Michael didn't know whether to be amused or annoyed with the Professor right now. This conversation was not particularly easy for him either. He took a couple of steps closer to the Professor and looked down at him as he lay on the fountain's edge. "Why in Merlin's name did you offer to have this talk?" It was the only reason that Michael had come up here and spill his guts about his personal life. The man had offered to hear his problems and Michael thought that maybe an outsider might have a different perspective. Apparently though it had been too much for the Astronomy Professor. Michael reached down and gave Airey a few pokes with is finger. "Professor? Are you still with me?" The poking turned into shaking and then accidentally on purpose, Michael gave the Professor a good hard shove towards the water. |
Quote:
Twitching ever so slightly at the initial poke, his arms dropped from his sides and hung like limp noodles on either side. Which was a bad idea for his left arm because it went SPLASH into the fountain. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR that was COLD! Oh hey. There were words wanting to come out now. Stellar. But before he could properly answer - something along the lines of he had wanted to speak to the Gryffindor because he was concerned by his sullen face during his lesson - but the poking had intensified and the next thing Airey knew he was...rolling...and then... *SPLASH* FLAILING! SPITTING OUT WATER! MORE FLAILING! SHOE BEING KICKED OFF AND FLUNG ACROSS THE TOWER PATCH! "SWEET SOLSTICE IT'S FREEZING!" he howled, teeth chattering, while trying to climb out of the fountain. "Boomerang Nebula level freezing!" No, maybe worse. Maybe The Cold Atom Lab experimentation level cold. HE WAS FREEZING ALRIGHT?! |
Lol! Quote:
Oh. Whoopsie. Michael was on the verge of laughing at the Professor's failing when a shoe came flying towards his head. He quickly ducked out of the way before he got smacked in the face. And according to Airey the water was just a wee bit cold. Michael was once again on the verge of laughing but he managed to hold it in by biting on the inside of his cheek. The last thing he needed was a detention. "Here." He said holding out his hand towards the Professor. "Let me help you." |
:3 whoops? XD Quote:
Teeth chattering so violently that he felt like his brain was rattling within his skull, he reached out for Mr. Toussaint's hand and grabbed hold. You know what was tempting in this situation? Pulling the boy in as well. Only fair since he had been pushed in, but he refrained from doing so because Seren would be quite cross with him if a Gryffindor ended up in the Hospital Wing with pneumonia. Not to mention what Cece would do. SHUDDER. "T-T-T-T-T-TH-TH-TH-THAAAAAAAAAA-THANK YOU, M-M-M-MMMMMR. T-T-T-T-TOUUUUUU-S-S-SAINT," he managed to squeak out as he somehow pulled himself out of the fountain and rolled on to the ledge."T-T-T-Tell me, h-h-h-how p-p-proficient are you w-w-w-with a H-H-HOOOOt Air Charm?" Or conjuring a blanket, but the latter may be a little advanced for his year. Either way, he could hardly straighten his fingers let alone hold his wand, so there would be no spellcasting on the astronomer's part. Stupid freezing slushie water. Stupid ridiculously cold weather. |

For a second there when Flammy grabbed hold of his hand, Michael thought the Professor was going to drag him into the water. Personally if it had been him in the man's situation he would have definitely done it. Airey though must have a conscience which Michael was very much thankful for. "No problems Professor." It was the least he could since he had pushed the man into the water. Accidentally of course. Well that's what he was going to say if Airey asked him about it. Oh. OH! Michael immediately shoved his hand into his pocket and pulled out his wand. "Rather good Sir." And he gave his wand a complicated little wave and "Ventus." He said confidently and was relieved to see steam issue from his wand so he waved it over the man's clothes. "Maybe I should have this conversation with the Head of House." Or any of the others Professor's would be good. |
Quote:
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah... warm air. Dry clothes. Dry hair. Warm fingers. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarm... The tension in his limbs slowly diminished, so at least he didn't look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame, and now that he was dry he was somewhat optimistic that he would not catch pneumonia or some other wintery cold. Then again...he had swallowed some of the water in the fountain and Merlin knew what was in there besides water. "Stellar. 4 points to you, Mr. Toussaint, for proper and efficient application of a charm during a time of crisis...and saving my suit from waterlogged damage." Okay, so the latter half of that was a bit dramatic. Oh well. Oh....they were back to that again. The astronomer had hoped perhaps this fountain fiasco had distracted him enough to forget about it. Teenagers. "Had I known the nature of your troubles, I surely would have suggested the same," he replied, fidgeting again. He had zero experience in the matter even as an adult, so it was downright impossible for him to put himself in the boy's shoes. Except for when it came to....dreams. His parents hadn't exactly been keen on him wanting to become an astronaut - especially with the grades he had his first few terms - but you know, sometimes you just got to follow your instincts. Which would be replaced by the word 'heart' for the sake of this conversation. "That being said, I can offer you what little words of wisdom I have in hopes they are somewhat useful. Parents love their children, faults and all, and only have their child's best interest in heart. They can be irrational, protective, judgmental, misguided, but they are not doing what they do to be malevolent. But if you want them to see things your way, you cannot get on the defensive. Remind them that you appreciate their concerns, but just because their vision of how your life should shape up, er, who you are choosing to spend, er, time with isn't being delivered in the expected package doesn't mean it is entirely bad. Padmé Amidala and Anakin Skywalker would never have approved of their daughter, Princess Leia, choosing a smuggler from the manufacturing planet Corellia for a mate after all. Just have to, er, follow your heart and help parents see that heart." Of course, there were exceptions. There were always exceptions. This is why he hated this kind of illogical talk. Two plus two ended up meaning 42 with NO logical explanation. "Parents will come around, eventually, with a little patience and you maintaining the moral high ground." Because everyone knew how important it was to have the higher ground. Life lessons learned from Obi Wan Kenobi right there. |
♥ As curious as she was that had the astronomy professor as nervous as he was, they HAD turned down the wrong corridor a few times, she kept her mouth shut. Besides, she was as much curious to know why the tower patch of all places was suggested. It was a little difficult to get the door open to the open outdoor patch due to the, ahem, icy conditions, and the burst of chill was no better. Cue the giant shiver and cling to Airey's arm from no jacket. But the sight was something to behold, as she predicted. Chilled wonderland! "Goodness..." she muttered under her breath. Chilled wonderland indeed. |

Bloody brilliant, Flamsteed. Lead her all the way up here and cause her to get frostbite. Good move. Smoooooooooooooth as chunky peanut butter. "I...er....I suppose I should make this quick then. Before we freeze," he said through slightly chattering teeth as he patted his trouser pocket for what seemed like the ten billionth time since he had gone to get her at her office. |
Quote:
"Thank you." It was only after she'd snuggled further into the material did she realize that Airey was now standing there probably freezing to death. Even if he had was wearing a spear. Well done, she should've brought her own jacket. Not that it would've taken long to grab before they ventured up here. But, oh yes, what was the reason they came up here anyways? Sounded serious. The...worrying serious too. Up in the tower patch. Alone. With serious business. Stare. Wait patiently. Shiver. Stare. Nothing of the bad news sorts was it? Oh dear... |

Clearing his throat, he shoved one hand into his pocket and held on tightly to the small box while he rocked back on his heels. "So...um...you know...um...this place...well not THIS place as in this spot because we were over there. At the fountain. Not here. Um. But...not the point. Um." Come ooooooooooon, Flamsteed. "This place has...emotional attachment to it." Oh yes. So romantic. Give him a gold star for not even trying? "I mean...you know....nearly 3 years ago were were up here and...things happened...things that started it all..." You know, the ice cream that gave him the courage to kiss her and then they both went frolicking down to Professor Lafay's office to serenade her in the middle of the night. Those sorts of things. "So...um...it just seemed like the best sort of location to, er, um, see if we, er, wanted to evolve. Level up. Er...." Yeah...not going like he had planned at all. He stopped his rocking just enough to remove a small flat box - no ribbon and no wrapping because his decoration jobs were always horrible - and handed it to Medea."I want you to have this." Inside the box, were she to open it, was nothing more than a simple every day run of the mill key. |
*stalks other stuff* Quote:
Her wand hand moved around the slightest bit, enough to start him gliding through the air. "I can teach you this spell if you'd like." To start off their... whatever friendship. "And you can try it on your friends." |
Quote:
With the less than joyful scenarios arriving in bundles, her toes scrunched up and knees locked together before she saw the small box come into view. A...small box. That...looked...nothing like what she was imagining to happen, oh thank goodness. Letting out the breath she was holding, resulting what looked like a puff of smoke in front of her, she silently composed herself. "Level up?" she repeated with a twinkly smile as she took the simple box. Plenty of items could fit in a small flat box. PLENTY of items. Though she never would have guessed this particular item to be...a key. A key to what? A key to... .... Oh my. |
Quote:
"Yeah, um, you see...in er, muggle role playing video games characters gain experience points and when they reach a certain point they gain a level. Become stronger. More powerful. But, er, sometimes...in order to get to an even stronger level, er, place...they need something extra. Like...a thunder stone or deployed in certain locations..." So, really, the gift signified both those things. An item and a new location. Well, sort of new. She was no stranger to his humble abode. "So, er..." he paused to run the back of his FREEZING neck with his hand. Oh Merlin, had his hair follicles frozen? He was pretty sure he had just rubbed the lower part of his neck bare. Awkward. "That is a key to my home and I, um, I don't know which step you are, er, ready for...but I was kind of sort of hoping that maybe...you would...um, you know, um, consider perhaps...............................moving in with me?" Felines and all. And THAT was saying something. |
Quote:
.....oh my oh my. The repeated words of "a key to your home" in a question manner were just on her lips, but she was incapable of speaking as her gaze snapped up to Airey. A key to his home. He...he wanted her to move in with him? "Oh, Airey..." Was it just her or was it getting tingly warm? Or just...tingly. The freezing temperatures and the added hummingbird heartbeat she had gave an odd sensation in her feet and hands. "I...I vill of course, consider it." Did...did he need an answer...now? |
*stalks as well* Quote:
Way better than a ghost. LOOK HE WAS MOVING! AND AHHH! Kyroh even flapped his arms because that's what birds did right? Just incase Miss Dora accidentally let him go he'd have to flap to keep some momentum. That would totally keep him up in the air. Yup. "You CAN?" REALLLY!!!??!?? "Yes please!" |
*stalks you two* :3 Quote:
He also wasn't sure what sort of answer he was expecting or even hoping for. Yes would be nice, though. Since, you know, everyone hated rejection when you were putting yourself out there. For the first time. Merlin his palms were sweating profusely. And he was feeling hot. Almost hot enough to not notice the freezing temperatures outside. Almost. Inhaling sharply when she spoke, he locked eyes with her and waited for her to finish her thought. "STELLAR!" he exclaimed, arms wide and wrapped around her to give her one of those pick you off your feet and spin 360 degrees sort of hugs. "I mean...that's great. I mean thank you. I mean...I still want you to have that regardless. I want you to know you are always welcome and that you...." he paused for a moment because the words were catching in his throat. "...you have complete access to my life." Probably something he should have discussed with her first instead of just throwing this all at her at once. In freezing temperatures. Where she was wearing his coat and he was now standing their freezing with a red nose. His limbs still maintained his full mobility, which was useful as he pulled out one more thing from his pocket and handed her one (the one on the right). "Um...here...to, um, help you distinguish that key from all the others," he explained "Oh, and, um, Happy Valentine's Day." |
Quote:
Holding on to his upper arms, she softly laughed until her feet touched back to the ground, leaving a lingering merry smile in place. Heavens good gracious, complete access to his life. That...was a large thing to say. If that didn't warm someone up from head to toe and take their breath away like it did her, she didn't know what would. "Thank you...Airey. That means a lot." Truly, sincerely, and everything in between. Oh? But even more? Taking the small silver item, she couldn't not smile even more at the image and half finished phrase. And beyond. To infinity...and beyond. Biting her lip, she glanced up to him, holding the key and charm tightly in her cold hand. A repeated thank you didn't seem like enough for the grand gesture he'd made. Nothing she could currently think of did. Though she leaned forward to give a kiss. "Happy Valentine's day." One of the top ones yet. |
Quote:
Grinning from ear to ear, he reached up and tucked a stray strand of her hair behind her ear and tried not to allow his thoughts to wander so he could relish in this moment. Only it was hard to stop his thoughts from wandering to the future just a little. Especially when she said things like that. This was a huge step for him. One that he never imagined would happen and, well, he wasn't sure there could be a next step. Her kiss quickly brought his mind out of paralysis and his eyes refocused. Pressing his lips gently against hers, he smiled into the kiss and pulled her just a bit closer. For body warmth, naturally. It was FREEZING out here and he had given her his jacket. "We ought to get inside before we both catch pneumonia and rumors start spreading," he chuckled after pulling back just a little to rub her nose with his own. |
Quote:
"Sure. It's an easy spell." He would learn it this year anyway, so why not go ahead and teach it to him? She kept moving the boy around. "Would you like to learn now or after you're done flying around?" |
For Louis! Kace was really into exploring more of the Astronomy aspect of this castle. Hey maybe this is what he wanted to study? It was pretty cool. He loved looking at the stars and just learning about the world. He was exploring and came to this room. He was amazed by the beauty of it. He loved the little pool in the center and all of the benches. He decided to sit near the pool. He dangled his legs on the side of it. Aahhh it was quite peaceful in here. He could do some artwork. He got out his sketch pad and began to draw the scenery of this place. |
Quote:
But SHOWING people that he could make them fly around? Well they'd always be surprised and have no doubt at all that he was a Ravenclaw. "I'd like to learn now please Miss Dora!" Kyroh even STOPPED flapping. See? So ready to learn. |
Quote:
Though the little rub upon her nose with his was as cute as it was chilly. Goodness was that her nose that was so cold? Or his? It didn't prevent a smile from appearing however, a soft chuckle escaping her as she reluctantly pulled away a bit more to take his hands in hers. Quite chilly out, if anyone didn't know, and she had no gloves on. "Oh, ve vouldn't vont that. You know, my order of exotic phoenix maharaja chai oolong tea just arrived yesterday. Could varm us up if you vont to try it." Or just, standing inside would have been better too, no matter how marvelous it was to come up to the tower patch in the first place. |
Quote:
"That sounds perfect right now," he said through chattering teeth. Even if the name was really long, it had tea in it and that was good enough for him. Taking what he hoped was her hand in his - he knew it wasn't his own at least - he began to lead them back inside with the promise of tea helping him move. |
Quote:
Louis was making his way over to his favourite bench when he spotted a familiar head of blond hair sitting by the fountain - Kace. The Puffanova. With a grin, Lou put his intention to read on hold, and walked over to his younger friend instead; it had been a while since he’d last seen him. “Mind if I ask what you’re drawing?” asked the Gryffindor as he approached Kace and peeked over his shoulder at the sketch pad the boy held. With a chuckle, he proceeded to greet him more properly, “Hey, mate.” He sat beside him, though he chose not to dip his feet in the water. It was a little too cold still. “Doing alright? I haven’t seen you in months.” |
Quote:
Now back to his drawing, "Oh I was just sketching out the landscape here.." he said pointing to his sketch pad. "It is beautiful here. It is a work in progress though.." he shrugged. It was nice having his friend back and talking to him. |
