If you happen to try one of the doors near the end of the sixth floor corridor, you might just find yourself in a handsome (if not dusty and aged) office of a large size. The faint smell of crystallized pineapple seems to linger in the air of the room, which contains numerous side doors and nooks and crannies... all of which remain firmly locked.
Although the room is devoid of any office-like furniture, or any furniture at all, there is still an impressive, but faded, rug before the large fireplace and long mirror hanging over that to boot. The spare office is still a cool place to hang out, practice some wandwork, or do some light reading. Just don't linger too long; the office's famous owner was only fond of certain guests... and only as long as they didn't ask prying questions.
Zahra snorted loudly. "BOTH of those? Yes. Just yes covers it hehe." HE TOTALLY HAD NEARLY KILLED THEM with burning the tent. It'd been awesome. Zahra's hair smelled for days, essence of BURNT HAIR. Hahaha! Good times... good times...
They'd said that last year, about running away for the summer... but when he suggested it this time? It actually seemed feasible. It seemed reasonable, all things considered.
AND she was about to SAY so when Mikey dropped THAT info on her. Durmstrang. Durmstrang as a reality and not just a threat. She pushed his hands away and backed up. They couldn't SNUGGLE right now! Durmstrang! What! NO. NO. NO.
NO.
When had she started shaking her head? Zahra made herself stop and MADE herself say SOMETHING.... "... that's not... but... why do they HATE me?!?!?! That's not FAIR! You're old enough to decide for yourself! WHat if I come WITH you? What then? THey'll move you to Beauxbaton?" Zahra was OUTRAGED.
The moment Zahra pushed him away, Michael let his hands fall limply by his sides and he heaved a heavy sigh. He hadn't even left yet and already he felt the distance between them.
"They don't..." He paused and tried again. "They don't hate you Z." Michael understood her anger, he had felt the same when his parents had informed him of their decision. He had ranted and raved but nothing was going to change their minds. Now he just felt numb.
"But I'm not of age." As his parents reminded him often. And since he wasn't of age then he had to do what he was told. "You know very well that your parents won't let you follow me. Even if they did my mum and dad would probably just have me homeschooled." They had threatened him with that as well.
The look he gave her was an imploring one. He didn't want them to fight. Not now. "It's because of what happened...you know...at my birthday." That had probably been one of the most embarrassing moments of his life. "I have never, ever seen my mother so angry before."

Astronomy was amazing, fantastic, brilliant but DADA always won out in the end. No changing that.
Despite the fact she was meant to be drawing, Lex found herself focusing on First Year next to her. If you asked her she didn't seem all that impressed by the magic behind the hat. It was all the same to her. It'd been helpful in her finding her home here so she wouldn't complain, or question it for that matter. She gave a small shrug and got back to the kitchen level sketching. "When the Founders made this place, they all knew who they wanted to teach and they needed something that could snoop out those qualities for them. The hat just seemed like the best idea I guess." That was the only explanation she could give. Why else give a hat that much power.
Ohhhh, one of those content to go anywhere. Definitely Hufflepuff. But that wasn't a bad thing. "Man, why does everyone want Ravenclaw before they learn better?" Her tone was light enough, she meant no offense by it...despite her dislike of those in blue. Ahem.
Defense Against the Dark Arts. At the moment, that was Hayden's favorite class too. Astronomy, however, wasn't really her thing. "Do you want to go into something related to either of those?" She hoped her question had made sense, and she hoped Lex didn't mind her asking. She was just curious but she'd drop the subject if Lex didn't want to talk about it.
"But people can change, so the qualities they have when they're eleven aren't necessarily qualities that will stick with them their whole life." She didn't really like the idea of houses, for that reason and for others. You were stuck in a group of people who were to be your family for your entire school life. What if you didn't like them? Or didn't like your house? It just seemed like a flawed system to her, but it seemed like it had been working out so far. It had been around for a long time and nothing major had gone wrong.
Hayden couldn't help but giggle. Before they learn better? "Do you have something against Ravenclaw?"

Yes they DID. Not that Zahra CARED one bit anymore because she LOATHED THEM ENTIRELY back!
Blah blah blah words words words, no way to win. He'd already given up! SOME GRYFFINDOR HE WAS TURNING OUT TO BE!
"Tell me you have a better plan than leaving me here." Simple. Tell her that. Ready go, Toussaint.

Yep she was angry. Michael knew that she would be. She always got this way when she didn't get her own way. His father called her spoiled but he merely saw it as determination.
And he felt some of his anger begin to rekindle once again. Why should he go somewhere he didn't want to go? Just because his parents said that they were transferring him to Durmstrang didn't mean he had to go.
Michael narrowed his eyes at Zahra. "We'll make a run for it. Hideout somewhere." How he was going to hide from his parents and her parents, he had no idea. But he couldn't leave her. He wouldn't. "We could elope." It was crazy talk but he wanted to show Zahra that he would fight to the bitter end to stay with her.

Now that was more like it. Now he was thinking. Welcome back, Toussaint! Zahra scoooooted back his way and took that hug he'd been after earlier.
"What if we don't run at all? What's the safest place we know? Mostly safe, anyway. A fortress." Was he following her? "Hogwarts. Let's just stay. Hide out in the Room of Requirement? Or your dorm. We'll just have to be careful."
Zahra gave that ELOPING thing the look it deserved. Teehee. OF COURSE THEY COULD ELOPE. Maybe Peeves would do the ceremony.

It was nice to have her back within reach. Michael grinned as he wrapped his arms around her and he was not going to let her go again.
"I think it will have to be the Room of Requirement. I'm pretty sure they check the dorms." He gave her a squeeze and kissed the top of her head. "We'll have to be more than careful. This is going to take some planning." But the idea was an awesome one! He was already imagining the two of them roaming around the castle on their own.
"Just think...no Professors...no parents. Just the two of us."
I can't get her to talk! O_O Weirdest post ever, cuz usually she wont shut UP

Even if Professor B checked the dorms, SURELY they wouldn't kick them out! Zahra would just start shouting SANCTUARY and that would have to work. She was pretty that was exactly how it worked.
Though... in the back of Zahra's mind, like some weird and untapped region of her brain, there was this area of reasonableness that told Zahra they'd never get away with it. She was the Minister's daughter, and as Mikey said; neither of them were of age. She was going to cling to the idea anyway, until the end.
Maybe it was his hug that made the "plan" start to dissolve? Or maybe it was the "just the two of us"? Either way, Zahra started to cry. It was so uncharacteristic of her. She didn't CRY, but she was now, and it was stupid, and everyone was stupid, and Durmstrang was the stupidest of ALL!
And she's crying!! He doesn't know what to do with that

Zahra was being awfully quiet. Michael had been expecting her to come out with all these ideas of what they could do with a whole castle to themselves. But she wasn't saying anything at all and he pulled back a little so that he could look at her.
She was crying?
He hadn't seen Zahra cry for a very long time and it she only ever cried unless she had hurt herself. Michael didn't know what to say, seeing her cry like this made everything hurt. "Don't." He whispered as he placed a finger under her chin and tilted her head back. "Please don't cry Z. You know Gryffindors aren't supposed to cry." A small attempt at humour there in the hopes to make her smile.

"Then I'll just quit stupid Gryffindor," Zahra replied. "What good is it anyway without you here?" Really? They'd planned to be in the GREATEST HOUSE OF ALL TIME together, from the beginning. It didn't mean much without him to share with.
But crying was stupid and Zahra tried to stop. It didn't accomplish anything but sometimes... like now... it just happened. Zahra had a feeling it might happen a LOT more often now. She somewhat reigned the tears in, with lots of effort and some weird breathing.
"So Room of Requirement." Even knowing BOTH of their parents would tear Hogwarts down brick by brick to get to them, it was worth a shot. Maybe, if for nothing else, to prove a point. "We'll need to stock up on muffins." To eat. Because Zahra liked those and wasn't sure the ROOM would think MUFFINS were a requirement. She wiped her snotty nose on her sleeve and never really met Mikey's eyes again.

Hayden couldn't help but giggle. Before they learn better? "Do you have something against Ravenclaw?"
Lex gave a small shrug. "I thought I did and I guess I still do?" She said, dropping her marker in favour of another to colour in the barrels themselves. "Choosing's just not as simple as when I was 12 and determined to be an Auror one day." She'd known it was one of the things she'd wanted for the longest while but then her Grandparents happened and the black and white turned to grey.
Hayden was a perceptive little one. Lex had figured that through their conversation thus far and gave a small nod at her statement. "People do change but your motivations rarely do. That's what really does it at the end of the day. What drives you. Take Gryffindor for instance; daring, nerve, chilvalry. Our motivation for a lot of things. We could be working at the same thing as Slytherin's but the motivation and how we go about getting it done will never be the same." It was something inbred. The way you ticked. "I know what drives me and I'll admit it's not always a Gryffindor thought but the way I go about doing it makes me Gryffindor." She wasn't sure how much sense she was making, but it was the way she saw it and she'd never been good with words anyway. It was always easier showing through actions.
"I have everything against Ravenclaw." Lex confirmed with the widest of grins. "Dumbest blokes I've ever been forced to associate with." With a few obvious exceptions of course. The rest could go read themselves into oblivion or whatever it was they did.

"I thought we had established that I wasn't going anywhere?" Who was giving up now, eh Kettleburn?
Why had no one ever told him how much a breaking heart hurt? It was a though an invisible fist had driven a hole right through his chest and was crushing his heart into tiny little pieces. How many times had they laughed at other couples and their problems and said that would never happen to them? And now he was standing here feeling as though his whole world was falling apart.
Michael loosened his hold on her a little, because even though they were making plans to hideout together, they both knew that deep down it wasn't going to happen and so he readied himself for that inevitable separation.
"Definitely muffins." He agreed. "And cauldron cakes." Because he really liked those. Michael brushed his hand down her back. "Zahra...?"

"I was just saying...," Zahra mumbled, but she knew, she knew. It just didn't help much, now that she'd had a second or two to think about it. Even if they made this Room of Requirement thing work, they couldn't camp out there FOREVER! Eventually, someone would turn them over to their parents.
But she was NOT having him letting her GO. WHAT WAS THAT? NO. Zahra moved in closer to make up for his loose arms.
"... what?" she asked, basically INTO the lining of his coat. SHe was thinking about getting IN his coat and zipping herself in and THEN WHAT, STUPID PARENTS? THEN WHAT? She'd just have to go WITH him then!

.... yeah the tears were back. Sigh. Stupid.
If they'd both had normal parents then they might have gotten away with their little hideout plan, but of course they didn't and all this Room of Requirement talk was just wishful thinking. He was happy to keep up the pretence of staying though.
Zahra was snuggling into him again which made Michael happy once more so he tightened his hold on her and rested his chin on top of her head. How was he going to survive without her? They had never been apart since they were babies.
He could tell that she was crying again and he squeezed his eyes shut doing his best not to cry himself but a couple of tears did manage to slip through his closed eyelids.
