The student leaders have saved an area especially for students to sit and eat, mingle, or just take a rest in between activities. There are blankets set out with spaces in between them, but close enough that they can be dragged together to form one big sitting area. The blankets all are embellished with the Hogwarts crest, though only on the fuzzy side, which is facing up and ready to sit on. If the weather gets cooler or windy, feel free to wrap the blanket around you - there are enough for everyone.
So feel free to pull up a blanket, eat some yummies, chat with friends, watch the hippogriffs, and most definitely save a seat; the prefects and Head Boy and Girl have planned a little something extra.
Gabriel just didn't understand. He'd even taken preventative measures......sitting as far away from the crowd as he possibly could.....but he was still being bothered....and no, he wasn't daft. Gabe knew there would be noise...Festivals usually meant all that excitement....good times.....stuff, but that didn't have to include high pitched screeching and carrying on, did it?
Man, he'd had quite enough of that sort of thing from the lessons, thank you very much...
"I'm trying to read." It was said with as much annoyance and frustration as could be mustered in one sentence. Translation: your girl voice is my problem.
After a pause and then, a last minute scowl....he promptly went back to his book.
........And the cosplaying professor just got a look. Gabe could appreciate how dedicated they got about their roles here; really giving the characters 100 percent...and performing the very realistic scenarios...but he wasn't really feeling it today. Nope, it was a Julius Caesar...Latin kind of day............Not a Brother's Grimm one.

There. Safe.
She leaned forward conspiratorially, her green eyes flicking to the bespectacled boy again. "That rather sounded like he was annoyed with you," Justine whispered, nodding as she spoke. Yeah, okay, so much for trying to be a better person, but she couldn't help it! This was such a good opportunity for mischief! And besides it wasn't as if Eden would let the matter rest on her own, anyway.
You never would have guessed that from her features, though, because her lovely visage was as serene as ever. Yep, no evil here.
Except for the evil queen - A. K. A. Professor Way-too-hyper, A. K. A. Professor Elle Woods - Who was asking around for a Huntsman and taking about killing Snow White. Ugh, hadn't they fixed this issue yet? Honestly, it wasn't charming anymore, nor had it been, ever.
Eden wondered--WHAT KIND OF PERSON READ AT THESE THINGS? She was ALL for reading, yep, but HERE? When they were supposed to be relaxing? Though, Clara loved reading--and were she here, she'd probably be reading, too. Hmph.
"Well." She said softly to the boy. "I am sorry for disturbing." She said with a sliiiiight hesitation in her voice. But she was SCREAMING at herself to be nice because that just made things easier. She turned back to Justine, though, and rolled her eyes a bit.
"I wasn't even being that loud--Merlin--" she said as she saw a movement--had she just put something in her pocket? Eden didn't know, and she wasn't concerned at the moment. She wrapped her arms around her knees and siiiighed. "Anyways-" she shrugged. "Have you ridden a Hippogriff yet? Or..done the rock climbing?" she asked curiously while ALSO trying to drown out the sounds of whatever HORRIBLE creature had possessed Professor Morgan.
Just the sound of her being all...ugh...was enough to send Eden into a sour mood. BUT She had to stay POSITIVE! HAD IT. "Can we just trip her?" she whispered to Justine.

WHAT WAS THIS?! James wandered around looking at all the blankets each of course bearing the school crest. Of course. Finding an empty one he sat down and looked around. Someone mentioned fireworks and he couldn't help but come down from the tower to look. Exploding balls of fire at night. YES PLEASE! He let his hands run over the soft blanket and grinned. How much trouble would he get in if he stole one.... He looked around at the people there and sighed. He really needed to get out more. Where was his trouble making brother?! It's like he had fallen off the face of the earth these last few months.
Zoe made her way down to the grounds where the fireworks festival was being held and looked around for an empty spot. She had her jumper on and a hat and gloves but no jacket. She finally just took off her hat but clapped her hands together a little because her hands were still a bit cold. She spotted James and a little smile played on her lips. Making her way over she looked down "Anyone planning sitting here? Or do you wish to be alone?"
Jeremiah hadn't a clue as the where Beverly was. He did assume though that she would find him as she always did and so he decided to sir in one solid place and not move. He wasn't staying for long though on account of he did not want to do this.
This crowd thing.
The being in public thing.
The Anxitey thing.
He was not up for that today so he choose an area off towards the left and towards the front of the area. less people were there and he didn't like people today. Where was Beverly. Oh man he could run now if he wanted. just not show. She'd surely understand, yea?

"All ready for you," he said playfully as he held out his hand to help her sit down. "Are you ready for the fiery entertainment?" he said with a smile as he sat down next to her. "It's been awhile since I've seen fireworks honestly."

She'd be lying to herself is she didn't admit to feeling slightly excited about this event. Normally a big-people event would throw her off, buuuut...she had helped with this event so she was expecting recognition. Those bast--
Oh, HEY!
From her perch on the water sports station Beverly spotted an extremely familiar shadow. As usual little bat wings started their furious fluttering in her stomach. A small grin might have even graced her lips.
After letting Guidry know she was taking a break, Beverly half sped walked-jogged-skipped toward Jeremiah. Her first instinct was to come up behind him and spook him a bit, the way she always did, but not today. He's been...off. Scary off. She's done her best to put a strong front and help, but...well...she needed practice in that department.
Instead, she sat next to him, looping her arm around his. "Hi."
Pretty boyfriend.

He wasnt even sure if she had told him where she was working so he didnt even know where to look for her. Instead he kept his head down and tried to blow a stay part of his, now short yet still long ish, hair from off his forehead.
She did remember they were going to meet here yeah? Picking up his head juuust slightly he glanced around the area quickly only to not see her. Sad days. Maybe hed just go back to his room. Back to his homework. Maybe. He promised Beverly though and they didnt ever break promises to each other and he wasnt about to start now.
Speaking of!!!! Jumping at the touch on his arm he let out a deep breath when he realized it was just her. "oh... Merlin, you scared the flobberworms out of me." good going girlfriend. "hiii." he automatically leaned into her as she sat next to him.

He was so lucky.
"I didn't mean to startle you," she mumbled after he did that little jump thing. Oops. That's what she had been trying to avoid. Beverly chided herself. Learn to be a bit more gentle, yeah? She sometimes felt she was too rough, but it's not like she intended to be, it was just...her.
"I saw you from over there." Her slim finger pointed over at the water sports station. "There's water skiing." Y'know, if he was interested. Jeremiah loves water, a lot a lot.
Turning her head slightly, enough to get a look at him, Beverly quickly kissed his forehead. UGH. Why weren't kisses enough to heal a person, HMM?

Did she know she was cute? Cause honestly she was just the cutest thing ever. "'sokay." he wasnt going to die or anything. "i just was looking around for you and.didnt see you so i didnt expect it." he looked over at where she pointed.
Water. The girl knew the way to his heart that was for sure. "what area are you running?" his eyes scanned the place. Maybe he can go check that area out before he got the hell out of here.

He wasn't going to die, but she wanted him to be okay. And this was not okay in her book. He was the cheery one between the two. She wasn't going to voice it aloud because the last thing she wanted was to worry him with her worries. Instead she grinned and squeezed his arm with hers. "I should announce my arrival next time. Should I do wand sparks of find someone to announce this Royal Highness?" Heh.
She should stop trying to be funny. Beverly Wayne was not funny.
Water sports caught his attention!
"That one exactly." She shared his love of water, so duh. "I can get you in the front of the waiting line if you want to go." What? She was Prefect, she was boss of that station; her boyfriend was getting special treatment.

Food. The best thing since sliced bread. Actually... sliced bread WAS food.
So it was the best thing.
Wiping his mouth of any remnants of his mouthful, Linc nodded. "Reckon we could smuggle it in one of our jackets?" He had his wand. He knew that could be used to get the blanket out of this area and into his dorm without being caught. Risks, though. Darcy. "Why? I can wash it. Or Mum can." Wasn't that what a mother was properly for? The washing, the cooking and the loving? This required more thought. What else did they even do? Aside from ground you when you said a few things that most definitely weren't appropriate at the table with your grandparents. "I can ask Tristan in my next owl if he'll sort us some out? I miss him too. He sent me a picture earlier..."
Flynn, that was. Not Tristan. Tristan probably sent pictures to his giiiirlfriend.
Well, if Linc thought the rock climbing thing was going to be awesome, that meant that he wanted to go check them out. So, that's what they were going to do. "We'll go over there when you're done, if you'd like to." She leaned against him lightly, not putting much pressure on him at all considering he was eating and she didn't want to make a mess. No messes. Pi didn't like messes.
"He did? What was it a picture of?" She hadn't expected to miss that little boy so much, considering that she didn't have any little siblings and Flynn didn't belong to her, but still, she did.

This one would do though, yes he would do. If he came back with what she desired then he would be rewarded greatly, but if he did not, well he wouldn't want to find out what would happen. She had special containers that she kept things from people that failed her.
Looking around at the rest of them she glared, "This man has volunteered to be my huntsman, so you should be glad someone is going to go find Snow White, because if I do not find her soon you will all start paying." She wasn't going to stand for her subjects hiding Snow White. They were to be being loyal to her not that girl.
Turning her attention back to the Huntsman, "You will find my step daughter and take her deep into the woods. There you will end her and bring me back proof that you did. Do I make myself clear?" For his sake he better hope she was crystal clear.
Oh man, maybe he shouldn't have mentioned the class thing??? How was he supposed to know there wasn't actually a class for it?? How else did people learn how to become a hunstman?? Was she going to attack him for lying??????????

Oh, no, everything was cool. She bought it. Heck yeah.
As she suddenly started talking to the general public again, David proudly puffed out his chest a little, totally looking all manly and awesome, he was sure. Surely this was a huntsmen thing.
"Crystal clear, of course," he replied. "I'll take care of it." Yup. Though... "So where can I find her?" Had to find her to get her to the 'forest', right?
Waaaaas anyone around here pretending to be Snow White?

She laughed and smiled taking his hand and sitting down on the blanket. "I've....actually never seen fireworks." she said softly. Sad to admit it but she was looking forward to actually seeing them for once! "I've heard their loud but very pretty. How long has it been for you?" she asked curiously as she settled beside him when he sat down. She set her hat on the blanket next to her but kept the gloves on.
James kicked off his shoes and set them in the grass next to the blanket they were both sitting on. Hearing Zoe say she never had a chance to see fireworks he feigned shock and looked at her. "You poor depraved child!" He said and wrapped his arms around her in a comforting manner, "Your whole life and no fireworks!!!" Laughing he let her go and sat back leaning on his arms. "Let's see...it's been...You know I don't really remember. We were still little I remember that. Dad grabbed me by the collar and forced me to sit on one side of him and Lucas on the other side of mum because we wouldn't stop kicking each other...or maybe it was hitting. We had to be eight I guess at least. Don't ask me where we were cause I haven't the foggiest."
Seeing her set her hat down he picked it up and put it on his own head, "How do I look?" He said with a grin as he looked at her. He couldn't see himself but he had to be rocking that hat. "They are pretty loud though," he said picking up the fireworks conversation again. "Not too bad though if we're far enough away," he said adjusting the hat on his head. He never was fond of hats they ruined the hair for one but they got so dang hot!

She squeaked a little in surprise when he wrapped his arms around her. Wow, okay? That had been a little unexpected, but hey they were friends right? She shook her head as he let her go and went back to leaning back, "Nope, never been to see any fireworks. Are they that much of a big deal?" she asked in surprise. She laughed at his story though, "It must be fun having a twin. My brother and I are 7 years apart...we're close but...not really close if you know what I mean?"
She smirked at him putting her hat on his head "The green suits you." she said with a laugh. "Green Ravenclaw?"She nodded looking around them, wondering where they might set them off. "At least I know it'll be loud. Otherwise that might have been a little bit of a surprise."

"I feel sorry for your childhood. Must've been no fun at all," he said teasing a little. "Are they that much of a big deal?! Well...I guess that depends on if they do a good job or not. Usually yes, it's pretty cool they do different shapes and patterns but they can fail too." Hearing her laugh at his story he smiled and looked at her, "Fun and awful at the same time. My brother likes to steal my shirts. I can't tell you how many times I've been called Lucas by mum or dad. And sometimes I'll pretend to be him and vice versa on purpose just to irritate them."
"I always was fond of green," he said with a chuckle. "Hmm...Green Ravenclaw...Slytherclaw!" Look at him so witty. "My dad was a Slytherin and mum was a Gryffindor. Always thought it was funny because those are opposite houses. But as they say opposites attract." Man he was rambling. Maybe he shouldn't have had all those chocolate frogs. Hmmm... "It shouldn't be too bad really." He said as he laid down fully on the blanket with his hands behind his head. But let's hope it's not a bust or else we came out here for nothing."

She smirked "Well at times. My parents are pretty strict." she said wrinkling her nose. Maybe that was why she hadn't seen fireworks? Who knew. She nodded when he explained. "I can see that, hopefully they do a nice job tonight then. It'd be fun to see the different shapes and patterns." She snorted about Lucas stealing his shirts "Well at least I don't have that problem, I'd kind of rather not take Eric's shirts, they're not exactly my style." She laughed though about him getting called the wrong name. "I bet that's fun though, playing each other."
She grinned and nodded again, "Slytherclaw looks good on you." Gryffindor and Slytherin? Hotheadedness and bravery. Nice combination. At least neither was Hufflepuff? She shifted pulling her knees to her chest as she sat there, "Hopefully it'll be a good show."

"Ahh...strict parents aren't bad. Just no fun. Then again it depends on their level of strictness...." He turned his head sideways to look at her and smiled. "So you get to share your first firework experience with me. Sorry you couldn't have better company," he said with a slight smile. His eyes found the rockwall and widened slightly. Oh now that'd be fun. "Only fun as long as mum isn't too mad when she finds out."
"Does it?" he said giving her a look with a slight smirk. He turned his head back to look at the sky and frowned. Man this was taking too long. He was growing impatient. "Hopefully..but if it doesn't start soon I might just cause a scene." Well not likely but still. He looked around at the other kids. His eyes again fell on the rockwall and he smiled, "Bet I can do that?" he said pointing off in the direction the wall was.

Nor were aunties...though Aunt Cece was warming more, her strictness was still there but she still cared especially when it looked like Zoe was in danger or hurt. Like earlier in the term when the quidditch pitch had collapsed in in itself. "Eh, the company isn't that bad." she said with a smile looking his way. Interesting and amusing certainly wasn't bad. She snickered and nodded at that "Yeah I could see how she might not like that much."
She smirked back and shrugged. "Like steal a firework? Or set one off?" she asked with a laugh. Oh yeah she could picture James doing that! "Think so?" she asked turning and looking where he was pointing "Why don't you try?"

She was being clear, very good. This was even easier then she thought. Looking around at the others that seemed to be ignoring her. "How dare they ignore their queen. Surely this is because of her, they think that they can out smart me and follow her. Well I will be showing them once you have done your job."
They would all have no more hopes from their precious snow white. She would be gone and the Queen would win. She would be the fairest of them all and these peasants would have to bow down to her everyday for disrespecting her power like they were right now.
"You do know what Snow looks like." Everyone knew what the late kings daughter looked like, but just in case he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed the queen made sure.

Company isn't that bad eh? He glanced at her and smiled, "Or do you mean it could be worse company?" Of course worse would be more like his dad in a foul mood. All hulky and broody. "Hmmm...now there's an idea. Steal a firework. I'm a little bit too tall to be all stealthy like that though." Could be worth a try however.... He must save that to ponder later. He grinned widely as she told him to try, "What do I get if I do?"
"Oh!" Speaking of getting something... "So..." he reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a small box of chocolates. "I figured you'd like these well because most girls like these and you're really the only girl I know. So...Happy Valentines Day?" he said holding it out to her. He really didn't know if that was right or what not and really he didn't care but he figured she'd appreciate it. What and being single and all while all the other girls were getting stuff. He was single but he liked it that way really or what it more he didn't care...probably the caring bit. And if she didn't want it he'd certainly eat it himself. Chocolate was fantastic!!

This was... nice. Nice? Yes, quite nice. Actually, not that nice. These kind of social events were the sort that sent Archie in a messy pool of sweat, but since they were taking place on the grounds, he kinda had to show his face. To make sure the students behaved themselves, of course!!
... or to just clean up after them. Probably that.
Blankets? Archie couldn't think of anything sillier. He frowned at them before crouching to sit on his knees for a few idle seconds. He soon changed his mind and sat on his bottom with crossed legs instead. Didn't want to put out his knobbly knees too much. Perhaps next time he would suggest CHAIRS for the old and frail staff members. Pssht. Careless.
Archie tapped his knees, raised his eyebrows with a sort of smile at the kids around him, and he couldn't help but think what on Earth he was doing here...

She snorted and tilted her head a little "Well that could definitely be true." There were a few people she could name but wouldn't that would definitely be worse company. She smirked about him repeating the steal a firework. Oh she'd do it if he did! Heh, of age or not, nothing wrong with a little fun! When he asked what he'd get if he did she smirked more "You get to the top I'll give you a kiss on the cheek." Heh, right, she wasn't sure if he'd even take her up on that. What did she have to lose? Nothing whatsoever.
Her eyes widened in surprise when he pulled a box of chocolates from his jacket. She REALLY hadn't expected that! "I...." she flushed a little thankful for the dim light. "Thank you" she whispered as she took the chocolates. "happy Valentine's Day."

"Sure and if you lost.... you'd still be winning, just in a different way, right?" Ruby giggled a bit and smiled at Grayson. She always had a good time with him.
... and she was getting pretty good at reading him to be honest. Ruby tilted her head and smiled softly.
"You won't be looking back, by the time you're seventh year, you'll be looking forward, and excited about it. I promise." And he'd laugh about the stress it was giving him now. He'd be fine, she probably would flunk out or get expelled before then.
Greece?
Mmmmaybe.
"Well... we know each other a little better now, wouldn't you say?" And no need for sunscreen here. "And there's a lot more people around." She added. And as of yet... he'd not kissed her publicly. Which was fine and didn't matter at all. It wasn't as if they were together, and he probably didn't want Sophie to see. She understood, she just also liked kisses so really it was too bad.
If he lost, he'd just be winning in a different way. See, Grayson didn't usually like the idea of losing, not when it damaged his ego. So Ruby's words? SMIRK. "Gotta admit, I like this other way of winning," he said, nodding at her, "And if you were losing, it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing either. Foooooor the same reasons." Lulz. She knew what he was talking about, yes?
She definitely knew him well, Ruby did. It surprised Grayson at times because he never saw himself as the readable type: the type people knew well based on inner feelings and not what he let show. So this? Surprising. A nice surprising, too. Heh. "Man, I certainly hope so. It'd be a waste of a year to be mopey all year long. Besides, we're gonna be top of the school! Might as well act like it when the time comes." Think of the POWER. "You looking forward to anything in the future?" Meaning, did she have any plans? Or was she gonna go with the flow?
They knew each other a little better now. Whitty nodded slowly, agreeing completely with that statement. "We sure do. I have to admit, though, we hit it right off over the holidays." Funny how that had happened. Was he complaining, though? Nah! And.......... SMIRK. "A little too many people around, I'd say. It's a shame." For reasons.

"That's true. I'm an appreciator of a nice pair of jeans, if they're worn right." And Grayson tooootally wore his well. And Ruby again, predictably, was right on hand with the ego boosting. Wink.
"Might as well act like it now. You're top to me already, Gray, no matter what you decide to do when you graduate, right?" Potions or something else who knew? She hoped he wasn't quite so stressed about it as he had been, he did seem more at ease at least. Hmm thoooughhh was she looking forward to anything? "Aside from Summer? Just getting out of here, I guess. Ummm... I was thinking, because you made me think about it actually, with all the stuff with your mum and everything, maybe when I get done with school I could do this and get paid for it." 'This' was emphasized with Ruby showing off her nails which were painted black with bright bursts of fireworks, charmed to 'burst' periodically on each nail. She was pretty proud of how she'd managed to do them actually, and she did find it fun painting all the girls' nails at school. "I know its not like some respectable career or whatever, but it might be something I can actually do, you know?" She didn't need to be all book smart to do it either, and he knew how she felt about all of that. It wasn't exactly a plan though, to answer his questions, she was definitely far more inclined to just... see how things went. Better not to get your hopes up sometimes.
Hit it off. Yeah they totally had. She couldn't help but wonder if it would be different now though if Sophie had been on the field trip. Probably. That would suck.
"Too bad neither of us believe in fate." Ruby said, smiling slightly, focusing squarely on Grayson again. SOOO much more interesting than introspective stuff or thinking too much about what was in her own head. She studied him for a moment and her smile widened. "Did I mention you look really good tonight?"

Aww look he wasn't classified as worse people. One point for him! Of course he wasn't the best of people either....was he middle people? Was that even a thing? Hmmm....James looked at Zoe and smirked, "You're on. One genuine Zoe cheek kiss," he said with a wink. Flexing his bicep he grinned. "Pretty sure I got this." That's right of course he was going to do it had she said he'd get nothing as well so there was that.
He saw her eyes widen and he raised an eyebrow. Seriously...it was a box of chocolate. He'd eaten like ten today alone...well not really but still. Shrugging he laid back down, "Welcome." Girls were weiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiird. "If you get any of those coconut ones though I want one." Mmmmm coconut. He tilted his head back so everyone was looking like they were upside down. Spotting Ruby he gave her a slight wave to her and her friend. Upside down people!!!!! Yup...wayyyyyyyyy too much sugar today.
He turned onto his stomach and looked up at Zoe, "For future reference...eating a whole box of chocolate frogs is probably not the best idea to keep one stable." But he couldn't help it!!!! Well..he could but he didn't want to.
