One of the corridors on the third floor is home to a large collection of armour. Be careful not to touch or the caretaker, Finn, may give you detention to clean up your fingerprints (and everyone else's). Also, did you know the armour moves? It's also heavily armed.
Cassie had planned a little best friend time, but not in their usual places, no she wanted something different so she had Nessa meeting her at the Suits of Armor. She needed to do some monitoring of the corridors anyway, it was her day. So why not catch up with her friend while doing it. Checking out the third floor all the students seem to be doing just fine. None seemed to be causing trouble nor where they shouldn't be.
Making her way down she stopped and turned into the Armor. Looking around she smiled, it had been awhile since she made it over here and the Armor was always fun to look at. She had never seen it move in her time as a student, but she had always wished it would.
Taking a seat off in the corner she looked at the suits just standing in a line and waited on Nessa to join her.
Nessa headed happily up to the third floor from the kitchen, carrying a blanket and basket full of food. She wasn't sure exactly what the sweet little elves had made for her, but she thought they'd be cute little sandwiches for their indoor picnic. It was far too cold for an outdoor one, even if it wasn't as cold as last year, but she had gotten good at indoor picnics because of the sub arctic temperatures of last winter.
And what better place to have an indoor picnic than one of her favorite childhood spots from when she was a student here - the third floor corridor that had many of the castle's suits of armor. When she was a girl, she used to come here and imagine great stories about the suits... and sometimes they'd even act out a few of them for her! What fun that was.
Heading down the corridor, she beamed and the suits of armor and gave them a cheerful wave. They were currently inanimate and she wasn't sure they could see her, but why not be polite all the while. "Hi, Cassie!" she greeted her best friend with a grin as she spread out the blanket on the floor next to her. "Let's see what the elves made for us!" She took a seat at the edge of the blanket and set the basket down before opening it up.

Being back after Christmas break was always nice. The students were back busy working and it seemed pretty quiet in this area of the castle, so while Cassie waited she stared at the armor and just daydreamed. That is until she heard a familiar voice in which she turned and beamed at her friend. "Nesssa" It was always so great to see her best friend!
Scooting down tot he blanket, Cassie watched wide eyed, "You really have such great planning skills. This is all wonderful. The blanket and having the house elves do food." It was all just wonderful. She watched as the History Professor started pulling out the food, "So how is everything going?" They didn't see each other much over break since she had spent most of it with her family, but they did see each other for the wedding fun and she had got to tell her about her doubts as a professor this term and how Zander had confirmed the thoughts, even though he was on a potion.
"So what have they made us today?" She was actually pretty hungry now that she stopped and thought about it.

Looking up from the basket as she sat cross-legged on the blanket, Nessa beamed at her best friend as she complemented her picnic idea. "Oh I'm so glad you think so! I've been craving a little indoor picnic and I thought today would be the perfect day to have one." Her bright smile dimmed just slightly as she was questioned, even if she knew it was just for small talk, Nessa still had a twinge of self-doubt. She supposed that had a lot to do with her still being new, but it was still nagging at the back of her head.
"Things are going just fine," she said, sitting back just a bit. "A little quiet on the first floor, but fine.." She would have thought that more students would seek her out and she wasn't sure if it was because they were learning sufficiently and didn't need her advice or if she was starting to get the reputation of being mean with the several disciplinary actions she had to take in some of her classes. That little thought was eating at her but she hoped that it wasn't really the case. She had a few things that she had wanted to put into place this term and she just wasn't sure that the students would be interested. But maybe it was that doubt that really said that she did need to put her plans into action.
"Well, let's see," she said as she dug into the basket. "Oh!" she squealed, pulling some of the food out. "Look at the cutest little sandwiches ever!" Tiny little layered finger sandwiches that couldn't be more than a bite or two each. And macaroni salad. And deviled eggs. And fruit compote. Nessa pulled all the items out along with plates, silverware, and napkins. "So tell me.. how are things going since we've gotten back?" Maybe it was just a second year of teaching thing that they were both having some questions about things, but certainly they'd work it all out.

“Well it was certainly a fabtastic idea.” She snapped for her best friend. It was just a wonderful idea. She loved picnics and their indoor ones were the best, “Though I do like our daydream ones like we had last term, but this is fun with the Armor. It’s kind of like we have our own personal body guards while eating.” She giggled, really they would never need body guards, but it was fun to suggest anyway.
Quiet on the first floor? Cassie nodded, she had to think if it was quiet on the seventh floor. Her office had a few visitors, but it was children with such different issues, but quiet? “Well there was a huge commotion the other day, but I think Airey was just getting overly excited in class or something.” She shrugged it wasn’t like the man wasn’t easily excited so she thought nothing of it and didn’t bother to even leave her Divination area. “What are you meaning by quiet? Like no one around or just no trouble going on?” She frowned a bit at the thought, “I’ve had a few run in’s lately, I had the oddest one with Zander the other day.” She shook her head, he was very mean, but at the same time she was struggling with the truth of it.
Focusing on the basket again Cassie was all smiles and snapping for the food. “It’s soooo cute.” How were they going to eat such cute little things. The elves always did such a fabulous job. Though she was hungry so of course she took a plate and some food to start eating. “They don’t have any meat on them, right?” She knew her best friend knew she was a vegetarian, but would the elves realize she was going to beating them too.
Taking a bite of the deviled egg she shrugged, “Things are going alright. Still thinking about revamping my lesson for my next class into something easier. I just think I’ve failed this term.” She wasn’t one that liked that word and scrunched up her nose. She needed to stay positive and she tried to think of a way.

Awww... Nessa beamed as Cassie snapped for her. She was glad she thought of it too, it was sure to be fun. "Oh we must have another daydream lunch sometime soon too!" Those were the best, especially the beach ones, though they did those plenty last year with the harsh winter they had. This was a nice change of pace too. "I wonder if they'll decide to entertain us today." She focused her attention on several of the armored suits a moment, almost expecting them to do something. Ok, they weren't.. but maybe they would later.
"A commotion?" Nessa turned her attention back onto Cassie, fixing her with a quizzical look. At least it didn't sound too bad.. she knew that Airey was the type of professor that wouldn't let the students get out of control, but she could see him getting a little excitable himself, though not necessarily in a bad way. "Oh he is so passionate about his subject, isn't he?" That must have been it. She smiled, then shrugged a bit. It was sure to be no big deal. Nessa shrugged again, struggling to find the right words for what she meant. "I guess it's more that no one is around. I don't get many visitors," she said taking a bite of cucumber sandwich. "I suppose that's not a bad thing," she shrugged. "Maybe it just means that no one is struggling.." But she did find it a little unnerving all the same. Pulling herself from those thoughts, she tilted her head a bit as Cassie mentioned Zander. "Oh.. you did tell me about that, have you seen him since then?" That had been so odd from what her best friend told her. She had never known Zander to be so mean and it made her not only feel bad for Cassie to be treated that way, but also wonder what could be going on with the young Gryffindor.
Nessa giggled as she popped a little finger sandwich into her mouth. They were simply the cutest, she could hardly stand it. Glancing into the basket, she shook her head, "Oh no, they are all vegetables and cream cheese and.. oh oops, all but these." There were a couple with bacon on them and Nessa snatched them up before taking a bite of one. The brunette frowned and shook her head. "Oh don't say that, you haven't failed." What was this? She had never known Cassie to be anything but positive, even in the most dire of situations. Something must truly be wrong for her to say something like that. "I guess things are always a learning experience.. sometimes you just have to gauge what the students know or can handle.." That was one thing she learned from the teachers at WADA when she assisted there. "But you are an expert in your field, you have so much to offer and teach them," she added with a beaming smile. There wasn't a better Divination teacher around.

“Yes we totes should. Last years were soooo much fun.” She just adored them and it was Nessa’s idea, which made it even better. Her green eyes moved back to the armor, entertain us, “You think they might?” She had actually never seen them move, not even as a student. The place was fun and exciting, but it would be even more exciting if they moved for them.
“Yes, I could hear students being super loud and I’m positive Airey was too, but it was probably nothing. Honestly they were probably just having sooo much fun in class.” She wasn’t worrying about it and if it was that much fun she wished she would have checked it out. “He really is, it’s soo nice to see Professors so dedicated to their work. OMG speaking of work.” She pulled a magazine form her bag with page opened. “Guess who got published in Divination weekly.” Showing her best friend the article, she was just so excited. She thought about her friend’s words, “Well maybe you are just such an amazing teacher that no one feels the need to ask questions. I mean the ones I’ve gotten this year are all confusion about the topics or apologizing for not doing better.” She frowned knowing Zanders words were true. She wasn’t doing her job and she was failing to help them this term. She had to bring it down a bit.
“Yes he came to my office, well I told him he had to or he was losing points. It was a potion that they were doing for class. Thank Merlin nothing was seriously wrong with the boy. Though it made him speak the truth.” She bit into her sandwich before anymore negativity came out. No Cassie wasn’t a negative dwelling person so she was going to try to stay focused on the positive. “Well after Zanders words it got me thinking that maybe I have.” She was having internal struggles between happy and unhappy, which was never the case for her. “I know I should be, but I just feel that maybe I’m not.” If they were that confused and that unable to focus into a Crystal ball, well maybe she wasn’t being a good enough teacher. “Maybe I need to hit the library again for a few more books.” Find a better topic, though the thought of the library did bring a small smile to her face. She did enjoy the library. “Thank you for thinking of me with the veggie, it’s always super sweet.” She knew many people just forgot, but it was always nice of Nessa to remember.

Nessa was already mentally planning new daydream lunches for the two of them to have, she really should have brought her planner with her so she could quill in a few dates. But she was certain that she'd at least remember the general idea if not the details and they could have one in a week or so. She lifted her brown eyes to the suits of armor again, and grinned in anticipation. "Mayyybee.." She was sure they were about to move at any second. Or not. "I guess they're temperamental," she shrugged. "It was always just random when I saw them move before." And she supposed it had been a while since she had seen them last. But she was going to keep an eye on them while they were here...
Her focus was really on her best friend though and she turned her brown eyes on her as she talked about the rambunctious class near her room. Smiling, she nodded in agreement. "Oh you're right, that's probably all it was." From what she knew of Airey, he was so passionate about his subject and she would guess that he made his lessons so much fun for his students. "I wonder if he would mind if I sat in on a lesson one day.." she mused aloud. She loved to see how other teachers taught their classes and she wondered just how the man made Astronomy fun.
She was lost in that thought a moment, but quickly snapped out of it at Cassie's next words. "WHAAAT?" Nessa gave a little scream, followed by excited claps and snaps. How terribly exciting!!! Quickly she grabbed the magazine and scanned the article, visibly impressed. "Oh this is amazing! Congratulations!" She'd have to read it later, but for now she set the magazine down and gave her friend a hug. She was sooo happy for her!
Her happy grin dimmed just a bit, thinking about the quietness that surrounded the first floor and she shrugged a bit at Cassie's words. "Oh,I don't know.. maybe.." At least that was what she told herself, but she still had a nagging doubt in the back of her mind that told her a different story. And she thought over Cassie's views on her own visitors, especially Zander. "A potion?" Nessa frowned. What sort of potion did students have to take for class that would make them say such harsh words. And she would hardly say that was the truth. "Teaching has really presented itself as a challenge for us, hasn't it?" she started, thinking aloud. But that was a good way to look at it too and she smiled widely. "That will only help us to get better at it. And I know you will work out just what you need to do for your students. You're an expert in your field!" The published article proved it and no one had more patience with children that Cassie did. Challenges were just life's way of making stronger, better people. And listen to her already trying to think of ways to help her students.. that just proved her point. Not everyone would do that.
"Oh you are welcome," Nessa smiled sweetly as she picked up another little cucumber sandwich from the basket and popped it into her mouth. The brunette wasn't strictly a vegetarian, but there were delightful choices to be had from that type of menu anyway. These sandwiches could attest to that!

Her green eyes were still on the suit of armor as her friend talked about them. “You got to see them move? How cool is that? I never did see them, that would be so ah-mazing.” She would very much like to see that. Yes how fun that could be, though she didn’t want them to ruin their picnic either, so maybe they shouldn’t come alive today.
Taking a bite of her sandwich she nodded a bit, “I don’t know, he might. He doesn’t come off as someone that would mind. He’s actually very helpful and nice.” She had asked him a few things the last two terms and he was always willing to help. Such a nice factor with all the staff really. “I bet it would be fun to sit in on one of his lessons. You’ll have to tell me all about it if you do.” She might have to sit in as well, it might not be a bad idea with the second guessing she was doing with her own lessons.
Giggles surely left her lips as her best friend got excited about the magazine. ”Thank you. The last issue had a debate on necromancy and if all forms of the use are dark. I just couldn’t just sit and let them say that. I have never used it for dark reasons. So I wrote up my views and research on it and how it really should come across.” She beamed very excited over it. She hugged Nessa back and gave a few snaps in all the excitement. “I might write another article for them later, they said the loved this one and would enjoy seeing more.” She couldn’t help but think maybe her own face could be on the cover of one. How many years has she read Divination weekly and dreamed of that possibility?
Sighing she couldn’t help but agree, “It has, but that is no need to get into a negative filled pool, we just have to be more positive and the rest will come.” She would think that way, it was the only way she ever tried to think. Eating some more of the sandwiches she couldn’t help but agree. “Exactly, we will figure it out and both be ah-mazing professors! You have the best classes, they are so fun and interesting I know the students just love you! You can tell by how they react in your room.” It was soooo fun to come and watch, she’d have to visit another lesson before the end of term.

"Mhmm," Nessa nodded happily, her brown eyes glancing furtively at the suits of armor. Still nothing. Had there been a trick to it? She couldn't quite remember so maybe it was truly random. "Oh you haven't" She looked back at Cassie again. "Well, I haven't seen them move since we were students, but I used to come here every once in a while and sometimes they would move for me." Come to think of it, it had never been a time when she was with Cassie. Had she always been alone when they moved? Or was she here with someone else?
The History of Magic professor grew a bit lost with this thought as she popped another deviled egg into her mouth, nodding along distractedly as they spoke more about Professor Flamsteed and sitting in on his class. "Oooh, we should visit all of the classes!" she said suddenly as she had a super fun idea. "Or at least some of them." There were subjects that she admittedly had little interest in though it still might be fun to see the teaching styles. "It's such a different experience than when you are a student.." But Cassie would know that as she had sat in on a few of hers as well as the other way around.
She could not be prouder of her best friend and the beam on her face surely reflected that. "Oh, it's simply wonderful!" But then she let out a little gasp. Dark purposes? "Oh who would do that?" What a horrible thought. She hated to think such evil existed though she knew it did. It was much better believing in the inherent good in people like she knew they should be. "I'm so glad that you did.. you should share your expertise with the divining world and show them how it should be done." And the another gasp, this time it was out of excited surprise. "Oooh another? That's great! Your name is going to be so well known!" And why shouldn't it? She really was such an expert. Nessa thought for a moment how fun it might be to have an article in her favorite performing arts publication.. wouldn't that just be so exciting?
"Yes, that's right," she nodded happily. "Only good things can come from positive thinking." Being aware of anything that needed changed and being positive about it all would only help them in the long run, she was sure of it. Nessa smiled sweetly at Cassie's kind words. "Well, I hope they enjoy it.. It really is my intention for them to learn while having fun." It was always her experience that re-enacting history had that two-fold effect. "I just hope they are actually learning though.."

That was just super cool that she had seen them. The blonde had obviously not come here often enough or when they were sleeping. Was that it, were they sleeping now? Of course she knew the truth, but it was fun to think about Suits of Armor sleeping. “hmmm, it’s just interesting that they only move at certain times. I wonder what could make them move.” Was it something bad or were they just like hey going to move now!
“That totes is a great idea! We so should go and observe the other professors. What a great learning experience for us that would be.” She thought of the different staff members that she was honored to work with. Would they mind? She figured some would maybe not like others in their classes, but if it was for learning teaching styles, would they really mind?
Yes it was super exciting and Cassie couldn’t be showing more excitement then she was just at that moment with her friend. “Oh there are plenty. We just use it to call the spirits and talk with them, some actually use bodies to make them come alive so to speak and do their bidding. Terrible thing really.” She shuddered at the thought, “but I think the way I use it and so many others is not dark at all. So saying it is all dark is just very wrong.” “Oh gosh, no! It’s just Divination weekly, so not too many people read it. Just ones that actually follow Divination as much as I do.” She couldn’t even wrap her mind around being well known. She liked being just known to some.
She looked into the basket to grab something else, all the food just looked so yummy she couldn’t help herself. “Oh I think they are. That lesson last term was so much fun and there was learning involved.” She still had that adorable picture hanging in her office. “You are an amazing professor and I just know the students adore you.” How could they not!

As quieted as a mouse the book suddenly appeared near one of the Suits of Armour. Did the Armour just move or was it just the book appearing with it's very welcoming glow that could catch the eye of anyone that might fall upon it.
It's leather binding and golden letters seemed to brighten as the glow from within grew more.

Nessa had been wondering that herself and just couldn't come up with anything. What did those handful of times that she saw the suits of armor move have in common? Maybe it really was just when they felt like it though and there was nothing they could do to initiate it though. Oh well, she was probably overthinking things and she gave a little shrug and chuckle to Cassie's musings.
"That would be so fab!" Nessa sat back and crossed her legs at the ankles in front of her. "I think we can totes work around our own schedules.. maybe even just see one different class a week till we get them all." How fun that would be and they were sure to learn something observing class and teaching methods. Oh but she was horrified at the thought of someone using necromancy for dark purposes and she gave Cassie a scandalized look as she mentioned people actually using dead bodies to come alive. "No! How dreadful!" No, she simply could not imagine something so terrible and she shuddered at the thought. "Goodness, yes.. I think it's your duty to make sure people are correctly informed and educated." She was so glad that she wrote that article so people knew the proper usage. "Oh but you'll be so well known in your Divination circles." That was still so exciting!
Cassie was so sweet and encouraging to talk about her and her classes like that. Giving her a modest but grateful smile, she said, "Thanks! And I really hope so.." She thought they enjoyed class but as she was thinking earlier, there was still that nagging doubt. Nessa pulled out some fruit from the basket when she noticed a movement out of the corner of her eyes. "Wait.. did you see that?" Nessa looked over at the suits.. were they moving? She smiled widely in anticipation, watching them, but no, they weren't. Nothing. But her eyes soon fell on a book that was right next to the suits of armor, one that she hadn't noticed before.
"Oh, what's this?" Nessa got up and picked up the book, bring it back to her spot on the blanket. "Did you bring this book?" She ran her hand over the cover. What a delightful looking book. Such a rich leathery cover and was it glowing? The Fairy Book of Fairy Tales.. sounded like there were some great stories in it.

Ooooh Nessa had such great ideas! They could totes see all the other classes. "We should make a list and get to asking them." Term was already into February so they didn't have long before it would be June. Time just seemed to fly by so quickly. She was certainly making a mental list in her head and it was distracting her as Nessa spoke about the dreadful ways people thought. Which finally brought her out of her own head again. "Yes, it need to be shown that Divination isn't just for dark uses. It is a fantastic thing that can be of use for great things, but not dark." It was sad the views of some.
She blushed and was about to say more about the circle when Nessa suddenly got distracted by something. Where they moving? Her green eyes moved to the Armor just to notice Nessa going to get something. "No, I didn't have any books with me. Though if it's a lost library book I could certainly take it back to it's rightful place." She grinned a little too much at that thought. She always enjoyed a reason to go to the library.
Looking over her friends shoulder she read the title. "Fairy Tales? I haven't read fairy tales since I was a child. I wonder which ones are in it." Maybe it had Beauty and the Beast or The three little pigs. She just loved those stories.

Nessa had forgotten for a moment the plans they had for visiting the classes of their colleagues. This book was so enticing and she was certain that it was glowing, that it had captured her interest for the time being. Though she did lift her brown eyes momentarily as Cassie spoke. It wasn't hers, hmm?
Nessa couldn't help but giggle a bit and nudge her friend playfully. "Oh, sure.. of course you wouldn't mind returning it to the library, would you?" Yes, she knew exactly why she wouldn't mind a little trip to the library. "Well, let's see," she began turning the book over in her hands. Nothing identifiable as to whom it might belong. "Maybe we should take it there.. I mean, why would it just be laying on the floor in the corridor?" It probably was a good idea as she didn't want it to get ruined just being on the floor. But it wouldn't hurt to look through it first right? It was almost beckoning her to open and she was so curious about it.
Grinning up at Cassie she slid over closer upon hearing her words. "I don't know.. why don't we find out?" Of course, she had read plenty of stories and fairy tales in recent times as she often employed literary devices in her performances and in her classes, but this book seemed like it held so many stories in it and she just had to see. And she opened up the book, beginning to leaf through the pages.

Cassie couldn't help but blush, yes they both knew why she wouldn't mind taking it to the library. Watching as Nessa looked it over. "Maybe Leo would know where it belongs if it doesn't have a tag." All the library books had a tag on them saying Hogwarts Library didn't they? She tried to remember the many books that she had checked out this term.
Shaking her head, "No it should be just left in the corridor, what if someone is looking for it. We should take it to him, I mean to the library." She chuckled and maybe fluffed her hair a bit thinking about possibly seeing someone.
Watching her friend move closer she leaned towards the book to get a better look. "See if Beauty and the Beast is in there. My mum use to read that one to me all the time." As she opened it, Cassie couldn't help but notice the pages just looked so bright and welcoming. Oh her favorites were in there. She moved closer to read.

"Mhmm," Nessa murmured distractedly to Cassie's words, not really paying attention anymore. The book somehow had captured her full focus and it was like nothing outside of it existed as her eyes skimmed the pages, absorbing the words and the story within as she slowly turned page after page.
They were fairy tales like she had never read before, even if she had, but somehow they were more magical and engaging. She loved stories and she was fully engaged. Was Cassie reading too? It wasn't like Nessa to be so rude or inconsiderate, but she was so absorbed in the book that she pretty much forgot about anything around her, including her best friend. Even if she was vaguely aware of her presence next to her.. all that she was focused on was this amazing book.

Wow this was amazing! Cassie was moving even closer to her best friend just to get more of the book. She wasn't exactly taking it from her, but she was starting to invade the personal space, but how could she not. These stories were ah-mazing and the way the text was on the paper it just made her want to read more.
She never took her eyes off of it, but did put her hand on Nessa's so stop before flipping the page. She was a bit of a slower reader then her friend it seemed. Once finished she lifted her hand to say move to the next. How these stories spoke to her and she soon forgot about the Library, where the book came from, and even the Suits of Armor with all her focus on just reading.

They were reading and the book liked to be read. It showed that it enjoyed being read by it's pages beginning to glow more. It's warmth moving towards both women tickling their skin.
Were they enjoying what they were reading, it hoped that they were. It's a magical thing to have read it's pages.
What... Where was she? Lifting her head from the book, she looked around the corridor as it seemed so foreign to her. She was trapped.. trapped in this castle and needed to find a way out. But how would she escape the witch when she was at the top of the tallest tower?
A window.. that was what she needed. But she didn't immediately see one. Standing up, she let the book slide off of her lap unknowingly as she then noticed the woman at her side. Could she help her escape..? But not if she was the witch who had trapped her.. was she? She wasn't taking any chances and she quickly hurried down the hall in search of that elusive window.

This book was just amazing, she could feel the warmth of the stories just surrounding her. It was such a wonderful feeling and the stories, the stories she had read over and over as a child, they just seemed brand new to her. Having the urge to flip the page she moved it to the next one and started reading...
......
her stare blank for a moment and then a smirk played on her lips. This story was of her and her greatness. This story was of her and her accomplishments, but why was she reading it? Closing the book she looked down at the title. "Fairy Tales?" What was this? She looked around confused to where she was. Had she wandered into a part of the castle that she wasn't aware of?
Standing she fixed her dress and looked at it questioningly. What on earth was she wearing? No this wouldn't do. Taking her book she headed out of the area to find her bedroom and find a more presentable outfit. Then she had business to take care of. Very important business.
