| | Transfiguration 1 -Let the Storm Rage On
As is per usual, Transfiguration class is one of the first lessons for the day. Yes, bright and early. Of course your professor doesn't wish to hear any complaints or see any yawning because you should all just be used to it by now.
When you enter the classroom, you notice that the desk and chairs are all neatly lined to the sides. The windows that would normally be wide open for the crisp morning breeze to wave through are closed and Professor Bellaire is standing by her desk waiting, wand in hand and scowl in place.
On the board is an outline of sorts. Quote: Transfiguration Term Project.

| Professor? There's some good in this world and it's worth fighting for| LOTR|Whovian|Sherlock Fan
Cris whispered softly the words of the incantation Professor Bellaire had just told them, "Stiricidium Nubila" and then watched carefully as she demonstrated the wand movement. A counter clockwise swirling motion while pointing wand at the cloud. Wand movement and incantation noted mentally in his mind.
He waited for Professor Bellaire to say it was alright to start before Cris first began practicing the incantation. "Stiri-ci-dium Nu-bi-la...Stiricidium Nubila....Stiricidium Nubila.....Stiricidium Nubila.....Stiricidium Nubila...." Cris repeated the incantation over and over again, first breaking the words up into separate syllables and then once he was sure of its pronunciation, he started the incantation in its entirety.
Then he moved on to the wand movement. Practice first though. He wanted to make sure he had it right before he combined both wand movement and incantation.
Waving his wand, he first pointed it away from his cloud, moving his wand in a counter clockwise swirling motion. Wait, were they supposed to only do it once or over and over again?
Even though he was afraid to ask Professor Bellaire, Cris knew he had to, especially if he wanted to make sure what he was doing was correct. Cringing inwardly, Cris slowly raised his hand and asked,"Professor, do we continue to move our wand in a swirling motion if our cloud doesn't grow. Or just end the spell and try again?"
Yes he had been paying attention when she had done it. But she was the Professor. She only needed to do it once, to get it correct. Not having done this before, Cris suspected it would take a couple of tries before he got the spell right.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Kiana Desiree Remora Fifth Year | two sides of the same coin
Desiree shivered as attention was brought to the gloves, or her lack thereof. Thankfully she had some in her bag! Putting them on she allowed herself to examine her own personal cloud the professor had just conjured up a little more closely. Okay that was just cool. heh, no pun intended.
And now they were going to make it even cooler. Or, at least that was the goal. Of course she was already well aware of what a cumulonimbus was, but she took note of the exact definitions of the two subjects (a mental note to copy down later, you know, when she wasn't standing and preoccupied with a magical cloud) and recited the spell to herself a few time "Stiricidium Nubila.. Stiricidium Nubila.. "
Deciding that actual practice was really the only way to go she pointed her wand towards the little levitating puffball. "Stiricidium Nubila!" she said twirling her wand counterclockwise. She allowed herself a self-satisfied grin as the cloud started to grow and darken just like the Professor's and... and that was definitely rain. Little rain droplets falling to the floor. Frustrated, she gripped her wand tighter. Obviously the spell hadn't been powerful enough and hadn't chilled the cloud thoroughly. "Stiricidium Nubila!" she tried with a good deal more force, focsuing all her energy on that single spell and....
Really? She let out a sigh of disappointment as little chunks of ice, no bludgers or anything, but definitely ice nonetheless began to drop down from the cloud. One of them bounced off her foot and she kicked it to the side, watching it shatter. Right. Not cool. Or rather, too cool. She wasn't quite sure how to reverse it but figured perfecting the spell would set things right and they could have a nice winter wonderland in here in no time.
She tried again, "Stiricidium Nubila", no force, but all focus- and sure enough the onslaught of hail ended and little flakes started coming down. It was really beautiful, and she took a minute to admire her handiwork, a thin layer of powder building up on her outstretched glove. So, did this mean all wizards (powerful ones anyway- such as the Professor) had the power to control the weather on a whim? Surely there were regulations for that sort of thing..

As instructed, Mo snugged on his gloves before turning to take in the small white and fluffy cloud the professor had provided. Private clouds? That was a pretty neat trick, and definitely one Mo hoped the professor would teach to the older students. He'd really like to be able to create his own weather... imagine if he could make it snow over a Christmas tree or something?
He reached out one finger and gave the cloud a prod, although his hand just passed through the vapor. Cold, though, and his gloves seemed a little damp. What was that incantation and movement again?
The movement was easy enough, and Mo drew the counter clockwise circles with his wand as he continued to mentally measure out his cloud. It was kinda pretty and docile like this, and he hated to make it go all angry and ugly. "Stiricidium Nubila, Stiricidium Nubila, Stiricidium Nubila," Mo muttered the rather long and cumbersome incantation.
Easy... ish enough, right? Time to make it snow.

| ♥s her SS family l Wifey is MINE | Naughty Niffler l Whittysaur l #awkwardturtle<# Listening to the Professor explain what they needed to do with the clouds, Lux figured that it didn't seem TOO hard. Of course the pressure was on a little, because this teacher made her a little nervous. Would she get into trouble if she messed up and her cloud rained down birds?
Logically, the first thing she should do while practicing was work on the wording, covering the wand movement once she was confident she was saying it right. "Stiricidium Nubila." What a mouthful. "Stiricidium Nubila... Stiricidium Nubila... Stiricidium Nubila..." Lux kept repeating the spell until she was certain she was pronouncing it the same way that Professor Bellaire had. It was time for her to work on the wand movements.
Swirling her wand around, she kept making counter-clockwise movements. Easy enough. Confident, she pointed her wand to the cloud and made the counter-clockwise motion while saying, "Stiricidium Nubila."
Watching, she saw her little cloud begin to grow before things went wrong. It had stopped expanding, now was pouring down... rocks. O____O
Trying her best to get out of the way as fast as possible Lux felt one graze her left arm. "Ouch!" |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Louise Fellen Third Year | Jupiter's Satellite Tora was pretty happy with her little harmless fluffy cloud blithly floating above her head, but this was Transfiguration Class, and if Professor Bellaire requested that she turn it into some dark monster that could potentially rain hail on her... so be it. The Ravenclaw wasn't truly worried, however, because she was good at Transfiguration. Very good at Transfiguration. The fourth year practiced the wording of the spell a couple times ("Stiricidium Nubila...Stir-ici-di-um Nu-bila...Stiricidium Nubila") before she picked up her Ebony wand to get started.
She smiled up at her cloud before confidently swirling her wand around in a counterclockwise motion and clearly saying "Stiricidium Nubila" It took a couple seconds, but after a slight delayed reaction, her cloud started to grow and turned a couple shades darker. "Common, common," Tora muttered to her not-so-little cloud as it stopped growing. Then it started to snow. It was wet snow, more slush or sleet than the light powdery stuff the Professor wanted, but it was still snow. Tora had succeeded.

Hayden listened carefully and nodded to herself. Okay, that all made sense. Her only problem might be actually remembering the incantation. Those were big, complicated words. She repeated it over and over again in her head until she was fairly certain the words had been committed to memory. Hayden pulled on the pair of gloves she'd brought, and gripped her wand in her right hand. She practiced the wand motion a few times. That, at least, was not complicated.
Before she actually tried the spell, Hayden had a thought. So she raised her hand. "Professor, does this spell specifically only change the fluffy ones into the storm clouds? Or can it change any type of cloud into a...cumulonimbus?" True, her question did not affect whether or not she could perform the spell, but she was curious.

| curly haired prefect - "sometimes I get angry!" - 30/90 - *chicken emoji* - probably @ Disney - I speak dog Man, this incantation was a mouthful! But Caleb was prepared to practice. He took out his wand and practiced the circular wand motion a few times, before he practiced the incantation. "Stiricidium Nubila...Stiricidium Nubila..." he said. Alright, now time to put it all together! "Stiricidium Nubila!" he exclaimed as he waved his wand in a circular motion towards the cloud over his head. What type of cloud was that again? It didn't matter, because nothing happened. BOOOOO. He had to practice more, apparently...

Yep, Adi understood the difference between Transfiguration and Charms. He made notes on that as well as on the spell. Setting aside his quill and book, he tried out the incantation. "Stirid...no. Stiricidiun...no! Not that either. Stiricidium Nubila.'' Yes! That was definitely it! "Stiricidium Nubila, Stiricidium Nubila, Stiricidium Nubila.''
Adi felt he was still pronouncing the first word incorrectly so he decided to just practice that one for the time. ''Stiricidium, Stiricidium, Stiricidium, Stiricidium...'' And so he went until he was confident he got the hang of it. Now he could practice the entire incantation. ''Stiricidium Nubila, Stiricidium Nubila, Stiricidium Nubila.'' Alright. He got this. Time for the wand movement!

While waiting for the Professor to answer his question, Cris decided that he would practice casting the spell once to see what happened. Maybe just one swirl of his wand counter clockwise. Yes just like the Professor had done.
.....and with that thought in mind, Cris concentrated on making the cloud above him swell and become snow clouds. Nice grey big snow clouds that he was used to seeing back home in Norway during winter. Pointing his wand up at the cloud that was floating above him, Cris swirled his wand in a counter clockwise direction while saying the words to the incantation, "Stiricidium Nubila."
He watched as his cloud grew vertically upwards and began to swell up, getting darker and then it began to.....
Hail! As ice the size of golf balls began falling on his head, Cris was forced to raise his arms over his head to shield himself from the hail. Could he use Reverto to revert the spell or maybe Finite to end it....or maybe put up a shield to help deflect the hail stones?
Uh! Oh!...

So everyone had the answer and the Gryffindor didn't really see any point in trying to add. Why would she? There were only so many ways you could repeat that one answer before you started sounding like everyone else in the room and Lex was more than happy to pass on that. Yup so she'd just stand there looking as attentive as possible to appease the Professor and hope they would move on soon.
The last drops of sleep slowly seeped from the Gryffindor at the mention of the activity. They'd be controlling weather yes but they got their own clouds! If she was understanding right they'd be making them big and poofy and dark in colour. No need to be making guesses though because a demonstration was being given.
It looked easy enough when Professor Bellaire did it but Lex wouldn't let herself think it'd be that simple until she'd tried it out.
First things first, the incantation. It'd been a long one. Was it just her or did most Transfiguration spells seem kinda long. It's like you were giving an entire new building code to an existing item or something. "Sti-ri-ci-di-um Nu-bi-la." A mouthful at its best. "Stiricidium Nubila...Stiricidium Nubila." Who was the wise guy that came up with this anyway and hadn't he ever heard of mono-syllabic words?

| Assistant Marauder | 1/2 of BenSky | Hit Wiz! | Mischief Managed So Cumulus is puffy and cottony and Cumulonimbus is thundery!! Okay she sort of got it... Hopefully!
Stirdum Nubela?!! What!?
That spell changes it from puffy to thundery. Okay check mark on that!
Wand movement easy enough it was simply a counter clockwise swirl, with the wand pointing at the cloud.
Listening to the others she found out it was actually Stiricidum Nubila not Stirdum Nubela.
Okay time to practice first!! Wand movement first and then she would try saying the incantation. She picked up her wand and made a counter clockwise swirl, and then another and another and another. And some more, and some more until she had practiced so much her eyes only saw counter clockwise swirls.
She sighed that had taken forever! Now time for the incantation, she could do it... Should be easy! "Stirisidum Nubla!" Nope. "Stiricidum Nubla.." Party but nope. "Stiricidum Nebula!" Haha nah. "Stiricidem Nubila!" Sounded close. "Stiriciduim Nubila!" Getting there... "Stiricidum Nubila!" Got it. Once she got it she continued to practice the incantation for a couple more times. "Stiricidum Nubila!"......"Stiricidum Nubila!"...."Stiricidum Nubila!"...."Stiricidum Nubila!"...."Stiricidum Nubila!"...."Stiricidum Nubila!"....."Stiricidum Nubila!"...."Stiricidum Nubila!"...."Stiricidum Nubila!"
She breathed a breath and smiled so she had the wand movement and incantation down, that was a breeze!

Angel was totally confused now, so wizards could change the weather if they wanted too, is that why it was always being confusing with the weather because this crazy professor was playing around with it, she listened to what the Professor said before deciding to have a go herself.
"Stiricidium Nubila!" Angel said without using her wand. "Stiricidium Nubila!" Angel wanted to make sure she knew the spell. "Okay check." Angel beamed as she held out her wand and pointed it at the cloud. "Stiricidium Nubila!" Angel looked at the cloud as it got darker but then nothing happened until.
O_______________o
"Professor how do I make it stop?" Angel was watching as rocks came flying down from the cloud, she took a step back so one didn't hurt her, though if they got any close she would stop and jump for cover.

What was that spell again? Stirici....something? Why its so hard to remember? The wand movement was easy enough to remember, she just need to do counter clock-wise swirling motion with her wand pointing up at the cloud. Okay first she need to get that incantation right first the she can practice the wand movement. "Stirici......dium. Stiricidium. Stiricidium. Stiricidium Nubila." She repeated the incantation again and again until her tongue was familiar with that words. Now the wand movement. Candice took out her wand and practiced the the circular wand motion a couple of times.

Stiri—what? Ethan had his jaw hanging as the professor pronounced the incantation and did a demonstration. Fluffy clouds must grow bigger and get darker…and snow shall fall. But. Stiri…huh? Ethan shuffled in place as he got his wand out and eyed his own cloud. He knew it. Innocent fluffy cloud will bring forth mess in a few.
Okay. First things first. Incantation. Stiricidium Nubila. “Stiri…cim…nope. Stiri..cidium. Stiricidium. Stiri…cidi..um Nubilala.” This was hard. The Slytherin facepalmed himself and commanded his brain to focus. “Stiricidium Nubila.” Ethan paused and practiced the very simple wand movement. Counter-clockwise. Good.

Lucy looked her cloud and thought:" I hope not to get me in trouble!" Then she pointed her wand at her cloud and she said:" Stiricidium nubila!".
Lucy was happy to see the cloud grow and become darker.
She looked curious her cloud and perhaps she lost her concentration because suddenly no were snowflakes that fell but buckets of water!!
Lucy winced and said:"I'm sorry Professor..I would not to flood the class!"

| A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
Watching while the others tried out the spell, the Gryffindor could not help but LAUGH out loud when a fellow Gryffindor (Zander) was yelling for the Professor's help when birds suddenly attacked him. Oh gosh that was just funny! He needed a good laugh these days!
But really though, Kevin was eager to try the spell as well but he first decided to practise saying the incantation. Which was...uhm... "S-stiri...stirisomething..stiricidium Nubila?" He listened to the others. "Stiridium...no wait..Stiricidium Nubila! Stiricidium Nubila!" Alright that was it.
He looked at the small cloud in front of him pointed his wand at it and made a counter-clockwise swirling motion. He could do this! "Stiricidium Nubila!" He shouted in determination, knowing that it would work. Because he was Kevin and he was awesome you know? He grinned when his cloud became darker and darker and then.....ROCKS happened!
The young Lion's eyes widened as the small rocks fell out of his cloud and he slightly panicked. How did he stop this?!

AJ could tell that the professor was annoyed with the questions, but it wasn't her fault that she came from a background where witches and wizards didn't exist. She read the board, and had a bit of a better understand of the clouds, but she still didn't take notes considering that she was told not to until the understood. AJ did not understand. Well, she got the concept for the most part, but she had just to attempt. She was thinking this was going to be like the fifth floor corridor all over again.
It would be nice to know how to properly say the incantation so she decided to play with the word on her tongue. "Stiricidium Nubila." That was definitely a mouth full. "Stiricidium Nubila, Stir-ici-dium." She wasn't sure if she was pronouncing it just right. She continued on for some time just letting the incantation roll off of her tongue.

| elephant-astic•wanderlust•stay in the ninedaaays the original Taco Belle•look at the flowers✿ Maddie DID understand and she'd even taken LOTS of notes on the difference between Transfiguration and Charms so she could answer NEXT time that question was asked. She'd know EXACTLY what to do then, mhm!
Also, her cloud was CUTE. The small brunette had never really considered the cute factor of clouds as they were far away and not particularly pleasing to her eye but having one so close meant she could properly appreciate it. Cutest cloud in the WHOLE class, that's what she had right here. People should totally be jealous.
Ready to get started, the first year decided that practicing the incantation was the best way to start and so she ran her finger over her notebook where she'd written it down. Stiricidium Nubila. It was a MOUTHFUL, that was for sure. Definitely going to take some practice. "Stir...stiri...stirici..stiricidium." That SOUNDED right but she still wasn't so sure "Stiricidium..stiricidium...stiricidium." GOOD? Now for the second part. "Nubila..Nubila..Nubila." That word sounded funnier each time you said it and Maddie smiled to herself, amused. "Stiricidium Nubila...Stiricidium Nubila...Stiricidium Nubila."
Since the wand movement wasn't hard, Maddie practiced ONCE and then smiled. She was SO ready to do this. Brown eyes looked over at her cloud and she took a mental snapshot because next time she said that spell, it WOULD look different. Get ready to be a Cumulonimbus, Cloud.

Yeah that was definitely worse than the hail. She looked back up at her cloud that was still dropping little ice pellets on the ground. She was going to probably have to clean that up. Oops.
Addi looked back up at the cloud. She took a deep breath and pointed her wand at it again. She pointed her wand and said, "Stiricidium Nubila." Well...the hail wasn't falling as heavy now. Oh! And look! A couple of little snowflakes were mixed in. Addi beamed. So glad she was good with this stuff.

It was time to transfigure the cloud now and Jasmine was a little sorry to see her puffy white cloud go. She listened and watched carefully as the Professor demonstrated the spell. Jasmine figured she had better practice the incantation first....a lot. It was a bit of a tongue twister and she wanted to make sure she got it right.
Breaking the words down, Jasmine began to say them carefully to herself. "Stir-i-ci-di-um Nu-bi-la, Stir-i-ci-di-um Nu-bi-la, Stir-i-ci-di-um Nu-bi-la. Stiricidium Nubila." Now that one took some getting used to. Not feeling completely comfortable with the incantation yet, Jasmine repeated it several more times. Finally, it was getting a little easier to say.
Now she had to practice the wand movement. Jasmine retrieved her wand and was ready to begin. She pointed the wand at the cloud and moved it in a counterclockwise swirling motion. That seemed easy enough. The trick was going to be putting all of the spell's components together and maintaining concentration at the same time. Jasmine thought that she was ready to at least give it a try.

Grayson cast a weary look over at his cloud, maybe even narrowing his eyes a little at it before looking over at the board. It was a good thing Bellaire had put the names of the clouds up there otherwise the boy would have had NO idea what it was she was talking about. Clouds were clouds and he really didn't care for them or what the different types were called.
Speaking of clouds, he glanced up at his own one again once the demonstration was over. This one looked like a fluffy marshmallow. Or candyfloss that was missing its stick. Basically, it was more along the lines of cute and he hated that. It was as if it was some sort of annoying kid that was constantly happy and insisted on following him around everywhere. "Stiricidium Nubila," he mumbled to himself, "Stiri.... cidium. Nu....... bila." Practice made perfect and all that. And he wanted to be perfect with this spell. The sooner he got rid of the weird fluffy cloud, the better. Bring on the snow. "Stiri........ cidium. Stiricidium. Stiricidium. Nu......bila. Nubila. Nubila." The words rolled out of his tongue.
And the wand movement? Seemed simple. Without saying anything, he pointed his wand up at the cloud and moved it around in a counter clockwise swirling motion numerous times. Uh huh. Dead simple this was.

Well not really but at least now it didn't sound as impossible. Walking over a bit till he was directly under a cloud (a pretty BIG one too!) he first started to practice his wand movement.
The no hugging professor had said to make a swirling motion counter clock-wise, which wasn't hard at all! Pointing his wand to the cloud above him, Kyroh mimicked the motion, until he was sure it was perfect.
It was actually kind of fun too!
The hard part though, that would be the incantation.
He brought his hand down and shoved his wand in its holster just so he wouldn't mess anything up by accident.
Stiricidium Nubila. "Stiridicimti-Stricdidp-Serendip-Steer-Steri-Str-" He sighed and shook his head a bit. The word was WERID. "Stir-ic-idi-um" Kyroh pronounced slowly, sounding out the first word. "Stiricidiul-Stiricidium-Stiricidium" The word felt funny on his tongue but he KNEW that he had gotten it. "Nu-bi-la. Nubila." The second word was so much easier. "Stiricidium Nubila. Stiricidium Nubila. Stiricidium Nubila." BAM He was ready and everything.

| Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna The Gryffindor was grateful someone had asked about the difference in the types of clouds there were. It gave a better idea on what they were actually doing since in her description of Cumulonimbus clouds, the professor described the changes one might expect. The snow part added when the spell was given. He wrote it all in his notes before switching to practicing.
Stricidium Nubila...Stiricidium Nubla...Stiricidium Nubila
Benny tried to get it to roll of his tongue but it wasn't the easiest incantation by far. He repeated it a few more times before opting to start practicing the wand movement instead. A point up at the cloud and a counter clockwise motion. The first part was okay but he was never a fan of determining between clockwise and counterclockwise. It tended to get him in trouble in potions when he mixed them up.
Up...clockwise turn.
Nope, that wasn't it.
Up...turn.
Up...turn.

Not really sure if she had the correct pronunciation or not, she decided to practice the wand movement. It seemed simple enough. She twirled her wand in a counter clockwise swirly motion. This was fun. Now all she had to do was put the two together. Looking over at her sister, it looked like she was having a hard time herself. Angel managed to get rocks coming out of her cloud. Sure, it wasn't what they were looking for, but it was something.
It was now or never. What was the worse that could happen? Her thoughts went back to her little incident on the fifth floor. Nah, what were the odds of that happening more than once? The first year looked over to see how far Adi was from her in case she needed help. He was in arms reach so he could tend to her in a moments notice. AJ didn't really want to have to ask the professor for help since she was crabby.
Hand on her wand she gave the spell a whirl. "Stiricidium Nubila!" counter clockwise swirl, annnnnd it was the biggest letdown of her little magical life. Nothing happened! She couldn't be sure, but she though the cloud was smirking at her. Rude.

| doesn't proofread tweets | #wrongaboutcereal | #siriusly? | emo to the extremo Seeing Professor Bellaire was rather busy, Zander decided to take matters in his own hands. He looked at his bird thunderstorm and decided that it was worth another shot. "Stiricidium Nubila," ....... "Stiricidium Nubila,".... "Stiricidium Nubila,"..... It didn't even sound like a spell anymore. Just some nonsense sounds.
He moved his wand counter clock-wise as he chanted the weird sounding incantation. Okieee Professor... Whatever you say. He noticed his cloud stopped spitting out birds! HAZZA! And now it was.... raining rocks? Um. THIS ISN'T SNOW!????
