Professor Culloden is welcoming you by the door again with an eager smile. Only after greeting him can you enter the classroom. The soft, calming blue walls welcome you for this term's earliest lesson. I hope you are well awake, because the chairs with soft cushions, charmed to take the most comfortable shape and height once a student is seated won't help you stay awake. By the door of the potions store room stands one big, grey rubbish bin and a white, porcelain washbasin with a tap for those who wants to wash their hands before/after the class and who can't perform 'Aguamenti' charm.
When you turn your eyes to the blackboard, you see an ENORMOUS magical picture that depicts a grinning Professor Culloden. That's not the peculiar thing about it, though, but that he's lifting a hatcback muggle car over his head as he's doing step aerobics.
What a show-off.
OOC: If you are going to RP your characer use the washbasin or the washbasin, you don't have to take Cosgrach's permission. Just assume he has granted it.
The lesson is in progress, so don't post your characters arriving late! Just act as if they have been there all along.

• 2 kilograms of dragon heart (a few grams more/less doesn’t matter)
• 1 pomegranate
• A cup of re’em blood
• One mature salamander’s blood
• 2 unicorn tail hairs
• Powdered griffin claw
• 2 snake fangs
1. Add 2 litres of water and the unicorn tail hairs one by one
2. Turn the heat to high and add the dragon heart
3. Wait until it boils and add pomegranate
4. Turn the heater to medium and wait for five minutes. In the meantime, mix re’em and salamander blood in a bowl and stir them five times clockwise and five times counter clockwise and crush griffin claw (doesn't have to be a perfect powder - just crush as well as you can withOUT magic).
5. Add the blood mixture slowly and THEN, the powdered griffin claw IMMEDIATELY.
6. Wait for ten minutes and add one snake fang
7. Put the fire out and add the other snake fang
8. Stir counter clockwise once
9. Drink a cup of the potion in one go, while still hot
Notes
- Tastes like metal
- Good for anaemia or lack of iron
- Do not drink more for longer duration, but rather drink another cup after you feel it’s wearing off. If you drink more than a cup, it will make you feel too dizzy to stand straight.
- To conserve for a week after brewing, add a cup of ice from pure water
- The colour is bright yellow
- For the first few minutes after drinking, sit and let your body and muscles adjust to it. Once you feel fresh, go around being super strong, and don't worry: you can control it.
- You can omit the heart part by adding a glass of water, counting to 18 and adding pomegranate. You can also not mix Re’em blood at all and add another pomegranate instead, but this will reduce the effect to one tenth.

She occasionally looked over at flames kid with a watchful eye in case he blew something up or set fire to his face or... heaven forbid.. needed help from a prefect. He wasn't one of her rugrats though, so she wasn't obliged to help, right? Was that how it worked? She probably should know the answer to that question. Nevermind. Watchful eyes anyways. Playing superhero was the 'fessors job. That was what they were paid to do.
When she wasn't looking at other students, she was watching her cauldron as the water did its thing and when it was hot enough that her face would probably melt if she put it in the bubbling water and left it, she added the pomegranate like instructed. Of course, she wouldn't put her face in the cauldron because she had a brain. She also didn't want to be sticking her face in with what had already gone into it.
When waiting for the next step, she updated her notes.

As the next step was presented, Jasmine continued her notetaking. She had learned the hard way that taking good notes was essential to her success in class, not to mention making studying much easier.
Step three involved waiting for her water to boil. Jasmine was not that great at waiting, she was more of a doing kind of person. However, in this case, she had no choice but to watch and wait. After what seemed like an eternity, the water finally began to boil. Jasmine was on it immediately. She picked up her pomegranate and gently lowered it into the boiling water. She watched as it bobbed and dipped in the bubbling water. OK, what next?

The response to her greeting had been interesting to say the least, but Lily didn’t spend too much time wondering about that. At least she’d gotten the professor’s name right, and the lesson had begun not long after she’d settled into her seat. There wasn’t really time to question possibly odd greetings from professors, and she’d had her journal out almost as soon as the picture had rolled away to reveal the potion they’d be brewing. There was an odd sense of pride in her at guessing what that was, yet nobody had asked. There really hadn’t been a lot of discussion at all; instead they had basically moved straight into starting to brew, so she’d pulled her wand out and quietly Scourgified her cauldron again, along with the cup to measure out the water that had been requested. She’d note down the instructions in a bit. Odds are there was going to be time where she was just waiting for things to boil or steep or whatever anyway.
She’d listened to the questions that the others had been asking, however, just out of curiosity. The answers seemed to be important, especially when it came to the origin of some of the ingredients, and she’d thought back to Peru and how they hadn’t seen any of the Peruvian Vipertooth dragons that were supposedly in the region they’d landed in after leaving the Leaky. She doubted that they were going to be using a Vipertooth heart anyhow, but the connection had still clicked in her head. First she had other steps to worry about though, and after casting Aguamenti, she’d quickly measured out two litres of water and added it to her cauldron. That was easy enough, as was carefully dropping the two unicorn tail hairs into the liquid. The only question she had was if they were supposed to already have the fires lit under their cauldrons.
That had been quickly answered, even before she’d been able to ask, as the next step had been given. Time to deal with the dragon heart, but first, she’d leaned down to point her wand under her cauldron and light the flame with a quick Incendio. It shouldn’t take too long to retrieve the heart after all, even if she had to measure it out. Waiting until the line had gone down, she approached the desk where Professor Culloden had set the box containing the heart. Glancing down, she took a moment to try and estimate what she thought was two kilograms. The fact a good portion had already disappeared into the other students’ cauldrons made that easier, and she used a quick Severing charm to cut off a portion to set on the scale. Not quite two kilograms, but after cutting off another tiny portion, she took her allotment and returned to her workstation. Carefully placing the heart into her cauldron with the water and hairs, she adjusted the flame underneath to high and turned her attention back to her journal after they had been given the next step. She had time before it boiled, so she figured it was as good a time as any to write down the notes.
She’d kept an eye on her potion, though, and set the journal down as she noticed it had started to boil. Time for the pomegranate. It didn’t seem like they had to do anything to it, either. She’d seen West simply add the whole thing, so she followed suit. The potion must dissolve it or something. She didn’t see how else it would work, unless they were going to have to strain out the hull later on. So far the potion had seemed easy to brew, though, and she didn’t think straining it made a lot of sense. Either way, she was going to wait for the next step before she did anything.

"Alright, light a fire and turn it to high. Then, measure the dragon heart," he moved to open the box while he talked, because it was sealed with magic, "and add it."
Once the box was opened, he moved behind his desk and sat down to oversee how they measured it.
Yeah yeah he had cleaned his cauldron. Way ahead of you man. Kevin grabbed his Phoenix feather wand out of his wrist holster again and pointed it under the cauldron "Incendio" he said. Nothing happened. Typical. "Incendio!" he tried again and this said he said the incantation more firmly and a high fire started.
Now time for the dragon heart! But first he needed to grab it. Which meant walking up to the front and towards ...him... ugh. Putting on his gloves, he marched to the front of the class and while completely ignoring the Professor he grabbed a dragon heart before spinning back around and walking back to his seat.
How did he measure this? The second year looked around to see how others were handling this but there was too much commotion going on. Seriously, the Professor should be HAPPY to have him in class! Yes they kind of loathed each other but at least he wasn't disrupting the lesson! He deserved a medal and a thank you hmpf.
Cleaning his scale with a scourgify, the Gryffindor weighted the dragon heart and found that it was too large. He grabbed a knife , cleaned it as well before chopping off a part and weighted it again. It wasn't perfect but okay enough for him. He eyed the blackboard to see the instructions and added the heart in to the cauldron.

This step wasn't as easy as most people thought it was, at least to Kevin. Why? because he hated waiting and sitting still. So as he waited for his cauldron to boil the second year twirled and dropped his wand on the floor a few times around his fingers. BOOOORING! When the potion began to boil, Kevin grabbed the pomegranate and added it to the cauldron.
He hadn't made any trouble so far..he REALLY deserved a medal! Yes he was going to be dissapointed if he did not get any after class...
Michael had been watching the Slytherin guy (Abel) add his ingredients to his cauldron and he was just sliding off his stool to go and help the guy out when the Professor struck. And Merlin could that man move.
Sliding back onto his stool, Michael could only watch in sympathy for a moment before peeking into his own cauldron to see if it was boiling yet.
Nope.
Only simmering.
He cast a furtive glance over to the Slytherin again and hoped that he was doing okay after the Professor's burning look. A small noise from his cauldron pulled his attention away from his neighbour and he noticed that the water was finally boiling. So he added the pomegranate and then waited for further instructions.

An............. entire pomegranate? Gosh, this was gonna be one lumpy potion.
As the heat was on high, it didn't take too long for Toby's potion to come up to a boil, and as soon as it did, he took a whole pomegranate and dropped it into the bubbling liquid, careful not to let any splash. This potion was weird.
But then a horrible thought struck Toby. They'd have to test this potion, right? Like... this dragon heart potion? Tobias................................... wasn't sure about that. In fact, he went pale just at the thought.
Oh dear.

So far, so good, yea? Trent was still able to stand steadily even if he knew he would be facing the b-word soon. It was quite inevitable. But as of the moment he didn't want to think about that. It was difficult to do, however, when even the starring ingredient for the next step looked as though it was oozing with the b-word.
You can do this, he thought, this is just a fruit. You won't even get to see what's inside it. It's far from the b-word. That's right. This was just a fruit. Clearing his throat, Trent checked to see if the water in his cauldron was now boiling and when he confirmed that it was, the Ravenclaw added in the pomegranate.

Hey, look! Freckles was getting on Professor Culloden's nerves BIG time. Kid even got invited to leave the class already! That took some serious skill. Maddie watched the little interaction curiously and then decided that a) Culloden didn't like to explain himself more than once and b) Freckles was a dragon advocate. Or maybe an animal one. OR he just liked speaking up for those who couldn't speak for themselves (Dead dragon, in this case). It was all fun to observe but then more potion instructions were given and the small brunette had to change gears and get back to what she was doing.
Waiting for the potion to boil was sort of boring but eventually tiny bubbles turned into larger ones and Maddie reached for the pomegranate. She then let it fall into the potion and looked up to the front again.

What was with the other students causing trouble? At least no one he really knew was involved but it wasn't like Ben couldn't hear both them and the professor responding to them. And it was just plain silly or stupid. Potions needed enough concentration and being distracted by stuff like they were pulling was bad.
Thankfully they were soon moving on to the next step, the troublemakers getting an ultimatum. Boil and pomegranate...certainly easy as the professor remarked. Keeping attention on the cauldron to notice when it finally boiled, the third year was all set to add the fruit once it was ready. Another careful addition to the developing potions as the whole fruit had threatened to just drop in.

Grumpy teacher. Great. Just another perfect addition to this week. Derry was glad her fringe was getting kinda long for once, cause it was hiding the little crease of a frown in her forehead. ... Eh, everyone had bad days... But it just didn't help the learning process, y'know?
Plus she hadn't added the dragon heart before he started with his next instruction. She'd been inspecting it closely... wondering what was so special about this particular muscle. She supposed it was richer in blood and iron than other muscles... and the heartstrings were used in wands. But... it was still just a muscle, right? All animals had them.
Anyway, adding the dragon heart, she quickly jotted down the next instruction.

...Really? Just... add the pomegranate? No prep? Just drop it in? Weird. But at least she didn't have to faff around with the seeds. Derry put the pomegranate into her cauldron, careful to make sure there would be no splashback, and waited for the next instruction. Bring it on, grumpy guts.

Ewwww, hearts, ewwwww.
Theo wasn't nauseous when it came to certain potions ingredients but he still disapproved of touching the majority of them. Let alone drinking them once he was done. Gross! With a tiny sigh he used his wand to turn the heat on underneath his cauldron and then he waited for the scales and heart to be free for him to retrieve his slice. Did he have to CUT this heart to size? Noooooooooo, the horror!!!!
As soon as the coast was pretty much clear, Theo got up to do the deed. He couldn't look at it at first but soon decided to man up which led him to cut off what he felt he would need. Of course he still had to measure it so he plopped his cut onto the scales and cut off any extra bits that he didn't need.
There. Two kilograms.
His chin wobbling from disgust, Theo returned to his desk and quickly added the heart to his cauldron. DONE. Right. Done.

Dang, Culloden was gruuuumpy today.
Back to the potion - Theo could hear it boiling but he still didn't watch it. After a few minutes he gave it a quick peek and yeah, it was definitely boiled. Good. He was appreciative that the next step was an easy one. He fetched the pomegranate and added it with no problems.

Somehow AJ was actually able to keep up with the class. Sure, she struggled and lagged a bit, but her head was remaining above water and she ask much more than that for her first ever lesson. It looked like some other kids were keeping the professor busy and away from her flames that were still higher than everybody else's, and that was just fine in her book. If anything with her water being so hot, her potion will most likely be better than the others.
Listening to the next step, she was kind of relieved to hear that no magic was involved on,y because she was really struggling with her spell work, and it would be nice to be able to be ahead for once. Looking at her water confirmed that it was indeed boiling. Of course with her flames she was sure that it had been boiling for quite some time now. AJ added the pomegranate. She was done. She swung her feet back and forth under her desk as she waited for the next batch of instructions.

Adi had finished writing down the instructions for step two and was now patiently waiting for Professor Culloden to continue. He couldn't help grinning from time to time at some of the new students. The one who called the Professor a weird name was the funniest yet! Ah poor Culloden.
When step three was given, Adi added these instructions down as he waited for his potion to boil. After it started to do so, he carefully added the pomegranate. Next step, please!
Everything still was going good. The heart didn't freak her out as bad as she though it would. Not bad at all. She could not wait to finish this potion up and try it out. So she could be super strong.
She went into some sort of daydream mode or something. Waiting on the next step. Or trying to wait. No patients here for the girl. Once she came back to realty. She realized that the lesson was moving forward.
She wrote down the next step.

As soon as she had written down the step. Her water was already boiling. Thanks to her daydreaming. That was just enough time for the water to start to boil. Since it was boiling she carefully dropped the pomegranate down into the cauldron.

"Coming," he called to the girl, and moved from Mo's table to hers. "What's -"
He was breaking world records today, did anyone appreciate that? In almost no time, his wand was in his hands and the potion was vanished.
COULD HE VANISH HER TOO? COULD HE?
"Care to explain what happened?" Hmm?
Bree felt a sense of relief as the professor came over and vanished her potion but that faded to dim as he asked what happened. Er, this was certainly a story for the ages no. And he seems angry, great.

Bree looked up toward the professor with puppy dog eys and said, "I'm sorry, I'm rather new to magical stuff and was rather grossed out by seeing the innards of a creature and ended up puking in the potion. I'm really sorry, I assure you, it was not a voluntary reaction.", Bree replied sheepishly.

Well so far he hadn't been singled out so that meant he was doing alright? right? Waiting for the Professor to look at everyone else's measurement of the heart he lightly drummed his fingers over his desk. After the last student was done the whole class received the third step, so Bay wrote it done on his notes.

This seemed easy enough just like the professor said. Watching the cauldron he waited to see any bubbles.. "come on bubbles" he said to himself. Still drumming his fingers along the top of the desk it passed the time while he waited for it to boil. As soon as it was at a boil thought "I wonder if you just place the whole thing in?" but looking around seeing other students doing that, so he carefully put in the pomegranate. Following his own set of order he crossed off the ingredient he had placed in just to keep him on track.

People we're stupid, really. He had no idea how anyone could of possibly messed up thus far in the process or how they were confused about the heart.. it was ONE heart and you were to take TWO Kilos of it. Really, it wasn't brain surgery. Clearly if people couldn't understand how to do such simple tasks they shouldn't be taking potions... ever. it was a disgrace. He wasn't even the best at the subject and he was going through like a breeze of fresh air.
Then you waaaaiiiiitttt for your potion to boil from your heat and as he waited he jotted down the next step of adding the pomegranate. He liked pomegranate and he wondered if this was needed for flavor or scent cause they were nice. He glanced over at Beverly who seemed to be breezing through the steps as well he gave her a smile before noticing his potion was Boiling!
"perfect." he muttered to himself before grabbing his fruit and carefully but slowly placing it into his cauldron. was anything going to happen now?

Now all he had to do was add the pomegranate? That was easy enough. He sat there, arms crossed as he waited for the potion to being to bubble and boil once it got hot enough. It felt like foreverrrrr, but after a few minutes, the fire had heated the water to the proper temperature. Bubbles began to break on the surface, signalling that it was boiling and ready for the pomegranate. So Caleb took it and PLOP! Dropped it right in. Awesome. Next step please!

He closed the door once Vesper'd entered and turned to the class. He was stading at the right side of the picture not to block their sight, and grinned at them.
"Welcome to the first class of this term," he said, "I'm Cosgrach Culloden, for those who don't know me, and this is my second term teaching." So, NO 'Collarbin, Dima and Lucy, see? C-U-L-L-O-D-E-N. His eyes were on Alexa, though, and his teeth were clenched momentarily before he relaxed himself. Today was a beautiful day, and it would be even better when he and she had a chat at his office.
"Today, we'll brew a strength potion that will enable you to," he took a deep breath not to laugh, "lift a car like I'm doing in this picture. Not just for entertainment, though. It was used to carry all kinds of material in the past, beginning from ancient times, for building and stuff," yeah yeah, he didn't know why else people moved stuff and they shouldn't question that, that wasn't the point, "so we see some of those historical buildings thanks to it." He grinned proudly. They could tell it was one of his favourite potions. "It is very easy to brew, and it is good for anaemia, lack of red blood cells in the blood. It makes you dizzy and causes lack of strength, so if you don't want to bother with a proper health potion," or lack the ability to do it, "I suggest you brew this. It's also good for lack of iron, so let's start brewing!"
He didn't want to fold his amazing picture, but the kids should also learn this potion, so he tapped his wand at it and it folded itself to open the blackboard.
"As dragon heart is actually expensive, and rare," he eyed them all for it to sink, "you have to use it carefully. One heart should be enough for all the class, and uh," he glanced at his empty table, "I'll bring it and the scale while you do the first step." No one sight problems, he hoped? He didn't need to read it out himself, right?
Right.
With that, he quickly opened the door of store room and entered to get them.
OOC: The class has started, so please do not post your characters arriving late. Just act as if they have been there all along.
The class will continue about 11 hours later.
"The professor wants to see you in his office after class," he told Lex cheerfully as he wiggled onto the stool next to her. Setting down his stuff, the first year reached into his bag for some parchment and a quill. He'd need that, right? Notes and all? They took those in school, Dima knew!
But his cheerful mood began to disappear as the professor began speaking. Culloden? Cosgrach Culloden? Not... not Corkrash Collarbin?
That prefect had lied to him.
Suddenly growing sulky, Dima scribbled down the ingredients without looking at them much and tried not to wish he was sitting somewhere else. Somewhere that wasn't next to mean and lying badged people who didn't play TRICKS on new first years.
That cleaning spell that everyone was using on their cauldrons? Was anyone going to teach it to him before expecting him to cast it? He couldn't exactly pick up the movements and exact sound of the incantation just from observing, so Dima picked up his cauldron (which was quite hard. Tiny eleven year old arms here, okay?) and waddled over to the washbasin. He spent a few moments scrubbing the inside of his cauldron clean.
And since he was there and getting water and all, he went ahead and filled his cauldron too. Yeah! Two liters! Woohoo!
Or... it looked like it. Whatever.
Hugging his cauldron to his tummy, he carefully hobbled his way back to his workstation and set his cauldron down without spilling a drop. Ta-da! He made sure it was steady on the tabletop before reaching into his bag and finding his potions kit, drawing two unicorn tail hairs out of it and dropping them in one by one.
Man, school was HARD.

Procedure
• clean cauldron ✔
• fill cauldron with water ✔
• add unicorn tail hairs one by one ✔
• turn heat to high
• add dragon heart
And then Dima paused.
DRAGON heart? They killed a DRAGON?
He looked over at the freckled boy making a ruckus about it and was just about to join in when Marcus Orion asked about it. If... if it died of natural causes, it was okay, right? No dragons were hurt in the making of this potion? Right? Eight?
So he supposed he could perform that step... after he got his burner going. How did he do that again?
"Grayson." Psssst. Dima would have asked Lex for help, except he was still cross about her and her LIES. And Grayson was sorta close-ish! Close enough to hear him, at least. "Can you light my burner for me?" .... "Please?"[/QUOTE]
Just look how happy and eager he'd looked after 'getting the name right'. Of course Lex was grinning at him as he finally settled onto the stool next to her. Loads of chocolate frogs points to you. Mhm. The grinning slowly died though...at the mention of Collarbin wanting to see her after class.
Oh Merlin. Whatever happened to exploding in public then letting things GO? That was what she'd expected 'cause see, even Kyroh had messed up his name. Not a very good argument considering Kyroh was only a firstie but STILL. Lex's eyes shifted back to the Professor. It kinda explained why he'd been giving her those eyes earlier....eh....maybe it still wouldn't be so bad.
And again she was wrong in her thinking. Dima looked....well he looked upset and clearly he was because she was sitting RIGHT HERE and he'd bothered to ask Grayson? Really? She scowled. Had he taken it that personally? Her gaze fell on Mikey. "He could have asked me too. I'm sitting here and saved the seat for him." Not Mikey, not Grayson. Which reminded her. Hazel eyes now on Grayson. "Next time he asks for help, tell him that's my job." Got it?
Now then, she turned to Dima and gave him a little nudge. "You're not upset are you? It was only a joke, a joke at the Professor and see it's fine, only I got in trouble." Don't take it so personally. Merlin, what was he, a Puffer? "If it makes you feel better I guess I'm sorry. Didn't think you'd be that upset." Was she the only one who could appreciate a joke?

Except, he also apparently talked too much, and Cosgrach didn't like that type while brewing a potion. Could the kid tell the Professor wasn't impressed by him?
"No one has a dragon at home," he said simply, EYEEEED the amount of heart he took, and turned away to catch the next trouble maker.
HAŞAKŞSDJP NOOOOOOOO -
Cosgrach didn't know in how many seconds he reached his cauldron, but he was sure it was world record. He also didn't know when his wand had slipped into his hand and vanished ALL but the dragon heart inside the cauldron, but he was pretty sure that was world record too. He then magically elevated the dripping heart and turned his BURNING eyes at the boy.
Could he feel the heat emanating from his eyes? Did it burn him? GOOD!
"Did it touch the unicorn hairs in the cauldron?" he asked in this death voice.
ANSWER, CHILD!
Cosgrach nodded and GRINNED at the boy.
Clean as he went! What a WISE boy!
Oh, that answered his question. Cosgrach nodded and smiled.
"Of course, Mr. Branxton."
SIR! That was HIM! Cosgrach had to look for a short while until he found the little boy that the voice and hand belonged to, and -
He flushed in anger and turned his back to the kid, even if it meant he was standing at a funny angle now. Nope. No answering to you, because he was not 'Cupboardbin'. Seriously, who teached these RUDE names to kids? Kids were supposed to be KIND and easy to scare, so that they would listen to HIM, but this lot, he didn't know...
"What if I don't like you and state that in a letter home?" he retorted back, face flushed with anger, because that was QUITE an accusation and wrong name or not, he had to clear his name. "If you'd been listening carefully, boy, you'd have heard that only ONE! dragon heart is enough for the whole class and that it had DIED! with natural causes." What did he do, instead? Being a SPOILT KID and wasting two unicorn tail hairs. Did he know how valuable those were?
No wonder he hadn't had a kid.
"You're free to leave the class. I'm not holding you against your will." He frowned and GLARED at the boy once more, and turned away from him again. "And the name is Culloden." Next time something funny, Cosgrach would throw him out himself.
Y'know, she was lucky he saw the hand in this commotion.
"What's the problem?" he asked as he approached the girl - instinctively looking at her cauldron to see if it went wrong. But it didn't. So?
Well, ignoring those trouble makers and how much he hated them, he turned to the class again as he tapped his wand on the board and new instruction appeared.
"Waiting and adding the pomegranate without any process, easy enough," he called to them - if anyone messed this step up, they would find themselves out of the classroom.
Such a beautiful day turned bad with a few silly students.
Glancing over she saw that Aubrey was getting on better with her casting and gave her a little smile. It was good getting the basics. It made you feel better when the hard spells came that they wouldn't be getting them so easy.
Lex tried paying attention once more, despite the constant distraction of thinking what the Professor might have wanted to speak with her after class for. She could only say sorry so many times before he realized she didn't mean it and already one time was too many. Of course, this really wasn't any more serious than the time Felix attacked him so....maybe there really was nothing to worry about.
She let the solution sit for a bit--the waiting like he'd said- then plopped the pomergranate in. There was no specific way to do this. She couldn't be wrong, unless the Professor was wrong. Now there was a thought.

Since Professor Culloden hadn't singled her out, Lux happily assumed that she had done the last step correctly. After going to wash her hands because they felt icky after holding the heart, she returned to her cauldron.
The next step seemed easy enough; not too much waiting was involved so she wouldn't become restless. Lux did not like playing the waiting game, she preferred being active. Jotting down the next bit of instructions seemed to help kill a bit of time.

Propping her head in her hands, Lux watched her cauldron intently. She did not want to miss when the bubbles started to form. Why did it always seem that the faster you wanted time to go, the slower it appeared to?
After what seemed like forever, the moment came, and Lux carefully placed the pomegranate into the cauldron.
There. Done. Smiling to herself, she crossed that step off.

"Want me to light your fire?" Mo gave Cat a cheeky look and waved his wand at her. Please?
He was delaying the inevitable moment that he'd have to go handle that dragon heart. There was something about the death of a majestic creature like a dragon that really got him down, and Mo couldn't help but slump a bit as he made his way to the professor's desk where he carefully double-triple-quadruple checked his measurement of dragon heart. Two kg was quite a lot, and he wasn't about to waste even an ounce.
"Thank you, sir," Mo managed before traipsing back to his desk and giving Cat mournful looks. The dragon heart went into his cauldron, and Mo had to force himself to watch it slide beneath the surface. Ugh, it STILL hurt a bit.
Oh. Oh good. See? That was exactly what Cat had been hoping for. Natural causes had been the end of the dragon. She took a moment to hope that he or she had had a nice long life and a nice family to spend it with and she tossed a smile at Mo too. However, she needed to start paying attention again because she was about to start thinking about baby dragons again, and with Caterina, thinking about baby anythings was a very distracting topic.
'Dragons don't like dirt.' Sassy professor was sassy and Cat laughed a little as she glanced at Mo, who was being adorable. "Yes please." She wiggled her eyebrows at him. He could light her fire since he liked using his cool new trick so much. Besides, she had to admit it was rather impressive. You go, Branxton! After her fire was lit, Cat went forth to collect the dragon heart, measuring out two kilograms super carefully and blowing a kiss at it before she dumped it all into her cauldron. Farewell, noble dragon. She patted Mo's arm helpfully cause she knew that he was also sad about the dragon, more than she was, probably.
Then she just needed to wait for the water to boil, which didn't take too long, considering the flame was high like needed. She carefully slipped the pomegranate into the bubbling water and grinned triumphantly. Another step DOWN.

'Cause he had traumatic experiences with fire, okay? Ones involving an Ollivander's shopkeeper and some hair. Ahem.
"Incendio. In-SEN-dee-oh." He repeated the words as Grayson said them, trying to trace a flame-like pattern above his cauldron burner while his current spell instructor stomped around like a giant. What was he doing? Huh? Was that part of the spell movement too?
Focus, Toussaint. "Incendio!"
And then there was fire! Except on no one's head this time.
"Thanks man! Dragon Boy can make fire now!" Yeah! He did another puny muscle man pose for the Slytherin, bringing his fists together and completing the image with a tiny growl before getting back to work. Right. Dragon-who-died-of-natural-causes heart time.

This kid picked up things quickly. GOOD.
Grayson let out a snort of laughter. LOL. Dragon Boy. "Looks like you don't need a chilli powder bean to unleash your inner dragon." Wink. "And you're welcome." See? He had manners too. He smiled at the boy and was about to turn around and head back to his seat when.............
.......................... Lex had to go and unleash her inner feisty.
Rawr.
On second thoughts, no. Just no.
Eyebrows were being raised as he looked over at her. Jeez, one of the few times he was being NICE and HELPFUL, somebody had to go and berate him for it? Merlin. And to think people asked why he was the way he was. He also didn't expect this from ALEXA, who he had almost gone on to call one of the cool Prefects. That was a big compliment coming from the fourth year.
"Just thought I'd help the kid out." Since he asked for him specifically. Meaning that the Slytherin was doing something right and little Dima wanted to learn from him. Who wouldn't? His blue eyes glanced over at the Professor quickly before looking back at the Gryffindor. Sigh. This was going to take a lot out of him. "I'll keep that in mind, then." He shot her a small, albeit a bit forced, smile before heading back to his seat. Jeez.
Right. Potion. He furrowed his thick eyebrows and peered over at the board. Wait until it boils and then add in the pomegranate. A quick glance over at his cauldron told him that it hadn't boiled sooooo he looked over at his ingredients and his notebook instead. A whole pomegranate, was it? These things were a right hassle to try and eat. The effort was enough to put him off, no mater how nice it smelled.
And his potion was boiling. Good. Taking the pomegranate, he added it into the potion.

The lesson seemed to be going very quickly today and he wasn’t sure whether it was down to the Professor’s obvious mood. He didn’t dare speak and was following the instructions so precisely so that he didn’t make a mistake. He didn’t want to be on the Professor’s bad side after all.
He carefully moved things out of the way as he set up his cauldron onto the fire. With a flick of his wand, Terry turned the heat up to the ‘high’ setting, watching the flames with his eyes before tearing them away to watch the students going over and cutting their pieces off the dragon heart.
He waited patiently for the heart and the scales to become free before wandering over to it. It didn’t look to grotesque but the thought of where it had come from was a little disheartening. No pun intended. Still, the Culloden had explained that the Dragon died from natural causes in a reserve and the Slytherin felt comfortable enough to go and cut off his two kilograms. Which he did, carefully and slowly using his scalpel and then weighing it on the scales to exactly the right measurement. He wasn’t willing to make a mistake today. He headed back over to his cauldron and carefully added the slice of heart into his cauldron, head tilted slightly at an angle before awaiting the next instruction.
Which had come fairly swiftly after he had finished the last step. He lifted his chin up to glance over at the board with a slight look of confusion. A whole pomegranate? Nothing done to it? No slicing, or cutting, or removing the pulp? Well.. Okay. That was fairly easy to do, wasn’t it? He picked up his pomegranate and added it into his potion.
