Student Bulletin Board

In the Entrance Hall hangs a long, vertical cork bulletin board encased in glass for students to hang any notices or signs for the entire student body to read. Members of any house are welcome to post any requests, advertisements, and lost and found notices (or other things) that do not belong on the boards in their common rooms. The glass case surrounding the board is never kept locked.

Botros got out from the Great Hall, munching on the last of his pie, and headed for the Student Bulletin Board to hang his... announcement thing. He didn't know what to call it, really. But yes, anyway, this had to be hanged somewhere so he could get a squad some students to help.

If you're a capable person (you are unless you are Mr. Sherman Clark), and you've completed your homework/brooding/teaching/trouble-making, and you're willing to help out a slightly old man then this is what you can do!

• Walk Feo, the overexcited Crup, for at least 2 hours by the lake. Do not let him eat any worms.
• Make a list of (1st, 2nd & 3rd year) students with their faces and distinguishing marks to help professor Abraham memorize them correctly.
• Polish the professor's canes. Make sure not to polish/wax the heel, though! That has hip-breaking consequences.
• Look for the missing Rememberalls around the school. They'll probably be glowing red.
• Harvest some tea leaves from the greenhouses, let them dry out in the sun for a few hours then deliver them to professor Botros.

Bundled in a jacket and gloves this time, Medea headed down to the student bulletin board, fiddling with the parchment in hand. Just the thought of Greece in summer was relieving to think about in the situation Hogwarts had found itself in with this terrible weather. Nevertheless, with what felt like frozen fingers, she hung the announcement upon the board before heading back to her warm office.

Quite the contrary to what some of his peers and classmates may have been feeling, Cutty Mordaunt was delighted to be snowed in. Why? Well, because necessity (mother of all creation) lead to demand and demand was a perfect opportunity for wealth. He was well and truly stocked for the school year on sweets foreign and domestic and that, he thought, meant that he could literally charge whatever he pleased for them.

The only unfortunate thing in this entire matter was that he'd soon be out of shrivelfig and potions ingredients. That meant that his height would soon be his natural height, which was too large for his robes. Or too small. His mother had sent him some robes by owl before it had become so frigidly cold, but they had been too large. She probably thought he'd grow into them. At present he swam in them.

He opened up the case and used a sticking charm to affix his advertisement to the student bulletin board. Let the people know sweets were just a few sickles away and that he also offered financing options. He stood back to admire his work before heading off to brew one last batch of shrinking potion.

Now that Victor was finally awake and doing well, Healer Tillstorm was finally able to leave the confines of the infirmary for just a little while. She had notices she needed to get posted for the students. Well for the 5th and 7th year students that is. So, bundled in her winter coat and gloves she made her way to the student bulletin board with parchment and wand in hand. Using a sticking charm she put up the following announcement.

Attention all 5th and 7th year students

Due to the extreme weather conditions we are having, OWL and NEWT exams have been postponed at this time. All current fifth and seventh year students will receive notice when the exams will be available for you to take. Please see your Head of House if you have any questions or concerns about these exams. And YES! You still have to study for your exams!

Once the notice was up she took a minute to look over the others on the board.

Really Botros. If you're too old to walk your dog then maybe you should get rid of it. She then looked at the rest of his list. Make a list of students with their faces and distinguishing marks to help him remember them. Polish his canes. Look for his missing Rememberalls. Collect and dry tea leaves for him. It looks to Cece like that old man needs to be sent to a retirement home, not be teaching impressionable young students, who were not his slaves.

And look, there was another summer field trip coming up. Cece just might have to check into that one. Especially if Zoe was planning on going.

But the one that really caught her eye was the one that had been placed there by one of her own students. Cutty Mordaunt. She didn't know if she should be angry at him for trying to take advantage of the weather situation, or if she should be impressed that he was taking the initiative to become a young entrepreneur. Yeah, entrepreneur it was. However, she would need to have a chat with him about this.

Once she finished looking at the board she quickly made her way up to the towers. She wanted to get this notice placed in all the common rooms too. She wanted to make sure all affected students were aware of this.

Was what he was about to do necessary? Of course not. The astronomer hardly did anything out of necessity unless it was in regards to science. There was certain protocol to follow there, of course. No, this was just for...his own amusement really. And if gave him something to work on since his stargazing was out of the question and his knitting project now complete. He also needed to properly learn how to START a knitting project without magic - he had cheated the first few steps with magic previously, but shhhhhh - so that he could instruct Medea more efficiently...but this had been quite the enjoyable little side project.

With two piecing of parchment in hand, he approached the bulletin board and moved some old announcements around to make room for his own. Aw, pity about OWLs and NEWTs, but at least students would get the chance to take them...assuming things took a turn for the better.

Smirking, he used his want to stick the first poster up.

Stepping back to make sure that it was straight, he gave the poster an approving nod and smirk as he placed the second one directly underneath it.

Had to know exactly what the blanket looked like in order to be able to find it after all. Heh.

Cackling to himself, and rubbing his hands together in that mad scientist fashion he had become accustomed to doing over the term (perhaps due in part to some of the senile tendencies he had acquired last term?), he gave the notice board to big thumbs up and then strut his way down the corridor towards the Great Hall for some much needed breakfast.

Normally, Kevin wouldn't have bothered helping out or even doing this homework but he knew that putting insulation charms around the castle meant that he too would benefit from it and that was the only reason why he decided to help out. Nothing more.

The young Gryffindor decided to go to the lowest part of the castle. While, technically that was the dungeon but that also meant he would probably see Culloden there and he wasn't in the mood of seeing his face ever. So he found himself near the Great Hall. With his wand at the ready, Kevin saw that no one was here yet and it was chilly in here as well.

He walked to the wall near the Bulletin Board and waved his wand in an infinity shape while saying "Caelum Saepio!" ....Had...it worked? It was still cold in here as the Gryffindor had to wrap his robe closer around him. Maybe he should try again? He moved away from that wall to point his wand somewhere else and shouted "Caelum Saepio!" a second time. Hmm..maybe the spell had worked but he wouldn't find out until he left the area and come back later to feel the difference?

Yeah...not his problem. He was done here now. Kevin turned around to leave the area when his eyes landed on the bulletin board itself and he frowned at the "wanted poster" BWAHAHA what kind of IDIOT was on it? He walked closer to the board and realised that .......that IDIOT.....was HIM.

He grabbed the corner of the poster where his face was on and tried to tear it off of the wall with his hand to get rid of it but it didn't work. He groaned as he blew on his fingers to ease the pain from scratching the wall and decided to look at it from another view. At least he got more fame than he normally had ahem.

He left the area to use the insulation charm on the floor above until he came back to the common room and he would sleep.
