On the last saturday afternoon of the month of March Leo was arranging and the library, near the stained glass windows for the first and only book club meeting of the year. His kneazle Madonna was doing her best to help but Leo ended up stumbling over her more than once so it hindered more than it helped. By the time he had set up all the bean bag chairs in multiple colours and gotten a big table fixed with tea, coffee, juice and cinnamon rolls Leo was pretty hot and frazzled.
Slumping down in a navy blue bean bag chair Leo wiped his forehead with a tissue and catched his breath as he eyed the time on his wrist watch. Luckily for him he had several minutes to spare before the student's would start arriving. Pulling out a parchment he had prepared earlier with notes he skimmed it over as he waited with his white kneazle curling up into a ball at his feet.
Ooc: Welcome to the only book club meeting this term. Come on in and find a bean bag to sit on. The meeting will begin shortly!
Nessa hung off to the side after she had obtained a cinnamon roll from the table and distractedly pulled it apart, popping bits of it in her mouth. She had arrived slightly late and thought it might be rude to draw attention to herself after Leo had started the club meeting, so she stood listening to the discussing as she held onto her copy of Wizard Fact or Muggle Fiction? She thought it might prove useful for one of her classes and had been perusing it as of late.
And the discussion was rather interesting, she loved to hear about what the children enjoyed reading. It gave her a little insight to their personalities and interests. She thought the mention of restricted books was noteworthy as well, finding that section slightly mysterious. Her attention was diverted when Toby spoke up however. A glowing, vanishing book.. It seemed to strike something in her distant memory. Nessa tried to bring it to the forefront of her mind as she finished her cinnamon roll.

Cassie was listening to all the books and they all sounded wonderful, but her eyes soon gave a confused look to Leo. He seemed like he didn't know why she would be doing this, but he should know first hand why. He had seen her, at least the students said he did. Maybe they were wrong. Maybe he didn't! Maybe she didn't say those things to him. OHMYGOSH!! Could that be true and she really wasn't mean to him! Oh she so hoped this was true!
"Well umm, they had told me for a few weeks I wasn't being myself, that I was being a mean person, an Evil Queen I think it was. I was obsessed by someone named Snow White." She looked around the room to see if she was correct in the name. Holding up her book she continued, "This book had Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in it and the Evil Queen is in there and how she hired a huntsmen to kill Snow White." That sounded exactly like what the students were saying. "I don't remember doing this, but I witnessed Professor Culloden just recently acting strangely and saying about Beauty, which I've found in here to." She glanced at Zander to confirm.
Slinking down in her beanbag she was exhausted just thinking about it and the pep was quickly running out as she remembered what the students were saying. Then she heard Toby and sat up, "Were you going to say Divination? The book was there? Le.. I mean Mr. Kitridge, the last thing I had remembered was reading a book with Professor Glendower. The rest is a blur. Could this be the same book?" She looked to Toby for maybe the answer and then back to Leo.

It was not the right time or place but Leo was just a teeny tiny bit curious as to why the snakette wore gloves inside. The library was usually a warm place if you weren’t visiting the restricted section.

Leo listened silently but attentively as Zhenya shared with everyone what book she had chosen and what it was about. When she finished Leo asked. "Who wrote '99 ways to charm a mermaid'? It sounds like an interesting book that I might need to order for the library."
Zhenya looked at Mr. Kitridge as he spoke to her. Her chest swelled with… something. Nobody had actually offered her their help before, and she was overcome with a feeling of.. gratitude? Thankfulness? She wasn't sure which, but she had to quickly bite her lip to stop her eyes from welling up. Why was it when people asked how others were going, if something was wrong, they always felt like crying? Was it because they knew someone cared about them? Perhaps that was it. But she didn't want to cry here, not in front of everyone. She didn't want anyone else to know she wasn't… okay. She gulped and said "Thank you Mr. Kitridge, I very much appreciate that." She offered him a small smile to show her gratitude.

Zhenya had been holding her book to her chest after she spoke about it. She smiled at Mr. Kitridge, who appeared to like the sound of her book. She was glad she had taken it with her when she left her Grandparent's place all those years ago. She looked on the front cover for the author, but the fabric cover was very faded and she couldn't make it out. She opened the cover, where the ink was still clear, and read "It's by someone named Yuliana Markovik," she said, pronouncing it with with her Russian tongue. She thought that stocking it in the library would be a great idea, and she beamed inside, happy that she had taken this book, and not one of her many other books. This one had a special place in her heart, and she was glad she could share it with everyone else.

Or someone donates them to us like many of your parents did after that fire burned up parts of the library and many books."
"For a book to end up on the shelves in the Restricted Section they have to need special handling, have a curse placed upon them or just have advanced knowledge in them that require you to have permission to read. Books in the Restricted Section have been placed there by staff members or the librarians that have proceeded me in the position since Hogwarts came into existence they don’t just show up out of the blue. Someone has to have put the books on the shelves."
After a short stop to take a mouthful of juice from a glass Leo fetched with the use of his wand he finished. "What potential damage a book from the restricted section can cause if it was as Ian put it 'released' depends on the book and its nature. It's hard for me to guess unless I get an example."
Ian listened as Mr. Kitridge explained the placement of the books in the restricted section. Very interesting. Especially the part about there being a fire, which Ian didn't recall. Seemed like that might be a hazard of the restricted books. Then Mr. Kitridge had mentioned that he'd need an example of a book to say what sort of damage it could do if it were released. Ian had been debating in his head about whether he should bring up the glow-y book when Toby did and Professor Morgan mentioned Divination and evil Queen and Professor Glendower and such. It appeared they had seen the same book. Ian just figured he'd stay silent and wait for an answer. Maybe the origins of this book would be determined.
Best stay away from them? Toby looked around at the guy who'd said that, a fourth year Gryffindor he knew mostly from seeing in classes, but thought his surname might be Atreyu, if he remembered right from class. Tobias paused and gave a nod. Duly noted. He saw that shiver, and trusted that judgement.
When Professor Morgan spoke up, Toby switched his gaze to her and hesitated, but nodded. He'd wanted to avoid bringing up the whole evil queen stuff, the same way he'd held back on a lot of the details when talking to Airey about all the Hook stuff, but this was a direct question. And now that he thought about it, it might be useful information...
Tobias sat up suddenly a little straighter, which was slightly difficult after he'd been all lazily flopped in it, and sort of looked at the professors a little better.
"Divination, yeah. Actually, now you mention it..." They'd looked at the book together? Toby looked curiously (and slightly uncertainly) between Morgan and Glendower, and even Botros (King Triton, anyone?), then at Kitridge, then back to Professor Morgan with a sort of apologetic look on his face. "You brought the book into class with you, when you were, uhh, acting all... strange, y'know? And then Professor Glendower arrived in class too, and-" Tobias looked over at Glendower, still with that apologetic expression. "-you were acting kinda strange as well." And Professor Morgan had said they'd both read the book.
Toby faltered a little, aware he was getting totally side-tracked here, and was probably ruining the point of the book club. He sort of sank back a little into his beanbag again.
"I guess that's a book I wouldn't recommend."

"The Wandmaker at Ollivander's, Ira Banner, wrote a book called... The Will, The Word, and the Wand: A Compendium of British Wandlore. S'kinda a mouthful, but it's essentially a really general book about wands and wandlore, and it's not SUPER technical, like a textbook or anything - it's more for the common witch or wizard who wants to learn a bit more about wands, which EVERYONE should want to do, really, because wands are a huge part of our every day life, y'know?" Except maybe for Tobes, who got a grin as the words crossed her lips. Him and his Muggle ways of doing things.
"It covers the ins and outs of how our wands choose us and how to best harness our wands' powers by looking into like how the cores and woods interact and the properties of them and stuff. I mean... haven't you ever wondered why your wand is best for you? What makes it so uniquely yours?" She sure had, obviously, and she was so fascinated by the whole thing that she was choosing that career path for herself. "So... if y'wanna learn how to get the most outta your spellwork and better understand how it works, s'definitely a good book to read. Ira Banner's a genius."
The topic changed back from the restricted section to the book Sophie had brought along to the meeting. Leo nodded. "I agree with you Sophie. Learning more about your own unique wand can benefit everyone regardless if it’s for practicing spell work or using a spell in an everyday setting." It could be good if Mr Banner agreed, to have a dozen or so copies of the wand compendium in the library.

So why would Adi recommend the book?
"I would recommend the book because it is very entertaining, action packed but most of all, it gets your curiosity going. I think from a wizard's point of view, it would be a rather interesting question about if muggles could actually make themselves invisible in the future.'' Of course anything's possible.
Shifting his gaze to Adi once more Leo nodded "Whether muggles can actually make themselves invisible in the future without the aid of magic is a very interesting question Adi that you should bring up with Professor Hadley and Professor Fuller. You might be able to do some research in class or even go on a field trip." He assumed that invisibility landed under the Charms subject and definitely Muggle Studies since it involved muggles.

Face turning into a grin as Leo turned to Kace he gave a thumbs up gesture. "I'll cross my fingers and toes that you’ll get to work in your dream profession after Hogwarts then. "Markovik." Leo echoed. "I’ll see if I can find more books by that author. It did really sound like a good read." He commented. Angel then suddenly thought of something. "In my primary school there were books only year five and six could read, is that like the restricted section in muggle places?" Angel had been confused about why they weren't all allowed to read every book around.
Good. Angel was paying attention and actually contributing and coming up with an interesting question. Thoughtfully Leo replied "In a sense yes. Muggles rank their books after age appropriateness. A book that is written for adults a 6 year old shouldn’t read etc. I don’t think they have an actual restricted section like we do but I’ll look into it before our next meeting." Angel could if she just wanted to.

And now that he thought about it, given the state of Professor Morgan when she'd brought it into the classroom, maybe that was a good thing. And hadn't that girl then been the next person to catch The Bug? Hmm. HMMMM.
He looked at Kitridge again, curious. "Maybe if books can vanish they can just appear too?" Was this too far off topic? "Are there any vanishing books in the library, sir? Or glowing ones?" Just, y'know, curious. If anyone would know, it would be Mr. Kitridge.
They had had a glowing book in Divination class that after it had been read vanished. This was alarming!! Had a book from the restricted section been released from its chain? This was worrying. Focusing on Toby’s question Leo responded. "It depends on the book but yes its possible that some books can vanish and appear by their own accord." Furrowing his brows in thought he said "I'm not entirely sure that the library holds any glowing books that can vanish but if we do then they would definitely be placed in the restricted section under lock and key and spells."

He might have asked how to do so but mention of a vanishing glowing book brought his attention to a Hufflepuff he reconized from classes. "Best to stay away from them...." he mused aloud, unconsciously shivering.
Shaking his head Leo replied. "No I haven't read that book. But I'd like to sometime." He just didn’t have that much time at present for pleasure reading. He read books to be able to see if they were worth putting up on the library shelves for the students and faculty to read.

O.O
Turning to Cassie his eyes growing into giant saucers as things started to piece itself together in his mind. "I think you are onto something very important and alarming here Professor Morgan. I think that the glowing book is somehow connected to your episode as the Evil Queent. It was probably the book that possessed you to act like the Evil Queen and for Professor Culloden to act strangely too. It's possible that the book's magic is so strong that you don’t have any recollection of what you've said or done while you’ve been under the book’s spell. Its unfortunately not impossible for magical books to have those kind of powers of enchantment."
*****
Turning to gaze around at the assembled student's he asked fearing the answers he'd potentially get. "Is there anyone else that has experienced something similar to what Professor Morgan just spoke of? Been acting uncharacteristically or saying weird things after being in contact with this mysterious book?" With a glance to Cassie, Botros and Nessa he added worriedly. "I think we need to alert the headmistress. If there is a glowing book on the loose in the castle that is dangerous to both students and staff then we need to find it."
Pulling out his wand from within his robes Leo murmured "Expecto Patronum!" and watched as his patronus in the shape of a silvery bald eagle flied out through the library door.

Ian looked up at the librarian when he asked if any of the students had experienced similar things. He internally debated whether or not to speak up, but saw Mr. Kitridge use his patronus. This meant that perhaps what he dealt with/experienced was a little bit important. Looking from side to side, he waited to see if any of the other students would speak first. It appeared like maybe sort of from Benjamin. But maybe not.
Ian coughed before speaking. Ummm....Mr. Kitridge. He raised his hand. Should he add more? Perhaps a little explanation would be beneficial. I showed up in transfiguration class in short pants and a weird hat. I didn't even remember going to that class. Come to think of it, Ian didn't remember much about that time frame.
Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna
No Eragon for Mr. Kitridge it seemed. Benny wondered if perhaps he should lend the book to the man over the summer. It was a nice one, instead of the glowing, vanishing book that had gotten a fair bit of attention. At the question about acting weird after being around the book, Ben tentatively raised his hand to identify himself. He remembered seeing it around several times and while he hadn't been able to definitely connect the book with his time as the Mad Hatter, it was fitting more and more.
"Me sir," he replied before lowering his hand and fighting the urge to shiver again. At least the original Hufflepuff seemed to believe his words of warning. "I vaguely remember spotting it shortly before acting like the Mad Hatter." Cue feeling embarished about all that he had said and done.
"And Professor Flamsteed had been acting like Captain Hook after he dealt with the book in our common room. " The situation was adding up more and more and the fourth year had to admit seeing the patronus gave him mixed feelings. The fact that it was serious yet the fact that someone was leading the investigation to stop it from happening.

Anyways, he nodded to confirm what Professor Morgan had said about Culloden because although at the time, Zander was thoroughly confused, things were starting to make sense now? JK LOL. Nothing ever made sense here. Not to Zander, anyways. But still, he listened to what everyone had to say, before hearing Mr. Kitridge address the entire class again. "Well... I've never noticed a glowing book, but I think most of the Professor's have been affected," Except for, wait for it... "Except for a few, like Professor Romanos."
Ahem.
Just an observation. Nothing more. Nothing less.
You know, just sayin.

It was weird how things change for you when you are an old man. For Botros today, he loved that he'd just sit on his special comfortable chair and listening to everyone sharing their memories of reading that awesome book. He raised his hand to get a turn, "I did get some odd homework, a drawing of me as a king. With princesses sitting next to me." He scratched his bald head, trying to remember the details.
He did remember seeing some kids acting strange-- well, stranger than they usually were. And then some professors seemed to be acting uncharacteristically, like what professor Morgan said. Botros never realized how viral it had gone over the months. He saw Leo send a Patronus off and he guessed where it was headed, the librarian received a supportive look from the old professor as kids continued to share their stories.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Adi was super pleased Mr Kitridge agreed with his opinion that Muggles making themselves invisible without the use of magic in the future fascinating. He nodded at the suggestion. "I will do that.'' What a fun topic that would be to discuss with Professor Head of House and Professor Fuller.
Now the Hufflepuff sat there, listening to all the encounters with the mysterious book. Wasn't it a good thing he hadn't touched it when it had made its presence known in the Puffer Common Room? He had maintained his sanity! Hehe.
He also agreed with Kitridge about the Head needing to be made aware of the happenings. Adi watched with interest as the eagle flew out of the room obviously after the red headed woman.
It was greatly appreciated that Kitridge had seemed to like her book recommendation, and she debated offering to see if Ira would donate some copies to the Hogwarts library, but that seemed a bit too overkill. She was a suck-up, but not THAT much. At least... not today. Heh. She was certain she had reached her quota on that for the day.
But when the topic of conversation turned to a glowing book, brought up by Tobes, Soph couldn't help but think back to any of those times she had caught even just a glimpse of a glowing book - Divination class, yes, and... had there been something on the ground that had been glowing during the fireworks, too? Could it have been the same thing? She had never thought anything of it - weird things were just the norm around Hogwarts, weren't they? She didn't think it would've been anything that could cause harm, or cause people to become fairytale characters for a little while... but maybe it DID make sense that, rather than her and Tobes picking up the curse at Disney World, the curse came from a fairytale book itself. Actually, the more she thought about it, the more she was CERTAIN that made a lot more sense.
A looot more sense than her previous theory. Eh hem.
Unfortunately, she had nothing constructive to add to the conversation, so she figured... well. They might as well wait and see what the Headmistress had to say about this, hm? And, just out of curiosity, she found herself scanning the bookshelves around them, wondering if such a glowing book would show itself.
Professor Pink | Mrs. Bruce Wayne | I'm on a Goat | Glitterpuff | Dumbledore's Defense Squad | BHB
With patronus received and possibly crazy professor in tow, the Headmistress made her entrance into the Book Club meeting. She looked around the room, the Potions professor still on her arm like a well-worn accessory, and nodded at everyone. Well then, this was an eclectic group... and more adults were here than she would have thought...
"So, about the book?" The redhead's eyebrows went up in question as her blue eyes landed on Leo. "We have a mysterious glowing book on the loose, is that all?"
Just another day at Hogwarts, right?

............. Welp. That had definitely escalated.
Toby, flopped in his beanbag and hugging his own book to his chest whilst his fidgety feet tapped on the floor, listened as Kitridge went on about the glowing book to Professor Morgan and then sent off a patronus. Right. Okay. Weird how it had only just been one of those distracted no-thought-required kind of ideas that just seemed to tumble from his mouth without any real say-so from his brain. And yet apparently it had been quite important. Kudos to you, impulsive speech patterns.
As he didn't have much more valuable input apart from that very first idea, Toby remained quiet for now. When Truebridge and Culloden entered, the fifth year looked from them back to Kitridge. Everything would be explained, and then fixed by the adults, and back to normal, right? Hogwarts-normal, anyway. And if not, then Toby at least knew to avoid the ominously glowing book in the future. Bright side.

Oh this was horrible, this was more horrible then the thought of possibly being me to Leo, the sweetest librarian ever! She just sat there dumbstruck. "I'm so sorry I brought it to class. I didn't know." Her green eyes went to Nessa as Toby mentioned her. "Professor Glendower was there?" They were right about things. "Were we fighting over something by chance?" That was the foggy memory she kept thinking about.

Ab didn't bring any books with him, to be honest. Instead, he listened to what the children were reading these days, he'd done quite a lot of reading in his past seventy years, barely anything could interest him anymore.
Until Cassie brought up muggle stories, the fairy tale-y kind especially. His interest spiked at the mention of it, and he raised his hand to add. "I do think I'm familiar with those stories, professor Morgan, and some of those stories are really fun, humorous and teach a socially accepted moral from the Muggle world." He liked them. And... yes, no need to point out the elephant in the room, right? That they'd been seeing some fairy-tale related things going on around the castle, giant beanstalks, mistresses of evil and whatnot...
Ooh, a good question. Ab turned to Leo to hear about this, the old professor never managed a library as big and thorough as Hogwarts library, Leo must know how the restricted section worked.
She gave Abe a smile and nodded, "Yes I do love the stories, but I just don't know the lesson I'm suppose to be learning from them at the moment." How not to be mean? Was that it? Everything had been so confusing.
SPOILER!!: Leo

Learning more about your own unique wand can benefit everyone regardless if it’s for practicing spell work or using a spell in an everyday setting." It could be good if Mr Banner agreed, to have a dozen or so copies of the wand compendium in the library.
An internship at Quality Qudditch Supplies is probably a plus when you later try out for a professional team.# Not that Leo was very invested in how the quidditch teams chose who got to try out for their teams. He just liked watching the game from spectator place and cheer on a team.
"Markovik." Leo echoed. "I’ll see if I can find more books by that author. It did really sound like a good read." He commented. Taking up his parchment, a second time to write down the author of the mermaid story he hoped that if Zhenya didn’t take him up on his offer of a talk she’d at least talk to her head of house.
"Peter Pan is a lovely story. I used to read it when I was about your age to." Leo commented slightly nostalgic. Some childhood books you never forgot.
SPOILER!!: Toby
]
She listened to what Leo was saying and nodded, she felt horrid for doing those things, but he was right, if it was some book then it wasn't truly her. The students and staff would forgive her, right? Leo would forgive her, wouldn't he? When he asked if others had been possessed she looked around and hoped the answer would be no, but..

He remembered seeing it around several times and while he hadn't been able to definitely connect the book with his time as the Mad Hatter, it was fitting more and more.

" The situation was adding up more and more and the fourth year had to admit seeing the patronus gave him mixed feelings.
There were more!!
O_o
More people had this issue and not just staff. OHMYGOSH, was she the reason for this? Were any of these from her class? Cassie being to have a mini panic attack though she sat quiet without any real freak out expressions. "This is horrible, this book it.. " She just didn't have the words. How could a book do this? Books were wonderful things, not possessing Fairy Tale crazies. Looking back to Leo she nodded as he felt the need to send a message to the Headmistress. Yes, she should know about that. Her thought of the Dungeon came back to her, maybe the woman already did?

"So, about the book?" The redhead's eyebrows went up in question as her blue eyes landed on Leo. "We have a mysterious glowing book on the loose, is that all?"
Just another day at Hogwarts, right?
Soon she saw another person coming into the library or well two. The headmistress had Cossy with her? Cassie certainly hoped the man was doing better. She felt bad when he was at her office, but there didn't seem like anything could get him to stay. Seeing that she was looking to Leo, Cassie thought it best to stay quiet. Children being put in close contact with that book in her class, she could be blamed for some of them acting weird. So yep mouth was staying closed for once.
Though she did look at Toby and give him a smile. Leaning over a bit she whispered, "Thank you sooo much for helping me figured some of the confusion out." She certainly appreciated it. She hated not remembering and not know what had happened. The students had been all so nice in telling her.

Zhenya was quite pleased to see Mr. Kitridge write down the author's name. She would have to ask him at a later date if had been able to locate the book. Otherwise, perhaps she could find some kind of cloning charm. She wasn't even sure if one existed.

What on earth was going on? Her eyes widened with fear as one of the Professors was talking about being… possessed? And other students. HUH!? Zhenya had never heard of any of this happening, what on earth had she been doing for the first weeks of term? She listened to everyone speaking, and then the HEADMISTRESS came in!? Uhh Ohh… However, she took comfort in the fact the Headmistress wasn't too concerned. If it was a real big problem, surely she would be worried and setting something into action straight away?

Jasmine listened as the conversation had turned to a glowing book and the people possibly possessed by it. Off the top of her head, she could think of at least six students who had gone crazy and that wasn't even counting the Professors. Jasmine wasn't sure about the book, but the first person she remembered acting.....out of the ordinary was Lex. After that it was a virtual onslaught of fairy tale characters.
Before she knew it, a Patronus had been sent and the Headmistress arrived. What was it with this Book Club meeting? Whenever there was a meeting, drama ensued. Jasmine just sat back waited for more craziness to follow.

Angel smiled as she looked at the Librarian as he spoke... he sure was amazing and he was going to find out the answer to her question that was awesome.
Angel listened to what he said, she had seen the book once but that was about it, she had no idea what the book did except make people crazy, her own boyfriend Benny had gone crazy because of the book.
Angel suddenly saw the headmistress come into the room. "Good day." Angel smiled at the woman, she decided that she had best be polite. "How are you today?"

While Cosgrach still thought someone rather than something was on the loose hexing them, he still had to consider this book theory too, so he followed his boss to the book meeting. And anyway, if so many people were affected... which explained Dot's behaviour too, and several others'. Come to think about it... maybe there was a book rather than someone on the loose.
He looked like a calm accessory on Annie's arm as he vaguely nodded at people. He was still thinking this, so he wasn't very aware of people there. He snapped out of it, though. Yes, it had to be a book. Or an object, at least, not a person.
Umm....somehow--Eden didn't know, she had drifted off for a bit--they had gotten to a discussion about how the professors and SOME students were acting...weird. Eden could TOTALLY attest to this, too, because she had first hand experience--with both Morgan AND Walton! Nodding at everything everyone said--she wondered if a book could be causing this. Because it made sense, didn't it? She had seen a book in certain places. Hadn't there been one in that Divination class with the 'evil' queen? Hmph.
But as SOON as Headmistress Truebridge came in, Eden hid behind Zander or Cutty--she honestly wasn't paying attention to which one BECAUSE THAT LADY WAS CRAZY AND EDEN'S DETENTION STILL RANG IN HER HEAD. Yep. She was NOT ready to talk to the headmistress again at aaaallllllll. She didn't want to say anything.
So she was quiet.
Very, very quiet.

Annnnd the Headmistress had arrived! So had the Potions Professor. "Hello,'' Adi said to both of them. Could not forget his manners now, could he? Truebridge got straight to the point. Good. The sooner they found the book, the better.
But Cosgrach had asked an excellent question. How could they find it? Hmmm.

Annnnnd back to Cossy. "Well," the Heamistress disentangled herself from him, "We'll form a search party, of course." She was still somewhat doubtful that a mysterious book was roaming the castle. Books were objects, they couldn't move. "Can we have more of a description of what we're looking for, first, please? Anyone? All I know is that it's a glowing book."
Some memory from earlier in the term was fuzzy at the back of her mind, but she dismissed it fairly quickly. BOOK, a glowing BOOK was the topic now at the BOOK CLUB meeting.

Yes, she very vaguely remembered reading some sort of odd book a few weeks ago, a book that Cassie had mentioned at Gobstones, and she glanced at her as she mentioned her name. Could this be the same book that a few of the students were talking about? She wished she could remember. But nobody had told her she had been acting strangely so she wasn't sure..
Though Toby seemed to think differently. Brown eyes snapped to his as he spoke her name and she looked at him, slightly confused. "I was acting strangely in Divination class? How exactly do you mean?" She didn't remember going to any Divination classes lately as busy as she had been but that nagging feeling at the back of her mind had been growing. She was just about to ask, but Cassie beat her to it. Could this be when she thought she had dreamed that they were fighting? She was really interested in what he had to say.
But Nessa didn't get a chance to say any more as before she knew it, Leo felt the need to summon Annie, then she looked around the room as more students and her colleagues spoke. There really did seem to be a problem here.. and it wasn't just her and Cassie. She hadn't really noticed anyone acting-- wait. She had noticed one girl acting very strangely at the beginning of the year, but.. that was related to class, wasn't it? Nessa tried to shake off the feeling then turned her eyes to the library entrance as the headmistress and Cosgrach came in. She didn't really have much of a description for them, not knowing much about it herself.
A search party though.. that might be a good idea.. and she nodded distractedly to herself as her mind drifted in thought.

Leo's fears were valid. This book hadn't just messed with members of staff it had messed with students too. "I'm sorry Ian. We’ll get to the bottom of this I promise." They had to. They couldn’t have a mysterious book on the loose.

Mad Hatter was a fairy tale and so was Captain Hook. Oh dear this was not good. "Benny, do you remember anything about what the book looked like? Did it glow?" It was alarming Leo felt that Airey had been enchanted/messed with too. Hopefully Airey was all right.

He was reading it because Professor Flamsteed suggested it. But more than that, he was reading it because apparently this Neville person was very relatable. Because Zander Adair was a Gryffindor no matter what anyone else had to say about it. And that was why he was reading the book. "I do, but I'm mostly reading about it to learn about Neville Longbottom, sir. Being his biography and all," he smiled a little.
"Ah, yes Neville Longbottom is an extraordinary plant expert." Leo commented. But back to the more pressing matter at hand with the book. "Interesting observation Zander, I think it's safe to say that you can count me into the unaffected category too." He as far as he knew hadn’t been in contact with any glowing books or had experienced any spiels of amnesia.

Botros had gotten odd homework with drawings of him as king with princesses sitting around him. Gazing over to his good friend Leo said "It looks like the book got to you too Abraham. It sounds like you could have been acting like the king in a number of children stories."

Just another day at Hogwarts, right?
Leo was relieved when Headmistress Truebridge finally arrived to the library. Turning to her he said. "So far we've pieced together that this mysteriously glowing book has been for lack of better word 'enchanting' both members of staff and students alike to act uncharacteristically for spiels of time. And it seems from the stories so far in the meeting that they have acted like characters out of children's stories and more importantly fairy tales. So maybe it’s a book that takes up all fairy tale stories written both magical and muggle." But Leo was in a sense grasping for straws. They needed more information.

Yes a search party for the book was definitely needed and of top priority. Leo couldn’t agree more with what Headmistress Truebridge was saying. Turning to Cossy by her side he asked "Is it true like Professor Morgan said that you’ve been acting strangely too? Have you got any memory of what the book looks like aside from its glowing attribute?"
*****
Turning to gaze out over all the assembled students and staff for that matter Leo said "Everyone please try and think back and remember. Can you remember anything at all about the mysterious book aside from its glow? Was it big/small? What colour was it? Was the lettering in the book old or more modern? Headmistress Truebridge needs more to go on if she is going to organize a search party for the book." The better description they got the easier it would be to find the book hopefully.

Ian tried to think back. He had seen it a couple times, but only really recognized it was an older, larger book. The pages sort of moved on their own when the book seemed to get going, but maybe it was because they were flipping through them.
Ian raised his hand. Headmistress. I saw it in a couple places. It was in our common room and I think I saw it at the fireworks show and divination. It was an old book. It was kind of big. He looked around for a book that he thought matched the size. He just couldn't find the right one. He continued briefly. I'm pretty sure that book wasn't there when I came into my common room that day. The common room was empty before I showed up.
