Lightbulb Technology Center

A spare room located in annex to the Muggle Studies Classroom has been refurbished and renovated to allow muggle technology devices to work. Note: the technology found within this room will only work in this room of the castle.

All the devices are labeled and fully operative and functional, though many of them are bulky and outdated due to the nature of most of them being donated, given lack of adequate funding for newer items. Devices found within the center include several large computer workstations, old flip cellphones (the brick-kind ;D), corded and cordless phones of various styles. The phones all are operative to make local Britain and Scotland outgoing calls. There's also stereos and CD walkmans to listen to music, as you work on homework or study, if you'd like.

All the technology found within this room is open for both students and staff to play with, provided that you have signed a waiver agreement with the Muggle Studies Professor. Anyone caught using the equipment without signing the waiver is subject to punishment, up to and including banishment from the center - permanently.

Keeping her hands stuffed inside her pockets, Derry climbed up to the first floor from the dungeons and beamed when she saw Ves leaning against the wall. She was going to wave... but it was too cold. So she shouted instead. "Hey Ves!" It didn't take her long to reach the door... "I've got the letters." She wriggled her hand in her pocket, still not taking them out. They were staying in the warmth until they were needed thankyouverymuch.

Could they go inside now? Moving was nice. Movement produced warmth. Through energy transference and friction and stuff. ... Derry didn't like Physics. Biology was more her thing. Anyway, not the point. She reluctantly removed a hand from her pocket and opened the door, stepping in and holding it open for her friend.

Let's DO this.
The riding gear amused Vesper...for reasons. "Yes, I'm ready..." She'd just wanted to wait because it seemed to make more sense at the time. Thinking about it now, though...Well, it was simply too cold to have logic be a thing. Not at all her fault.

Pushing the door open with her elbow, because like Derry, Ves had buried her gloved hands deep into her pockets, she immediately approached the computers. The monitors were bulky, were easily triple the size of her laptop at home...and they had CPUs. Wow. Wooow.

Ves side!glanced Derry.

"Since the letters are the same mostly?, were you going to do a mass email?" Assuming the internet was going to work...She chewed on her lip a moment before taking a seat at one of the computers.

Yeah... Derry had thought her computer had been ancient. But since she'd been up close and personal with these things a couple of times... she'd reconsidered. ... She'd never tried to use the internet on them, she'd never thought of it. But... now that she was thinking about it... she was wondering if they were about to experience something that her grandmother had referred to as dial up speed... It was some sort of legend by the sound of it... back when it could take minutes to load just a page. But there was only one way to find out.

She walked to the newest looking computer (hoping it'd be the fastest, even if it did look about as old as her parents... or older) and switched it on. Here goes.

"Actually, I was thinking about emailing it all to Hamish and making him print and owl them..." she said as she waited for the computer to load. "I mean... I don't even know if they have an email address... being a magic band and all..." Granted, a lot of purebloods and stuff had computers now too, but she wasn't sure if the band would have email if people sent stuff by owl anyway. "And I thought... we could ask him to find a venue too..." You know... for thiiiiiings. After all, he was kinda handy like that. What with his stupid amounts of money and his lack of direction.

And his penchant for party planning.

"What d'you think?" she asked. Did Ves agree with her idea? Or did she think something else might work..? Derry opened a word document and smoothed out the parchment on the desk next to her as she waited for Vesper's verdict.

~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.

Adi wanted to listen to music. This wasn't unusual. He spent many times in the Technology Center doing just that. But right now he was thinking it wasn't such a bright idea. Why? The room was C-O-L-D! The winter clothing he had on seem to be doing nothing at all.

Maybe he would just listen to a few songs and then go back to the common room. So, Adi headed over to where the walkman were and set up on. How about dancing to warm up himself? Good idea...if he could dance properly. Didn't want anyone walking in- waaaait! That's it! The idea came to Adi in a flash. He whipped out his wand.

"Caelum Saepio!'' And a sideways eight movement. Was there fog coming form the wall he had targeted? Yes! He cast the spell a few more times on some other places on the wall. Excellent. Adi did feel warmer already. Now he could stay here a while longer.
