As you enter the room, the first thing you see in the middle of the room is a hand-made Turkish carpet and nothing else. To the immediate right of the door stands a coat hanger for four coats a time, and you are expected to hang your coat there before fully entering the room. Professor's desk and two chairs in front of it are located at the right end with three pictures hanging from the wall, and his bookcase and 'emergency potions' shelves with a representational potion brewing set are located at the left end of the room. The walls are painted light blue.
The desk and visitors' set look expensive, and they indeed are. They are from genuine mahogany, all cut from the same wood. There is usually a big pile of papers hastily arranged at the farther side of the desk, and you will always see a potion phial and a book on the more organised side. Behind it is his office chair, and in front of it are two comfortable looking armchairs with a coffee table between them. You'll find a bowl of sweets that is filled with cheering up potion that will last for approximately three hours. Go on, take a cherry, apple, orange or lemon flavoured. Be careful not to take the last lemon though, because they are his favourite.
To the right side of the wall behind the desk hangs a picture depicting a Mardin, Midyat house with smiling kids sometimes singing a song and sometimes playing a game. To the left is a painting depicting Afghanistan with an old wizard at the centre of it. He is brewing a mysterious potion and will be more than happy to speak to you in Persian, but he just smiles upon asking about what he is doing. He was a respected wizard of Afghanistan, and Professor Culloden paid a fortune for the painting, so act accordingly. Beneath them in the middle hangs a picture of Borneo rainforests with birds and insects. If you are lucky, you will be treated with a birds lullaby and if you are unlucky, the insects will drill your brains with their buzzing sound.
The middle is only occupied by a handmade Turkish rug. While you may step on it, you will land yourself in detention faster than you can say 'potion' if those shoes are muddy or wet.
At the other end of the room is a bookcase full of books about potions, both muggle and magical plants and animals. Don't be surprised if you see your professor's name on 3-4 of them. Depending on how much he likes you, he may lend them to you.
On the shelves next to the bookcase stands his golden, representational potions brewing set and a few phials full of different potions. Along with the carpet and pictures, the set is his most prized possession.
If you can find him in his office, you are 'okay' to pay a visit.
A first she wouldn't let herself believe the lie that the Professor might have actually been amused. No. She was waiting for the real reaction, the one she'd known was coming the moment she spoke the words 'Corkrash Collarbin' to Dima on the train, but the longer she stood there was the more amused he seemed to get until even she was trying to hide a grin. Would she admit to being proud that in her naivity she got away with calling the Headmistress something she would dare uttering now? Maybe. No, definitely.
Could she risk a grin?
He'd officially laughed so she was going to assume this wasn't that kind of meeting anymore. Her pride rose high into her chest and she allowed herself a small grin. "I did Sir. She swooped into the Compartment on Official business while we were on the train and mentioned she was Headmistress. I reckon I had a smile more eager than Dima's when I called her that....then she dug her nails into my shoulder and nearly killed me but yeah....totally worth it when I think about it."
Not to mention it leaving a lasting first impression on the then unsorted Firstie who had no idea what to expect from their new Hadmistress. What a ride that was.
See, see, he wanted to be angry at her. He did. For calling Annie that, and for also calling him that. But - she was mislead the first time, and she wanted a revenge. The Slytherin could understand that. He was also amazed by her courage: speaking to the Headmistress when she had just entered the magical world, getting a first year call Cosgrach (he'd like to call himself the most ferocious professor on staff, if he may) that, AND being here not denying her actions (although his Slytherin mind couldn't understand WHY she didn't even try)... you've got to admire her, and that made it harder for him to be angry. So he decided not to be angry in the end, but to try to understand her. The Gryffindor mind was still a mystery to the man, and she was going to be his entry into that.
"But what would you feel if Dima was here instead of you? If I wasn't this nice and held him accountable..?" Let's see how a Gryffindor would act, then.

Feeling a lot more relaxed than when she'd first gotten here Lex actually flopped into the seat that was offered to her earlier. This wasn't half bad right here and she took a moment to wiggle her butt proper into the seat before looking up to the Professor, trying to hide the fact she was offended by the question.
Excuuuuuuse you?
"I wouldn't be feeling anything Professor, because Dima wouldn't have made it to your office, not on his own regardless of whether or not I was invited as well." She wasn't cruel you know. "It's like I said, I wasn't trying to get him into trouble and if you'd have gotten mad back in the class I'd have stood and explained everything then and there. Kid's only 11, that'd be mean and cowardly."
Alexa Christina Cambridge was NOT a coward thank you very much. "Had my basis covered and I'm responsible enough to take my own blame. I don't hide behind anyone, especially not someone a foot shorter than I am."Snort. Not even.

...she was such a Gryffindor! Merlin! Honourable one, too. And not that stupid. She knew where to stop and what to say... generally... Cosgrach could like her. Maybe. He certainly respected her. He wouldn't have... well, at least, the old Cosgrach had got a lot of kids in trouble, and it was nice to see Alexa wasn't that kind of girl. Yet. Hopefully would never be.
"What does it mean, then?" he asked as his tone was getting softer and closer to his normal conversation tone, "'Collarbin', I mean?"

Perhaps the Professor had simply been asking her a trick question, just to see how much of a good Prefect she'd come to be over the past year. If that was the case she was sure she'd just passed the test, yeah? Not leaving a man behind, never letting someone else take the fault. Granted these were all things she possessed anyway but people only really seemed to notice when you had a badge on. Funny how that worked.
Her brows crinkled showing her confusion before he clarified his next question. The name Collarbin...? He wanted to know the meaning? For a moment she didn't know what to say. It wasn't meant to mean anything...not really. She'd never given it much thought. Finally, she shrugged. "It doesn't actually have a meaning Sir, it's just a name that bears clever resemblance to your own name that I came up with." Alexa wasn't a Ravenclaw. Adding too much thought to something killed the fun.
"Just a name I like really."

Well? Why was she surprised, even? It must have a mean -
Oh.
He didn't answer right away, but tried out both of them in his mind. He even looked at the ceiling without focus while he tried them out - he was that concentrated.
"Actually..." more calculation, "I think... yeah. They resemble each other." He straightened up in his chair then and leaned forward towards her. "So are you absolutely sure it's not meant to humiliate me? A name you use to gossip about me?"

HMM?
Lex watched the Professor look at everything but her. At first she thought he was giving way to his silent anger again but then she realized he was just...staring. She'd wait a little longer before deciding whether it was a good thing or not. For the moment she simply sat in her chair and watched him. If she was being honest, this was going a lot better than she imagined it would when she saw the Professor shooting dagger glares at her during the lesson. MUCH better.
Finally he spoke and the question actually took her aback.
They were going with honesty, right? Last she checked that seemed the order of the day so the Gryffindor sat straighter in her own chair, back pressed to the cushioned back of the chair.
"I don't gossip Professor. I believe that anything I've got to say should be said to the person it's about. I find when you gossip people never learn that they annoy or amuse you and it's not very fair to them." If someone was an idiot she needed them to KNOW. How else would they mend their ways? Hmmmmm? "And I do everyone the courtesy of not trying to humiliate them because I've come to learn that not everyone's got a backbone like my own."
That being said......"The name.......wasn't really for either purpose. Thinking about it, it popped into my head sometime last term after you'd done something I didn't particularly agree with...." Annoyed the hell out of her really. "But it just sorta...stuck after."

Oh, good, she didn't gossip. And you know what? Cosgrach took her word for it. So she got 'good I like this' points for that, and...
WHAT?
"WhendidIevenannoyyou?!" he asked in a shocked and complaining voice as if he was perfect and could never annoy people. But really, he wanted to KNOW what his fault had been.

Oh?
The Professor's rushed response got an eyebrow raise from the Gryffindor. Could he really not think of anything? Well she suppose it'd been a whole term ago. Thanks to the aging, even she was having some trouble remembering last term but for the most part her recollection was working with her.
"............You ruined my potion then said I had to fix it myself."
Sure he'd done that to the whole class but she wasn't the whole class. Her concern was for herself and the time she wasted. Time that wouldn't have otherwise been wasted because Alexa could read and would have followed what the book said to a 'T' if Mr. Shiny Potion Degree didn't insist otherwise. "It's not just because it's you. I'd have been upset at any Professor who'd done it, see, I don't like waste. It's why I nearly broke Dima's nose back in class--but I didn't because violence is frowned upon and as a Prefect I'm meant to set a good example." Ahem. Yes. Official story right there, but Dima WAS going to get it for discarding the potion she'd worked hard at brewing, making it essentially a waste.

"But - " It DIDN'T make sense! Cosgrach didn't even hear the Dima part - because - he frowned. Alexa was being silly. For him, it had been a BRILLIANT lesson (not that he had been there to enjoy it but hehe). "You - learnt how to act under pressure AND FIX a potion, Alexa! That's time wonderfully spent!" Didn't she see? FEEL? Potions was BEAUTIFUL, and to learn how to FIX it -
Eh, never mind. He didn't expect her to share this beauty. She wasn't that type of girl. :mweh:
"So you're free to go if you're sure 'Collarbin' means no harm," he said in this bored and disappointed tone (she didn't like the BEST lesson he'd taught them!). Mweeeeeh.
There were a million different ways to tell the Professor he was wrong but she didn't see things going anywhere, not anytime soon so she simply nodded. Technically all it taught her was patience. There was no pressure. If the potion couldn't be fixed it would have been no skin off HER back. But sure. The Professor could have it. All a part of telling Professors what they want to hear. She'd learned to do that after the first few years here.
There was another nod.
Of course she was sure of her reasons behind Collarbin, she'd been the one to make them afterall and if she wanted to humiliate him, a name would be the last thing she'd think of. Too many other grand opportunities. "I'll be sure they hear it from you first Professor, so there's no confusion." Then if they wanted to believe her story afterward....well...that wasn't really her problem, was it?
With that the Gryffindor hopped up. "Have a good one Professor."Definitely not as bad as she thought it'd be!
* * *
She'd spent her evening up in her dorm sorting and resorting the sweets in her candy bag as she usually did when she was looking for a way to calm down. Lex must have created 100 different combinations before the clock on her night table told her it was nearly 7 and she'd missed her chance at dinner. Didn't matter, she'd lost her appetite anyway. After a quick locking charm placed on her trunk, effectively locking away that heavy badge she'd been given, Lex exited the Common Room and headed for the dungeons.
At the pace she was walking she'd have gotten there by 7 on the dot or somewhere around there. Punctual and cooperative. That was how you got through detentions. You showed up, did what the Professor wanted then left not being any better or worse for it.
Lex gave a brief knock, announcing her arrival before pushing the door open and entering. "Good Evening Professor." And a polite nod to go with it. Let the pretending begin.

Cosgrach nodded his agreement. Whatevs. She didn't like his lessons anyway, why bother? "You too," he muttered after her, and had a hard time holding himself back to question Sophie about how fun his classes were.

And she came. Promptly at 7 PM too.
Cosgrach nodded at her with a very disturbed expression. "Take a seat, please," he said and sighed. He didn't want to do this. But he kind of had to. At least, what he had in mind was...
"I don't want to give you a detention," he started, "but I did say next person to be rude would get it." He puffed his cheeks. "Would you believe me if I said I actually like you and appreciate the way you are leading your house?"

Please say 'yes'.
Lex stood at the door until she'd been invited to sit, at which point she shut the door behind her and made her way across the room. Usually she'd have opted to stand but this was detention. For all she knew this was a part of the punishment, like the seat charmed for discomfort that Hadley had forced her to use. Not letting herself think about it too much, she took a seat and turned her focus to him, a dull glow in her usually bright eyes.
There was a flicker, a small spark at his words. The Gryffindor had a brilliant memory and that wasn't how it'd gone. Lex bit her lip, deciding she could let him go on anyway but it wasn't long before the words came out regardless. "You said the next one to make a rude comment. I cast a nonverbal spell and Kevin wasn't allowed to speak anymore. I was helping." But of course it didn't matter. No. Why would it? Arguing would have been a lost cause here. Not to mention very disrespectful and so unprefect-like. Merlin she'd heard enough of that damned word.
Lex leaned back in her seat not daring to cross her arms, no, that would be bad too. Sooooo bad. Might give her a whole nother detention. Circe forbid that happen. Her hazel eyes locked on his, hoping he'd move on but it looked like he was actually waiting on an answer. Ugh. Couldn't she just be punished and released. "Did you want an honest answer Professor? Or one that will get us through this detention sooner?"

Oh, Merlinmerlinmerlin. Someone help him, because Cosgrach KNEW this was the biggest challenge of his being a professor so far.
"I know you were helping, Alexa, I know." He shot a very troubled gaze. Did she see his dilemma? Probably not. "But, you see, you shouldn't have used a spell on another student. And I'm not even talking about the prefect stuff - I mean, in general. So that's why, before you give your honest answer to that question, let me tell you this: this isn't a real detention. I won't run to Seren to announce you got in trouble or something - if anything, I'll tell her you helped." So that Seren WOULD know about Kevin and Zahra, as he still had her wand. "I just said 'detention' to shut Kevin up - in another way." See? Could her Gryffindor brain see his sly move?
Lucky for him, the odour hadn't reached Cosgrach yet.
He was reading the newspaper when he heard the knock. He was in casual muggle clothes: jeans and a shirt. Although it was freezing outside, his office was very well heated, and he wished no one bothered to disturb him.
But they did. Oh well.
With a sigh, he collected the newspaper and walked to open the door. Work those muscles and such.
"Hello?"
.......did it........smell here?
She was nervous. Leah took out her perfume and sprayed a bit on herself once more before the door opened. Standing up and staggering a little, the girl walked up to the professor and said, "Good afternoon, Professor Culloden. I hope I was not disturbing.." Oh well, she could tell that he did not want to be disturbed. "I'm sorry." She really was.
"I wanted to talk to you just about... stuff." Leah said, entering the office. She was allowed to enter, right? Anyway, she had to get this over with soon. Sitting down uncomfortably in an armchair, she continued, "I have accepted a dare recently, and I need your help, Professor. I don't know how to deal with it." That was partly true. She sighed.
Then the second year snuck her hand inside her pocket to make sure that the dungbomb was safe and sound inside.

She was disturbing, but Cosgrach figured being honest wasn't 100% the right thing to do, so he shrugged. "It's okay, Leah," he said and went to sit down on his chair himself.
...and the smell continued...
But his innocent heart suspected nothing. Her, at least. Because she was a good -
DARE...dare...dare.
He hated that word.
He also couldn't fathom why she would accept dares, but he didn't say anything. At least she was honest, so... maybe they could both act like it was done and she'd leave? Yeah??!!
"Go on," he said only, his lips hardly moving, as he was suddenly stressed out and leaned aaall the way back in his chair with a white face and slightly faster breathing.

"thank you for meeting me quickly," he said, "please, come in." he stepped aside. The bowl on his small coffee table between two armchairs were gone. Instead, he had a tray of tea and cookies made by house elves. Although he didn't believe he could eat, he hoped she would like them. There also stood a wand on the tray, and clearly it wasn't his.
He sat on an armchair as well. They were colleagues. His table between them would be stupid.
As it so happened, she didn't need to wait long at all. Seren returned the friendly smile that greeted her at the door. "Oh not at all, as I mentioned in the owl, this meeting is overdue..." she really had been meaning to catch him sooner. But, she was here at his request, so whatever it was that he wanted to talk about obviously came first. It sounded... urgent.
"Thank you," she replied, stepping over the threshold and into the office space. It was different to what she had been expecting, and the two things that struck her most was the blue of the walls and the handsome rug. No, that was a lie... the tea and cookies also captured her attention and she immediately gravitated to a seat beside them. "So what is it you wanted to talk to me about?" she asked, still smiling, though clearly concerned. And, was that Kevin's wand? Or was this one Zahra's?

So he did know she was trying to help. Typical of a Professor. They didn't know what gratitude was or how to show it. Well Collarbin would never have that problem with her again. She was done helping. Just like she was done helping Botros. They were the Professors who'd given her the badge as a means of decoration. Well now it could decorate the inside of her trunk.
Lex noted the troubled look of the Professor but she couldn't figure why. It's not like he'd been the one called out for trying to do a good thing but she wouldn't question it, especially not now that he was going on and she figured this was the part where she listened. Always had one of those in detention. Her nose wrinkled subconsciously at the mention of the word Prefect. It shouldn't be possible to hate a word so much. It may have been a problem in general but he had to be honest. It wouldn't have been nearly as bad if someone without a badge had done it. Prefects were supposed to 'know better'. Still she nodded, indicating she was listening.
Time went still the moment he said it wasn't a real detention and the Gryffindor leaned forward in her seat, wondering if she was hearing right. She wasn't in trouble, and he'd tell her HoH she was....helping? She didn't actually know what to say. Nothing was coming to her so she just sat there staring. That was all the reaction he got out of the Gryffindor. A stare.

Oh, direct to the point. He liked that. It meant they could be done with this faster as he wished. He still had to meet with Alexa and Kevin after this.
"During the class earlier today, Kevin was angry at something, I believe, so he accidentally broke a bottle of doxy venom," he said, "and I told him he'd help me clean the class after lesson and the lab for a week. I normally wouldn't mind it, but it's doxy venom, and he ought to be more careful. And I was half-joking? With the lab, I mean. Just to see whether he'd learnt some manners." He sighed dramatically. "Then he shouted at me, a few people told him to be more respectful, Zahra spoke to Kyroh - a sweet Ravenclaw first year - very rudely and threatened Ravenclaws?" Zahra, the Minister's Daughter-Zahra. Did she know? Oh, Merlin. "So I warned them that the next person to say something would be in detention. I also made it clear to Kevin that he only had to come for this evening, and I took 5 points off Zahra." The Minister's Daughter-Zahra. "Needless to say, Kevin shouted more, and with luck, I could keep calm. Realised giving him detention doesn't work, so I shrugged and warned him one last time. Then, with Alexa's help, he shut up." Thankfully. He liked that girl, he did. If only... "Zahra too. But she dumped all the ingredients into her cauldron at once, and started waving her wand randomly. The potion melted her cauldron. She is lucky she isn't hurt. Hence, I took her wand away." He indicated to the wand on the trolley. "Told her she can take it from you. I figured you should know about this since you're their head of house and all." He'd completely understand if she didn't want to be, though. Couldn't really blame her. This was the second time he was going to her about Kevin. Who knew how much of a trouble the kid was in total?

...staring?
Well, at least her focus had changed, so he took it as a positive sign, yeah?
"What I want you to do is -"
Hold on a second! Her badge? Where was her badge? He gaped at her chest, completely forgot what he was going to say, and practically looked for that small thing for a moment. It wasn't there. She... could they even resign? She hadn't, had she? Not because of him? He frowned deeply and his face even whitened a little. N - no, no no. It wasn't him. She must have forgotten about it or something. Yeeeeah.
"Well, promise me you'll read the school rules again and... you'll probably hate me for saying this, but, try to think more slyly. I appreciate your guts, but it isn't always the correct move."

Well?
Lex seemed to be on a listening roll right this moment so instead of trying to find words, she continued on the silent listening track because there was something he needed her to do?
Alright, she could keep an open mind. This wasn't detention. Whatever he asked wouldn't be...that bad...Lex's brows crinkled as she watched the Professor. Was he looking for something? The Gryffindor's expression changed to reflect the her current wonder at his staring but then given where he was staring, it finally hit her and she scowled deeply. "You won't find it Professor. It's locked away in my trunk back in my dorm." So quit looking. Boring a hole through her chest with his eyes wouldn't magically make it appear any time soon. Was that clear? Good, she could continue listening now.
He wanted her to read the rules again? Eh.......no. No she'd pass on that one thanks. They were disappointing enough the first time. "I make no promises about that Sir but I must ask what you suggest as it concerns being sly." She straightened once again. "Did you see me jinx him? I'd have gotten away with it if I hadn't tried that responsibility thing Professors are always going on about." Her limited conscience would have allowed her to walk out of the room without a second glance at Kevin but the badge on her robe would not. Consequently it would spend the rest of the year in her trunk.
"I wouldn't count out my gut either. It's the reason Kevin doesn't have to see the Healer." See. Her wand and her will wanted nothing more than to send a couple stinging hexes at him, have him leave with some singes to remember her by but her gut said otherwise so Langlock it was. Sometimes she thought her gut was weak.

Though he hadn't offered her a cookie, per se, she helped herself to one anyway, crossing one leg over the other in the meantime so that she could sit attentively and hear what the potions master had to say, in comfort.
….
…....
And ….
Well. That was a lot to take in.
With the cookie raised to her mouth, and only a small bite taken out of it, Seren sat and stared. Bouncing Bloomin' Blueberries. How was it possible that she went from having no complaints about her Lions to have this many? It must be one of the man's talents. Finding flaws in Lions, and exasperating them. “Hhhmmm... I see,” she replied eventually, abandoning the slightly nibbled on cookie and placing it on the edge of the plate.
The best thing she could take from this situation was that Lex had been helpful, but that much she could have gathered for herself, the girl was a prefect for a reason. But with all this talk of Kevin and Zahra and Ravenclaws? What? …
“I'll have words with Zahra, and I'll likely notify her parents too so that they're aware of her behaviour and... academic progress...” or perhaps not progress, was it progressive? She could hardly tell, though melting a cauldron sounding more regressive than anything else. “As for Kevin, you're the only one I've heard complaints from... so perhaps we need to explore other avenues of behaviour management with him, because whatever you have tried with him clearly hasn't been working.” And if Kevin was angry to begin with, then perhaps a little TLC would have gone further than ignoring the underlying issue and provoking him with threats of a week long detention. “Have you considered discussing this with some of our peers? See how they manage him in their classes? Like I said to you last year, I haven't had any issues with Kevin myself, so there's not much I can do to support you if I haven't witnessed the behaviours for myself. Have you notified his parents?”

Cris stepped into Professor Culloden's office the moment he was invited. He had noticed the plate of cookies the Professor was holding in his hand, but he kept his eyes averted away from said plate and straight at his Potions Master's face.
"Thank you for seeing me, Professor. I was wondering whether I can seek you advice. I was planning to make the Vaxifloo potion in the Potions lab but I don't have two ingredients. An European eel and 5 drops of a Influenza virus. Could you tell me where I can get some of that?"
Yes he could OWL his mother to send the Eel but the dead virus? That was going to be a problem.
Lex seemed to be on a listening roll right this moment so instead of trying to find words, she continued on the silent listening track because there was something he needed her to do?

Oh.
Cosgrach wisely chose not to comment on it. He could only hope he wasn't the cause. He... wasn't, right? She was angry at someone else?
Yeeeah...
"Exactly," he said, eyes on hers. They would stay there until she walked out. No more searching for her badge. "You shouldn't have told me you'd jinxed him, because that's not responsible. Responsible is when you lift the jinx outside." See? If she was planning to let him know, why jinx the boy silently in the first place? "But how Kevin is still alive, that's responsibility." He shrugged in the end, though. "At least that's how I perceive the terms." A Gryffindor mind was clearly different than his, though.
"I'm sure you know the rules alright. Just... eh, never mind. You're free to go." So he appreciated her help, see? It was just plainly unrealistic of her to expect points when she attacked Kevin. Lang-lock or not, she'd still jinxed him, even if it had been for everyone's well-being.

…
Food for thought.
...notify her parents... that wold be the Minister. HIS Minister. The man that could practically fire him. Cosgrach knew absolutely nothing about the man. What if he was a sour peach that would have his head because he complained about her daughter? No. He wasn't endangering his position he'd earned so hard.
"Maybe we should keep the Min - her parents out of this for now," he said pleasantly, "and write to him only if Zahra doesn't cooperate." But Kevin? Cosgrach wanted to notify EVERYONE that KNEW him.
"That's funny about Kevin, though," he said, "because Leo has complained about the kid to me as well." See, he HAD asked a colleague. Leo. "Kevin had been very rude to him as well." Thoug Leo sadly didn't teach, so who knew how Kevin would have acted then? "I doubt his parents will be of much help too. Do you remember the meeting at your office last term? He'd practically said they let him have his own way when he does that thing called 'kitty eyes' or something." Cosgrach made a face that clearly showed he didn't approve of such parents. "But I'll write to them if you think this will solve the problem." He didn't know the kid, after all. Seren knew him better - and will you look at that! - Kevin caused no troubles with her.
Oooooh, that kid was going to DIE tonight during detention with him.

Noticing the frown on his Potions Master's face, Cris quickly explained his purpose for wanting to brew one.
"It's for my friend, Professor. He has this immune deficiency and he's been sick all his life. Even the simple cold will make him ill. He told me many times that he longs to go outdoors and play instead of being cooped up inside. I read that the Vaxifloo might be able to protect him from catching any of the flu strains. Was I wrong, Professor?" Cris was now starting to get worried as he waited anxiously for the Professor to reply.

Did she say something... wrong? Seren couldn't help but notice Cosgrach's response to her suggestion, and when he tripped on his words... was he about to say Minister? Was that what this was about? "Miss Kettleburn is a student... like every other..." she reminded him. The girl, delightful as she was, was not entitled to special treatment for the sake of her name and father's position. "But sure, fine." It was just a suggestion after all.
At this news her eyebrows arched. Leo had complained? "Well he certainly didn't share that information with me," she replied casually, again, there wasn't much she could do if people didn't tell her these things. But with regard to what Kevin had said the previous year... pfft. "And you believe him?" she questioned. "I told my Professors the same thing when I was a student, and I guarantee that my mother most certainly did care about holding me accountable for my wrong doing." The lesson to be learned there was not to believe things purely because they sounded fair enough. "At any rate, notify the parents, at least that way you'll have a record of having tried should they want to hold you accountable for their sons progress... and if it's playing nice with others that you're having trouble with, perhaps isolate him in your class." Problem solved, no? "Or invest in unbreakable bottles..." that was another idea.

Cosgrach looked at Cris in confusion. The goods of elves were long forgotten. What he didn't understand was...
"But then he has to take every kind of health potions, not just vaxifloo, because flu isn't the only illness?" Cris... knew that, right? "I mean, fine, I don't mind if you brew vaxifloo, but to me it sounds like a waste of resources and energy, whereas your friend needs an immune potion or something." He didn't know if such a one existed. But that was irrelevant. Kind of.

This Slytherin knew better. He wasn't risking anything for the sake of equality or whatever. He didn't say anything else, but he was glad Seren didn't insist.
...was she... questioning Cosgrach's statement? Didn't believe he was telling the truth? Or that he exaggerated it?
Well, then.
"Thank you for your opinion, Seren," he said as politely as ever, nothing in his demeanour would suggest he was slightly annoyed. "I will write to his parents and will see what else I can do during class." He took a sip from his tea. "You said you wanted to speak to me about Kevin, as well?"
