Ab was glad she didn't share a school with him, her grandfather, simply for how much she invested her time in talking. "I can't possibly tell you about them all." He laughed and shook his head, "There's too many of them, and they're too young to accurately determine how they are yet." He paused thoughtfully. "Although, Hasaan, my eldest grandson, is well grown up. He likes Quidditch. Too much, I think." And girls. He liked Quidditch and girls, but the professor wasn't going to violate Ethan's innocence by voicing that out loud. "He does not like runes, though. None of my kids did, either." He laughed, a little bitterly at that.
As Mordaunt kept on telling him about his cousin, the soon-to-be dragonologist, and the proud twinkling in his eyes didn't go unnoticed. Botros knew very well how that felt. "That's very interesting, he sounds like an ambitious boy." Maybe it ran in the family? Yes, he could see it.
Only when he was really, really tired? "It's not alarming, then." Ab had heard of such habits, it came down to one's personalities. And sometimes, very rare but he saw it happen, it was an indication of a buried special talent of the sleep-walker, for example Seers. He didn't want to speak of any of that to the boy since he wasn't so sure and didn't want to concern the poor lad. "Why were you really, really tired today, then? Too much homework?" He smiled widely.
“I’ve never been to Egypt or Korea before.” He said as he looked at the ceiling dreamily. Botros doesn’t mind if he stays on the floor yeah? It was oddly comfortable by the way. His mind then imagined Botros’ family. He supposed he’s got one big clan back home, living a blissful life. Ethan could only hope that one day he’d see his own broken family to be happy, albeit being incomplete.
“I’d like to travel the world one day, sir. That’ll be awesome. Learning different cultures…discovering their FOOD. Ohhhhh boy.” He said as he wiggled his feet by just imagining it. Food makes him happy, hmmkay? Oh and he’s got a grandson who’s into Quidditch? Ethan bit his lip as he imagined the old man riding a broom. It’s not wrong at all, it’s just that…Botros looked too dignified to be riding a broom. Oh and…why does Hassan not like Runes? Ethan took note of the professor’s bitter laugh.
“Is that why you decided to teach us?” Because if his children and grandchildren are not interested, then it seems that teaching would be the next best thing.
Mordred as an ambitious boy?
“If declaring himself as THE Dragonlord, then I don’t know WHAT ambitious is.” Ethan smiled at the professor and nodded. His older cousin definitely got what it takes to be one, and he’s working ‘round the clock for the Russian Reserve, as well as balancing his University studies.
“I’d like to be the FIRST Detective Wizard, professor. That’ll be so cool!” Right?
“Hit Wizards are okay…and so is Magical Forensics, but a Detective?” Ethan wiggled his feet again in excitement imagining himself as one.
“How about you professor? What made you like Ancient Runes?”
Merlin, he’s asking too many questions, yeah? Well, this is typical of him when there’s an older person before him. The boy is fascinated with the knowledge they have from their years of experience and whatnot. But now, it was time for Botros to ask him a question. Homeworks?
“Yes, professor. Homework’s one. Plus revisions…” Ethan trailed off as Feo crawled on his face, and settled his belly over his eyes, making himself a sleep mask. The boy however didn’t react to it.
“…aaaaaaand some other stuff. I’m not getting enough sleep as of late because of those.” School is about to be over, which means he’ll be going home, which means there’s a huge chance he’d see his real dad again.
