AMAZING start to the term, my dear Lions! Your fierce and competitive nature is showing, and it pleases me that you're using this energy to progress you're learning outcomes. I look forward to working with you all closely throughout the term.

I don't mean to discourage you from your studies, but remember to take a break from study from time to time and do something fun, do something for you. Keeping energised and de-stressed is fundamental to success. Participating in extra curricular activities is always a good route to take when needing a break or a new way to challenge yourself. Try your chance at gobstones? Or try dueling on for size? Or maybe even take up Mr. Kirby on his fitness club... what do you have to lose?

My my my! Excellent start to the term my dear Lions. Your fire and tenacity is showing, and I couldn't be more proud of your work ethic and application to your studies. Remember to keep up the good work and look after yourselves. The term has only just begun, and in order to remain the hunter and not the hunted you need to take your time to stop and smell the roses occasionally. Don't burn yourself out.

If you find yourself bored or wanting to try something new, why not come down and give Gobstones a go, or alternatively come and support your peers as they strive to win the Gobstones Cup. If that's not really your thing, and you prefer to get your heart pumping, stretch your legs and test your skills in the Dueling Arena.

Happy Holidays my dear Lions! And doesn't it feel good to see the rubies are commanding attention in the Great Hall this year? Red is such a festive colour.

Well done my dear Lions on your tremendous efforts this term. Each of you have played a key role in our success to date, so please do not be discouraged if you are not among our elite, because without each and every one of you our team would be at the bottom of the leaderboard.

Of course with the winter break coming up, catching up on rest and stretching your legs with some leisure time is important, but please ensure you set aside a few minutes each day to further your studies and complete your homework. The noticeboard is up-to-date with all the relevant tasks, so please do make use of it.

Don't go getting complacent, dear Lions! The race is far from over, and really it has only just begun. This is perhaps the strongest chance Gryffindor have had to claim the House Cup in a decade. The last time Gryffindor secured the title, was in 2074... and since then, have only managed to secure the Gobstones Championship in 2079.

This year, my dear Lions, it is our turn to be triumphant! To rise above the rest! However, as resilient as we have been in holding our lead over Slytherin, we need to rally, stand strong and show them exactly what we're made of. Let's make 2084 the year to end our House Cup drought.

The race is on!

The term is fasting coming to an end, and yet the race is only just getting started. Don't give up just yet, young Lions, for all your hard work will have been for nothing. Strive to achieve and be your very best, for this year... we make history!

Let us end the House Cup drought that Gryffindor have endured for too long. Let this year be the year that we clinch the title and show everybody what we are made of. The Snakes are not far behind, but now is not the time to give in. Fight back Gryffindor! Fight back!
