Sixth Floor Corridor
|
MY RACHEL <3 ( Kita, ahem. ) Delilah slowly walked down the sixth floor corridor, her hands tucked in the pockets of her jacket. She wasn't exactly sure why she was hanging out in an empty corridor alone but it felt good. The silence. The grounds were crowded most of the time and the common room was almost always noisy.. the girl kind of wanted some time to herself, really. She needed time to think about things. Figure out what she wanted.. and this was the perfect spot. After a little while Delilah sat down, leaning against the wall and pulling her legs close to her chest. She rested her head on her knees and sighed softly. Oh, this felt nice. |

The fourth year was walking by, his head bopping along to a song that was stuck in his head. Occasionally, if it was quiet enough, a few words of the song were quietly mumbled out. When he reached the sixth floor, he didn't know but the boy decided to head off into the corridor and wander around some more. Get a feel of the place some more and possibly find someone to annoy. And then he heard it. A sigh. He stopped immediately, coming to his immediate senses. There were one of two things he could do: console the crybaby that was crying their heart out and make them feel instantly better by his aaaaaaaaaamazing company OR leave them be. Consoling someone did NOT sound like something he could do. Why should he offer his shoulder for an unknown person, anyways? Besides this could be someone who was just looking for sympathy. And who was this damsel in distress? The not-so-flirty blondie. This should be fun. "Are you trying to trip me up this time?" he asked, once he had approached her and taken a seat on the floor next to her. |
Quote:
BLINK. Seriously? This rude dude? Why was he sitting next to her? Honestly, she just didn't have the patience to deal with him right now. Meh. The girl sighed once more and rubbed at her eyes tiredly. "No. Not really. Why are you even here?" Y'know, shouldn't he be busy annoying someone right now? |
Quote:
'Why are you even here?' EXCUSE. YOU. This.......... THIS was what he got for being so nice??? It just wasn't freaking fair. This didn't happen OFTEN, you know. Couldn't people just appreciate it and move on? Maybe be a bit grateful? He wasn't asking for MUCH. HMPH. Regardless, he still shrugged and responded with, "I was just wandering around. Why are you here? On your owwwwwwn?" HMMMM, blondie? |
Quote:
Wandering around? In an empty corridor? Yeah, okay. The blonde narrowed her eyes slightly at him. "I just wanted some quiet, that's all. I usually hang out by the lake to relax but the grounds were way too crowded today.." ............ Why was she explaining herself to him again? Delilah abruptly stopped talking, her cheeks turning faintly pink in embarrassment. |
Quote:
She wanted some quiet. Was that her way of telling him to go away? Because that wasn't happening. Sucks for you, blondie. "I'm not surprised. It's a popular spot, the lake." Maybe it had a lot to do with the Giant Squid. Maybe. "Speaking of, I took up your advice about finding a new hobby." Juuuuuust in case she wanted to know. And he saw the way her cheeks turned a faint pink in colour. Uh huhhhhh. SMIRK. |
Quote:
"Yeah, it is. I love it, though.. I love to go swimming there. During summer, that is." Obviously not NOW. It was too freaking cold outside for swimming, gosh. And then, he suddenly changed the subject.. to him finding a new hobby. Oh. OHHH. That brought a small grin to her face. Delilah turned to look at him properly, her blue eyes looking at his face curiously. "Oh, yeah? One that doesn't involve creepily staring at people?" |
Quote:
This was a very casual conversation. That was a first. Maybe he could time how long it would take for her to be annoyed by him or how long it took for things to become awkward or weird. "I think people would look at you weirdly if you went swimming in the winter, anyways." Wink. "Man, that means the lake's going to be brimming with people in the summer." But that meant........... er. Okay. Stop thinking thoughts in case she could read his mind. Grayson couldn't help but roll his eyes as she mentioned creepily staring at people. It wasn't the staring at people part, he had no care in the world for that. It was the creepy part. "You still think I'm a creepy bugger?" ANYWAYS. "Uh huh. I tried skipping stones. Was about to go swimming too but the water didn't look very welcoming." Meaning that it was too cold. |
Delilah rolled her eyes, trying not to look too annoyed. Why did he just keep assuming things? Couldn't he just go away? Ugh. She just didn't want to deal with this right now.. Meh. "Like I'm going ask you to sing me a lullaby. Besides, I doubt if I want to sleep now." She said, pointedly. You know, how was she to nap with the boy sitting next to her? Now, THAT would be creepy. Delilah eyed the wink but remained quiet, a hint of a smirk playing near the corners of her lips. Oh, she knew where he was going with that.. Heh. "Yeah.. I'm not comfortable with people watching me swim anyway.. so I usually just go to the perfect's bathroom." In case he got any ideas, ahem. "It has a really big tub, you know. Big enough to swim in." "Pretty much, yeah. Not that my opinion matters." Delilah leaned back against the wall again, absently running her fingers through her hair. Wait.. Did he just say skipping stones? "Oh! That's good. I do that too.. sometimes." When she was really bored or something. But she liked to think that she was pretty good at it. |
Of course Grayson couldn't just go away. It wasn't as simple as that. Or maybe it was but there was the matter of him not wanting to go away. And she didn't want a lullaby? "Good. Glad that that's settled." It was a shame because if she had asked nicely, he MIGHT have thought about it. Might. "Why not?" She COULD always sleep on his lap. Juuuuust saying. She wasn't comfortable with people watching her swim? That was a shame. But she knew all about his observant nature of his so MAYBE being near the lake while she was swimming wouldn't be a good idea. But the Prefect's bathroom? "Are you serious?! What's it like in there?" Come on, blondie, spill. "Hold on. Are you a Prefect?!" Oh man, it would be just his luck if he had gone on to offend a PREFECT. Grayson shrugged. "It matters. But I really don't care about the creepy part." That was only half true; he did care about the creep part but was he going to mention it? No way. It would be a weird thing to admit. "Are you any good at it, then? We could make a competition out of it." Cue some eyebrow wiggling. |
..... Why not!? Delilah's confused blue eyes turned to just stare at him for a few seconds. "Are... you.. how could I take a nap with you sitting right here? That would be weird." REALLY weird. Like, why would he even ask? It made no sense. "I'm sure you wouldn't want to watch me sleep or something..." Or maybe he would. 'Cause he was a little creepy, wasn't he? .... PREFECT. Delilah snorted and shook her head, looking extremely amused. Did she even remotely look like a prefect? "Nah. But.. I get along with most of the student leaders so.. I manage to sneak in." She said, smirking a little. Heh, it really was fun... And she got to go as often as she liked. "Why would my opinion matter?" Delilah was suddenly wondering why he was suddenly being nice. Not that it was a bad thing.. and she could get used to it. Probably. She could get to like him too. If he was going to continue being this nice, that is. She couldn't help a small next grin at his question. "Yeah, I think I am... Be ready to lose, Gray." Heheheh. |
Was he? Was he WHAT?! He wanted to ask her what exactly she was going to say about that but the blonde haired girl had continued and so, he'd forget about that for now. "Why not? If you want to take a nap, you should." Or go to her dorm, if she was going to be picky. "Er, NO. First of all, that's creepy," And he wasn't THAT much of a creep, thank you very much. "And second of all, that's such a boring activity. Who'd voluntarily do something like that?" Oh, she wasn't a prefect. WELL then. Now he didn't have to suck up to her. Not that Grayson was going to but she didn't need to know that. "Oh yeah?" Innocent, Whitlock. Look as innocent as possible. "So, er, how do you get into this bathroom of theirs?" That was a good question, actually. Grayson shrugged before saying, "Why not?" It was one of those things that seemed so obvious, he was a bit confused as to why she was questioning it in the first place. The girl was calling him GRAY?! Was the nickname running around? "The only way I'd lose is if you cheat which you wouldn't do to a poor, innocent boy, would you?" SMIRK. |
Sitting against the wall of the corridor Emmylou read the letter that she had got from her Aunt Raeanne yesterday. Her Aunt Raeanne was wondering how everything was going, how she was liking Hogwarts, what she thought about being in Gryffindor and if she wanted anything to be sent to Hogwarts from her. Emmylou loved her aunt so much, she honestly didn't know what she would do without her in her life. The third year Gryffindor reached into her bang and took out a box of muggle gummy bears and jelly beans. She ate a few before finishing reading the letter. Emmylou folded up the letter and put it back in her bag, she would reply to it later tonight when she had a clear mind and wasn't so focused on the candy she just took out. The blonde looked around as she ate some jelly beans here and there and then switching to the gummy bears as she watched people walk on by and converse. |
Quote:
After spending so much time walking around, the Gryffindor started to get a little tired. So, he took a seat by the wall, at first, not even noticing the other girl who was sitting nearby. "Oh, er, I didn't even see you there!" he said as he acknowledged the girl."Would it be, alright, if I erm... Sat here too?" He started blushing a little. Something about girls just made him feel really uneasy. |
Quote:
Emmylou was in her own little world as she ate candy and people watched. She didn't know why she liked to people watch but sometimes watching the older students and their boyfriend/girlfriends just interested her. She didn't know to much about relationships so it made her aware of what to look out for and what to do and what not to do for the future. She didn't want to mess up a relationship at all. As the third year rummaged through her bag for another bag of candy she heard a voice next to her. She pulled out a bag of Twizzlers and looked over at the voice with a Twizzler hanging out of her mouth, she blushed and smiled. "Sit right away, I don't mind at all." The only person in Hogwarts with a Southern accent said to the boy as she bit part of the Twizzler off as she pulled on it with her right hand. |
Quote:
And Zahra took a bite out of his arm. And Lex. But Lex was kind of terrifying. And it had nothing to do with the fact that she was a Prefect, although that probably helped. So Gryffindor girls were scary. And girls are scary in general. And confusing. Very confusing. And that's why he kept on asking 'if she minded' because he would approach this lion with caution.... incase. |
Quote:
This was the first person ever that complimented her accent. People have given her strange looks, asked her where she's from and things like that but never ever compliment her accent. A sweet smiled grew on her face. She grabbed her bag of Twizzlers gesture her arm towards the boy. "Would you like some?" she smiled. He had to be her age, he looked her age and she could have sworn that she had seen him before. Maybe in the common room but she was sure. "I'm from Alabama." Emmylou thought that was a weird way for someone to asked that. She didn't mind being asked questions but maybe someone was mean to him here or he was scared of some people. |
Quote:
Alabama? "Isn't that in the United States?" he questioned curiously. Thank goodness he payed attention in geography before he came to Hogwarts. It was one subject that actually seemed to still be useful around here. "Er, what brings you all the way over here?" Most people around Hogwarts were british, scottish, irish, and occasionally some french Beauxbatons transfers. But you rarely ever get any Americans. Emmylou, even her name sounded all pretty and exotic. "I'm Zander, it's.. It's nice to meet you," he smiled shyly. |
Quote:
The blonde took another Twizzler out of the bag and popped it in her mouth and took a few bites. Why was candy so good? Emmylou was starting to think that she was addicted to candy. Nah, never. She wasn't addicted to candy she just liked it a lot. "You're welcome." Emmylou smiled brightly at him. She set the bag of Twizzlers aside and looked around in her backpack for more candy. Emmylou took out chocolate frogs, jolly ranchers, gummy worms, gummy dinosaurs, sour patch kids and some pop rocks. The blonde loved muggle candy just as much as she loved wizarding candy. |
Quote:
The third year listened carefully as the girl went on to explain more about her accent and stuff. Wait Beauxbatons? Wasn't that France, though? "So... You used to live in America... But then you went to France for school?" Huh? That didn't make any sense to the third year. Or did she still live in America and just go to Beauxbatons over the school year? Wouldn't she miss her family though!? "That's so cool that your parents went here though... I wish I had family who used to go here," it definitely would've made things so much easier. He would've known more about classes. Where to go study. What to do for fun. Basically family would've been really helpful. Especially since this school could be somewhat overwhelming. |
Quote:
Emmylou looked up to see what Zander has thought about her candy...collection. She wondered if he thought that she was weird or addicted and she wasn't weird or addicted. Emmylou was a unique thirteen year old with a sweet tooth...lets go with that. Emmylou giggled a him. "Candy is the best tasting food in the world." She pretty much eats it all day long and some times sneaks the candy into some of her classes. Her diet consisted mostly of candy. "I have never thought of hiding my candy under my bed. I always have some people trying to steal it all on me." She would have to think of a proper hiding spot because she didn't want to take Zander's idea for a hiding spot. |
Quote:
Oooh, so she lived in America? But came here for school? And used to go to that Beauxbatons place? This was confusing. "Do you-you, um, like it better here, then" It sure looked like she was happy at Hogwarts. Or maybe it was the candy that was making her smile. But either way... she did look happy? Then Zander considered all the things she had said. Not girly enough? No makeup? "I-I don't think you need to wear makeup?" Why did girls wear that stuff anyway? All the Hogwarts girls were really pretty and didn't really need anything. Zander couldn't imagine having to wear that stuff on his face. "Doesn't makeup make your face feel all heavy?" It was basically just adding layers to your face, right? Wouldn't that way you down!? JEEZ how do girls handle that stuff?! |
Quote:
The third year girl extend her arm out with a few chocolate frogs in her hand for him. "Take some. I don't mind." Sharing was caring or whatever her grandma Holmes had said to her. It was something along those lines. Well close enough, yeah? Emmylou loved like kinds of candy but at the end of the day she was more of the really sugary, sour, sweet, fruity types of candy lover. That was what she loved about that type of candy. It was like a sweet surprise every time she ate it. "I don't want to take your hiding spot though!" Nope, she would find her own hiding spot. |
Quote:
Then, when Emmylou went on to talk about how she loved Hogwarts, Zander couldn't help but grin. Yeah, it was totally awesome here. He couldn't have agreed any more. "Yeah it is pretty awesome." He nodded. At first he was super nervous to go off to the school by himself, but after the past two years he had learned to call this place home. "There are tons of cool people here," like Simon, Cris, Bay, Lux, Vinnie, Josette, sometimes even Kevin... The list could go on and on. Well, there were a couple uncool people too. Like Zahra. But, supposedly, that's life. While Zander was off in his thoughts for a few seconds, he was snapped into reality by the sound of the southern accent. Was she... blushing? That was totally some major blush going on. And then without even realizing it, Zander felt his cheeks going red too. Oh no. He probably shouldn't have said that not needing makeup bit out loud... Luckily the girl spoke again to save him from that rather embarrassing moment. "Tinted cream?" he repeated slowly. Whaaa's that? He leaned forward to get a closer look at her face, maybe even a little too close. "Woaah, It doesn't look like you're wearing anything! Maybe makeup was some form of magic too? Or she was just totally right about how it felt like nothing on your face. It definitely looked natural. Then she went on to talk about the Beauxbaton girls. Eugh. That sounds miserable. "That's horrible." He meant it. Every single word. He would hate for his roommates to force him to wear goop all over his face. "I'd never want to wear that kind of makeup!" And then he found himself laughing because boys don't wear makeup at all! "I mean... If I was a girl... Which I'm not... I-I'm definitely a boy... I-I....." Ugh. Ooops. "I'm glad that you don't have to wear that stuff anymore," he said trying to fix up his last mishap. "It sounds pretty scary," Maybe he could buy some of that stuff for Zahra? Muaha! |
