Muggle Studies Lesson One {Cooking/Baking Theory} { Muggle Studies Lesson One } The room was arranged in ordinary classroom fashion, considering Fina thought no reason to arrange any differently since they wouldn't be here very long. It was just easier to gather everyone together in the classroom first. The brunette was dressed rather plainly, opting for flats rather than the usual heels, as she awaited by the doorway with a cup of markers and nametags, smiling warmly when you enter. "Don't get too comfortable, but everyone have a seat and as this is our first class together for some of you, please write your name and year on the name tag and stick it on your robes." She instructed, handing everyone a blank tag when they entered. Reminders: Please be sure you've read the rules prior to posting. No excuses! Lesson Progression

Jasmine found the Muggle Studies classroom and was surprised to find that she was the first student to arrive. Seeing the Professor standing at the door, Jasmine introduced herself. "Hello Professor, my name is Jasmine Guidry. I transferred to Hogwarts this term. It's nice to meet you." Taking a nametag and a marker from the Professor's cup, she wrote down her information and stuck the sticker onto her robes. Quote:

Even though they'd had their disagreement the last time Layla had attended a Muggle Studies lesson, she thought that Professor Hadley was a good duck. So, she was perfectly fine with entering the class, especially since it wasn't outside in the cold. And yes, she may have even been smiling. But what were they going to be doing today that wouldn't have them in the classroom? They'd still be in the castle, right? Because she didn't think she could stand being outside. Anyway, she took one of the name tags and a marker with a "Hello, professor," and hurriedly took a seat, filling out the tag. Text Cut: tag |
Zander walked into the classroom with a smile plastered onto his face. Finally, a class he could actually do well in. If he even so had to make another potion again, he'd probably combust. So muggle studies was definitely a relief. The third year noticed his Professor as he walked through and he widened his smile even further. Hopefully he wasn't looking like a total creep by now. Most people dread coming to muggle studies, but nope not Zander! This was probably the easiest class to actually follow. "Hi Professor! How are you doing?" he asked her as he grabbed one of the markers and a tag. He kneeled next to the doorway, but far enough to the side so that the doorway wasn't blocked. Writing his name as carefully as he could, he got back onto his feet and stuck the tag on his black robes. He even drew a deliberate little lion in the corner. Rawr. Quote:
|
It was his first time setting foot inside the Muggle Studies classroom, but Cutty was trying not to make that obvious as he entered by retaining his eyeballs and keeping them focused only on what mattered; The Professor and the seating arrangement. "It's nice to meet you, Professor Hadley." That was her name, wasn't it? Of all of the teachers presently teaching at Hogwarts, the Muggle Studies one seemed the hardest to run into. Maybe that was a good sign. Or maybe she was squib. Did they let squibs teach at Hogwarts? He took a marker and a name tag introducing himself as he wrote down his name and year. "I'm..." Quote:
|
Lucy walked into the Muggle Studies classroom She said:"Goodmorning, Professor Hadley! I'm Lucy Petersfield; it's my first year here at Hogwarts"..She she found a free seat and she took one of the markers and a tag.. Quote:
|
Angel walked into the classroom. "Good morning." Angel beamed as she thought about what they might do in this class, being a muggle she probably didn't need to come to this but it would be great to see what the magical people thought of them. Angel went over and sat down and then saw a name tag, what was going on here were the back at Primary School well Angel thought that it would be cool to wear the name tag so she put it on. Quote:
|
Even though Professor Hadley had given him and Z detention last year, Michael still liked this class. "Good day Professor." He flashed the woman a smile as he picked up a tag. He doubted that she would forget his name but he was happy to amuse her by wearing a name tag. "I promise you have my full attention this term." Quote:
|
Muggle Studies! This was one class that AJ was likely not to struggle in given her background. As the first year walked into the classroom her eyes immediately fell on the professor. "Hello professor." She saw the name tag and thought that it would be funny if her and Angel used each other's names. Her eyes scanned the room and saw that Angel was already there. Bummer. Her sister most likely wouldn't have been down for it anyways. Grabbing a marker and tag, she hastily scribbled down the needed information. Deciding that she would sit next to her sister this time, AJ plopped down at a desk closest to her. Quote:
|
One of the subjects he was good at, for obvious reasons. Adi happily entered the Muggle Studies classroom but not before greeting his awesome Head of House. "Hello, Professor Hadley,'' he said and smiled at her. He collected the blank tag and marker. "Hey, AJ,'' the third year said as he slipped into the seat beside his friend. He quickly filled out the necessary information on the tag: Quote:
|
Soooooooo Muggle Studies eh? The subject didn't particularly interest him that much. He'd grown up around Muggles, even if said Muggles happened to be stupid Billy down the road whom he'd, luckily, only known for less than a year. What exactly was there to know more about? But, having heard quite a bit about this woman here, he was quite interested to come here and see what she was like as a Professor. Juuuuuuust because. So, the fourth year made his way down the first floor corridor and over towards the Muggle Studies classroom, where the woman was standing by the door. Uh huh. Was this a normal thing over at this school? Probably. He couldn't tell just yet. "Hello Professor," he said, once he reached the door of the classroo-- ....................... They had to wear NAME TAGS?! Name tags on their ROBES?! What in the name of merlin? Er. This was weird. MERLIN. Grayson grabbed a name tag and took a blue marker, giving the woman a nod as a way of saying thanks. He then headed over towards an empty seat near Cutty and gave him a nod and a "Hey!" in greeting before sitting down. Right. Lets fill out this bad boy. Quote:
This was still freaking weird. |
Bay was getting excited for muggle studies, he knew he would always count on having fun in this class. As soon as he came in he spotted the professor handing out name tags "good morning professor and thanks " as he took one and wrote his name on it. Quote:
|
Norah wasn't sure what to expect as she reached the Muggle Studies classroom. She knew a good amount about muggles, or at least thought she did, considering her mum was muggle born and she spent a good amount of time with her muggle grandparents in France. When she reached the door she was delighted to see the professor holding a cup of markers. Were they going to COLOR? YAY! Accepting a name tag excitedly, she bid the professor a quick "Hello!" before bouncing over to a desk to decorate her tag. Quote:
|
Muggle studies wasn't his strongest subject, but he wasn't bad at it either. So with a neutral feeling, the second year Gryffindor made his way to the classroom and when he saw the Professor at the door, he nodded at her. Grabbing one of the nametags and a marker, the boy entered the room completely and found a seat near the middle Placing his school bag down on the ground beside his chair, Kevin began to write his name on the label. Quote:
|
Muggle Studies. So WHY did they have to study the Muggles again? Meh. It wasn't like Sophie felt like denying her magic and running to live amongst the Muggles anytime soon. Oh, well. This class also seemed to be an easy O grade at the same time, so she'd deal with it. Don't get too comfortable? Ohh--did that mean class was going to end early?! WOOT! Sophie took a seat and filled out her name tag. Quote:
She peeled it off the backing and stuck it to her robes. |
For no reason in particular, there was a bounce to Schuyler's step as she approached the Muggle Studies classroom. She held her books against her chest as she slipped past the threshold and collected a blank nametag. "Hello, Professor," she smiled. Don't get too comfortable? Okay, so they were leaving soon. Schuyler interpreted this as a good thing because when they left the classroom, they did fun things like play bumper car games. So, she ran her hand back through her hair and crossed her legs as she claimed a seat. Now, nametag. Quote:
|
Quote:
"This is one subject I'm sure to be good at!" she leaned in to whisper to her hufflepuff friend. Bring it on muggle studies. |
Benny was still not a happy lion. Granted the potion had worn off but the aftermath was in full swing. The feelings of hurt and anger at Adi was one and embarishment over who had heard him was another. Silently making his way to the muggle studies classroom, he stepped inside listening to the instructions given. "Hello Professor," he greeted the woman out of politeness and with an afterthought added quietly. "Welcome back." She had been missing at the opening feast so now was the first time he had seen her. Though he might be seeing her later about a certain Hufflepuff of hers. He took an offered name tag and wrote it out, adding it to his robe as he moved to take a seat however temporary. Quote:
|
Toby wasn't technically muggle born, but he had grown up muggle. You'd have thought that would have been enough reason to not take this subject, but Toby was taking the full set, Muggle Studies included. In any case, it was fun, more challenging than he'd been expecting, AND was a useful qualification to have, right? Right. So here he was, smiling and looking a little more distracted than usual, but otherwise perfectly present and correct. "Hi Professor Hadley!" the Hufflepuff beamed at his Head of House as he entered the room. "S'good to see you back." Toby took the nametag from her and went to go claim a seat by the window. He quickly wrote Toby, Fourth Year on his tag and stuck it to his chest, just above the Hufflepuff logo on his robes. |
*crashes with Grayson and Cutty* Muggle Studies. This was a start wasn't it? To attending classes that was, because Abbi didn't exactly enjoy participating in that part of Hogwarts. Her marks weren't too bad, but they could have been much better if she tried harder. That was the thing she wasn't silly, just had other priorities. That's how she saw it anyways. As she entered the class, Abbi nodded towards the Professor. "Hello, Professor." Beam. She then took her name tag and marker as she skimmed for a place to sit. OHHH. Would you look who was here? Why Hello Grayson Potato...and Cutty too. Cutty got beams, but Grayson...he got sassy eyes. The third year plonked straight beside Grayson and quickly waved towards Cutty. Hehehehehehehe. She grabbed her marker and in BIG BOLD letters scribbled the word 'LOSER'. Then with a pat on Grayson's back she stuck the tag to his back, all sneakily of course. "Hello, Grayson." INNOCENT smile. "I think you spelled your name wrong in that tag." But the back tag was spelled PERFECTLY. Such a pity she'd 'lost' her tag so soon, or was it? Hehehehehehehe |
Muggle Studies was a class that Lux was looking forward to even if the last lesson had freaked her out with the whole coffin thing. Smiling, she said, "hello, Professor Hadley," before taking a name tag. Even though she was surprised if her Head of House didn't know who she was, she had no problem wearing one. Taking a seat beside Bay, she smiled at him. "Hey there!" Surely he was looking forward to this class like she was. Filling out the name tag, she stuck it to her robes. Quote:
|
Ugh, why did Caleb have to fill one out? Shouldn't Hadley know THE Caleb Newell at this point? He sort of understood why she wanted him to do that, though, especially since it seemed like there were a billion first years this term. "Hello Professor Hadley," he said with a soft smile as he sat down. He scribbled his name on his nametag and propped it up as instructed. Quote:
|
The seventeen year-old Hufflepuff stepped into his new Muggle Studies classroom feeling rather prepared. His mother was a Muggle-born and his father was a Pureblood, but taught Muggle Studies at Winchester. Other than his father, the only Pureblood in the family was Rorie and she was adopted. So, this probably won't be anything new to him. His life had been almost perfectly balanced with Muggle and Wizard things. Who knows, though. Hogwarts can probably bring something new. He took a label and scribbled down his name on it. Quote:
|
Mentions Jasmine, Bay, Lux and Adi As Cris made his way to the Muggle Studies classroom, he was actually surprised to find himself actually excited to be attending this lesson....not that he wasn't with the others. This one was special because this would be the first time, he would be meeting his Head of House. As he entered the classroom, he broke into a smile that stretched from ear to ear. There she was. Professor Hadley!!....and there was Jasmine too!! Walking over to the Professor, he greeted her with a smile. "Hello Professor. Congratulations on the newest addition to your family, and welcome back to Hogwarts. Sander also asked me to say hello for him too,"Cris told Professor Hadley before taking a marker and a name plate from her desk, and filling out his information. Quote:
Then he turned to wave at Adi who was sitting nearby. |
This class Marigold technically didn't need to take, because her mum was an actual flesh and bone muggle, but she liked it. It was comforting, PLUS good teacher, yup. "Hi, Professor!" she said enthusiastically, then made her way to a seat somewhat near her cousin. She waved at him. Then, she started writing her name on her name tag, embroidered with flowers and dots and lines and pretty stuff. Quote:
|
Sooooooo......Muggle Studies.....that class she'd managed to scrape an 'E' in by some great miracle after nearly burning the kitchen down. If someone had told her that cooking involved hard work and the possibility of a few fingers getting chopped off...she'd believe them but now she knew it also included too much salt and ovens that weren't meant to be opened simply with one's hands. In the end one thing was abundantly clear, she was not meant for the kitchen. Also, the Gryffindor was staring, in a similar fashion to the staring back in Diagon Alley when she saw the VERY PREGNANT PROFESSOR, who was not pregnant anymore..... "Hello Professor Hadley....................................how's the baby?" Was she allowed to ask? Did you have to be a Badger to know because she and Grayson had seen. Did the boy even remember? Lex grabbed a quill from her bag and got to the name plate, her attention split between writing and the Professor who'd never bothered to TELL her. Wasn't like she'd had plastered it all over the Aparecium. Who did that anyway? Quote:
|
They were meant to write down their name? Didn't Hadley know most of her students by now? The name tag thing only made sense to Tag if it were for lower years or transfer students, but a name tag? But anyway Tag took the little name tag, named after him of course, and wrote his name on it, and everything else that was required. SPOILER!!: Name tag And yes, Tag was being serious about the Mr. Unicorn thing. |
Muggle Studies didn't sound too hard. After all, she'd grown up around muggles. So Hayden wasn't worried at all for this class. In fact, she was pretty excited. An easy class seemed nice, and it was taught by the head of her house, who she had not had the chance to meet yet. So, yeah, she was pretty excited. "Hello Professor," Hayden said cheerfully when she walked into the room. She found an empty desk and sat down. Don't get too comfortable? Were they going somewhere? Hayden shrugged and grabbed a name tag and the pen she'd brought along. It was purple. Quote:
|
Adi grinned at AJ as he finished up his name tag. "I know. This was the only subject I was good at in my first year. Well, except Potions.'' But he knew his friend would eventually be good at others too. Like how he was good at Care of Magical Creatures now. The Hufflepuff brightened up a bit when he saw his best friend enter the class. Adi vaguely wondered if Benny was mad at him for slipping him the Babbling Beverage. He should know Adi just wanted him to talk more even if it were just madness. Anyway, he waved at the Lion. Another waving hand caught his attention at that moment. The hand belonged to Cris the sixth year. Adi waved back while mouthing, "Hey, Cris!'' |
Well, finally. Someone had taken a very long break, eh? Yes, Lotus knew why, but it was still a long break. Being left at the mercy of Orsino was NOT the greatest idea, though. That made her wonder about Hadley's sanity. Either way, she still came and greeted Hadley with a smile, "Hello, Professor. Welcome back." That 'Welcome back' sounded as if they were receiving the woman from the Janus Thickey ward at St. Mungo's. To not get comfortable? Then why was Lotus here? And where were they going? Interesting. Did she need to write her name as well? Well, whatever. Fine. Quote:
Also, LOL! Tag's... tag. .....Wow, did she just realize that? |
Muggles Studies wasn't her favorite thing in the world. She didn't like the lack of magic, but the Slytherin comforted herself by thinking of things that she likes less than this subject. Then she imagined thumping said things. Right on the face. It made her feel better. She did, though, respect the Muggle Studies professor for that kind act from last term, so instead of putting up a sour front, she was pretty neutral. It was only when she reached the professor at the door that she grinned timidly. "Hello, Professor Hadley," greeted, taking a name tag and marker, ogling them as she went inside. It'd better not ruin her robes. Writing her name and year on it, she stuck the tag onto her robes. Quote:
|
Demelza did not understand why they had to wear their uniforms to Muggle Studies. Wouldn't it make more sense to go to class dressed like Muggles? Monkey see, monkey do? This had always puzzled her since she started going to Hogwarts. Back at the Academy, dressing as a Muggle was an important aspect of the class. Plus Demelza had some radtastic Muggle outfits that she would be more than willing to show off. But there she was walking through the doorway, clad in her boring and uninspiring uniform. "Welcome back, Professor Hadley!" the young actress-to-be said enthusiastically, in spite of her outfit. A blank name tag was then handed over to her. At first Demelza was confused. Surely Hadley hadn't forgotten her name, even though she had only been at Hogwarts for a term. But then she heard the professor say that there were some newbies in the class. Well, that made sense. So the seventh year took a marker from the cup and wrote down her name ... and year. This was her last first Muggle Studies class ever. Oh, the sadness! Photos!: Demelza's name tag |
What exactly was Muggle Studies? Kate wasn't really sure, but she hoped it was useful. Probably it would help her understand how wizards viewed Muggles, yes? Kate figured that the way wizards viewed Muggles and Muggle things was different from how Muggles viewed themselves. After all, fish don't think breathing water is weird. Oh, name tags! Kate happily took a name tag as she entered the classroom and, after sitting down, wrote her name and year on it before sticking it on the right-hand side of her robes. Quote:
|
Sophie wasn't thrilled about finally taking Muggle Studies. She just didn't care all that much, and Ira Banner hadn't listed it as one of the many subjects she really needed to be good at to be a Wandmaker, for obvious reasons. So... why was Sophie there? She wasn't entirely sure. Regardless, there she was, saluting the professor and accepting a name tag as she entered. "Hi professor." Interesting way to learn names, she thought, but it was much more suitable than the woman having to hear dozens of new students chime their names over the span of a few minutes. Of course there was no way the professor could retain that information, right? She obediently scribbled her information down on the name tag with a marker and stuck it on her chest. Text Cut: Name tag Easy enough. New class, new seating opportunities... hmm. There was a Tobes present, so naturally, Soph hurried over to snag the seat right behind him by the windows and nudged him gently to give him a 'sup' nod. Hehe. Hi, Tobes. |
"Hi professor." Hadley was right at the doorway so the greeting came immediately while entering instead of after. Penelope accepted a name tag and marker and sat down at a desk to write her name down since apparently they weren't staying here. She did notice Tag's "name" tag too and briefly considered also using some sort of nickname just for the fun of it, but she was too tired to think of anything particularly creative. So her actual name it was. Quote:
|
Well, Ascanius was READY, yeah? Before class he had really pumped himself up to deal with Muggle Studies and now he was more then ready to sit through a long-winded class about stuff that he had grown up with. 'Cause muggles and whatever. Or, y'know, just non-magical people. He never did understand the term muggle. Always tasted lesser in his mouth, which they weren't. But, whatever, he was ready. Also, didn't hurt that Hadley was fit. Real fit. Nice to look at. Anyway. He smiled all hazy-like-- 'cause he was ready-- and easily complimented Hadley, "Hello Professor. You look lovely." And she did. Ah. Seat. He took one of those. Not before jotting down his name real quick. Quote:
|
"Hullo Professor Hadley!" Kyroh greeted with a wave as he walked into the class. WAVE. HI. Yeah. He had actually remembered this Professors name. Cause his papa had told him everything. ...And maybe also because he asked an older kid. He hopped that Muggle Studies would be easy considering the fact that he knew Muggle stuff. So...easy right? Taking a seat somewhere at the front the Ravenclaw very carefully and neatly wrote out his name. Name tags were AWESOME. Quote:
|
One thing that can make a class seem awesome before it starts is name tags. They are awesome. Nothing more, nothing less. All the possibilities you can write on them and never write your real name. Likes Tag's name tag. There was a great one, Mr. Unicorn. Even Lotus' one. Which he hates to admit. There was Hadley. Weird that this would be the last term seeing her. Very Weird. Pretty vague instructions. So they would be moving after the get seated. Interesting. Quote:
|
Feels Demelza Eyes xD Cris was catching up on his textbook reading when he felt like someone was watching him. Okay well there were lots of students in the classroom, so there was a possibility that someone would be glancing in his direction but all the same, he looked up from his book and first looked to his left and then to his right. Nope no one specifically. Then he turned around to the back of him and was surprised to see Demelza sitting behind him. He smiled and waved at her before turning back to his book. Nah!...it couldn't be her. It had to be his imagination. |
Kace finally made it Muggle Studies. He didn't mind this class at all. He loved learning concepts from a wizards perspective. As he made his way to the classroom, he noticed he wasn't the only one there. Other's made it here before him. He smiled and then he saw the professor or rather his head of house. He nodded and said, "Hello Professor Hadley, Welcome back!" He smiled warmly and returned to his seat. Once he got to his own seat as he put his bag down, he noticed there was a name tag. He was sure the Professor knew his name but he shrugged and did what he was told. He got out his quill and wrote.... Quote:
|
Catching up......Cris SPOILER!!: Cris Jasmine was waiting for class to begin when she heard a familiar voice. Looking up and seeing Cris made her smile. "Of course you can join us. Grab a seat. Jasmine just might have a bit of a hard time focusing on class today, but she was not particularly sad about that. |
*whistles* As more people streamed into the classroom, Lux sent them smiles and waves. She was totally excited for this lesson even though it was a little confusing as to why she needed a name tag when she was a Badger. Had Professor Hadley heard about her status as Honorary Lion? Lux hoped not, and that if she had that the woman wasn't upset about it. Lion status aside, she did feel love for Hufflepuff too! Seeing that Kace had put 'Penguin' on his name tag made her happy because that was the name that she had a few of her other friends had given him. It also gave her an idea to make a few adjustments to her own: Quote:
|
Muggle Studies. She was looking forward fo this lesson. She did grow up in the muggle neighborhood after all so this lesson was definitely her cup of tea. Beside Willy also said that his Head of House was really awesome. "Hello Professor." She greeted and took a name tag before she took one of the empty seat. Quote:
|
and Angel Professor Hadley was back! Running up the stairs to the muggle studies classroom, Leah stopped at the corridor and slowed down, patting down her hair. Then she saw her at the doorway. "Professor Hadley!" she yelled, hugging her head of house around the middle. "It's so good to see you again." the second year grinned. Taking the name tag and a marker, she wrote down her information. Quote:
Sticking it on her robes, Leah sat down next to Angel. "Hi. Excited?" she beamed. This class must be easy for the muggle-born girl. Setting her bag down, Leah looked around and wondered why so many people wrote rubbish onto their name tags. |
This class wasn't exactly Bryant's cup of tea, but he'd give it a shot. Sure he had lived right next to one of the biggest muggle capitols in the world, but he didn't spend much time with them. When he wasn't at school back in the states, he was traveling with his brother's quidditch teams and living in various wizarding villages. He didn't really have much time for muggles. So the class, while he had done a lot of reading, would be a challenge. Fidgeting with his old quidditch shirt from his former school as he entered the room, Bryant gave a glance around the classroom before giving a friendly nod to the professor. "Good day professor. My name is Bryant Morris, fourth year transfer. I do hope you are well." He said, taking a name tag and finding a seat. He pulled out the only muggle pen he owned and quickly wrote his name and year in a very neat cursive. Quote:
|
Acknowledges Jasmine and says hi to Leah and Candice Cris smiled at Jasmine once he turned his head back to the front. "I wonder what the Professor is going to be teaching us today," as he sat down comfortably in his chair. Yes he knew that Professor Hadley had said not to make themselves too comfortable but he figured that even if he had a few minutes, he would do so. Turning his head, he waved at Leah, smiling in her direction before glancing over at another young Gryffindor he'd never met personally but had seen in classes. "Hi Leah, it's good to see you...and hi there," he smiled at the young lion. |
She had lived with her muggle relatives in California for most of her life, so Penelope should do well in muggle studies. It was not until a few years ago when it was becoming closer to the time when Penelope would be attending Hogwarts, and her magical abilities were growing stronger, that her mother had insisted that her family should move back to the wizarding village in England that her relatives lived in. Before her family moved, Penelope had not known much about the wizarding world and magic. It had been really hard for her muggle dad to adjust to the wizarding world. Finding the class after walking all the way down to the first floor, Penelope entered the room. Entering the classroom, Penelope greeted the Professor. "Hello Professor Hadley." She took a name tag and wrote her name and year on it. Quote:
|
Relieved class hadn't started yet, the second year made her way into the classroom prepared for today's lesson. With her books held against her chest, she began walking towards the front of the classroom where she'd seen Professor Hadley. Hadn't she heard somewhere that she'd just returned from having a baby? Josette felt terrible for not even acknowledging this. Once near the Professor she gave a polite bow before she said softly, "H-Hello Professor...I-I hope you are well.." Giving her a nod, she turned to find a seat where she'd placed her things down. Soon after taking a quick moment to write down her name on the name tag. Quote:
|
Muggle Studies. Yep. Probably one of the classes he will enjoy genuinely. Prior to attending this class, Ethan made sure that he got the professor’s name this time. He guessed it was fair that way since the professors knew them all; transfers or not. Professor Josephina Hadley. Copy that. The Slytherin walked into the classroom and gave the professor a warm smile and a wave. “Good day, Professor Hadley.” After giving her a nod, he then got himself a green tag and a green marker and wrote down his name. The house pride thing going on in their common room was finally sinking in. Quote:
Now. Where’s Simon? |
Muggle Studies should have been easy for her. Lily honestly believed that, considering she was sort of half Muggle. A quarter Muggle, really, not that anyone had ever felt the need to ask. The important fact was that she was a witch, and that was why she was at Hogwarts. Yet she still couldn’t ignore the fact she was related to a Muggle, and that was why she continually felt she should have considered the subject one of her stronger ones. Unfortunately, it was more one of her average ones, but she liked Professor Hadley. She’d been curious at the announcement for the lesson, too, seeing the rumors she’d heard as well as the knowledge she hadn’t remembered seeing her at school before now. She wasn’t about to ask, though. Maybe asking would have been rude, and she wasn’t that. In any case, the professor was there, and she’d given her a smile as she’d entered the classroom and taken the name tag offered to her. “Hi Professor Hadley!,” she added. She wasn’t offended at the suggestion they all needed those, not like it looked like some of her classmates were. If anything, it would save her the trouble of needing to introduce herself if there was partner work, like she’d had to do in the first Potions lesson with Leah. She’d seen the second year as she’d headed for an open seat, too, and given her a little smile as well. She’d sort of eyed Demelza as she’d passed her sitting behind Cris looking as if she was trying to memorize the back of his head, too. As long as there didn’t end up being any hysterics, though, she figured they were all safe. She’d still found a seat nearby just in case, settling in and pulling a pen out of her bag to write on her name tag. Quote:

Simon walked into the door of the Muggle Studies classroom. He couldn't believe that a school that was filled with magical people had a class about regular muggles. He grinned as he entered the room. Oh boy, he was certainly going to enjoy this class. He wondered what they were going to learn about in this class. He gave the Professor a shy smile and a nod. "Hello Professor Hadley," he said as he walked past her desk, picked up a name tag and green marker. Simon quickly wrote his name down and then placed the name tag on him. He made sure that his handwriting was neat and legible. That was a always a good start. Quote:
|
SPOILER!!: Simon Ethan spotted Simon right away and gave him a salute as his friend took the seat beside him. Was he ready? Oh yes, he is! "I'm pumped! Can't wait to unfold more muggle mysteries." Although he did grow up in the muggle world, there were still things that are unclear to him. It must be his wizarding blood talking, but there are things that can be easily accomplished by magic, yeah? The young Slytherin will be forever baffled as to why muggles love to complicate things. Mhm. Ethan watched as Simon prepped for the lesson. And...oops. He forgot to bring his muggle pencil! His beloved muggle pencil. "Er...Simon? Is it okay if I borrow one of your pens?" And can he borrow the green one too? Thanks. |
Jeremiah walked in with a grin on his face, this class he was particularly good at, Muggle stuff was right up the boys alley thanks to his sister. with his bag slug on his shoulder he was excited to bring pens and pencils other tan a self inking quill and even brought extras in case others needed them, if they didn't read the noticeboard. "Hello Professor!" he was chipper she could tell, yeah? Grabbing a orange marker and a red name tag cos gryffindor, and also cos it was the one on top of the pile he was just lucky like that. He scribbled his name on and year on it and stuck it to his robes, yup good. Jeremiah Walker Fifth Year |
Text Cut: Grayson "Hey, Whitty." The boy greeted back casually, making room for his fellow he-snake at the near-by seat. Text Cut: "The Beauty is there, but the beast is in her heart"-Hall 'n Oates The Slytherin audibly growled at being separated from his housemate by Abbi's BIG BOTTOM. She was, in fact, a small girl, but at the time, Cutty's thoughts were only on the interceding gesture. Well, if she wanted to make an Abbi sandwich, seemed a shame to waste a perfectly good opportunity. Cutty smiled and waved at the tiny lioness. What was she even talking about? Grayson Whitlock hadn't misspelled his name. Wait, were the name tags charmed to read letters other than the ones written by the students so that they'd have to figure out Muggle means of correcting them? Is that what the Professor had meant by not getting too settled into their seats? Cutty took a look around the classroom, trying to absorb everyone's names before they changed. Text Cut: Simon Cutty waved over to Simon as he entered and greeted him first. There were a lot of Slytherin boys this term, but to Cutty that was a good thing. Less to stand out amongst. He never had to be that token Slytherin student again. Not like last year where they were being eaten alive by Hufflepuffs, it seemed. "Mordaunt." He greeted Ethan too as Simon took a seat next to him. Ethan was the most popular boy in school. Good people to know. Yes. Merlin. Was this class going to get started soon? The smell of the markers was threatening to give Cutty hallucinations. Wonderful, wonderful hallucinations. |

Was he.. Oh, there was boy sitting next to her. Judging by the green robes, he must've been from the Slytherin House. Josie gave him a side glance as he sat beside her and scribble his name down on his name tag. She had tensed up when she saw him...wave at her? Josie looked at him to see him smiling at her, & she felt her cheeks feel very warm as they were beginning to redden. She gave a very faint wave back in his direction not too long after he'd waved to her. ..Her blue eyes immediately averting back towards her desk. |
SPOILER!!: Cutty; popular?! really?? "Hey, Mordaunt!" Hehehehe. Cool, yeah? They should really start confusing the people around here. Ethan made a mental note about asking his pseudo cousin/twin brother about him and that girl back in the Common Room. He never got the chance to talk to him again about it. Who knows? Maybe he'll be needing his assistance, a.k.a singing? Heh. SPOILER!!: Josette What? Why? Ethan’s enthusiastic wave died down and his smile slowly faded. The Slytherin scratched the back of his head confused, and glanced quickly at Simon. He just waved and smiled, but the boy felt that he did something wrong? Was…waving and smiling offensive? He did see her small wave. But, was that actually a wave or a gesture that he should move away from her? Confusing, this one was. But hey, look! She's a Ravenclaw. He met Coop, and Eagle Sophie, and Jasmine, and Mo…and they were all friendly and energetic compared to his seatmate. “Er…are you okay?” Blink. Blink. It was just a wave and a smile that he did a few seconds ago...unless of course he looked like a weirdo while doing it. On second thought, maybe he did look like one. Hmm. |

Now facing the class, her hands clasped together in front her she patiently waited for the students to settle in and quiet down (the few who were talking to their neighbors anyway). "Hello, hello! As most of you already know, I'm Professor Hadley. Bit of a background for you; this will be my third year teaching Muggle Studies, but before that I taught Arithmancy for ten years here at Hogwarts and before that, Charms for two years in South Africa. I grew up in a muggle neighborhood so despite my mother being a witch, we did a lot of things the 'muggle way'. I'm here to help you, so if you have any questions about anything, muggle related or not, don't hesitate to visit me." And that just about summed up the basics anyway. Now onto the lesson. "Anyway, onto our first lesson. As I made note of on the notice board, I think this lesson is important for anyone. It will be slightly basic, but hopefully informative, even if you already know some about the topic. Just to see what you know; who can explain to me the difference between cooking and baking?" ooc: Lesson has begun, so if you didn't post arriving, pretend on if you've been here the whole time or risk points being docked. Thanks! =) |

... OH, class had begun. Her blue eyes looking towards the Professor as she had begun the lesson. What was the difference between Cooking & Baking? She paused as she began to think about it. Not being someone who cooked a lot, she wasn't entirely sure. But she'd figure she'd give her some form of an answer. Her hand slowly raised, "P-Professor, might cooking be more so used for creating meals & such..While b-baking could be more commonly used to bake sweets? Or perhaps things like bread?" |
....but before he could even get a response from the Ravenclaw, Professor Hadley decided to start the lecture. Ethan gave his very quiet seatmate a nod and a grin, and listened to the professor. Wow. Arithmancy for ten years? Interesting. Hmm. Maybe the Headmistress can't find a suitable replacement for her because she's that good? Maybe. Onto the lesson now! Cooking and Baking? Oh. OH. He knows this one! "Professor." Ethan raised his hand before he proceeded. "Cooking is some sort of experiment. My mom used to do the...'add-this-add-that' method. While Baking is...I guess pretty much like Potions? You have to be very specific about the ingredients and its quantity." That's at least what his mother used to do. So...will they bake and cook today? He's ready!...to eat. Noms! |
Cooking and baking? Was there a difference? They was definitely one similarity and that was they both involved making food. However, since the Professor had asked for a difference, Cris had to believe there were differences. So he sat back and thought for while trying to remember what his mother did in the kitchen with the house elves, and eventually concluding that there were indeed differences, Cris raised his hand. "Professor, cooking involves the preparation of food into meals which can be done in various ways like frying, sautéing, or stir frying of foods in a pan, pot or wok. I guess baking is another part of cooking only that involves putting the prepared food in an oven to bake on dry heat. ." Was he right? |
Sophie was RIGHT THERE NEXT TO HIM, which was always cause enough for Toby to smile even wider than usual. He gave her a 'sup' nod right back, plus a little nudge with his elbow. Hi Sophie. Hey. While he waited for the class to start, Toby let one of his legs swing back and forth beneath him, sole of his foot just brushing the floor. He was already wondering if there would be a practical part to this lesson, 'cause he was REALLY in the kind of mood to be moving about. Aaaaaaaaaaaand they were starting.............. .................... and THIS was why it was a good idea that Toby was in this class. He literally didn't have a clue of the specific differences like the other kids in here seemed to know. Were THEY all muggleborn, or did they simply know this stuff? Was it in the textbook? He should really read the textbook. Toby scribbled down some notes and raised his hand, fingers waggling in the air. With his other hand, he tapped the feathered end of his quill on the desk, while his leg still swung beneath the table. "Uhhh, I guess all baking is cooking, but not all cooking is baking." Would they be learning to COOK? Boy oh boy, Toby was awful at cooking, this could be a super helpful lesson if that was the direction they were going. |
Jasmine was hoping that she was going to enjoy this class. She knew a thing or two about muggle living and hopefully this knowledge would help her out in Muggle Studies. When the Professor asked a question about cooking vs. baking, Jasmine raised her hand. "Cooking is usually done on a stove or a grill. Baking is done in an oven. You bake things like bread, cakes and pies, but you can also bake meats and fish.". Baking was something that Jasmine enjoyed very much, especially desserts. |
Text Cut: Abbi and Cutty! Oh look what the wind blew in. Grayson groaned and rolled his eyes. Freaking Merlin why did SHE have to come over here and ruin things? And she knew Cutty? Cutty Mordaunt? He wanted to ask how he managed to survive being around HER but he stopped himself when a quick glance had been made over towards the Professor. She was greeting him. And smiling innocently, too. Grayson narrowed his eyes at her before saying, "I don't care if you like me or whatever. There's no need to get so touchy feely. We're in a lesson." JEEZ. Girls. Stop patting him and smiling like that at him, mkay? It was freaking weird. And if she was joining them oh-so-casually, then the Slytherin was VERY glad that Cutty was here too. Oh look, they were getting started! With a question about cooking and baking, too. Did he know much about baking and cooking? Er. He doubted it. But this DID raise the question as to whether they were going to be cooking and/or baking and whether he could prank the Sassy Gryffindor sitting next to him. "Isn't baking just a type of cooking?" he asked, raising his hand in the air. Like that Bookstore Kid had mentioned. "Baking's to do with the oven, I think, and heating things up using that. Cooking's just everything to do with food preparation." Uh huh. That was all he knew. |
Sooo this lady had to be old if she had been here for so long. The woman seemed nice enough and the subject would surely be easy enough so it really wasn't a big deal. Plus. weren't older people supposed to be all jolly and stuff? Listening to the first question asked, she was right in assuming this class was going to be a cake walk. Oh she knew this one, but how to explain it? Her hand shot into the air. "Professor cooking is for like food, food, and baking is things that you do in the oven like cookies." Mmmm... cookies. You could bake other things in the over too, but cookies were the most important. |
The Gryffindor continued to rock on the back of the chair legs while he waited for the class to start. He had been looking around the room as well and was therefore unaware of the silent spell being casted towards him. The boy gasped as he lost his balance and he fell backwards with a THUD on the ground. He groaned as he rubbed his back and stood up quickly. No one had seen that, nope. Kevin set his chair upright again and sat back down. On all four legs this time. The difference between cooking and baking? His head snapped up at this. Were they gonna make delicious food? Pleeeeeeaaaase let it be true! The Gryffindor LOVED food and that reminded him that he still had some toffees in his pocket. He would eat them later when the Professor wasn't facing the class. " The difference is that....uhm..." Wait! He totally knew this! It was on the tip of his tongue. ................okay he had nothing. He had never cooked or baked before. Nor had he ever watch his mother cook. He was just interested in eating it. The boy had already forgotten that he was in the middle of a sentence and began to rock the chair back on two legs again. |
The difference between baking and cooking? This should come rather simple to anyone really, but considering Tag had a chef in the 'house' he could give a good answer to this. "Cooking is more commonly used for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You use, usually a frying pan or stove, or pot. And you make meals that can take up to thirty minutes for one single ingredient. Like, pasta can take some time to cook, and soups can too. Now, baking, that's for sweets and desserts. And they are usually served after the main meal. But for baking, its a lot more measured precisely with time and ingredient measurements. Cooking, you can be relaxed about how long you take or what you want to add in or out of the dish. Baking on the other hand, say you accidentally put too much sugar into your treat, it could turn out to be a complete disaster." That was very bad. Once Tag had baked chocolate chip cookies with his sister, had read the measurements wrong on the ingredients and they had come out the stove flat and stiff, almost felt like he would be breaking a tooth. |
Mentions Jasmine Cris smiled over at Jasmine when she shared her answer. She had been quick with her answer too, which Cris had to admit was a good one. Cris thought back to the Chocolate banana filled cake his mother was famous for baking, and began to feel homesick. He missed that cake but most of all, he missed his family. Chocolate banana filled cake, Professor. Can we bake that? Cris quietly thought to himself. |
Angel looked at the Professor and then raised her hand. "Baking is where you get your hands dirty and actually do stuff like make the food yourself, were as cooking basically you just go to the shop and buy something and then put it in the cooker." Angel really liked baking. |
Cooking and baking? Were they...going to be cooking and/or baking in this class? As in they'd be around FOOD? Penelope perked right up at this thought. Merlin, yes, this was awesome. Forget how tired she was, this was really awesome. She was so glad she'd come to this lesson now. Her hand went up. "I think one difference is that the idea of baking is usually associated with sweets, like cake and cookies and things like that, while cooking's usually more savoury and stuff, like pizza and tacos and lots of other stuff. That's not all that can be baked or cooked, but that's usually someone's first thought when they think of it." |

So if they were listening to her responses after each student, then they should have gathered the difference between the two... which theoretically wasn't much, since baking was cooking, but cooking didn't have to be baking. "Today, we'll be cooking. More specifically, baking. One of the first things to remember when doing any sort of cooking and food preparation is to keep your work area clean. If you're just starting out, you'll want to make sure the recipes aren't too complicated ... and you'll definitely want to read through the whole recipe." She paused, eyeing the time. They definitely had time for this, but they did need to get down to the kitchens soon. "Can anyone think of anything else to maybe know before we get started?" No this wasn't Potions Class, but that didn't mean they still couldn't make stuff. It wasn't as if they would be using cauldrons; that was so not muggle. |
Hmm. Something else they needed to know? Norah raised her hand and said, "Well, you don't want to take anything out of the oven with your bare hands. That'll hurt." She knew that from experience, yep. Baking cookies with her grandmother hadn't been as fun as she had expected after she had burned herself. But they were going to bake! Cool! That probably meant there'd be some oh-so-yummy treats to eat when they finished class. Oh, food. It's enough to make any class your favorite. |
Ben was glad that she had seemed happy by his welcome back. At least that was someone happy. When the lesson was begun, the third year thought about possible answers though it seemed he couldn't come up with anything his classmates weren't already mentioned. So he remained quiet, taking down the answer Professor Hadley had remarked before raising his hand to answer for her second question. "You need to make sure that you have every ingredient that you need." Couldn't bake what you wanted without the many parts required. |
Cris quickly took down notes as Professor Hadley explained the difference. Yes!! They would be baking today, and Cris' first question was what. But he knew the answer to that question would discovered soon enough. He had a question though and so he raised his hand,"Professor I've heard mention somewhere that the heat required to bake a specific recipe may have to be taken into account depending on which altitude you are at? What may require 300 degrees Celsius when baked high above sea level may end up being a different heat range at say sea level. Is that true or an old wives tale?" Cris hoped that was a reasonable question to ask. ...and then he raised his hand again, "Um, Professor can we maybe bake a Chocolate Banana Filled cake too?" ...well it was worth a try. |
Yay! Based on the first question, they would not be going outside. Probably down to the kitchens though. Which was fine with her. Anyway, this was a easy question. "Baking usually refers to cooking in an oven or making cookies and stuff like that, while cooking usually refers to using other means like a stove or microwave or making soups and things." Oooh, were they making cookies? Because that would be awesome! You know, as long as no one burned anything or set anything on fire. Oh, so they were baking something. Probably cookies, since those were relatively easy. "Use oven mitts when removing anything from the oven." That was her rather intelligent contribution to the conversation. It was true, though. |
Angel raised her hands. "Professor I think that you should know what you are making otherwise you are in trouble." Angel sighed. |
Yeah, yeah, yeah.... cookies! She was kind of on the same page right? AJ didn't particularly like cooking or baking, but her mum did a lot of baking for her sweet shop, and she would sometimes lend a hand. Hmmm... what else did they need to know? Once again her hand was in the air. "To get out of the way when there is a hot pot coming through." According to her mum anyways. She had to find that one out the hard way. |
Difference between cooking and baking? Well, that was kind of easy, yeah? Cooking was the broad term for making any kind of food, while baking was specifically talking about cooking baked foods. It was kind of like a square in that respect, y'know, 'cause all baking was cooking but not all cooking was baking. He didn't answer, though, 'cause Ascanius Stark didn't do the question and answering thing in class, yeah? At least not if he could help it. Waste of his time, really. As to her next question, he did consider it. There were loads of things that were important when it came to kitchen things. The most he could think of, though, was using mitts for hot things in and out of the oven and also aprons. He rocked one of those, by the way, in case they were wearing them. |

... "No." She said flatly at his next question. "First of all, we don't have the ingredients, but more importantly, I rarely condone baking sweets and consuming them." So baking a cake was out of the question, basically. Quote:

"But yes, yes, knowing what you're making is a very good thing to know." Anything else? Glancing around at the students in anticipation of more questions, she waited another moment or two before speaking once more. "Right then. If there are no further questions, then please, stand up and follow me to the kitchens for some baking experience, as that will be the best way to learn and explain!" |
After passing Ethan a pen, he was about to open his mouth to reply when class had started. He made a face as if to say 'Let's talk after class, mate'. As the Professor asked the difference between baking and cooking, Simon's hopes of acing the class went downhill. Cooking and baking?! Uhh.. Uhh.. He didn't know. He remained calm and decided not to raise his hand when the Professor asked for answers. Yeah, he knew what was going on. Of course he did. Okay so they were going to be cooking today. Awesome! Okay so maybe he could do this. He wasn't going to fail. Simon had some experience in the kitchens. Back at home, he used to help his mum out in the kitchen each night for dinner- it was always better cooking the food than cleaning up. So now what did they need to know other than the recipe? ...Hmm..... What would his mum say? Simon paused, racking his brain for an answer. He was about to raise his hand and offer the answer (the point that they needed to make sure that the kitchen was clean before they began baking. If it wasn't, someone could get sick. Cleanliness was always important no matter if the subject was Muggle Studies or Potions.); however, Professor Hadley was already up on her feet and asking everyone to head down to the kitchens. He lowered his hand. He began packing his bag up and followed the Professor out the door. Merlin, they were going to be baking now. |
So, they'd be baking then. Adi wasn't too interested in that but he was very much interested in eating whatever they baked. Especially if it were sweet. Hehe. Adi raised his hand. "Measure all the ingredients properly. Well, the ones that need to be measured.'' Because who wanted incorrect portions of the ingredients that could spoil the entire baking? ........... And so it was down to the kitchens! Adi packed up his stuff and followed his head of House. |
Cris sighed sadly as he acknowledged there would be chocolate banana filled cake at the end of this lesson. Picking up his things, he waited for Jasmine to collect hers before walking out of the classroom with her and following the Professor down the halls. |
They were getting right to it then. Luckily for AJ, she hadn't bothered unpacking anything so all she had to do was pick up her bag and get in the line that would eventually lead them to the kitchen. |
Welp. Seemed like they were all done with the Q & A section of class, so Ascanius gathered his things and left. Heading down to the kitchen for part 2. |
Copying down the rest of the suggestions on what to remember, Ben almost missed the instructions to move. Until, of course, the third year noticed the movement around him and everyone seemingly getting up from their seats. He quickly shuffled his notes and quill into his bag and then getting up to his feet to follow suit. Cooking lesson...cool. The Gryffindor just hoping as he left the classroom that he did better with baking than he risked doing in potions. Could food blow up? |
They were heading to the kitchens! Thank Merlin that hadn't taken too long. Slinging her bag with her things in it over her shoulder, Penelope went along with the other students, heading for the kitchens. |
It seemed like no one really had any more questions, probably because they all wanted to cook, and then hopefully eat their creation. Tag couldn't blame them. So, the blonde tightened the straps on his rucksack and headed out the classroom, following everyone else and the Professor. |
MOVEMENT WOOOO! Toby was RIGHT UP out of his seat again, and waited for Soph to stand up too so they could walk down to the Kitchens together. He'd never actually been in there before, so this would be SUPER cool to see. And they would be learning to COOK which was also dead handy. See? Toby knew he took this lesson for a reason. |
Oop, Hadley wasn't kidding about not getting comfortable. Layla jumped up quickly and joined everyone else in journeying down to the kitchens. |
Oh, they were going to bake something! Jasmine was very excited and curious about what they would be baking. OK no sweets apparantly, but there were other tasty possibilities to consider. Jasmine gathered her things and stood up, ready to try her hand at baking. She joined Cris and they followed the Professor in the direction of the kitchens. This was going to be fun, at least Jasmine hoped it would be. |
Now this was Lux's kind of class. Learning AND food combined. This one would be really hard to beat. Professor Hadley was amazing; both of her Heads of House were wonderful women. Getting up from her seat happily, Lux followed the others to the kitchens. She was all smiles because she was happy. |
CATCH UP post ahhh Zander waited for the rest of the class to start arriving. YAWN. Why was everyone taking so long, and more importantly, why was he this early!? He rested his eyes while he waited and soon enough the lesson began! Ooooh cooking and baking. This means there must be food involved in this lesson. Which is perfect, because after hearing about all this cooking stuff, Zander was definitely getting hungry for some yummies. He watched as everyone eagerly raised hands and offered up answers. Maybe he'd keep quiet this lesson and give everyone else a chance to add to the conversation. Yes, how kind of him. Then before he knew it they were moving camp!?! TO THE KITCHENS! YAY KITCHENS! YAY FOOD! AHHH. Zander eagerly jumped out of his seat and followed everyone out the door. This would be lots of fun. Heh. |
Kace dazed out again in this class. He heard the professor ask the difference between cooking and baking. He knew this answer since he knew how to do both. But he heard his fellow classmates answers and smiled. Some of them were creative that is for sure. Some of weren't quite right. Kace knew for baking you needed exact measurement and for cooking you didn't need to be SO precise. You can be lenient with measurements. As the professor moved on, she said they were going into the kitchens! He smiled and stood up and followed the teacher out to the kitchens. Now this was the class he was looking forward to. He found Lux and walked out of the classroom waiting to see what they were gonna cook or bake. |
Cooking............. Nigel could not cook anything but pasta because that was easy. Put in pot and boil. Other than that he could not cook and it usually results in fire. Which is awesome. But that is besides the point. He listened to what the differences between cooking and baking or whatever it was. Interesting, it certainly was Well that was quick. Nigel got up and followed everyone out of the room to the kitchens. |
This lesson was involving FOOD. Caleb was definitely interested. He usually didn't like Muggle Studies, because what was the point? It wasn't like he was going to LOSE his magic any time soon...but food. Yes. Food was good. He liked food! He got up anxiously and followed the rest of the class down to the kitchens. |
Woah. They were BAKING today!? Kyroh giggled, and looked around he classroom for Maddie. LOOK BODDIE! BAKING! They had already done baking so they would be PROS at this. Such Pros. Sliding off his chair, Kyroh quickly followed the rest of the class down to the kitchens. |
Ethan grinned at Simon and got the pen he offered. Nodding, he wrote down all the important notes that he needed to know as quickly and as legibly as possible. He's very excited to go to the kitchens now, you know. Cooking, baking...it meant food. And this growing boy needs a good amount of...whatever it is that they are going to do. He also took note of Professor Hadley's comment about his answer. That just made him miss his mother more. What's even sadder is the fact that she will never get to cook for her family anymore. Ethan sighed to release the sad feeling in his chest, picked up his satchel and placed his notebook and Simon's pen inside it. The Slytherin stood up and slung his satchel on his shoulder and reached out to Simon. Boy, is he excited to get to the kitchen or what? Ethan shrugged and turned to where his Ravenclaw seatmate was sitting. "Er...Josette's your name, yeah?" The boy paused and selected his words carefully. She seemed to be very sensitive around people. "Sorry about earlier." For whatever it is that he did. "I'm Ethan." Hi. Hello. Again. "Come on, it's time to do some fun stuff!" Ethan grinned at the girl and followed the rest of the class to the kitchen. |
Whoa. She barely got time to register anything that was being said, mainly because all she could think about was Oakey and how he would've loved to bring up his smoothies and veggie drinks and all things healthy into this class. But now they were leaving? Okay, well, fine. Miss Wisteria stepped outside just like everyone else. She would've gone somewhere else, if she wasn't the least bit curious about this little trip. Hadley, you just got here, and you're already taking trips? Coolness. |
Quote:
Really? But, she'd only baked ONCE before & that would have clearly have turned into a downright messy disaster if Ella hadn't stepped in. What was she going to do now? Actually blow up the kitchens this time? Josie let out a little bit of a soft groan as she began collecting her things to follow the Professor & the rest of the class, but stopped when the boy she was sitting next to suddenly began speaking to her again. She tensed up as he spoke to her by addressing her by her name & then was, wait, apologizing to her? A bit random, but at least she'd gotten a name from him. Ethan. She spoke softly, "I-It's nice to meet you.." She studied his very happy mood & found it pretty interesting, especially for a boy wearing those green robes. From what she understood, not a lot of Slytherins were that happy-NOT that she found him weird for being happy, it was just....different than what she's seen before? .....And interesting.. Standing up from her chair, she was soon walking amongst her classmates as they headed towards the kitchens. |
Right... they would be baking something in muggle studies class... in the kitchens with all the house elves. And they couldn't bake any sweets? This was why Bryant didn't exactly care for muggle stuff. There were other ways of getting food than having to bake it themselves. But he didn't complain and followed everyone else out of the room and down to the kitchens, throwing his bag across his back as he went. |
Catching up!!! He Knew the difference between cooking and baking.. when baking you Baked things.. in an over usually and when just plain cooking you could use the stove top or a grill or a griddle, really it was endless. Baking though that happened in an oven. Pizza was made in an oven.. so was cake. he liked pizza and cake, yes yes he did. Before he knew it, while he was busy daydreaming of Pizza and cake, they were being ushered up and out of their seats and towards the..... Kitchens. WERE THEY MAKING CAKE!?!? Jeremiah was EXCITED okay! and he wasted no time picking up his things and gathering with the rest of them. TO THE KITCHENS!!! |
