Snow continues to pile up all over the grounds into small mountains as icy winds blast across the open spaces. Even some of the more bundled up fall victim to these icy blasts, causing them to shiver and their teeth to chatter. |

Click! Snap! Click Snap! Noel was clicking away, without pausing or you know waiting to pause for a picture. He figured if he kept clicking, he would eventually get a good photo. YEAAH. While he was in the midst of taking a picture of a bird, someone approached him - making the twelve year old jump and the bird to fly away. "AWW Man! LOOK you made the bird flyy away!" Noel groaned, before turning to the girl he hadn't seen before. "I was just, you know, taking pictures?" he said, trying not to state the obvious - because that would be rude. When she asked him about the camera, Noel beamed. "My dad got it for me. Well, I GUESS you can - " he said, handing the camera to the girl carefully. "Be careful though," he added cautiously. "I am Noel, by the way. And you are?" he asked, eying how she held the camera. She had to be careful, okay? It was his ONLY camera. And his dad won't be getting him another if he broke this one. "Cool." She noticed the hesitation in his voice. "Don't worry, I'll be super careful." AJ gently took the camera from the boy. Click, click! "This is really nice." Deciding that the boy would most likely feel better if she gave it back, she handed the camera over to him. "Sup Noel, I'm AJ." He had to have been in her classes, but he didn't look familiar at all to her. She was just about to launch into another batch of questions when the cold sent a shiver down her spine. "It's not just you. I swear it felt like the weather just dropped twenty degrees." Maybe she should have bundled up more? Although she most likely couldn't have put on anymore layers. |

And he was REALLY feeling cold. When the girl returned his camera, Noel had to be careful because his hands were shaking from all the cold. VERY carefully, the boy just packed the camera in his bag before turning back to the girl. "AJ? Does it stand for something?" he asked, curious - pulling his jacket closer to himself. "Ye- yes! I don't un-understand why is it .. suddenly so cold!" Maybe they should head back inside. Or well freeze to death, you know. |
Dylan made his way down to the pathways, his long hair flowing behind him as a gust of wind whipped past. The weather wasn't too bad for a walk, and Dylan had been wanting to get out and about the grounds since he was bored sitting in the common room. He had been hoping to run into someone around here to walk with and talk to, because not many people were in the common room. Sighing, he continued to walk. Maybe he'd find someone eventually...or he'd have to head back in and look inside. |

The third year Lion could have sworn that she was going the wrong way to find candy or maybe real food. Nah, candy sounded better. She had been here since September first and she was still getting lost. Really it was all her fault because when she walked with her friends she didn't pay much attention to her surroundings only to the person that she was following. As much as the blonde wanted candy she was so up to taking a stroll around the castle to get to know it more. No far up ahead Emmylou had seen a person. "Excuse me." the only girl with a Southern accent in the castle had called to the boy that was up in front of her. |

Emmylou stood there and waited for the boy to turn around, that's if he even heard her. Sometimes her voice was really soft and sometimes it wasn't but this was one of those times was it was soft. She just need candy in her system to get her body working correctly. As he turned around she studied him with her ocean blue eyes. "Do you know where I can find some candy?" she asked and she gave him a small wave and sweet smile. She just really needed candy but making a friend during this time wouldn't be so horrible to, she was always up for making new friends. |
Quote:
He didn't know but he didn't like it. Candy? Right. Back to the reason she had called him over. "It's your lucky day," he told her, chuckling as he reached down into his pocket. "Because I had some extra on me. What do you like? I have a chocolate frog and... some jelly beans." he offered, looking up from his pocket and smiling at the girl. "I'm Dylan, by the way." he added. Might as well introduce himself, yeah? Quote:

To the lovely Agatha :mwaha: Brrrrrrrrr..... Simon folded his arms across his chest, hugging them closer to him so he could keep warm. When that didn't work, he pulled out his wand, casting the Hot Air Charm. "Ventus!" he said and warmed himself up immediately. Ahhh.. Much better. However, soon enough, the heat disappeared. Simon continued walking. It was way too cold out here. He didn't even know why he was out here on a walk. What in the name of Merlin's Beard had ever possessed him to think that taking a brief walk outside in the below zero degree Celsius weather was smart? Plus the snow was getting worse by the minute. Visibility was getting really bad as well. He pursed his lips. It'd be good to stop for a little bit. He stopped in his tracks to fixed his scarf. Cold, cold, cold, cold.... |
Heeheeeeee haaaaaaaaaai!!! *tackles* Quote:
She reckoned a walk around the grounds would do some good, so she went for it. In fact, she even considered visiting her uncle, but... maybe it wasn't such a good idea, regarding the subject and all. Her uncle wasn't as involved in everything as she was, but he was still part of the family, so he was involved to some degree. The girl heaved a long, slightly dramatic sigh as she kicked some piles of snow on her way to... wherever she was going. It was only after kicking the snow that she realised it hit someone. "Oh." Was all that she said as she stared at... a housemate she didn't know. |

As Emmylou waited to figure out what kind of candy that the boy had and even what his name was she felt the cold wind blow and the snow was just coming down like there was no tomorrow. The third year lion looked towards the sky and just watched the snowflakes falling down to the ground. She had seen snow before but she wasn't one to be outside in it because she wasn't used to the cold. She was from a place where it rarely snowed or was even cold for that matter. Emmylou's ocean blue eyes found the boys face, he looked like he was about her age, she gave him a warm smile. |
SPOILER!!: Snake Girl OW! Simon bit his tongue really hard when someone kicked him in the shin. Ooh, that was painful. For a few moments, he forgot about the freezing weather when he focused on his right shin. His poor shin! He rubbed it briefly and the pain went away rather quickly. Ahh... Much better. He glanced up to see who kicked his shin and he saw that it was a pretty girl about his age who had done it. Merlin. He had seen her around the Common Room once or twice, but he had never gotten to know her name. Simon gave the stranger a smile. "Erm... Hi! Didn't see you there," he said with a wave. He paused. "I think I know you from somewhere... Were you in that mind-boggling Arithmancy class?" he asked before his blue eyes widened for a second. Oh wait! He'd forgotten to introduce himself. How rude of him. "I'm Simon. Simon Holden" he said as he held out a hand towards her in a gesture of a handshake. Yep, 'twas the polite thing to do to a nice lady. |
Text Cut: I already like Simon xD Oh. She had actually kicked his shin. Woops. "Sorry." She finally said, once the boy was done rubbing his shin. Agatha didn't quite sound apologetic, though, but maybe it was because she simply didn't know how to sound that way. And to be fair, she didn't really think it had been completely her fault. But she said sorry anyway because it was probably the right thing to do and Agatha was a good girl. Of course she was. He didn't see her there? "I didn't see you there either." Which was true, but it made Agatha immediately consider this excuse the next time she felt like kicking someone on purpose. She would have to remember that one. The girl didn't understand why he was waving, though. She was really close and waves were the type of thing you did when people were far from you. What an odd ki-- ohhhhhh! She had seen him before. That's the kid who hangs out with Ethan and Cutty all the time. No wonder he was slightly weird - Ethan was probably rubbing off on him already. "Yes, I was. And you're the kid who's always with Ethan and Cutty." When the boy widened his eyes, Agatha was suspicious. She was about to question him when he introduced himself. She blinked and looked at his hand then up at him again before deciding to reach out and give him a quick handshake. "Nice to meet you. I'm Agatha Hapgood." Polite, she was. A true lady, mind you. Did he know? "Are you a third year too?" |
SPOILER!!: D'awww XD Miss Agatha When the mysterious girl apologized to him, he gave her an easy-going grin. It could have definitely been the other way around and Simon would have spent the whole time apologizing to the pretty girl. "No worries, it happens. It's quite easy to do that in this wonderful weather we're having," he said with a sarcastic emphasis on wonderful. The weather was dreadful. Winter was pretty when it snowed lightly, but when it snowed heavily... Well... That was an entirely different story! So she was in Arithmancy with him! Aha! Connections. Thank Merlin, Simon had sort of remembered her. If she hadn't attended that class due to an illness or something, he could've gotten himself into an awkward situation. He nodded when she mentioned Ethan and Cutty. "Yep, we're good friends," he explained. He had bonded with the two Mordaunts rather quickly and he was glad to have finally made some friends. He had been rather lonely back in September. They were a unique group, but together they made an incredible team. Simon was a special fish. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Agatha," he said with a grin. He folded his arms again, bringing them closer to his chest. He nodded. "Yep! I am one too. Not ready for the O.W.L.S. just yet. I'd like one more year of freedom." He chuckled. "So how did you find that Arithmancy class?" |
Text Cut: Sir Simonn! Huh. This kid looked like he would accept anything you told him. Interesting. Agatha liked dealing with this kind of people. They usually ended up doing whatever she wanted. She gave him a small smile because of that. Lovely. "I like the snow." She told him, looking around and fixing her nice Slytherin scarf. "It didn't snow at all where I used to live." Hence she needed to get used to the cold again. Not that she'd admit it to anyone. Besides, it shouldn't take too long since she was British anyway. It was in her blood to be used to this kind of weather. Yes. Also, the snow allowed you to wear more fashionable clothes, which Agatha appreciated very much. But it was a boy that was right in front of her, so there was no point telling him that. He was good friends with Ethan and Cutty then. "I see." Agatha eyed him a bit, trying to decide whether this kid was more like Ethan or more like Cutty. At least he didn't have the same last name as the both of them. That would've been way too silly. He looked... normal so far. Good news. "Did you meet them here?" Or were they that sort of long-term friends? Hm, this kid was polite. Another point for him. But... the way he grinned... "Do you have a relative in Hufflepuff?" She asked out of the blue. She had seen someone very similar to him in the yellow uniform, she was sure. He'd like one more year of freedom. "If there were any exams like those in our year, I'm sure I'd do very well." Lies. But she was convinced she would. Besides, many professors already like her, so that probably meant something. She was very clever. "The Sorting Hat told me I was clever." She commented proudly. No one had ever, EVER told her she was clever, so she felt the need to let people know the Hat had said that. Uuuuuuuhhhhhh...... Agatha felt awkward being asked about Arithmancy class. Her eyes went from a tree nearby to another tree, then to pile of snow that she felt like kicking again. "I liked it." She finally said, still looking at the snow. "It was..." Hmmm, she didn't want to tell him she thought it was confusing... AND that she was upset by the end. But it was very difficult to hide her awkwardness at the moment, so her pulled her scarf closer to her face and avoided looking straight at Simon. "It was alright. I was partners with this weird Ravenclaw, though. He was a bit odd." The snake tried to divert the topic a bit. "Did you like it?" |
SPOILER!!: Agatha! She liked the snow? :whaa: He nodded in agreement. Her reasoning made sense. Simon hadn't really seen snow much either when he was younger. Living in Melbourne, it rarely snowed. And besides, the snow would melt rather quickly so he never got to see the snow accumulate so much. "Where did you used to live? If you don't mind me asking. I used to live in Melbourne where we didn't really have any snow at all." If the snow was slightly warmer then perhaps Simon would enjoy it more. He preferred spending hot summer days on the beach than living in freezing winters. Simon nodded, grinning. "Yes, I met them about the same time. Cutty in a Herbology Class. Ethan at the Treehouse. To be honest, there much more outgoing than me," he explained honestly. Yes. He was the quieter one. They had Ethan the Extrovert, Cutty the Balanced, and Simon the Introvert. The boy blinked. A relative in Hufflepuff? He shook his head, confused. "No, I don't have any relatives that go to this school. I'm the only one in my whole family who has magical abilities," he explained to her. He nodded when she said that she'd do well. "I'm sure. I'm pretty certain that I would do well too after doing the required amount of study," he said and nodded. Because you couldn't cram all the studying into one night if you wanted to get a perfect score. The sorting hat said she was clever? He nodded. "That's very kind of the hat. Why wouldn't you be? Just cause you're not a Ravenclaw, doesn't mean you're clever or not." The Hat had informed Simon that he would needed to be more outgoing. He raised his eyebrows when Agatha said that she liked had liked the class. Really!? He was rather taken aback by that answer because he had thought that it was a rather horrible class. Simon looked down at his snow covered feet and nodded. "It was interesting and rather confusing. It's not my favourite class here, but somehow my answers made sense to the Professor," he explained as he remembered Professor Domingo stopping by him and encouraging him to continue thinking more. |

AJ watched as the guy treated his camera like it was the last chocolate frog left in the entire wizarding world. She got it though, she knew that people got crazy over their favorite things. The first year nodded. "It does. My full name is Aubrey Janel Valentine, but I like to just go by AJ." All she did was pull together the first letter of her first and middle name and Viola! AJ suited her way better to if you asked her. So she wasn't going crazy! That was always good to know. "I swear I think it gets colder every time I come outside now. Maybe Hogwarts is trying to get rid of some of us?" How else would you explain the north pole conditions? |
Text Cut: Simonn!! Agatha tried not ot make a face when he asked her where she had lived. "Brazil. I started studying magic there, two years ago." She told him, shrugging. "Hogwarts is much better." The girl added, looking up at Simon and nodding to emphasise her words. "It doesn't snow at all down there either, which I find boring." Their season were basically: dry and sunny or rain ALL day long. At least in Brasília. Boo. Boring. "I like how we can tell the seasons apart quite well here in the UK." Snow in the winter, flowers in sprind and all that jazz. Except for summer, which wasn't very hot, but she didn't mind. The third year listened as the boy explained how he had met Cutty and Ethan. They were more outgoing than him? "If by that you mean you're quieter than Ethan, then that's good." Agatha stated, looking at Simon in the eyes. Was he quieter then? He seemed to be. Actually, this was the first time the girl ever heard Simon's voice. He was definitely quieter. Agatha approved. "Cutty's normal, though. It's fine if you're like him." The girl said truthfully. She wouldn't mind having someone else like Cutty around. That particular Mordaunt wasn't silly like the rest of the boys their age. "You look like someone from that house." She explained. Ohhhh, he was a Muggleborn! Agatha looked at him curiously. "What's that like??" Having non-magical relatives must be the strangest thing ever. Not that Agatha was a pureblood, but she didn't have any close relatives that were Muggles. "You don't take Muggle Studies then, right?" Which meant she wouldn't be able to ask him what she had missed whenever she didn't attend a lesson. She'd have to remember that. Doing the required amount of study... something Agatha was still supposed to do. "Yeah." She said like she was all caught up with homework and everything. She wasn't, though, but Simon didn't need to know that. Agatha liked his remark about cleverness. She totally took that as if he was saying she was clever and slightly lifted her head, proud. "That's true. I agree." Why, Simon was cleverer than the Ravenclaws she knew! See, this totally proved her theory that Slytherins were the best kind of people. They didn't need the others houses, really. Slytherins had all their traits and more. The girl did a hair flip, proud of her discovery. She immediately fixed her scarf again, because the hair flip made some chill wind reach her neck and it was COLD. Brrrr. She stepped on top of the snow that started covering her feet. "To be honest, I still haven't met a bright Ravenclaw." ...She might be generalising a bit. Just a bit. Simon looked surprised by the fact Agatha had liked Arithmancy. She wouldn't tell him it was mainly because of the teacher. Let him think she did well on the subject too. "Professor Domingo is really nice, I like her." Agatha nodded, hugging herself to get a bit warmer. "My... answers made sense as well." She guessed. The teacher didn't correct her or anything, so it was a good sign, right? Merlin, was there a spell to make them feel less cold?? She kind of understood why people didn't like the snow so much. |
SPOILER!!: Agathaaaa! Brazil? That was so far away from England! The weather must've been nice down there. To the young Australian, Brazil sounded like an awesome place to attend a magical institution. However, he was certain that Agatha would've experienced a huge culture shock. "I agree. It's a lot better here then where I used to be. I like the Professors better here. They're much more helpful and encouraging," he said, adding his own two-cents to the conversation. He nodded. Simon could agree with Agatha on the fact that in the UK, you really felt the change of seasons. Oh yes. He had felt the weather drop quite rapidly from October to November. It was as if someone had flicked a switch and made everything become covered with snow! "Well, its actually not too difficult to be quieter than Ethan," he added chuckling as he fixed his warm woolen hat. Despite how loud Ethan was, he was always fun to hang out with. Sometimes, Simon wished he could be as outgoing and lively as Ethan was. He admired his friend for that. So Agatha enjoyed Cutty's company? Hmm.. Then the two of them might just get along. "Then we may just get along," he joked. Well they seemed to be getting on just alright at this precise moment. In a matter of seconds, things could get scarier. Girls could be scary. Very scary. He blinked. "Yes, so a lot of people have been telling me that I remind them of someone named.. Tom.. No.. Toby?" he said, trying to wrack his brains to remember the guy's name that many people had told him that he reminded them of. Simon would just have to meet this Toby to be the judge of that. Mhmm... Once again, he was surprised by the pretty Slytherin girl again. Merlin, he hadn't expected to get such an enthusiastic response about him being a muggleborn. Perhaps those old history textbooks had been wrong after all. "Uhh... I don't know really," he began as he started to think about it more. "The magical world all kind of feels like I'm in a dream. It's so overwhelmingly amazing. Half the time, I'm practically a deer in the headlights. I guess you could say its kind of like Alice in Wonderland. I really hope that I'm not in a dream; otherwise, that would be way too cruel," Simon explained. He hoped that perhaps she would get the reference to the story he had mentioned. Simon didn't know how else to explain this situation that he was in. Then the girl perked up in response to his comment about being clever. He nodded. Of course, it was true! The houses weren't supposed to be silly little stereotypes. Why he had met a couple of people who he thought would've been better in other houses than Slytherin; however, the Sorting Hat must've put each one of them in Slytherin for a specific purpose. He smirked as he watched the girl flip her hair. He chuckled at her generalization. "Well.. I haven't even met a Ravenclaw yet so I can't say either way," he explained laughing. He probably sounded rather silly saying that, but for some reason, he didn't actually care for once. He nodded in agreement once more. Wow, he was doing a lot of nodding in this conversation! For all he knew, he could've kept nodding for the whole time without pausing. *Ahem* "Yes! She is pretty friendly," he added, remembering the first time he saw Lolita Domingo enter the room. From the first moment, he knew that she was a fireball. She had sass. He admired that. "That's good. Hopefully the homework won't take too long then!" Ah yes, he needed to start that soon. |
Quote:
Jellybeans it was. He smiled, handing the small bag of jellybeans to her. "There you go." he said, noticing she really did have a strong accent. But he had never heard anyone from here have a Southern one like hers. Not that he thought it was weird sounding or anything. In fact, he liked the sound of it. "It's nice to meet you, Emmylou," he said with a nod, shivering slightly as a gust of wind blew past them. "Do you wanna head inside with me? I'm kinda cold and you look pretty cold too." he said with a chuckle. |
Quote:
Stupid. Cold. Emmylou wrapped her coat around her tighter. This was dumb. She just wanted to be outside and this weather wasn't making her like being outdoors anymore. Emmylou loved the outdoors but today she didn't like it at all. Did he just take out a bag of jelly beans? Emmylou had a huge smile on her face. "Thank you so much." Emmylou said with a smile and gave him a hug. Emmylou pulled away and ate a few jelly beans as she shivered. "I would love to go inside." The blonde nodded. Then she ate a few more jelly beans. They were so yummy! |
Text Cut: Aww, he's a nice Slythie!! I like nice Slythies x) Oh? He used to live somewhere else too? "Where is that?" Agatha could actually pick up an accent when he spoke, but she didn't really know where it was from. "I agree, the professors here are very nice." At least all the ones Agatha knew. "You know, I know some of them personally." She added, nodding solemnly. "As in, I've been to their houses and stuff." That was partially true. She's only been to one professor's house, but she chose to use the plural because that soudned more impressive. "And I've been to Disney with Airey. Professor Flamsteed. My uncle took me with them." Agatha just felt the need to share that with Simon because that was just some awesome information about herself, right there. Everyone should admit that it was all pretty cool. Nod nod. Agatha was amused by Simon's comment about Ethan's loudness. So amused she even let out a soft, short laugh. "That's true." The girl agreed as she resumed strolling down the pathways. She wasn't going to visit her uncle, but standing still in the middle of the snow was almost impossible! Maybe walking would warm her up a bit. Simon's remark about them getting along after her made her turn her head to look at him and she smiled behind her thick scarf. He was definitely more like Cutty. She hadn't been the first to tell him he looked like someone then. "I don't know his name, but I think he's in third year too." Or something. Maybe she was wrong, but it wasn't like she cared anyway. "All I know is that you look like him and that he wears the Hufflepuff uniform." The snake shrugged as she squinted her eyes when a slightly stronger breeze blew her hair over her face. Stupid wind!! She frowned and started trying to get her e[Ibeautiful[/I] hair out of her face. As she did that, she listened to Simon tell her about being a Muggleborn. Her hair was annoying her a bit, but she managed to hear words like 'deer in the headlight' and 'Alice in Wonderland'. What an odd way of putting things. When her face was clear again, she blinked at him. "Interesting." She said shortly as if analysing the story. "I can tell you this is not a dream, though. This is the real world." Agatha would consider gesturing around if she wasn't so cold. All she did was to go back to hugging herself and hope her hair wouldn't go all over her face again. The third year was looking down at the path they were walking and gave another hidden small smile. She heard him laugh at his statement about Ravenclaws and... just watched him for a few seconds before speaking again. "The ones I met are strange." She paused as she realised something. "Except for Brynn. She's really nice and smart." But it was only one amongst... well, to be fair, she didn't know many Ravenclaws. Nigel had been the one to make her come up with the stereotype. "Gryffindors are silly." Agatha added. She'd seen and met loads of them and came to that conclusion without having to think twice. She thought for a bit and... she couldn't remember any Hufflepuffs she knew, so she couldn't say anything about that house. "Only Slytherins are cool." She gave her final judgement with another solemn nod. Another generalisation, but it was absolutely true in her opinion. Not that she had any good friends in the house; she didn't. She didn't have any actual friend at all in Hogwarts yet, to be honest, but that was another thing Simon didn't need to know. Of course professor Domingo was friendly! "She's amazing!" Agatha admired the woman a lot. Especially after she gave her style points. "It shouldn't take long. I think it's probably very easy." ...She was lying. The Slytherin had no idea how she'd do with her homework. "Besides, we can use our textbooks." She casually pointed out as if she had just thought of that. But truth be told, she was definitely going to use their book because she had NO idea how that number thing worked. "What's your favourite class then?" |

The forest was no longer hospitable. The signs had been unclear for a time, yet had since made themselves visible to the colony of centaurs who resided there. Many of the animals that had also called the forest home begun to flee and Gurion knew with great reluctance that they would have to follow. It seemed that day had come. Hooves barely making a sound in the snow as he stepped through the large drifts, he braced himself against the cold winds as he made his way towards the school known as Hogwarts. Had Thereos already made it there? Gurion had only momentarily gotten separated from his colony. Heading up the pathway towards the great castle, this centaur paid little attention to the handful of human foals scattered there besides finding it curious that they were not under the protection of shelter in this hostile weather. Youth was often foolish. |
