Directly below the Great Hall is the Hogwarts kitchen, complete with five tables identical to and directly below those of the Great Hall. Numerous house elves have returned and are busily working, always working, on the castle's next meal. They're surely willing to serve you a snack though, if you ask politely enough.
OOC: Please do not RP for the House Elves! We have a lovely group of actual elves who would love to RP with you if you will please be patient.

"The house elves don't mind people in there?" The birthday girl was all for cake but she didn't want to tick off the elves that made her food on a regular basis. Kyroh seemed pretty confident, though, and she was going to trust him for now.
Wait, it was here? "Where?" Maddie looked around and then noticed her fellow claw tickling a painting. WELL. That was interesting. Even MORE interesting was the doorknob that appeared! "Wow."
The brunette nodded her head as Kyroh lead the way inside and stopped to look around once she'd stepped out of the doorway. "So THIS is the kitchen." COOL.
YUP this was the kitchen. It was pretty cool too. Kyroh never expected it to be so large, but it made sense considering they had to cook food for everyone in the whole school.
Did the house elves mind? Er- "I don't really know." The claw admitted, shrugging his shoulders as he looked around the kitchen. The though had never occurred to him if the house elves minded or not. Was that a bad thing? "My friend Ezra came down here on the first night though, and they didn't kick him our or yell at him or anything." At least he didn't think they did, because Ezra made it seem like the night had been a completely success.
Taking a step forward, Kyroh didn't really know what to expect, but a few of the elves looked over at them. "Uhhh- we don't want to bug you or anything Mr and Miss elves. We just want to make a cake." Yeah? Kyroh didn't wait for an answer, because if they said no that would suck. Instead he made his way over to the side of the kitchen farthest away from the busy elves and hoped Maddie would follow.
"We need ingredients! And bowls and stuff. Do you know anything about baking?" He'd let her do the easier stuff since it was her birthday and everything. No one was suppose to do work on their birthdays.

He didn't KNOW?! Maddie's eyes widened a bit but she did her best not to look TOO worried about it. If they got kicked out, at least they'd know for the future. And the fact that his friend had ALREADY been here and hadn't gotten the boot was a GOOD sign. UH-HUH.
While Kyroh was speaking to the house elves, Maddie peeked over his shoulder at them and smiled a little. They were really cool looking and had BIG eyes and the small brunette wondered if the size of their eyes meant they could SEE better or something. She was about to whisper to her housemate about it when he moved away from her. OH, they were baking now? OKAY.
Maddie wandered over to where the boy was and nodded her head seriously. Couldn't bake a cake without ingredients and stuff. "My mum goes to the bakery MOSTLY but I KNOW that sugar is involved." So knowledgeable, she was. "AND I'm guess we'll need chocolate cause CHOCOLATE cake." BEAM!

The bakery was pretty cool. They always had LOTS of stuff. But making your own meant getting to eat it hot. "Oh yeah lots of sugar." GOOD Job! Kyroh raised his hand to give her a high five and everything. Because she was right, and high fives were awesome. "I've never used real chocolate though. Just cocoa powder." Hot cocoa sounded really good right about now too, but the boy had to shake the thought out of his head. Chocolate cake was so much better so that was where the focus needed to be! "Usually my mum and I use a recipe... but we don't have one here. I think I can remember though!" It wouldn't be that difficult.
Looking around Kyroh peering under one of the tables for any bowls that might work. "You know baking is kind of like potions class! Except we don't have to use blood." Kyroh's nose wrinkled. Yeah baking seemed a bit better even if things did not turn a cool colour.
Giving up on his search, Kyroh began tapping his finger to his chin thinking for a moment. "So, how about I get all the food ingredients and stuff, and you get more bowls and spoons?" Yeah? It seemed like a good idea to him.

Don't get her wrong, this wouldn't become a thriving business for her considering she had better things to do than hold every new kid's hand and molly coddle them til mid-term but this right here was funny and she gave a firm nod to his exclamation of the barrels.
"Yup, they guard the entrance. I always thought it was quite fitting for them." You know, barrels usually being used to store food and them being...well...Puffers and all.
"The vinegar's what you get doused with if you aren't a Hufflepuff but you try getting in. Last I heard, no one's broken in their in over 100 years but that can't be true because I've been in their a couple times." And lookit her with her fancy scarlet and gold robes then again, she wasn't breaking in. "But I never told you that. We aren't meant to be visiting each other's Common Rooms, got it?" Where were the Professors to see her try her hand at this responsible Prefect thing? Eh, it was just as well. The responsibility would die in another minute or two, just watch.
His caution as he entered didn't go unnoticed. He had nothing to worry about though. If she wanted to lead him to his doom it'd have been MUCH better orchestrated and she wouldn't show her face, in case he lived to tell someone.
Once inside, she waited for him to internalize where he now was. It seemed he'd gotten it with his question...then again when he yelled it at her. His excitement made it hard for her grin to die. "It is brilliant! No waiting on 'meal times' to grab a bite to eat. I come down here for late night snacks sometimes--but I didn't tell you that either." Because responsible Prefects did not only enforce curfew, the abided by it...or some hogwash of the sort, really she hadn't been paying attention.
The barrels really were interesting. Just a bit. The boy was all too used to the stretch of stone wall that was the entrance to the Slytherin common room. But the barrels were right there. "What? Because they're badgers? Or because of the food?" And how does one climb through a barrel? Sounded like hard work.
LOL. What?! "You serious?" he asked, right before letting out a chuckle. "Oh MAN. Some foolish kid's going to try and get in and get vinegar poured on them and everyone will know what they tried to do." He was practically wetting himself just thinking about it. Could he be there the next time someone got doused in vinegar? And even better was that Lex had BEEN there! "Yeah? What's it like on the inside?" Not that he didn't believe her, but more because he was curious. "Your secret's safe with me." Smirk.
No. Really. It was. Mainly because he didn't want to lose her trust. And it made him feel slightly more powerful to know that he had something he could use against her.
No waiting for meal times? "Brilliant," he said, his eyes wide as he took in as much as he could of his surroundings. "I could soooooo get used to this. Uh huh." So well. And the smirk was back when Lex went on to say that she came down here for late night snacks. "Perks of being a Prefect, I bet." That would be his one and only reason to wanting to be a Prefect. Other than that, some poor old sucker can deal with all that responsibility. It certainly wasn't going to be him, thank you very much.
Swooping and zooming around the castle Peeves was finding himself bored. He had been quiet for awhile and that was about to change. A bored Peeves wasn't a happy Peeves. Spotting some firsties heading into the kitchen he cackled and followed behind. Zipping quickly and quietly behind them he waited for just the right moment.
"ICKLE FIRSTIES TRYING TO BAKE!! YOU FORGOT SOMETHING, BUT DON'T WORRY PEEVES WILL HELP."
With and open bag of flour he flew around the kitchen letting the flour fall to the ground over the students as he sang,
"Flour for your cake, flour for your fun, flour for your bum"
Cackling he continued to let the flour fall around the kitchen.

Leah always thought that the kitchens were out of bounds to students. When she heard that other people were going into the kitchens to get food, she was practically fuming with anger. This evening, the second year headed to the kitchens to explore.. and EAT.
Well, it looked like the great hall. No surprise. Were they allowed to just snatch some snack and leave? Leah walked past some chatting students and grabbed a small piece of cake. Mmm, niiiice. She hoped she had brought Filomena out with her, there were food she would have liked. The girl leaned back against the table and took another bite.
Jun was hungry.
Like really hungry. Practices usually left him with a big appetite afterwards. Thankfully, the kitchen was open to all and he would grab maybe fruit to eat. Definitely not a meal, the boy never ate heavy afterwards. Still in his dance clothes, consisting of sweats, a t-shirt, and sneakers; Jun headed down to the kitchens. His legs were still a bit wobbly so he took slow steps. Finally reaching the kitchens, Jun walked in and saw he wasn't the only one thinking the same thing. Ignoring them all, he took a few oranges and sat up on the counter and started to peel them.
But then he noticed a certain little Hufflepuff eating cake.
"Is it good cake?" he called out to Leah, with a small nod.
But oh look who it was. PEEVES. And he was covering the entire kitchen in flour. "OI! Can't you go throw flour at professors instead? Pretty sure they'll appreciate it!" Jun did NOT need his hai white again. Not after last term. He wouldn't even try to get the flour out of his hair. More would just keep coming.

Oh no. Those expeessions, the hair ruffling. Then the clever thinking to go to the library. Pal raised her eyebrow and nodded. "Does it have to be today? Because library trip isn't planned til tomorrow.." for homework research reasons, of course.
“Well…” Louis looked off into space with mock thoughtfulness, tapping his chin with his index finger and ignoring the odd tilt of his chef’s hat, which sat lopsided on his dark hair. “You, obviously. Bay - definitely, he loves sweets. The Mrs, of course. Pretty much everyone.” He turned his gaze upon Paloma then. “Will we have enough?”
“Certainly not today, tomorrow will do,” Lou assured her with a smile. As much as he wanted to know all the secrets to speeding the cooking time of their amazing new candy, he wasn’t all that thrilled to spend the rest of the day in the library either. Mmm hmmm. Chocolate.
Her mother would not have approved of her sneaking into the kitchens to eat chocolate cake, Leah thought, as she took another bite. Then someone called out to her from the fruits area and she jumped, though she knew somewhere in her brain that it could not possibly be her mother. Phew. It was the Ravenclaw boy she had met during the summer - Jun. Her mouth still containing the chocolate cake, Leah nodded, saying in a muffled voice, "Very. It's chocolate." As if that explained everything, and gestured at him to come and try some. She was quite sure that this cake was better than the orange.
The second year was startled once again by the sudden appearance of PEEVES. He was usually quite funny, if she was watching him causing trouble from the outside. But this time she was one of the victims. Flour in her hair! Screaming, Leah ran towards the only person she knew - Jun. Shaking her head like a wet dog, the girl giggled at the 'throwing flour at professors' statement. However, she clenched her tiny fist angrily.
Who dares to mess up Leah's hair?

Maddie didn't NORMALLY do high fives so she looked a bit confused for a minute before bringing her hand up to slap his. She figured if Freckles was making her CHOCOLATE CAKE, he deserved one. PLUS he knew more about baking than she did so this was like a lessson. She wanted to pass with flying colors. MHM. "I bet it'll taste good no matter WHAT as long as the ingredients are good tasting ones." They just had to be careful not to add TOO much salt and stuff, right? Salty cake would be GROSS.
"I really like potions. Plus that Culloden guy is REALLY fun to observe. I might go talk to him someday." Like OUT of class.
Bowls and spoons? "I can do that, yeah." Maddie smiled a little at Freckles and then turned around to search for bowls when... ... ...

O______________O
"For our bums?" WAS THAT PEEVES? She'd READ about HIM. And BECAUSE she'd never encountered him before, she was both FASCINATED and ANNOYED because he was using ALL the flour. She couldn't be sure but she figured they'd need at least SOME for cake. "Quick, a bowl! He's wasting it all!"
Maddie ignored that she was covered in the stuff and darted through the flour storm to get a big bowl. When she'd found one, she hurried back and held it under the raining flour, hoping to catch enough for the cake. Resourceful, she was.
Her mother would not have approved of her sneaking into the kitchens to eat chocolate cake, Leah thought, as she took another bite. Eh, chocolate.
Jun liked it, maybe not as much as other people, but still didn't refuse the offer to join Leah in her share of the cake. Hopping down from the counter with his oranges, Jun made his way towards Leah. But of course Peeves just had to continue with the flour. He dropped an orange when Leah ran towards him. No big deal. As Leah shook her head clean, he reached down for the orange. Yeah, they needed to get out of here. And soon. Standing straight up again, Jun shook his hair and and grabbed the girl's hand. "How about we go elsewhere? Grab your cake and let's head out,"
Because Peeves wasn't going to leave them alone anytime soon.

Why did she keep forgetting that Grayson was new? He wouldn't have gotten that reference...pity. "It's because it's food and they're badgers. It's....kinda like an association thing, Puffers and food. Don't worry about it too much." But yeah, kitchen, badgers, SO fitting.
Lex dropped Felix to the floor so he could go make himself comfortable on his favourite counter while she headed for the fridge. That was the first stop right there. Loads of things to snack on in there. Her hazel eyes fell on Grayson the moment she heard the amusement in his question. His sense of humour was proving to be similar to her own. Seeing a kid doused in vinegar would be hilarious. She nodded at the part about the Common Room. "Yeah, one of my bestfriends is a Hufflepuff, she lets me. It's very...yellow in there. Legit, everything's yellow." Which explained why Lottie hated it in there so much. "Real cozy in there too but I reckon everyone thinks their Common Room is because they're meant to be." So no real distinction in the end she supposed.
And it was nice to know he could keep his mouth shut about things that happened around the castle. He would learn quickly that that sort of thing determined how much you enjoyed your stay here. Grayon was proving to be a good egg.
Ah and he thought not waiting for meals was brilliant. Was it any wonder they got got along seemingly well? He could value food and she could appreciate that. "There are loads of perks to being a prefect, sneaking out after curfew is one of them but anyone can do that if they know what they're doing."
Alexa laid out everything she'd gotten from the fridge onto the counter next to the one Felix was occupying before turning to Grayson. "How good at you at sandwich making?"

Everyone was entitled to their opinions, even when it came to cookies, and she had to admit that the ones they currently were enjoying weren’t bad. They definitely qualified in her top five of cookies, at least. Most of the food that the house elves had made generally turned out pretty appetizing, so there was no reason to think otherwise. “That’s a good way of looking at things. Some people like food that we might think is completely weird, but if that’s what they like. We shouldn’t judge,” she replied, breaking off another piece of her cookie and popping it into her mouth. These were just normal cookies, though. There was nothing weird about them at all.
She’d been tempted to offer a penny for the Hufflepuff’s thoughts, as the girl had seemed a bit distracted for a moment or two. But then, maybe it wasn’t anything that she needed to know. Lux didn’t look upset or anything, so the thoughts couldn’t have been bad. Plus, there was the little moment of amusement that had broken the silence, and she had trouble ceasing her giggle at the sight of the younger redhead sitting there with her cookie frozen halfway into her milk.
It was an amusing sight, but then the dunk was completed and she finally managed to stop giggling by lifting her teacup to her lips. She didn’t want to choke on her tea, after all, and it gave her a second to listen as her friend had spoken again. “Unless it was like cookie flavored tea. Or chocolate tea,” she offered, setting her cup back down as she’d spoken. There was flavored coffee, so she didn’t see why there couldn’t be cookie flavored tea. Especially in the Wizarding world. “It’s easier to just stick with milk and cookies though,” she finally agreed. Cookies were fine just as an accompaniment to tea, and she could survive without dunking them right now.
She hadn’t expected Lux to have heard much about the trip to Peru, either. It wasn’t exactly surprising, however, and the comment wasn’t wrong. “It was definitely an adventure. I’m sure you would have survived it. Everybody sort of helped each other,” she replied. Except for during the time they were all fleeing the trolls, but she’d forgiven Huxley for pushing past her. Nobody had gotten squished by the rocks and trees, after all. Or bitten by any zombies, although she wondered what had become of the arm that Professor Flamsteed had detached from the one. They’d stopped talking about the trip and being brave, though, and she hadn’t been able to stop the smile from appearing on her face at the next topic. “You have?,” she asked. “Maybe I should try and get him to properly meet you. I’ve been trying to get him more comfortable to talking to people, anyway.” After that mess during the Valentine’s Day event last term, with West.
Nod.
Lux was happy to see that Lily was on the same page as her. "I learned that, because last term I tried to get Bay to eat a cucumber sandwich, and he threw it up." Since then, she had taken people's different tastes in food more seriously and she hadn't tried to get him to eat cucumbers again. Smiling, she ate some more of her cookie because it was just too delicious for her to stop eating.
Cookie or chocolate flavoured tea? Now that was something that Lux could get behind. As long as there weren't bits of cookie or chocolate floating in her drink, she was all for it. "If they don't have that, maybe we could invent it." The only problem was she didn't know how exactly to DO that; it didn't matter though, as surely that was something they could figure out. "I'm all for sticking to my milk and cookies for the moment," she agreed with a nod. It was something that she could never get tired of, especially when it came to a late night snack.
"I suppose I might have, but I am not very brave." Small shrug. It was okay. Maybe she could work on that some more. At only 13, Lux had a lot of time to grow more as a person. "I would love to talk to him more. Is he shy? Or does he not like crowds?" Maybe Austin got uncomfortable easily?
Lou was one of those people who needed a generous amount of outdoors time on a daily basis, and so far today, he’d gotten none.
Pal bowed her head and giggled as Lou mentioned many of his friends with whom the candies will be distributed to. "Well, these proportions only turn out to be up to forty people, but if we distribute well, they could last for twenty more..." She wasn't completely sure, since her mom had only taught her how to do it only once. "I guess the result of all this would tell..." She whispered.
The moment Lou assured her that they wouldn't take a trip to the Library, the girl sighed in relief. She loved the book gathering, but for her...plans and schedule meant many things. And that afternoon, Paloma had the time off right to actually have the cooking kind of fun. She just really hoped that Louis didn't have to take care of his Prefect duties that day, too.
Almost two hours of watching the spoon stirr the milk and sugar went fast, as Paloma carefully instructed that he needed to ask just a tiny 'pizca' or finger pick of baking soda to the mix, so he'd later observe as the milk thickened even more and started to look like a yellow toothpaste. Throughout the time, she also added a bit of cinnamon and turned all the nuts into tiny bits to add them later once the whole batter was finished cooking.
"The good thing that this spoon kept stirring is that the milk didn't go up and blown up, which sometimes happens if you don't keep the right pace..." And patience to do the process, like in the Muggle world they'd handle those situations. "Now, turn off the fire, we'll let it cool for two minutes...then we'll began the magic..." Not that they didn't have it all around. But she hoped Lou knew what she meant.

Kyroh giggled at the thought of putting a bunch of bad tasting things in a cake. "Aw man does that mean we can't add chilli powder and 17 cut lemons?" Drat.
"I don't know how I feel about it yet." That was true. Kyroh liked the idea of potions. Mixing stuff to get something out of the ordinary. It was precise too. you had to really pay attention and that took skill. But if they were always going to be using dragon parts, there was no way he'd end up liking it. "I don't really observe people....do you do that a lot?" Was that something that she did? Observe people? Was he suppose to do it too? Like a social convention? "But I think you should talk to him. He's seems a bit scary but at the same time he didn't eat me when I gave him a hug." SO Culloden was alright in Kyrohs books. For now at least.
Giving Boddie a thumbs up Kyroh turned to make his way over to the large fridge on the other side when a LOUD voice erupted.
Peeves? PEEVES! LOOK! LOOK! IT WAS PEEVES! IT WAS A POLTERGEIST! IT WAS PEEVES! Kyroh was actually excited until it seemed like a large cloud of the white stuff started to fall from the sky. FLOUR. And It was FLOUR! Everywhere. On his hair, up his lungs, even blocking his vision for a second."I DON'T WANT FLOUR FOR MY BUM!" That would NOT be pleasant!
"All of it?" The boy asked, in slight horror. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE CAKE!?!? Swipping at the flour, out of his eyes, Kyroh ran over finding a bowl per Boddies instructions and placed it out in front of him hopping to catch some of the flour. He even ran around a bit trying to figure out where the flour was falling most. "Peeves be nice!!" Kyroh called out, letting one hand off the bowl to shake his fist at the poltergeist.
You LISTEN, you!

Well that wasn’t exactly the response she’d expected, and Lily masked the reaction by lifting her teacup to her lips yet again. That was a good way to act like the topic of someone throwing up didn’t bother her, anyway. Plus, she was going to have to finish her tea before she headed back to her common room, so it worked both ways. “Those are also good during tea parties,” she commented after a moment. Cucumber sandwiches, that was. Not throwing up. Throwing up was never good, but then that was why it was important to know what people could eat. Not everyone could handle certain foods, although she’d seen that more with things like spicy foods rather than something so random as cucumbers.
She hadn’t found anyone who didn’t like cookies yet, however. Lux certainly did. She was almost expecting the younger girl to go for a second cookie, especially seeing as she was eating them faster than she was. It wasn’t really a big deal. The redhead had offered to share the cookies with her, not the other way around, so she could eat as many as she wanted. “Maybe we could,” she agreed, even though she had no idea of how to go about really creating her own tea flavor. “Maybe Professor Bentley would know if it was possible. Tea’s a plant after all.” It seemed logical to her, but either way, it wasn’t happening tonight. Tonight was limited to what they already had, her tea and Lux’s milk and cookies.
The conversation definitely wasn’t over, though. “I think it was more a matter of being determined, although it didn’t hurt if we were brave,” she thought aloud. None of them had really been completely brave when the zombies had attacked. They’d fled. Professor Romanos had taken out emergency portkeys and they’d all used them. “Maybe you’ll be braver when you get old enough to go on a trip like that, if they keep having them.” At least Lux might have more confidence in herself by then. Which she felt was something that was important in getting Austin more comfortable with people, too. “I don’t know that it’s either. But it’s sort of something that isn’t mine to explain,” she admitted. First she needed to figure out how they could meet.

He was cackling harder and harder as flour filled the room. Soon all was white. Hearing the protest he did a few loops and then hovered a bit.
"DON'T YOU LIKE MY MASTER PIECE?" How could they not like it.
The an idea popped in his head and he headed and he cackled again before making a nose dive towards the ickle firstie girl (Maddie) dropping the bag of empty flour towards her head.
Zipping into the fridge and right back out he turned cackling, "PEEVES WILL GET THE PROFESSORS DON'T YOU WORRY." Then he tossed and egg in the direction of(Jun) the boy who spoke.
Tossing the other eggs around the kitchen he cackled, "BEST BE LEAVING YOU ARE ALL CRACKING UP."
He flew out of the kitchen with his cackles echoing the corridor.

Freckles was SORT of funny and Maddie smiled a little, shaking her head at him. She knew he was kidding but if he ever DID give her cake made with THOSE ingredients, she'd have to get revenge. UH-HUH. And since revenge was a dish best served cold or something, maybe she'd give him yucky ice cream!
"I like to try and see if I can figure people out." So yeah, she DID observe people. Like she'd observed HIM at the feast. She wasn't going to TELL him that, though. She kept her observations to herself...mostly. "He'd be a cannibal if he ATE you. Imagine they hired cannibals here?!" Maddie's eyes widened at the thought but she WAS happy that Kyroh wasn't Culloden food.
...
THIS was NOT how Maddison had planned on spending her birthday. The eleven TWELVE year old's bowl was nearly full and she could BARELY see by this point. It was ALL flour. Everything. THE WHOLE KITCHEN! CHAOS! DESTRUCTION! BAKING GONE WRONG! Ahem.
The small brunette SCOWLED at Peeves and was ABOUT to tell him about what she thought of his "MASTERPIECE" but then she was blind. SHE WAS BLIND! The first year squeaked and dropped the bowl she'd been holding to the floor, using her now free hands to touch her face. How could she be bl-
Oh.
NOW she felt dumb. Maddie pushed the empty flour bag off her head and SNEEZED flour. Then the first year turned towards the others. OTHERS because apparently her and Freckles weren't the only ones caught in the destruction.
"Is this how birthday baking NORMALLY happens?" Hm?

Okay, so maybe the mention of someone throwing up wasn't the best thing when eating cookies, but Lux had wanted to explain why she had come to that conclusion. Fortunately, Lily did not seem to be incredibly bothered by it, and at the very least was tactful in the way that she had covered up any potential awkwardness she felt. "Yes, that is very true. But I love them in general. They are my favourite sandwiches." Maybe a lot of people wouldn't share her love them, but she did not care. Grabbing a third cookie, Lux was surprised that she hadn't thought of going to Professor Bentley about the tea thing. Of course. Duh. "That's a very good idea. She is so nice, so I am sure that she would be glad to help us with whatever she knows about tea." Herbology was a fun subject, but Lux really did not know how she felt about those dangerous plants. They still freaked her out a lot. But something like tea was perfectly safe, as she was sure that there were no fanged tea plants anywhere.
And once again Lily was showing how wise she was; clearly this girl was a Ravenclaw for a very good reason. "I suppose that is true. I can be pretty determined when I want to be." Lux was not a quitter, and she was a competitive person. Determination was a part of her nature. The only time where it really failed her was with the whole flying thing, and when she had been uncertain about her spell work last term. "I really hope that they keep doing these field trips. But if they don't, I am sure that I can go travelling with other people." It could be a lot of fun, and she loved doing outdoor things like camping. Camping trips were awesome. "Oh, well that is fair enough. Hopefully I can get to know him better soon." But if Austin wasn't really the social type, that was fine and she wouldn't push anything.

Lex was teaching him a lot. And not the boring stuff about blah blah keep out of trouble blah blah. No, this was IMPORTANT stuff, like how to get into the kitchen and what the Huggers and Finders are associated with. "Is that why their common room's so close to the kitchen? Because they're big food lovers?" See? Important to know.
Grayson didn't even notice that the kneazle had been dropped to the floor because he was still amused at the idea of someone being doused in vinegar. It was just FUNNY, okay? He was still listening to the Gryffindor Prefect, though. The story about being let in wasn't as epic as the idea of breaking in but whatever. She had still gotten the chance to have a peek inside. "No wonder most of them seem so happy and nice. Their common room must be really bright." YELLOW. Jeez, how did it not damage their eyesight? "Uh huh. 'Specially one you get used to it, I bet. Our one's very leathery and watery." Because she needed to know that.
Good eggs were precious and should be kept safe and not be made into omelettes, mkay?
Really, Grayson thought that being a Prefect was long and boring and definitely not something he wanted to do. But late night strolls? He tapped his chin thoughtfully before saying, "And if they don't give themselves away and get caught." Plus you had to come up with a good excuse for being out of bed after curfew too. Anyone who mumbled and stumbled to come up with an excuse was weak. "What are the other perks?"
Tucking his hands into his pockets, the Slytherin headed over towards the counter and eyed the food she had laid out. Sandwiches. "I make a mean ham and cheese sandwich," he started, looking over at her with a small smirk playing across his face, "I'm the only one who tastes them and I think they're pretty great." Why was she asking?
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite

Know something? Grayson asked a lot of questions. It wasn't to say she minded, more like it was...refreshing. She'd seen so many transfers who didn't want to know anything about Hogwarts even though it was meant to be their new home. Grouchy, that's what some of them were. Grayson wasn't grouchy, he was...interesting. "I dunno for sure if that's it but I heard their founder, Helga Hufflepuff, used to make food for them all the time down in the kitchen so I guess that explains that." Common Room by the kitchen and a lady willing to make food, if she wasn't such a hard and fast Gryffindor it might have been tempting.
Hahaha he found them to be a happy bunch too! "Can't argue with that. The lot of them are happier than I care to know how. And you're right, it's all kinds of bright in there what with the colouring and all." The Hufflepuff Common Room was really something. "I've been inside the Snake Common Room too, thanks to Cassia--she's one of my bestfriends." Sometimes she even slept down there...but he didn't need to know that.
Ah, and lookit him having the right idea. "Yup. Getting caught is the last thing you wanna do. I don't suppose you've gotten a look inside the detention dungeons yet?" Not to say they were a deterant. They did little to scare Lex, it was the loss of freedom that bothered her. Detentions were a waste of a good evening. She paused, stroking Felix's fur idly as she thought over his question. Other perks? "Hmmmm...we've got our own bathroom, it's much nicer in there than the others, we get to tell everyone else what to do while skirting the rules if we're good enough too. But the perks aren't that great when you consider you get lectured and punished harder than anyone else and no one invites you to anything because they think you'll rat them out--unless you've got a reputation like mine where people know better than to think I would." Then it wasn't so bad and Professor didn't lecture that bad because it was already expected...
Her face lit up at his confession of making good ham and cheesers. "Brilliant." She said with a grin, stepping aside so he could have better access to the ingredients she'd laid out. "You won't mind making me one, yeah?" For his favourite Prefect who showed him the magic kitchen. Ahem.

Midnight snack. Gonna get a midnight snack. So hungry for a midnight snack.
Okay well no not really a midnight snack. More like a night snack. Technically a late evening snack? Whatever, just a snack. Zander wanted A snack. No need to tag on technicalities. Mhhhhmmmm it smelled so good. It always smelled so amazing in the kitchens. The Hogwarts house elves were definitely the best in all the wizarding world. They always made the yummiest treats and the best cookies. AND--
Oooh Cookies. Where could he get some of those?

It was a little late for food, but Vinnie didnt care. She wanted pancakes. Oh yes pancakes. It was a pitty neither Jun nor Louis were in her house, or she would have sneaked into the boys dorms to wake them up. Char would never wake up for pancakes. Only for lollipops. So the Slytherin had decided to go to the kitchens alone. The houseelves could keep her some company.
She was pretty sure she would be the only one in the kitchens this late...did houseevles sleep? Would she be disturbing them? Oh well...The brunette opened the door do the kitchen stepped in and...saw a boy raiding the kitchen...for what exactly?!
Grabbing an apple nearby the girl approached him. „ What are you looking for?“, she asked smiling at him. Gotta help out a fellow night, snacker.

No blame was being cast as to why the conversation had gotten a bit awkward for a moment. Lily had no reason to think that there hadn’t been a good reason for the story about Bay throwing up being told, and it seemed like her attempt at hiding her initial reaction had worked. Lux hadn’t asked about anything, anyhow, and therefore it was simple to just let that whole topic get pushed behind them. Besides, it wasn’t like either of them had thrown up right then. That would have definitely caused awkwardness. “Okay then,” she replied with a smile, when the Hufflepuff had begun speaking again. “I’ll try to remember that. I’m not sure I have a favorite sandwich, so you know more there.” She’d honestly not thought much about sandwiches in general to decide if she had a favorite. They weren’t like other types of food, as far as she was concerned.
She’d meant it when she’d brought them up in relation to tea parties, though. Maybe it would be fun to have a tea party sometime before she left school, or even next summer when she wasn’t planning on forgetting her friends who hadn’t graduated with her. They could even invite Professor Bentley, if they asked her about how to cultivate a cookie tea. “I’m sure she would,” she agreed. If she’d known enough about tea herself she would have tried figuring it out on her own. Herbology wasn’t one of her worst subjects, after all, but it was better to ask an expert. She didn’t think they’d be encountering anything dangerous if they only asked about tea, although with the professor anything was possible. Either way, it was a plan, if only the two of them remembered having the idea later on in order to actually ask.
She had smiled again as Lux had given in to her logic regarding what had happened on the trip. “Well, anyway, determination was definitely useful when we’d all gotten caught in the mudslide,” she thought aloud, not even thinking that the younger girl may not have heard about all that had happened. “That’s good though. That you’re determined.” She remembered the girl telling her about her fear of flying and trying to get past it, anyhow, which was something she herself still struggled with. “Sure. I mean, I’d take you if I knew I was going anywhere,” she added. After graduation, of course, but as far as she knew she was staying in England. She hadn’t really thought about her plans yet, and at least some of that would depend on what Austin was doing. The possible traveling, at least, and Lux hadn’t argued her avoidance in explaining why he didn’t talk to people often either. Another plus. “Hopefully. Honestly, I haven’t talked to him that much since we got back to Hogwarts either.” She’d talked to him enough to know he was okay, and she’d find him later, too.

Awkwardness forgotten, Lux was happy that they had moved on to the next part of their conversation. "I'm not sure what my favourite food period is, because I love to eat so many different things." Why the kitchen could be called her second home. the house elves were definitely used to seeing her by now with the number of times she stopped by for food. "Turkey sandwiches are really nice too," she added as she remembered having some really nice ones here.
This conversation was really making her want to eat sandwiches, so it was good that there was a cookie tea conversation to distract her from it.
"Professor Bentley is so nice." Lux wondered if she should tell the woman that she was an Honorary Lion and Gryffinpuff. Maybe she could have both Professor Hadley AND Professor Bentley as Head of House; of course the ladder being more in name than anything else.
Nod. She had heard a little about the mudslide as well as other happenings on the trip. Of course she would grasp things better if she had gone herself, but it was fine by her that she hadn't. As much as she wished she was old enough to have participated, Lily was right that there might be other opportunities in the future. "I hope that if I get to go on a school trip, I'll have an adventure without the risk of dying." Lux loved having fun, but she didn't want to die. "And I would love to go somewhere with you. We could have a nice trip with loads of people!" That could be so much fun, even if all the did was something small.
Lily hadn't seen her boyfriend much since term started? Honestly, Lux was a little surprised at that. Of course she didn't spend all her time with Bay, but they still saw each other a lot either in classes or hanging out together around the school. "So you guys aren't in the same House I take it." Unless they were and just missed seeing each other around in the Common Room?

"Oh they do." Kyroh replied matter-of-factly. "The grounds keeper told Dima and I that he ate kids, right before we got on the boats." You had been a slowpoke so sorry Boddie but you didn't get to hear.
Peeves was not listening. Or being nice. Which wasn't surprising, but Kyroh continued to shake his fist at him. And Maddie was now running around with a bag on her head.....alright then.
Or it would have been alright, if she hadn't completely dropped her bowl.
NOW THEY ONLY HAD HIS.
As the fall of flour started to lighten up, Kyroh turned and tried to run to the table so he could put down the almost full bowl of flour. It was the ONLY flour they had left. He was almost there when his foot landed on a floury area and gave way from underneath him.
Manging to hold onto the bowl, Kyroh fell, smack onto his bum and another cloud of flour, this time from the bowl rose up into the air.
Flour for his bum indeed.
"I don't think Peeves is invited to normal birthdays." No way. "Let's not invite him to your next one." Putting the bowl down beside him Kyroh stood up, and then moved it over to the table. His bottom half, now completely covered in flour as well. Looking around the kitchen he could already tell it wasn't good. From the flour to the eggs that Peeves had thrown, first on the Slytherin guy but then the other ones as well....it was....a mess...the kitchen. Kyroh frowned, his normal happy state completely gone. "Poor houseelves." Because they would have to clean all of this up.
Peeves you made UGLY masterpieces!
