Professor Bellaire has once again brought the wonders of the tropics to the heart of Scotland itself. Older students will remember the warmth, sand and of course the tropical fauna of the replica of Sophia's home land. There is a hut that automatically restocks itself with coconut water as well as regular water.
Hammocks are present along the beach under low hanging coconut tree but do not try to cross the barrier that keeps students from going into the actual 'sea' itself (you will be struck by a stinging hex).
Further additions to the Irie room includes three mini outdoor libraries, but don't let their looks fool you, they are adequately stacked.
The sections include: Reference History Fiction
The library sections are located off the sand on what appears to be the edge of a lush and cool tropical forest. The difference in temperature is immediate once you leave the sands of the beach.
Professor Bellaire wishes to emphasize that this is room is not to be abused and certain decorum is expected. Failure to adhere to these rules will result in certain punishment and a permanent ban from the room.
Please note that while the library is fully functional certain books can only be accessed by using the official Hogwarts library.

That’s when he saw his fellow Snakes starting to shiver.
Oh man. Oh man. What to do?! He can’t just leave his fellow Snakes, yeah? Half dressed, he grabbed his outer snowboarding jacket, and ran towards West. “Hey. Can you duplicate this? This should keep the other Snakes warm.” Seeing that they didn’t bring their own winter clothes. This made him wonder as to how they got in the Irie Room in the first place. But anyway. That doesn’t matter now, does it?
While he waited for the older Snake, Ethan got his wand and tried his best to keep the others warm with the Hot Air Charm. “Ventus!”
Seeing that Sophie was getting her clothes at least, West looked to Ethan and nodded.
"Yeah I can do that." He took it and started making duplicates, shivering all the while. Of course, he had to enlarge one for himself after duplicating it since there was no chance it'd have fit him otherwise given his height, but it definitely helped. Here was hoping his duplication spells held up yeah? But it was one he was pretty good at by now.
"You wanna hand some of them out? See if Bellaire needs one too yeah?" His teeth were chattering, but having an extra layer was definitely helping. West paused in the duplication efforts to wrap his insulated towel around his waist. Extra was good. "Snakes first, then the little kids, then the rest." He added quietly to the younger boy.

Adi had NO clothes other than these swim trunks. He tried not to panic as the thought of freezing to death flashed in his mind. But then someone- West Adi thought it was- to wrap themselves in blankets and to insulate it.
Hurriedly, the third year did that as Bellaire told them to keep calm while she did her thing. Well, now that he was feeling a teeny tiny bit warm, he had not problem keeping himself calm.
Did Bellaire need help though? As Adi watched the activity around him, he thought he saw a snowflake. Maybe. Could be a speck of something else.

It was SO cold.
Teeth chattering, Lux tried to stay warm, which was kind of impossible when all she had on was a bathing suit and a towel. Thank goodness for West calling out for them to insulate themselves and use warming charms. In her current state of mind she never would have thought of that herself.
Quickly she did that, enjoying the slight heat it provided. This was no permanent solution and it was hard to keep calm, but she had to try while Bellaire worked on fixing the problem.
Was that a snowflake that just landed on her nose?
"Can we not have a moment for Pete's sake?!" Or was it peace sake?
She was not one for muggle talk. Professor Bellaire grumbled loudly as she readied her wand. One day was all she wanted...one day of warmth. She wasn't 20 anymore and her bones did not like all this cold. She was not amused...no..not one bit.
"Alright everyone, keep calm and let me try to fix this." Ugh..She was sure some numb nut or the other left the door open and let the cold in and with all the bloody students in here, there was no way her enchantment would hold.
"Just wrap yourselves up and let me try to banish those clouds." A few complicated swirls and jabs, had the clouds disappearing.
Once fully clothed, Cutty lifted his wand to attempt a drying spell, still thinking that it was some sort of pop!quiz given out on behalf of the Professor Bellaire. But then he saw her trying her best to battle the stormy weather herself and it became apparent that this was not her doing.
The windchill factor came to play and then he spotted it. The little snowflake that took up residence upon the cute little Hufflepuff's nose. For a moment there it looked like Cutty was so focused on the snowflake that he might have casted Lux's nose right off and thrown the baby out with the bathwater. It reminded him of the blizzard from their first Transfiguration class and that brought with it a host of other memories.
Slowly. Carefully. Cutty slithered his way inch by inch out of the Irie room and saved his own backside.

Ethan watched as West did his thing, and duplicated his jacket. He blinked…and blinked as he witnessed his own clothing multiply. Merlin, that spell sure is handy. The boy wondered if West would be so kind to teach him that. Not now of course, seeing that they are in a crisis.
“Gotcha.” Ethan got the pile of jackets and handed out half of it to Snake!Sophie’s twin. “Can you help me distribute this to the others? Thanks.” Without waiting for Caleb’s reply, he dumped the jackets onto his arms and moved along. Did West see that? Distraction. Now onto the second snake…Grayson. Hallo GrayGray. Time to make your move. Seeing that the boy already had his jacket on, Ethan gave him one, and whispered to his buddy’s ear. “Give that to Sophie. Now’s your chance.” It should be in his nature to grab the opportunity when it comes, yeah? And he's giving him exactly that. See Aparecium? He's NOT ruining relationships. Ah that piece of...
MOVING ON.
After Grayson, Ethan turned and gave Sophie Brown a jacket. “Here. Put it on. Quickly.” She may not be a Snake, but Sophie’s an important person, yeah? Professor Culloden wasn’t in the room to look after her, and it seems that Toby didn’t make it to the party either, so the blond boy took the responsibility and made sure that she will not freeze to death. Oh and Zander! His relationship with the Gryffindor may not be as tight as the one that he shares with Simon, but if he’s important to his best friend, then that could only mean that he should look after him too. That’s how brotherhood works, yeah?
Last, but definitely not the least was their Transfiguration professor, Bellaire. “Ma’am? Here’s a jacket for you.” he said as he offered the winter clothing to her. “Is there anything else we can do?” he asked as he zipped up his own jacket and started to jump up and down. Whyyyyy. Whyyyyy does it have to snow so soon?

There was MORE staring and a slight eyebrow raise as the girl stood there in her swimsuit. That's right: swimsuit. Grayson cleared his throat again and tried to remain his usual calm and cool composure. He didn't want her to know that there had been staring involved, even if he couldn't bring it upon himself to look away. Entirely her fault, obviously.
Jeez, this was going to be harder than he thought it would be.
He smirked a little when the third year came over. Of course she was hanging out with him? "Good to know I'll have even more good company." A different kind of company but still a really good one. "Looks like you got your way. And we didn't have to go all the way to Greece for it." Lucky, wasn't it? "You want anything to dri--"
.................... What in the name of Merlin?!
He had been cut off, interrupted, DISTURBED by a newcomer. First Peeves and now this guy, who was introducing himself as Sophie's brother Caleb. It was as if people didn't want him to hang out with Soph over here. The only thing going for this guy right now was the fact that he didn't have swamp water with him. "Grayson Whitlock. A Slytherin Hottie, by the sounds of it." Quiiiick glance and a hint of a smirk over at Sophie.

He was like some overprotective dad figure who just refused to let her date until she was thirty or something.
"Hey, Caleb," she casually said, but she gave him a certain LOOK when she caught on to how he had emphasized that word 'brother'. She paused, waiting for him to realize she was sort of in the middle of something, but it didn't look like Mr. Overprotective was getting the point.
Sophie looked over at Grayson to see how he was taking this, when she noticed the STARING and the slight eyebrow raise. OH MY MERLIN. She did an inner squeal of excitement over this but remained cool on the outside. Was he trying to not make things obvious? Because he was failing. She'd noticed that--ALL of that.
The conversation was continuing, and she was sure he was about to ask her if she wanted anything to drink, when he was stopped by Caleb. Thank you, BROTHER. Then the unexpected happened. Grayson just straight up introduced himself as the Slytherin Hottie, so Sophie decided to just roll with it. "This is Grayson, Caleb. Slytherin's new house hottie," she said. See what she did there? Miss Bold just declared that for anybody who was around to hear.
Then Marigold happened. She just straight up put her arm around Grayson, and all flirting just came to a standstill.
She needed a SIGN.
FLIRTING IS TRYING TO HAPPEN HERE, PEOPLE!
Caleb raised an eyebrow. Did he need to charm this kid's eyelids shut? He was NOT a fan of the staring. That was his SISTER! No one was allowed to stare at her like that! Caleb was tempted to transfigure that swimsuit into a parka to solve the problem, but just as the thought crossed his mind, Grayson introduced himself as the Slytherin HOTTIE.
Oh Merlin. He did NOT go there. Had he no sense of humility?! Sure, Caleb knew HE was awesome but he didn't go around telling people that! It didn't help that Sophie kept going along with that nonsense too. He was pretty sure he could see Grayson's head inflating in front of him...
Frowning and crossing his arms, he raised an eyebrow skeptically at him. "So I've heard. You a transfer?" he asked. Part of that was a simple get to know you question - the other part was Caleb trying to figure out if this kid had gotten kicked out of school anywhere or had committed some other treacherous act that would give Caleb another reason to NOT trust him.

GLARE.
That was what West got from Caleb as soon as the seventh year changed the song to try and make the situation worse. Come on man, give him a break! Caleb and West were former teammates, Grayson didn't even KNOW West. Odessa should be on HIS side!

But wait, the door to the irie room has started opening and closing with loud bangs.
BANG BANG BANG!
Suddenly, the third year snake had bigger problems to deal with besides his overly flirty sister and the potentially-an-ex-felon Grayson. The doors flew open, and in came the COLD. Caleb, thankfully, and been wearing a tank top with his swim trunks so he wasn't COMPLETELY exposed to the chilly air, but it still wasn't comfortable.
It was rare to get a burst of mental sarcasm from the former Slytherin captain, that was really more of a trademark of his Ravenclaw bandmates, but it was definitely good reason to make an exception right now. He stopped playing with a discordant final note hanging in the air and shuddered convulsively with the cold.
No, he hadn't brought a change of clothes. He didn't have his robes with him, or anything other than what he was wearing or his towel...
But his towel could be good.
West put his Ukulele aside and, still shuddering with the sudden temperature drop, cast an insulation charm on his towel, followed by a warming charm, and then he wrapped it around his shoulders. It helped some definitely, feeling a bit like a makeshift, not quite fully-heated electric blanket, but it wouldn't be enough to keep him all the way warm.... and he wasn't the only one without something to change into either. He stood up, less focused on finding a way out than making sure people were warm.
Like Sophie standing there. She'd come in street clothes right?
"Sophie Newell, p-put your clothes back on." He hollered at her, in exactly the same tone that he used to use on the pitch.
"Anyone who d-doesn't have c-lothes," Shudder, "Wrap yourselves in towels and insul-late them." He was mostly speaking to the Slytherins, at least initially, but he started looking to others after that statement too.
"D-does anyone n-need help with w-warming spells?"
He didn't bother asking if Bellaire needed help... she'd say so if she did. Better to leave her to it and do what he could to warm people up.
... including himself. Merlin.
"I SECOND THIS!" Caleb called over the chaos as he heard West yell at her to put clothes on. Not just to stop Grayson's leering eyes, but also to keep her from getting frostbite!
Because that was what brothers did. They looked out for their sisters. Even when they were being a pain and not being appreciative of said brother looking out for her and keeping her away from creepers.
He was seriously NOT appreciated anywhere he went. Le sigh. The struggles of Caleb Newell.

As the snow started to swirl around him, Caleb noticed Ethan - yeah, that was his name, right? Whatever, the OTHER Mordaunt - passing out coats. A second later, Caleb had his arms full as Ethan shoved a bunch of parkas into his arms.
He dropped the bundle of clothes and then grabbed one off the top of the pile, getting himself bundled up first. Once he was warm, he could get others warm.
But NOT Grayson. Grayson did not get a coat. Nope. Nevermind the fact that he already had one...
"Come get your coats over here!" Caleb called. He gathered them up in his arms again, just in case it started to snow really bad and the coats got buried in snow. As he passed them out, he noticed Ethan approach Grayson next. NO ETHAN. GRAYSON DOES NOT GET TWO COATS.
"Sophie, here! Get covered up before you get frostbite!" he told him. Was that why Ethan had given him Grayson a coat? To give to Sophie? Well, he'd beaten him! MWAHAHA. Caleb 1, Grayson 0.

Zander shook his head in response, "No, you weren't going to ruin our...." Wait a minute, why was Sophie suddenly-- AHHHH! HOLY MERLIN'S GREYING UNDERPANTS!!! All that beautiful warmth and sunshine and beautiful beautiful sky what was happening to it!?! The Gryffindor's eyes opened WIDE in panic. He cold just feel the goosebumps spreading all down his entire body. Before he knew it, his teeth were chattering too. Uh. WHAT THE HECK WAS THE DOOR DOING?!
How were they supposed to get out!? Then, he heard Sophie telling him and the other girl to get put their street clothes back on. And that's when it hit him.
... O_______O He had no street clothes to put on.
The Gryffindor had been so excited at the mention of the word 'beach' that he had just decked himself out in all his beach clothes, neglecting to wear anything over them- granted, it would have been hard trying to wear a jumper over his floaties anyways, BUT STILL. The only thing he had was his towel! He looked around in the panic and chaos and spotted the place where he had thrown off his ahem, unneeded beach attire. He didn't even take the time to grab the snorkels, flippers, or floaties. All he wanted was the towel.
Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy. The towel wasn't helping. HE WAS FREEZING. And the worst part of all, HE DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROPER SHOES. Ahhhh this was a disaster.

While Sophie was suiting back up in her typical outerwear these days of many layers, she was pleased to see Maddie run off to Prefect Nigel, but she couldn't help but notice the look of panic on Zander's face. What? Had he... had he really come dressed like that? Sweet Merlin. How did he make it through the freezing castle without becoming a popsicle?
Poor guy.
Starting to take off the outermost layer she had just put on, Soph was moving toward Zander when Ethan came along, offering her another layer. Well golly, that was awfully nice of him, wasn't it? What a sweet long lost brother. "Thanks, Ethan. You're the best." She wasn't going to put it on, as she was bundled up pretty well already, but she would at least go donate to the nearest soul who did seem to be in need of one. She went to hand it off to Zander, then, but Ethan got him, too - upon looking around, she realized someone had duplicated some jackets for them all. Who did that? That was... wicked good thinking. Wow. Had to've been West. He was probably the only older student around that was thoughtful enough to do that, she thought.
In her search to find someone else to quickly hand the jacket off to, she saw Bellaire working on the sky - curious, Sophie watched, but was displeased when the clouds almost seemed to grow a darker color.
Then it was snowing.
Grumpy, Sophie peeked at Maddie and trudged over to her, wrapping the jacket around the girl's shoulders, then took off for the door. No reason to hang around if Bellaire's attempts at calming the sky down were just going to make everything worse, right?

For Merlin's sake. Sophia was so over this cold..long over this cold but she was beyond annoyed now, because it had desecrated the only place in this castle she could go and find some peace and relax. NO she was not okay with this.
She took her heels into the sand and prepared to combat with the storm that was brewing. She'd never even battle a snow storm before..hurricanes yes, blizzards? Negative.
One, two..three more shots were fired at the clouds and into the air by the woman determined to save her oasis.

Sophia looked over her shoulder and realized then, that she had told everyone to stay put. There was no easy getting rid of this storm so the party was definitely over before it even began.
"Kevin, Noel! Get out!"

Sophie blinked and came to her senses a little more and realized that she'd basically jumped into Grayson's arms when all this suddenly happened. Not only that, but he had his arms wrapped around her, too, which made her heart thump faster for reasons not related to the weather conditions.
She smiled at him, one of those heart-melting smiles, and then slowly slid away. "Sorry I pounced into you," she said, managing to blush a little despite things. "My clothes...they're...across the room." She pointed to her bag across the way and began to push her way through the room to try and get to it.
Sophie pushed her way through the wind in an attempt to get to her bag. She didn't trust a summoning spell now. With her luck, the bag would come hurtling toward her at a speed she couldn't handle. She was almost there...just a few more steps.
Was it...SNOWING?!
Oh, for MERLIN'S SAKE.

"Yeah I can do that." He took it and started making duplicates, shivering all the while.
Older students...right, now was the time for them to show their metal.
"Ethan, Miss Newell...Mr. Odessa, get them warm and get as many students out as possible then get out. Something tells me that this storm is about to get worse and I don't fancy dead students on my resume." She shot a spell at the door to hold it open for as long as that spell would last.
"Hurry..go..get out!"

Did Bellaire need help though? As Adi watched the activity around him, he thought he saw a snowflake. Maybe. Could be a speck of something else.

Quickly she did that, enjoying the slight heat it provided. This was no permanent solution and it was hard to keep calm, but she had to try while Bellaire worked on fixing the problem.
Was that a snowflake that just landed on her nose?
Why were those students standing around? Oh right she had told them to..but jeez, when would their self preservation skills kick in? They needed to leave..right now...
"Stop standing around and get out of the room while you can. Hurry along."

There was a true Slytherin right there. She was both proud and horrified that Cutty did not try to save a soul in that room. But at least she had one less student to worry about.

Taking a step towards the prefect, Maddie wrapped her arns around his leg and hugged. YES, hugged. But this was LIFE or FREEZE and she was only doing this for the good of the SCHOOL. She was going to be a BIG deal some day and they COULDN'T afford to lose her.

He was gonna tell Ruby on him. Mhmmm.
Couldn't they have just ONE DAY?!
And now it was snowing. Great.
STOP SABOTAGING HIS ATTEMPT TO SABOTAGE GRAYSON AND SOPHIE'S FLIRTING, SLYTHERINS!

What? Had he... had he really come dressed like that?
Coats, good idea..very good idea but they would not be useful to frozen students..frozen dead students. They needed to get those coats on outside.
"Out..get out! Get the younger ones warmed up on the outside!" The professor then turned back to battle the elements.
She soooooooooooooooo did not sign up for this and after today, she was seeking a raise.

Sophie finally reached her bag and slung it securely over her shoulder. She wasn't even going to try and open it and get out her street clothes. They'd probably just fly across the room and get lost anyway. So she kept the bag secured across her shoulders and nodded as the professor instructed them to get the younger students out and then get out themselves.
She cast a glance over her shoulder at both Caleb and Grayson, kind of wanting to go save them first, but she knew neither boy needed saving. They could both handle their own. Sophie headed toward the door, all the while guiding a few younger ones out with her. The door was being held open, so she decided to make a run for it while she still could.
As she reached the door, she quickly slid out and into the safety of the corridor.

It was freezing cold and this would be the absolute last time he ever traveled without a jacket. Man. His mother had been right all these years. Figures.
After a few failed attempts at the insulation charm (of course only when it actually counts he can't get it right), he decided to just stick with his lame towel. But then, an angel came through in the form of Ethan. A jacket?! For him! "T-t-t-thanks," he shivered as he carefully put on the jacket and aaaah it felt so much nicer already. But it was still cold.
He also spotted Sophie out of the corner of his eye. Was she running to the door?! BRILLIANT! She may have been part Slytherin and Gryffindor, but CLEARLY there was a reason why she was sorted among the claws. The boy wasted no time running towards the door before checking back on the rest of his friends.
Hopefully they'd follow because it was starting to... O______O MERLIN SNOW!?

Leaving. Right then. Smart choice when this didn't seem like it was letting up. No questions asked Lex grabbed at Cassia's hand because there would be no leaving the bestie behind, grabbed all her other things and slipped back through the door. The good thing about being a bouncer is you're already at the door so your exit is guaranteed. Even as she made her way out she called after Dima. "No wasting time, come on!"
Can't leave him behind either. Of course Nigel was his prefect so he'd see to his exit if nothing else but still, you could never be too sure in times like these.
The storm wouldn't follow them out would it??? O_O

Ethan does not need to be told twice. Bellaire was pretty furious because the SNOW was such a party pooper. The freak weather WAS NOT invited. Well, if only there was such a thing as bouncers for the weather then, today could have turned out to be a wicked beach party. Well. At least he was able to enjoy the sun for approximately five minutes. Now it was back to their nightmare.
“All right you small people. OUT! Come on!” he roared to the bunch of first and second years and he made his way to the door. He let the small ones run through it first before he did. “OI! You’re wearing the jacket the wrong way--…er. Nevermind! OUT!” he said to a random first year. Who cares about it now yeah?
Seeing that older students were the only ones left, Ethan headed out the door.
Hello, cold. We meet again.
