Default Library Bookshelves

A large number of floor-to-ceiling bookcases fill up the library, creating aisles upon aisles of books available for students to read and browse. To make finding books for all years a little easier Mr Kitridge has divided the bookshelves into sections like romance, suspense, crime, history, plants and fungi etc.

To return books just walk up to the appropriate shelf and hold up the book. The gripping charm in place on the shelves will take a hold of the book. When you feel a tug on the book let go and the book will fly up and find its right place amongst the other books on the shelves. When retrieving a book you can use the sliding ladders or if you feel confident with your magic you can use a simple accio charm to retrieve the book you want.

In front of each aisle there is small set of desks which students can use to complete homework, copy notes, take book references or chat. Keep your voices down and be mindful of falling books and other students accessing books around you.

Happy reading and learning!

She snorted at the google reference, maybe she would if things got out of control with his teeth.

Hmm... he was being so helpful and all. Was there anything else that she could use some help with? "I think I'm good on the unicorn stuff." Minus having the unicorn of course, but in due time. "Unless you can show me a book that tells me how to get a boy to like a girl, then I'm all good." Not for her. GAG! For her sister and that terribly quiet lion boy. AJ had tried and failed. Maybe this man knew something. "Or any advice?" That way she wouldn't have to read.
Oh, she would brush the unicorn's teeth, of course. What other option was there? "Well, then I guess you're all set." All she needed to do was find someone who could sell her a unicorn. Too bad it was probably illegal. He wasn't going to mention that though. Slytherin he might be, but Fuller found it difficult to crush the dreams of first years unless they deserved it.

Uh oh. Boy advice. Why did girls come to talk to him about this? "Bake him cookies," he replied simply. Boys loved baked goods. "Or steal cookies from the kitchen and pretend it was you who baked them." That was the easier, more fun way.

Simon had to find that textbook. He walked down one aisle of the library, searching the many titles of the books for the one that he'd read only last week. When he went to the place where he thought it was, Simon paused. Oh where was it? he thought. He pursed his lips. Hmm... he thought it was here. He continued walking down this particular aisle as his eyes hungrily scanned the books and then he found it.

Aha! He pulled down the book and then began to flick through the pages quickly.

Hmmmm..

Austin walked down the isles of the the library, trying not to make any noise. His last adventure at runes led him to catch quite a nasty cold. He wasn't contagious or anything, he was just sneezing a lot. Going to the Hospital wing for a cold seemed a little extreme, so he was currently looking for a remedy. He thought about owling his mom, and asking her to make something, since she was a doctor. But again, she had bigger problems to worry about, than his small cold. So he decided to just send her an owl, letting her know what was up, and carried on with his life.

He came across an isle where an older boy was looking through an odd book. "Hey," his voice sounded hoarse. "Whatchya reading?"

Whilst the Memory Charm is easier to cast, the Memory Potion is much safer to use.... read Simon as he scanned through the various lines of text. Everything in the book had supported what Professor Fuller had told him in his office. Hmmm... Simon would just have to go pay a visit to the Potions Master after all. He had heard someone sneeze but he continued reading, blocking at the noise. Ah... where was I?

He was so absorbed in his research that he didn't even notice when someone approached him. Then someone with a hoarse voice greeted him. Simon could've jumped at that point in time. Maybe he even did jump a little. It wasn't because he was afraid though. It was because he was genuinely startled. He hadn't been expecting to run into anyone that he knew at the library so he was rather shocked when someone greeted him. He glanced up from his textbook to find a young Ravenclaw boy with a slightly hoarse voice.

"Uh, hello!" he said. Oh, he was asking him what he was reading? Ah, a fellow researcher like himself! Simon grinned shyly at the young boy. "I'm doing a little bit of research right now. I'm reading a textbook about Memory Charms. The current chapter that I've opened has a dissertation on whether Memory Charms or Potions are more useful. I'm Simon. Simon Holden," he explained. He paused a bit, placing the book carefully down on the bookshelf ledge. "Do you enjoy reading?" Well that was probably a very silly question since Simon could already tell that the boy was a Ravenclaw; however, it was probably best to ask and not assume.

Sniff.

"Austin. Austin Moore." He hoped he didn't sound too bad. "Why are you reading about Memory Charms and/or Potions?" He wasn't planning on erasing someone's memory, did he? If that was the case, Austin didn't want to be around this guy. He may have lived a short life, but he still enjoyed the memories he had of it.

Or maybe he was trying to erase his own memory, which also wasn't good. But he tried not to think about that. "I like to read, but I'm more into healing potions or spells. Stuff that can make people feel better." Just like his mom. He wanted to be the next Healer at Hogwarts, but that was a ways off. He had only just begun his school years. Usually he would spend his time in the library looking up new healing potions. But for now, he just wanted a cold remedy. He hated being sick, and quite frankly, he never wanted to be sick again. Even if it was just a small cold. "On a side note, do you know how to make a cold remedy of some sort?"

"Pleasure to meet you, Austin," he said with a kind smile before hearing the boy sniff. Was the boy sick? Poor thing. Being sick away from home was the worst thing ever. During Simon's first year at his old school, he had gotten bronchitis. It had been a nasty winter. "You sound a little unwell. Are you okay?" Ah, and this young first year was a curious one. Why was he researching about Memory Potions and Charms? "Ah.. Well, I'm just very curious about them. I enjoy doing a little bit of research and their applications," he paused. Then he gave Austin a teasing grin. "Don't worry, I'm not going to use this on anyone." Well, anyone at Hogwarts.

Simon raised his eyebrows curiously. Ah, so the boy was a researcher too. And the boy also wanted to be a Healer. "Healing spells are rather interesting. If you think about it, the Memory Potion is a way to heal someone's memory. Apparently, it's supposed to help the drinker have easier access to memories that they may have forgotten," he explained as he slipped a bookmark into the textbook that he had been reading.

So the boy was feeling a little under the weather? Poor thing! Simon nodded. "I do. I think the Pepperup Potion would do the trick. It's supposed to heal a cold pretty quickly though you may have steam coming out of your ears for a little bit," he had made it during his second year with two upperclassmen back in Australia. It was a handy potion to know how to make. However, Simon knew more about muggle remedies for combating a cold. "If you need any cold medicine, I do have some too. My mum sent me off with a huge bottle." Yes, his mother had been very thorough with packing up the young boy with enough allergy tablets, cough and cold supplies, and bandaids that Simon had begun to feel like a walking pharmacy.

Austin nodded at the Slytherin's question. "One of the Ancient Runes class took a trip outside, and the weather took a turn for the worse. We were trudging through snow that went up to my knees." It was a terrible class, even before the snow incident, and the fact that he now didn't want to attend another class ever, didn't help either. Runes never clicked with him, and he hoped he wouldn't ever have to need them in his future.

The boy did make a point about the memory potions and charms. He could see how they would be able to help those in a sort of 'healing' way. "I guess it could also help if someone had a traumatizing event that prevented them from going about their lives, and the memory potion got rid of that memory." A traumatizing event like.. say... Ancient Runes in the snow.

The Pepperup potion did sound familiar. He had vague memories of calling it the 'Peppermint' potion when he was younger. He had taken it when he was little, but he hated it, and vowed never to take it again. Yea, I'm not too fond of the whole 'steam coming out of your ears' thing. When I was younger, my mom gave me a bit of it to help fight my colds, but the steam feels so weird when it gets blown out of my ears." He shivered, but more from the steam than from his cold. Oh, he had cold medicine? "Is it muggle medicine?" He was so curious about muggle medicine. How did it work? What did it look like? He had heard that they come in tiny capsules, but was there a little tiny person in the capsule?

He said it ladies and gentlemen, she was all set. "I think so too." Confirmation was nice though. All she needed now was the unicorn. The professor that was in charge of the creatures was absolutely no help at all so she would bribe information out of an older student. Who knows, she may even read one of these fine books in front of her and figure something out.

Cookies! What a good idea. She loved cookies so it made sense. "I'll make sure to tell my sis...ahem... her that." No need to go starting rumors when she had completely messed up the plan to get Benny and Angel together in the first place. She was no Betty Crocker, but her sister might have picked up a few things from their mother. "Thanks for your help..." What was his name again? AJ decided to just smile at the man instead.

Simon nodded. He supposed that all the classes were going outside these days. "Oh yes, I was there too. It was really freezing out there, huh?" said Simon as he shivered, remembering how much snow they had to trudge through. It had been really cold; however, they made it back inside.

"To get rid or alter a memory, it's better to use the Memory Charm according to Professor Fuller. However, its really tricky to make sure that it works properly. If you do it incorrectly, it could have devastating outcomes," he explained. That's what Fuller had told him when he had gone to see him. Memory was tricky and boy was that an understatement.

Simon chuckled. "I could imagine it being really odd actually. I never used that potion until I started attending wizarding schools. Mum didn't know how to make those so we'd have cough lollies and whatnot," he explained. Simon nodded. "It is muggle medicine. It works, but you just have to make sue you get a lot of rest too." Rest always helped a cold go away.

"There is something going on with the professors in this school. I think someone's spiking their pumpkin juice." He was only partly kidding, of course. He didn't really think there was something in their juice, but at the same time, there was something odd going on. But in reality it could just be him. This was his first year, so he didn't know what the professors were like last year. He didn't have any proper comparison.

Austin nodded at the boy's explanation of the Memory charm. It made sense, but what really got him going was the muggle medicine. "How does it work?" He asked, trying to keep his excitement inside him. "Is Rest what makes it work? What is muggle medicine? Is it a potion sort of thing?" He honestly had never seen muggle medicine before, because he hadn't ever needed it. His mom always used wizarding methods to cure him of his illnesses. "Do you have some of this thing with you? Or is it on your dorm?" He was so excited that he almost forgot about being sick, that was until he sneezed into a tissue that seemed to come out of nowhere. He made an effort to try to hide as many tissues as he could in his robes.

Where they going to go the Slytherin dorms? He knew he would never be allowed in, but maybe he would be able to catch a glimpse of it. One of the things Austin had been curious about was what the other common rooms looked like.

Someone was spiking the Professor's pumpkin juices? Simon looked baffled for a second. He knew not to take the comment literally; however, the boy was right. Some of the Professors were acting strange. He nodded. "Who knows? Some of them have been a little strange lately," he said in agreement.

"Work? Muggle medicine?" repeated Simon, trying to determine what the young Raven wished to know. He leaned against the bookshelf lightly. Well long story short. "Sort of... Well it can be. Muggle medicine is basically a genre of science that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. It's really cool. So if I had a headache, I'd take an Ibuprofen to help relieve myself. It's basically a small little pill that you take that works to alleviate pain and make you feel better. It helps a little but getting enough sleep is key." He paused. Merlin, he was sounding like one of those many muggle commercials that one would see on the telly. Oh dear. That was not what he wanted to sound like, but he didn't know how else to explain it. "I don't have anything with me, but I do have tissues if you want some? I could go run in and grab some of the medicine if you want." he offered pulling out a neat little box of kleenex from his bag. "What symptoms do you have? Doctor Simon Watson was here.

Austin's eyes widened in wonder as Simon talked. It was so fascinating how things like this worked. He enjoyed the muggle world, and the things they could do. But to be honest, the wizarding world just seemed a whole lot easier. Wands, magic, and potions. He loved everything about it. It was a lot easier to use your wand to do the dishes, as apposed to doing them by hand. At least that's what his mum told him.

He nodded at the tissue question, and gladly took one from the boy's box. He turned and blew his nose, so as not to disgust the nice person, then put it in his pocket. "Thanks, but you don't have to go all the way back to your dorm to get this I-bee-proof-rin for me." They had only just met, anyways, and he didn't see why a stranger would go back to their dorm to get some muggle... pill, was it? So strange, why not just take a potion?

Anyways... "I've got the sniffles, a bit of a cough, and my throat and head hurt." That sounded right. At the moment, his head hurt more than his throat, but that was mainly because he hadn't talked much the past couple hours. He was hoping it didn't start back up again now that he was talking.

Simon shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly. It was completely fine if the first year wanted him to go back to grab it. He knew what it was like to be sick away from home. Meh. It was terrible. "It's fine with me if you want to go get it but the potion works too. I know how much it stinks to be sick away from home," he said once more. Then he decided not to pick up the subject once again and continued to listen to Austin as he explained what was up with him. "Where's home for you?"

Sniffles, cough, and throat hurt? Merlin. He'd have to take a vitamin tablet after this encounter cause Simon didn't want to get sick. Being sick was.... horrible! The never ending amount of running noses and burning throat.... Yeah, he wasn't going to get sick.

Someone needed rest, thought the third year. "That doesn't sound good...Maybe take the potion then? It could help run all the symptoms out of your body... In a figurative sense of course," he explained chuckling.

Austin shook his head. "You don't have to go all the way down there for me." He really didn't mind. Mainly because they had only just met. He would feel so guilty if this boy went back to his dorm just for some medicine. "London, actually." There was a lot of people who came to Hogwarts that were from London. He saw a lot of people that he saw back home, which was a little weird. But that was fine, he loved the city. "My dad works in a little shop just outside of London, and we live above it. My mom works in a small hospital inside the city." Growing up, he asked his mom why she didn't just work in a bigger hospital. But she gave him the same answer every time, and that was because in a small hospital, she was able to connect with the patients better. Which he understood, it just meant she got a smaller paycheck.

Sniff.

Chuckling, Austin nodded. "I mean, the potion will work, and I could ask my mom. But she's such a worrier that I didn't want to bother her." She would constantly send him owls with letters asking him questions. If he didn't send an owl within minutes of getting another one, she would send two more. It would be like cutting off the head of Hydra. Definitely something that he didn't want to get into.

"Where's home for you?"

"Where's home for you?"
He raised his eyebrows. Wow. So Austin was close-ish to home? Well more close to home than Simon was. He was envious of the young first year being so close but it was probably good that such a young fellow was close to home. He nodded. "You live in London? That must be nice to be in the city. Do you like it?" he asked the first year with a kind smile.

Simon chuckled. "I understand. My mother tends to be over-worrisome too," he said with a warm smile. His mother didn't worry as much these days as her memory had diminished over the years.

Where was Simon's home?

"My home's Australia which is about a twenty four plus hour plane ride," he explained with a laugh. Oh Merlin, it was a very long trip. He couldn't wait until he knew how to use the floo network or could apparate back home.

Sarah thinks I'm cute | Shan's safe space.

Homework mostly completed, Charlie began to return the books she'd used to the shelves. She hadn't taken them out of the library, and it was a job she didn't mind doing. No doubt she should take them, so that she could finish the work.... but her notes seemed extensive enough, and right now she couldn't be bothered.

Right now she wanted to forget that Elodie and Cat and basically EVERYONE else was leaving soon, and that she couldn't even talk to Tristan and she was praying that he'd read the Prophet and knew that she wasn't ignoring him or not sending him anything. She was ranting mentally, and the task put a stop to that.

Maybe she needed company, but the effort of finding someone was just... It was easier to put books away.

If you thought the Gryffindor looked miserable it was because she was. How long had it been since they were last allowed outside? She didn't know how much more of this inside life she could take. She was used to the winter inhibiting movement but not completely. She missed the sun dammit. With spring approaching it would still be chilly but there would be SUN and her outside. There wasn't much oomph in her step as she made her way toward the library. It was the last place she thought to go but that's just it, she'd already gone everywhere else and was officially out of options.

People hung out in the library sometimes, yeah? Like on the odd occasion? If she looked hard enough she might have been able to find someone who didn't annoy her. That was proving more difficult these days. Not being able to go inside, she found a lot more people getting on her nerves.

Lex might have walked by maybe two or three shelves of books before spotting someone worth stopping to talk to. "Hey Charlie." She said, turning into that aisle and coming to a stop by the Ravenclaw. "Looking to get in some extra reading." Was she busy? No?

Using her wand to levitate one of the books upto a top shelf, Charlie was trying hard not to dwell on the fact that she was hating being cooped up inside. Using the hand that wasn't holding her wand, she drew her cardigan closer around her, and prayed that the cold either vanished soon, or at least didn't creep any further into the castle. It was bad enough that all the owls were gone, and being cooped up around the same people almost constantly meant that more than a few were beginning to get on her nerves.

Lex, however, wasn't one of them. Maybe because they didn't see each other too often, especially now that her and Jun.... Well, they weren't her and Jun anymore. "Lex. Hi." She managed, semi brightly, managing to at last get the book back into it's place. "I attempted homework. And I got bored." Shrugs were proffered, because it was understandable, right? At least now she had someone to talk to, right?

Lex stood by watching her levitate books back into their places. Was she helping Kitridge out? That had to be another level of boredom all to itself. Why anyone ever chose to be in the library was beyond her. There was the odd occasion she'd pop by when a topic she saw in defensive spells required further reading but it was still so limited because Mr. Takes The Rules Too Seriously Librarian wouldn't let her into the restricted section. Sad really and disappointing.

Homework though? Lex made a face. "I've given up on homework in protest of this being snowed in." Protesting to whom you may ask. Well she didn't know but really she just meant homework was the last thing on her mind when she wanted to go outside and consequently it didn't get done like it should. "I tried some Divi homework but ended up letting a Firstie do it for me." Drawing cards wasn't that hard but she rathered not being the one to do it.

"Funny how I only ran into you when there's nowhere else to go. Where have you been?"

"Giving up homework sounds like a pretty good plan." Charlie agreed, turning around and stowing her wand away after finally sliding the last book into place. "I'm putting books away as a form of procrastination, but... I don't know why I'm procrastinating." Nothing to procrastinate for, and nothing else to do, so she was resorting to tidying up after herself. If she kept up like this, the house elves and Mr. Kitridge would be out of a job.

Maybe that was what she was procrastinating in aid of - boredom?

Probably wasn't too unheard of. "I should probably try that some time." Getting a firstie to do it. Maybe she could get her 'buddy', Gwen, to. Somehow Charlie doubted it - she was far too clever for her own good, and a lot of other peoples. The older girl admired her for that.

Ah. "Common Room." She managed, sitting back down and pushing the seat opposite her out with her foot. Lex should sit. "But... I'm starting to get bored of being surrounded by the same people twenty four seven." The Castle suddenly seemed a lot smaller than usual.

For a moment Lex just stared at her. "That," She finally got around to saying, "has got to be the most Ravenclaw thing I've heard all morning." Procrastinating by putting books away? That would never do. Just look at how productive it could make you which defeated the purpose of procrastinating altogether. Someone should point this out, someone like Lex obviously. "If you were really looking to waste time you could have made piles and pyramids with 'em, maybe charmed some paper men and watch them move about them." She would have suggested a rousing game of bowling with the books but it might be too much for a start. Only teasing.

Lex followed her back to the table she'd been at and took the seat offered to her. "You really should. They can be quite useful once you force them to act like they have a brain. I just bribe them." There was enough candy in her back to go around and enough hexes in her wand for the non-compliant. Either way, she won.

"That, I can understand." Lex said, throwing her feet up on the chair next to her. "I need some new. The same people and the same walls every day are starting to wear me down." Monotony, it wasn't something she did well with. "Anything interesting happening up in the claw tower despite the same old people?"

SPOILER!!: Cassie

Though she wasn’t sure CeCe would let her in. She hadn’t been a part of the awful ordeal or in those meetings that were going on. She looked away still frustrated a bit over the situation. “Do they have any clue what attacked them?” Attacked, it had to be a creature in the forest, right? A wizard wouldn’t be in there, not in this weather, would they? She couldn’t figure it out, but knew whatever attacked them she couldn’t find, no visions, no readings, and that was bothering her. She should have been able to prevent this. So that worried her more if it wasn’t a creature, what was it? Her thoughts being distracted by her best friends voice she looked up again, “Yes, Cece is one of the best she will fix them. She has to.”

Forcing her beaming smile back at Nessa, no more negative, nope! They didn’t think that way, so it was time to get it out of their systems. She chuckled a bit, “How about co in charge!” She nodded, she had no reason to be the only one in charge, so why not share the responsibility with the bestie. It was just the perfect plan. “We can, maybe we could even get some students to help out a bit. Watch over the place and stuff.” It was a thought, she wasn’t sure which ones would be willing to help. Though so many were so sweet, there would have to be a few that were up her to study that could tidy up if Nessa or herself had a class going on.

Pushing a cart towards her section of the shelves, she removed the first book and moved towards where it needed to go. Letting go of it she watched it rise and go into place. Wasn’t magic wonderful for these sort of things. “Yes, I really do hope they are taking care of themselves. This weather is just awful. My tower is so cold, the charms are not working as much anymore. I might have to leave Gemini and Aries in your office or a space where it’s a bit warmer. Little darlings have their coats on and are still shivering.” She moved to let go of another book as it drifted to it’s place. “I’m thinking of holding my next class somewhere other than the tower. So students don’t have to walk so far.” She knew the seventh floor students wouldn’t have to, but she felt bad for the freezing slytherin walking all that way with their legs cold as it is.
Pushing her cart full of books, Nessa moved further into the rows of book shelves, talking to Cassie as she went, though she made sure to keep her voice down as she went. She wouldn't want to disturb any studious little souls working hard for their classes. "No.. no one does," she said, a touch of sadness in her voice. "Even the ones that witnessed it.. They weren't able to describe very clearly from what I understand." Must have been the shock of the ordeal and she certainly understood that. "And, not to doubt the skills of the healer.." Because she certainly did not, she knew she was very competent. "But I'm sure that makes it so much more difficult to treat them, not knowing what it is." Such a mystery and not in a good way at all like reading an exciting suspenseful story.

"Co in charge sounds fantastic!" she beamed at her friend before glancing at the spine of another book. Of course they could do this together! They'd get the library cleaned up and organized in no time and then it would be easy to maintain until Leo could return to his post. And she had complete faith that he would very soon. "That's a good idea," she nodded. "Maybe some of the older students.. prefects, even?" Though she wasn't sure, but something about a lot of them struck as different, not quite what she remembered prefects to be from when she was a student, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. "Or maybe some that we notice to be here a lot." She looked around the area. Certainly, if they were here a lot then they'd apt to be more likely to want to take care of it, right? Made sense to her anyway.

Once that book was back in its rightful spot, she picked up another. "It really is awful and no sign of it getting any better." She frowned as she sent the next book off to its place on the shelf. "It's nearly April.. and still blizzard-like conditions? That sees more typical of the Arctic Circle, not that I've ever been there," she chuckled at this, though it was still quite troubling. It was one thing to call it a bad Winter, but it really wasn't anymore. It was well beyond that. "Oh, goodness! Poor kitties! Of course they're welcome to stay in my office, though I'm not sure how much warmer it is in there. The charms don't seem to be holding up well but I do have the fireplace on quite a bit." That did help, even if she had to huddle right next to it at times. "Oh, I think that's a great idea.. maybe somewhere centrally-located so everyone had equal distance?" That sounded most fair and she was such a fan of fairness!

Homework time? Absolutely not.

Toby had pretty much all but exhausted most other means of entertainment in the castle now that they were locked in, but the place that remained pretty much unfrequented by him was the library. Not because he didn't want to come and check out the books. No, he enjoyed the idea of that very much, but it was just so impractical and also unlikely to try to make any plans to do some reading. That, and his incessant fidgeting and bouncing always seemed to make enough noise that it bothered other people, even if he hadn't realised at first.

But now he was here, and headed straight for the Quidditch section of books. This was one topic that could hold his interest for hours, even in book form. The only book Toby ever remembered reading cover to cover was his (now very battered) copy of Quidditch Through the Ages.

And there were so many more to choose from here. Books Toby had noticed before but never ended up taking out when the grounds were at his disposal. He stood in front of the shelves now, staring up at all the tomes about different Quidditch positions, gaze flicking from 'Chaser' to 'Keeper' to 'Seeker' repeatedly. Even as he stood there, Toby's knee was bouncing and he was chewing at one of his cuticles with vigour. Moving. Always moving. And yet still looking as upbeat and cheerful as ever.

Which book looks most interesting...?

Ooh, was that one about the Magpies?

Poor Mr. Kitridge.

Lux was - obviously - mostly worried about her boyfriend's welfare, but the librarian's condition was also important to her. Not only was he the Ravenclaw Head of House and the school's librarian, but he was a nice man. He was also the the person who had asked Bay to head out to the Forbidden Forest; but he had no knowledge of what would happen and so she felt no ill-will towards him where others might in her place.

Scanning the shelves at random, Lux tried to find something to read. Somehow or another she had ended up in the romance section. Not her favourite genre by any means, but she was definitely more open to it now than she had been previously. Picking up a book at random, she had to snort at the cover. Did they all have to show a shirtless man embracing a woman in a gown? And why did the men usually have long hair? While it looked good on some guys, Lux had to admit that she wasn't a huge fan of the look.

What if Bay decided to grow his hair out? The visual of it caused her to laugh which she quickly stiffled, remembering where she was. He was better off with his hair short, though she'd think him attractive no matter what he did.

Ana normally didn't come to the library to get books for pleasure reading. Generally she read the books that she had on hand, or owled a family member asking for a particular title if she didn't have it with her. Unfortunately she'd already read the books in her trunk a bajillion times and due to the weather couldn't owl any family members asking for more of them. That left her in the position of going to the library to look for something at least halfway decent to read.

Of course she ended up grabbing a book centred on Anne Boleyn. It wasn't really historical, seeing as it was one of those books that worked on the premise of Anne actually succeeding in giving Henry VIII a son but Ana figured it would still be pretty interesting. Hopefully. And if it wasn't at least she hadn't read it before. She still moseyed her way down all the other aisles though, just in case there was something in them that she might want to read. She wasn't holding her breath but it could happen. Although she was pretty sure she wouldn't find it in the romance section. Ana was going to skip it until she spotted a very familiar girl standing in the aisle and looking at a book while giggling.

So of course Ana had to mosey on down that aisle too. Because laughing Lux was adorable and because Ana hadn't seen her in quite a while and wasn't about to miss her chance to actually talk to her friend. Peeking over the younger girls shoulder at the cover of the book Ana raised an eyebrow in surprise before whispering, "Don't you think you're still a little young to be reading that?" Not that Ana could actually judge but the book did have a shirtless guy on the front. Which was quite overdone and tacky in her humble opinion.
