Professor Culloden is welcoming you by the door again with an eager smile. Only after greeting him can you enter the classroom. The soft, calming blue walls welcome you for this term's earliest lesson. I hope you are well awake, because the chairs with soft cushions, charmed to take the most comfortable shape and height once a student is seated won't help you stay awake. By the door of the potions store room stands one big, grey rubbish bin and a white, porcelain washbasin with a tap for those who wants to wash their hands before/after the class and who can't perform 'Aguamenti' charm.
When you turn your eyes to the blackboard, you see an ENORMOUS magical picture that depicts a grinning Professor Culloden. That's not the peculiar thing about it, though, but that he's lifting a hatcback muggle car over his head as he's doing step aerobics.
What a show-off.
OOC: If you are going to RP your characer use the washbasin or the washbasin, you don't have to take Cosgrach's permission. Just assume he has granted it.
The lesson is in progress, so don't post your characters arriving late! Just act as if they have been there all along.
Potion progress
• 2 kilograms of dragon heart (a few grams more/less doesn’t matter)
• 1 pomegranate
• A cup of re’em blood
• One mature salamander’s blood
• 2 unicorn tail hairs
• Powdered griffin claw
• 2 snake fangs
1. Add 2 litres of water and the unicorn tail hairs one by one
2. Turn the heat to high and add the dragon heart
3. Wait until it boils and add pomegranate
4. Turn the heater to medium and wait for five minutes. In the meantime, mix re’em and salamander blood in a bowl and stir them five times clockwise and five times counter clockwise and crush griffin claw (doesn't have to be a perfect powder - just crush as well as you can withOUT magic).
5. Add the blood mixture slowly and THEN, the powdered griffin claw IMMEDIATELY.
6. Wait for ten minutes and add one snake fang
7. Put the fire out and add the other snake fang
8. Stir counter clockwise once
9. Drink a cup of the potion in one go, while still hot
Notes
- Tastes like metal
- Good for anaemia or lack of iron
- Do not drink more for longer duration, but rather drink another cup after you feel it’s wearing off. If you drink more than a cup, it will make you feel too dizzy to stand straight.
- To conserve for a week after brewing, add a cup of ice from pure water
- The colour is bright yellow
- For the first few minutes after drinking, sit and let your body and muscles adjust to it. Once you feel fresh, go around being super strong, and don't worry: you can control it.
- You can omit the heart part by adding a glass of water, counting to 18 and adding pomegranate. You can also not mix Re’em blood at all and add another pomegranate instead, but this will reduce the effect to one tenth.

Marisol stared at her potion, which was a deep crimson with gray specks. Was that normal? These were the strangest ingredients to use! The first year wasn't wimpy or anything, but they smelled quite badly. One of the snake fangs had snagged on her finger as she clumsily wiped blood off of her desk, and she was bleeding.
She'd deal with that later. Right now, she must continue her potion as not to screw up. She saw other students add the bloods, so that was what she did. Maybe a little too fast, because her potion smelled weird now, even with the pomegranate. The eleven year-old quickly put in her griffin claw. It helped a bit, but Marisol covered her nose with her robes anyway.
...maybe this time, there wouldn't be any prob -
Nope, there was one, right there. Looking all disgusted and, good gracious, covering her nose.
"Are there any problems?" Since his nose was pretty much insensitive to the odour in the room. This was his profession, after all. And he also didn't look at her cauldron. He wanted HER to speak.

"I can look away while you add in the blood, sir, and probably just get started on crushing the griffin claw." Just so he wasn't entirely useless throughout the process. He grabbed the mortar and pestle, ready to do the deed. Yet before he actually began pulverizing the claw, Trent cocked his head at the Professor and said, "Thank you for the help, Professor." His respect for the man had definitely just turned up more than a few more notches.
Breathing easier now because he wouldn't have to deal with the b-word, the Ravenclaw commenced crushing the griffin claw.
Well, y'know, Cosgrach could do that for a student, especially since he'd shared his phobia with him and not with another student. He was wise enough to differentiate between 'need' and 'being spoilt' anyway, so it was no problem. The professor checked his watch (figured the kid was too nervous to remember that) and lowered the heat to medium. Walking to his desk with the boy's cup, he scourgified it and got some diluted Re'em blood. Then he returned, scourgified the bowl and metal spoon, and mixed the two type of bloods inside the bowl - turning his back to the boy in case he forgot and looked at him or something. With the spoon, he first stirred five times clockwise, and then five times counter clockwise. After that, with his back still to the kid, he eyed the arms of his watch to mark the five minutes.
"Get ready," he called to the boy, much calmer now, "because you must add the claw immediately after me." And also for, y'know, he was turning around so he should look away not to see the blood. After five more seconds (during which he'd fished out his wand again), he turned and slowly added the blood. Once the last drop was in, he quickly cleaned it non-verbally for him not to see any stain or something.
HAD HE ADDED THE CLAW YET?
Despite one minor problem there, everyone had done marvellously! SPLENDID! This certainly helped the man to calm down, and he even griiiinned at them.
Did they see how each it was, actually, to please him?
"Last three steps, and very easy ones," he announced again, too energetic to sit still now. He was walking among them and smiling at whoever caught his gaze (though he was careful not to pass by Kevin. He didn't want to smile at Kevin.). "Our sixth step is, waiting for ten minutes and adding one snake fang." Very, very easy, right?
Right.
He reached the back wall of the class and leaned on it. Then he waved his wand at the blackboard and it updated itself:

OOC: If you wish, you can post your character speaking to someone in these ten minutes. :3 You don't have to finish this step in one post. Just, as always, don't go overboard with posting and chatter. <3
I'll post again 6 hours later.

Hazel was utterly confused,, but she thought she'd give it a shot. She looked over the notes she took.

So, first things first. 2 litres of water and 2 unicorn hairs one by one. She filled her cauldron and filled it with the appropriate amounts of ingreadients. Step 2. High heat and dragon heart. The high heat was easy. "Incindio," she said. Now was the dragon heart. She tried not to look at it as she placed it in her cauldron. She was always squeemish about parts of animal's bodies. Few! At least that step was done. Now she just had to wait for the concoction boiled. So much for the easy part!
She added the pomegranate happily because it was so normal. Now five minutes to wait. Re'em, salamander blood, stir five clockwise, five counter clockwise. Why did this seem so easy in the beginning? She crushed the claw as well as she could without freaking out too much. Now pour and POUR! She poured the claw in a bit slow, but she felt overall proud of her work! She listened to the Professor and followed his instructions. First, all she had to do was wait 10 minutes. Waiting. At least this part was kind of easy!

Adi grinned at Leah. "It's no problem,'' he said. He ha been on that end of the line where he needed help before, too and he still hadn't forgotten how Mo had been the first person ever to help him out in his first year. "Sure, let me know when you do.'' And with a small wave, Adi headed back to his workstation.
.............................
Ah! Another easy step. Adi eyed his watch and marked the time. Ten minutes, yes? Okaaay! While he waited for the time to elapse, the boy updated his notes. That didn't take more than two minutes so to past the rest of the time, he just observed the others at work. Most were waiting for the minutes to past like him but the rest were doing other stuff too.
Finally, the ten minutes passed. Adi grabbed one of the snake fangs and added it to his cauldron.

Sophie was really putting all her focus into her potion and trying her best not to mess things up, when she caught on to a conversation between the professor and a nearby girl. Oh, Sophie knew this girl! Sort of. She was a new Slytherin. Sophie glanced from the girl to the professor.
"Professor Culloden? I can assist her if she needs me to," she said.
In the meantime, while she waited on an answer, Sophie started on the next step in the process. Sophie began waiting for ten minutes, keeping track on a nearby student's watch. They wouldn't mind that, right? When it was up, she dropped in one, exactly one, snake fang.

"Thank you, Sophie," he said, smiled at her and left them alone.
That was like....double the amount of time they had to wait last time. BLEH. Ezra decided to update his notes while he waited.

There, DONE! He looked at the kid with the watch next to him and saw that it only had been like a minute...
People and classroom watch it was then, oh and a peek in the cauldron.
FINALLY after what felt like an enternity the watch said tens minutes had passed--well it didn't talk but Ezra had SEEN it say that. Yep. A talking watch would be cool though. He nervously took one of the snake fangs and dropped it into the potion.

Bay chucked as he saw the Professor grin and he was right, this step was really easy. All he had to do was to wait ten minutes and then add the snake fang. "hmmm what can I do in the ten minutes?" the idea popped into his head as he pulled out his potions book and started to read a random chapter. See good student over here.
Flipping through the pages after they were read he looked up from his book he saw that other students were talking and what not. "I wonder where Lux is?" he hasn't seen her at the class, could be that he wasn't paying attention and that she was in the room and he just hasn't spotted her yet. Maybe thats what he should do to finish off his wait time. So he started to scan the room.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
Oh gosh. The man was cheerful. Why was the man cheerful? It was creepy!
Kevin watched as he walked around, smiling that stupid smile of his. He did had the feeling he was going to ignore him though and as he saw that the Professor changed direction and not coming to his table, the young Gryffindor rolled his eyes. Whatever. It was not like he cared, being ignored that was.
Next step, Kevin turned his attention to the blackboard as new instructions scribbled down on the surface. Wait for 10 minutes?! THAT WAS THE EASY STEP. "ugh boooring " He Couldn't help himself. He had been relatively calm throughout the lesson but waiting was so boring! He set his watch and began to tap his fingers annoyingly on the table. Tap tap taptaptap...tap.. Being patiënt was obviously not Kevin's strongest point.
He checked his watch again and saw that only a minute had passed by. This was tortuuure! He looked around at the other students to see what they were doing. He saw one taking notes, nerd. Watch check! ...2 minutes had past... 8 left...what to do in 8 minutes? Ah! He knew something! He began to hum a song that wasn't really a song but something he had just come up with. He tapped his fingers on the table, creating a beat together with his humming. But even this he got bored quickly and groaned. WAITING WAS HARD.
Now, he began to play with his legs. He bend one knee and then stretched it. Bend the other knee and did the same like he was riding a bike. Yes he knew what a bike was. His watch suddenly beeped and he jumped in his seat. This time not in shock but because of yayness~! Time was over~ He reached for the snake fang and added it to the cauldron. HE SURVIVED! .

Because, some people may not be cool with getting help in class, so she figured it was better to at least ask first.

Professor dude sure did like to yell a lot. He blinked at the board as the new instructions appeared before he began to jot them down. well.. you know maybe if he wasn't so loud and crabby maybe the students wouldn't be so annoying. cause you know they found him annoying so they were annoying.... it was a thought that made more sense in his head and all. Making sure his griffin claw was cushed well he picked up his blood mixture which was still supppper gross looking by the way and slowwwwly poured it into his potion, which wasn't looking much better. Once all the blood mixture was added he quickly grabbed his crushed claw and tossed it all in, at once.

Wow, the Professor was actually GRINNING at them now? That was a pleasant surprise, and Lux smiled right back at him. See, Professor Culloden was a nice man when he wasn't in a bad mood. Funny how Kevin did didn't get any smiles though.
Quickly she jotted down the next step:

Well, that was insanely easy. All she had to do was play the waiting game some more and add a fang.
Scanning her eyes around the room, she spotted Bay looking around. Maybe he was looking for someone? Maybe he was looking for HER? Waving her hands about, she hoped that got his attention. "Bayyy." Using her indoor voice so that Professor Culloden wouldn't get mad at her or something.

Wait for ten minutes? ... Right. Derry glanced down at her watch again, and noted the time, crossing out the one from earlier so she didn't get them mixed up. Okay... waiting. Lalala.
What was she supposed to do? She glanced around the room, before picking up her quill and starting to doodle in the side of her parchment. A little broomstick with a face... Siiiiiiiiiigh.
....
She scribbled that out. No. None of that, Ferrier. Moping. Ascanius'd have a go at her.
So she stopped doodling - just in case her brain refused to tell her hand that drawing stuff that reminded her of things was a terrible idea - and rested her chin on her hand. C'mon, longest ten minutes ever.

Lucy had finally reached the last step, and she began to wait ten minutes ..
"Hello Bay .. I'm glad to see you again! Now I begin to relax me.. the potion is almost over .. But who are you looking for? I'm sure is the boy whom I have seen in the Gryffindor common room .. Are you friends by the first year or are you have become friends recently?"

Ten whole Minutes!? He looked down at the watch thing Beverly had set between them and looked up at her. "Hi." he whispered cause ten minutes was a loong time and he wasn't going to sit here and not whisper!talk to her. "the potion looks weird, huh?" still whispering he glanced into his cauldron again. looked strange. he wondered if he was doing it right. Did Her's look like this? he looked over into hers... yup... it just looked weird.

When the Professor announced the next step, he was smiling and seemed to be in a good mood. That was a good thing, right? Hopefully that meant that everyone was doing well with their potions.
So now the question was, what to do for the ten minute waiting period. Jasmine started with updating her notes to include the latest step in the process. OK, only nine minutes and thirty seconds to go. She turned around to look for her friends and found Cris, Bay and Lux all busy.......so, she waited. It's amazing how slowly ten minutes can pass when you are watching the clock.

Three more steps and they'd be done. Beverly liked potions, she did - quite a lot - but mix talent and expectations, the Slytherin grew restless at times. More so when there was something on her mind. Setting the stopwatch to ten minutes, she grinned slightly as Jeremiah looked into her cauldron.
"Most potions look weird," she said, peering into his out of curiosity. Then underhandedly, she poked his side. "I didn't know you were good at potions." He hasn't exploded his cauldron or messed up a single step like the other idiots. Not that she was being biased or anything, the actual proof was sitting on the table.

So the man was smiling. Grinning, even.
Shame. That probably meant that he wasn't going to tell anyone else off.
Shrugging, the boy turned his attention towards the board. Three steps left, eh? Which meant that they were closer to finishing the potion and trying it out for themselves. GOOD. That was exactly what Grayson was looking forward to. Not that he'd be the first one to try it out, of course, but that didn't mean that he wasn't going to.
Grayson glanced down at his watch. Ten minutes was a long time to wait. Good thing he had something to do in the meantime. Something that included watching some of the others, which, as he soon found out, ended up becoming incredibly boring. Merlin, was nobody going to do anything interesting? Like set something on fire again? No?
Jeez.
Were ten minutes up? No. Could he nap? Probably no.
Heaving a sigh, the fourth year ripped out a page in his journal and started folding it this way and that. This was child's work but here's hoping that it would keep him from being bored out of his mind for the next couple of minutes. Folding it here and folding it there. Parchment aeroplanes were the best, there was no doubt about it. And after years of practice making these and tossing it at his brother, the fourteen year old liked to think he was good at making them.
Were the ten minutes up?
YES.
Placing his parchment aeroplane off to one side, Grayson picked up a single snake fang and added it into his cauldron.

The way that Culloden was like...YELLING made Caleb think that it was definitely super dooper life threatening important to add the claw RIGHT AWAY. So that was what he would do!
He took his blood mixture and slowly added it to his potion as instructed. Then, once he had added the last bit, he took the powdered claw and tossed it in right after the blood. There. Was that fast enough??
Cool. Nowwww he had to wait for ten minutes...cue the countdown...

The time continued to drag along. When Jasmine checked her watch for the hundredth time, she was relived to see that ten minutes had finally passed. Scanning her supplies, she spotted the snake fangs and picked up one. Taking one more glance at her brewing potion, Jasmine gently dropped the snake fang into the cauldron. Hopefully they didn't have too much left to do. Now, more waiting......

Since it didn't look like anyone was going to shut up, Gareth first thought of making them shut up yet...apparently they were not worth any effort he might put in. So instead he just decided trying to ignore them. When the professor announced that the five minutes was over, the Slytherin boy carefully listened the next step. Oh...that sounded simple.
Picking his bowl of mixed bloods in one hand and the mortar with crushed griffin claw, he first poured all the mixed bloods in the bowl into the cauldron then dumped the powdered griffin claw in right after it. Yeah...look at this people; this stuff was done this way. The Gareth way. They could learn watching him so they could improve themselves.
Not that he would do anything to help them with it.
Then...it was time to wait for 10 minutes. Eh...it was probably for those stuff to dissolve in the brewing potion properly. So be it. He was going to wait for 10 minutes.

He hasn't exploded his cauldron or messed up a single step like the other idiots. Not that she was being biased or anything, the actual proof was sitting on the table.
And how to entertain himself while he was waiting? Gareth looked around to find himself something to do while he was waiting. Of course, he didn't like just standing there and not doing anything like an idiot for a whole 10 minutes. So he would...
....he grinned when his eyes caught this girl from the feast. She was talking to another guy but Gareth didn't care. Silently picking a snake fang, he first dumped it in leftover Re'em blood eyed. Then he took his wand out, keeping an eye on the professor, and levitated the bloody snake fang towards the girl and slowly sent it to rest in her hair.
Mwahaha...

Scanning and waiting, scanning and waiting.. and then OH WHATS----- he saw some flapping arms, standing up taller he spotted some red hair and he gave a jump to confirm it was Lux and it was! making sure his pocket watch was with him to keep an eye on the time Bay made his way over to her.
"hey Lux, I'm sorry I didn't sit with you, I totally didn't see you" he confessed with a sad face. "hows your potion going?" hopefully she was doing okay like he was. He had the sudden urge to hug her or put his arm around her but he thought it was best to keep it on lock down during classes.

Derry checked her watch... she still had tons of time left before ten minutes was up. Sigh. She surveyed the room again and...
...
What was that boy doing?
Derry watched him curiously, squinting at the fang that was now levitating to... "Hey!" She walked over and prodded the kid in the wand arm, hard. "What d'you think you're doing?"
To Beverly? HMM? Derry LIKED Beverly. Beverly had complimented her Quidditch skills. "You're gonna want to take that fang back." she said sternly. Or else.

She was still peering over Jeremiah's potion when the back of her neck tingled. You know, the way it does when someone is standing behind you or something close. Beverly shrugged it off, but kept her ears on alert in case a cauldron blew up. It was a somewhat family voice from behind that really had her turning around.
O_______________O
And just in time as bloody snake fang caught at the ends of HER hair.
Inhaling a deep breath, her eyes landed on the culprit. It was that boy from the Feast. Did he have a DEATH wish?!
She wanted to thump his face. Hard.
But...the professor was standing right there, in the back of the class. Damn. Double damn! "What's your problem?!" she half yelled. She was shy when not aggravated. And this guy totally did just THAT.

Oh, good. He noticed her at last. Smiling, she looked at her watch to check on how much time she had as he walked over to her. She wanted to hug him, but figured that Culloden wouldn't like that, so she quickly squeezed his hand instead.
"Hey. My potion is going well. How about yours?" Hopefully it was, because he was rather good at this class and she didn't want him getting into trouble with Professor Culloden. "It's okay that you didn't see me. We can sit together in loads of other classes." And they saw each other outside of class too.

Oh good the time was up. And the next instruction was pretty straightforward once again. Penelope carefully and slowly added in the mixture - definitely didn't want any of this stuff splashing out or anything like that - and then once it had all been poured in, she added the griffin claw powder immediately.
So that was done...
...and the next instruction was to wait for ten minutes before adding something else? Merlin, that was a long time. What was she supposed to do for ten whole minutes?
Preferably she'd have something to eat, but she was pretty sure that wasn't allowed in here, and she hadn't brought anything anyway. She could look around for someone to talk to, but...a part of her was actually encouraging her to look over her potions textbook a bit. Ten minutes of studying that she wouldn't have to do later, and every little bit helped after all. So she did that, flipping it open and scanning the pages carefully...
...
...and pretty soon the ten minutes were up. Thank Merlin. So she added a snake fang.
