| | |  Astronomy Lesson 3 :: Field Trip to the National Space Centre
The Astronomy classroom looks a bit more vacant than usual as all the chairs are stacked neatly on each desk with their legs sticking upwards. The windows are closed to keep the chilly winds out and the professor's desk at the front of the room has an array of strange things placed upon it. There is also a backpack sitting on the desk next to a stack of museum pamphlets. A box of brown envelopes with each student's name written upon them in Professor Flamsteed's slightly illegible handwriting is not too far away. The chalkboard behind the desk simply reads:
Quote: Take a pamphlet and envelope each.
Please give your permission slip to the professor.
Portkey in half an hour. Professor Flamsteed, back in a suit, is standing beside the chalkboard with a nervous smile upon his face as he hums to himself while waiting for students to file in.
Did you remember to use the lint roller on the small table outside of the classroom? It was there next to the sign that reads, "Not to be used as a brush for your hair" and has the signature of a former student in the bottom right corner.
So come on in and get ready to boldly go where no has gone before!

Hady listened as the Professor spoke her mind shifting to the money she'd placed into her backpack for a moment. So it was more then a galleon. It didn't really matter much right this moment so she refocused her attention on what was being said.
Professor Airey was counting down! It was time to go. Seeing as he was closest to her at that moment it only made sense to her to go stand beside him. Moving quickly she stood beside the Professor and grabbing onto the Kazoo firmly. All that mattered now was getting there in one piece and not getting sick when she did. | |

............Gabe didn't know what to do. The WIDE EYED staring and face moisture continued on, and he was seconds away from backing out of the room. It was too much. He felt overwhelmed, the excitement slowly starting to dwindle...
...YET, HE DIDN'T WANT TO MISS THIS. It was a SPACE related field trip. Gabe enjoyed SPACE related everything...
Suddenly, something white was being thrust in his direction and he blinked, focusing on the white-something.....and then, on the hand it belonged to.....AND THEN, the face it belonged to. What? It was the girl from the fireworks festival; the one that had been sitting with Eden....A quiet girl....but STILL A GIRL......and Gabe didn't understand what she was trying to give him. Not until she'd said 'For your face'....
A handkerchief.
Not trusting it....because girls enjoyed being funny and playing pranks on him, Gabe quietly declined....finally making up his mind about the field trip. Toby was there in the crowd, and for some reason, that made him feel leagues better. Most likely since the Hufflepuff had saved him in Astronomy last time; a further calming revelation. Not to mention his Housemates around Flamsteed, too....(Kyroh, Maddilocks, Sophie)....
Time was running out...as the teacher began counting down.
OKAY, okay. Gabriel quickly grabbed the item everyone was touching and clenched his eyes shut; the feeling of portkeying never agreeing with his stomach.

Thornton tugged on the bottom of his jacket, feeling oddly self-conscious about his choice of outfit now that more people were arriving. It had felt completely normal to him - going out meant dressing nicely. Even if he'd wanted to wear a sweatshirt, though, he certainly didn't have any.
Maybe he would talk to Seren about talking to his parents...
He smiled at Eden and the other girl who had walked up after her. But Professor Flamsteed was giving instructions and so there was no more time for socializing! He'd see about getting Penelope and Dot properly introduced later.
And maybe one of them would be his buddy?
Stepping forward as Professor Flamsteed counted down, Thornton slipped his bag strap over his head, so it crossed his chest. Reaching out, he grabbed tightly on the wooden spoon and closed his eyes.
And maybe held his breath.

Of COURSE Grayson wasn't gonna tag along with Lottie and Lex. What had happened the last time the three of them had worked together for something? Had there been ruined pizza? Or the three had been split up and he ended up finding a note stuck to the back of his robes. All in all, it was either a brilliant idea or the worst one ever.
Besides, he needed his OWN people to hang around with. Where were THEY? HMMMM?
There was no time to think about that because Flammy-o was counting down and the numbers were getting closer and closer to 1.

WAIT!? How did they get down to 10 so fast. He was starting to feel a little nervous. What happened if he lost his grip. He shook his head out of those thoughts. He saw others gripping onto it. He had the white hand grip going on.

It was then that she noticed Ian was at the same portkey as she was. Contrary to popular belief, AJ could big a big girl sometimes. She proved just that by keeping her little trap shut. Honestly, she was just too excited to worry about any drama.
The numbers on the countdown were getting smaller, and AJ's heart beat was picking up speed. It was adventure time and she couldn't have been anymore stoked. 5...4...3...2...1!!!!!!!
Sh felt the pulling sensation deep in her belly, and it lurched her towards oblivion. Everything was blurry and her head was spinning. This was awesome.

The last ten seconds seemed to go far slower than the rest of the makeshift countdown going down. Thankfully Angel and Adi was with him and AJ seemed to be with Lex so their group was all secure with their portkeys. Benny himself braced himself for the feeling they were often warned about and he had experienced a few times for one thing or another. It didn't seem to get any easier each time.

Hazel eyes slightly narrowed with curiosity were on Maddie Cooper.
What was she on about? Goldilocks? Porridge? Merlin... Her little Ravenclaw mentoree. She glanced back and forth between the professor and the younger girl from a distance, making sure that he was doing a good job of keeping his eyes on her. Which... it seemed he was. She shot concerned faces over to Soph as the countdown begun.
So far.... whatever madness was going on didn't seem terrible... no after effects or anything... At least none she'd seen....

Before Toby knew it, they were nearly at the end of the countdown. He had a brief moment of panic in those last few seconds and found himself looking around to see if everyone here had hold of a portkey, but was glad to see that everyone was catching on.
Soph had his hand, and Toby smiled back at her, before looking around at everyone at the kazoo portkey.
Maddie. Was Maddie okay? Seemed like she'd caught The Bug. Y'know, THE Bug, the Fairy Tale Bug, but Airey seemed to have a handle on it. And then Gabe, was HE okay? Toby glanced at him TOO just to CHECK 'cause he didn't seem a hundred percent okay and, well, Toby was just forever concerned about people, y'know? Wanted to make sure everyone was A-OKAY.
Even as he looked around, Toby felt that PULL and before he knew it they were OFF with the portkey...

Jasmine held tightly to the wooden spoon and checked her classmates to make sure they were holding on properly. As the countdown got closer to zero, she started to dread what was coming. It would all be worth it though, once they arrived at their destination. Jasmine unconsciously held her breath. Then the count hit one followed by a familiar familiar sensation taking over. They were on their way. Jasmine wondered if this was what it felt like when you were actually in space.

Dot was sort of prepared for what would happen when the professor gave the word. She'd done this before. Loads of times. Or... at least a few. Once, for sure. So it wasn't a surprise or anything. Even still, she suddenly felt an ugly whirling in her stomach, a yucky vommy feeling.
And then they were gone.

Angel was a bit worried when the Professor started to count down, she was holding onto the object that her boyfriend Benny had told her and she was waiting, seriously were they all going to blast off or where they all just going to take forever this was going to be interesting.
Angel suddenly felt a lunge and she was leaving Hogwarts but this wasn't how they did it at her old school when they had taken buses and things, this was totally different.
