The classroom is certainly not as you had left it last. Professor Bellaire was able to successfully calm the raging storm (after a long and cold search for her wand) and restore some semblance of order to the room. Of course it's morning, it's early and it's really cold but it's about to get worst because the classroom is now covered in beautiful powdery snow and for those who had gotten their cloud to work, their clouds were patiently waiting for them and gently snowing. It's definitely a winter wonderland in here.
There are picket fences and stools located around the classroom but of course you know the rules by now don't you?

More weather making? Mo entered the classroom at a fast clip and took up a spot near West and Nigel. He knew the rules after all this time, so his uniform was pressed and tucked in and ready to go. It was cold, though, and Mo had spent a long moment considering whether or not he could wear legwarmers under his trousers without drawing undo attention.
He opted not to wear them.
"Good morning, Professor," Mo gave a solemn nod before freezing in place beside his desk. Standing still made the cold that much worse, but hopefully she'd have them moving again soon.

Zander was not looking forward to Transfiguration today. Especially after that stormy ending last lesson. Things were not going well. And it was COLD. Ugh. Did the professors just not believe in heating or something? Because they're wizards NOT neanderthals. Jeez.
As he walked in he noticed Professor Bellaire, and so he tried to put on a happy face. Because last time she was all grumpy. And he did not need grumpy again. No thank you. "'Morning Professor," yep. Now for a seat.
He noticed some of his friends were already there. So as he made his way further into the classroom he gave a nod to Ethan, his new divination pal (Adi), Cris, Lux, and Bay. Hopefully no storms this time please.

Considering that the fact the the last time he had been in the classroom, Kyroh had been attacked by hail and then forced to rush out of the room, the first year was not really looking forward to Transfiguration.
Though he had his gloves and hat on and was PREPARED.
Especially since Hogwarts had turned into an ice box. "Hello Miss Professor Bellaire." Kyroh mumbled. But his attention wasn't on her, it was on his CLOOOUD! Which was right beside the Gryffindor Prefects cloud why there cloud? The Gryffindor Prefect was trouuubbbbllle. He hesitated and stole a glance at the Prefect. TROUBLE. "Go back to Maddie Cloud." Kyroh mumbled to the cloud. He hadn't EXPECTED it to move but- it had? What? Wait no- he hadn't been serious!!!! "No! Go back where you were! Go back there! You're going to get me in trouble!" His cloud slowly began to move around the classroom and ALL that Kyroh could do was follow it.

Ethan was doing a bit of stretching in place, as he waited for the others to arrive to keep his blood circulating and keep him warm. It would have been better if they waited outside, rather than inside the classroom. But then again, for two years back in his old school, they have this kind of weather, so it shouldn’t bother him that much.
After a few rounds of stretching, his eyes was fixed on a cloud and chanted the spell inside his head. He guessed it was the best thing to do now, because it seems that they will be doing it again. However, he didn’t notice that someone was already beside him, not until she said her greeting.
Ethan turned, and what did she say? Lute boy? What?
Oh. Ooooh! She’s Cutty’s girl friend! As in…friend who is a girl. Ethan grinned at her and gave her a wave. “Hi. Miss.” Well, that was a bit awkward isn’t it? He never got her name after that incident, nor did he bother. “It's actually Ethan.” Or…lute boy if she wanna keep on calling him that. Heh.
Beverly Wayne returned the wave because she did waves. She didn't do so much smiling or grinning, but seeing at this little guy was a Slytherin he received a tiny grin. Call it shy or whatever. She didn't do happy-go-lucky smiles.
Miss. Heh. She liked that.
Lute Boy had a name. "Lute Boy Ethan," she said, as if tasting the name. She liked that too. "I'm Beverly Wayne." And now he knew her name, though, she wouldn't mind if he called her Miss Wayne. Or Miss Beverly. Had a nice ring to it.

Merlin, it was cold. After the last class, Penelope was unsurprised to find that it was very cold in the transfiguration class. The last class had not been good for Penelope. She had been pelted with rocks, attacked by birds, rained on, and buried in snow. It had taken forever (and some help from Professor Flamsteed) to get those wet bird feathers off of her uniform.
Hoping that she would not be buried in snow this class, Penelope entered the classroom. "Good morning, Professor Bellaire," she said to the professor as she walked into the room. She found a place to stand by her cloud. Her cloud had almost worked last time.
Kace made it just on time to Transfiguration. He noticed they were doing more weather making. He saw the clouds in the room. He nodded towards the professor and said, "Good morning Professor!" and then it was off to find his seat. As he found his way he noticed Lux, Bay, Adi and Marigold. All his favorite people. He smiled and waved at them. He wondered if Emmy was gonna show up anytime soon. He suddenly felt a chill. He wondered if it was just him or was it REALLY cold in here?
Brrr. It was really cold, and Leah was not happy about it. She put on a forced smile as she entered the Transfiguration classroom. She was dressed warmly (AND appropriately, yes), and was not surprised to find that the classroom was not crazy-snowing anymore.
The Hufflepuff found her cloud snowing gently and smiled swiftly before turning to the professor. "Good morning, Professor Bellaire." she said. Leah walked to her cloud and stood next to a stool nearby.

ooc: we are running behind time and that is my fault. Though I prefer greeting everyone individually, time does not afford us that luxury so on we go!
Sophia checked her watch. Oh crap, it was almost 8:16, she was so behind time. A swift wave of her wand cause to the door to shut itself then lock. There would certainly be no late comers in her class and she would be making no exception when the end of year game and people had fallen behind. Nope.
If everyone here could make the effort to get to class on time, it obviously could be done. One point for everyone and their effort!
Right, so the clouds were behaving better than she had expected them to. Not once did she have to charm them to get them going again or anything. That perhaps had a lot to do with how cold things had gotten around here. All the clouds were thriving...why if they didn't figure out why---right right she was off thoughts again...class time.
"Good morning everyone and welcome to another Transfiguration class! My mood is not so foul today, so the person who changes that will rue the moment they do." And that was a promise. Yep.
"Congratulations to everyone who managed to get their clouds working and for those who didn't..well your clouds seemed to want to work so they corrected themselves..." Quite odd but she'd investigate later.
"Now I plan to kick out any whiners, so for those who want you can take a seat on a stool. As you all can see, we have a garden setting here and by now you all know why. This place should be transformed into a beautiful ice garden. Now that we have the snow we can all move on to making the ice crystals or in this case, the ice flowers, which you will plant in the garden." She looked around the class for any confused faces.
"The spell we will be using today is Orchideous Stiriacus. What it will do is to conjure ice flowers from your wand which you will then plant in the garden. Now you all know that conjugation is the third branch of transfiguration right?" Her eyes narrowed at all of them. Or did she need to do a full blown lesson on conjugation because Merlin knew these kids didn't read.
"The wand movement for this spell is moving your wand in a semi circular motion in a clockwise direction. If you do the opposite you will end up creating a wreath. There will be no wreaths in my garden. If you have no questions...begin."

Yay! It was time for class to begin and they could sit down. Unfortunately Jasmine was not sure that she could because she might be frozen in an upright position. Nope, she could sit. Jasmine listened to the Professor and took notes. They were making ice flowers today? Interesting.
Jasmine tHought that it would be a good idea to practice the incantation first. "Or-chi-di-ous Stir-i-a-cus". Jasmine said the words slowly and carefully. This one was going to take some practice. She repeated the incantation until she felt a little more comfortable with it. Finally, Jasmine thought that she was ready to put it all together. "Orchideous Stiriacus", she repeated it over and over again.
Now that she had gotten the hang of the incantation, Jasmine was ready to try the wand movement. Checking her notes one more time, she made a clockwise semi circle with her wand. Well that seemed a little easier to pull off than the incantation. Jasmine kept repeating the movement until it was stuck in her head. Muscle memory, you know.

She said that like it was going to be on a test. The THIRD branch of transfiguration. A calm smile hung itself on Cutty's otherwise figuratively frozen face and never quite got to his eyes. Once Bellaire gave the ok, she didn't need to tell the young Slytherin twice. He held out his wand and tried the wand motion Bellaire had just described. "Orchideous...Stiriacus. Stiriacus." Clockwise semi-circle.
"Orchideous Stiriacus." He spoke the words and motioned his wand until the tip of his wand, for magic or climate, frosted at it's tip momentarily. Was that how it would happen? Would the flower slowly grow out of the tips of their wands or would it shoot more like other flower conjuring spells? "Orchideous Stiriacus!" The incantation manifested in a puff of visible breath as his wand semi-circled about the frigid air. The tip of his Aspen was white with cold and at first appeared to be gaining and inch or two before it became apparent that a flower was shooting forth from it's end. It's petals translucent toward the tip and frosted at the base reminded Cutty of blown glass.
He brought the flower closer to his face and inspected it. What did it do? Maybe it was all for the sake of beauty.

Her mood wasn't so foul today. Grayson raised his eyebrows at that. It was funny how her foul mood still seemed pretty foul to this Slytherin. And he should know, he was told he was quite foul sometimes. And he had a funny feeling that if someone did end up getting on her wrong side today, it really wasn't going to be as funny to watch.
SIGH. Life was hard.
..................... They were getting started already?
Okay. Maybe that was for the better, then. No boring lectures about something or another. The fourteen year old made a face at the mention of flowers. Freaking FLOWERS. At least the ice part made it sound pretty cool because otherwise, it sounded like they were going to be making one of those namby pamby gardens that they could prance around in later. No, thank you.
"Orchideous Stiriacus," he mumbled to himself, "Orchideous.......... orchideous...... orchideous.......... orchideous......." Flowers. Sweet merlin. "Stiriacus......... stiriacus....... stiriacus....... stiriacus........" FLOWERS. "Orchideous Stiriacus....... orchideous stiriacus......... orchideous stiriacus........." How was that? Was that okay? Good? Brilliant?
Of course it was.
Grayson then took out his wand from his robes and held it up. Semi circular wand movement in a clockwise direction. He didn't mind the idea of creating a wreath buuuuuut........ he glanced at the woman. She was in a good mood, let's not ruin that, mkay? Looking back at his wand, he moved it in a semi circular motion in the clockwise direction.
How in the freaking name of merlin had Cutty Mordaunt conjured up a flower ALREADY?!

Did professors normally announce that they were not in a foul mood? So, the first lesson that she had with Bellaire was truly how she acted every day? Well... in that case AJ would just have to enjoy this "non foul" mood for as long as she could. The first year listened intently on what the professor was saying because she did NOT want to make a wreath instead of a flower. Third branch of Transfiguration? There were branches? Deciding that she would NOT bring up that, she worked on the incantation some.
Orchideous Stiriacus. That was a mouth full. "Orchideous Stiriacus." It wasn't sounding quite right. "Orch-i-deous Stir-a-cus." AJ said it over and over again until it didn't feel so foreign on her tongue anymore. Next came to wand movement.
Without saying anything she moved her wand in a semi circular motion in a clockwise direction. She didn't really need to practice that more than once.
Lucy listened the instructions of the Professor..
She decided to start to pronounce the incantation:"orchideous stiriacus..or-chi-de-ous sti-ria-cus.."
Then she began to move her wand in a semicircular movement..
She tried and tried again..
Lucy hoped she would not do anything wrong..

Beverly Wayne. Noted. Ethan grinned at the older student, “Miss Wayne.” And gave her a nod. Well, he really can’t blame Cutty if his cousin find Miss Wayne over here, attractive. She is alright. But for Ethan, Josette is still the prettiest. Ahem. Just saying. Before he could even interrogate Miss Wayne about what transpired between her and Cutty in their Common Room, Professor Bellaire decided to start the class.
…
Good mood? Oh…that’s, good news then? Ethan got the impression that this professor doesn’t smile much, or in her case, always in a bad mood. Anyway! The third year gave Miss Wayne another look and nod and gave his full attention to Professor Bellaire. Well, yay, because they will not be producing snow anymore; which can be very troublesome by the way, but instead, they will conjure an ice flower. What for, exactly? And…where can he possibly use this in the future?
Ethan pushed the questions at the back of his head and went ahead to practice the spell. Orchideous Stiriacus. “Orchideous…Stiriacus.” Ethan repeated the spell under his breath, slightly getting distracted from the sight of his breath as he spoke. Merlin. Where in the world is the sun? “Orchideous…Stiriacus…Orchideous…Stiriacus. Orchideous Stiriacus.” The third year let the world roll out of his mouth naturally, while picturing what he wanted to see once he cast it with his wand.

Adi hardly had time to react to his friends who had acknowledged his presence when Professor Bellaire began the lesson. Oh cool! Ice flowers...awesome! No wreaths though. Too bad.
Time to start then. ''Orchideous Stiriacus, Orchideous Stiriacus, Orchideous Stiriacus, Orchideous Stiriacus...'' The badger was distracted a bit due to the fact that Cutty had already conjured up a flower. Woah! The dude was fast!
Adi went back to his practice. This time, it was the wand movement. He made a semi circular motion in a clockwise direction. Then again he did it. Okay then! Time to conjure up a flower.
It was time for class to begin. Totally freaked out about the fact that she was the last one to enter before the door slammed shut, Leah inhaled slowly. Luckily, Professor Bellaire was NOT in a bad mood. It was a day worth celebrating, but that would have to come after class. She sat down on the stool next to her and listened. Ice flower, interesting.
Her strategy to Transfiguration after nearly two years of studying told her that it was best to practice the incantation first. "Or-chi-di-ous Stir-i-a-cus" the Hufflepuff mumbled. That was difficult. She practiced the incantation over and over again, until she could finally say "Orchideous Stiriacus" with no problem. Leah got the hang of the incantation which was the hardest part, so yay!

An ice garden? They were making ice crystals? The kind with the jagged ends and such? Those could come in handy even after the class was over. Lots of time now you know with outside being so cold no one went out anymore. No telling what a Gryffindor might need something with jagged edges for.
And what was a wreath? An ugly plant, must be if the Professor didn't want it in her garden. This was kinda like...Herbology only no gloves and they were likely to lose a finger to the frost bite. Funny how that worked.
How did the wand movement go again...? A semi circular motion in a clockwise direction...right, otherwise she'd get those wreaths...whatever the hell they were.

As the woman talked, it occurred to Sophie that maybe there really were reasons why she acted the way she did. The professor just point blank admitted that she wasn't in a foul mood today, so for her to say that, she must know that she usually appeared the opposite. Why anybody would want to do that was beyond her.
An ice garden--that sounded cool. Sophie actually found herself kind of anxious to see the final look of the their ice garden. They were only in the very beginning of the process, though, so she raised her wand and got ready to practice.
"Orchideous Stiriacus," she said, getting a feel for the incantation. "Orchideous Stiriacus." So all she needed to do now was put that together with a semi circle in a clockwise direction, and she was good to go.

Okay, yay this class was going a lot better than the last. He wasn't getting yelled at. Taking a stool as he was allowed to he sat down, he was really tired and all he wanted to do was to take a nap. But he was in class and he was going to pay attention. saying to himself he practiced "Orchideous Stiriacus" for some reason normally he had a really bad problem with pronunciation but he seemed to get that down right off the bat. cool.
now he took out his wand and started doing the wand movement in a semi circular motion in a clockwise direction, over and over again.
These clouds were awesome. They were like developing there own thought processes. Saying like stupid student not getting us to be snow clouds properly. I will do it myself. Just awesome. Though maybe it was a prelude to SkyNet in the distant future. That is a scary thought.
Well no whining today then. Though Nigel liked to complain and not whine. There is a difference....
Okay making ice flower with the spell. Got It. "Orchideous Stiriacus.....Orchideous Stiriacus" Well he got the pronunciation down. All that was left was adding the wand movement to the incantation. Nigel took out his wad and moved it in a semi circle and cast
"Orchideous Stiriacus".
Look at those beautiful cold ice flowers.
Maybe he should try making a wreath next.

YES, this was perfect!!
Theo happened to be amazing at conjuring flowers from his wand, likely it reflected his big, softie heart. Ha. So he was pretty excited about this activity, and having a great opportunity for Bellaire to be proud of him. Theodore pulled out his wand and adjusted his sitting position into a more comfortable one. Semi circular, clockwise... easy. He practiced this a few times to get the hang of it, but didn't spend too long on it.
Now for the pronounciations. Well, he knew the first part off by heart. "Orchideous... Stiria-cus." Weeeeeeeeeird word. "Stir-ia-cus." Like a stirring circus, he thought, and that would be how he remembered it "Orchideous Stiriurcus!" Ehhhhhhh... close enough.
Prepping himself for the wand movement, Theo gave his wrist a wiggle, cleared his throat aaaand... "Orchideous Stiriacus!" It came out louder than he had expected, mostly because he wanted Professor Bellaire to see. Viola, a bouquet of ICY flowers appeared out of the tip of his wand. Like a BAWS.

Jasmine was ready to try the spell so she went into concentration mode. She wanted to get this right, preferably on the first try. Picturing her vision of an ice flower, Jasmine raised her wand. Moving it in a clockwise semicircle, she said, "Orchideous Stiriacus".
And she waited. At first Jasmine thought that she had botched the spell because the tip of her wand gave a little frosty puff. Then what appeared to be an icicle began to emerge from her wand. Jasmine gave a sigh of relief when the icicle continued to grow and became a full fledged flower. Anxious to try again, she set her flower down and prepared to make more of them.

Ian listened to the professor. She certainly was a stern one. He was grateful that his cloud had corrected itself in his absence as he wasn't sure he'd get that one right no matter how hard he tried. He was curious about the idea of conjugating a flower. He knew about conjugating verbs, but never a spell. He'd read a little about it in his attempts to become better at transfiguration, but he still didn't have much complete success.
He practiced the wand movements first. He didn't want any wreaths. He certainly didn't want the professor cross with him. It was too cold to imagine the icy stare of wrath she was capable of when she was cross. He motioned in the small semicircles flicking his wand from left to right.

Awesome, Bellaire was in a better mood this time and there was no yelling. That made Lux happy. Listening as the woman explained what was happening this lesson, she gave a nod of understanding. It was lost on her why they needed to have this class so early in the morning, but since she didn't want to sound like a whiner, that thought was kept to herself.
"Orchideous Stiriacus." That wasn't too bad; Lux never had a huge problem with pronunciation. For her it was always confidence that had been the issue, though fortunately that had resolved itself once she started practicing magic more. "Orchideous Stiriacus... Orchideous Stiriacus... Orchideous Stiriacus..." Once satisfied, she moved on to the wand movement.
Semi-circular motion in a clockwise direction. Pretty easy. Smiling to herself, she kept her wand moving until it was almost effortless.

Was AJ really ready to produce ice flowers? She seriously doubted that, but she was going to try her best anyways. She was well practiced, and all that was left to do was to put the movement and the incantation together. What was the worse thing that could happen?
Smiling to herself as thoughts came to her mind, she shook away the scenarios and tried to focus on ice flowers. "Orchideous Stiriacus." Moving her wand in a semi circle in the correct motion got her a big fat nothing. AJ was getting pretty used to absolutely nothing at all working for her. It was rather frustrating. She looked around and noticed that there were several students who had already produced their flowers. What kind of black magic was this?
