The Snakes sit under a brand new silver and green banner representing their house. Their solid, shiny wooden table is nicely polished with all the place settings perfectly set. It was once said that the Hogwarts House Elves are the best in the world. It is up to your stomach to agree... but surely it will! Why wouldn't it like elf cooking?
If you're thirsty, there is also fresh pumpkin juice and water on the table, regardless of whether or not it is actually mealtime.
Beverly raised an eyebrow at him, more amused at what he had called her. It was Cutty Mordaunt, she'd let it slide. Besides, she was FIRST in whatever line he had designed. It's all that mattered. "I'm not a very patient person, Cutty Mordaunt," she said, smirking a bit as her gaze fell back on the sweets.
Following the pyramid-shaped box as he set it down, Beverly snapped her eyes back up a him when he announced the prize. "I should get a discount for advising you," she muttered, patting her pockets. Oh, right. Beverly Wayne didn't carry money around with her. Why would she?
Reaching for her earlobe, she unclasped a tiny golden owl earring, it's eyes minuscule rubies. She placed it on his greedy little palm. "This'll do until I get you money." Because she wanted sweets now and so she could share a few with Jeremiah when she saw him. He'd like these.
He returned her smirk with one of his own. He knew damn well Beverly wasn't patient, although she had her moments. Those moments did not tend to include sweets, however and so his intention must have been to do the preliminary tease. His smirk momentarily faded into an unimpressed grin when she mentioned a discount.
Then she was handing over little gold owls with their shining ruby eyes and all was right with the world again. He'd see about that discount, but for now, all he said was...
"Take your fill, Wayne."
Then he could head off to their next class. He was eager to get away from all the holly-jolly ugh that the season brought on in the great hall.

After being turned down by a couple of students whom he had asked to help him out and try some of his crêpes, Simon took a leaned against the stone wall and sighed. He needed someone to try them or otherwise he wasn't going to be able to get credit for the assignment. He looked down at his magnificent crêpes that were beautifully covered in sugar and lemon juice. He eyed the space around him. Would the Professor mind if he tried them and then reported on it?
No. NO.
Simon couldn't do that. That would be cheating. And cheating was necessary in some cases bad. So the blue-eyed boy wandered over to his house table and looked around anxiously. He fidgeted nervously. He looked around and crossed his fingers, hoping that someone would come over. Professor Fuller perhaps?

She caught that look he gave her at her comment about the discount. Beverly wasn't joking and was totally serious about it, so she she just raised an eyebrow, her smirk unwavering. He should really think about it.
Plucking the Chocolate Sphinxes and Rainbow Serpent gums from the table line-up, she grinned at him as if she'd just won something. "I'll be taking these."
Business, this is how you did it.
Glancing around, she pushed some hair behind her ear. "I've had enough of this jolly...stuff." For a lack of a better word. Then she stood up and poked him in the arm. "Thanks, Mordaunt."

Hungry. He was HUNGRY.
That was the reason he was sauntering into the great hall that day, still tucked into his coat and scarf because it was cold INSIDE, too. He stuffed his hands and his pockets as he passed by the slytherin table. He noticed a familiar face and was just going to give the boy a nod or a "hi" or a pat on the shoulder, but.... he had food. GOOD looking food that didn't look like it was made by houselves.
"Heeey there, Simon. Whatcha got there?" He was just, uh, passing through. Yup.

Oh hey there stranger! It was Professor Fuller to the rescue. Simon was glad to see his Charms Professor. "Hi Professor Fuller! How's it going?" he asked. He had not expected to see the cool Charms Professor at the Slytherin table today. And Fuller remembered his name! --he felt so loved! A feeling of happiness surged throughout his body and he beamed. He liked the Professors here. They were all really good at remembering students' names. "It's my Ancient Runes homework," he explained. "We had to make some food one using the rune Kenaz and one the ordinary way of doing so. I made crêpes with lemon and sugar. " He paused for a second.
WAIT. Piersie could try his crêpes and let him know which one tasted better or different. "Would you like to try the crêpes to see how they taste?" he asked as he picked up one of the plates.

Oh, it was homework. Homework food was always interesting, but those skinny pancake things looked REAL GOOD. Fuller stepped closer to the plate to inspect them, just as Simon asked if he wanted to try them.
Well. It was for HOMEWORK, how could he say no?! Refuse the child a passing grade?!?!
"Sure, why not?" If he INSISTED. Heh. Fuller took the plate and plopped down on the bench, setting the crepes back on the table. He picked up a clean fork, and dug right in before shoving a big bite into his mouth.
"MMMMmmmmm," he hummed pleasantly, savoring the sweet and lemony crepes. He swallowed the bite down with a satisfied sigh. "You've got quite the cooking skills. Or runes skills, I should say." He wanted to eat the WHOLE plate.

Simon took a seat next to the Charms Professor and anxiously watched the Professor eat the crêpes. His heart beat raced as he desperately wanted to know what Fuller thought. Also, he didn't want the poor man to fall over and die upon eating them. That'd be very, very, very bad. He'd have to explain it all to Professor Botros and it'd get way too messy. As Fuller continued to chew, the anxiety and nerves inside Simon built up. What if Fuller hated them? What if they were the worst crêpes that he'd ever eaten!? He bit his lip. Merlin, he assumed that this is what those poor chefs must have felt on shows like Top Chef and Hell's Kitchen.
And the verdict was......
He liked them.
Fuller liked the crêpes.
Yipeeeee!
Simon could've thrown his hands up into the air and done a little victory dance right then, but he didn't because that wouldn't be cool. Nu-uh. Simon was a Slytherin. Slytherin's didn't burst out into random songs all of a sudden in the Great Hall... He grinned when Fuller had picked up that the crêpe that he had given to him was the one made with the Kenaz runestone. "Thank you, sir," he said. Then he nodded. Fuller was right. He had tried the one with the Kenaz runestone first. "That one was made with the rune. I thought it made the crêpe more flavourful, you know?" he said becoming really excited about the topic of cooking. Cooking was his passion. He picked up the second plate. "Now tell me what you think of this one! Same recipe, lemon juice, and sugar. All that's different is that it was cooked the normal way on a stove."

Oh, this was the rune one. Yeah, it was tasty. He nodded in agreement, but honestly he was just grateful to eat food that he didn't have to work for, bwahaha.
And he got to try the OTHER one, too. Heh. "If you insist," the Charms professor said, before digging his fork into the other crepe that was made on a stove. He took a couple bites and nodded some more. "Yes, very good." That's it. He was probably the most UNpicky eater, ever. If it was food, he'd eat it, sooo yeah, it was good. Heh.
"You're quite the chef, Simon." Could he eat the whole thing?

Oh yes," he said. Simon nodded. Oh yes, he insisted. He insisted very much so. This was in the name of homework after all, was it not? He watched as the Professor took a couple of bites. It looked like Fuller was enjoying it which was a good sign.
He was quite the chef?
Hearing that from Fuller made the young boy beam. He sort of really really did look up to the cool Charms Professor as an awesome role model. One day, he wanted to be as awesome as Fuller and Flamsteed combined. Oh yes. He grinned. "Thanks Professor, if you want more. There's plenty in here," he explained. He had made extra just in case he needed more people to judge his crêpes.
"So how are you, Professor Fuller?" he asked as his blue eyes wandered the room and then back at the crêpes.
The air outside has certainly made its frosty presence known, seeping through minute cracks in the castle that were previously undiscovered by wind, rain, or creature. The enchanted ceiling has lately reflected this turn of events via constantly dim, gray cloud cover. But there seems to be a difference this evening as the dinner rush begins and a strange, cold dust accumulates on tables, benches, floor, and even heads. Could those be..? Surely not... Are those really SNOWFLAKES?!

It is officially snowing inside Hogwarts.
After a long day of studying and avoiding the persistent cold that seemed to be seeping into the castle (she still believed that the answer was insulation), Layla was starving. Luckily, it was time for dinner, so she made her way up from the common room to the Great Hall, still musing over a tough Arithmancy problem that seemed impossible to solve. Musing so much, that she didn't even notice the snow falling inside. Until, that is she had been sitting a couple of minutes and was about to reach for a fried chicken leg and felt the cold, wet stuff seeping through the layers of jeans, leggings and a flannel onesie she had thrown on that morning.
"What on Earth........?!" Her first thought was that someone had spilled something without stopping to clean up after themselves, but when she stood to look, she saw what it was. And that it seemed to be falling all around the room.
"Uh, who charmed it to snow in here?" Prank not funny, person/people!

If it was upto Charlie, the house elves would be delivering food to their Common Rooms, right by the fire. Maybe even upto their dorms, like breakfast in bed, but lunch and dinner, too. Snowing inside was totally unacceptable, but begrudgingly she pulled her hood around her face and ducked into the Entrance to the Great Hall.
Her plan was to grab some portable lunch, and get gone. Gone before her food ended up with snow in it or snow ended up in her hair or she got any colder than she already was. Yes, she could have gone down to the kitchens, but she was using her mission to look for Vinnie, too - hence why she started for the Slytherin table, and not her own blue clad one.

Vinnie really needed some food. She didnt know staying in bed and reading could make so hungry. but there she was. It reallllly wasnt cool to get out right now, cause it was freeeeeezing and snowing in the castle. INSIDE THE CASTLE. Why....
Pulling her hood up the brunette made her way across the entrance hall and into the great hall. Of course she could have gone to the kitchens but they were overcrowded these days and she really didnt want to deal with this right now.
Popping in the girl made herway to the Slytherin table immediately. What would she eat? Rice pudding? Fruit? Maybe even a bruger? Burgers were always the right choice.
But then she saw her....Charlie. Charlie was at the Snakes table? A huge grin spread on Vinnies face as she plopped down next to her soul sister. "Hello gorgeous, how do we come to this honour?"

Eyes roaming over the table, Charlie's brows lifted slightly as they fell on a bowl of fruit. That would do. Fruit could work because she could just brush the tiny dusting of snow off and it would be fine. No soup for her today, not that it even looked like there was any out. Reaching forward for a banana, she slid into the seat, thinking that while she still couldn't quite make up her mind and she had her hood up, she might as well sit.
You never know, she might also get lucky and -
have Vin walk in. Charlie grinned, thought finishing in her head as she heard the younger girls voice. "Hi, sweets. I was looking for you." Hence being sat by all the green, when obviously blue was her best colour.

Looking around the table for some food Vinnie was kinda disappointed all the snow had settled down on the goodies and soaked it....even the porridge looked soggy. Well then, an apple would have to do. "You were looking for me?", the brunette grinned as she bit into her apple," whats up?"
That explained why Charlie was sitting at the green table instead of the blue, such a thoughtful girl. All Vinnie wanted to do now was go home with her and have sleep overs in each others rooms. This winter in summer thing was getting on her nerves.

As Vinnie began to eat her apple, Charlie pushed her hood back slightly, so as better to see the Slytherin. "Yes, I was looking for you," she repeated with a grin, patting the seat next to her, before beginning to peel her fruit. "I want sleepovers, and midnight chats, and things." Which they couldn't do now, because Common Rooms and curfew.
"But I think this summer's going to be more sleepovers and visits than full time stays."
Which, obviously, sucked a little bit. Over the last year or so, Charlie had gotten used to being around the other girl, grown to regard her as a sister, alongside the two she already had.

Taking another bite of her apple Vinnie moved closer to her friend and smiled. It was always nice to have her around and it made the girl feel soo god that Charlie would go out of her way just to look for her. "Oh my god that sounds sooooo good", she nodded happily," we need loads of sleepovers and midnight chats and cake dough fights." Of course they couldnt forget about cake dough fights. Eep.
Visits? What did she mean?....Eyeing her sister from another mister for a few seconds the Slytherin blinked."where are you gonna be?" Was she gonna be with Tristan? Well obviously Vinnie would be happy for Charlie but it still sucked.
The fifth year had gotten so used to having her around whenever she wanted over the holidays that it would be hard to get used to it being the other way around.
Beverly could feel her grumpiness making an appearance. Just now upon entering the Great Hall, a first year bumped into her and she about chewed his head off. Poor firstie. But it was HIS fault for getting in her way.
Tying her hair up into a ponytail Beverly eyed her next target. The Slytherin table. Eating was one of her favorite things to do. Meals were her favorite time of the day. But with the decreasing temperatures food didn't last warm as long as it used to. So, making her way toward the center of the table, where she usually sat, Beverly cleared the table from food and dishes and anything else, and aimed her wand at it.
You will stay warm again, table. Her food will stay warm and tasty. Yes.
"Caelum Saepio!" Figure eight wand movement. And again. "Caelum Saepio!" Beverly repeated it several more times to make sure she had it done right.
Blowing slightly at the fog, she was pleased with the result. Hopefully the table would retain its warmth.

A third strand of drool flowed onto Rickey Hampton’s potions textbook causing a paragraph detailing the uses of Boomslang venom to become a bit more smeared and difficult to read. At his 36th hour without sleep, Rickey had finally succumbed to his extreme exhaustion as he sat amongst his fellow Slytherin in the Great Hall. The fifth year was failing all but one of his classes, Arithmancy, and was doing the best he could to catch up on five years worth of learning in preparation for the most important exams of his academic career thus far: his OWLs.
Needless to say, he was doomed. He didn’t care though.
His brown, bloodshot eyes blinked to life as the temperature of the wooden table upon which both of his arms were resting rose significantly. Everything began to make a bit more sense when he heard the words “Caelum Saepio” being uttered by a girl a few meters away. His eyes considered her as his left hand lost itself in a mountain of brown hair in an attempt to itch his scalp. She did seem to be rather decent at charms. Ideas began to flow through his menacing brain.
“Hey you,” Rickey said, pointing at the girl. “Come here for a bit would ya?” With a bit of luck and a lot of sweet-talking, Rickey figured he might have found a way to pass his charms practical.

Jonas walked into the great hall after a long day of lessons. He was glas the term was almost over. Though, he also felt lonely. For the past four years, he didn't make a single friend. He was going to be a fifth year and friendless next year if he kept this up. Then again, it was partly his parent's fault. They expected exceeds expectations in everything that Jonas did. So he never had time for friends. Looking at it now, he was a bit angry at his parents. They always expected beyond what Jonas was capable of. They were never satisfied with just average. He sighed and sat at the Slytherin table. He looked around and was already too late. Unless someone new came in and sat down, he was stuck by his self again, sense everyone else was in their own conversations. Deciding that this was a wasted time to make any friends, he decided he would exit the great hall. He wasn't really hungry anyways. Alright, off to somewhere else.
