As you walk towards the Groundskeeper's Hut, two piles draw your attention: a big pile of wooden planks and a smaller one of stones. There are also construction tools and gadgets such as nails, hammers and drills. The weather is a bit chilly, but the Sun is shining and it's a good day for a surprise!
Your Professor, having taken a dose of Strength Potion, is waiting for you with a big smile and excitement. The Groundskeeper is nowhere to be seen.
Progress of the groups
First group (the stone carriers and fire-pit makers)
Cutty Mordaunt, Zander Adair, Kyroh Scabior, Marigold McAlistor, Kace Lecium, Grayson Whitlock (group leader), Kevin Hirase, Candice Messer, Hayden Malone, Tora Gallaway, Benjamin Atreyu
-Grayson Whitlock (hermionesclone) is named as the leader.
-The leader has suggested dividing into two sub-groups: 1. stone carriers and 2. fire pit builders.
-Cutty Mordaunt's brilliance in designing.
-The Leader explained again how to build it. The Professor approved of the plan.
-Amazing Kita is being amazing: the drawings of the plans
SPOILER!!: Bird's eye view
SPOILER!!: Side view
Second group (wooden plank carriers)
Leah Abbott, Angel Valentine, Sophie Brown, Elodie Robertser, Arista Royal, AJ Valentine, Ethan Mordaunt, Maddie Cooper, Coral-Bay Aldrich, Marcus Branxton, Cassia Somerlad
-Fighting with planks as the swords
-Mr. Mo: "We had some dueling earlier, and now I think we're going to try to see just how much load bearing we can actually do. You game for it?"
-RACE! Carrying first years on planks and RACING!
Third group (porch builders)
Tobias Tempus, Cris Strand, Sophie Newell, Lux Carrington, Victor Bay, Jasmine Guirdy, Aditya Rehman, Lucy Petersfield
-Victor Bay drew a plan.
-Professor suggested that there shouldn't be any roof and railings. The floor should also be wooden.
-Cris Strand has an idea approved by the professor.
-There are nails and hammers instead of spells.
-A reference post for how they are working
OOC notes
As I've already said, you need three posts doing building stuff (so drinking and RPing the effects of the potion does not count) for full credit. There is no maximum limit of posting, but there can only be so many stones and planks to be carried, so please keep IC reality in mind with post number too.
You can switch groups, you don't have to stick to just one.
The carriers don't really need my directions, but it'd be nice if the porch builders followed Cosgrach as he has a... radical design in mind.
It'd be helpful for everyone if you titled your post with the group.
You can join in the last day too - basically, anytime that suits you until 3rd of June, 23.59 GMT+1/19.59 EST+1.
The grading will be based on creativity. You are allowed to 'prank' your friends and stuff (*insert cool ideas here*) so that it's not a dull RP. But severe pranks IC will have IC consequences.
I'll update this post with the progress of the groups.
Lastly, I will post again tomorrow around this time. As it'll take me a day to post again, the builders may also begin 'building' as they wish.
What? Candy? Hayden liked the sound of that. She looked over at the boy (Kyroh) who she'd offered to help earlier. "Do you want to team up?" He was doing the spell too, wasn't he? If they were doing the same thing, it sorta made sense for them to team up. But it was alright if he didn't want to. She was just having fun building. It was a lot more fun when lifting the stones didn't take so much work, and she got to learn a new spell.
Hayden went back over to the pile of rocks and carried a big one back to the pit. She did that a few more times, putting the rocks in the separate piles. She decided that it would be easiest to build the outside layer of big rocks first, then the medium, and the small ones last. She brought a big rock over to where she'd already started building the fireplace. "Adhaero." She traced the outline of that rock and stuck it to the side of the others. Aaaand, it stuck! She was glad the spell wasn't too hard.
Hayden looked out to see where the rest of her group was. They weren't too far away, so she addressed them. "Hey guys, if you bring me stones I can stick them together." But then she remembered that they had to go in a circle, and it should probably look good. So Hayden looked around and found a stick. She traced a circle in the ground as an outline for the fireplace. There, that would help to put the rocks in the right places.
"You got it!" Cutty was being suspiciously co-operative today. Either that or it was part of his scheme to charm the first years. Afterall, they only had each other and Cassia Somerlad, but she'd be leaving next year. He went over to the bag and pulled out a three rather large stones with a heaving noise, as he tried to test the limits of the potion's effects. He then moved over to Kyroh and Hayden, who were sticking the rocks together, though he'd turned his body so that Candice would be able to see as well. "Hey kids! Look at this!", he began to juggle the stones. He was sort of bad at it either for skill or because the weight of the three stones was actually about where the potions limitations were. Nonetheless they did manage to stay in the air. Until he stopped juggling long enough to pile the rocks for adhesion near the wee Puff 'n Claw.

Tap. Tap.
Ethan grinned at the young boy and gestured towards where Cassia and Lex were standing. "Hi. We're doing a race, and we will be needing first years to dangle on our planks. Do you wanna hop on to mine or Cassia's?" Head Girl right there.
Ethan thought he'd look ridiculous dangling from Cassia's plank, but then again, here's a firstie dragging a plank across the yard when he could have fun dangling instead.
He almost dropped his plank in fright when someone tapped him on the shoulder. Huh? Plank race?
Dima was ALL FOR IT. Yeah! Ride wood to victory!
And he was just about to reply with a big ol' YES when...

She spotted Ethan trying to recruit him but that would go against her two kid strategy of looking more impressive.
"Hey Dima, wanna grab on to the other end of this and lemme dangle you to the finish line?" Yes, her, not Cassia who was being flocked by little people. Just saying.
Lex wanted him on HER board too? He wanted to say yes to the first boy who'd asked, but he was rather afraid that the Prefect might hex him like she'd done to that other boy in class. And Dima very much liked his ability to speak, thank you.
"Can I ride on yours next?" he asked the other boy, feeling slightly guilty. That guy could probably find a lighter first year anyway, right?
Not considering the fact that he was among the smallest of them. Ahem.
He dragged one last plank over and set it in place, then hopped over to Lex. Where did he dangle?

Was he coming or not and was the other girl going to hop on or not? The race was going to start and though these things weren't heavy, her shoulders were starting to feel sore. She doubted the potion was wearing off but just in case, they'd need to hurry.
Lex watched him actually yank another plank over to the pile before finally coming and she thought to question it but there was hardly any time so...she tilted the closer side of the plank to him and slumped a little for him to hang on. "Hop on. Think I might just have to carry you while Little Ms. Hufflepuff makes up her mind to hang on." She said, nodding toward the girl that had yet to grab hold.
Eh, didn't matter, she'd just...pick up a fourth plank to remedy this and so she did, lifting one end from the floor with her foot and raising it high enough for her hand to reach. Four.
NOW he could hop on.

They had finished building the porch but Cris wanted to do one last thing. Professor Culloden had said no roof and no railings, and that what they had done when building the porch, but Cris figured since there were still some extra pieces of wood, that he would build something else to add to the porch.
Sure the Groundskeeper wouldn't have a roof over his head when he was out on his porch and no railings to lean against, but he might still be able to sit in his chair and sip tea while lounging out in it.
....and that's what Cris sat out to do. He began stacking up planks and beams of wood in his arms all the way up until it reached the top of his head. Then sticking his head out from the side to make sure he didn't bump into anyone, Cris carried them over and placed them on top of the newly built wooden flooring.
First he built the table which was easy enough to do, as he first positioned the beams of wood vertically upright and planks of wood on top of them before hammering down nails into them, securing them into place.
Next was the chair. Cris again positioned beams vertically upright for the chair's legs and then proceeded to place the planks of wood on top of them, nailing them into place. Then he worked on the arms for the chair and once that was done, the back of the chair. Once everything was securely nailed into place, Cris stepped back to examine his work.
He first positioned the Table and then picked up the chair and placed it alongside the table.
Cris hoped the Groundskeeper would like his new porch and makeshift patio furniture. "Everyone, since we're done building the porch. I decided to make a chair and table for the Groundskeeper. Do you think that'll be okay?" Cris asked his fellow team mates.

He still felt like he needed to do more, so while Lex was doing weird stuff with her foot and a plank, Dima went and grabbed another one. HELPFUL, see? This way, he could get credit for doing work and STILL get to plank ride. Work and play, all in one.
The first year set down one more plank in place, bringing his total up to three of them dragged (WITHOUT help of the potion, awyeah), before running back to the Gryffindor Prefect on his little legs. His hands grabbed onto the end of her wooden board, and then Dima lifted his feet off the ground.
Let the racing commence! He HAD THIS.

Cosgrach noted Dima's presence, nodded at the boy and checked his watch. Time was almost up. Orsino would be here soon. He surveyed the area and grinned to himself. Ooooh, he would 'love' this!
"We've got 15 minutes or so, people," he announced loudly for everyone to hear. "Then, Orsino might come any moment." And see the mess and probably eat them all.
"So I suppose... last stones and planks. Then we're done. Thank you for working hard. He'll love it." He grinned at them mischievously.
OOC: I will have gone to bed by then, so I won't be able to call it time IC, but I will not accept posts exactly 1 hour 39 minutes later. Thank you for participating!

They were almost done? It was a good thing their fireplace was almost finished. Most of the stones were already in place, all she had to do was stick them together. "Adhaero." Hayden continued around the circle, tracing the shape of one rock and sticking it into place. There weren't many left. Luckily they'd been able to finish in the time-span allowed by the potion.
In between rocks, Hayden eyes Grayson. How would he know which team had worked the hardest? She shrugged and went back to sticking the stones together. She'd really like some candy, but she was having fun just doing the work. And that was a rare feeling for her.

EEK! Only fifteen minutes left?! Caleb just needed to help them with the stones a bit, and then he was sure he did enough for full credit. Using his super strength muscles, Caleb picked up a large rock and walked it over to the fire pit that was being constructed, placing it at the base again.
He then walked and got another rock, not as large as the first, and walked it back over to the pit, adding it on TOP of the row that they had started for the base.

It was almost time, and it looked like just about the last of the stones was in. He got down on his knees and drew out his wand to help Kyroh and Hayden with their task. "Adhaero!", he spoke the incantation and fastened the large rock, one after the other with the charm. He could almost taste Whitty's ham 'n cheese butties.
Now would probably be a good time to go and fetch that firewood.

But the goal was to take advantage of the spell. Lifting three planks of wood, Cassia approached Ethan. "Hop on," She could SO do it!
Well, apparently not ALL firsties were taken. Here was one who was still on the ground. Cassia smiled at the lil one. "Hey, what's your name, I'm Cassia," Might be good to have a little chat before hauling the girl up. "Would you like to wait till I drop off Ethan or hop on with him?" It'd be a bit crowded but she trusted that the potion could do it and if it was really hard she'd drop a plank. It's competition time!
Arista smiled, "My name is Arista! Cassia? Like Head Girl Cassia?"she questioned. Because if so that was sweet!! "Um Ill get on, which ever one is fine with me, so I guess its up to you then!" She pointed a small finger towards Cassia and smiled once more.
Hearing the Professor she pouted, "Guess that means that we can't do it. It looked like fun too!" She smiled around at the others, they had done some good work. The child eating Groundskeeper was going to love it!! Perfect to roast the children on.

Hayden didn't know he was talking to her at first, but she became aware about halfway through his question. At least she'd listened to what he was saying so he didn't have to repeat himself. "Grayson taught it to me," she said with a smile. It had been just a couple minutes ago, hadn't he been there? "The incantation is Adhaero." She pronounced it slowly and clearly - Ad-hi-row. "You have to trace the thing you want to stick, and them place it against the thing you want it to stick to." Had she explained that clearly?
Kace nodded at the first year and understood. He began to use the spell to help out. He traced the outline of the object he wanted to stick it to. The incantation was Adhaero... He could do this! He took out his wand from his robes and pointed the stone and traced the outline and then said confidently, "Adhaero!!" and then the stone stuck! Huh...well what do you know? It worked!
He smiled at the little first year and said, "Thanks for that!"
Cosgrach checked his watch. It was time to return to the castle!
"Okay, time to head back," he called out to them, "I'll leave him a note and say who worked here." And to prove his point, he brought out a paper and quill to write everyone's names down. Oh, never mind that he didn't know some of their names.
Ehehehe.
OOC: You can RP your characters out. When I have time, I'll post Cosgrach doing a few last things, and I'll play it as there are no students left. It is just to complete this small plot. Thank you, again!
Cutty shot up from his work and dusted himself off with his palms, not seeming to care just where the dust and dirt particles landed. Time was up. He stood back for a moment admiring their work. It was clearly a firepit, and one that looked functional even if it did look like little kids had built it. They had. With their own two hands. He'd have to ask Hapgood how Mr. Kirkby received it all later.
"Bye, Professor Culloden." He said before heading back to the castle.

Cris stopped what he was doing when Professor Culloden announced table it was time for them to leave. He walked up to the Professor with a smile on his face. "I hope the Groundskeeper will like what we've done, Professor," Cris told his Potions Master as he looked around.
"Thank you for allowing to test our potion in this way. Um...Professor, do you need help cleaning up?" Cris offered, seeing that there were some left over materials lying around.

...and they are done?
But...but PLANK RACING! Ethan eyed his team and gave them all a shrug. All good things must come to an end, yeah? And this is how you do homeworks! Props to you, Professor Culloden! The Slytherin tossed the plank in his hand to the pile and dusted himself.
It's tea time yeah?
And tea time meant food.
The Slytherin turned on his spot and headed back to Kirby's hut where he left his skateboard. "See you around, Professor!" Ethan waved to the Potions Master and left the grounds with his skateboard.
Swooooosssshh.

Awwww over already? Zander looked at the fire pit with absolute pride. AH beautiful! Maybe they could all come down here and roast marshmallows or something sometime? Groundskeeper permitting of course. Either way, hard work did pay off in the end.
With one last look at his group, he gave them all a way. "It looks great guys!" Then gathering his things... actually he didn't bring anything things. Except for his potion, which still had a little bit left over. So yeah, he took that. And started heading out. "Bye Professor," he shouted.
