Default Pathways

Image credited to Govoni
Tall trees on either sides of the path and grass covering the area, the Pathways is a beautiful place where you can simply relax by sitting in front of a tree or taking a walk on your own or with friends without having to think about school work. Enjoy the fresh air while you can before your next class inside the castle begins.

Oh, guess what? "It's only a few doors away from the bronze knocker. Just think it up and it'll appear," Bless that room. Especially when Jun didn't want to practice in the dorm. He really didn't need an audience when he was being serious. He nodded. "Pretty sure no one's been attack yet. But then again, it's a tad early in the term for that to happen," Like the aging last term. Shiver.
Adelaide laughed. "Of course you do. It benefits you." Because good seats were important for quiddtich if you actually wanted to be able to see things. Which most people did.

"Oh nice." Addi made a mental note of that. Not just for sleepover purposes but more for if she just needed to get away from everyone. That was a massive benefit of that room. "I haven't heard of anything. Yeah. Fingers crossed nothing does though."

With Delilah's hand still entwined with his, Louis moved from the courtyard to the pathways. Bits of their recent conversation still echoed in his head, and though things had been settled, there was still an uncomfortable knot in his stomach. Still, he'd made a promise and he intended to keep it.

"How abouuttt..." Lou looked up at the trees and approached the tallest one he could find. It towered above most of the other trees, its branches long and heavy. To the boy, it was basically begging to be climbed. "This one?"

Releasing his girlfriend's hand, Louis climbed up to the lowest branch with ease. He turned to Delilah then, and offered his hand with a smile. "C'mon."

Delilah followed Lou, rubbing her forehead nervously with her free hand. This should do some good, yeah? Finally getting to spend some time with him.. It was the first time she'd seen him/talked to him in a long while, actually, which made her mentally cringe. But, she believed him when he promised to make things work. It was kind of up to him.. whether he thought she was worth fighting for. Or not.

She slowly came to a stop when Lou pointed out a really tall tree. Heh. Yeah, she was fine with.. whatever. Delilah nodded and watched him climb up to a branch. Right. The girl suddenly felt slightly nervous. It had been a while since she'd done any climbing.. Managing a small smile, the girl took Lou's offered hand.

Delilah successfully found herself on the branch a second later, her face slightly flushed because of the cold. It was FREEZING, in fact. "Make sure I don't fall, yeah?"

Louis pulled the girl up as she took his hand, though he made sure to be careful. Didn’t want to end up accidentally breaking his girlfriend’s arm or something; that she probably wouldn’t forgive. He smiled triumphantly at her as she stood beside him, chuckling softly when she asked him not to let her fall.

“I would never let you fall.” He gave her hand a gentle squeeze, flashing the girl another smile before moving on to climb the next tree branch. He was like a little kid, giddy just to be out in the cool air climbing trees and exploring. This was the kind of physical activity Lou liked; not Quidditch, or wrestling or things like that. More like climbing, running, swimming… things that didn’t involve hitting his peers on the face with a bludger.

Still, Louis made sure to take it slow. He climbed each branch carefully, making a slow upward progress and always stopping to help the little blonde Hufflepuff up to join him. By the time the boy decided they had gone far enough, there were only very few branches still up ahead, and the two kids were high enough to see over the top of most of the other trees. The castle, grounds and lake all came to view far in the distance. And the view directly below their feet… well, that view they should probably avoid.

Sitting near the tree trunk, Louis turned to the girl beside him. If they thought it was chilly down there, they were close to freezing up here. Still, it was worth it. And Lou had always been a fan of cold weather. He wasn’t so sure about his Sunshine State girlfriend, though. “What do you think?” he asked, turning his gaze away from her to take in the sight of the school grounds and their classmates walking across the campus.

Jun nodded a couple of times. Good seats were a must. He also expected season tickets for free, but that might be pushing it. It didn't hurt to ask, but maybe later. When Addi's mood was up and all. "Have you ever been there?" Jun tilted his head at her. Who hasn't been to the room of requirements? He used to to getaway from people and practice. When he was bothered enough to get out of bed and all. "Too early in the term to have something happen. They're probably waiting for later on or when we come back from break,"

"Thank you." Delilah replied, feeling a little reassured. Okay, so.. she felt more than a little nervous. She'd never been afraid of heights but the fact that this was the first time she was climbing in YEARS was kind of scary. She tilted her head upwards to look at the freakishly tall tree and took a few deep breaths to calm herself down. She could do this.

So, she slowly started to climb with Lou's help, extremely careful of her footing and holding on to her boyfriend for dear life. After a little while, the girl kind of started to enjoy the little adventure.. it was kind of relaxing. And certainly took her mind off of things which was exactly what she needed right now.

And well, after what felt like hours, they were sitting on one of topmost branches. What did she think? Delilah couldn't even begin to explain how beautiful the view was. "I.. just.. wow..." She finally muttered, feeling a little out of breath. Good gosh. The castle looked so majestic and the grounds looked so pretty with patches of snow in places.. could she just sit here forever?

"I wish I had my camera." She added, pulling the hood of her jacket up. It was certainly cold up there but it was worth it. Totally worth it.

Addi shook her head. "Nope. I've heard of it, but never had the chance to go up there." That and she was just too lazy to climb all of those stairs. How the Claws and Lions did it on a daily basis she would never know. It was hard enough going to classes. She wrinkled her nose. "I hope not. I hope it's just a bunch of smoke and everything goes back to normal for everyone next term." Even if she wasn't there.

“I wish so, too…” muttered Louis absentmindedly as he took in the view surrounding them. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d taken a proper photograph, actually; well, except of his cat, but that didn’t count. “Do you remember our photoshoot at the tower patch?” he asked, smiling with amusement at the memory. He still had that one photograph he’d kept from the bunch they had taken. It felt so long ago now.

The boy turned to her then, watching as Delilah proceeded to pull the hood of her jacket over her blonde hair. “Not quite like Miami, is it?” Lou asked, half teasing. “C’mere…” He wrapped an arm around the girl’s shoulders, pulling her into him so they could share their warmth. “...What’s it like over there? Your home, I mean,” he asked curiously, thinking of the beachy and palm-tree-decorated postcards he'd seen before.

"Of course, I do." Delilah said, with a wide grin. It had been loads of fun. Hanging around at night in the tower patch.. It was amazing how she could still remember it all clearly. "Didn't I just randomly kiss you? Even though we'd just met? It was so embarrassing.." The girl still couldn't believe she'd done that! Randomly have her first kiss with a boy she had barely known at the time.. Not that she regretted it. Of course not.

"I miss the weather back home." Bleh. Delilah really did. She didn't like winter in general.. and the cold here was just too much for her. Believe it or not, the girl was waiting for summer already. She snuggled into him as he pulled her closer, resting her head on his shoulder.

Hmmm? What was it like at home? "It's pretty.. and warm throughout the year. And the beaches are lovely.. they are almost always crowded but yeah. And I love swimming in the ocean, you know? Somehow, it makes me really happy..." Having spent SO much time at the beach, she'd never really learned how to surf though.. Odd. Next summer, hopefully.

"Tell me about your home.. and your family. What are they like?"

"Tell me about your home.. and your family. What are they like?"
Louis chuckled softly when Delilah mentioned their first kiss; it was something he still remembered as if it had just happened a minute ago. “Indeed, you did… Very daring of you, Starr. I think you’re the real Gryffindor here,” he said, his face lit up with an endeared smile. “I’m glad you did, though…” Even if it had confused him a little at the time, it led to something great. So, no regrets there.

The boy listened as Delilah described a dreamlike place to him. No way that was real, was it? Seriously? Warm weather all year, beaches? “It sounds like paradise,” he said, trying to imagine the foreign land in his mind. His smile widened when she commented on the ocean and how happy it made her. Poor girl, she was totally out of her element here. “Isn’t it a bit scary, though? With the sharks and all?” Though he vaguely remembered the girl showing an interest in sharks.

And then it was his turn to be questioned.
“You’ve been to my home,” he replied cheekily. Turning a little more serious, he continued, “Well, I live with my mum as you know… but all her family lives in Toulouse, that’s why I go every summer.” Except this summer, for obvious reasons. “We always stay at my grandma’s, but my aunts and my cousins live there too.” As for what they were like… “They’re great, very close and family-oriented… They’d love you if they met you,” he said with a smile. At least, his grandmother had been nagging him to at least send a picture of his mystery girl for some time now.

She smiled and turned to admire the view again, absently wrapping an arm around his waist. The girl remained quiet for a few moments before she continued, "Was I your first kiss?" Because she never really found out..

"It is. I mean, I do love it here.. but I do miss it sometimes. I'll probably visit next summer." Delilah sighed softly, tucking a small strand of hair behind her ears with her free hand. Waiiiit. What? Scary? ....... "No! I mean.. it's a little dangerous, sure.. and my parents worry a lot so I try to stick as close to the shore as possible but gosh!" She rambled on, her blue eyes sparkling with excitement. "Besides, I love sharks. Their teeth are a little scary but cute, otherwise." ... So. Maybe 'cute' was taking it a little too far but whatever. She liked them.

Delilah blushed. Heh. Of course. But, the girl remained quiet as she listened to him talk about his family back home. She was pretty sure they were a lovely bunch of people. The blonde smiled and was about to say something when his next sentence kind of made her cheeks turn pink again. "They'll love me? You really think so?" It felt so good to hear that, really.. "Do they know about me?"

Louis chuckled softly as Delilah expressed disbelief over her own actions a year ago. “Mm, must’ve been because I’m so handsome; you just couldn’t help yourself,” he teased with a grin, playfully poking the blonde on the tip of her little nose. At her following question, his grin transformed into a more sheepish smile, and for the first time since they settled on this tree branch, he looked down at his feet hovering so many feet above the ground. “My first real kiss, yeah…” He looked up at her then, still smiling. “I’m glad it was with you.” Honestly, he couldn’t imagine himself kissing anyone else.

The boy nodded his head when Delilah considered the idea of returning home over the summer, and laughed as she went on to defend her love for sharks. The excited sparkle in her beautiful blue eyes left him in a sort of daze, and it took him a moment to fully register the words she’d just said. “…Cute?” he repeated, laughing again. “They have scary teeth - which can tear your limbs in one bite, might I add - but they’re cute?” Of course, Lou totally respected his girlfriend’s tastes and points of view, but he couldn’t help teasing her over this one. Only Delilah would use the word ‘cute’ on what most considered terrifying creatures. “…You’re cute,” he decided, poking her playfully again.

Did he really think his family would love her? “I’m certain,” he decided with a confident nod. Not only because his family consisted of a bunch of warm, welcoming people, but because Delilah herself was quite possibly the most charming person he’d ever met. As she asked if they knew about her, the boy bit at his bottom lip to hold back a sheepish smile. “Yeah. Of course.”

WHAAAAAAAAAAAT.

How did someone ever not to to the room of requirements? It's like a must do if you went to school here. Even for like small birthday parties if most friends were in different houses and all. Or just a place to hang out. "Well, you finally have a reason to head aaaaaall the way up there," Practically into the sky considering how far and tall the towers were. "Mhm. Most likely just a hoaxed but of course they're not taking any chances here," Have you see those aurors all around? Bit intimidating.

SUMMER FOREVER

“Yeah. Of course.”
Delilah couldn't help but laugh. "Oh, yeah? Maybe.. Maybe I fell for your irresistible lips or those beautiful blue eyes.." Probably both. Ahem. She quickly looked away again, a little flustered. She actually didn't mean to say that aloud... Oh! She was his first kiss, which kind of made her grin like a goofy idiot. The girl was more than pleased to hear that. She pulled his face towards her to kiss his cheek and whispered in his ear, "I'm glad mine was with you, too." Her first.. everything, really.

"Well.. yeah." Heh. He was right. Sharks were actually not THAT friendly and one shouldn't probably get too close to one.. BUT, Delilah still wanted to swim with them one day. Hopefully. It was kind of worth the risk, yeah? "But, aren't they just beautiful creatures? I love whales, too! Especially the blue whale. It's so freaking huge." At this point, she knew she should shut up. He was probably bored of listening to her go on and on about marine life... and WHAT. She was cute?! Nooo! She was about to protest, when she suddenly remembered something a friend had advised her recently. She seriously needed to learn to accept compliments.. SIGH. "Thank you." Delilah smiled and poked his lips. "You're cuter, though."

The blonde raised an eyebrow in surprise. So, they DID know about her.. Interesting. She'd just assumed that he'd only told his mother. "Oh? What do they know about me so far? All good things, I hope."

Louis turned to Delilah with slightly raised eyebrows as she went on about his lips and eyes, an amused smile lighting his expression as she quickly turned away from him, looking flustered. She was so cute when she got flustered… she was cute all the time, actually, and Louis felt an urge to lean in and kiss her rosy lips. But the girl beat him to it, taking his face to place a kiss on his cheek. The Gryffindor chuckled softly at the gesture, and turned a bright shade of pink when she proceeded to whisper in his ear. ;ALSKFLJSG. “Oh—y—yeah…?” Why did she have to torture him?! She knew perfectly well how sensitive he was to her lips anywhere near his ears, and pulling these tricks while sitting a billion feet above ground was NOT nice, Miss Starr.

Clearing his throat softly and awkwardly running a hand through his hair to push away the sudden urge to kiss his girlfriend all over, Louis looked away and tried to remember how pretty the view was. Yeah, it wasn’t distracting enough.

The boy returned his gaze upon the girl at his side as she spoke of the beauty of sharks. “They’re definitely… graceful,” he said with an amused smile, listening as she went on about the ‘freaking huge’ blue whale. Snort. She was so… excited, and lively. Just listening to the honest excitement in her voice would’ve easily convinced him to jump into a tank full of sharks. It was just… contagious. And adorable. And at this point, Louis just couldn’t help himself anymore. He leaned in toward the girl and placed his lips on her moving ones, kissing her with probably the same amount of love she felt for the sea creatures she spoke so fondly of.

Slowly pulling away moments later, the boy flashed her a smile. Did his ears deceive him? “…You didn’t dismiss it,” he pointed out, genuinely impressed at her actually accepting a compliment. It was a simple gesture, for her to say ‘thank you’, yet it made him so strangely happy. There was something satisfying in being able to compliment his girlfriend without her brushing him off.

Did his family only know good things? “Of course,” said Louis, smiling. “I’m not certain how much they know, though. I’ve only really told my mum and my grandmother, but of course they told everyone else in the family.” As if gossiping about his personal life wasn't embarrassing, thanks a lot Mum and mémé. “But my grandmother is very fond of you already. Always asks if she should send more roses,” he added with a soft chuckle, shaking his head slightly. He should probably start accepting her offers, maybe it’d make up for his behaviour these past few weeks.

Delilah grinned when she saw him blush. UGH, WHY. She loved it so much, you know? The fact that SHE could make him blush.. It was the best feeling ever, seriously. AND. He looked so adorable with his red cheeks and it just made her want to kiss his face. "I adore you, Lou." She whispered once again and placed a small kiss on his ear before pulling away, reluctantly. She would have liked to tease him with a few more kisses but well.. Nope, not a good idea. Not when they were sitting on top of a tree. Meh.

Graceful! See, her boyfriend understood. "Yes! Exactly.. I don't see why other people---" Delilah blinked in surprise when his lips suddenly met hers. Oh. Ohmygosh. She had missed kissing those soft lips so much. SO much. The girl gently kissed him back, unable to stop herself from smiling. He just made her so happy. Whatever had happened over the past few weeks, whatever hurt and pain she'd gone through, she still believed that he was the best thing to have happened to her. Maybe things could go back to the way they were, after all..

... And the kiss was over way too soon. Delilah could feel the heat rising in her cheeks as she smiled. "No, I didn't. I'm kind of learning to accept compliments now.. that's kind of what you always wanted me to do, right?" Was he proud of her, hm? It was all thanks to West, really. It was weird, though.. 'cause it didn't feel like she deserved any of those compliments.

Aw, his family sounded so adorable and lovely. The blonde grinned happily when he added that his grandmother liked her already! Wow. Okay. That was really nice to hear.. Delilah would absolutely love to meet her sometime.. and the rest of his family of course. She felt a little too shy to say that loud, though. "Did you ever get to tell her I loved all those roses she'd sent?" ... They were truly SO beautiful.

“I adore you, Lou.”
How could just a few simple words bring the brightest of smiles to his lips? “And I adore you…” he replied softly, still smiling as he leaned in toward the beautiful blonde and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. She was just… flawless, and the fact that she liked him as much as he liked her just made the whole situation completely surreal. Never in a million years would he have expected to have the fortune to date someone so gentle, charming and gorgeous. Yeah, coming to Hogwarts had definitely been a wise move.

At Delilah’s following words, Louis’s smile widened with genuine delight. “Yes…” He looked at her incredulously, though still pleased. This was… definitely unexpected. For Delilah to accept a kind word, without dismissing his opinion of her as untrue, it was… well, it was quite wonderful. It made the boy want to shower her in every compliment he could think of. “Yes, it is,” he repeated with a nod. “I want you to… not just accept it, but believe when I tell you you’re perfect. Because you really are, D.”

When the girl asked about the roses, Louis nodded his head once again. “Oh, yes. I wrote her that week and I think that’s the day she decided she really liked you. She’s very proud of her plants, so if you appreciate them you’re immediately good on her book,” he said with a chuckle. The boy paused for a moment, turning quiet as his distracted gaze fell upon the students wandering on the snow-covered grounds. “If… If we’re still alright by next summer,” he started slowly, fidgeting with the girl’s slender fingers in his hand. He hated to start the question like that, but he didn’t want to jinx himself by making assumptions either. “…Would you come to France with me? To meet them?” he asked, looking up from their hands to the girl at his side. He knew the summer was still a long time away, many things could happen between now and then, but still he wanted to know.

"Soooooooo? I do it all the time," Y'know, with potions class and then heading to the common room. But one got used to it after years of doing so. "You don't see me complaining when I do it every day," And Addi was a quidditch player. Sure she was used to crazy training. "Guess not. Hm, Jun might try that soon.

The girl couldn't help but laugh at his expression. Wow, he really looked amazed. Oh, well.. It had been something she'd been working on for a little while and the fact that it made her boyfriend so happy, simply made her beam. "... Perfect?" Delilah turned quiet for a moment. She just couldn't believe that because she didn't even come close to perfect. There were way too many things she wasn't good at.. even if she did try. Sigh. "I'm glad you think so.." The girl leaned in to place a small kiss on his cheek.

Delilah nodded with a happy smile at his words. If only her parents were that accepting of her a boyfriend.. speaking of, she wasn't sure if he was still up for meeting them over the winter break. Should she ask him? No? Was it too soon...? But before she could say anything about it, Lou started to speak again.

Oh. Meet his family. IF they were alright.. Ouch. That might have stung a little. But, summer was still far away.. Delilah smiled slowly and nodded, giving his hand a gentle squeeze. "Yeah, I'd absolutely love to. It would be lovely to meet your family.. Just as long as you promise to take me to Paris." She added with a cheeky grin.

It was about time!

Charlotte stuck her hand into the bag and seeaarched for something that felt like a sour patch kids bag. Eventually, she pulled it out and handed it to him. "Enjoy!" Candy friendships were the best of friendships.
Kace gave her a quizzical look, "Wait I am the only one to ask you for regualr candy? Wow...i guess I did it without thinking.." he smiled. "Well I am muggle born so it is in my blood.." he shrugged and grinned. OH MY MERLIN. She had the sour patch kids bag. He smiled and jumped up and down. He was soo happy. "Oh my god you are the best!" he said to her. He even hugged his new friend.

I guess they had a candy friendship. He was starting to like it. "So what year are you in and what house are you in?" he asked opening his bag and digging into his delicious candy.

"But if you didn't have to, would you?" Because honestly Adelaide figured he only did it for lessons and such. That was really the only reason she did it. She had some pretty wild images running through her head at the thought. Things could get pretty crazy with all this pent up energy. "I can see some people getting really bored and resorting to things they shouldn't." Like sneaking out of the castle. That was definitely a thought on her mind.

Louis furrowed his brow slightly at her words. …What was this about? He had an idea where it was coming from, though. “I promise,” he assured her with a small smile and a nod. “As long as you do the same for me, yeah?” He definitely wanted to be first to know if he was doing something that was bothering his girlfriend. He’d messed up once already, and that was one error too many.

The boy could feel the hesitation in Delilah as she turned quiet for a moment. She obviously didn’t trust his judgement, and for a brief second there, Louis felt certain she would reject him. But instead, she accepted the compliment. Again. And now the boy couldn’t help the goofy grin that lit his expression. He could actually call his girlfriend the one thing she hated to be labeled, without it turning into a debate or an argument. It was wonderful. Still, Lou decided to take it slow and not push it. Baby steps.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t let you finish about the ‘freaking huge’ blue whale,” he said with a sheepish smile, genuinely ashamed for having interrupted her so unceremoniously. “Tell me more about it?” He wanted to know all about her interests, about the things that made her smile. “And I won’t interrupt this time, promise.”

When Delilah proceeded to accept his invitation to meet his family over the summer, the Gryffindor boy found himself grinning again. He hadn’t been sure what to expect, but he was glad to see she seemed as eager to meet them as he was to present her to them. At her little condition at the end, he chuckled softly. “That can be arranged, ma chérie.

*sappysapper* MAJNOO, YO!

Being coped up inside the common room was doing the twelve year no good. So Noel Wallace made his way out to the grounds, hoping to pass time and maybe take some photos for the yearbook. He was fairly new to the staff but he REALLY did want to make a good impression on his fellow yearbook-ers? And Professor Space of course.

Making his way down the pathways, Noel stopped here and there to take random photos.

Bored, the young lion was so bored. She had tons of homework that needed to be done, but that was no fun, and AJ was not about that life. She would get to it sooner or later.

Deciding to take a different route around the castle, she set off hoping to find something new and cool. For awhile all you could hear was her footsteps. Were was everybody?

As she continued on her path she noticed a boy taking pics. Ohhh... what kind of camera was that? Without thinking twice she approached the boy. "Hey there! Whatcha taking pictures of? I've never seen a camera like that one before, what kind is it? Can I touch it?" Questions never seemed to come to an end with her.
