Lucy turned at the other classmates..She began to follow step by step what were doing the older students near her..
Lucy got out her wand and said "Scorgify", moving her wand like a boy was showing beside her and she saw her cauldron cleaned.
Lucy looked at her instructions.. Her mates now were filling there cauldron with water from there wand..She copied them and said "Aguamenti" and she was excited that water was starting to fill her cauldron..
Now her cauldron was full up to two liters.
At last Lucy added the unicorn tail hair one after the other and then she waited the following instructions.

Adi watched as Angel gave the spell a go. He noted she still looked nervous. That was easily understood. It was one of her first classes after all. He didn't actually remember it but he was sure he had been nervous quite a bit in his first year too.

"Excellent, Angel!'' Adi flashed her a thumbs up. "Just remember to use the spell on all of your equipment before you use them otherwise, Professor Culloden will make you start over again.'' That could be very time consuming. "If you need help with anything else, let me know.'' Or would she rather Benny help her? Hehe.

After he copied what the board said into his notes and sat his quill down Ezra realized he'd forgotten the Unicorn hairs.

Ummm no he didn't...

He looked around sneakily and found the grouping of silvery thin hairs and slowly added them one by one before the Professor could notice he'd forgotten.

STEP ONE = FINSHED

Was she sat on her own? Yes. Did she care? No. She had a comfy seat and class things to be doing so it mattered not that she had no one to talk to or make faces at over her cauldron. And it meant she'd be able to concentrate a little more, but also think of the things she probably shouldn't have been thinking of. Like her boyfriend. Like the distance between Scotland and South Africa. On second thoughts...maybe that wasn't the best thing to be thinking of. She'd just put everything into concentrating and getting this right.

Blood, blood and more blood. Well okay. This was fine. Blood didn't make her dizzy anymore and if she was going to do what she thought she was in the future, then it was a good job.

She like pomegranates though. Waaaste of good stuff right THERE. She opened up her notebook for this class and turned to the page after the end of last school year. Goodbye sixth year. Hello seventh. Oh. That was kind of sad.

It was common sense, or at least..she thought it was, to make sure you cleaned everything before starting and that was what she started with. A scourgify here, a scourgify there, a few more, maybe a little twirl or maybe not, and a tergeo to make sure it was definitely clean because she had used her cauldron for storage over the summer. That wasn't her fault. She'd ran out of boxes. All clean. BadamdUSH. She won. A rosette for the seventh year. Please hold your applause.

AND NOW FOR WATER. THE SOLE EXPLANATION FOR HER LIVING UNTIL SEVENTEEN. (Or maybe that was something to do with the fact she hadn't died yet? Nah. It was all water.)

"Aguamenti!" There it was. There it WAS. Hold your applause. Hold it. She measured out two litres of water to make sure she'd gotten it right, purely because measurements were important and she couldn't just wing it without having inner turmoil and making ugly faces. So. Yeah. With that done, Els added just a tiny tick besides the word water in her instructions and read the rest of the step.

One unicorn hair. Two unicorn hair. Added. Scoooore. NEXT STEP PLEASE.

Ignore the little celebratory dance and the ticking next to the end of her instructions. Ignore it all.

APPLAUSE.

Dragon. Heart.

Dragon heart?

Well... how had this dragon died, exactly? Cat felt that this knowledge was very necessary. If the dragon had died of natural causes, then sure, okay, but had the dragon died so students at Hogwarts could learn to lift cars over their heads?! No. Surely no. That was silly. Nodding to herself, Caterina carried on cleaning out her cauldron and filling it up with water. Two litres of water. No thinking about dead dragons.

Oh! Baby dragons though! Baby dragons were so CUUUUUTTTEEE. With their itty bitty tails. She wondered if baby dragon tails flopped around when they were happy like Sharky's tail did.

Wait. Thoughts back on track, please, Moretti. She hadn't even started with the water yet. Focusing on the task at hand and not on baby dragons (and what she would name one if she had a pet baby dragon), Cat filled the two litres of water and then added in the unicorn tail hair, watched it float a little, then the other. Then her eyes went toward the store room where the DRAGON HEART was.

Ohhhhhhhh. Strength and stuff. Marigold had had an inkling of that as what was in store for the class, but she didn't expect it to be RIGHT. But it was, so she quickly copied the ingredients and first step into her notes.

She took her cauldron and placed it in the center of her desk before rolling up the sleeves of her robes. Two liters of water. She took her wand out and muttered a quick "Aguamenti." She measured it out before pouring it into her cauldron, of course. She was a fourth year, she didn't want any explosions happening. That was reserved for the firsties. And maybe Z or Mikey or whatever his name was.

And then unicorn hairs. She took the first one and carefully added it, then the second one. She stretched her arms behind her then sat up straight, ready for the next instruction.

Oh. Merlin. Mo watched the list of ingredients go up on the board with an ever increasing sense of dread. A whole dragon heart? And all that blood? Was a little magical strength worth the life force of so many creatures? His face went chalky and Mo felt a clammy sweat creep down his back.

No. Branxton. Focus. He'd done a lot of thinking and reading on this over the summer, and Mo was trying not to overreact this term. He needed top NEWT scores, after all, if he wanted to get into university. He had steps prepared in case this issue came up this term. Mo's hand shot up. "Professor? Can you... are you willing to share how these ingredients were harvested? The heart and... and the blood?"

In the meantime, Mo Scourgified his cauldron and implements and filled his cauldron with a flick of his wand. "Aguamenti." Now... who needed help? Cat was ok? Yup, she was great. Mo dropped one of his unicorn hairs into the water, watched it float around, and then added the other. That was a harmless start, at least.

Austin listened carefully, and gulped as he heard that they were going to use a Dragon Heart. Dragons were innocent creatures, and he tried not to think of the people who would poach Dragons for their hearts. He was a little disappointed, though, because he thought there would be a lot of health potions they would learn. But it was only their first class, and he couldn't expect the professor to teach them all the health potions in their first year. But this did seem like a handy potion to keep on hand until he learned a proper health potion.

After opening his muggle notebook (he found them easier to take notes on), and copied what was on the board, Austin pulled his cauldron over. Two liters. He thought. That shouldn't be hard. He placed his wand over a measuring glass, and spoke the words 'Aguamenti'. He made sure to measure out two liters before pouring it into the cauldron. Once it was all in there, he pulled over the unicorn hairs. He carefully separated the hairs, and placed the first one in. Once it had settled into the water, he placed the second one in. Done! He thought proudly. This was a lot easier than he thought!

Would it be uncalled for for him to openly Flail about the room cause he was SO RIGHT!!!!!!! SUPER HUMAN STRENGTH! it was every Comic readers dream, really and he was so so so pumped for this!! Wiggling in his chair slightly he turned and grinned at Beverly, could she tell he was excited cause he was totally excited! Looking down into his cauldron he made a face before pulling his wand out and giving it a nice clean, "Scourgify" look at how shiny! His eyes twinkled down at it, he was kinda excited. glancing over at the person next to him he had to fight hard to hold a chuckle as she whispered and grinned at him, heh Hi.

Looking up at the board he jotted down the steps thus far onto his parchment before preparing his wand and casting Aguamenti over his cauldron until he had what he assumed was two liters of water into his cauldron, yes good perfect even. His next step was to add two unicorn hairs one at a time which he already along with the rest of his ingredients at his station.one... he leaned over and watched as it fell into the water, two good, yes see he was good at this! so far anyway

Her cauldron was clean and now she needed water. Errr... surely there was a spell for that. She glanced in the direction of Lex and noticed that she seemed to be submersed into her own cauldron. AJ was sure about the spell because she forgot to pay attention to those around her, and well here she was about to get passed up on the first step.

Looking around her to see if anybody had any bottles of water laying around she spotted a sink. Aha! The first year was just going to use that so she could back on track. She would hunt down an older student later and ask about the water spell. AJ walked over and carefully measured the water and brought it back, and emptied it in her cauldron. Unicorn hair time. She was in shock that she was actually holding real life unicorn hair. This was so awesome. "Professor, can I get a unicorn for a pet?" Like, was that possible at all? Next to a house elf that was something else that she wanted. Carefully she added the unicorn hairs one by one so she could hold on to them longer. Done. She looked over at Angel and noticed that she was getting help from Adi and Abby seemed to be doing okay as well.

Vinnie sat on her spot and listened to the professor carefully. A dragon heart? How did he get a dragonheart and all that blood? Or....maybe the brunette didnt want to know.... No she really didnt.

At least the potion seemed to help with a lot and the historical aspects were not to forget. Especially since The Slytherin was into history....a lot. So lets focus on the good aspects o the potions for history. Yes, good.

Eyeing the cauldron in front of her, Vinnie didnt really like potions but she didnt really have anything against it either. It was just there. She had no idea why she even took it for OWLs....well you didnt really get far with DADA and history only. Why did the world have to be so complicated. Sigh.

So the fifth year went to get the two liters of water for her cauldron and poured them into it. Okay what was next? She looked up to read the blackboard again.

Oh yeah unicorn tail hair. Two, one by one. The girl put one in first and then the other. Okay, first step done. What was next?

He also saw those that were helping people, and although he didn't call out their names, he took mental note before he tapped his wand on the blackboard to show the next step.

"I hope you've all cleaned your cauldrons," he said as he EYED them, "because dragons don't like dirt." Clear? Clear.

"Alright, light a fire and turn it to high. Then, measure the dragon heart," he moved to open the box while he talked, because it was sealed with magic, "and add it."

Once the box was opened, he moved behind his desk and sat down to oversee how they measured it.

Okay, that was that. That was good, right? .... She took the dish of dragon heart and her scales back to her desk.

"I cleaned mine Professor Cull--" what was it? "oden!" he totally remembered. He pointed at his cauldron to show him. Right now there was just clear water with two hairs floating in it but still.

Now they needed to get the heart. HE WAS GOING TO TOUCH IT!

Maybe not touch it because he probably wasn't supposed to with his hands. Oh but first the fire. He looked all over the place for what the fire spell was. He decided that maybe his textbook would have something to say about the subject. The first year opened it to the first page and then flipped to something labeled the basics. 'Fire....fiiiiire.' Where was it?

"There it is." Incendio.

Ezra looked around the bottom of the cauldron and took a guess where to light it. He poked his wand underneath. "Incendio." Nothing. "C'monnnn. Incendiooo." Nothing again. "Indendio." He said slowly pronouncing each syllable. A flame flickered underneath and he concentrated on intensifying it since it said 'turned all the way'. He didn't notice that the bit of some random herb in his supplies had caught fire.

After peering contently at his cauldron as the water began to heat up, he finally smelled the smoke. "Uhh..." he momentarily flailed his arms as he looked to the older students nearby before taking a flip-flop and smacking the embers until they were gone.

"Sorry." he said in the direction of the Potions man. Nothing was ruined it was okay.

Yeah, it figured she'd find it easier if Lex did it for her but she'd see, in the long run, she'd have been happier cleaning her own cauldrons. Being coddled didn't seem like something First Years would like, she figured they'd be all for trying to gain some magical independence now that they could so she gave a firm nod indicating her stance. Not casting, just offering advice.

Her attention had only shifted briefly before it was brought back by the tugging at her robes. "Hey, you did! See? Nothing to it once you concentrate and have the right intent." Key things when spell casting. She would let her get back to her work though. If she needed her she'd tug again, and Lex was now keeping an eye on her anyway so all was good.

Turning to her own cauldron again, she gave a tap beneath it. "Incendio." She turned the fire as high as it would go--what? He did say 'high' then got to measuring her chunk of the dragon heart. It wasn't exactly 2 kg but it was close enough and the instructions said it didn't matter. Dare she trust Culloden with estimations? She probably shouldn't ...but it was awfully close and she didn't want to go cutting more so fine. Believing him just this once.

There. Dragon heart added.

....And Ezra was setting things on fire. Sure. Why not? Glancing at him he saw he was fine enough though, all good.

The blonde looked up at the towards the professor as he began to speak. Emmylou wasn't sure what class was going to be her favorite but she was going to try her best at keeping up with all the lessons and homework. Was this professors name Cosgrach Culloden? That was such a cool name. He had a unique name like her. Emmylou hadn't met to many people with the same name as hers so it was nice to see a professor with a super cool name! Emmylou took out a piece of paper and a pencil, she had a feeling that it would be weird for people to see her with a notebook and a pencil, it was very muggle-like but she needed to keep everything in order and this stuff was the best.

Aww, it's sad that the dragon had to die because of this potion. Yay, strength potion? Emmylou didn't know if she should be happy or sad, with all the strength you could be a superhero and those things were pretty cool, yeah? The third year added two liters of water and carefully added the unicorn tail hairs one by one. She was honestly very focused on it, she didn't want to mess anything up.

Emmylou looked back up at the board again and noticed that the second step was already up. Emmy quickly wrote it down in her notebook and did exactly what it said.

Emmylou turned the heat on the high setting and carefully added the dragons heart and whispered "Sorry." to it. She felt pretty back about having to do that to the poor dragons heart. She would get over it at some point today.

THEY WERE GOING TO BECOME LIKE SUPERMAN!

Or...you know. Something like that.

That was all Kyroh really got from the 'super strength' introduction.

Turning to his cauldron he peered inside. Uhhhh. It had to be cleaned right? Kyroh drew his wand. He had yet to use it of course. His mum had taught him the proper way to hold it and how to flick his wrist just right for most spells but he hadn't USED it before. How was he just suppose to know? Glancing around the classroom the first year shifted uncomfortably.

Scourgify? That's what most students were- OHOH The cleaning spell? Yeah? Maybe? Pointing his wand at the cauldron, Kyroh took a deep breath. "Scoooogurgify." He whispered, slightly stumbling over the foreign word.

....Nothing. "Scourgify?" Hm. "ScoURgify?" Scratching his head he looked around once more. He could do this! He just needed to concentrate. Concentrate and go do MAGIC. "Scourgify!" He said a bit more forcefully.

Sure the cauldron looked cleaner. It was. Right? Not just his imagination. Though there was a spot of dirt still on the edge......looking around to make sure that no one was watching Kyroh reached in and flicked the dirt off. THERE! Gone!

Performing the same spell on the other potion kit stuff wasn't that bad, it took less time then the cauldron, he clearly he was getting better already!

Next step! Water!

He knew the spell for water. That one was a bit easier. "Aguamenti?" Kyroh said hesitantly, pointing his wand in the cauldron once more. Once again nothing happened. Kyroh tightened his grip on his wand. He COULD do this. He just had to keep calm not get frustrated and do MAGIC. "Aguamenti!" A stream of water began to flow from his wand and Kyroh grinned as he filled the beaker up to two litres . THERE SPELL YOU WERE NOW MASTERED!

Pouring the beaker full of water into the cauldron Kyroh grabbed the unicorn tail hairs and dropped them in. First one, then the other.

He paused as he started to write his notes.



Uh wait. Dragons heart? Add it now The boy frowned as he looked over his writing and then back at the Professor. "Sir!" Hand extending upward Kyroh shifted around so he was on his knees. LOOK at him LOOK! "Professor Cupboardbin?!" That was his name right? Something like that. He hadn't been listening again. It was HARD to pay attention knowing that everything they were doing had to do with MAGIC stuff. "That's a lot of dragons heart for all the students. How many dragons did you have to kill then?" That wasn't cool. "What if I like dragons and don't want to use their hearts?"

Killing dragons for super strength?

No he'd rather have a pet dragon.

Also, he wasn't even suppose to play with fire so lighting the cauldron? Uh. No.

Marigold was ready for fire. Nope, not nervous at all. Except at the possibility that she might catch something else on fire, like that kid somewhat behind her. She carefully and gradually turned the heat up to high. Nothing caught fire. Good. Except now she had to get dragon HEART. DRAGON heart. DRAGON HEART! She liked potions all right, but she had forgotten how GROSS some of the ingredients were.

DRAGON HEART.

She made her way to the front of the room with her scales. Wrinkling her nose and making a disgusted face, she carefully measured out the heart. She ran back to her seat and poured it in to get THAT over with.

Cris immediately sprang to attention when Professor Cullodeen gave his next set of instructions. Picking up his quill, he quickly jotted down the instructions in his journal.



Once he was done, he pulled out his wand and pointed it at the burner. "Incendio" Cris chanted the incantation concentrating on the intensity of the flame that was emanating from his wand. When the burner was lit, Cris ended the spell before holstering his wand. He then turned the knob on the burner and raised the heat to high.

Now for the dragon heart. Cris sighed sadly wondering whether a brave dragon had been killed in order to harvest its heart. He hoped not for he loved dragons. Holding the dragon heart in the palm of his hand, Cris placed it on the scales. It was a little over 2.5 kilograms, so Cris picked up his knife which he had magically cleaned and removed a small chunk from the heart. Carrying the remaining larger chunk over to the cauldron, he slowly and delicately lowered in to the heated water.

Dragon Heart in cauldron. Check. Cris waited for further instructions.

Wait was he smelling smoke? Cris turned to see a young boy putting out some burning embers. Thankfully he had everything under control. Cris smiled encouragingly at the boy before turning back to watch over his cauldron.

"Great," Toby smiled at the first year, glad she seemed to have everything under control. He quickly got out of her way again and returned to his own workstation upon seeing that Culloden was about to go on with the next step.

Oh. Oh no. Oh that box was HUGE. Toby grimaced slightly at the thought of a HEART being in there, and repeated his usual potions mantra of how it probably died from natural causes. And Culloden was saying something like that so... yeah. Yes. It was all fine.

"Incendio." The fire beneath Toby's cauldron was lit with ease, and he twiddled his wand to turn it up to high. That done, the fifteen year old moved swiftly to the front of class, dodging around stray stools and bags as he went.

Upon reaching the front of the classroom, Toby peered inside the box, wrinkling his nose slightly. It smelled weird, okay?

The boy reached in with one hand and grabbed a handful of the dragon's heart, and pointed his wand at it too, careful not to aim at his fingers.

"Diffindo," Toby cast, carefully severing the handful of heart away from the main... thing. He had to repeat the spell a couple of times, but soon it was completely free. The Hufflepuff dumped it on the scales and waited for them to steady to see if he had enough... but no. still about 300 grams short.

Severing off a little more of the heart was easier than the first try, and after small amounts of fine-tuning Toby finally had 2kg. After stowing his wand away he scooped up the dragons heart and returned to his workstation. Once there, he added the heart to the potion.

Declan raised another eyebrow. Oh, of course it was all due to a potion. Dec wouldn't deny the fact that he actually believed for a second the professor could naturally lift a muggle car and it intimidated him a bit, but NOT ANYMORE. Why?? Because now he knows that he can do the same and that the professor isn't so much of a macho like the picture portrays.

Used for the building of historical buildings eh? That explains a lot. Now, he'll get to laugh in the faces of his Muggle friends when they try to explain how "aliens" built the wonders of the world.

He scribbled down the content on the blackboard before getting started:

After using the cleaning charm on his cauldron, he did the same to his beaker before filling it with two liters of water and then tossing it into the cauldron. Add two unicorn hairs...TA-DA. Step one done.

Step two.
He lit the flame under her cauldron, setting it to maximum, and then heading over to the box holding the dragon heart.

Gross. He carefully measure one kilogram and then carefully did another kilogram. Two kilograms, right?? Check notes...YES. Add to cauldron. PLOP. Step two...check!

Austin wasn't sure if he cleaned his cauldron beforehand, although he made a note in his notes to do so in the future... Just in case. After writing down the second step, he got out a dish and his scales. Using the 'Scourgify' Charm, he cleaned them both, taking extra care not to get any other form of dirt on them.

"Incendio." He said, tapping under his cauldron. He focused on the size of the flame, making sure it wasn't going to engulf the rest of the class in flames. Once this size was big enough to equal a 'high' temperature, Austin walked up to the front of the class with his scales and dish. He waited until a few others had taken their turn, and set his scales down next to the heart. It was bigger than he imagined, although he wasn't sure why he would think it was small. Dragons were generally huge in size, so it would make sense that their hearts would be big too.

Austin decided it was best to measure it out in small doses. He first measured a bit, and it equaled 1 kilogram. Taking a deep breath, he then took an equal chunk and measured the two together. It measured to be slightly over 2 kilograms, but the board did say it didn't matter if it was over or under 2, so he put the bit of heart on his dish and took both the dish and his scales back to his cauldron, and added it to the potion.



OOC: I hope adding the pictures of the notes I took were okay, if not I can take them down.

Light a fire? Grayson paused and glanced around at other people near him. Someone was bound to cast the spell anytime now, which would give him the opportunity to see whether they used the same spells here as they had back in Beauxbatons. And, more importantly, something was bound to go wrong. Fire. It just spelt trouble and Grayson liked that.

LOL had that kid set something on fire? LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.

The fourteen year old tried his very hardest not to snort and, instead, looked over at Prefect Lex. Incendio? Good. He knew that one. Turning his attention back to his cauldron, the boy pulled out his wand and pointed it at a spot underneath the cauldron. "Incendio!" A smirk spread across his face as the flames licked the bottom of the cauldron. And then it was turned up high.

Dragon heart was next.

Grabbing his scales, Grayson made his way towards the front of the classroom. He set them down and cleaned them using magic before starting with the all important measuring. This was happening carefully and a little slowly. The Slytherin was excited, sure, but he tried to hide it because a) the Professor was right there, b) something could go wrong and c) he had the reputation of being cool to maintain. He was cool, mkay?

Once he had measured out the right amount of dragon heart as accurately as he could, Grayson nodded at the Professor before turning around and making his way back to his cauldron. It was much harder to hide his excitement since he was HOLDING SCALES THAT HAD TWO KILOGRAMS OF DRAGON HEART ON THEM.

Some poor dragon had to die for this.

This is why we can't have good things in the world.

Whatever. He was back by his cauldron and had added the dragon heart in now.

okay, now that he had finished the next step the other one came just as fast, he had to turn on his heat and put it on high. Taking out his wand he pointed it to the bottom of his cauldron. "Incendio" he said as he saw the flame start underneath it. "Finite" he said as he turned the knob to control its temperature and set it to high.

Picking it up he placed it on the scales. it was only a little bit more than he actually needed so he picked up his clean knife that he had cleaned earlier and he just sliced a little bit off. Letting the scales adjust to the new weight he saw that it was just on spot. "awesome" he said under his breath as he went back to his desk with his dragon heart in tow.
