If permitted to enter the highly exclusive and incredibly pink palace of Headmistress Anastasia Reina (née Bunbury) Truebridge, please take a moment to allow your eyes to adjust. The current occupant of the Head chambers has distinct fashion tastes unlike any of her predecessors. And yes, she does re-do her office every ~~three~~ few years.

The large, thick black desk, which is easily the largest item in the room, rests on a fairly new, geometrically patterned pink and black carpet. In front of the desk are two nearly new black and pink, modernly styled guest chairs; behind it is what can only be described as a veritable throne. This, obviously, is where the Headmistress sits when she is in the office. If you're here to speak with her, you might as well have a seat in one of the guest chairs. You aren't welcome elsewhere in this office.

As you take your seat and look around, you'll notice that the room is lush with healthy green plants in black pots; new black curtains which are usually pulled back from the spacious windows; books and magazines scattered on matching black wooden end tables; and lots and lots of framed personal photos. Most of the photo occupants (the ones that you can see, anyway) are the Headmistress' husband, a former professor himself, and a baby photo of her now six-year-old son, who is certain to grow up to be a genius. The largest photo, which sits facing the Headmistress' throne and the large window behind it, is of the three Truebridges from before they left Egypt.

The other frames on the walls of the room include portraits of former headmasters; a glass-encased man's cane; and a framed scrap of paper from one of Hogwarts' own student publications. In the back corner of the room, near the door that leads to the rest of the Headmistress' chambers, is a collection of very rare brooms locked up inside a black wood corner cabinet. In front of the cabinet sits a large pink wicker basket, usually containing a very pampered, very fat ginger cat. This is Gingersnapple.

Gingersnapple is most protective of his master's chambers, so if you truly wish to speak the Headmistress in her office, be aware that you are doing so at your own risk. Please note: This room is an animal-free zone... with the obvious exception of Gingersnapple.

OOC: You absolutely may not enter this office unless given the password or given IC/OOC access by the Headmistress. If you RP yourself here without following instructions, your post will be deleted.

Cat on her lap, book resting gently on the cat, Annie's chin was definitely touching her chest where she had dozed off while reading. All of a sudden, though, a silvery glowly thingy appeared and spoke to her in her dream-doze state.

Wait, this was no dream! "Students! Professors hurt!" Annie shook herself and clutched Gingersnapple to her chest, the book of course falling to the ground. "We have to go to the infirmary!" Yes, she was talking to her cat AND taking the fluffy, grumpy-from-being-woken-and-squished ginger kitty with her. The Headmistress slid her feet into a pair of pink heels and trotted out of the office in a blur.

Alright, time to get to the bottom of this. Anastasia had a tray with warm tea, fresh-out-of-the-oven scones, biscuits, teacups, and all the other necessary fixings all ready on her desk. Thank you, House Elves. She also had her charmed, self-inking quill and a long scroll of parchment ready for ideas. If all the owls had left Hogwarts, they were going to need to solve this thing themselves.

So, now for her helpers to arrive. Annie took a seat behind her desk, prim and ready for her guests.

Her tower was freezing, but she was getting by with coming to the lower floors as much as possible. So when she received word that the headmistress had wanted her to come to her office the thirty three year old made her way down to the second floor. She hadn't been getting the headaches nearly as often, but she assumed everything that had been living around the castle would have run away by now. She hoped at least they had been able to run away to a warmer place.

Saying the password she made her way into the office. "Knock knock" She said as cheery as she could under the circumstances of the meetings. Giving the headmistress a little wave of her fingers. She just loved this office, the colors made her feel better already.

When Javy had returned to his office in the day he had discovered a note. It wasn't an ordinary note, nope. Given the sparkily pink colour and fresh fertilizer scent to it, he knew it had to be from his former Professor before he read it. She had needed to see him and it was urgent. So with that he walked back out of his temporarily office with a better jacket to start heading towards hers.

There were a number of reasons on why he had to be summoned there, one of which he hoped would remain private, yes. But given the increasing cold and his thoughts were thinking back to the outdoors situation with even the owls leaving. Could it be related to that? If not then well, he could find a way to casually bring it up.

Heading to the floor below his current residence, he went towards the statue. Giving the password before stepping in to her office. Unlike the Star man's seating area this pink coloured office was more tolerable. And there was Annie, waiting and Cassie too. "Hello, Annie.. Cassie." Smiling a little at them. On the desk there looked to be quite a display of food.. were they expecting even more? Hm.

Piers was only in his office for a moment before he had to be off again. His class just ended when he saw the note on his desk. So he just put his scarf back on and made his way over to the Headmistress' office. After stating the password, he entered, while peeking his eyes around the door.

"Afternoon," he said with a nod, closing the door behind him. He took his place beside Javy comfortably and eyed the sweets on Annie's desk. He was tempted to eat a scone, but he wasn't sure who made them. Since Cassie was there, it was a possibility that SHE had made them... and if that was the case, he was going to let someone else try them first.

By the way, he was COLD. This meeting better had have to do something about THAT, please.

Cosgrach barely left his office these days, so he had seen the note right away. It was the motivation part that was hard - he was too grumpy, angry and discouraged to move at all. What made him come, still on time as he saw it now, was that it was Annie, and he knew this was about the undeniable cold that wasn't a natural occurrance anymore. As he stepped inside, he barely looked around, grunted instead of actually saying 'hi', grabbed a handful of biscuits and sat down at an empty chair while he ate grumpily.

"Hello Javy, Cassie," Anastasia nodded at the two right-on-time arrivals. "We're just waiting for..." Aha, there they were. Piersie and Cossy. Perfect. The Headmistress clasped her hands together and extended a warm smile to all of them, even grumpy Cosgrach.

"Please, help yourselves to some tea and refreshments. The house elves baked them under my supervision, so they should be great." In other words, she'd sat there and read last month's Witch Weekly (having no post sucked) while the elves scurried around and refilled her cup of cocoa. Speaking of cocoa though, it was cold enough to actually need some.... in March!

She waited a moment for the folks to settle in. "Now, I brought you all here because we have an OBVIOUS problem on our hands. It's now springtime, or so my calendar says, but here WE are at Hogwarts, stuck in an eternal winter!" The redhead took a sip of her own tea and shook her head. "We obviously need to do something about it. I brought each of you here because I think you have different information about what's been going on and I want us all to do something about it. So, Cassie, why don't you go first?" Tell them about the animals.

Her green eyes looked up to see Javy and she smiled at the man. Giving him a quick wave and then to Piers who of course sat near Javy. He got an eye and a nod, but the one that took her the most bad was Cosgrach. He seemed so upset. "Are you alright?" She said without mean to just blurt it out. The blonde hated seeing people mad or sad and this man seemed a bit of both.

Though not the time to discuss as her eyes went back to the Headmistress. The food was for them, this was going to take awhile, possibly? She raised just enough to get herself some tea and then sat crossing her legs again. As she blew on her tea a bit she was thankful that she wasn't drinking it, because she might have chocked on hearing she was going first.

Looking around the room she wasn't sure exactly what she was suppose to be saying. "I'm not really sure why we are in this horrible winter, but I can tell you that something scared all the creatures around the castle. I was getting horrible headaches and seeing visions of them scared and running out of the forest, which you all know about, because of all the ones that fled." There really wasn't any animal left that she could sense and for the most part her head had gotten quiet without all the chatter around.

"If whatever they were so afraid of is the cause of this weather then my guess is it's still out there." On the rare occasion Cassie would frown and at this moment she was. Looking more towards Piers she couldn't really make eye contact with him, "I'm not sure what happened in the forest with all of you were attacked, but I.. I don't understand why I didn't see a vision of a possibility of it happening or sense the danger in it. I've always been able to sense animals and their actions, I've had many since coming here with all the ones running for warmer and safer places. I just don't understand why not that one. I'm very sorry." She glanced at Javy apologetically as well before sipping at her tea a little lost in her own thoughts.

Right, right, something has scared all the creatures around the castle. Anastasia nodded encouragingly and kept an eye on the quill scribbling away. She didn't usually buy into Divination of any kind, but Cassie... 1) had great fashion sense, and 2) was talking about something Annie had seen with her own two eyes. She had SPOKEN to that centaur group leaving the forest. So something was definitely up with the animals.

The redhead also glanced at Javy. "Javy... and Piers... as a follow-up to that, and since you two have a connection to the attack in the forest... what do you think has been scaring the animals away? Is it really just a 'bad winter' or is there a big bad yeti out there, for example?" Yetis didn't really attack people nor live in Scotland, though. "Any theories?"

Ah, yes, the attack. He supposed that was a good thing to discuss. He slightly zoned out a bit when Cassie spoke. Why was she here again? All he got out of that was that her sparkly divination powers didn't work and that wasn't helpful.

Oh, he was being mean again. Piers sat up straighter and unscrunched his face. Hopefully she couldn't read minds.

"Well," he began when the Headmistress asked him and Javy to add input. "As for what attacked us, I have no idea. But the acromantulas where quite disturbed with our presence. Not that that's unusual, but they had mentioned that we weren't the first ones, that... a lady with a strange accent had been going in there and doing things." His memory wasn't sharp, but that's what he remembered.

He sighed. "We have students from all over, it could have been anyone... But I highly doubt a student would have been able to stay out there and cause trouble without us noticing." Not that he wanted to accuse anyone on staff.... much.

So they were indeed now going to discuss about the attack and the strange occurances with the weather. Javy had been listening to Cassie's story. Under regular circumstances he would've found her apologetic state confusing since there was only so much one can do on just seeing things. But given how close they had been he nodded towards her in understanding. Now Annie wanted to hear from him and Piers. A good call, since they both had been discussing it heavily behind closed doors.

Javy glanced at Piers, since he had actually been out there he could begin with explaining what went on. Only interjecting when appropriate. "Right.. from what we've gone over there's not that many magical creatures are able to finish off an Acromantula enough to also affect one of us as well." Now the theories, "Now for an Acromantula to actually fear this creature.. well, it couldn't be a Basilisk since this is outside of their climate and no one would've been able to escape the forest if it were the case.. So adding onto the effects of the everlasting weather that hadn't left us.. It mimicks the signs of Chorts." Also given how Leo and the younger Gryffindor student were attacked by one. "They have been known to only bring destruction, the frosty conditions and casualties.." Sound familiar? "What also seems to further prove it is how there have been some recent sightings on them as they had been migrating from eastern Russia. It is too much of a coincidence for this constant cold to still be here without the thought of them."

Now as for the mystery forest dweller. "We do not have much to represent who had been out there in the first place, other than the 'strange' accent. I'd also have to side with it not being a student.. Which would leave us staff.." Goodness, did he have to be the one to make the accusation? "A lady with a 'strange' accent.. doesn't leave us with much choice on who it is, does it?"

The scrunchy face did not go unnoticed, she wondered if Piersy needed her to slow down or use different words. Just as she was about to ask she heard the Headmistress start to speak. Her green eyes fell back to the red head. She really hated not having more information for the group.

Listening to Piers she couldn't imagine the thing in the forest not being a creature, so why couldn't she have sensed this. Then Leo and Bay wouldn't have been harmed. Feeling confused and a bit guilty she stayed quiet and just listened.

It wasn't until Javy spoke that her green eyes snapped up to what he was saying, "No, Chorts wouldn't be this close to the school, would they?" They had to be a mistake, though her mind was going. "Wait! They aren't really creatures, yes? They are more demon like?" Was her memory correct on this? If it was that might be why she hadn't sensed anything. So she wasn't failing at her talents.

She looked confused at both of them, a lady with an accent, "Well Medea has an accent, but seriously she wouldn't do anything to harm the school. At least I would never think so." Would she?

It was weird of Cosgrach to stay silent for such a long time, but during times like these, he was a complete Slytherin: he didn't know almost anything about this situation, he hadn't been in the forest, he had been too busy focusing on his own sorrow too much to really theorise... so he nodded here and there, but didn't speak once until he had more information. This chort idea, though, it was unsettling.

He was fighting no strange accent woman unless he absolutely had to.

One of the perks of being a professor, or in Cece's case a healer, was getting to know the password to the headmistress' office. Especially at a time like this when Cece needed to talk to the woman and didn't want to wait. So here she was entering the woman's office only to find it filled with a few professors.

"Excuse me. I don't mean to interrupt whatever you have going on here," she said to everyone but looking at the headmistress. "I just thought you would like to know that Victor is awake now." Leo on the other hand. Still sound asleep.

"Lady with a strange accent?" Anastasia had repeated when Piers first said it. Now who could that be? Her suspicious mind immediately discounted Medea as a possibility and instead jumped straight to Lolita Domingo, that spicy and sassy outsider.

She was still mulling over the possibilities that Domingo had been the one to attack the group in the forest when Javy spoke up with another idea. "Hold on," she inserted, "what do we even know about chorts?" That they were demons? The additional arrival of Cece made her all the more eager to learn about them. "Cece, do you know anything about chorts? Javy suspects that they might have been what attacked and poisoned Leo and Victor..."

And yes, she was glad to know he was awake now. The Headmistress gestured for Cece to have a seat and join them. "We're trying to come up with a plan of action to get out of this winter," she explained to include the Healer. "We think chorts have brought on the cold spell, scared the regular forest creatures away, and attacked the students out there. What we don't know is what a woman with an accent was doing outside at night, or who she is."

Good summary, so far? She glanced at her notes. "Does anyone else suspect that Lolita Domingo could have something to do with this?" And it wasn't JUST because Annie disliked her that she suspected her... "I think we should seriously consider the possibility that SHE might be behind all this." Because why not assume that that woman was guilty?

After she had spoke, Cassie listened to everyone else. Her eyes moving to the door when Cece entered the room. "Oh goodness that is ah-mazing! I just knew you would help them." She gave the healer snaps of excitement that Victor was awake, but she really hoped Leo would be soon. "Is Leo?" She asked a little bit worried that she didn't say his name.

Turning her attention back to the Headmistress she tilted her head at the questioning the Chorts, she had just mentioned them being demons, but maybe she meant something else. She'd let Javy speak if he wanted, he seemed to know more about the subject.

Her eyes widened as she heard the Arithmancy professors name. "Are you sure we should jump to conclusions like that?" She was not one to ever accuse anyone and always wanted to see the good. "She works with these students and Leo everyday, do you really think she'd be here to harm?" Goodness Cassie would hope not, but if the others thought so. No she couldn't think that ill of someone, but what if it was true.

Cosgrach listened in complete silence and full attention again. So... Lolita was the foe? The beautiful Latina? You always had to fear the beautiful. They were something else. He didn't think of chorts too much; his main focus was to get out of this castle safe. He would think about chorts later. Right now, if Lolita was the guilty one, he would discuss only her.

"I think we should either get her or Ministry's approval to use Veritaserum. Quick and efficient." They didn't need an approval to slip it, of course, but he wouldn't do that. He loved freedom too much, thank you.

Oh, okay. Well Cece wasn't planning on staying for a meeting. She had only come here to let the headmistress know what was going on in person. She really did need to get back to the infirmary soon. She didn't like being gone from there long when she had patients there. It didn't look like she was getting out of there any time soon though since she was being asked questions and basically being asked to join the meeting.

"I'm sorry to say, but Mr. Kitridge is still unconscious," she said to everyone while looking at Cassie as she sat in the seat the headmistress gestured to. She then had to think a moment about the question that was asked of her. "I can't say that I know a whole lot about chorts other than Medea taught about them last term. I've never really studied them though because there have never been any sightings of them around this area." But listening to all the talk going on, it seems as if Cece might have been wrong and she should have probably taken interest in that lesson last term.

Wait.

One of their very own professors was being accused of having something to do with these attacks? Cece really didn't know the woman, but really? Attacking students? "Other than her having a strange accent, what makes everyone think it is Lolita doing this? I mean come on, do you all seriously think Josephina would bring in someone that would want to hurt others?" Cece was in no way close with that Hadley, but she never thought she would do anything that would hurt the students or staff.

Really Culloden? Veritaserum? "Before we go as far as using a serum on the woman, has anyone bothered asking her about any of this? I mean we don't even know that she was the one out in that forest. We don't even know that it was anyone from the school out there." Just because a woman had an accent was no reason to accuse her. If that was the case then maybe they shuold be accusing Medea as well. After all, she was the one that taught about chorts last term. Maybe she was the one that brought them here.

Chorts? Piers hardly knew anything about them, but he had heard of them before. Creatures was not his forte. But it sounded bad. His head turned when Cece entered the room and he was immediately worried again about the state of his friend in the hospital wing. Cassie asked before he could, though and.... sigh. Leo was still unconscious. Piers would ask about his health later, but for now they needed to come to a decision.

And, of course, Cece disagreed with the good idea Cosgrach had. "What do you suppose we ask, her Cece? 'Oi, Lolita, do you by chance have a pack of wild beasts in the forest that are trying to kill us?' I don't really think she would say yes." He thought Cece was a Slytherin, not a damn Badger.

"If you're worried about hurting her feelings, you can try the serum on all of us," he said with a look towards Annie. "But I say we start with her." He KNEW something was off with her. Lolita Doloco.

"Chorts are beasts in their own regard. But given their unpredictably with how quick they appear and reappear at a moments notice.. " He paused as Cece had entered in with some news. Victor was awake, but Leo.. His eyebrows hinted at morphing together out of concern. The illness he was under she was likely aware of, just waiting on the treatment results. But for the others in the room who didn't know the damage they were capable of invoking, "Other than the extreme cold weather, their horns and bites are filled with venom that travels through the bones of their victims until their death." So the matter was too serious to wait around on. "Hogwarts is a little off from their last migrating sighting so they've likely had some influence to drift from their direction to here."

So yeah, that left Medea and Lolita as fitting the description on the ladies with the 'strange accent'. Javy couldn't quite imagine Medea doing it from the past two years he had known her, but well, "I would think Medea would've brought them over sooner if she had a motive for doing so." She did start teaching here before him after all.

Listening to everyone go over debating whether or not Lolita did it and why. But to prove it.. His hand went over Piers' before another shouting match from him and Cece could continue. Perhaps we ought to explore another way to find out and prove that Lolita is it," Something less callous and more legal, yes? "Considering Lolita just started her term here, I think she is entitled to have some observing on her actions and time spent here to see how she's fitting in." Was either of them getting it? He looked mainly at Annie with this suggestion. "It would be more easier to prove her innocence or guilt if she is unaware of it."

Veritaserum, yes, excellent suggestion, Cosgrach. Anastasia heartily approved of it, and nodded slowly in his direction. If only Cece hadn't entered shortly before he made that suggestion.... dammit, of course she would object.

The redhead's eyes flicked instead toward the clever pair of Piers and Javy. She raised an eyebrow at Piers and then smiled, because she caught Javy's drift. "I think I agree. Let's not waste any more time now that we think we have a lead." And a motive. "Cassie, Cece, thank you for your input. But don't feel obligated to hang around here more. I think we have all the information we need, ladies. I am glad Victor is awake. Keep me updated on Leo's status, Cece." But in other words, they were dismissed.

"Cosgrach, Javy... Piers.... I'd like you to stay after for a moment, please?" So they could set up a spy team to spy on Lolita WITHOUT being judged by Cece as she always did.

Cassie was just listening to everyone since it seems her thoughts were just thoughts when her green eyes moved to the headmistress. Oh she was done, alright. She had found it rather odd that she was part of this little meeting anyway, since she hadn't been there for the club meetings or the forest, but she was just hoping to help.

"Well I hope that something I said helped, though I'm not sure it did." Since she really couldn't sense anything that happened with the attack. Getting up from her chair she flattened her dress and gave the others in the room a beaming smile. "Good luck with whatever you are thinking." Though she still wasn't sure they should jump to accuse.

Turning towards Cece she nodded, "Thank you for the wonderful news. I may come by to visit Leo later if that's alright." She had been trying to keep up with the library duties with Nessa while he was unavailable she just so hoped he'd be alright soon.

Giving a last nod towards everyone she made her way out of the office.

Cosgrach turned icy brown eyes to Cece. He wanted to point out if Lolita was innocent, she would not have any objections to it. He usually failed to grasp which side Cece was on, and he doubted her 'Slytherin' part. His eyes were friendly on Piers, though, but Javy... disappointed him too. Hmm. Was he suggesting... spying on her? He nodded at Annie, and remained seated. He'd spoken his idea already anyway, and he didn't have anything to add to chorts, other than taking a mental note to study them better on his own.

Assuming Annie was going to ask them to spy on her, did this also include going near the chorts?
