Well, he can’t find Simon at the moment, and wished he could cast a Patronus already to summon his friend. Why? Because BACON SANDWICH NEEDS TO BE JUDGED PRONTO. Why? Because it is BACON. Lovely…lovely, yummy bacon.

Ethan settled in one of the comfy armchairs in between his bed and Simon’s, and set the two plates on his bed. The boy took out a piece of parchment and wrote something in it, then placed his parchment tent on Simon’s bed too.

He threw his satchel on his own bed, sat back on the armchair with his hands in a steeple position and placed it underneath his chin. Sighing, he crossed his legs and closed his eyes to take a nap. He needs to recharge since he will be pulling an all-nighter tonight to finish his Ancient Runes Homework.

With his crêpes in hand, Simon dashed into the boys dormitory. Mmmmm.. Something smelt really good. Was that bacon he smelt? He hoped it was. He LOVED bacon. Everything tasted better with bacon cause it was bacon.

He was supposed to be meeting Ethan so that they could judge each other's works for Ancient Runes homework. When he made it into the dorm room, he found Ethan napping on the armchair between their beds. Simon smirked, tip toed past his friend and quickly set up his crêpes in two piles (one with Kenaz and the one without) on his own bed.

Everything was set up and they were ready to start the next stage of their homework. Simon gently nudged his friend. "Rise and shine. Time to eat some delicious food."

Ethan felt the nudge and groaned to acknowledge Simon. “I’m in my mind palace right now, Watson. Five minutes.” Well, it was a lie, he was rather getting sleepy, or rather sleeping already because of exhaustion due to all the piled up homework they got, and that he hadn’t got any decent sleep since…well, school work was thrown at them from every direction. He didn’t need to consume his requested five minutes, rather, he took a peek with a single eye, his hands still in a steeple position under his chin.

And…what does exactly Simon Watson got?

Is that…dessert?

Ethan’s eyes flew open and approached Simon’s bed. It looked like they were going to have a party of some sort, yeah? And…MERLIN. Are those, crepes? And that they have bacon sandwiches! Wowzers! “Very well then. Let me,” he said as he got his wand out and pointed at the first plate of his bacon sandwich. “Diffindo!” he did the same with the second plate, splitting the two sandwiches into half. Ethan didn’t waste any more time and offered the food to his friend.

Main course first, yeah?

After Simon got one half of the sandwich from each plate, Ethan got his portion too and tasted it. See if the two of them will come up with the same observation.

Simon quirked his right eyebrow. Watson, eh? That nickname was starting to get rather catchy and so was this inevitable bromance. Simon sighed and then pulled out his Arithmancy textbook for a minute and started to flip through the sections that they had read during class. Meh. Boring. The class was all gibberish to him anyway. A couple minutes later, he closed his book and set it on his bedside table.

Then all of a sudden, Ethan Holmes had sprung to life rather quickly- almost so quickly that Simon could have fallen off the armchair and onto the hard floor. With the sandwich from the first plate in his hand, he eyed it hungrily. "Ah, main course first. Thanks Holmes," he said with a grin as he took a moment to appreciate the smells coming out of the sandwich. BACON. BAAAAACCCCOOON! he thought and was enjoying the whole experience of smelling the sandwich when his stomach grumbled. Without further ado, he took a rather large bite of the sandwich.

"This tastes... AMAZING. The bacon.. The bacon is perfect," he said. The bacon was to die for. Seriously, Simon could have started tearing up in the dorm room for how perfect it was. He continued to chew. This sandwich was still hot and juicy. He could taste...charcoal? He blinked. Yes, charcoal was there- but maybe that was Ethan's intention. It was still amazing. He finished the sandwich rather quickly and then moved on to the second plate.

“Cheers, Watson.” he said as he raised his piece and started to eat.

Chomp.

He was lost…he can seriously hear angels singing as he chewed on his sandwich. GLORIOUS BACON SANDWICH. He had to take note in between his reverie that this sandwich was the one he cooked with the Kenaz fire. Yes, yes. Too good. TOO PERFECT. What’s actually weird is that he can’t even come up with cooked bacon THIS perfect. So yes, all thanks to the Kenaz rune. The weird chanting paid off.

Chew…chew, chew.

And just like that…the music in his head stopped as he consumed his first piece. Ethan blinked and eyed the second plate. “Now…let’s try this one.” He got the plate off the bed and offered it to Simon. “To the bacon gods!” Again, he raised his portion as if to toast, then began to eat.

Chomp chomp chomp.

Simon chuckled as he took the next sandwich. "To the wondrous bacon gods who gave us delicious bacon!" he exclaimed and then took a bite of the next sandwich. Hmmmm.... he thought as he continued to chew. He didn't know what to think about this one. The bacon was delicious but it wasn't the same. In this sandwich, the bacon lacked the intense juiciness and flavour that it had displayed in the other one so nicely. It was a rather disappointing sandwich. He continued chewing.

"This one was okay, but it lacked the intense combination of flavour and juciness. I felt as if it was missing something. I preferred sandwich one," he said honestly as he made his critique as if they were on some muggle TV show like Top Chef or something of that nature.

He finished up his sandwich and started getting out his homework. He cut the crêpes in half and held out the first plate towards Ethan. "Ready for desert?"

Simon is right. It did lack something, but it was still yummy and edible and stuff. Merlin, it’s bacon okay? So it still is delicious. Ethan nodded as he popped the last bite into his mouth, closed his eyes and did a conducting movement with his fingers. He can still hear glorious music after all as he chewed and swallowed the remaining edible goodness invented by man.

Next was Simon’s creation. Now this should be good, no? Well, he cooks so Ethan was expecting that both samples will pass his palate. But then again, was there a time that he didn’t enjoy food? Professor Hadley’s weird mix of meat and jelly slugs on her pizza was surprisingly yummy. Did he know?

Anyway, Ethan nodded and watched his fellow Slytherin cut his crepes into two and accepted his share.

Sniff, sniff. Now is his turn to be in a detective mode.

“The smell is good. Very good, in fact it’s making me slowly forget that I just had bacon a few seconds ago.” Ethan then held the plate up to his eye level and inspected the crepe’s color and texture. “This looks like it came from a muggle television advertisement. Are you sure you made this, Watson?” Ethan had his eyebrow comically raised, pretending to be his favourite detective. “We shall see then.” Chomp.

Nomnomnomnom.

“Merlin’s Holy FAWKES. SIMON!” Nomnomnomnom. Ethan forgot about the bacon and placed his plate down to shake Simon’s shoulders. “You can make galleons out of this! This. This is perfect!” He got back to his plate and continued to eat his share. “Soft, fluffy…and the sweetness is just right. It is very balanced.” As soon as he was done with the crepe, he gave Simon another suspicious look. “You didn’t sneak Mrs. Hudson inside the castle, did you?”

Ahem. Second Plate please!

"If you want, I suppose that I can show you the top secret recipie, Holmes," he chuckled and then became all serious because judging food was a serious business. Mhmm.. Simon watched Ethan anxiously. He wanted to see his reaction to the crêpes, he wanted to know what Ethan thought of them. They seemed edible and smelt really good so he crossed his fingers and watched his friend's face for his reaction. He would not take a bite until Ethan told him how it was.

It was good?

Ethan liked them. He liked them a lot. Hooray. Simon took a bite of his half of the crêpe. Mhmmm.. Fluffy and light. The Kenaz runestone was the perfect way to make delicious food. And Mmmm... Lemon and sugar always were a nice pairing with crêpes. He'd have to make more later. "I think at this rate we should open our own shop. Bacon sandwiches and crêpes. It'll be a sell out," he exclaimed. With food as good as this, they'd have quite the turnout. He demolished his crêpe quickly and then picked up the second plate that had raspberries on the side (a way of telling which one was which). "Round two." He held out the plate towards Ethan.

Simon, what are you doing to this boy?

“Did you know that I actually like being fed?” So if you want to cheer up this kid, you know what to do. “…bacon is my favourite. I think you should note it down.” Hehehehe. Anyway, ooooooh. Second plate. Ethan got the second one and examined it just like the first.

Nope, he will not be distracted by raspberries.

RASPBERRIES!

Keeping a straight face, he went on to do his observation. But Merlin, those raspberries on the side! Ahem. “This looks the same as the first one…but ye got a little something going on right there.” He pointed out the obvious as he poked the raspberries. Sniff, sniff, snifffffff. “This smells good too, but…” he trailed off as he got a piece, “…the taste might be different.”

Chomp.

Nomnomnom. “You know what Simon, I commend you for being a good cook. I’m not sure if this is the Kenaz fire or the normal one.” He said as he swallowed his food and took another bite. “…the taste is goooooood my friend. However! The texture of this one…it’s not as…good as the first. No offence, Chef Watson.” Chefs tend to be very touchy when it comes to their creations, no? “The raspberries though…it’s a win!” After finishing his crepe, he plopped the fruit inside his mouth and nommed happily. “I really wish all of our lessons involved food.” As for the shop. “I wonder if Hogwarts got any…food fair thingamajig every year? We can have our own booth, and gain GALLEONS, my friend.” It’s true. And if they get to use the Kenaz fire to cook their food, nothing can go wrong.

“Thank you!” Ethan gave back Simon’s plate and sat back on his armchair lazily. “Merlin, I still got lots to do tonight and I’m getting sleepy.” Oh yes. Student life.

Was Ethan a mind reader?

Simon could have sworn so. Bacon was Simon's favourite food in the world too. Bacon always tasted good with everything. Well... almost everything. He hadn't tried chocolate and bacon. That combination was too weird for the young foodie. "Note made, Holmes. Now hurry up and eat the crêpe before it gets too cold!" chided the mother hen Simon. Picking up the other crêpe, Simon demolished his quickly.

Omnomnomnomnomnom.

He didn't know how he felt about this one. The texture was off and the flavours were a little bit strange too. They weren't as intense as the other one. Simon raised his hands up into the air. "None taken. I made the same deductions about this one. It wasn't as fluffy or as light as the other one. It was really disappointing," he said frowning. Note to self: make food with Kenaz runestones from now on. It tastes sooo much better. Simon paused when Ethan talked about the possibility of a 'food fair thingamajig'. He didn't know whether Hogwarts had one, but if they did, Ethan and him would be one of the best places around the castle! Bacon and crêpes. You couldn't go wrong with either one of those.. BACON CRÊPES... What would they taste like?

He got side-tracked again.
Over-active minds, man. Not very helpful.

"I don't know, but if not, maybe we could talk to the Professors about starting one. It would be rather enjoyable," he said. Plus, if they gave them extra points for doing so then that would be SPECTACULAR!

Simon chuckled when Ethan passed the plate and then went back to his snoozing. "You work on your napping. I'm going to wash these plates and then finish this assignment," he said as he pulled out his wand and cleaned them with a charm.

"Kebabs! Get your fresh, hot kebabs! First come, first served! Limited supply! You know you want some!"

Jeez, he sounded like a sale person.

But he needed to get someone to try this so, he was wandering around here. The Slytherin boy's dorms. His initial person to go to would have been one Alexa Cambridge but since she could either be in the Gryffindor common room or the Prefect's bathroom -- the passwords of which he didn't know -- that plan had been hexed in the face. He also didn't know where one Sophie Newell was either.

So where were other cool people? Here, of course!

Grayson continued walking down the corridor to the dorms when..........

................... oh? It was the third boys dorms and look who was here!

"YO!" he said, grinning at the sight of Ethan and Simon and moving further into the room. SURELY, they wouldn't mind, yes? 'Course not. "You two hungry for some deeeeeeeeeeelicious kebabs?" he asked, holding out the plate, which consisted of four skewers, two on one side and two on the other. "If so, take one from each side!" And his ego wanted to know just how brilliant these were, thank you.

Ethan had sat back on his armchair, hands in steeple position underneath his chin, his eyes sloooooooowly closing. Merlin. Those bacon sandwiches and crepes were so good, and it wasn’t helping his laziness. He needs to stay up for the rest of the night because he still got Muggle Studies and History of Magic stuff to do.

He’s just glad that one Simon Holden was cleaning up their mess because he really can’t keep his eyes open.

What in the name of FOOD was that? WHO is SHOUTING??! Why, of all time would this person SHOUT when he’s about to NAP?!

REALLY! The nerve—Oh. OOOH! IT’S GRAYSON AND HE’S GOT FREE FOOD!

THIS. This woke up one Ethan Sherlock Holmes.

Sniff sniff.

“As long as it’s free, my friend. I’m up for it!” Then a pause. “What’s it made of?” Because you know…ahem. He needs to know that tiny bit of information.

After Simon had finished cleaning up the area, he sat down on his bed and took a moment to relax. But his relaxation was disrupted by a booming voice. The voice nearly caused the boy to fall off his bed but he caught onto his trunk so he didn't land onto the floor. Readjusting himself back onto the bed, he glanced up and saw Grayson standing there. "Oh, hey Grayson! What's up?" he asked.

What was he holding? wondered the boy as he squinted his eyes, trying to see what Grayson had got. Were those kebabs? Simon grinned. Ooh boy. Those looked really, really, really good.

"Kebabs?" repeated Simon as he grinned. Despite having eaten a sandwich and a crêpe, the boy was still hungry. "Sure, I'd love to. I'm always hungry for some great smelling food."

It smelt really, really, really good.

Had he disturbed them from their nap and cleaning?

LOL. Oops.

He had FOOD. Nobody could say no to some of that and these two weren't an exception, it seemed. This made Grayson smirk ever so slightly. GOOD. He kinda needed to get this piece of homework done. What was up? WELL. Homework. But he couldn't exactly say just yet otherwise they'll know that two of the kebab skewers were made using the Kenaz rune. "Kebabs!" he said, nodding his head. That's what was up.

As for what it's made of, the fourth year turned to look at Ethan. "It has some chicken in it anddddd veggies. Mainly peppers. They taste better with the meat, I think." It was better to make it seem like he knew what he was talking about. "Don't worry, they're not poisoned." Snort.

No really, they weren't.

"Thanks, Simon! I bet they taste good too." Just saying. Eyebrow wiggle.

You know what? They have to start keeping tabs on what they're eating, because Grayson did mention something about the food being tainted.

Yes, yes. They really should, but hey. He's a fellow Slytherin and he won't do that, right? Besides, ever since the Ancient Runes Homework was posted, food was aplenty, left and right. It's a good thing that this boy's stomach is made of steel.

But enough about that! FOOD and...KEBABS! For a moment there, he was reminded of his Arithmancy homework and whether or not his answers made sense. Hopefully it did, and that Professor Lola would give him full credit for it.

BUT WHAT IS THIS? Why is he sooo distracted lately?

Ah yes. Lack of sleep.

ANYWAY, MERLIN. KEBABS! "Well, Cloud Master. If you came here sooner, we would've offered you free food too. Bacon sandwiches and crepes, but ALAS. Poof, they're gone." he said as he patted his tummy and got himself a stick of chicken and veggie kebab.

CHOMP. Nomnomnom.

Grayson can cook! "This is good, Mr. Whitlock!" he said as he gave his fellow Slytherin an okay sign. ".....the chicken's really flavorful! And the veggies' cooked really well." Ahem. Do you have more?

As soon as Grayson told them not to worry because the food wasn't poisoned, Simon raised a skeptical eyebrow. Sure, cause that's what someone would tell them if they were poisoned. Uh-huh.

Buuuuutt... food was food. Simon wasn't going to turn down free food. He'd have to be sick to do that. Also he was pretty certain that Grayson wouldn't poison either Ethan or him because they all liked dragons. Friendships could be based off that sole fact because dragons were just that awesome.

He nodded and then picked up one of the chicken and veggie kebabs. Simon took a bite of the kebab and his blue eyes widended. Merlin, they'd have to get Grayson to come join their little station that they were going to start up around Hogwarts. Bacon sandwiches, kebabs, and crêpes. All together, they'd make an immense fortune. He could see it already. The three of them outside in the Grounds in spring (if spring ever came) with a waiting line that almost was at the Forbidden Forest. Heh. That would be awesome. He took several more bites, savoring each morsel immensely.

When he was finished, Simon gave his friend a thumb's up. These were really, really good. "Those were delicious. Awesome job. As Ethan said, the chicken and veggies were flavourful. Plus, the chicken wasn't dry," he began and then a smirk played upon his lips. He glanced over towards Ethan. "You should join Ethan and I when we start our food company around the castle. We have bacon sandwiches and crêpes already, but with your knockout kebabs we'd be a hit!" He nodded.

That sceptical look. DID they think it was poisoned? LOL. LOOOOOOOOOOL.

Besides, would he do that to friends? NO. That kind of pranks should be left to people who annoyed you because that was the BEST way to get one up on them. Just saying.

Er, he would have gotten free food too? MAN, he KNEW he shouldn't have taken so long in going from the kitchen to the Workshop. FREAKING FREE FOOD. "Merlin, I wish I came earlier. Nobody can say no to free food!" There was a rule to all of this. You just don't say no, unless it really was tainted. And who was the fancy person here who could make crepes, eh?

The reaction from the kebabs? PRICELESS.

Grayson was actually grinning -- what? It happened -- as he looked between them. Flavourful, cooked well, chicken's not dry. BRILLIANT. He was going to have to remember that and then boast as much as he could about it when he handed his homework in. "Thank you! I'll have to let Botros know about this," he said, before turning the plate a little, "Take the last two and guess which one was made using a normal fire and which with the Kenaz rune." Which was a sign that this was for a piece of homework.

Besides, it would be interesting to see whether they knew that they had tried the Kenaz rune one first. Flavourful indeed.

Wait, what? "A food company? You serious?" he asked, his eyes wide in amazement, "Freaking YES! Bacon sandwiches, crepes and kebabs. People are going to love it!" And they were going to be making some gold with this. Who could say no to that?

Talk. More talking? No, they should be eating MOAR.

Ethan kept on chewing as he looked on Simon and Grayson. He did however, pointed at Grayson with his stick and nodded when he said something about saying NO to FREE FOOD. Free food is just...you can't say no to it, simple as that. Why? They are growing boys for Fawkes' sake, but they need to be careful. Uh-huh. He'd have to screen though, as to who he'd be accepting free food offers.

You know what, Grayson? The kebabs are great, so onto the second set!

Ethan got one stick from the other plate and NOMS.

Mhmmmmmm. "This one's still...yummy, but it lacks the juice." What did Simon say earlier? Not dry, yeah? "This one's a bit dry." So there! Nonetheless, Ethan kept on eating the kebab like a hungry beast. "I like it when people cook for me."

Hehehehe.

Simon nodded enthusiastically. "'Course! It'd be a blast. We'd be a sellout," he explained. Plus Grayson would bring all the girls. Mhmm... Their mate was a ladies man. People will love it. Simon thought that perhaps they should start working on the plans for the company ASAP. What were they going to call it? What colour would their stand be? Well obviously green. That one was a very easy question.

He eyed the next kebab. It looked like the other one and smelt like the other one too. He took a bite. But it did not taste like the first one.

After eating the second one, Simon scrunched up his nose. The meat had been so dry and not flavourful. It had a very, very strange texture. He nodded in agreement with Ethan. Yep. Yep. "I don't know I how feel about this one. It's still good but the meat is kind of bland and dry. It also has a very strange texture," he explained. "Still pretty good though. Was the first one the one made with the Kenaz runestone?"
