When not in use for classes, several of the greenhouses that are located on the school grounds are open for private and independent research and study. In fact, this is highly encouraged.
Within the unlocked doors of the greenhouses you will find rows and rows of plants. The greenhouses contain a wide variety of plants - both magical and mundane. Want to practice your pruning skills? Why not practice on the Abyssinian Shrivelfig of a Flutterby Bush? Or perhaps you want to harvest some Puffapod seeds- just don’t drop them! -- unless you want to of course.
The store cupboards are stocked with all the tools and materials you could possibly need. Trowels, buckets, pegs, twine, fertiliser, spare gloves, spare work robes and a selection of mundane seed and bulbs. If you borrow something, be sure you return it.
Remember Professor Bentley likes to take regular strolls through the greenhouse to check on things. So make sure you wear your protective gear and behave yourselves accordingly.

Kyroh was actually sweating! He was! All the running back and forth and lifting. Somewhere among the midst of everything he had lost his sidekicks but sidekicks were replaceable right? Plants were too important right now to go look for them. Running back to the Greenhouses Kyroh turned right into Greenhouse 6 this time. He had skipped the others after seeing a bunch of people in there. What if he was the first one to go into this greenhouse to save these plants? Wicked!!
Pulling open the door, Kyroh's breath hitched. He had never been in this greenhouse before but it had aquariums. THAT WASN'T GOOD! He walked over to a large one and gazed at it. The water didn't look frozen but it was probably very very cold (which he was sure it wasn't suppose to be) and on the verge of freezing.
He didn't know how to transport water though! He couldn't just shrink the tanks! f he did that and started to run the water would still pour out!
Kyroh hopped from one foot to the other. Completely worried, and at a loss of exactly what to do.

It seemed they and the rest of the helpers had moved on in their absence, or at least it seemed to the Gryffindor that way, Benny following Adi to Greenhouse 3. Seeing that clearly nobody was going to help her with the plants that she has just SAVED she picked up the pots and made her way out of the greenhouse. She could do this all by herself. AJ didn't need help from anyone.
Just as she was about to make her way out of the greenhouse she heard the professor say that they needed to move on. "Just putting these up and then I will be back." Greenhouse 8! she wondered what was in there. Apparently only the older kids were to be allowed there. Pity!

Zander walked in.. Or should I say, stumbled, into Greenhouse six. He was doing his best to catch his breath after his run back down. He had to escape that Great Hall room before Bentley caught sight of his sweaty hair! HE COULDN'T POSSIBLY LET HER SEE!
So as the Gryffindor was still regaining oxygen, he noticed a hopping Ravenclaw (Kyroh) looking especially confused. Uh?
In between huge pants the Gryffindor walked over to the younger boy, "What's" BREATHE "the matter?" BREATHE "Need" BREATHE any help?" GASP FOR AIR AND MORE BREATHING.

Whew! This was tough work. But it was all for the poor defenseless plants. And for Professor Bentley, of course. By now Adi had potted five plants. He looked over at Benny's and saw he had about the same amount. Awesome! They weren't doing bad at all.
He finished potting his sixth plant when Bentley addressed them again. The older ones got to go help out in Greenhouse Eight? That's where more dangerous plants were kept, right? Aw man! Adi wanted to go help there too. Too bad he was only a third year.
"I think we'd better take these to the Great Hall and then move on to one of the other Greenhouses. "Which one should we take next?'' It was only fair that Benny chose this time because he had chosen to come to this Greenhouse. Adi didn't want his friend to think he was bossing him around, either.
"Mobiliarbus!" The potted plants rose. To the temporary greenhouse!

Okay, he had to think. Think. He could just just levitating the aquariums but that took on the risk of completely exposing them to the cold while he walked SLOWLY to the castle to try and not spill any water. Plus they had to be really heavy and could Kyroh even manage to lift it?
He could also try to pour some water out but what if SOME plants needed LOTS of water!? Kyroh didn't know!!
The door opened and he was so wrapped up Kyroh didn't even notice. It wasn't until the sound of loud panting entered his ears did Kyroh turn to look.
HIS SIDE KICK!!!!!!!!!
"Yess!" Kyroh ran over to the boy and wrapped his arms around him for a MUCH NEEDED hug. "All the plants in where are water plants so I don't know how to move them but if we don't move them soon the water in the aquariums are gonna freeze and Bentley will be really sad cause her plants will be gone forever and I don't want her to be sad but I don't know what to do!" It wasn't till he was finished did Kyroh take a long breath. "Also, hi I'm Kyroh! And you're my side kick but I don't know your name!"

"Mobiliarbus!" The potted plants rose. To the temporary greenhouse!
When they had said quick, Benny hadn't known how quick they would be going. But then with many hands and much help, it was bound to go at a decent pace. The work was just moving...moving...moving. First one...then two pots were filled with new inhabitants and finally three, four, five and six.
"Sounds like a plan," he agreed. Any more and they could have trouble
carrying them over to the Great Hall, perhaps even loosing one or two in the process. And that would only make more work when they were just trying to do what they could to help.
"Mobiliarbus!" he echoed, levitating his own plants up from the ground. "How about...Greenhouse 5?" That way it was the latter one and the time they took to travel back and forth, it should be just about right. With that thought in mind, he moved with Adi and their plants out of the greenhouse.

Lucy continued to surprise her, she was such a bright girl... so bright.
"They most certainly do," or at least, most varieties. "That's not a bad idea, but the risk we run with a portable swamp at this stage is the swamp waters freezing and doing more harm than good. We'll see how they go in the temporary location, but alternative arrangements might have to be made."
But it pleased her to see the girl had taken a keen interest in the subject, and was already so apt.

Yep, very useful. Seren beamed at the Hufflepuff, she was in a far better mood now. Now that there had been some progress, and her babies weren't in as much danger as when she stumbled upon the mess.

Jasmine tried to finish up with the last two plants that she had been working on by adding the last bits of potting soil to each one. She added those plants to the other group of completed plants and called out, "These are all ready to go". Brushing herself off, Jasmine removed her gloves and gathered her things. Not sure that she was ready to tackle Greenhouse Eight, she decided to head to Greenhouse Three. After giving it some thought, Jasmine changed her mind. The older students were needed to help with the more dangerous plants. She knew what she should do and before she could change her mind again, Jasmine said, "I'll help you in Number Eight Professor".
"You willll?" Seren trilled, clapping her gloved hands together in joy. "Excellent, and I assure you... you're safe. I imagine it's too cold for them to be bothered doing much of anything..." and they would soon be sedated too. Yep.
That was it? Two volunteers? ... Nahhh... more would tag along, she was sure. They were flesh eaters after all.
"Alrighty, come along then," she mused, leading the way to greenhouse eight. Though it was usually locked and well secured, the cracked and smashed panes of glass did little to keep anyone out, or anything in... her only saving grace was that the freezing conditions would mean that the bigger trees would be rooted where they were.
Still, nevertheless, she unlocked the door and stepped in ahead of the students, fumbling around quickly in the greenhouses special stores cupboard for a couple of spray bottles. The solution in them was frozen, surprise surprise, but that was easily remedied.
"Unfreeze these, and spray the shrubs and trees down... they should be well subdued as they are, but for the sake of safety first, we'll sedate them some more." She offered bottled to those present..
"The smaller varieties should be moved off immediately, they're fine without the solution... and I'll take care of the trees." They were quite big, better to be safe than sorry.. and there was plenty for them to do as it was.
"There's a caged off area in the room, you may have noticed," or not, had they spent most of their time repotting than transporting... "it's open for now, so place them in there... I'll secure it once we're done."
Questions? Concerns?
Let's do it!

OOOH, HUGGING!? That was.... unexpected? Zander awkwardly patted the young one's back as he hug attacked him. Eugh. Now they'd both be all sweaty and gross. But maybe the young one could mask his smell so that Bentley wouldn't notice!? YES HUGS FOR YOU, YOUNG ONE! SWEATY HUGS FOR EVERYONE!
Ahem, anyways.
This kid needed to take a breath. LET ZANDER BREATHE FOR YOU, YOUNG ONE. The Gryffindor was already breathing so hard anyways. Practically professional breather status at the moment actually. Thankfully he was starting to regain his normal breath as he listened to the young one explain why he was so panicked. Poor kid sounded like he was going to faint or something.
Ah, water plants? Zander hadn't really taken a look at the plants around him until now. Oh. That would be rather... problematic. Bentley really sad!? NO. THEY CANNOT LET THAT HAPPEN. He could not let the love of his life, cough, his favorite professor be sad. No!

Normally he wasn't all sweaty and heavy breathing and stuff, but that was just a side effect from all this plant work stuff. Yeah. Anyways, water plants. How would they transport the water plants? "Or uh... Uh... We could shrink them?" Would the water shrink with them though? He's only a third year okay he shouldn't have to know this stuff! "Shrink them and then fill them back up with water when we get up to the Great Hall room?"

Jasmine followed Professor Bentley to Greenhouse Eight. Surely she and Cris weren't the only older students volunteering for maneater duty. Hoping that the others were just finishing up their other tasks, Jasmine waited for the Professor to give them the OK to enter the Greenhouse.
Taking the spray bottle that was given to her, Jasmine prepared to thaw he frozen solution inside of it. Giving her wand a complicated wave, she said, "Ventus". Hoping that the warm air would do the trick, Jasmine mothewaterwand around the bottle. She was glad when she saw the frozen liquid begin to melt. Finally her bottle was ready for spraying.
Jasmine began to spray the shrubs and trees from top to bottom........well, as close to the top as she could reach. Maybe Cris could take on the higher parts, if necessary. On and on she went from one tree to the next, making sure that they were well sedated. She didn't want anyone to have trouble with any of the trees when it was time to move them.

Cris blinked and then double blinked. Had Professor Bentley made reference to his muscles. He knew he had them, but he didn't realize that Professor Bentley had noticed. Not that he had anything to be embarrassed about. No, he was sure that she was referencing to the fact that most boys had muscles. Yes...that was it.
Cris grinned when he realized Jasmine had also volunteered to help out in Greenhouse Eight. He smiled over at his girlfriend even as he followed Professor Bentley along the Greenhouse that held the Flesh-Eating plants.
He listened carefully to Professor Bentley's instructions. This was most definitely not the place to be making mistakes. He took the frozen bottles that Professor Bentley handed to them.
So they were supposed to first unfreeze the solution, then spray down the shrubs and bushes to sedate them. Cris nodded his understanding before turning to Jasmine. He noticed that she was having problems spraying the top of the shrubs and bushes, so he made a mental note to himself to cover those areas once he had unfrozen the solution.
"Ventus" Cris pointed his wand at the first froze bottle and waited for the hot air to unfreeze the liquid inside before ending the spell. Then he repeated the spell over a few more bottles before placing one in each of his jean pockets. Picking up the third, he began to spray the shrubs and bushes up and down taking great care to make sure that whatever he was spraying on the plants covered every inch of it.
As he walked along the rows, spraying the plants, he also made sure to spray the tops of those bushes and shrubs that Jasmine had not been able reach. Once he had covered one row, Cris walked back to the beginning of the row and checked each plant to make sure that they were properly sedated.
It was now time to start moving them.

Lucy followed the instructions of her Professor..She started to spray the rubs and trees better then she could..Lucy pointed her wand at the bottle and she said: "Ventus!!!"...
She had never practiced this spell..but she hoped that it would be useful to help the plants!
Professor..The heat that comes out from the wand when I use the incantation "Lumos solem" could warm the plants?"

Having sprayed the shrubs and bushes with the sedative solution, Cris walked over to the supply shed and removed another wheelbarrow from it. Wheeling it over to the smaller Flesh eating potted plants, Cris began placing them into the wheelbarrow.
Once he had a couple of pots safe and snug...and most definitely sedated, he picked up the handles and pushed the wheelbarrow out of Greenhouse Eight and up to the castle.
"I'll be back to help repot the shrubs," Cris called out on his way out.
dream until your • dreams come true ~ Human pygmy puff
Jasmine glanced appreciatively at Cris for spraying the taller plants and trees where she could not reach. "Thanks partner", she said to him. Having finished sedating all the trees and bushes, Jasmine was ready to move on to the next step. Professor Bentley had said that she would take care of the trees so it was on to the shrubs.
Since Cris had gone to transport the smaller plants, Jasmine went to get some pots for the shrubs. They would have to be enlarged so that the shrubs could be moved to the temporary Greenhouse. Finding another wheelbarrow, Jasmine filled it with pots and sacks of potting soil. She headed back to the shrubs and prepared for the task at hand.

Cris pushed the wheelbarrow back into Greenhouse Eight. "Sorry for taking so long, I didn't realize how difficult it was to push the wheelbarrow though the freezing cold" Cris told Jasmine as he jumped up and down doing jumping jacks to warm himself up.
Seeing that Jasmine was working on repotting the larger plants into the pots, he immediately set about to do the same. He pushed the wheelbarrow over to the supply shed and took out more empty pots placing them in the wheelbarrow. Then he wheeled it over to the flower beds, took the pots out and began magically enlarging some of them.
"Engorgio," he said the incantation as he waved his wand over the pots then ending the spell when the pots reached the sizes that were required. Holstering his wand, Cris then walked over to join Jasmine. "Can I help you with that?"

The brown haired boy didn't even notice the sweat. Nope. He was too worried and to happy to get hugs to notice. Hugs, yes. Hugs were good and it calmed him down a bit. Kyroh pulled away reluctantly. They had to fix the problem, and couldn't do so while hugging.

No. He had already went through the problem with that! This is why YOU Mister Gryffindor, was the sidekick. "But what if the plants are like fish and they start to die without water?" Jasmine was glad to see Cris back fom delivering plants to the temporary Greenhouse. "You didn't take long at all. Of course you can help me, you already have." Looking at the pots that Cris had enlarged, Jasmine began to add small amounts of soil to each one. They could be filled after the plants and bushes were placed inside of them.
"Which ones do you think we should start with?", Jasmine asked Cris. She hoped that some other students would come to help at Greenhouse Eight. That would certainly make the work go faster.

Back to the greenhouses and Benny made sure to head towards Greenhouse 5. They had said that was the next one they would be working on in the progression of things, Or at least he had offered it as a choice for their next task and Adi had gone along with it whole-heartedly. Not like there was any real reason why it wouldn't be agreeable to head there out of all the available work areas that were available. A list that was dwindling as they all progressed.
The plants found within were all desert-type or at least plants that prefered dry areas. Surely they didn't like the cold at all. Looking through the remaining specimens, Benny found himself keeping away from the prickly cacti and heading more towards the grasses and similar plants.

Plants were like fish? O__o Oh. That made sense... Sort of? Kind of... Not really.. Well... Kyroh was the Ravenclaw... Zander nodded as he considered that fact. Hm... But what else could they do? "What if we... If we... Levitated them? And one of us kept using the ventus charm to keep them warm?" If they were really carefully about it they wouldn't spill the water, right?
"And we'd just walk reeeeaaaally slowly so that we don't spill the water?" Would that even work? Could that even work? They would have to make tons of trips wouldn't they? But what if they got other students involved? Then they could all work together and get it down quickly! Or... Or... Yeah. That's it. That's all Zander had.
Either way they had to save the plants! Then THEY could be BENTLEY'S herbology angels!! She would be so impressed! And then maybe she'd hug him, ahem, them. AND THEN MAYBE SHE WOULDN'T LET GO AND HE, ahem, THEY WOULD BE HER FAVORITES EVER!

Adi followed Benny to Greenhouse five. He made sure his gloves were secure on his hand for he knew that particular Greenhouse was inhabited with cacti. He instantly spotted some cacti which were already in pots but had not been removed. Adi made a mental note to get those to the Great Hall.
He also noticed some grassy looking plants. Potted too. Those would make their job easier. "Benny, how about you take the potted grassies over there and I'll take the cacti?''

As instructed, Mo grabbed up one of the bottles of potion. Frozen bottles, actually. He shook the bottle gently, feeling a slight give inside that indicated it wasn't frozen all the way through, and then Mo pointed his wand at the bottle and heated it very very gently. Just enough to melt the contents, but not enough to heat it or the bottle.
When the liquid was more liquidy and much less slushy, Mo holstered his wand and moved carefully over to start spraying the plants that Bentley had indicated. He could help with subduing the trees, even if he wasn't to move them. Right?
Or maybe he just wanted a chance to look at them up close and personal while they were unable to fight back.

Cris smiled at Jasmine's comment. Feigning pulling up his sleeves, he turned to look at the plants in the flower bed before gesturing to one group.
"How about that one over there?" Cris turned to ask Jasmine. "They look pretty sedated to me. What do you think? We can always keep a look out if it starts to wake up and stun," Cris suggested to Jasmine as he moved over to study the flesh eating plant.
He tentatively poked the plant with his finger to see whether it would react. But when its head continued to move sluggishly, Cris gave a thumbs-up signal. "This one looks ready," and with that Cris began the process of removing the plant from the flower bed into its pot.
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite
Lex followed the Professor and Mo back to Greenhouse 8, more than ready to get the flesh eaters to some form of safety. Dangerous job this was, meant only for the qualified--which of course included her and every other sixth and seventh year apparently. Way to kill it Professor. The job wasn't nearly as epic now--okay, no, no it was still epic because flesh eaters helloooooo but you got the idea.
Alexa took a spray bottle, frozen solid, this didn't surprize her. "Ventus." Cast a few times until she felt some movement in the botte. Proof the ice was leaving and her work was paying off. After another cast or three she got it liquid enough for spraying, giving it a few shakes for good measure.
Sedating time!
Lex made her way through the rows, looking for the bigger and thus more dangerous plants in the room. Like the snargaluff over there. It wasn't thrashing about or anything...not even trying to snag someone by the ankle but the Professor said sedating needed to happen anyway for precautionary measures SO spraying at it like there was no tomorrow...only maybe a little less excessively.
At least she was getting the job done.

Woah. Now that was something he never thought of. The Ventus charm? Kyroh hadn't even used it yet but he could do it! He could. "That's a GREAT idea sidekick Zander!" Kyroh even started to bounce in excitement, the defeated look vanishing from his face. The Ravenclaw was SUCH a good sidekick picker.
"I'll do the ventus charm." Only because Kyroh wasn't sure he could levitate that many aquariums at once.

Great idea?! YAY! Zander didn't even mind being called sidekick. Because at this rate, they'd save all the plants and he wouldn't be a sidekick anymore. He'd be a HERO! And more importantly, PROFESSOR BENTLEY'S HERO! Yes! Though he was still super tired from all that running back and forth between the Great Hall and Greenhouses, that much seemed to excite him to the point that he was ready to work again!
For Bentley! She'd definitely give them hugs after that! He would be her darling AND HERO and she would love him forever and ever and--
Wait. First the plants. Ahem.
With a smile the Third Year looked at his new Ravenclaw partner, "Let's do this!" He walked over to one section of the greenhouse and aimed his wand. "Mobiliarbus!" So far so good! Now they'd just have to start walking. "Ready to go, Kyroh?"
