High up in the top-most reaches of the Castle is a tower dedicated to Ravenclaw House. You come across the entrance in the form of a door on the 7th floor without a doorknob or a keyhole but a bronze knocker shaped like the head of an eagle. If, and only if, you answer the riddle that the eagle presents you correctly, you may gain entrance to the Ravenclaw Common Room. Hey, there's a reason that Ravenclaw is the house for those with brains.
Upon entering the Common Room you see a number of things but mostly you see the floor to ceiling windows that span around the airy, wide and circular room. Beyond their panes you can see what looks like all of Hogwarts' campus and the majestic mountain range beyond. One sweeping look through them and you can see the Forbidden Forest, Quidditch Pitch, The Greenhouses, the Black Lake, and even the shimmering light from the windows in Hogsmeade. At nighttime, the glass reveals the starry night beyond. The walls are covered in blue and bronze silk hangings and the midnight blue carpet covering the floor is decorated with stars just as the domed ceiling.
Placed on the centre of the curved wall is a large fireplace with plenty of navy blue sofas and armchairs placed around it as well as a few book cases and tables. They are there for students to lounge at, as they work on homework, socialize or just relax and enjoy the view between lessons. On a crowded night in the common room the fire place is a good meeting spot if you want to find someone to engage in a rowdy game of Gobstones or plan a party with.
Along the wall you entered there is the Announcements Board where all things will be posted regarding school events, lessons, and homework as well as the Study Tables that are provided for a more structured setting for Ravenclaws to do what Ravenclaws do best. The Grey Lady, the House ghost of Ravenclaw tends to visit this spot especially every now and then. And last but not least, to the right of where the impressive statue of Rowena Ravenclaw herself stands, is the staircase leading to the dormitories. Once you ascend these stairs, going to the right will take you to the ones allotted for the girls and the left will lead you to the ones reserved for the boys. Come in, relax, have fun and make yourselves at home.
If Charlie couldn't be back in London, then she guessed this was the next best place in the Castle. It wasn't perfect, and there were often far too many people up here, but when she managed to get a chair in the corner by the window in the fairly empty room during one of her free periods, like right now, then it was the perfect place to read. Or write letters.
Or, in all honesty, just sit there and do absolutely nothing, like she was right now. She missed Tristan, and Valeria, and really wanted to be back working with Tam. The fact that she'd just started her sixth year, and that she was soon to be seventeen, and that Elodie and Cat were LEAVING at the end of this year...
Well, she was considering leaving herself. Maybe she could intern forever.

Jasmine entered the Ravenclaw Common Room and stopped for a moment in awe of her surroundings. She wasn't exactly sure what she had expected, but this far exceeded anything she could have imagined. This place was awesome! Looking around, she became aware that she was one of the first to arrive. There was only one girl in the room sitting by the window and she seemed to be about Jasmine's age. She appeared to be deep in thought and Jasmine did not want to disturb her, but........since they were the only people in the room, she couldn't exactly ignore her.
Walking over to the other girl, Jasmine said, "Excuse me". "Hi, I'm Jasmine. I'm new to the school. Do you mind if I sit here?" She hoped that the girl wouldn't mind and would not consider her a bother.

At the sound of the door opening, and the soft padding of footsteps, Charlie looked up from her intertwined fingers and unlocked them so she could run them through her hair. She wasn't quite ready to go up to the dormitory, for a book or otherwise, so she stayed put and offered a smile towards the girl who was now approaching her. She was almost glad for the company, just to take her mind off being back here.
"Hello, Jasmine. Pretty name. I'm Charlie." Not so pretty name. It was actually quite a boyish name, and she could not be further from a tomboy. SIGH. Anyway. "New? That was me two years ago. Don't worry, you'll settle in fine. You got the best house." And she was totally not biased at all. "What year are you in?"

Austin walked in, tired from his day of classes. He knew school would be hard, but he didn't know they would be this hard. He had a pretty great day in Potions, though. He had almost perfectly made his first potion, even if it did have a few minor mistakes. But nonetheless he was on his way. He collapsed on to the couch, dropping his bag on the way, and smiled as the newly used couch made an 'oof' sound. He loved that the majority of the furniture had rarely been used. It gave him time to claim the comfiest couch and/or chair as his own.
Reaching down, he pulled out a letter from his bag. He was glad that his parents were writing him letters, but he didn't feel like writing them back, and he didn't want to feel guilty by reading it. So he pulled out his wand, and started rolling it in his hands. It was such a beautiful wand, and supposedly it would help him with healing spells. He wasn't exactly sure how, but he would have to take the Wand Owner's word for it. Austin was definitely ready to test out that theory, but he didn't know any healing spells yet. Sighing, he pulled out his letter, ready to read it.
SPOILER!!: The Letter
Hello Dearie! It's your mom here. I just wanted to see how things were going. Are your classes okay? Did you get into your house fine? I hope you got into Ravenclaw, because you were saying how much you wanted to be in it. I hope the owl finds you alright, your father bought us one, but I'm not sure how reliable it is. I know owls are how we all communicate, but what if something happens to the owl? How will you get my letter? If someone reads this, and it isn't Austin, then please send it his way!
Anyways, Austin, please send a letter back and tell me how things are going! Love you!
Austin, send a letter when you feel like it. I know I didn't want to send any when I was your age. But we have an owl now, his name is Raoul.
Austin chuckled. He loved his dad. He loved his mom too, but she could get very annoying very quickly, and she was very hard to handle when she was upset. His dad told him stories about when she was pregnant, ad spend two days crying. She only stopped to eat and sleep. He thought she was going crazy, but turns out she was just carrying their child. Austin could only laugh every time he told this story. Usually because when this story was being told, they were sitting on the roof, escaping their mom.

Jasmine breathed a sigh of relief. The girl was friendly, thank goodness. Smiling, she said, "Nice to meet you Charlie". "I'm a sixth year transfer from Beauxbatons, but I'm fom California originally." If everyone in Ravenclaw was as nice as Charlie, this year might not be too bad. Apparently she could relate to being the new kid at Hogwarts. "I'm beginning to think you're right about Ravenclaw. I think I'm really going to like this house. It seems pretty awesome so far. What about you? What year is this for you?"

Nose deep in the Hogwarts, A History book, Coral-Bay skimmed down the pages rapidly, trying to figure out just where she'd left off. Her book mark had fallen out during the ride over apparently. Had they turned her trunk over? Everything had seemed like a mess the further she had dug into it.
She'd read the book a few times before, over summer, as a sort of prep before getting here. The dreaded Hogwarts. Ugh. If this was some sort of punishment, it had to be awful. Sigh. She wanted Hallie!company and Foxtrot!company. But she was stuck without both of them. Hallie, sorted different than herself and Foxtrot.. a dog. Not really fit for dorm life, she had decided after Hallie had decided the same thing.
She turned a few more pages, FINALLY finding the bit she'd been at just a few days earlier, a tiny happy squeak escaping her lips and a little body wiggle as she got more comfortable on the couch she was currently occupying.
Perfect.

There had been a group of kids from dinner time that had decided that it was time to go back to the common room. Kyroh knew none of them but he had decided to follow. The only probably was his shoelace and come undone and by the time he looked up again the kids were gone and he was left to answer the Ravenclaw question all by him self.
Needless to say Kyroh had been sitting outside the common room for about 15 minutes before an older kid came and answered the answered the question that the door knocker had given him.
Which of the founders was the first Headmaster of Hogwarts?
It was a hard question to answer because weren't all the founders equal? In the end Kyroh had said Ravenclaw because...well why else would the Ravenclaw password but anything but Raveclaw?
Turns out it was a TRICK question. None of the founders were. WHO could have guessed that?
Trotting up the stairs Kyroh made his way into the common room, not at all upset. At least had had learned something! Turning to one of the big comfy chairs Kyroh paused as he noticed a girl with a giant book. Like GIANT! Woah. It looked familiar though.... "Are you reading that word for word? Aren't you worried that your brain might explode?" He wasn't exaggerating. He was honestly concerned.

Just after flexing her fingers a little, Coral-Bay gripped the book a little tighter and adjusted it's position in her lap when a boy approached and interrupted her. Would it be rude to finish the page she was currently on and then talk to him?
Sigh. Yeah.
She placed her finger on the last word she had read and slowly lifted her eyes to meet his. Awwww. He was a cute kid. Lots of freckles, she noted. Probably not much younger than herself? She closed the book, leaving her finger on the word still, and her hand between the pages. "Um... Well, yeah? How else do you read?"
Wait wait wait.
Brain explosions? Was this kid for real?
"No. Why would my brain explode?" Head tilt. "Its just reading..."

Oh. The girl sighed.
Which couldn't be a good thing right? Was he bothering her. Kyroh frowned. He hadn't MEANT to bother her.
Making friends was not as easy as it looked.
"Well I mean..I didn't want to bother you or anything but..." The book DID look oddly familiar. Tilting his head to the side to try to catch the words on the spine of the book a lightbulb suddenly went off in his head. It looked familiar because his father had the SAME one at home. "....that's Hogwarts a History." He grinned. But she already knew that yes. "So I thought it was more like a reference book. Like a dictionary or something." He would never read the dictionary word for word."I didn't know people actually read it." He paused, a random question forming in his mind "Would you read the dictionary word for word?"
"And your brain would explode from the intake of too much information. I don't know if that's possible but I think that's the book that would do you in." It sounded like it was possible so it could have been right? Also-"I'll be quiet now." If she wanted to go back to reading. Yes because Kyroh had not forgotten the sigh.

Hope had never been happier to be back home. It even stuck her as odd that the castle felt more like home than her own house. Maybe it was being around her own kind all the time that made her want to stay forever? Maybe it was the friends she had that she had missed during the break? Whatever the reason, tiny, second year, Hope Evans was glad to be back.
She walked into the common room and in her hands she held a medium sized black box. It looked like just any ordinary black box and maybe it was just an ordinary black box. Or maybe it was something in the works? A surprise she was planning for someone who had inspired her in some way? Or was it something to do with something else? Only she knew!
She sat down on a vacant couch and placed to box upon her lap and opened it just the tiniest bit and stared in wide eyed amazement. She closed it just as fast as she opened it, not wanting anyone to see it and let slip what she was working on, she was certain though that it would be AWESOME!

Bryant held Murphy tightly as he made his way carefully down the stairs leading to the boys dormitory. Since the kneazle was only a kitten, Bryant didn't want any incidents. Walking over towards the couch and a little open area, the fifteen year old sat on the floor and gently placed the kneazle down, keeping a firm hand on the scruff on the back of the neck until he pulled out the new collar and training leash. Gently, he put the collar on Murphy and attached the leash, letting the male kneazle explore a bit.
"C'mere Murphy.... come here buddy." Bryant coo-ed, offering a little treat to try and convince the pet to come over.
C'mon bud... we don't have all day here.
I've got class in an hour. Bryant though, trying again. "Here Murphy..."

Melek came down from the girls dormitory with Elouan in her arms. Mel stroked her kneazle. A smile was on her face and it grew seeing a certain someone, "Bryant?" Amazement was in her eyes, "I didnt know you got Ravenclaw!" She was at the feast but she was so zoned out that she didnt notice the extremely cute mysterious boy that she had met in Diagon Alley. "I havent seen you since Diagon." She giggled and beamed then saw his kneazle, "That wont work, ya know... kneazles dont like walks." Melek laughed and pet her kneazle. Melek plopped down onto a couch, pulling her legs up beside her. Mel hugged her kneazle while she watched Bryant with his kneazle. "What is your kneazle's name?" She stroked her kneazle's head. "This is Elouan, by the way." Melek let Elouan jump off the couch. Mel tilted her head as her kneazle checked out Bryant's kneazle.

Huh? What?
Bryant's head spun around as if it was on a swivel. Oh... it was Mel from the pet shop. "Hi... uh yeah, didn't you see the sorting?" He asked, giving her a confused look. Everyone had to be at the feast, no? Maybe she was late or something. Either way, Bryant didn't really mind. She would've seen him eventually.
"How do you know? I've seen kneazles on leash before, back at my old school." He remarked, turning his attention back to little Murphy, who was starting to explore his owner's leg. Turning to face more towards Mel, Bryant tried coaxing his pet again. "His name is Murphy. I got him this summer after I ran into you." He said as Murphy finally found the treat before wandering over to explore more, not even aware of the other kneazle.
"So you're a Ravenclaw too, and you have a kneazle, huh? What else haven't you told me?" Bryant said, smirking a bit.

"Good, Elouan." Melek smiled at her and then looked at Bryant before digging around in her bag. She took out a chocolate frog and started to bite into it.
"They are like cats... cats dont like walks." Melek munched on her chocolate frog with a grin. "Murphy? Hmmm... I guess that is a cool name for a kneazle." Mel shrugged and looked at him. "Oh nice so you just got him. Sweet. I got Elouan at the adoption fair about 2 summers ago." Mel relaxed on the couch, staring up at the ceiling as Elouan decided to move to Melek's stomach.
"I am a Ravenclaw." She confirmed it even though she didnt have to since it was obvious. "I am pretty sure I told you about Elouan... or that I had a kneazle, at least..." Melek rolled her eyes and petted Elouan.

Maddie had managed to pull a clawing Zeus out from under her bed and bring him with her to the common room. She wasn't particularly eager for social interaction but she was bored and she figured observing her housemates would offer some kind of amusement. Besides, Zeus needed some fresh air. He'd made under her bed a proper man cat cave and took to hiding there for days at a time, leaving Maddie wondering if he was depressed or missing Bruno. Poor guy needed a change of scenery.
Settling down on the blue carpet, the small brunette placed Zeus in her lap and set to work unlacing her trainer. She figured he'd be entertained enough if she gave him a shoelace to destroy and perhaps it'd get him out of his funk. Merlin knew Maddie wasn't a kneazle therapist did they even HAVE Kneazle therapists? and she didn't do comfort well. Sorry, Zeus.

New term, and apparently nothing changed when it came to Benjy's toad. Whether it was tradition, or just excitement in being able to roam freely without the interruption of Benjy's mum with a broom, Flipper had pulled his usual start of term disappearing act.
...hence why Benjy was now scrabbling around on the floor. AGAIN. There was no sign of Benjy's surprisingly hoppy friend though, so Benjamin simply sighed and brushed his trousers down as he stood up. "Silly toad," he muttered, with a shake of his head. "Doesn't know what's good for him."
Especially not when there were kneazles in the Common Room. Benjy looked at the one on the sofa suscpiciously for a moment, before deciding the Flipper couldn't possibly be that stupid. He was far too clever to be eaten like that...plus this particular kneazle wasn't looking all too sprightly right now.
His gaze moved to the girl to whom he presumed the creature belonged, and Benjy smiled pleasantly at the first year. "How're you settling in?"

Yup. He could do sociable.
Looking up from his letter, Austin noticed a Kneazle playing with a shoelace. He wasn't exactly fond of Kneazles, seeming as how their squished faces made them look like something was up. He pulled his bag closer to him, hoping the little rascal didn't go through it. The last thing he needed was all of his notes torn, and to have to redo all of his homework. Upon further inspection, he found that the Kneazle belonged to none other than good ol' Chicken Coop. He chuckled, put his letter in his bag, and walked over to her.
As he came up behind her, he put a hand on her head. "Hey there Chicken Coop." He glanced up at the seventh year, who, presumably, was looking for his toad. Austin hadn't seen a toad recently, but as he looked over to the chair where he was sitting, a small creature had taken his place. So much for sitting there again... He thought.
"Is that yours?" He said, pointing in the direction of the slimy creature.
Was it nice to meet her? Charlie didn't know, but it was nice that Jasmine had said so. Therefore, it was nice to meet her. The brunette nodded a little, before grinning at the new girls next words.
"Sixth?! Me too!" She said, with a grin and a clap. Charlie was absolutely overJOYed, because there was a roommate, and therefore probable BEST FRIEND to last her until they left. And after they left, and all of that jazz. Charlie was suddenly super glad that she'd been sat alone and hadn't been rude and therefore had met Jasmine! "How come you transferred here? It is pretty awesome. We have the best view. And the best people." Like her! WOO!

Well that had to be obvious. She would've noticed when he was sorted if she had been paying any attention. He was like the only kid not a first year sorted into her house! He felt like a giant up there. Bryant grunted quietly in response and turned his attention back to Murphy.
"He's not a cat though... and it can be done because I've seen it done before." Bryant said, shrugging at her response about the name. Murphy seemed to know his name though, because he wandered over to the other human and gave a little kitten mew.
Bryant pulled out a treat again and gently pulled the leash to try and get Murphy's attention. "So you were looking for a toy for your kneazle this summer as like a birthday gift or something?" He asked, giving her a bit of a look. Was this really the same girl he had run into in the DA?

...hence why Benjy was now scrabbling around on the floor.

As Zeus gnawed on her shoelace hungrily with his pointed teeth, Maddie glanced around the common room. She noted the older boy looking like he'd lost something valuable and instead of helping, she decided to try and figure out what it could be without asking. Using his expression for clues, y'see. And with the way he was crawling around on the floor, whatever it was had to be small enough to fit places like under the sofas and chairs. A pet, perhaps? He had looked weirdly at Zeus-Yeah, she caught that-so maybe it was smaller than her feisty feline. Good think the Z-manKneazle had a shoelace to occupy his mind.
"M'settling just fine, thanks." Maddie glanced up at the boy from her place on the floor and tilted her head to the side, observing him. "Did you lose something important?" Cause maybe she WOULD be willing to help if he offered some sort of reward. Did he know lots of SPELLS? Did he have SWEETS? Questions, she had them.
Blink.Blink.HUH?
"Chicken coop?" NO. JUST NO. Maddision promptly swatted Austin's hand away and pulled a face because she DID NOT like that name. It wasn't one of the two approved ones they'd discussed, yes? She did get distracted by what he was saying to the older guy, though.
Maddie's brown eyes looked to where her fellow first year had been sitting and observed the scene curiously. Zeus seemed to take notice of the fact that her attention wasn't on him anymore and so he bent down on his front paws and stuck his tiny bottom in the air, tail swishing back and forth. Ready to pounce, he was.

Benjy slumped down on to the sofa, and pulled out a chocolate frog for munchies. "Glad to hear it," Benjy said, nodding at the first year and watching the kneazle play with her shoelace. "And it's only my toad, Flipper," Benjy shrugged. "Done his usual 'I'm back at Hogwarts' disappearing act. He seems to get very excitable, and just hops on off when I'm not looking."
Nothing really to worry about, as long as there weren't any stray kneazles on the loose. Except well...there were.
Chicken coop? What kind of name was that? Benjy looked confused. It was the sort of name he might have called G for a joke...did someone seriously name their kid that? Poor girl.
And then the boy was pointing to the chair, Benjy grinned. "Yup, that's Flipper." He went to pick the little NON-SLIMY fella up, and stroked him gently. "Always into mischief."
Andrew trudged into the common room, yawning quietly as he made his way over to the fireplace, simply sitting down on the floor in front of it. Putting his books down on the floor beside him, he let out a long, drawn out sigh. It had been a long day, and he'd really gotten enough of those books for the night. Andrew was usually a very diligent and hard working fellow, but infuriatingly there was something about the assignment that he couldn't wrap his head around, and it was driving him insane.
Right about now, he needed something to take his mind off his work. A friend to spend time with maybe? 'Where is Justine?' he thought. Along with his work, she'd been on his mind a lot that day, and he hadn't seen her at all. Was she okay? If he was honest with himself he was a little worried.

Charlie was a sixth year too? Cool. "Well hello roomie", Jasmine said. What were the odds of her meeting a fellow sixth year who knew how it felt to be the new kid? Probably not very good, but Jasmine was glad she had come to the Common Room when she did. Another new friend, yay! "Why did I transfer here? Long story........the bottom line is I pretty much hated it at Beauxbatons. I always felt like an outsider, never fit in. My parents finally gave in to my begging and let me transfer." Maybe another time she could share the rest of the story, but not now. Jasmine didn't want to bore her potential new friend to death right off the bat.
"So you transferred here too, I'm assuming. Where we're you before coming to Hogwarts?" As she asked the question, Jasmine took in the beautiful view that Charlie had mentioned. She had a feeling that she was really going to like it here.
