Transfiguration 1 -Let the Storm Rage On As is per usual, Transfiguration class is one of the first lessons for the day. Yes, bright and early. Of course your professor doesn't wish to hear any complaints or see any yawning because you should all just be used to it by now. When you enter the classroom, you notice that the desk and chairs are all neatly lined to the sides. The windows that would normally be wide open for the crisp morning breeze to wave through are closed and Professor Bellaire is standing by her desk waiting, wand in hand and scowl in place. On the board is an outline of sorts. Quote:

First lesson of the day. Transfiguration. Leah was actually looking forward to her first Transfiguration lesson of the new school year, and she was unusually bright-eyed and clear-minded as she entered the classroom (eeep! She was early!). And of course, she knew that Professor Bellaire did not like to see people yawning. The second year walked to the professor's desk and said, "Good morning, Professor Bellaire! Hope you had a nice summer. And uh, in case you don't know, my name is Leah Abbott. Second year." She looked quite fierce today, or was it normal? Leah, walking towards a desk, scanned the board. Ice Menagerie Garden. Seems fun. She stood next to a desk in the middle near a window and waited for the lesson to begin. |
West was early. And his uniform was tidy and straight of course because it was Bellaire. He'd made extra sure of being spotless since after she'd snapped him and Vesper in the library he didn't really want to draw her ire in any particular way. .... and she was scowling. "Good morning Professor Bellaire." the former captain greeted, and found a spot nearish the front. He stood and waited, looking around the room until his eyes settled on the board. Ice menagerie? .... ice sculpture stuff maybe? He was intrigued. |
She was not sleepy. Nope, she wasn't. Who said that? Her eyes were feeling a little bit smaller was all. And all the way to the classroom, the blond willed them to open properly. She could do it. Seemed like being seventeen didn't mean she could wake up early whenever she went to sleep. Cassia was so going to sleep early today. Getting out of bed was so hard just a bit ago. Though, by the time she got to the classroom, she had thankfully been able to look as refreshed as possible. And so she entered the classroom, and a chill ran through her body. An extra layer wouldn't have hurt. Too late however. "Good morning, Professor," she greeted the woman who stood like it was sometime in the evening. How did she manage that? |
As per usual, Nigel did not like classes this early. But Transfig was the exception since he actually liked this class. Nigel yawned before entering the room to get it out of his system. Though it is not like you can control the thing. They are contagious. "Morning Professor" Nigel stood/leaned against an open desk and waited to see how long it would take before she wrote her summer was fine on the board again. That was hilarious. Oh look at that, Ice Menagerie. Sounds interesting. |
Lucy was excited for the first lesson of Transfiguration. Lucy walked into the classroom, she smiled and said: "Good morning Professor Bellaire, my name is Lucy, a first year!" Then she turned to see a familiar face... |

She knew. It was her job to know. "Good morning Miss Abbott. My summer was fine." Quote:
"Good morning Mr. Odessa." Quote:
"Good morning Ms. Somerlad. I trust you're well." Quote:
She slipped her wand back up her sleeve into her arm holster and folded her arms then looked between West and Nigel. "I know you boys grow your hair because you're doing the band of dead kneazels thing, but I am going to insist that you pull it into a ponytail when coming to class. You are going to tuck said ponytail under so it's a stump. Otherwise you'll leave class with a high and tight." Quote:
Really, these parents should invest in wizard prep. Students needed prepping before they start official schooling. |
Transfiguration was early as usual. Not that Adi minded. He felt well rested so he happily made his way to the classroom. "Good morning, Professor,'' Adi greeted cheerfully. There weren't many students present and he supposed a few might be hurriedly getting ready in their dorms. Adi found a seat somewhere in the middle of the class but of course he didn't sit. The boy stood next to the desk, waiting patiently for Bellaire to give permission first. |

...? West eyed Bellaire for a moment. He'd been wearing his hair long since he'd grown it out several years ago, and Nigel was much the same, so why now? She'd been teaching them both for literal years and it hadn't been a problem before. Actually, the hair predated the band for both of them. He shot a quick look at Nigel, somewhat amused, and then returned his attention to Bellaire. "I don't mind tying my hair back, Professor." But if the girls could have non-stumpy hair, then why couldn't he? He tied his hair back, not at all bothered by that part at least, but didn't tuck nothing. No stumpy hair for West Odessa, but it was tidy at least, and had been slicked back before he'd arrived so no wild strands out of place either. |
You would think being off to the side of the room. You would would not told off for leaning against a desk. Wonder if she would have said the same thing last term. Things to ponder. But apparently since he was early, he could not even get that luxury. If it was one. Kneazels....... Oh, their band and what was that that about their hair. It was a tiny bit amusing. Since his and West's haisr has been long for ages now. But..that was a threat. A threat against his beautiful hair. "I don't mind putting it in a ponytail and a high and tight is not necessary" Ever. It was just the stump he had a problem with. But it is not like he is going to say anything. She threatened his hair. |
Toby was now very much used to the standards that Professor Bellaire expected in her classroom. He was very glad it was one of the first lessons of the day, too, because his restless self wouldn't have the time to end up looking all scruffy thanks to the perpetual motion thing. He'd stopped in the boy's bathroom just before getting here, making sure his uniform was still on straight and his hair was tidy (though he'd showered after his morning run, so it had no reason not to be), and now headed into the classroom. "G'morning Professor Bellaire," Toby said brightly as he entered, heading to his usual spot at the side of the classroom, over by one of the closed windows. There was no chair or desk to stand behind so Toby merely stood there. He found himself tapping his hands against his legs and quickly moved his hands so they were clasped behind his back, not wanting to irritate the professor. One knee was already lightly bouncing, and Toby did his best to keep the movement as discreet as possible, chewing anxiously on his lip as he did so. He almost seemed to give off the air that he was trembling, though that was favourable, if you asked him. |

"..Tuck the ponytails....." She tapped her wand in her hand middle as she looked at them and waited patiently. |
Hmm? Vesper had stopped just outside of the classroom to make sure everything was in order. Hair brushed, clothes straight, shoes shiny...but when she'd finally entered, Bellaire was threatening hair. Well, it was obvious who's hair. Who else really had it? Her eyes found West and Nigel both. What was with the ponytails? And why were they being asked to...tuck them? Confusion. Yes, that's what her look entailed. Not thinking much more about it, she casually strode over to the seat beside West and grinned. There was a grin for Nigel, too. Band people. Though, if Scan showed his face, she was NOT speaking to him...or even LOOKING in his direction. Nope. SO MUCH 'NOPE'. "Good morning, Professor Bellaire." Her tone was all polite. She wouldn't still be sore at her for library related things, would she? |
Bay walked into the transfiguration class room and stopped a few students there already, seeing the Professor out of the corner of his eye he started to speak with out really looking at her "Professor, good morning... I wanted to tell you about my Transfiguration OWL------" thats when he looked up to see her looking mad.. Wait was she actually scowling...gulp. He didnt say any more as he moved his way to the other students to see he notice board... ice what??? He had no clue what it meant but he wasnt going to ask, He was a little afraid. |
Jasmine was up bright and early today, ready for her first Transfiguration class. She had heard that the Professor was a stickler for neatness so she made sure to double check her appearance before class. Arriving at the classroom, she was intending to intoduce herself to Professor Bellaire. Jasmine was not exactly encouraged by the look on the Professor's face. On her way to finding a seat, Jasmine approached Professor Bellaire and said, "Good morning Professor". "My name is Jasmine Guidry. I'm new to Hogwarts and I'm really looking forward to your class." Moving on, she found an empty desk. Noticing that her classmates did not sit down, Jasmine stood by her desk and waited for further instructions. |

....... Though...Toby's constant movements didn't escape her eyes. She turned to eye him briefly. Quote:
"Have you lost your mind? Get out and re-enter properly." |
Angel had been looking forwards to this class. "I'm Angel Valentine, First Year." Angel beamed at the Professor. "I hope that you had a great summer and I can't wait to learn more magic from my magic stick." Angel beamed she really couldn't wait to learn but she was confused about what was written on the board but decided she didn't want to look stupid, no one else was asking what it was. |
Oh no..Transfiguration.. Not one of her strongest classes. And not not only that, Professor Bellaire certainly frightened the second year. It wasn't that she was absolutely terrible at Transfiguration, it was just, she was absolutely terrified of doing something wrong & getting yelled at by the scary Professor. Josie made sure her uniform was perfect, as well as her hair, as she made her way into the classroom. Her blue eyes settled right on the scowling Professor Bellaire. …Oh dear... She gulped a little bit, before clearing her throat as she spoke in a shaky soft tone, "G-Good morning, P-Professor B-Bellaire.." As if it wasn't any more obvious that she was terrified, she knew it was best not to show any other sign. Josie smiled politely before turning on her heels heading straight for a seat, placing her bum down instantly. |
Nigel gave a look at West before thinking it would be the wisest course of action to just be quiet and do as she wants. Occam's Razor and all that. Nobody else entering the room seemed to be helping matters. If fact they seemed to only be making things worse. So yeah, He put his hair into a ponytail and then tucked it. It was not the best look. But he did not want a haircut from Bellaire. So he did not have much of a choice. |

Walking back in he didn't look at the Professor but he kept his mouth shut and stood there. |
Candice was not a morning person but somehow she managed to get herself out of the bed. Maybe its because the fact that Transfiguration was one of the classes she was looking forward too. The first year checked her appearance first before she entered the classroom. Yes, she did read the rules and her brother already warned her about how strict the Transfiguration Professor was. After she's sure that everything was in order, Candice made her way into the classroom. "Good Morning, Professor." she greeted the Transfiguration politely. And she did notice her scowl. She wondered why. |
Sophie caught most of what had been going on as she entered through the classroom door. She made a quick mental note of things. - West and Nigel had to pull their hair back. - Some girl got called by her name and her year, for some reason. - That Gryffindor guy, who was just excited about his OWL, got yelled at and told to re-enter class. Conclusion: Who died and left Bellaire to be Queen? Sophie had always tried her hardest to respect the Transfiguration professor, but she did think her rules and procedures were a little out there and unnecessary. Didn't every teenager dislike something about the adults they were around, though? Shrug. "Good morning, Professor Bellaire," she said, as she passed by the woman. Then she found a spot and stood waiting to be told to sit down. |
Bellaire was going to get wrinklier if she kept that scowl going like that. "Hello, Professor." Schuyler slipped into the classroom, her books hugged against her chest. The closed windows and the arrangement of desks were both noted, and once she'd found a place to set her things down, she glanced to the blackboard for insight on the lesson. Ice menagerie. Aah. Her first thoughts went to that topiary project for Herbology. Blue eyes skimmed the rest of the classroom and she found that Nigel and West were going for some new looks with that long hair. Tucked in? ..Well. That must have been at Bellaire's request because that looked kind of horrid. Such a shame to hide away their nice hair. Though it didn't look like their professor was hassling any of the girls about it, so double standard it was. She smirked at the two boys and lifted her eyebrows as if to say 'nice hair' in plain sarcasm. Teasing, you know. |
Marigold was a bit afraid of Bellaire, to be honest. Actually, more honest things - she knew she wasn't the only one. Between walking in to Dead Kneazle members wearing their hair all weird and passing a boy leaving just to come back in - it seemed they were all a little terrified. Well, what better way to ensure good manners? "Good morning, Professor Bellaire," she said, offering a genuine smile. Just because she was terrified of her didn't mean she wasn't a good teacher? Plus, she absolutely ADORED her term projects. And it seemed they had a good one this year. By the way, she was NOT sitting down. Never ever before she told them to, NUH UH. |
Norah had been skipping down the hall until she reached the doorway of the transfiguration classroom and noticed from afar the scowl on the professor's face. She sure didn't look like she would condone skipping. Norah stood up straight and walked stiffly into the room with her shoulders squared. When she passed the professor's desk she gave her a meek smile and said, "Good morning, Professor Bellaire. My n-n-name is Norah Kittredge." Darn! Even after all her propriety she had still stuttered. She gave the professor another smile, hoping she simply hadn't noticed her stumble, and turned to take a seat at the front row of desks. She wondered offhandedly if Professor Bellaire was always so stern. Maybe she just wasn't a morning person. Nobody else seemed to be sitting, so she stood stiffly next to the desk waiting for instructions. Norah's eyes fell on the board and she read the outline quickly. An ice menagerie? Sounds cool! She found her excitement surge back to her, and gave a discreet bounce or two. No matter how intensely the professor seemed to be scowling, at least the lesson would be cool! |
