Once you have followed Professor Tanner through the castle, out the front doors, and through the courtyard, you come to a small slab of concrete. Had that been there before? Next to this possibly new stretch of path you can find stacks of sidewalk chalk in almost every color of the rainbow.
Tiara stood next to one of these stacks. "Alright everyone, circle up and take a seat, please."
OOC: The activity is now closed. Thanks for playing!
Doves and a big yellow sun. Yeeeeeep, everything seemed to be going well so far. And Toby was still getting more and more ideas.
66. Master of Peace. Peace meant harmony and love and friendship and all things beautiful in his eyes, so many things that he had no idea how he'd manage to get everything into his little area of concrete. But there was one thing he was determined to get drawn here.
Toby took up some more chalk and began drawing lots of little stick people standing hand in hand, all in different colours to represent all the difference and variety in the world. Soon enough he had a big chain of stick people all stood with linked hands and it was all very happy and sort of warmed Toby's heart a little to think about. This was a brilliant stress-busting lesson task; Tanner was ace.
SPOILER!!: Tanner & Lux

But clearly this was not a good place for her to recover from the shock of her recent realization. "Do you need to heed up to the hospital wing, or perhaps to the kitchens for a cup of tea? Of course you're more than welcome to stay here and do your chalk drawing with the rest of the class, but we can have someone escort you back to your common room, anywhere you need to go if you'd rather." SHE wouldn't want to be in the middle of class going through something like this if it had happened to her.

"I think tea really sounds good right now." She has no idea what the activity even WAS.
Speaking of Tanner, Toby could hear her now. He had sat back, all the better to assess his chalk art, when the sound of her voice (and another, more distressed voice) distracted him. There was the girl from his house who'd been acting strangely earlier on. The Bug, of course. Toby wasn't sure what her and the professor were talking about now, as they were too far away from him to really hear (or maybe it was more that he was trying not to eavesdrop) but woe betide him if he ever pretended to not notice someone who was upset. Without really thinking about it, Tobias found himself calling out to them.
"Hey, uhh... Lux? It's Lux, right?" the Hufflepuff asked, fidgeting on his knees as he tried to remember if that WAS the girl's name. He was sure he'd heard her called that before. "D'you wanna come sit and work with me?" Or just watch, if she wanted. Toby didn't know the girl well at all, despite being in the same house, but he figured if she was upset the least he could do was... distract her? Cheer her up? Just... just be nice.
Still, he pretended like he'd not really noticed any upset, and made to pick up some pink chalk for his next addition to his creation while he awaited an answer. It was likely she'd choose not to come over of course, which was totally fine. It just didn't feel right to ignore her completely.

"Good call, Cool King of the Nerds," she jabbed affectionately, having not forgotten their conversation last term where he rightfully accepted his role as such.
His interpretation of emotionally rich was... creative, to say the least, and though it wasn't the route Sophie would have gone with it, she liked it. "That's smart. We can do that, too. Since it's your idea, you can draw that one, if y'want." She gave him a thumbs up of genuine approval. "And... maybe we need a HEART to demonstrate emotions, and FEELING emotionally rich, too, since we're probably gonna want more than one example of both kinds of wealth, yeah?" She could do that, and without waiting for his approval, she took the red chalk and drew a heart in her part of the square, shading it in fully with the red, then switched to a yellow one and drew squiggly lines emitting from around the heart as if the heart was shining because it was a HAPPY heart, like a ray of sunshine and a heart together in one.
...And then she took the black chalk and drew a simple smiley face on the heart. There. That was HER interpretation of emotionally wealthy.
"This isn't a competition, I don't think, but we're gonna win this." TEAM AWESOME.
Zander was still working on one of the coins when he heard Sophie. He gave her a big ol' thumbs up and a huge smile, before stopping at the mention of 'Cool King of the Nerds'. Man, he was never going to live that one down, was he? "You're never letting that one go.... Huh?" Eh, he figured as much really. Maybe he could come up with a silly name for her at some point. Either way, he turned his attention back to the chalk art and did a couple of outlines around his already drawn coinage. There. It looked great. Ahem, not as precise as Sophie's maybe... But it was still pretty good, okay? At least you could tell what it was. Mhm.
It was smart?! "Okay! Yeah, I'll start it!!" A Ravenclaw just said his idea was smart, people. Could they get bonus points for this one? Pleeeeaaaaseeee? Also not just any Ravenclaw, Sophie Brown. So double bonus points. Reaching over for a brown piece of chalk he began drawing a bit of the treasure chest, but paused with the tip of the chalk still touching the concrete. A Heart? "Yeah, I like that!" PFT, it was way better than his lame idea, anyway. How come he couldn't think of that. It was like the first thing someone thought of when they thought of feeling and emotion. A heart. Okay well he'd still work on the treasure chest? Continuing to draw the chest now, he took a yellow marker for the golden detailing. Mhm, he was making the next master piece right here people.
"Yeah we are!! We've definitely got the best ideas," they were Ravenclaw approved.

Hearing someone calling her name, Lux turned her gaze and was surprised to see that it was Toby. He seemed like a really nice boy, but she had never spoken to him properly as far as she could remember even though they were in the same House.
Grateful for his kindness, she nodded her head and then thanked the Professor for being so nice. The tea still sounded really nice but distracting herself might be better. Making her way over to him, she smiled. "I missed what we were supposed to be doing," she admitted before looking down at what was drawing.

"Yeah we are!! We've definitely got the best ideas," they were Ravenclaw approved.
"Nope, never," Soph teased him, grinning smugly. "I'll still be calling you that the day we graduate, mark my words." And if he thought she was bluffing, he clearly didn't know her well enough. Hehehehe.
She sat back on her hands, taking a break from her own creations to watch Zander at work. He was such a funny fellow, wasn't he? But in an endearing sort of way, not the laughing-at-him kind - rather, the kind where she wanted to pat his head and give him a hug and reassure him that the world wasn't out to get him and everything would be okay. He was so innocent. So sweet. So... weird, in all the best ways.
"You're a good artist," she told him, not a hint of sarcasm in her voice, though she MIGHT have been joking just a liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittle. Just a little bit ONLY because she could tell he was trying so hard and putting so much genuine effort into his treasure chest - it was cute, and though she WANTED to pull his leg and tease him outright, she couldn't help but come across as mostly genuine in her admiration for his work. "M'glad y'decided not to be lame and work with me. Tanner's gonna love our interpretations." Or she'd BETTER, at least, since they were working so hard. Hehe.
So they had wizarding currency, Muggle money, a treasure chest of emotions in progress, a smiling heart... what else could they include in their work space? They had two examples of emotionally rich, and two kinds of money shown... how about some material possessions associated with wealth? Liiiiiiike... err... "For some more, like, literal wealthy examples... m'gonna draw a BIG house, like a MANSION, 'cause someone with a master number of forty-four is gonna have super good finances and who WOULDN'T want a huge house if they're rich?" Sophie didn't know.
So, she snatched up the black piece of chalk again and worked on drawing out a big house in the bottom corner of her section with LOTS of pillars and LOTS of windows and anything she could think of that made the huge house look like it belonged to someone super wealthy. What she ended up drawing might have been modeled a little off CB's house, but she wouldn't say that aloud.
½ EagleBrain ♥ Creeperdoodle ♥ Raven Dor ♥ Berry ♥ ½ Team House Elf
How many drawing were they supposed to have? He couldn't remember if she'd said, and ... well he couldn't remember much of anything because he'd been totally IN THE ZONE for this activity project artsy thing.
Instead of asking the Professor questions, or adding to his own collection of images , what he ended up doing was being distracted and looking at what the others had produced, and seeing if he could figure out which master numbers they had chosen.
Some of the work was actually pretty darn good, but he still liked his best.
<--- Random | Funfetti | Lima Bean | Slytherpuff | PURPLE | Hoarder of pens | ALWAYS Severus
Babies were being drawn, and AJ still her had tongue clenched tightly between her teeth. It was hard work making a unicorn. Plus, they had to be perfect because they were her babies. Once she had drawn her fourth unicorn baby, she stood back to get a good look at her masterpiece. Okay, so she always said that she wanted a unicorn farm, but how to go about making one? She could draw a fence type thing around the unicorns, but that just seemed so boring. This was a unicorn farm for crying out loud, and she needed it to be absolutely fabulous.
AJ started to circle her masterpiece in hopes that something else cool would come to mind. She was working with chalk so maybe she was expecting too much. The second year looked around to see what everybody else was doing and to see if perhaps she could get some inspiration for one of them. Oh, Adi's masterpiece looked cool. Maybe AJ should have drew the world.
For a lack of a better idea, AJ picked up a white chalk and started to make a sort of fence around the unicorns. When she got her own place she would NOT be trapping her beloved unicorns in one place, but this was just a drawing, and she was just trying to get her point across.
With her white chalk she drew the border and made a little sign that read AJ's unicorn farm just in case anybody was confused. Anybody that knew her should know right off the bat what it was that she was doing. All done. Her number 22 represented making dreams become a reality, and this was a dream that WOULD come true for her.
AJ rubbed her hands together to get the extra chalk off. "All done." Did the professor need to come and look at it?
Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna
Now that he had picked his chosen master number to work with and looked up the overall accepted meaning for said number, he had to give his own interpretation. Motivation...motivation...motivation. It was the main word in the comment so it stuck out to Benny. Who in turn turned it into leadership. Leaders often were the ones motivating others both under and over them. Encouraging them to be and do their best.
Taking a new piece of chalk, the Gryffindor added the word Leadership into his area on the concrete. Slowly but surely he was getting something to work with. At the new thought on leadership, two particular people came to the fourth year's mind. Professor Flamsteed as the leader of their house who motivated them to do their best, even to the point of trying to improve their aim to be better in gobstones. And his best friend Adi who was certainly one of the better students leaders he had dealt with.
Now how to represent them?
It wasn't like he was a good drawer and could draw them, especially not Flamsteed who wasn't even in the vicinity to use as a model. He absently fiddled with the chalk piece in his grasp as he mulled over the two people to think on options.
Hearing someone calling her name, Lux turned her gaze and was surprised to see that it was Toby. He seemed like a really nice boy, but she had never spoken to him properly as far as she could remember even though they were in the same House.

Making her way over to him, she smiled. "I missed what we were supposed to be doing," she admitted before looking down at what was drawing.
Toby smiled at Lux when she did indeed join him, and sort of budged up a little bit to make room.
"You did?" he replied, looking around at her before picking up his notes again. "Okay, well... Professor Tanner was telling us about Master Numbers, and how they go up to 99. She gave us this list of all the other numbers and we're meant to pick one and sort of draw stuff out to represent the number we picked." Here, Toby handed the page of his notes over that said about what the numbers all meant:

55: Master of New Thought, freedom
66: Master of Peace, loving
77: Master of Spiritual Energy, go-with-the-flow

99: Master of Motivation, leadership
"I chose number 66," he added, as he looked back and used the light pink chalk to draw loads of tiny pink hearts all over his section of concrete. "So I drew some doves for peace, and loads of people holding hands, and up here is the sun, and now loads of hearts for love. Just trying to figure out what else I can draw." If he could fit anything else in. Hmmm.

Taking a seat beside Toby, Lux got herself ready to help him with the activity. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad because it involved drawing with sidewalk chalk.
As her new partner explained what was going on, it helped her feel a little better. She was still unsettled about losing track of herself for days on end, but at least she had an idea of what was going on in the here and now. "Thank you," she said while giving him a smile. And it really DID seem like an easy activity. Though she had no idea what happened with Professor Domingo and why no one had told her about the other Master Numbers.
"What about a Unicorn?" she suggested as she picked up a blue piece of chalk. Unicorns weren't generally blue but this one would be. Carefully she drew one by his hearts. "There, another symbol of love and peace."
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Stick figures were done!
There were different colours of them to represent the various skin colours of persons living in the world. Now Adi was adding the finishing touches to his drawing. Just exactly what were the finishing touches?
Peace signs to represent peace, of course. And little hearts to represent love. But mostly peace signs. Hearts were so girly. Ugh.
Anyway, loads of peace signs and a bit of hearts around the world map and the stick people. All of them were projected from him. Adi added some arrows leading from his stick figure self to each of the peace signs and hearts emitted to the other stick figures so that Tanner would understand what he was trying to say.

The Gryffindor shook his head and tried his hardest not to look too embarrassed at the thought. He wouldn't put it past her though. Knowing Soph, she'd probably find a way to pencil it in right next to his real name in the yearbook too, she had the proper connections for that sort of thing too. Forget till the day they graduate, he was probably marked for life. But... He didn't hate that actually. In a weird sense, he found it pretty funny too. King of the Nerds. And he didn't actually mind when Sophie teased him like this. It was different with her because had it been someone else... Someone like Zahra, it would've bothered him, angered him even, but Sophie was different. "I guess it's not too bad... I'm still a king, right?"
Just then, he turned back to his work and concentrated whole-heartedly on the treasure chest. He only took a small break just to lean back and make sure it looked alright, before putting his full focus back on it. He had to make it look amazing because Sophie was counting on him!! Just as he added the finishing touch to one of the corners, he looked over at the Ravenclaw and gave her a big ol' goofy Zander grin. "Thanks! It's not as good as your heart though.... But I think people can tell that it's a chest?" And besides, they were making great progress too so the quality was pretty good anyways- or at least Zander thought so. He didn't even question the fact that she had taken, what looked like, a break. They were getting the work done anyways so nothing to worry about. All was going pretty smoothly. Especially his treasure chest full of emotions. Chuckling a bit at what Sophie said next, "I'm glad I wasn't lame either," and he liked working with the Ravenclaw, truly. "She will! It looks great."
Then, he turned back to the chalk drawing and began making little circular faces within the opened treasure chest. One with a huge smile, the other sad face, and so on and so forth. Really, the idea was a bit-- ahem, under developed, but emotionally rich could just mean having a bunch of emotions right? Up for interpretation....?
As he drew a surprised face, he turned to smile at Sophie again. Merlin, how'd she come up with this stuff!? And was there a way to teach him how??? "Yeah!!!" A big house like those mansions in movies. With lots of furniture and stuff. "Can I draw a butler by the door? 'Cause all rich people have butlers at their houses!" It was like a fact.

So all they had to do was pick a master number and draw something to represent it. Seemed fairly easy. Only.......what to draw? That was the big money question. Plus, Heather had never really been that great at drawing. Doodling, yes, but that was entirely different. Although, maybe a doodle would do?
Heather decided to go with the number 22 and grabbed a piece of lavender colored chalk. And put it up under her nose to sniff first. Ahh, chalk. It had been awhile. She moved it down soon enough, though. Didn't want to be labeled as a weirdo. So, what to draw (or doodle, in this case)? She decided to go simple at first and draw the number, '3D' style. Now, what to draw inside?

"Uh huh," Soph reassured Zander while she examined the piece of chalk in her hand and noticed for the first time that her hands were covered in different colored chalk. "King of the Nerds, King of the Gryffindors, King of..." No, Sophie, don't say heart, even if his reaction would be funny...
"...My heart." She said it ANYWAY, then proceeded to snort and laugh, keeping an eye on HIS reaction all the while. Was he going to be all flustered and blushy and be ridiculous? She hoped so. Hiiiiiiilarious, to get Zander Adair all stirred up.
She continued watching him draw his treasure chest, which was still really kind of adorable - he was putting SO much effort into it and concentrating SO hard, and she tried to look really, really impressed, but mostly, she undoubtedly appeared amused. "Yeah, it's pretty obvious what it is, I think. S'not an easy thing to draw. Tanner'll love it especially, of all our stuff." Probably.
Soph was back to working on her mansion now, shading it in and using a white piece of chalk to shade in the windows. A... BUTLER by the door? Who needed a butler when you had house elves? "Sure, Z. Right... there," she pointed where he could come draw his butler, and wouldn't shade that part in with color till he had his butler there first. "Are you Muggleborn, by the way?" Just... y'know, for science. Since he had thought of a butler over house elves.

Zander couldn't help but keep a goofy grin on his face. Being king couldn't actually be all that bad, even if it meant he was king of the nerds. And even Sophie Brown thought so, it had to mean something. AND King of the Gryffindors?! Wait 'till Kevin got a load of that!! He'd be so mad, especially after he was trying to get everyone to call him King Kevin last year. AND EVEN KING OF... Her heart? HUH? His facial expressions changed almost immediately as he tried to recover from that unexpected turn of events. King of her heart?! What did that even meeeaaan?
And once she burst out into laughter, he couldn't help but feel that she was trying to poke fun at him. Which made him feel totally embarrassed and brought color rushing to his face. "Uhum, but, King of the Gryffindors--" he said trying to bring the subject back over. He was starting to feel ridiculous. Should've seen this one coming honestly. He was working with Sophie Brown after all.
The Gryffindor shook his head, agreeing with the Ravenclaw. If anyone knew how hard it was to draw it'd be Zander. Mhm. It was taking a whole lot of concentration to get the treasure chest looking just right. It had to be really good. And the bit about Tanner loving it especially? Well that gave him a small gust of pride and he even straightened his back a little in reaction.
After finishing the final few touches on his work, he was definitely ready to help with the rest of the mansion. But with the butler more specifically! Sophie even approved. He flashed another goofy little smile because for some reason the fact that he had a little designated spot for him made him pretty happy. As he started lightly sketching a body, he looked over at Sophie, "I think I'll name him Theodore," 'cause it was just a good name. And then at the question, he tilted his head to the side a little confused as to why she asked, but nodding all the same. "Yeah--uh, Yeah, I am."

After staring at her '3D' number for a minute or two, Heather decided to draw bricks in the part that would be the front of her number if it was actually 3D so that it would look like a brick wall. Get it? Because people with a 22 were considered the Master Builders? Well, she thought it was good. Now what else could she add? Graffiti? Maybe, if she could figure out how to do it with out it looking dumb.

HEHEHEHEHEE, there it was! The blushing! The embarrassment! Oh, Zander Adair never failed to give her just the reaction she was hoping for - what a bundle of fun to be around, he was. Merlin. "King of the Gryffindors, yeah. As soon as Bay graduates, you've got my bet for next prefect." She WIGGLED her eyebrows at him at that and starting wiping her hands off on the inside of her robes where no one would see, but after wiping one clean, she thought better of it and, instead, gave Zander a nice pat on the shoulder with her one chalk-covered hand so that there was a handprint of chalk on his robes. And she giggled.
Sophie was TOTALLY his favorite friend ever, right?
She DID mean what she said about his treasure chest, especially when she saw his finished product - it definitely wasn't terrible AND she COULD tell what he wanted it to be. The concept was a little silly, but it wasn't so far out in left field that she thought it would go right over Tanner's head. Naw, it was super creative. So she had high hopes for Zander's butler, too.
Theodore, though? Soph snorted, "Where did that come from?" Did he know a butler named Theodore or something? Mmm, the confirmation of his Muggleborn status - well, that made a whole lot of sense. "All right. Welllllllllll. Since we're doing things... the Muggle AND the wizarding way here... I'm gonna... ooohh, I'll draw a house elf head in one of these windows, like it's looking outside!" The house wouldn't need both a butler AND a house elf, but it was just the representation of the home's wealthy status. Seemed obvious enough, didn't it? She snatched up a brown stick of chalk and got to work on that.

Ah! Just erase a few of the lines.......
Once Heather figured that out, she went about 'graffiti-ing' up her number. When she was done, there were pictures of flying birds, skyscrapers and open doors on the doodle. But one thing was missing. She went back and wrote something under the 22. 'All in all, you're just another brick in the wall.' She'd heard her father use that phase when she was growing up, but she'd never known what it meant. Whenever she asked him what it meant, he'd always say that he'd tell her when she got older. Well, he'd died before he could tell her, but somehow it seemed fitting here.
And now she was done.

Some of these drawings were really very creative. She's seen many students get into this activity. It never ceased to amaze her what talents could come to light when you least expected it.
Tiara checked her watch. "The bell to end the period will ring in about five minutes! Put your finishing touches on and get your chalk back in the boxes!"

Huh?
Huuuuuuh?
The lesson was over? Zeke peered at the chalk still in his hands, and then back down at the work he was admiring - not his own - someone elses... still, it was nice.
Figuring he was done and dusted, Zeke returned the chalk and collected his things. "Thanks Professor Tanner!" he said as he started to depart to his next lesson. What did he have again???

Apparently, doing things at the last minute was the way he did things around here. No, really. There were five minutes to go and Grayson hadn't done much apart from pull out his notes and read through the meanings behind the master numbers to try and decide which one to use. This was kinda difficult, you know. he wasn't the arty farty type; he was more of the giving his opinion type because he cared very little for what people thought about it.
Hey, at least it helped him with his homework.
Shaking his head, Grayson ran one finger down the list of Master Numbers, mentally crossing off the ones he didn't want to do. Like 33. That required him to understand why people were so loving and caring all the time when people were worse than dragon dung at times. Besides, didn't it get tiring? All in all, he couldn't understand that one as clearly as he wanted to so it was skipped.
And which one was he gonna concentrate on? 44. Look at the way it was talking about money and wealth. He could SO represent that well using the chalk they had been provided with. Uh huh.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Five minutes to spare?
Whew!
It was a good thing he had finished his drawing. Adi was pleased with his work. It hadn't turned out so bad which was very surprising. Heh. Surprises can be good. He gathered all the sticks of chalk he had used before replacing them in the box.
Maybe he could use the remaining minutes to check out the artwork done by the others. Yep. He would do that.

When Professor Tanner explained what they would be doing with the sidewalk chalk, Jasmine had mixed feelings. They got to draw and that was a good thing. Jasmine loved to draw so she was excited about that part. It was what they had to draw that she was not quite so enthusiastic about. They had to draw things representing whatever Master number they chose. Well now that was going to prove difficult.
Of course Jasmine would choose eleven because that just happened to be her favorite number. Picking up her notebook, she reviewed the information that she had on her chosen number. Unfortunately no brilliant ideas immediatiately popped into her head. Details, she needed more details so Jasmine went to her textbook for inspiration. Reading over the information about the number eleven, she came up with a couple of ideas. However, she was going to need more than a couple of ideas to complete this assignment.

It was time to art up this piece of concrete.
The meaning behind the number seemed simple enough. Wealth. So as long as he drew lots of currencies and pictures of money, he would be fine.
His only concern was the word: spiritual. How in the name of Merlin was he meant to portray something like that?! It seemed weird and, frankly, dead difficult. Maybe something that required him to think outside of the box, which wasn't gonna happen with less than five minutes to go.
LOL, wasn't this meant to be part of his homework as well?
ANYWAYS. Picking up a piece of gold chalk, Grayson bent down and started drawing in some Galleons. All the galleons. Maybe a whole floor of galleons, as if there was a river of it. Did this take long? Nah! He only needed to draw a bunch of circles and colour it in. And black was added in, of course, to outline the circles. That was kinda needed too otherwise he wouldn't be able to tell the outlines of the money and it'd just be a sea of gold.
When that was done, the fifth year picked up the silver piece of chalk and started drawing in a throne. Important, this was. He needed to add in the sense that the person there was a very money-conscious person. Someone who had a bunch of it and didn't need to worry about running out of it because they were that well off.
Angel decided that she would try and draw a university with a couple of aliens coming into the building... that would show universal stuff right. "Is this right?" Angel said as she looked at Adi as she continued to draw... she was totally doing the Men in Black people as well. "These are the people who will look after things." Angel thought it would be amazing if this was so true.
Angel then drew a couple of wizards that would be meeting the aliens... she hoped that everything was right with her drawing... the aliens and the wizards were all together.

This was proving to be just as difficult as Jasmine had anticipated. She twirled all of the information about eleven around in her mind and tried to come up with something creative. After giving it a lot of thought, Jasmine picked up a piece of chalk and began to draw. Since eleven had to do with being intuitive and connected with psychic powers, she started drawing a crystal ball. Using the white chalk to create the orb, she tried to make swirls inside of it. She couldn't leave it clear, so she tried to capture the swirls that one got when a vision was about to appear.
Next Jasmine made a lightbulb to represent enlightenment. When the light bulb goes on, you get an idea or you understand something.........you become enlightened. Also when the light goes on, you see things more clearly. Yeah, that made sense. Jasmine just hoped that Professor Tanner would follow her train of thought, without the subtitles.
After a moment, Jasmine had another idea. She drew a person standing tall. Then she drew several other people on a lower level, looking up to the first person. That represented the fact that elevens are leaders and inspirations to others.......so the people are following/looking up to the leader.
Now what else could she use to represent the Master number eleven. Jasmine would have to give this just a little more thought. She peeked at her textbook once more for help.
