Once you have followed Professor Tanner through the castle, out the front doors, and through the courtyard, you come to a small slab of concrete. Had that been there before? Next to this possibly new stretch of path you can find stacks of sidewalk chalk in almost every color of the rainbow.
Tiara stood next to one of these stacks. "Alright everyone, circle up and take a seat, please."

Since he didn't feel like trying to draw Flamsteed, especially concerned about insulting his head of house, Benny finally decided to show the man by using other images. And what better way the astronomy professor but through the celestial objects that he focused on in his life's work. So with varying colors of sidewalk chalk, the fourth year proceeded to draw a couple of the more distinguishable planets and a handful of stars. Surely that should work for him.
Now for Adi he decided to draw his friend but not portrait or in close detail. A representation of the Hufflepuff complete with badger prefect badge to identify him. So glancing up at Adi for a few moments, he bit the inside of his cheek before going to work. First the general shape of a person. Then what could be robes and school clothes. And then the professor spoke of only a few minutes left.
Yikes...guess he wouldn't be doing any more besides his pictures.
Taking up another piece of chalk, he added the badge and the dark floofy hair. And finally for good measure his name. A-d-i. And that was all he wrote, the fourth year picking up his supply of sidewalk chalk and getting up, depositing it from where he had taken it and preparing to leave.

Drawing with chalk? Caleb was a bit skeptical but it was definitely a lot better than having to do calculations. He flipped through his textbook and picked out all the master numbers, looking up their meanings. He decided to go with 33 - he was pretty sure he had a good idea of what to draw for that.
He grabbed some chalk, deciding to go with the pink color first, and got to work on his concrete slab that he had picked out. Here goes nothing!

After consulting her textbook, Jasmine came up with a few more ideas of what to add to her drawing. First she drew a lighthouse because those associated with the number eleven can be a guiding light to others . Just as lighthouses guide ships to safety, eleven people can show others the way to whatever they may be searching for.
Then Jasmine drew a profile of a person's head, only this head had two faces back to back. This represented the duel nature of eleven. They desired different things and each half was always battling with the other over what they wanted. Last but not least, Jasmine drew a balance beam . She started to draw someone wobbling on top of it, but she changed her mind. Since Master number eleven was often associated with someone teetering on the edge, Jasmine thought that the beam could give a good representation of that. They might stay on it and be stable or they could just as easily fall off into something bad.
Since the Professor had warned that class would soon be over, Jasmine tried to wrap things up with her drawing.

The bell to end the period rang loud and clear across the grounds. "Alright, that's all for today! Homework is posted on the announcements board, due next Wednesday." Or was that this Wednesday? She could never keep straight how to say that. "Make sure the chalk gets back in the boxes and have a good day!"

Figuring he was done and dusted, Zeke returned the chalk and collected his things. "Thanks Professor Tanner!" he said as he started to depart to his next lesson. What did he have again???
She smiled warmly at the little lion. "You're welcome, Mister Rogers. I look forward to seeing you again in class!" He would be continuing on with the subject, yes?
OOC: The activity is over, but I'll leave the thread open for a little bit if you want to RP admiring others' work or saying goodbye.

The lesson was over already? It seemed to happen so fast, but then Lux hadn't been herself for half of it soooooo...
Still feeling weird about the whole thing, she looked over the artwork. They had done such an awesome job. "It was nice working with you, Toby," she said giving her fellow Puff a smile. He was so nice like most Hufflepuffs. Hufflepuff really was the second best House after Gryffindor.
Getting back to her feet, she dusted off her hands and placed the blue chalk back into the box. "Thank you for the lesson, Professor. And for being so nice to me." What with her being confused and upset and all. The tea would be amazing right now and she'd find her boyfriend because he always made her feel better. Smiling at Professor Tanner, she waved goodbye before heading back to the castle.

Zhenya had put her finishing touches on her circle, and it was finished. She was not a good drawer, and hoped that wouldn't matter. Stick figures were artistic too, weren't they? She hoped…
She did as the Professor said and packed away her chalk, rubbing her hands on her pants to dust it off. Luckily her glove wasn't too dirty.

She WIGGLED her eyebrows at him at that and starting wiping her hands off on the inside of her robes where no one would see, but after wiping one clean, she thought better of it and, instead, gave Zander a nice pat on the shoulder with her one chalk-covered hand so that there was a handprint of chalk on his robes. And she giggled.
Sophie was TOTALLY his favorite friend ever, right?
She DID mean what she said about his treasure chest, especially when she saw his finished product - it definitely wasn't terrible AND she COULD tell what he wanted it to be. The concept was a little silly, but it wasn't so far out in left field that she thought it would go right over Tanner's head. Naw, it was super creative. So she had high hopes for Zander's butler, too.
Theodore, though? Soph snorted, "Where did that come from?" Did he know a butler named Theodore or something? Mmm, the confirmation of his Muggleborn status - well, that made a whole lot of sense. "All right. Welllllllllll. Since we're doing things... the Muggle AND the wizarding way here... I'm gonna... ooohh, I'll draw a house elf head in one of these windows, like it's looking outside!" The house wouldn't need both a butler AND a house elf, but it was just the representation of the home's wealthy status. Seemed obvious enough, didn't it? She snatched up a brown stick of chalk and got to work on that.
Zander was mentally scolding himself for not expecting that one from Sophie. She always had something to tease him about and yet he was never prepared for it. Ah. This time he was totally prepared for whatever she had to say! Zander Adair would not be fooled this-- Huh? Prefect? "Really?!" Actually, he had never really thought about what would happen after Bay left. Some of it was because he didn't really want the boy to leave, but the other bit was-- HEY! How come the one time he was actually ready for her to say something silly, she had to be all nice again? The eyebrow wiggling did make him chuckle a bit though. But erm, anyways. "Benny could be chosen too though," the other Gryffindor was just as qualified if not even more. And then of course, the Ravenclaw prefect would have to be Sophie. "Once you're Queen of Ravenclaw though, we can rule the school as royalty!" And Sophie said that he was King of Gryffindor already, so prefect or not, they could still rule the school. YUP.
He smiled all big at her and-- SOPHIE BROWN!!! Merlin. It's not like his robes weren't already chalky, but it wasn't as bad before. "Hey!" he laughed before trying to blow some of the dusty chalk bits from his hands at her. HEH. Two could play at this game? Sort of?
But wait, he had to finish the butler before the bell!! And since when did they have a bell?
"I dunno... I just thought it'd be fitting," he smiled. If Theodore didn't like his name he could change it. But it just sounded nice. 'Sides, then they could call him 'Theo' for short. It was already planned out, mhm. He nodded at the suggestion of the house elf and watched carefully as Sophie began to draw it in the window. He couldn't help but grin at the idea. It only made sense since they had all kinds of wealth being shown, yep. AND Tanner would love it. Turning back to his butler, he took a white piece of chalk to color in the hair, and then some black to fill in the clothing. Once he was finished with the drawing, he got up and took a step back, you know to admire everything.
And right on cue, the bell. "It looks awesome Sophie!!" And now to start cleaning up before the exit? Zander quickly grabbed one of the boxes and began stuffing chalk into it, just like Professor Tanner had asked. All the while, still glancing over at their hard work. Trying to soak it all in, you know?

Zander being so surprised about her compliments was just as funny to her as his reactions to her teasing, and she looked entirely too smug with herself as she sat back on her hands. Benny, though? "Pffffft. Bet Flamsteed likes you loads more than he does Benny." Flamsteed also probably knew that Zander was a bit of a mess sometimes, but... the professor ALSO seemed like the type to throw Zander in a leadership position to bring the best out of him and help him see all the good qualities he had. Harness that inner awesome Zander.
Queen of Ravenclaw, though? She snorted. "That'll be the day."
Waving the air of the chalk dust Zander blew at her, she grinned big at him and turned her hand-waving into a dismissive hand wave of his antics. She was unfaaaazed by him and his chalk dust. And the boy could name their butler whatever he wanted, she knew, but his reasoning was... quite humorous, and she briefly wondered if Zander thought the Theodore of the Kinsley variety was destined to be a butler or something of the sort.
Sophie helped Zander put all the chalk back into the boxes, nodding her agreement to his words. "We make a good team, Zanderpander. Let's do this again sometime." Work together, she meant, and she ruffled his hair with her slightly chalky hand affectionately. Hehehe.
"Thanks for the lesson, professor." Err... she WAS a professor now, wasn't she? Technically? Maybe? Sophie didn't know, but she offered the woman a smile and a wave anyway as she gathered her things up to leave. Much better than Domingo, Tanner was.
