"Oh THAT'S true!" He got lost all the time! Sometimes from taking the wrong staircases. Kyroh bobbed his head as the familiar book name popped up. "I think it's a good book but it's kind of boring." History and stuff was alright but the way it was written was...boring. If Kyroh needed to know facts he'd fast his papa.

"...Okay." Kyrohs eyes flickered down to his hotdog which was basically finished by now and his uneaten apple. He had really wanted the apple before too. But now? Not so much. Sometimes it could be REALLY easy making friends....and other times....."...Bye."

History? Boring? Kate refrained from actually saying anything. Probably Kyroh just didn't have the taste for biographies and history books that Kate had developed recently. And it was a really long book…maybe Kyroh just thought it was boring because he already knew everything in it. Yes, that was probably it. Kyroh was just really smart.

Uh-oh.

Was Kyroh sad she was leaving? Kate hesitated before standing up. This was weird. She had just met him. Why was he so disappointed? Still standing there, Kate bit her lip. Maybe… maybe they could be friends? They were both first years in the same house, so they'd probably see each other a lot, right? Right?

"I'll probably see you in the common room!" Kate said cheerfully as she gathered her notebook and pencil. "Maybe then you can tell me about Hogwarts secrets?" Hopefully he wouldn't be mad and refuse to tell her any of the secrets about the castle. "…Bye!" Waving cheerfully, Kate headed out of the Great Hall. She really hoped that she hadn't offended Kyroh by wanting to go read… He was a Ravenclaw, surely he understood, probably. Maybe?

Kyroh didn't respond. He didn't say anything really as Kate packed up cheerfully and left the table. As she waved back to him Kyroh lifted a hand slowly and waved back.

........Things would have gone better if there had been waffles for lunch.

Jasmine arrived at the Great Hall with Cris and not a moment too soon. Nothing like Defense Against the Dark Arts to work up an appetite. After a brief discussion, they decided to sit at the Ravenclaw table. Happy to see that the table wasn't too crowded yet, Jasmine found empty seats. Sitting down, she motioned for Cris to sit beside her.

"Are you hungry?", Jasmine asked Cris. "I am starving right now." She couldn't help staring at him and still couldn't believe that he was her boyfriend. Reaching for his hand beneath the the table, Jasmine held it ......because she could.

After a very invigorating Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson, Cris was feeling really hungry. So when Jasmine asked him whether he was hungry, he nodded emphatically,"Yes I am. Being around that Zombie has made me very hungry for some food,"Cris winked at her as he opened his mouth wide and faked biting his own arm.

Then his tummy rumbled and he began to laugh. "Looks like my tummy agrees with me too," he grinned at her as he patted his abs.

Then he felt her hand reach for his under the table, and he was lost for words. All Cris could do was look tenderly at Jasmine and smile. It was still hard for him to believe that someone as beautiful as Jasmine picked him. She had picked him!! She was his girlfriend and he really liked the sound of that.

"What do you want to eat, spaghetti and meatballs?", Jasmine asked. She tried to decide what she wanted, but she could have eaten just about anything at that point. She was that hungry. Hearing Cris' stomach growl, Jasmine laughed. Clearly she was not alone.

"So how have been enjoying your classes so far? Any favorites? It had been so far so good for Jasmine and she was hoping that things continued to go well with her classes. Still aware that she was holding Cris' hand, Jasmine gave it a squeeze. She would have to let go eventually, but not yet.

Cris nodded eagerly at the mention of one of his favorite foods. "Most definitely, it'll be spaghetti and meatballs. And then, some gravy mashed potatoes and bangers, a shepherd's pie. For dessert, I think I'll try some of that treacle pudding or maybe a slice of apple pie," Cris smacked his lips at the prospect.

"What about you? What you are hungering for?" he turned to ask her, returning her under the table hand squeeze with one of his own.

Then the topic moved on to classes. "I would have to say so far I'm enjoying Potions, Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures...but then again, those are almost all the classes we've attended," he laughed at the thought.

"I like these classes so much, that I'm planning on helping out with the creatures in the playpens and the stables, as well as in the Greenhouses. You're most welcome to join me if you have some spare time" Cris informed her before turning the question back on her.

"So how do you like classes so far? Any favorites? " he grinned back at her. Then he remembered something he was planning on doing which he hadn't mentioned to anyone yet.

He leaned closer to Jasmine to whisper his plans. "There's another thing I'm planning to doing. I've been wanting to try brewing some potions and I think I can do that here in the Potions Laboratory. Anyway, it's something I'm interested in doing," Cris shrugged.

Jasmine looked at Cris when he ran down the list of things that he wanted to eat. "All that" Jasmine thought to herself. Well he is a growing boy and growing boys needed fuel. Jasmine had already been thinking about what she wanted to eat so when Cris asked what she wanted, she was ready with the reply. "For some reason I don't quite understand, I have a taste for chicken nuggets. Or should I say chicken fingers? That sounds so much more mature. I guess that's what I'll have, probably with some French fries" Jasmine's favorite course was dessert and she surely couldn't pass that up. "Apple pie sounds good, so maybe I'll have that for dessert."

It seemed like Cris had pretty much been enjoying all of his classes so far. "I would love to help you out at the playpens and the stables. The greenhouses ..........maybe. I don't exactly have the greenest thumb around so you might want to rethink that offer."

When Cris asked about her favorite classes, Jasmine thought for a minute. "I think I've liked Potions and Care of Magical Creatures the most so far. It's really kind of strange because Potions has never been my best subject, but I enjoyed the class.". When Cris confided in her that he was interested in brewing potions, Jasmine nodded. "Well that should be interesting. Anything special that you're planning to whip up?" Jasmine admired Cris because he was always going the extra mile and doing more than the basic school requirements. He was definitely a go getter.

Cris chuckled when he heard what Jasmine wanted to eat. "I could do with some chicken fingers myself. Good suggestion," Cris reached for the plate and first handed it to Jasmine. "Here you go, dig in," he told her as he reached for the spaghetti and meatballs, and scooped some of it onto his plate.

As he speared up a meatball with his fork, Cris turned to Jasmine, and listened as she told him what her favorite classes were in school. Again he discovered that they had the same likes. He smiled. They had so much in common it was so uncanny and he once again thanked the fates for leading him to her.

It was still hard for him to believe that she agreed to be his girlfriend. He looked down at their joined hands, quickly bringing up to kiss hers, before tucking them back under the table.

"I'm not that great in the garden either but I think I'm still able to keep a cactus alive and I believe so can you," Cris smiled down at her. "The potions I want to practice making? Well I was thinking of making Maxifloo. It's a potion that can be used by both muggles and muggleborn to fight off any strain of flu bug," Cris shared what he intended to do.

"I was also hoping to make the Scintillation Solution. You know just for fun. You have to admit that it would look awesome to be glowing in your favorite color." he grinned at her.

"Isidora Miroslava." YEAH, he DID know her whole name! 'Cept it felt weird saying it instead of Miss Dora, and Dima was very sure that he'd be in trouble for doing so. No full naming dangerous people. Was that a survival rule? Had he just broken it?

Oh well.

Paaause. "Yes." Who WASN'T hungry at breakfast time?

He didn't reach for any food though. Not yet, at least.

It was always weird when someone not her family used her full name. Her nickname had become so common amongst her friends and acquaintances that she sometimes forgot people actually knew she had a full name. "Yes, that's me. Just Miss Dora though. No one calls me Isidora." So he didn't have permission.

Well then why wasn't he eating? She eyed him speculatively before flicking her wrist to unholster her wand, another flick to charm the tableware to fill up his plate with food. Boys weren't picky, right? Not the ones she knew at least.

"So." So. Hm. "I don't go to all the classes, so I can't be your partner in them, but if you want I can help you with homework and studying." She didn't mind, it would be a good distraction. And a start with this whole mentoring thing. "You should tell me what you'd like out of this arrangement and I'll decide what I will help with."

Good guess, sherlock... Bryant thought to himself as the girl identified herself."Yeah...uh.. technically my name's Bryant, but you should call me Finn... all my friends do." He said, a little hesitantly, before sitting down across from Tora. He glanced around the table a bit, looking to see what foods were out, but quickly turned his attention back to the girl who was speaking about something.

"Right... Ravenclaw comrades... we work together and hang out throughout the year." He said confidently. Ahha! she had come with a list of questions for the two of them. Bryant smirked a little upon seeing the paper and swiftly turned the paper so he could read what was written. "Do you care to go first?" He asked, reaching for a muffin left over from breakfast.

The Fourth Year tried to subtly scoot the paper away from her "Comrade", especially after he smirked at the questions on it. She had told everyone else they had been a bad idea! Geez... Tora didn't know what to say, but she had a lot of questions. The most nagging of which was why she didn't know this guy. Sure, she wasn't exactly social but she knew other Ravenclaws by sight if not by name and before this year she was positive she had never seen this particular Housemate.

"Are you new?" she asked to get the ball rolling, since Finn has quite so courteously decided to let her go first. Well duh, he was new. Hadn't she already figured that out? "Well, I mean where are you coming from?" she tried to amend before she wasted her first question.

Was she embarrassed about the questions? Bryant didn't know why she didn't seem to want him looking at the paper. It honestly didn't matter what she did with it. They had to get to know each other somehow. He started to take a bite of his muffin when Tora asked a question. "Yeah... I'm new... I transferred from a wizarding school in Washington DC. It was an all boys school." He said, shrugging a bit.

"I'm not really that interesting, I suppose..." He continued, taking another bite of his muffin. He kinda gave a look over at the paper that the claw girl had pulled away. "So... did you transfer in too? What are your favorite classes here and what should I try to stay away from?" He asked, smirking a bit more. She had asked two questions, so it would only be fair if he got to ask three.

"Marcus Orion does," Dima corrected amiably. He called her Isidora Ye... Yeki... Yekima or something. Funny name! But he didn't plan to address her as anything other than Miss Dora, so it was alright with him. Whatever floated the scary Prefect's boat and stuff.

Was SHE gonna eat too or had she done so already? The kid would have asked, but he was soon distracted by Dora's fancy act of magic, plus all the edible things now filling his line of sight. "Woah! Can you teach ME how to do that?" Yeah! Yeah, Dima wanted to learn THAT.

He flicked his wand at the tableware just as the older girl had, but only succeeded in showering a roll with sparks and thus setting it on fire. Cool.

"I could use some help with learning basic spells," he stated while dumping a glass of water on the roll. Err. Oops. "What can I help YOU with?" He had to do stuff for her too, right? 'Cause they were friends now?

... were they?

Jasmine took the plate of chicken fingers and put a few of them on her plate. She passed the plate back to Cris and then went for some fries. She smiled as he kissed her hand. "I think we might have to let go for now. It might be good to have two hands, you know.....for eating." Reluctantly letting go of Cris' hand Jasmine took a bite of her chicken nugget.

Jasmine was still unsure about her Herbology skills, but she was willing to try helping out in he greenhouse. "I'll try to help you tend to the plants in the greenhouse. I just hope that I don't kill anything and lose points for Ravenclaw.

Jasmine listened to Cris as he explained what potions he wanted to make. " That's awesome. You want to make a potion that can help so many people. Take it from someone who has experienced the flu, anything that can help to avoid it is a great thing. now the other potion sounded like a lot of fun. "Ooh, glowing in colors. I like that. How would I look glowing pink?"

Looking at Cris, Jasmine wondered how Cris had time to do his schoolwork and all of the extra things he did. "How many hours do you have in your day?", Jasmine asked. "I want to be just like you when I grow up." Jasmine looked at Cris with amazement. Not a day went by that she didn't realize how lucky she was to have him.

He remembered what she called Mo, huh? Dora looked thoroughly amused. "He does because I started addressing him by his first and middle names as well. And he's one of my close friends," He knew things. And also she sort of enjoyed his company a lot. "So he has my permission. When I'm feeling lazy I just call him Mo. You can too, everyone does." Just so he knew. This kid picked up on little things, she noted.

She actually already had eaten, and didn't need much to fill her up. Shrugging, she watched him draw out his own wand and try to do as she had done only to set something on fire. Interesting. "I'll show you that, and how to cast a fire on purpose." Just not at someone, she wasn't that terrible of an influence.

He could just figure that part out on his own.

And she'd teach him how to put out a fire as well. Dora vanished the mess he'd made, and kept her wand out, just in case he planned on starting more fires. "I can help you with that. Make a list of the ones you'd like to learn most and we can meet during your free periods to practice them." Not really weekends. She had plans on the weekends.

"You can help me with..." She thought about it for a moment. "My spell work too. And potions." Yeah, he would do perfect for that.

Even though Cris agreed with Jasmine's logic, he still had a hard time releasing her hand, reluctantly doing so when she reached up to grab a piece of chicken nugget and took a bite of it.

"Lose points? I would never let you lose points. If you do, I'll give you some of mine, if I have any by the time the term ends," Cris happily offered before replying to her comment. "But you underestimate yourself, Jasmine. I saw you with the Flesh Eating Plants in class. You were calm and collected and knew what you were doing. You'll do fine in the greenhouse."

Then it was her turn to compliment him....and again he blushed before explaining his reason for wanting make the first potion. "I have a muggle friend who has been sick all his life. He's got this immunity deficiency and is unable to fight off even the common flu. He rarely gets to go out of the house and I know he badly wants to. I'm hoping that the Maxifloo will give him the opportunity to do just that." he told her, with a serious look on his face.

But then the seriousness was gone, when Jasmine asked when she would look good in pink. Cris grinned, giving in to the urge to tease her. "You would look really Pretty In Pink. I think you'd pass with flying colors. In fact, I would be Tickled Pink if you glowed that way and with that color you would always look in the Pink of health," Cris rattled off a couple of expressions with the word Pink in them. "And oh yes, you can always be my Pink Panther," Cris whispered in her ear before leaning back to wink at her.

Even as he laughed at his own joke, the next thing Jasmine asked him made him laugh even more? "Hours? What are they? Honestly, I'm not sure whether I'll get to do all the things I want to do here this term, but I'm going to give it a try. If not this term, there's always next term right?"

....wait she wanted to be like him when she grew up? Cris chuckled when she said that. "I know what you're trying to say and I'm flattered, but honestly, you don't want to be like me. You're really awesome just the way you are. Besides that, you're about the same age as me, take or give a couple of months, so technically you've run out of time to be like me," he smiled at her.

.....not that he wanted her to. Yes they seemed to like the same things and had the same interests, but that alone didn't attract him to her. It was her other qualities. Her humor, her kindness, her patience with others, the way she smiled at him and the way she felt in his arms. Cris counted himself lucky to be with her.

Still unsure about the Herbology thing, Jasmine listened to Cris' argument. Awwwww, he would give up his house points for her. That was a big deal and Jasmine really felt special. She had to chuckle though when Cris thought she was calm and knew what she was doing in the greenhouse. I was calm on the outside and I pretended like I knew what I was doing. If you got that impression, I may be a better actress than I thought."

Jasmine was so proud of Cris. Attempting to brew this anti- flu potion was such a noble effort and all because of a sick friend. "That is so considerate of you. Just thinking of others before yourself, there aren't very many like you Cris.". In fact there weren't any like him in Jasmine's opinion.

Jasmine really laughed when Cris got into his Pink-isms. "You are too funny.". Then she whispered back, "Ooooh, your Pink Panther, I like that".

"I don't want to be like you? Why not? You inspire me." "I mean yes I am awesome, Jasmine said with a barely maintained straight face. "But don't sell yourself short. You set a good example and a very high standard. Besides I still have time to try to be like you. I'm not an official grown up for a few months. "A girl could learn a lot in four months.", Jasmine said with a sly smile.

It really seemed that Cris had no clue how special he was. Well Jasmine would make sure that he knew how special she thought he was. Oh yes she would.

Cris chuckled when Jasmine described how she felt during their first Herbology lesson. "Well you sure fooled me cause you excused confidence up the Yin Yang. However, having said that, I still think you did awesome in that class, so I have every I confidence that you will do great helping out with the plants, especially the Flesh Eating ones, he winked cheekily at her.

Then believe it or not, he blushed again. This time at Jasmine's compliment of how considerate he was. How was it she could always make him do that. Every compliment she gave him, made his heart swell with pride. Didn't she know she was equally special too? Cris made it a point to tell her that often...like right now.

"You know who's special? You are. You see the goodness in everything and everybody," Cris whispered softly to her as he lifted up one of her hands and kissed it. "You are the one who inspires me to want to do better. You are the one I want to grow up to become. Yes, my Pink Panther. You," Cris revealed to Jasmine as he looked deep into her eyes.

Jasmine was amazed when Cris insisted that she appeared confident in Herbology. "Well, I am willing to try helping out in Herbology. We'll call it a probationary period and see how it goes."

And Cris was blushing again. Had she embarrassed him with her compliment? It was true, all true. Jasmine appreciated his humility, in fact that was something she really loved about him........but then he flipped the script and began to compliment her. Jasmine just looked at him hardly believing the things he was saying. Me.....an inspiration to you? WOW. Jasmine managed to say, "Thank you Cris". And then he looked at her with those eyes and she was......um.......lost.......in them......again.

Stopping by the Great Hall to get himself a big meal tray before he headed past Cossy's office to see if he was up for a meal break and a chat. Leo's attention was however directed towards the Ravenclaw Table where Cris Potter was sitting way too close to one of the girls in his own house. They were looking too sappy for his comfort.

Striding over to the Ravenclaw Table Leo said in voice that expected to be obeyed as his gaze shifted between the two senior students with dissaproval clear in them. "We sit at least 3 feet apart Mr Strand and Miss? This is a place for eating not exchanging sappy kisses. If you don't cut it out right now I'll send you both to detention in lover's lair to extract a 100 bezoars from goats each."

Austin walked into the busy dining hall, a stomach ready for food. He had overslept that morning, and missed breakfast. So food was his number one priority at the moment. Upon sitting down, he realized that lunch was going to be a fantastic meal. It had all of his favorites: bacon, steak, and even a stew that was kept warm in a large pot. Trying to keep from salivating all over his plate, Austin filled it up with every food option on display. He piled on two steaks, and stew, and even had a second plate for bacon alone. He filled two goblets with pumpkin juice, and one with water. Maybe it was a little selfish of him to take all of this food, but it wasn't like he was going to throw it away. All of this food was going into his stomach, and there was nothing anyone could do about it. Even though people were watching, Austin didn't care. He had food, and Merlin's beard it was delicious.

Jasmine was talking to Cris and okay, they may have been guilty of staring at each other a little too long, when her Head of House suddenly appeared and read them the riot act. Jasmine was officially mortified. If she could have hidden under the table, she would have. Seriously though, sitting too close? Exchanging sappy kisses? Last time she checked they were just looking at each other intensely ,but still. This was not the way she had planned to meet her Head of House. Being called out in front of everyone at the Ravenclaw table and threatened with detention.......wasn't that a tad harsh? Maybe she should have grabbed Cris right then and kissed him in front of everyone. At least then she would have felt that the intended punishment fit the crime.

When Mr. Kitridge clearly did not know her name, Jasmine felt the need to help him out. "It's Miss Guidry, Jasmine Guidry." If he was going to reprimand a student, he might as well know which student he was reprimanding. Jasmine wanted to respond so badly, but she figured that back sassing her Head of House was surely a one way ticket to the dungeons.......so she bit her lip and remained silent.

Cris had been smiling at Jasmine when he heard a voice speak up behind them. Mortified on hearing what Jasmine's Head of House, had to say, Cris quickly dropped Jasmine's hand like it was a hot potato, before turning beet red!

Yes...it looked like Mr. Kitredge had the ability to make him feel like a child who had just been caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Cris blushed as he gazed up the school librarian, the look of disapproval clearly written over the older man's face.

"Uh..um...I'm sorry Mr. Kitridge. We meant no disrespect," Cris immediately apologized although he still couldn't understand why they had been called out in front of everybody. He had seen others do a lot more than they had...but then the others had been smart enough not to get caught.

Mental note to self. Public displays of affection will be limited to where there are no adults present.

Cris was upset but he kept those feelings to himself. He felt bad that he had gotten Jasmine into trouble with her Head of House. He shot her a quick look of apology and then sighed, turning his gaze to stare at the plate in front of him.



Despite her continued silence, Cris suspected that Jasmine was upset too. Only she was wise enough not to say anything.

Okay floor, you can open up now and swallow me whole. Cris immediately lost his appetite. It would be just great for his parents to hear that he had been given detention because he been caught kissing his girlfriend's hand and staring into her eyes.

Just great!!
