Jasmine smiled when Professor Bentley complemented her work and called her a capable Herbologist. Who would have ever thought that was possible? When she hugged the Professor though, she was unble to stop the tears from falling. Quickly wiping her eyes, Jasmine said, "I hate goodbyes too." Merlin she hated them, but it was better than the alternative.....lack of closure. Jasmine released the Professor and looked at her. "Until we meet again. I like that. Hasta la vista Professor Bentley. I'll think of you every time I look at my bonsai.". Yes, Charlie would remind her of Professor Bentley every day. "Good luck. I hope you enjoy the next chapter of your life." With that, Jasmine turned and left the office. Until we meet again Professor Bentley.

What surprised her more than the boys lack of self-confidence in the subject, was that he was asking about her summer... and vacations. Pausing, she peered behind her at the mess. The office was never meant to be permanent, so there was little to suggest much of anything in packing things up, especially now that the weather issue was being managed. Her old office would be fit for occupation again in no time at all. But that wasn't the reason for her packing. "Something like that," she replied uncertainly. Of course, that was a half truth, a terrible half truth... and it was about time she started acknowledging the future. "I'm actually taking some time off from teaching, so I won't be returning next year..."

Ethan just…stared at the woman.

Not coming back next year. So, the rumours are true…and his observation about her packed things confirmed that his theory is correct. It’s one of those theories that he wished he deduced wrong. “Oh.” Ethan completely lost his smile, even the twinkle in his eyes when Bentley broke the news to him. “Well…I guess I came in just in time then. To bid you farewell and say my thanks.” He said looking at the floor, feeling his ears turn pink. Whyyyyyyyy does it have to be her??? “I—I know Herbology isn’t my strongest subject, but…um…I just want you to know that you inspired me to overcome that.” He said glancing up at the woman, then back down to his feet.

Back in his old school, he’d dread coming to Herbology class but Bentley definitely changed that. She made it a whole lot easier for the boy. Now, Ethan gained hope that he’ll be able to pursue his dreams as a Magical Forensics Wizard Detective Dude, by checking one of his weakest subject off of his ‘To-Master’ list.

Should he…? Well, maybe he should because he won’t see her again anytime soon, yes? Ethan gave Bentley a hug, and murmured, “Thanks for everything, professor.” The blond boy released her with a weak smile on his face, doing his best to be brave and NOT get too emotional.

No goodbyes, okay?
