As you walk through the corridor, passing the creepy spirit room and ignoring the portraits' conversation among each other, you'll encounter a turn to your left where the scene will change entirely. Here, you'll find much more lit area with a double couch, and two more single ones. This marks the Ancient Runes territory. There's a vase with white flowers in the middle of this seating area. A book or two are usually scattered on top of the small table too, those are chosen by the professor for educational and entertainment purposes. Watch out though, the issue of those comic books or magazines may be way, WAY out of date talk about 30 years late.
It wasn't the start of term for Toby until he'd paid Professor Botros his usual visit. The Hufflepuff wasted no time at all before arriving at the elderly (again) professor's door. He knocked three times in rapid succession and stood there waiting, not really wanting to sit down when he had the option to stand.
Drumming his hands on his legs as he stood there, Toby soon found himself looking over at the trophy board. It was Ella's name in particular that caught his eye, and gave him an emotion, but now that he looked at the board properly for the first time... Toby couldn't help but really suddenly yearn to see his name on there one day. If there was no Quidditch this year, maybe, just maybe, he could really throw himself into his favourite subjects.
Hopefully.

Botros was already in his office, doing some light cleaning. The elves did a great job, but when you had an overexcited Crup in your hands you had to do some from time to time. Feo was jumping around, happy in his own little head, with a magical small bone floating away from him.
When the knocks were heard, the Crup raced towards the door, Ab flicked his wand to open it just in time for Feo to prance on whoever was waiting at the threshold. "Come in!"
This was the perfect time for Emmylou to meet all of her professors and any other important people of Hogwarts. She wanted to get the first hand of introducing herself and it was always a good thing to do, it made the professors notice their students more and what students to look out for. If it wasn't for her Aunt Raeanne then she wouldn't have known that or even think about meeting any of her professors at all. She didn't know much about the professors at the school though but she would be sure to befriend most if not all of them.
Honestly, Emmylou was pretty much a nervous wreck, she didn't think she would be nervous to be at Hogwarts, she had heard some much about it and she was even dating one of the Hufflepuff students here even before she was even here. Emmy didn't miss Beauxbatons only because she didn't really care for the people there, she just didn't like the way all of them acted. The newly sorted Gryffindor looked around the seating area, she looked over at the outdated comics, she had to read more comic books. Emmylou took a seat and waited for the professor of Ancient Runes to be done with whatever they were doing.

Botros wasn't in the office that day, he'd been walking Feo and then losing him somewhere around the second floor. His cane made the familiar clanking sound on the stony floor as he approached his office, and spotted a young Gryffindor waiting there. He offered her a small smile and leaned on his cane, "Good evening, dear. Want to come in?" He opened the door for her and ushered her in.

Emmylou smiled as the professor walked into the seating area, she gave him a little wave. Emmy looked at him, he looked older than the other professors that she had met and there was nothing wrong with that. The older the wiser. "Hello." Emmylou smiled, her southern accent making her stand out. "Yes, that would nice. I'm Emmylou Duchannes." Introductions last a lifetime. "I'm a transfer."

Aah, Botros caught her unique accent right away. "Welcome to Hogwarts then, Ms. Duchannes. Do come in, please." He'd offer her some of his tea and maybe chat a little about her former study arrangements. Ancient Runes wasn't an easy subject to dive in.
Nigel was still confused about what he wanted to do in the future. But he was only 18 so he assumed he still had time. But with band stuff and what he wants to do different. It only made it harder. Now Nigel wanted to talk to someone about some post Hogwarts stuff and who better than Botros. He must know something with all the years he has been alive.
Plus Runes and Curse Breaking went hand in hand.
Still was the only thing he wanted to besides band stuff. Nigel knocked on the door and waited. Maybe he would get something out of talking to Botros.

Botros had his glasses on his nose bridge, reading from an old giant book as usual when the knocking reached his ears. "Come in!"

Cassie pulled her kitty purse up on her shoulder as she made her way with Nessa towards the Fifth floor. "This is going to be so much fun." She was already snapping and they hadn't even confirmed what they were wanting to confirm yet. "You do think he'll do it don't you?" She didn't know the Ancient Runes Professor that well, but what she had seen, he seemed like a jolly older man and that's what they needed jolly.
Glancing at the seating area she figured it could use a bit of color and possibly some fun. Maybe she'd recommend a few of her bouncy seats to him, but another day. They were there on a mission. It was getting closer to the December date and they had to finalize their plans. Cassie pulled out her check list, "Have you talked to the elves yet, because I haven't. I think we need some variety and I still need to talk to them about possibly making a few more vegetarian meals." She was getting tired of the same old things. Not that she should be complaining since the blonde didn't know how to cook.
"The decorations seem to be set, music set, now all we need is for Botros to say yes." She was sure he would and with that she confidently knocked on the door.
Her tap heels making click-clacking noises against the stone floor as she walked, Nessa hurried along excitedly with Cassie through the fifth floor corridor. She had been dancing in her suite earlier and had been in too much of a rush to transfigure her shoes back to normal. But it didn't seem to be a big deal to her. And she was far too excited to worry about it. "Oh of course he will!" she beamed as they made their way to the Runes professor's seating area. They always had a way of convincing people. "I have a little bribe too if he's a little unsure." She patted her tote bag and gave a knowing smile. Well, it was more of a gift.. and she would give it to him either way.
The brunette leaned over and peered over Cassie's shoulder, brown eyes scanning her list. It seemed like everything was in order.. well, most everything. But hopefully they'd accomplish the rest today. "No, I haven't.. but that's a good idea. I wonder if they could do our cookies.." Because she certainly wasn't making them. Otherwise they'd be coming the from the store. And did they know how to make something vegetarian that didn't taste like cardboard? She knew they tried, bless their little hearts, but vegetarian just wasn't Nessa's thing. It would be nice for Cassie though if there was something tasty now and again.
Nessa took a seat on the comfy looking couch as Cassie went to knock. Eeep, she was so excited! Botros just had to say yes! It was the perfect finishing touch.

Botros had his reading glasses on his nose bridge as always, trying to decipher one of the ancient scrolls that was sent to him from the academy. It was long enough to extend from his desk inside to the office's door on the other side. His Crup was sleeping in the corner, snoring. Not even the knock on the door woke him up. Weird.
"Come in!" The old professor called out, without lifting his eyes from the parchment scroll. Must be another advice seeker.

After receiving Professor Botros' owl in response, Simon hurriedly made his way over to the Professor's office. He couldn't wait to meet Feo and take him out for a walk around the Hogwarts grounds. Simon needed a break from the hours he had spent on working on various assignments and playing with an excited Crup seemed like the perfect way to de-stress himself.
Taking a deep breath, he knocked on the Professor's office door. He hoped that he wasn't interrupting a meeting or whatnot. If so, he'd wait or just get Feo and head out to the Lake.

The Crup pounded on the stony floor and banged right into the door when the knock was heard. Professor Botros' footsteps came right behind him, slower. When the office's door opened, the Crup woofed excitedly at the new boy, Ab smiled gently at the Slytherin. "You must be Mr. Holden. Good afternoon, son." The Crup started running around both of them, more WOOF WOFF and other attention-seeking noises.
"Thank you again for offering your help." As the boy could see, the pet was just too excited to get out of the office. Heh. No one could blame him, though, Botros can be found cooped up in his office all day without even noticing!

Simon heard the Crup bang into the door after he knocked. He laughed a little uncomfortably at first but when the door opened he felt more relieved when he saw Professor Botros. "Good afternoon, sir. I am Mr. Holden. Simon, sir. And you're more than welcome. I'm glad to help," he replied with a kind smile as he watched the Crup run around in circles around them too. He dropped to his knees and started petting Feo. Yes, they were going to go for a very long walk. It was going to be fun. He paused, wondering whether or not Feo would like the snow. Oh well! They'd soon find out.
"I'll bring him back in two hours!" he promised the Professor.

Cris was feeling all nice and warm right now, after coming in from the freezing cold out in the courtyard and grabbing a warm shower. He was here now waiting for Adi to arrive.
Cris carried his backpack with him. Inside them were the 'gifts' he had for Professor Botros. Adi had his own gifts too and both he and Cris had agreed that they would present them to their Ancient Runes professor at the same time.
Instead of knocking on the office door announcing his presence, Cris decided to sit down on one of the chairs instead. Once both of them were present, one of them would knock on the door.

Adi, humming to himself, made his way to Professor Botros's Office.Cris must be there already. But Adi just had to stop at the Kitchen first because he wanted some hot chocolate which the House Elves happily made for him. It had been freezing outside and hot chocolate was a great way to warm up.
The Hufflepuff had the three Remembralls he had found plus the bags of tea leaves snuugly in his pocket. He couldn't wait to see the pleased look on Botros's face when he and Cris handed them over.
Adi was right. Cris was there waiting for him. "Hey, Cris. All set to see the Professor?''

Digging inside he found various plastic bags containing the tea leaves he had collected and dried. He pulled them out and placed them on the table next to him. Then he continued his search for the Remembralls he had found. He had a total of 4. One he found at the Gobstones Viewing Arena, the second under the table at the staff dais. The third at the corridor leading to the courtyard, and the last one, at the courtyard itself.
Grabbing all four, Cris dropped them into his pocket, along with the plastic bags. Standing up from the chair, he stood next to Adi.

"Sure,'' Adi said. He rapped three times on old man Botros's office door. In the meanwhile, he watched Cris get his Remembralls. The older dude had four while Adi had three, giving them a total of seven. Not bad at all.
Between them, they had an assortment of tea leaves that he sure that was going to make delicious tea. Now, where was Botros? Adi decided to rap twice more. Just to make sure the man knew he had visitors at his door.

Professor Botros was inside, having a nap good read in his big arm-chair. The knocking woke him up with a startle, "Come in!" The door swung open for the boys to get inside.

He was anxious for two reasons. One being that he just didn't know how to socialize with the, er, older folk in a casual setting like this. Although he had learned a little through osmosis thanks to being old himself last term. But there was something more weighing on the astronomer's mind. A few things he had come across in his research that were concerning to say the least.
Timidly, he just barely knocked on the door twice. Oh who was he kidding, he wouldn't have even heard that knock. Stepping up to the door again, he gave it three more overly firm knocks.
And then one more because he preferred even numbers to odd.

Botros was taking a nap, wrapped up in two blankets and passed out on his rocking chain in front of his small fireplace by the corner. His crup was out harassing his lovely students, so all was quiet and nice and-- KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK. He sat up right, blinking. KNOCK.
Uhh, "Come in!" He called out, trying to get up without getting his feet tangled in the waaaarm blankets.

Merlin. Out of time. Why was the term going so fast.
Mo knocked on the door and waited for Botros to appear. Or not appear... they could try this again later.

Botros was on his hands and knees, under the big desk, squinting against his wand's light and patting the floor. Ooooh someone should vacuum down here, but before he could write this on a sticky note, a knock startled him. After a soft bump on the table above him, he wiggled out from under there bottom first.

With a grin on his face, Simon headed over towards Professor Botros' office. Even though it hadn't been apart of the assignment to make two Professors a Valentine card. Simon thought that he'd make one for Botros anyway because Botros allowed him to take Feo, a good friend of Simon's now, on as many walks around the Lake that he'd like. With the card in hand, Simon knocked on the door and waited patiently.
