As you walk towards the Groundskeeper's Hut, two piles draw your attention: a big pile of wooden planks and a smaller one of stones. There are also construction tools and gadgets such as nails, hammers and drills. The weather is a bit chilly, but the Sun is shining and it's a good day for a surprise!
Your Professor, having taken a dose of Strength Potion, is waiting for you with a big smile and excitement. The Groundskeeper is nowhere to be seen.
Progress of the groups
First group (the stone carriers and fire-pit makers)
Cutty Mordaunt, Zander Adair, Kyroh Scabior, Marigold McAlistor, Kace Lecium, Grayson Whitlock (group leader), Kevin Hirase, Candice Messer, Hayden Malone, Tora Gallaway, Benjamin Atreyu
-Grayson Whitlock (hermionesclone) is named as the leader.
-The leader has suggested dividing into two sub-groups: 1. stone carriers and 2. fire pit builders.
-Cutty Mordaunt's brilliance in designing.
-The Leader explained again how to build it. The Professor approved of the plan.
-Amazing Kita is being amazing: the drawings of the plans
SPOILER!!: Bird's eye view
SPOILER!!: Side view
Second group (wooden plank carriers)
Leah Abbott, Angel Valentine, Sophie Brown, Elodie Robertser, Arista Royal, AJ Valentine, Ethan Mordaunt, Maddie Cooper, Coral-Bay Aldrich, Marcus Branxton, Cassia Somerlad
-Fighting with planks as the swords
-Mr. Mo: "We had some dueling earlier, and now I think we're going to try to see just how much load bearing we can actually do. You game for it?"
-RACE! Carrying first years on planks and RACING!
Third group (porch builders)
Tobias Tempus, Cris Strand, Sophie Newell, Lux Carrington, Victor Bay, Jasmine Guirdy, Aditya Rehman, Lucy Petersfield
-Victor Bay drew a plan.
-Professor suggested that there shouldn't be any roof and railings. The floor should also be wooden.
-Cris Strand has an idea approved by the professor.
-There are nails and hammers instead of spells.
-A reference post for how they are working
OOC notes
As I've already said, you need three posts doing building stuff (so drinking and RPing the effects of the potion does not count) for full credit. There is no maximum limit of posting, but there can only be so many stones and planks to be carried, so please keep IC reality in mind with post number too.
You can switch groups, you don't have to stick to just one.
The carriers don't really need my directions, but it'd be nice if the porch builders followed Cosgrach as he has a... radical design in mind.
It'd be helpful for everyone if you titled your post with the group.
You can join in the last day too - basically, anytime that suits you until 3rd of June, 23.59 GMT+1/19.59 EST+1.
The grading will be based on creativity. You are allowed to 'prank' your friends and stuff (*insert cool ideas here*) so that it's not a dull RP. But severe pranks IC will have IC consequences.
I'll update this post with the progress of the groups.
Lastly, I will post again tomorrow around this time. As it'll take me a day to post again, the builders may also begin 'building' as they wish.

So whaaaaat was going on now?
Sophie had left to collect hammers and some nails, and once she was back, she had this feeling she'd missed so much. She paused and looked from person to person, listening to the conversation and trying to figure out what was going on.
Okay, so apparently the beams were being laid in their official positions now, so Sophie could start the hammering and nailing. "Here's some more hammers if anybody else wants to help," she said. Mainly Toby, since he didn't drink the potion. Sophie gathered a handful of nails and a hammer and knelt down next to the beams that were already in place. She positioned a nail in a good spot then starting hammering down on it. When that one was in, she did the same with a second nail.

While she was waiting to see if Kyroh needed help, Hayden lifted up another stone of her own and carried it over to the group. She was both multitasking so they could actually get it done, and kind of proving her strength. She'd taken the potion so she could be of help. While she was near the rest of her group she heard a couple people discussing the plan. "That sounds cool," she said. Though she didn't know what an antitheater or whatever was. It was the other part that excited her. "I want to learn the spell!" she jumped up and down with excitement. But then she stopped and considered it. "Unless you need me to carry stones." Maybe she could do both.

Cris smiled at Jasmine and then Lux as they came over to help Adit and him push the beams into the grass. "Hey there, grab a beam," he said to both of them before turning to Adi.
Placing a plank on top of the beams already inserted in, Cris then lay down on the ground to visually gauge whether the plank was lying slanted or straight. Satisfied that it was, Cris grinned over at Adi,"That's perfect, Adi. With everyone's help we should have these beams down and the planks on them really quick."
Then he watched as Lux pushed her beam in and so did Jasmine with hers. "Yay well done ladies," Cris congratulated the both of them. Then he walked over to the planks of wood and piling up a stack in his arms, he brought them over to where Adi, Jasmine and Lux were working.
"Here you go, you can use a plank to make sure that the beams are level. You can always adjust their heights by pulling them up or pushing down a little more." Cris showed them before leaving them to work on their beams.
Noting Professor Culloden's presence, Cris looked up at him waiting to hear his feedback. When the Potions Master said that they could continue with his plan, Cris grinned again, and quickly carried four beams over to where he was working.
As he placed two beams into position, Cris couldn't help but have some fun. Placing one hand on each of the beams, he leaned forward while spreading his legs a few feet away from the beams. He was now in a standing push up position.
"Hey look, this is another way to do push ups," he called over to his friends even as he flexed his biceps and pushed down on the beams. Push up and then down...Push Up and then down.
....and with each movement, the beams were pushed midway into the grass. Placing another plank of wood to ensure that the beams were level with each other, Cris placed more of the longer planks on top of the beams and lined them up properly.
Seeing Sophie and Toby holding hammers in their hands, he called out to them, "Sophie, Toby these planks are ready for you to attach to the beams. Hammer away.," he grinned at them as he stepped aside.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Okay so the laying of beams was going along just fine and now that Jasmine and Lux had joined in, Adi decided he would go help Sophie. Stuffing some nails in his pocket, he grabbed a hammer and headed over to some fixed beams and planks.
Adi hammered the first nail into the planks to secure the beams with ease and in a lot less time because of the potion. Maybe he should hammer in an extra nail or two just to be on the safe side. Adi did just that before moving on to the next plank.
That's when he noticed Cris. O_O Weird time to be exercising. "You make doing push ups look easy, Cris,'' Adi called with a grin.

A dragon had not been harmed in order for their potion to be made so it didn't bother her, but if it bothered Kyroh she wasn't going to make fun of him for it or anything. "Do you want some help?" The stones looked really heavy for him to be moving unassisted, but she wasn't sure if he wanted to accept help or do it all by himself. So she didn't make any move to help yet, but her offer still stood.

He was trying to move it. Cutty's stone face was soon home to a mouth, the corners of which were curling upward into a smile and he began boisterous laughter with a, "HA!!!"
Remembering the fine example, though, of Cassia Somerlad, his laughter soon relaxed. Kid was gonna impede their progress and hurt himself in the process most likely. Cutty gave this some thought as he went over to the bag and again drew out another stone for building the firepit. He moved it over to the site of their project where it joined the other he'd brought earlier. "You didn't take your potion? Okay. Let me talk to Whitty and see if we can't make yer a specialty duty."
Cutty returned the smirk when he'd seen Grayson be elected leader by Culloden. He knew it. He wasn't surprised at all as a matter of fact. Grayson was leadership material.
Coming to stand again near the little Ravenclaw boy (Kyroh), he offered up something else as well, "Oi Whitty, this kid didn't take his potion. Maybe he could make a good stone fuser instead of having to lift 'em." Cause you know, they kinda wanted to make PROGRESS. "We can teach him and another first year the sticking spell and let them fuse together the stones once they're laid by the builders." Cause that kid was gonna hurt himself and how would that look on Whitty's record in his first go at leadership at Hogwarts. Cutty was incapable of thinking about anything else but his own schemes and plans, apparently.
"Yeah! A big-bad amazing one that will be the firepit of Mr. Kirkby's life!" He gave this somewhat vague answer in reply to Graysons question. "We should make it tiered. So that he can cook multiple things with it all at the same time." He gave suggestions that he thought he'd find most useful. Not because he was considering Orsino, but because he himself was planning on using it from time to time.
"Oh! And maybe round in shape. And a bit sunken like an amphitheatre!" You know, nothing too...complicated?
Did he need help from Hayden? Er-Kyroh scratched his head. If she thought he needed help that meant he couldn't have been doing as good of a job as he thought he had been doing. Oops? "Okay! Sure!" The boy grinned, because why not accept help? Then he could do even BETTER.
One minute the other girl was there asking him questions and the next minute she was giving him hugs. WHICH HE DIDN'T MIND AT ALL! YAY HUGS! Kyroh squeezed back tightly. He didn't know what the hug was for but YAY. Lift a rock WITH him? That sounded sounded cool. They would lift together and then he would still be doing work. Did Hayden want to lift with them as well? Cause she said she wanted to help him too!
"I'm Kyroh." The boy said pointing to himself just because the new girl didn't seem to know his name."What's your name?"
He liked her. She gave good hugs!
He couldn't focus on that too much though because LOOK THE SLYTHERIN WAS LOOKING HAD HE SEEN HIM MOVE THE STONE!!!??!?!? He even tried pushing it again just in case he hadn't seen.
Kyroh was excited again until the boy started laughing.
....But he have moved it.
"Special duty? Okay." Before he could even wonder what kind of special duty the boy started talking about fusing rocks and stuff and learning MORE spells and that just sounded pretty awesome.
"YEAH Whitty you can teach Hayden and I the sticking spell!" Because Hayden wanted to learn too and-wait....who was Whitty? Did he mean Grayson? Kyroh didn't even know. He just grinned.

Laying beams into the ground was so EASY because she had taken the strength potion. Lux was eager to get more placed. After that, maybe she could help with the nailing if more needed to be done.
Grabbing another beam, she placed it onto the ground vertically before pushing it down into the grass. Trying her best to keep everything even, she stopped at what she figured to be the best depth and used the plank as a level. Her beam was still a little high, but after a few minor adjustments, the plank laid straight across.
Making her way over to grab another beam, Cris caught her attention. Was he seriously exercising right now? "That's one way to get things done," she called out before bursting into laughter.

He had to get to Grayson since Professor Culloden had named him as their group's leader. So he grabbed a stone from the supplies, much easier because of the potion, and headed over two where group one seemed to be gathering. "So...the firepit...how's it gonna be?" Like how big and rough shape?
Could they decide and actually do it?

"And I think we should make it a medium, more on the larger size? That way he could do a lot with it," Besides they had a pretty big group so there'd be more than enough people to make that happen.

Just when Cutty thought he was at the pinnacle of spreading chaos and insanity, the voice of reason or Caleb Newell (whichever comes first) made itself known.
But he didn't say they shouldn't or even couldn't proceed with the current BIG!idea project. Only that it should be quality.
It would be. Oh, it would be.
Some great ideas were coming along. Really. Grayson was actually impressed and this didn't happen often.
He nodded slowly as his blue eyes shifted from Cutty to Zander to the new kid (Benny) -- who got a genuine smile and nod as a way of welcoming him to the group -- to some other guy he didn't know (Caleb) and then back to Cutty. Jeez, so many ideas and all tumbling off so quickly. Let a dude catch a break.
It was making him think. Think CAREFULLY because he did NOT want this to go wrong, thank you very much. They were the coolest group and they were going to prove it by making the BEST firepit, mkay?
"OKAY," Yes, he was speaking up. "So heeeeey!" New person. (Benny) "I think the general consensus is that we make it as big as possible because the bigger the better," OBVIOUSLY. "And to make it into an amphitheatre shape." High walls and sunken in in the middle. He glanced around at the others to see if they agreed too. Speak now or forever hold your peace. As for strong person (Caleb's) question, Grayson turned his attention to him and said, "WELL. If it's round, it'll be harder to be broken. Something to do with surface area and strength and whatnot." He waved a hand to show that he clearly knew what he was talking about but wasn't going to bother explaining properly. Basically, circles were better.
"ANYWAYS. To make it EVEN STRONGER, maybe we could build it up so that there are even numbers of different size rocks? We can line up the big ones side by side and then fit the smaller ones in the gaps. And sticking charms will be our best buds." Uh huh. "And the stronger looking rocks can go on the OUTSIDE. The really heavy ones." It was a bit like multiple people trying to shield the weakling. The weakling went in the middle, some namby pamby people surrounded that one and the strength in the circle of people grew stronger and stronger until the STRONGEST were at the outside.
Also, the sooner they got this talk over and done with, the sooner they can start with assembling. JUST SAYING.

....................... Oh jeez. Someone hadn't taken their potion? Oh Merlin, what was he meant to do NOW?!
It seemed as though Cutty had an answer. His blue eyes looked over at Kyroh and Hayden and he nodded slowly. Uh huh. This tied in WELL, actually. He was going to be leaving the FIYAH people to discuss and maaaaaaybe get started if they wanted to go ahead with his plan, mkay?
In the meantime, he rolled up his sleeves and said, "Okay, come here, you two." Special force people. "I'm going to teach you a really useful spell that you can use to stick two objects together: like a bow to a gift box." Or to secure that piece of gum in your arch enemy's hair. "The incantation," he continued, pulling out his wand, "is Adhaero. Adhaeeeeeero. Ahd-high-row!" Uh huh. "The wand movement is tracing whatever you want sticking with your wand while saying your incantation."
Oh jeez. This could be confusing. "Here. If we want to stick this little bugger," He grabbed a small pebble and held it up. "with that big rock over there," He nodded at a very large rock not too far away. "we trace the outline of this tiny rock while saying Adhaero. Then, we go and smack it against that big rock to see if it sticks. Make sense?"
So, the builders had a plan and were working effectively. Cosgrach beamed at everyone of them.
"Great job, guys, thank you," he said at them and even laughed at Cris for being funny - before his attention was on what The Leader was saying to Benny. He even walked towards them a little to hear better.
...
"Perfect, Leader!" he exclaimed, "I approve of this plan so much. Thank you, group number one, for coming up with a great one." He grinned at them as well. So this was his approval and 'okay' to go with this plan.
And he didn't hear Kyroh part at all. Lucky for the boy.

She was observing. That and waiting for the potion to take effect. Which she supposed it did! Well, she could only tell by trying to lift something .... or someone ? There was a tiny firstie running by her. Cassia contemplated the idea but the tiny person was fast and got further before the seventh-year could decide. And maybe it was better. No need to test her strength on fellow students. Not before she was sure at least.
Clapping her hands together, the blond scanned the area that now filled with active and mighty hogwartians. Which group to join. All groups looked like they were having fun and enjoying themselves. But she had to choose one, decisions were hard!
Did she hear Pirates cries? Yes she did. Her head turned in the direction of the sound and she decided that she wanted to JOIN THOSE! Yes, her fondness for the piracy stuffs. She might just become a pirate after graduation! Yeah, no, seven years of education would be a waste then.
Walking up to the group, Cassia recognized some of them. Elodie, Coral-bay, Mo! Others she knew by sight. "Hey, guys, got a place for one more?" She said with the best smile she could muster. What if they decided they wanted no more. Her ego might get a lil bit wounded but she'd survive. Or maybe she could just flash her badge in their faces or something!
Anyway, what were they doing ? Racing with planks of wood?! COOL!

Heeeeey Gold, we see you!
The Gryffindor was almost beginning to think his wish to just work was making him invisible to people. Or maybe just his short stature. But then it seemed he had finally caught someone's attention. "Hey..." Benny returned, catching the greeting sent his way as well as the smile and nod previously. So they were getting down to real business now, the third year listening intently to what was being discussed.
The bigger the better.
Okay, Benny could go for that. The better to control a fire that could be as big as a bonfire if one wanted it to be. Amphitheater shape? He paused in thought with a frown trying to decipher what it meant. OH?! High walls and deep inside. A light bulb went off and he nodded in agreement as Grayson continued on with his thoughts about using big rocks with smaller stones in between and sticking charms securing it all in place.
"Sounds like a plan..." the Gryffindor mused. Ready to get started, he already had a rock already in hand.

Ethan. Got it. Mo gave the boy a thumbs' up, although he was still trying to work through everything he'd said. Ethan talked a LOT. Did he know? Was he aware? Mo used to talk a lot too, and he hadn't even realized it for ages and ages.
"Nice to meet you too." He jogged back to the pile and scooped up another arm full of planks, following Ethan's lead. Point A to B seemed pretty easy, but the showing off part? That seemed like she should be having a lot more fun. "Bet I can carry these planks AND Maddie. Can you carry those planks AND someone?"

As Mo got welcomed by the rest of the group, she went back to watching and relaxing and secretly spying on the other groups. Tobes was over yonder with the porch-builders, talking to Culloden - she smiled at that, but had no idea what was going on with them - and she spied the future dark wizard Cutty in the other group doing the whole stone-carrying and fire pit-building thing. She watched him from afar for awhile, totally not subtle at all, and looked between him and Tobes every now and then with a frown on her face.
Made her sick to her stomach.
Or maybe that was the potion churning in her stomach.
It brought her back to the present, though, and she hopped back to her feet, just in time to hear Maddie declare a race. She was pretty much situated directly between the porch area and the plank pile, so she had no chance to not be the last one and opted out. Good thing she did, too, because CORAL-BAY ALDRICH HAD JOINED THEM. "See-Beeeeeeee," Soph grinned when she saw who nudged her. "We're plank-carriers. A bunch of nutters, but all in good fun. Our job is just to carry the wooden planks from the pile there to the back of the hut where another group's working on building a porch."
Still smiling, she let her dormmate have a moment to down her potion - gross stuff, she knew - before nudging her gently, "M'gonna embarrass you." Just a brief warning before she launched into, "HEY COOL KIDS OF THE PLANK-CARRIERS: if y'don't know, this is Coral-Bay Aldrich. She's super cool - obviously, 'cause she's joining the cool group." Sophie was looking pointedly at Mo and Elodie, two people she definitely wanted CB to meet.
"Soph." Mo was fully expecting her to run over and give him a cuddle, and then she didn't. SHE DID NOT. That just hurt him right down to his soul, it did. Mo waved lamely at her again, like maybe she didn't see him. Short term memory loss? Remember your Mo friend?
REMEMBER?
"Hey, Coral-Bay," Mo smiled and waved at the new addition to their group. Someone would be friendly. "Grab a plank and jump right in. We're just moving them over to the builders."

"Can you REALLY carry me on a plank? Do you think that after maybe I could carry YOU? I AM feeling quite strong, y'know." The twelve year old held up her arm to showcase her SERIOUS MUSCLES and looked to Mo for a reaction. SEE, MO? SEE HOW STRONG?
To PROVE her strength, Maddie went and grabbed THREE planks this time. YUP, THREE. She wobbled a bit but NOT because they were heavy, because carrying planks threw her balance off a bit. Shifting the planks, she heard that Sophie person introduce someone new to group. THE COOL GROUP. She could learn to like that title VERY much.
"Hi Coral-Bay person." HELLO. WELCOME. GET TO CARRYING SOME PLANKS.
Impressive little buddy, carrying THREE planks. Mo saluted the little sprog as she raced past again. "I can really really carry you. Come grab one end of these planks and I'll give you a ride across the yard." And if she wanted to carry him... well. That actually made Mo a little nervous, but he just smiled broadly and nodded.
"You can carry me next round, then."

COOL!
"Hop in, Cass. We don't stand on traditions here, so there aren't any really particular ways to go about it. You take a plank, you carry it over to that new pile there." Mo waved at the Head Girl to get her attention and pointed out the piles. Old pile. New pile.
Easy as pie.
"We had some dueling earlier, and now I think we're going to try to see just how much load bearing we can actually do. You game for it?"
Then the Professor gave them more instruction and pointed Grayson as their leader? Well, she hoped that the older Slytherin boy had a brain that could matched his look. Grayson said they're going to be divided into two small groups, stone carries and fire pit builders. Since she's not much a builders so she gonna sticked with the first one. But it seem there's so many people in the stone carrier division so she just gonna joined the FIYAH people (Kace and Zander) "Let's go make some FIYAAAAAH, people." Excited first year here. "And, I'm Candice." Just in case they missed her introduction earlier.
Oh and look at it another person (Caleb) who wanted to join the group. "The more the merrier." Right, Mr. Leader?
Kace was listening to Grayson's directions and nodded. Then he noticed the little gryffindor introduced herself. "Hello Candice...I am Kace! Glad you could help us build the fire pit." he smiled towards her. But now onto planning. "Do you have any ideas how to build it?" he asked for her input.
Then he heard the professor answer his question and he nodded in a thank you. At least the wood was previously chopped. He heard the idea to make the fire pit big to have a big fire. It seemed logical. "So what I was thinking is making the wood in a form of a teepee shape.." he said going inside the pit and making the fire wood in the shape of a tent."GRAYSON WHAT DO YOU THINK!?" he asked him. He nodded towards the wood formed in a teepee shape.

Was she late?
YUP. Reeeeally late and she'd have liked to blame someone else or even her kneazle but really she'd just stopped by the kitchen first. It wasn't for anything heavy, just a drink but it still slowed her down...because she might have stopped to have a word with the House elves too. Lovely little creatures they were, especially when they started offering cookies. She did like cookies.
But of course now she was here to work and could see that some had already gotten started. Oh Merlin just how late WAS she? Lex stood there for a moment, not sure what activity she was meant to join--hang on, this was heavy duty kinda work. It made sense for the Professor to have mentioned the potion now and the Gryffindor fished around in her robe until she'd found hers. There was a quick gulp and a moment to get over the dizzy feeling before she proceeded to have another look around.
CASSIA!!
Well that settled that. Lex walked over to the group with planks, not thinking to question it, she stood next to the bestie and looked around with a wide grin. "SO. What're we doing and how can I help?"

So that other Slytherin kid (Caleb), the one with the hair, didn't like the ampitheatre thing? Zander just looked over at Cutty and gave him a shrug. "Yes, bigger IS better!" he agreed. Especially for Mr. Groundskeeper because a roomy fire pit is better than a cramped one. Yep, yep.
Then Zander turned his attention to Mr. Leader (Grayson) as he joined in. YAY! He approves of the layered BIG idea. Air highfives to Cutty and Zander. HA. Totally do able Mr. Hairguy, seeeee? And if Grayson's approval wasn't enough, Culldoden approved too! He approves the plan SO MUCH. AH YAY! Now they could finally getting started on the building the FIYA STUFF.
"I think stones should be put into separate piles so that we can do that whole staggering-layering thing Grayson's talking about," mmhmm Zander had ideas toooo. "How about small stones go here," he said pointing in a general area. "Medium ones here, and the larger ones here?"
Then they could start an assembly line of sorts and get to making one nice FIYA PIT!

Cris chuckled on response to Adi and Lux's comments when they had seen him doing push ups. What was work without a little play right? And with that Cris first placed a beam into the grass, pushed it down a little before hopping onto it. Raising one foot up high in the air , he lifted both his arms like they were wings and assumed the Crane position.
"Hey Jasmine, high kicks," Cris called out to Jasmine, as he quickly kicked out with the foot he was standing on, for a minute second switching standing foot, before landing on it again. With each landing, Cris pounded the beam deeper and deeper into the grass.
"This potion is awesome, Professor," Cris told his Potions Master as he walked past their group to assess their work. Cris was glad when their group received a nod of approval from the Professor. Jumping off the beam, he measured its height before placing another plank of wood on it.
As the team worked together planting the beams, placing the planks of wood on it, and then hammering and securing them together with nails, Cris was glad that he had the opportunity to work with a great bunch of people. Teamwork always got the job done faster.

They had new members, and one she recognized as her very own prefect. "Hey Lex." The other girl was obviously older, and AJ didn't recognize her. "Hello." Were they going to sword fight? The first year turned to Ethan to see if he was still up for some more sword fighting, but something else caught her attention. They were racing now, and AJ wanted in on that actiom.
She zoomed off to grab 4 more planks. Yup, she was super strong and she was going to take advantage of it while she could. "I wanna race toooo." Without hesitation, she took off while the planks wobbled in her hands. There were no way that she would win considering that everybody had already started, but she was being a trooper nonetheless.
She made it to the plank pile and deposited her load. More, did they need more because AJ could totally get more.
"Okey-dokey, AJ." What did the J stand for? Leah did not ask the little girl. She was having a bit of hard time telling the two girls apart now. "All good things, yep." Angel saying how much she loves her sisters and all the sisters stuff. Then AJ went for a sword fight, and the second year watched them fight.
Then she turned to the little Ravenclaw girl. "Hi Maddie. Good idea. A competition." she would definitely participate in that. But not before she had a little bit of chat with her honorary sister. Staggering a bit, Leah said, "O-of course I can manage this." A mischievous smile crept up the second year's face. "Uh, wait. Let me go through my list." And she really did go through her list of spells she knew, muttering a few. "Ah I think it's Reducio. I'll let you try that out yourself." 'Cuz she was not sure herself and she did not know how AJ would respond to the mischief.
More people were joining in, and in the confusion Leah heard someone calling her name. It was the um a bit weird Slytherin dude sword-fighting with Sophie. "Hi Ethan." she kinda remembered him sitting at their table in the start-of-term feast and thinking they were Smithereens. "Uh, good luck with the sword-fight!" she said. As Maddie yelled about the competition, she followed his directions and ran off to drop the planks down near the porch builders. Nope, she did not want to be a bumbling billywig. Her arms felt much lighter without the planks. An older guy was actually admitting that he was a bumbling billywig!
Jogging back and bending down to grab another four planks, Leah said to a Gryffindor prefect, "Hi. I don't really know what we are doing, but we're carrying planks." There, she answered.

SPOILER!!: Mo, Cassia, Lex and Coral-Bay
Hi.
“Of course I can!” Ethan grinned at Mo. Did he know that the griffin claw in his potion was crushed finely and made his potion extra strong? “Want me to carry you?” He’s bigger, sure but he can definitely do it. He did step back though when he heard Coop ask the same question to the older boy. That, my friend is what he wanted to see.
Or how about those two badged girls over there. “I can carry you both while you carry planks.” He said as he approached Cassia, and waved at the badged lion girl (Lex). Hi, person. Hello.
Distracted, Ethan turned to Eagle Sophie and waved at the newcomer. Hi Coral-Bay Aldrich. “Cool name!” the Slytherin called out, got a plank and approached the other Ravenclaw. “Aldrich? That’s my uncle’s first name.” the third year nodded and offered her a plank. “I’m Ethan. Hi!” The boy looked at her then to the plank he was offering. “Sorry. I should be offering you my hand and not a plank. Haha!” Ethan grinned and offered his hand for a shake.

Jasmine was starting to get the hang of this beam laying thing. Picking up a new beam from the pile, she easily drove it into the ground and kept pushing until she thought it was at the proper depth. Grabbing a plank and laying it atop the beam to verify her placement, Jasmine realized it was a bit off. She needed to push the beam a bit lower into the ground to make it even with the rest. Laying the palm of her hand on the top of the beam, she gently pushed it down. Nothing like a good strength potion to get the job done. Checking once more with the plank, Jasmine felt that everything was lined up properly.
Just as she finished with her beam, Jasmine heard her name being called. Looking up, she saw Cris going all Karate Kid on top of his beam. Shaking her head, Jasmine couldn't help but laugh. "Nice kick Daniel-san", she said, knowing that her movie reference would probably be lost on Cris. "You never cease to amaze me with your skills." Standing up, Jasmine walked over to get another beam. Now that the workers had developed a kind if rhythm, things were moving along nicely.

"We had some dueling earlier, and now I think we're going to try to see just how much load bearing we can actually do. You game for it?"
She didn't need to be told twice. Nodding to Mo's words, Cassia's eyes darted to the two piles Mo mentioned. "Got that!" Sounded easy and non complicated. She was glad she picked this group.
And did she miss the dueling? Apparently.
Was that a challenge? Whether it was or was not the seventh-year got all geared up about it. The potion was responsible for the physical part but it was all her being pumped otherwise. "Count me in," she said crouching by the old pile and lifting two planks up. She figured she could start with two for now and see how many she could manage.

Ooh, Ethan the musical. Cassia flashed a bright smile at the fellow Slytherin. At first he looked a little bit out of place with the wood planks and not his musical instrument but it probably was the fact that she had that impression of him, being the musical boy. "That's the spirit," She commented on his statement. "I could say the same, you know," Of course only because she had gulped that potion down. And she supposed it was the same for him as well.

Cassia wanted to flail to draw the gryffindor's attention but that was kind of hard seeing that she had two planks of wood. And waving with them didn't seem like the smartest and safest idea. You wouldn't know whose head might get knocked while she attempted to wave with those. But hey, she didn't have to, her bestie already spotted them. GOOD! She had a good pair of eye, this lioness did.
"We're moving planks from this pile to that one," she answered repeating Mo's words but in gist. "And seeing how many one can load!" She added. Wouldn't that be Lex's fav part. "See you on the other side," She said with a grin before starting jogging with the two planks of wood.
Which was hard, mind you. She might or might have not slowed down a couple of seconds later.

Oh hey one of the little lions was joining this group too! "Sup Aubrey." She was Aubrey, she was. Even if she and her sisters were pulling off that carbon copy thing they sounded different and talked different too. "You ready for some real weight lifting?" She asked, looking around at all the planks left on this side. If she had to guess they'd be carrying them....now that they were done hitting each other with them. Sigh. She missed all the fun.

Ohai little person she didn't know. Lex gave a nod to the girl's 'hi' much too fascinated with the four planks she was now prepared to lug. Her brain was having a bit of a delay and she'd forgotten the whole strength potion thing. It was neat. "So then...we're just gonna lug 'em from point A to point B. Doesn't sound too hard. This one right here, this one was presh. "Might have to take you up on that after we've gotten done." As fun as it sounded, she bet Collarbin was watching and they needed to look like they were doing something constructive...or maybe not if they'd been plank-fighting as she'd come to learn. "I'm Lex by the way, and you are?"

Lex casually slumped over leaning against Cassia who'd decided to give her the proper story on how this was going to work. Seeing how much they could load? Like a test of strength and will?? "DONE." The Gryffindor was completely on this and Cassia's challenge regarded the other side. How many did Cassia have? She couldn't probably beat it.
Two planks? She could do better!!!
Wanting to be a true Gryffindor Lex yanked 4 from the pile and threw them over her shoulder ready to dart after Cassia when another voice from the top of Mo's pile caught her attention.

"HI!" Had to keep the enthusiasm going here. Couldn't give a dead beat greeting after the one she'd just gotten. "Having fun up there?" And a look to Mo who was obviously showing off with that new found strength. "Gimma a sec." She said, hurrying after Cassia who she'd assume would have been to the other pile by now. This was a race afterall.

Shaking her head in amusement at Cris, Lux went about getting another beam. There was still time to do some hammering unless the others wanted to do that on their own, and more beams would be good for the porch. Turning the beam vertically, she rested it on the grass before driving it into the ground. With this potion, she was sure that she could have done this a thousand times without getting tired.
When the beam was at a certain depth, she checked it with a plank and saw that it was a little further down then needed. No problem. With a smile on her face, she pulled it out of the ground a little. There, much better.

Sophie stood up and brushed off her knees. If this wasn't for class credit, she'd in no way be doing this. She just wasn't one to help somebody for free. Especially somebody that needed a whole porch built for himself. She smirked at Cris doing the push ups. She'd get involved, but really, she was just ready to get this built and done with.
Hearing her name, Sophie turned and headed over to where the newly laid planks needed nailing together. She fished a few nails out her pocket and got back down on her knees. She positioned the first nail in place then began hammering away. She did the same thing with another pair of planks before looking up to the group as a whole.
"How much more beam laying do we have to do?" she asked. They should be about done with that part. "Are we about ready to start on the actual porch?" Or had somebody started on that when she was down on her knees hammering away?

It was very noticeable when Maddie grabbed hold of the planks, not because she was heavy but because his planks tipped up in the air on the far end. Mo gave Maddie a shake and a grin before taking a long moment to figure out how to redistribute the plank-and-Maddie weight to keep going.
"You're on. I'm going to the pile, and then you'll hop off. I'll run, 'cause we're racing, but I promise not to drop you. Okay?" Okay.
