Using his watch to keep track, Caleb waited until ten minutes had passed. Now was time to add the snake fang! Super easy, right? He took the snake fang, admiring how smooth and cool looking it was (wasn't it like a requirement of Slytherin to become obsessed sort of with snakes?) and then plopped it in the potion. Done!

Ugh...

Who was that daring to interrupt this boy while he was having fun?!! He simply ignored her words and went on with his work until she DARED to come near him and not only TOUCH but to PROD him. With that happened, he lost the control of his magic and dropped the fang, it kind of touching the girl's hair. Still...it was a fail. He wanted it right into her hair making it all bloody and hard. Annoying girl was annoying and she just ruined everything.

Turning to face the girl, Gareth glared at her. "Oh yeah? I don't think i will. I don't need that fang now. Go ahead and make some good use of your pretty fingers if you want it instead of sticking your big pretty nose into other people's business." he was trying to keep a low tone so the commotion would not attract the old man professor's attention.

Then the victim girl was aware of...what was going on. Thanks to the annoying pretty big nose.

"My problem?" Gareth went on not keeping his voice low this time. The professor could hear this part if he wanted to. "The weird dude next to you put something disgusting in your hair so i was trying to take it out without startling you. Then..." he shot a glare at the older girl "...this ginger happened and made me drop it there. I don't know maybe she is with him..." he pointed at the dude Beverly had been talking to. "...in his stupid and disgusting idea of a pointless prank." he snorted "Obviously i ruined their plan so instead she is trying to put the blame on me." he looked back at the older girl. "Nice try, ginger."

Smiling as Lucy was trying to help him, d'aww isn't she so cute. "Hey Lucy" he said as he patted her on her shoulder, such a nice little girl. "oh I'm looking for my girlfriend and I think your talking about Louis" speaking of Louis totally made him smile, his silly best mate.

"we met last year but were totally inseparable" confessing. "speaking of my girlfriend though, you some come over and meet her because there she is" Lux would absolutely love meeting Lucy, she would think she's really cute like he thought.



awwww she was squeezing her hand, she knew what to do to calm him down. "My potion's going great also I have a little friend here I want you to meet" looking back to see if Lucy was following him he pointed to her "thats Lucy a new little lion" he smiled, it was always good for a little one to make friends in their first year.

"your so wise little cucumber" laughing as he looked into her potion and yup, it looked just about the same as his. "this class is totally fun right" besides a little bit of stress it was a lot better than his OWL's thats for sure.

He hadn't really noted the look of most other potions but he couldn't recall one that required a dragon heart and blood and stuff. "i've never really noticed i guess." truth he really never did. " i guess you're right though, most do." maybe. though her next comment made him smile a bit even as she poked at him."m'not that good, just good at following point given instructions." if they had just been put on the board he probably would of blown something up by now for sure. heh



WHAT THE DUMBLEDORE WAS HAPPENING!? The Gryffindor snapped his head around when he heard Beverly's voice rise at someone. "what." he kept his voice down cause glass but his eyes glared at the snake fang that was touching her and then at the boy.. Who the heck did he think he was!? he needed to mind his own and knock it off!!!
He was also BLAMING JEREMIAH!!!!

He didn't do anything! he would never do that to Beverly. "Lying is ugly you know." and girls didn't like ugly so he should stop. He also knocked the snake fang out and away from Beverly's hair. Don't touch her hair!!

EXCUSE ME?! Derry took a breath and glanced at the professor to make sure he wasn't near. "Look, kid. As much as I appreciate how pretty you seem to think I am, you're being a right git." Polite. Polite polite polite. "As for my nose, I'll stick it other people's business if they're doing stuff to my friends. And maybe I'll break a few others on the way." That's right. That there was a thinly veiled threat... yet veiled enough not to be against the rules, right?

... What the hell was he rambling on about. "Oh shut yer face you eejit." ... Angry scot was happening... uh oh. "I cannae believe yer gonnae lie through yer teeth like that." It wasn't even good lying. "Yer lies aren't even enough te be convincing, yer giving Slytherin a bad name." Yep. When Slytherins lied, they lied with style. True Slytherins anyway. "Just leave her alone, or you'll regret it. And that ain't a threat." Before he got the wrong idea. "Because it's her who'll kick yer backside, not me." Right? She shot a glance at Bev... Go with it...

"The weird dude next to me happens to be my best friend." Stupid head. "And he's not weird," she defended immediately. This guy DID have a death wish. And his story, a LOAD of dragon dung. She doubted Jeremiah even knew Derry. The idea was so barbaric it angered Beverly more. Unfortunately, she couldn't afford losing her cool during a lesson.

She composed herself, narrowing her eyes at the guy. "If you're going to tell a story at least have your facts straight." She'd been talking to Jeremiah, where his hands had been visible. Stupid, stupid head! "You need to come and pick up that fang." She sure as hell wasn't. Nor was Jeremiah and Derry.

Glancing from her best friend, to Derry and lastly to the guy, she smirked a bit, then wiped it off, putting up a distressed face. For good measures she raised her hand. There was no way she was getting into trouble because of Stupid Head.

"Professor." Help. GET HIM.

TEN minutes before she could add a snake fang? Well, okay. She'd just observe her classmates while she waited as she'd already cleaned up the things she wasn't using at the moment. She didn't have to wait long for something interesting to happen, either. Some LOUD students caught her attention and she raised her eyebrows, brown eyes darting from one to the other as they argued about something she'd apparently missed. A prank of some sort? SHRUG. One thing was for sure, the small snake kid had definitely angered the two snake girls and Maddie was waiting for one of them to bite.

Hisssssss. Hehehe.

AJ was really digging this easy step stuff. Wait for 10 minutes? She could totally do that. Believe it or not she actually wasn't in a chatty mood so she decided to doodle on her notebook. She hummed quietly to herself as she drew a picture of her riding a broom. It seemed like drawing it was the closest that she was actually going to get to riding one considering the school decided to up and cancel fun stuff the very year that she was to join Hogwarts.

When the 10 minutes had finally passed she added the snake fang. Oh, she couldn't wait until she was done with this potion because she was really hoping that she would get to try it out. EEP! Fingers crossed for that.

Maybe it was the word 'simple'. Maybe that word was cursed, so when he said that, problems broke out.

Like now. Like how Cosgrach had initially completely missed the boy's prank because he was busy with Sophie, like how he also ignored Miss Ferrier's moving to him because who knew how these kids dated, when they wanted to talk to each other and stuff. But he certainly didn't miss Miss Beverly's first shout, even then, they were bunch of grown up students, and whatever problem they had -

...

"That's. Enough." He was FULLY frowning as he walked to them. His anger rised with each step and when he was next to them, he ignored everyone there and looked at Beverly.

"What's the matter?" In that group, she was the student he'd trust the most, but all was going to be reprimanded.

Lucy dropped the fang in her cauldron and followed Bay towards his girlfriend.
"Hello, Lucy said," I am happy to meet you! .. Your boyfriend is really a gentleman and you are a beautiful couple .."
I hope we'll become friends!"

When Professor Culloden gave his next set of instructions, Cris listened attentively while jotting them down in his journal.



Seeing that he had 10 minutes to wait before adding the snake fang, he decided to spend the time assisting Angel with her potion. Walking one workstation over, Cris smiled and nodded when he saw that Angel had successfully filled the cauldron with water and added the unicorn hairs.

"Well done, Angel. According to what I've written down, light up the burner that is under here, using the Fire casting spell. The wand movement is a flick and point at the target and saying the word, "Incendio". Now remember to visualize making fire come out of your wand and once you have that image in your mind, cast the spell. Once you have the burner lit, you adjust the heat using the knob over here and bring the fire up to high." Cris whispered, pausing to allow Angel to absorb what he had just directed her to do.

"Once you have the burner lit and the heat up to high. Go over and measure out your dragon heart using the scales there. It should be 2 kilograms in weight. Then bring it back over here and slowly drop it into your cauldron. Once you have done that, you should have no problems completing the rest of the steps I have written down here," Cris smiled encouragingly at Angel.

"The Re'em's blood is over there in the container," Cris gestured to where Professor Culloden had the container of blood on his desk. "Angel, make sure you put on your gloves. You don't want any of the blood touching your skin. I'll be right over here, if you need my help. Let me know if you do," Cris smiled at Angel before heading over to his workstation.

His ten minutes was up. Picking up the snake fang with his fingertips, Cris slowly lowered it in his potion mixture. Then he kept watch over his cauldron occasionally darting his eyes over to monitor Angel's progress.

Professor to the rescue!

Once he reached them the Slytherin took a step next to him, seemingly distressed, the long main that was her hair in her hands, the ends smudged in re'em blood. "He," she mumbled shakily, shooting the Slytherin boy a pointed look. "Attacked my hair with a snake fang covered in blood and tried blaming my friends for it." Why would he do that? She had NO idea, but he NEEDED to get in trouble.

Or she should at least get to punch him or jinx him. Or something.

Big-wide-eyed, innocent look at you, Culloden. Help, help.

Ohhhhhhhhh. Somebody was in troubleeeeeee. Maddie casually looked away from the sassy snakes when Professor Culloden got involved. The guy didn't look too happy and she didn't want to receive any of his wrath. No way, Jose. Besides, now that he was there, she was sure there'd be nothing super interesting left to see. Too bad. She really was entertained. Snakes were quite interesting people as far as she was concerned and she really did want to learn more about them. Most especially about the female ones. She'd always been kinda MEH about hanging out with other girls cause they were SUPER whiny and concerned more with their makeup than their personalities but these older girls seemed different. Were ALL Snakes like that? Maybe she'd find a proper female friend after all. A snake one. She was going to look into this, UH-HUH.

Time was up! FINALLY. Maddie reached for a snake fang and eyed it curiously before tossing it into her potion. Bye bye, fang.

Angel decided that she would have to try and be quicker because the Professor was going way to fast for her, though saying that if it wasn't for the fact she had no idea what she was doing she probably could keep up, she was totally lost.

"Incendio." Angel smiled as she watch as the fire came up, she then made sure it was at the correct temperature, she then looked at the next instruction.

Angel made sure her gloves where on and then she went over and measured the Dragon heart using the scare and then she went back to her cauldron and put it in slowly she didn't want to make any mistakes, she was using Chris book so if there were any mistakes it was going to be his fault, not that she would mind, she then added the pomegranate after crushing it up as best as she could and then she had to wait for a while. She was totally confused now. "Is that right Chris?" Angel hoped she had done it right.

Cosgrach listened to her closely, and also saw the blood on her hair. His nostrils flared and he had a hard time containing his anger, but he managed to breathe out "D'you have - something - to say?" Like, say the Professor was dreaming. Please. He didn't want to make a scene, not now.

Lux was so happy to talk to Bay, that she had to keep remembering to check her watch every once in a while so that she didn't miss when the ten minutes had passed. She was happy that his potion was doing well, because she did not want him having any trouble with his.

Waving at Lucy as she joined them, Lux smiled. "Nice to meet you, Lucy. Are you liking Hogwarts so far?" It was always nice to meet new people, and she was happy that Lucy was making friends. "Yes he is very nice, and thank you. Lucy was very sweet. "I'm sure we will all be good friends!"

Bay's compliment made her blush a little. "I'm sure you are wiser than me." He was older than her for one thing. And he was also smart. "I love Potions! It's one of my favourite classes. I love doing practical work and making things."

Zander reached for the snake fang and WAIT. He nearly forgot that they had to wait for ten minutes before adding it in, but only nearly forgot. So here goes the timer again... He could hear the jeopardy music going off in his head.

AND DING. TIME IS UP. Here goes the fang! Ah. If only all the steps were this easy. Potions may have actually been fun.

He nodded. Especially him. Dima was cool. Cool as a cucumber.

Cucumbers weren't all that cool.

Wait for ten minutes? There wasn't really anything for him to do except clean his station, but Culloden probably wouldn't appreciate it if he lifted up the whole thing and dumped it in the washbasin. Which he could DO because he was SUPER STRONG. Grrr.

So it was time for help again.

Mikey wasn't around anymore and Grayson was allll the way over there, and the Gryffindor Prefect would most likely be cross again if he didn't ask her. Plus she was right next to him! Easy peasy. Maybe he'd be hard to teach and she'd just do the cleaning FOR him.

"Hey Lex? Can you show me how to clean my station?" Pause. "Please?"

Pleaaaase?

Cris frowned. "Actually you didn't need to crush the pomegranate but hopefully it doesn't matter. Okay, now follow the next steps here." Cris pointed to the instructions in his journal.



"Turn down the heat and clean these items using the same spell you used to clean your cauldron. Then collect the blood and mix it up. Make sure you stir in the correct direction. Then crush the claw in your mortar using the pestle. I'll let you know when it's time to add them into the cauldron ," Cris told her as he kept an eye on his watch.

Gareth eyed the weird guy who spoke in his own defense. In a way the Slytherin considered quite pathetic. Lying was ugly. "Good thing you say that." Gareth uttered calmly "But also it's odd you would lie at the same time."

And the big nose, ginger older girl was attacking him again. Hopefully it was just her words this time. Words which Gareth did not really listen to properly. Blah...blah...blah. Blah...blah with this accent she had. And more blah...blah. "Sorry, i didn't realise that you were the authority to decide what makes someone a good Slytherin." Sarcasm was good. He simply rolled his eyes and turned back to this girl, Beverly and ignored everything she said except the part she told him to pick the fang.

"Meh..." Gareth shrugged "Not gonna happen." But...she was up to something calling the professor and wearing that expression. Eh...the girl was going at it. She wanted to play? So be it. The old man professor was approaching and whooops...he looked angry. And as long as he had asked about the commotion, Gareth wondered why on earth the man just seemed to direct his question to this girl, Bev Mev started to pour it all out.

He didn't look at any of them and instead made it look like he was trying hard to look anywhere but those three people. Angry old man....spoke to him, right? That question was for him. "Sir..." he began "They are trying to pick on me because i am new and i have no friends. It's always been like that since the first day i came into this school. Everyone is doing that in almost every class. They harass me and when i say i would tell a professor, they make up something to get me in trouble. Why do big friend groups hate new students? Cannot they just leave me alone?" Dramatic expression and tone and all. "I cannot even make friends because of them. I am sick of it"

*big huge sigh*

Blushing as Lucy was being totally cute and sweet and not to mention her comments it made him do an intern D'AWWWWW he just wanted to keep her around forever, she was so far always giving him compliments "your too much" he laughed and winked at her. He bowed at the girls as she said he was a gentleman.

"yeah I agree with Lux, I'm sure we will be great friends" he nodded, he could help Lucy find her way around the castle. "yeah sure sure Lux" he laughed, she was a lot smarter than him but he wasn't going to push that subject any more.

"same Cucumber" he said as he took his watch out of his pocket, was it time to add the fang yet? phew, thank goodness they still had time.

Angel turned down the heat on her cauldron and then she quickly used the water spell to clean the items that Chris had pointed too before she collected the blood and mixed it up, she made sure to sure in the correct direction 5 times clockwise and then 5 times counter-clockwise, she didn't want to go wrong at all and she was starting to think maybe potions wasn't for her, she then crushed the claw in her mortar using the pestle and smiled at Chris and waited for him to tell her what to do next.

...WHAT?!!!!

Derry stared at this boy, a very clear expression of disgust on her face. How could someone churn out THAT? "Sir..." she said, looking between the other kids. "This guy is lying through his teeth, and I'd be happy to take a truth serum to prove it." Because she'd literally do anything to prove herself right. Especially right now. She was only just holding it together to stop herself from punching the kid in the face. "And if you know anything about any of the three of us, sir, you know we wouldn't do that to someone." At least... she or Bev wouldn't. Derry didn't know Jeremiah too well. But she was willing to bet that if he was friends with Beverly then he wasn't the kind of guy to purposefully exclude someone else. "Slytherins usually stick together." THAT was a jab at this guy who thought he was better than all of them, clearly.

After a glance at her watch, she added something... "I need to add my snake fang, sir. I'll be back here in one second."

She quickly stepped back behind her desk, glanced into her cauldron and added the snake fang. There... now what?

Oh...

She should probably go back over there. Derry walked over to the professor again and waited for the verdict.

That was a load of troll dung!

Beverly gaped at the Slytherin boy. Holy Fawkes! How could someone be so irritating and such a terrible story teller? If you're going to lie, make sure it's believable. No one let this boy be a ghostwriter or else he'd detail someone's life as a freaking train wreck. The urge to stomp on his foot was big, BUT she had to keep her cool.

Breath, Wayne, breath.

Turning to professor Culloden, still with that wounded puppy expression written all over her face, Beverly said, "He's making stuff up." Her bottom lip quivered purposely. She was quiet and reserved, but that didn't make her a mean person! The only reason she'd spoken to the this guy at the Feast in the first place was to make friends.

See?! This is WHY she had trust issues.

Watching Derry return to her potion reminded Beverly that her and Jeremiah's were about ready, so she turned around and added the snake fang into their potions. They were NOT going to ruins because of Stupid Head. She turned back to Professor Culloden and waited for a response. Potions mood ruined. RUINED.

Verrrry easy indeed. Sophie already had her two snake fangs ready to go, but she would need to clean her gloves again before touching either of them, she decided. Luckily, she had ten whole minutes to do that. So... she checked her watch once, noting when ten minutes would have passed since she added the powder, and removed her gloves so she could busy herself with cleaning everything.

She took her time to cast a thorough "Scourgify" on her gloves, the mortar and pestle, the cup, the bowl, her metal spoon, the tabletop, and anything else she thought might need a cleaning, including her hands, until she had only killed off five minutes of time. Well. Then what was she supposed to do? With her snake fangs already set aside on a tissue, ready to be added to the potion, she let herself peek into the cauldron and note the color of its contents. Bloody. Very charming.

She set her wand aside and pulled out a self-inking quill and some parchment, keeping an eye on the time as she wrote down everything they had done so far, and little helpful things here and there like don't crush the pomegranate and don't use magic to crush the griffin claw. All was fine and dandy until people were shouting at each other and Sophie turned just in time to see Culloden livid. The scary, soft kind where he looked like his head might explode if he didn't raise his voice and properly yell soon. It bothered her to see him have to deal with irresponsible kids, but there was nothing she could do about it but mind her own business. So Sophie forced herself to try to look really, really into her note-taking, despite the commotion going on behind her, until the ten minutes was up and she added a single snake fang to the potion with a gloved hand. So... what about the other, then? Was that next?
