She was not late? Whew, she slowed down to a walk as she got closer to the classroom. AJ had heard rumors about this particular professor so she made sure that she looked nice and neat. Yup, she looked about as put together as a tomboy could. As she walked into the classroom she smiled at the professor. Geeze, she did not look happy. "Good Morning professor. My name is Aubrey Valentine. It's nice to meet you." The first year noticed a few familiar faces, and decided to go next to Adi because frankly she figured he needed her more than the others with everything going on. Seeing that everybody was still standing she decided to do the same. It was most likely something that the professor wanted them to do and she did not want to cross her this early in the morning. She looked like she may eat students for breakfast. |
Transfiguration. Why did Benjy take this subject again? Probably because he coasted along in it just fine. Actually, he seemed to manage to do that in a lot of subjects - but none of them had a Professor like Bellaire. Yes, he respected her, but it didn't mean to say he liked her. Regardless, Benjy straightened himself up outside the classroom, as seemed to be the norm nowadays. Everyone having a sneaky brush of their hair, or final lint rolling of their robes. In Benjy's case, it involved there was no stray food from breakfast, and checking that the polishing charm he'd used on his shoes had lasted it to the lesson. So far, so good. Shirt was tucked in, robes were neat, and he'd even taken his fang earring out. Happy, he headed into the classroom, and greeted the Professor with a smile. "Good morning," he said cheerily, as he walked past the front desk and stood the other side of Vesper. Good morning indeed. |
So I had individual posts typed up for everyone then chrome crashed. Sorry SPOILER!!: replies Professor Bellaire checked her watch, then pointed her wand at the door which slammed shut. It was locked so whoever was late, had to stay out. ooc: As of this point, class has started and anyone who posts arriving will lose points. Happy RPing :) "Class is now officially in session. For the reaminder of the school year we will be working on a project. Every lesson will be dedicated to the completion of said project. But before I begin let me take the time out to remind everyone present that this is my classroom. The classroom of Professor Jane Wright-Bellaire and every rule I set in this classroom is meant to be followed or will be followed because I will not hesistate to through any rule breaker into detention or out of my class. And I care zero, who your parents are. Hope that is clear." She eyed the entire class before moving on. "Today we'll be replicating snow clouds. To achieve this we will be using the Weather-Modifying Charms. Now the weather modifying charms are a group of charms that are used to affect the weather in an area." As she spoke the words started appearing on the board behind her. And yes she expected them to take those notes down before leaving the classroom. "However, as this is not charms class and due to the fact that these charms are highly regulated, I will be casting the first weather changing charm to set the ground work for the rest of you..." In other words she would be making their lives a whole lot easier and reducing the rest of someone seriously messing this up. "Are there any questions before we proceed any further with this lesson?" |
EEP! It seemed like the rumors she heard about this professor were true. Replicating snow clouds sounded like good fun, but it sounded like it would be difficult wand work and she was still rusty with all that. Then, the professor stated that she would be the one casting the charm and that definitely worked for her. Questions? Yes, she did have one actually. She raised her hand. Professor, may I sit down to take notes?" She needed to do that right? It seemed like everybody was still standing and she didn't want to be in detention over sitting down. That just seemed like a waste of energy. |
Whoa! Jasmine was a little taken aback So they would be working on a term-long project. Jasmine's interest was piqued. She begn to take notes, adding the important details to her notebook. Any questions? Nope, none so far. Well, maybe one......but she was a little afraid to ask it. |
This Professor really was stern, wasn't she? Out of all the things he had been told about the school, why was it that nobody had bothered to tell him this?! Oh jeez. They were going to be replicating SNOW CLOUDS? THAT was their year long project? Grayson scowled a little as he looked up at the ceiling, trying to imagine snow clouds appearing there. This was just plain WEIRD. And what was an ice menagerie? Because this fourth year had thought they'd be sculpting ice into different animals but if they were going to be replicating snow clouds, he couldn't see where the menagerie part came in. There were ups and downs to this, of course. This was a weather modifying charm and weather was a BORING topic. Like something you talked about when you didn't know what to talk about. The ups included snowball fights if they managed to make it snow so much. Something told them that snowball fights weren't going to be taking place here, which was another down-side. Shame. Questions? He cast a furtive glance around the room before looking back at the Professor and shaking his head. No questions. Maybe if they'd have to write out their findings in an essay but he didn't want her to see the look of horror on his face if she said yes. Though that tiny person had asked a good one. Could they sit down? |
Angel wanted to tale notes but where they allowed to sit, she had no idea and it seemed like everyone had been given seats and she was new so she didn't have a seat, now she had no idea what to do, she was glad when her sister asked the question that had been on her mind, she was glad her sister had an identical brain to her. |
That thing where Benjy wondered why he came to Transfiguration? It wasn't getting any better. Mainly because he didn't understand why they needed to replicate clouds. They were in Scotland, in winter. You only had to look out of the window to see plenty of the things. And sure, most of them were rainclouds, but snow was plentiful too at this time of year. Why not somehow lasso them down, and make it less rainy outside so he could go skateboarding more? Skateboarding in the rain was no fun at all. Also, he was pretty sure she'd said charm. Weird. Anyway. Questions. Yes, Benjy had one. "Sorry, Professor," he asked politely, "but who is Professor Wright-Bellaire that you mentioned? Are we going to have a visiting Professor as well this term?" He just wanted to be in the know with these things. Yup. Also, why did West and Nigel have their hair up like that? It looked odd. |
Well, if Professor Bellaire was more worried about the hair of her bandmates, Vesper would take it. Anyway, the fact that the woman had mentioned the band at all pleased the 'Claw...though, she had fudged their name. Honest mistake, surely. Of course, when Benjy made an appearance...and decided to sit right beside her, she sought out the professor's face again. Ves had to remind herself that Bellaire most likely knew nothing, which was best, and that all was well. And.....she hadn't even considered if this could be weird or awkward for herself....and it probably would've been had she been given the time to properly think it over... ...but class was starting. ...Were the able to sit yet? And no, she had no questions. Snow clouds were snow clouds...and given that she had zero confidence in Transfiguration spells, this whole thing would most likely be embarrassing. "No, ma'am."...because the question warranted a reply...or something. |
Adi smiled slightly at AJ as she stood at the desk next to his. She didn't have to sit next to him but he figured she didn't want him to feel alone. The third year turned his attention to Professor Bellaire. It was no surprise to him when she started off speaking. The lady stood for no nonsense. He bet the first years and the other new students got the shock of their lives though. Adi listened to what they would be doing today. Cool! Replicating Snow clouds! More cold stuff! Awesome. He couldn't wait to get started. As for questions? He had none. |
Okay, now THIS was completely ridiculous. Sophie would be respectful because her parents taught her to be, but so far this class had been nothing but pure disrespect from the professor herself. She was just a tad uptight about things, which had Sophie fuming on the inside. How was it appropriate to take twenty points from Slytherin for people sitting down?! But again...Sophie would be respectful because she was taught to be. She took a small breath and cleared her mind so as to focus on the lesson and not how she felt about the beginning of class. The professor started discussing the actual lesson then, so Sophie adjusted her quill and parchment and began taking notes. Questions? Nope. None about the lesson, at least. |
Norah's eyes widened as she watched Professor Bellaire dock points from student after student. She felt her shoulders slump a little in disappointment before the crash of the door slamming sent her jumping back to attention. When a first year she didn't recognize spoke, asking if they could sit down, Norah stopped herself from beaming at her, because if hugs weren't allowed in here then rallying against the professor probably wouldn't be a good idea. That was a brave thing to do, that's for sure. She saw the girl was wearing Gryffindor robes and nodded approvingly. That sorting hat really did know it's stuff, yep. Could they sit down, though? She had a killer itch on her foot and she didn't want to draw attention to herself by bending over to scratch it. That didn't seem very ladylike, anyway. |
Not that she wasn't excited to be here...and not that she wasn't completely willing to work--nor complaining, that definitely wasn't happening either...it was just....why did Professor Bellaire insist on having classes so early in the morning? Her brain didn't come into itself until sometime around 10. That being said, the tired look of the Gryffindor was expected. Knowing she'd have Bellaire first thing today, she'd made an attempt to sleep early but that failed and now as she listened to the Professor she found half the words going through one ear and coming through the next. Luckily she grasped something about a class project and something about the weather. Kinda funny how she'd taught them that weather protection charm back in her first year and now she was teaching them how to change weather. Er...that is...if that's what they were doing. Oh merlin she needed to pay attention!! Lex managed to snap back to attention at the all for questions at which point she gave a brief shake of her head and a "No Ma'am." No question. You'd actually have been paying attention to be able to ask those. Maybe next time. |
Removing his Transfiguration book, a few sheets of parchment and a quill. On the sheet he wrote: Ice Menagerie Garden, Transfiguration 2083-2084. The highly regulated Weather-Modifying charms may be used for the purposes of replicating snow clouds. Follow up on any other uses of charms and transfiguration. Weather charms, though. Those were interesting. You could literally rain on someone's parade with one of those. Cutty put his quill down and paid close attention. |

Lucy took notes about the Professor's words and said:" Excuse me Professor..because you have spoken of the first weather changing charm may I ask you how many weather changing charms there are?" |
Candice was surprised at the amount of points Professor Bellaire took from the students. This Transfiguration Professor was really scary. And that opening statement made her even more scary if that was possible. Snow Clouds? That sounds awesome. She LOVED snow. The first year definitely gonna enjoy this lesson despite how scary Professor Bellaire was. Weather-Modifying Charms? That didn't sound easy. Questions? "No, ma'am." |
Josie practically felt her heart jump from the moment Professor Bellaire had deducted three point from her house for her sitting without her permission. Drats. Quickly collecting her things she'd arisen without any hesitation. She bowed her head a little bit as she softly said, "I-I'm very sorry P-Professor.." …. Class had begun & from what she'd said they were going to be replicating snow clouds. Hm, well it certainly did kind of her remind her of a Charms lesson a little bit, BUT SHE DEFINITELY WASN'T COMPLAINING PROFESSOR NOT IN THE SLIGHEST, HONEST! It would be interesting how she was going to teach them all of that, since it was going to be a project they'd be focusing on all term. But when asked, Josie didn't have any questions to ask her, so she quickly shook her head before replying to the scary lady's opening statement, "N-No, ma'am.." |
Well it’s a good thing that Ethan’s a morning person, therefore he didn’t need to worry about yawning and looking tired in the morning. He did hear stuff about this professor—stuff that included being extra neat and all that. Since he’s a new student, he had to take all the ‘warnings’ seriously, because he wanted to leave a good impression. Ethan observed on how true these rumors are. The Slytherin mentally nodded as he witnessed first-hand as to how true things were. And…points? Really...what’s the score for actually? The third year quietly continued his observation and shook his head when asked if he had any questions. “No ma’am.” Scary woman is scary. |
Five points from Gryffindor!? But class hadn't even technically started yet!? What has her knickers in a twist. This is an outrage! All the boy even did was yawn. Okay yes it was a little rude, but five points?? REALLY? Was that necessary. Zander looked over to his fellow lion that had lost points and gave him a shrug to let him know that it wasn't a huge deal. It wasn't even anything he had really done wrong. This professor was just not having any of it today. But hey, at least Slytherin lost WAY more points! Every rule must be followed blah blah blah. Why was she even so strict. She's joining the ranks of Culloden. Weather-Modifying Charms? Shouldn't they be learning this in.... Well, charms? But snow clouds shouldn't be toooo bad. Hopefully... Ah yes, charms. HA, he was right! Any questions? Nope. He was actually kind of scared to say anything at this point. Didn't want to lose any house points. Especially after she had shown her ruthlessness earlier. So nope no questions for Zander. Instead of speaking up the young boy just shook his head. |
Desiree stood near the front, but not too near- a nice middle ground. Hopefully the perfect position to view the Professor demonstrating her weather charm- though this wasn't charms class she supposed charms could transfigure things just as well as any spell. And the thought of creating snow clouds sounded thrilling, challenging, but thrilling. Professor Bellaire seemed a bit 'chilly' herself- but, perhaps just a side effect of practicing those cold weather charms. Yes, that was probably it. She didn't have any questions, and really didn't think the Professor was expecting or wanting a reply so she shook her head slightly and waited. |
Marigold bit her lip as inconspicuously as possible. She really enjoyed this class, but she wished she wasn't petrified of Bellaire. She had hoped maybe being older |
They were going to make clouds? Check. Cris quickly wrote that down in his journal while still standing. Was she going to let them sit anytime soon? Cris wondered to himself although that was one question he wasn't going to ask. So any questions? Cris quickly shook his head to indicate he had none for now. |
WELL. Maddie watched as points were taken away even before the lesson had officially started and made a mental note to NEVER EVER get on this woman's bad side. And the small brunette had thought CULLODEN might be tough, heh. She'd need to devise a scale and rate the professors so her, Dima, and Kyroh could reference it before making decisions because they clearly had to be careful with SOME, UH-HUH! As for weather stuff, Maddie raised her eyebrows slightly at the mention of being able to replicate snow clouds. That was interesting and sounded like hard work but she was CLEARLY willing to learn. Also, no questions here. The small brunette shook her head and stood still, waiting for things to get going. |
Bla bla bla… That was what the now fifth year heard while the teacher was speaking, it was just… Not interesting… It was boring! So, she didn’t really listened to what she was saying, this lesson wasn’t her favorite lesson so she wasn’t missing much information, and besides... What wanted this teacher do to get this lesson interesting? She remembered from all her lessons that this was one of her most boring lessons so she didn’t believed that this term would be a difference… And now that she looked at the professor she decided that the professor was not in a good mood because why else would she start her lesson like this? She stared around her, wondering why a lot students here seemed to like what the professor was telling and she waited for something less boring to happen, she had no questions and she didn’t wanted to look smart, like a stupid nerd! Nooooo way! She would wait until the teacher was going to do something! |
What on earth was wrong with this Professor?! Shocked when she was first told off for saying hello (o_O) the incredulousness she felt only grew with each interaction. Points loss for sitting down? Really? Looking back on it, was she this mean last term? All that Lux could really remember was the lady liked rules and was strict. Now mean could be added to the mix. The project did sound rather interesting, and she had heard about term projects. So this one might be fun, she supposed. Furiously, she started taking notes. And no, she didn't have any questions. Best not risk saying something that would displease the Professor, because she seemed so grumpy. |
