The Badgers sit under a brand new gold and black banner representing their house. Their solid, shiny wooden table is nicely polished with all the place settings perfectly set. It was once said that the Hogwarts House Elves are the best in the world. It is up to your stomach to agree... but surely it will! Why wouldn't it like elf cooking?
If you're thirsty, there is also fresh pumpkin juice and water on the table, regardless of whether or not it is actually mealtime.
Toby shook his head, but he was smiling all the while. They could go back and forth like this all day, insisting that it was THEM who didn't deserve the OTHER, but Tobias was aware that Sophie would stubbornly argue with him all day long if she wanted. He didn't respond to that part, but Sophie would (hopefully) realise that Toby still stood by what he said, whilst being very aware that she was doing the exact same.
"I know that," he finally said, when she mentioned letting her try to help. "It's just... easier to deal with it like that, y'know? I don't like anyone seeing me... in that state." Toby was careful not to outright say the word 'sad', finding himself having just as strong an aversion to the concept as ever, which was no surprise. He still couldn't help but feel guilty though; Soph wanted to help him, but... well. Coming out of hiding and being around people on those days was easier said than done.
But that was over now, and he was back with his best friend again, and everything was cool. He even got a little kiss, which made him grin like a fool.
"I'm glad too," he nodded, using another slice of toast to scoop up eggs and mushrooms and raising it to his lips. "Any plans for today?" Toby asked, before taking a bite of his food. Changing the subject? Well, yes. But it was more that the Hufflepuff was eager to actually, y'know, do something. He was still curious about that room Soph had told him about.
As he all but crammed the bite of his breakfast into his mouth, Toby of course couldn't miss the sound of his and Soph's names being spoken. But in, like, a teacher sort of way. He started slightly, not taking the time to realise just whose voice it was (more worrying that perhaps they were in trouble for some reason), and span around in his seat, eyes widening.
Oh. Ohhhhh. Okay. Cool.
At once, Toby looked relieved, and swallowed his mouthful of food so he could talk.
"Merlin, you made me jump." ........ What was that LOOK on his fa-... oh. Right. Toby looked between Thompson and Soph and back to Thompson again. Oh man, that look. "Uh-huh, most important meal of the day, after all."Squint.
For some reason, Toby suddenly had the feeling that Thompson would be to him as Culloden was to Sophie. Kind of. Maybe. Play it cooooooooooooooool.

His brisk walk lessened as he noticed certain students being quite close at the Hufflepuff table. The location not being a surprise to him, but rather on who was engaging in the close contact. His walking ceased, as he turned to face the two now.
One of his eyebrows quirked upward, particularly his left one that had a small missing patch of hair, but no matter. His eyes were now on them as the Ravenclaw girl kissed the Hufflepuff after some embracing. Didn't even have to hear their conversation to pick up on the scenario. His lips threatened to curve at the sight, whether it was of approval, amusement, or the opportunity at hand here, well, there was only one way to find out, "Miss Brown.. Mr. Tempus.. enjoying a nice balanced breakfast together?" Especially on the together part, heh.
Sophie squeezed Toby's hand under the table in encouragement and gently leaned into him, nodding along as he spoke. "I know. S'okay." She didn't entirely understand Toby's condition, or whatever he wanted to call it, but she wanted to try to understand and help as much as she could. And for now, if it would help him best to leave him alone when he was in "that state," then she'd comply.
Just as long as he knew she was always there for him.
Sophie wasn't eating anymore, though she'd previously been starving and hadn't eaten much yet, and instead she was focusing all her energy on Tobes. "Dunno. Hoped to... spend as much time as possible with you?" To make up for lost time and all that? "But I've been pretty good at keeping myself busy, if you've got set plans." Busy laying in random corridors and exploring places she hadn't been to since her first term and generally being bored out of her mind.
...A professor.
Soph turned, squinting in suspicion as she did so, but relaxed at the sight of Thompson. Oh. Good. She shot a glance to her food and let Tobes answer first before replying herself. "As always, sir. Where's Professor Fuller today?" she smiled innocently, her expression puppy-like and bright. "Don't you two have some fun planned for the day?" Didn't they always?

"Good, good.." Everyone knew how important having a balanced meal was. A hot one at that, as Javy's eyes also took in eggs, toast and other delectables. Though he probably wouldn't admit how concerning it was to him on this being one of the few ways to keep his students warm, unless asked nicely enough.. "You two have gotten quite cosier together since the last time." And not just from the freezing cold, there would be quite a difference in the body language if that were so.
Hm? Was there something in the young Tempus' eyes as he was now squinting? Perhaps some of the falling snow was getting to him as he frowned a little. No, no that won't do at all, taking his wand out to correct it, "Impervius." There, that should clear his vision up better.
Oh, the young Brown with her personal questions. That was perfectly okay as it didn't breech the limitations. "Mm, I'm not sure on his current whereabouts. I'd imagine he's preparing another interesting lesson for you all." Now on the why. "Did you have a question for him?" Planned fun, "You could say that.." It was one of the ways to describe it. "Maybe not as much fun as you two seem to be having at the moment. You two have anything exciting planned for the rest of the day?" Such as hot cocoa and poetry reading by the fire. Were kids still that cute now adays, Javy didn't know.

Toby sat there quietly for the moment as Soph and Thompson exchanged... pleasantries? Banter? Words, in any case. And the Impervius charm that the professor cast on his face was... good. That was good. Confusing but good. Thanks for that, sir. Toby just went ahead and smiled his thanks and didn't even question it.
At the question as to what they planned on doing that day, Toby grinned all the wider. He set his fork down on his plate and turned around, all the better to face Professor Thompson.
"Well," he said, giving Sophie a glance as he spoke. "There's this room I wanna find, where we might be able to make the inside kinda like outside. I was hoping Soph would be able to show me where it is." The Room of Requirement, that was. Toby had known about it for a while, but still hadn't found it. Sophie had mentioned it before, and now Toby was enthusiastic about checking this room out. He looked at her again to see if she was okay with that. And if that plan didn't come to fruition? "We'll probably spend the day hanging out together, for sure."
Make up for the past week, but Toby didn't mention that.

They'd gotten cosier? Well. Yes. They most certainly had, hadn't they? Sophie gave Thompson a cheeky grin at that and lifted her hand that was holding Toby's so the man could see. Like she was showing it off. Though, really, the man couldn't entirely infer that the two were now an item since they always used to hold hands before when they were "just" besties, too. But. Hehe. She was certain the professor could tell the difference.
Soph lowered their hands and snorted a little at Thompson casting Impervius on Tobes and shrugged innocently as his question posed to her. "I just thought you two did everything together these days. You're the best of friends, aren't you?"
So pesky. So unashamed. Though, so far, Fuller was considerably more fun to pick on. He was far more flustered with things than Thompson was.
THE ROOM OF REQUIREMENT! "Yessssss, I'll show you." The professor could come, too, if he wanted, but he'd have to bring Fuller along, too. They were like their long lost cool uncles. "Yay," she added quietly with the biggest smile at the suggestion of spending the day together. That was a nice thought. Mmm. She missed her Tobes and gave his hand a squeeze to wordlessly let him know she was happy to be with him. So relieved.
Kaiden was sick and tired of being cold. Even with spending 6 out of the last 7 winters here in Scotland, the South Carolina native was just not used to it being so cold. It never ever really snowed at home, and now, in the middle spring, Hogwarts was freezing over, and it was even snowing inside.
The snow falling in the Great Hall was exactly the reason the Hufflepuff prefect was sitting at the table with the quilt off of his bed pulled over his head. “Would you stop it already?” he grumbled and glared up at the ceiling before taking a huge sip of his coffee.

Even though Olly WAS - unlike Kaiden - used to cold weather, she was still cold. This blizzard was unlike anything she'd ever experienced. Plus the fact that they were hence locked inside, unable to leave the castle, didn't exactly lift her mood. Any planning she'd have liked to do for what to do after Hogwarts had been put on hold too. No letters. She couldn't even ask how her family was doing.
At least her girlfriend was here in the castle with her. That was something at least.
Sitting at her house table, holding a cup of hot tea, Olly had in fact noticed the person wrapped in a blanket. But hadn't really shown any interest. Lots of people did that. And while she was quite close to the person, she couldn't make out their face from that angle. Not that she cared.
....that is until the person spoke. Hello Kaiden.
"I doubt it can hear you." Or understand him really. She moved a little closer to him on the bench and reached out to tug on the quilt to get the boy's attention.
Leah walked up, further away from the dungeons and ended up on the ground floor. Might as well grab something warm to eat. Hungry kid was hungry. She entered the great hall and automatically headed for the Hufflepuff table.
She picked up a toast with one hand, the other still holding onto her wand. The badger bit into the toast while drawing a weird infinity sign in the air and saying in a muffled voice, "Mmmflm Mmmpio." That obviously did not work.
Swallowing the food and clearing her throat, Leah set the toast down and focused on her homework. "Caelum Say-pee-oh." she said clearly. The area is insulated.. it is insulated.. I feel warmer. That sounded crazy in her brain, but at least the spell worked. A fog emerged out of nowhere. Before she could enjoy the warmth, Leah took another bite of the toast and headed out of the great hall. This place seemed warmer than most of the castle, it was occupied by food after all.

I just thought you two did everything together these days. You're the best of friends, aren't you? Oh the perks of Ravenclaw and their inquisitive young minds. "Mm, you're not wrong on that. Professor Fuller and I have been best friends since we were as young as you both." They go waaay back. But as for her question. "Well, some amount of time away from another is essential. Too much of anything can change things for the worse if not careful." Though these two didn't have to worry about that. They were still young and learning things.
Anyways, after the little fix up for Tobias, he received a smile in return. Smiles were usually a good indication of appreciation in Javy's mind. He returned it at the both of them. So what were they up to today? Spending time together in a supposed outdoor room that was indoors. Hmm... "Well, that certainly sounds familiar." Then looking at Sophie when Tobias mentioned that she knew of it. "Is this the particular room located on the seventh floor?" Because Javy was definitely aware of the Room of Requirement, if that is what they were thinking about. Heh. If that were the case, some supervising was in order, yes?

Yawning, Lux slowly made her way over to her House table. Why did there have to be classes in the morning? It should be banned.
Plopping down on the bench, she poured herself a glass of pumpkin juice and then heaped eggs, bacon, toast, potatoes, and sausage onto her plate. She was a growing girl and as such needed to eat a lot. Eagerly she dug in.

Mel wandered into the great hall slowly. She paused at the door a little and yawned, stretching her arms up towards the ceiling. Melek rubbed her eyes and glanced around the big room. Mel glanced towards the Ravenclaw house table and pondered where Bryant was then towards the other three house tables in the room. After a few moments, she glanced towards the staff table then back to the four house tables. Melek started towards her house table but then a person caught her eye. Mel lit up and skipped over to Lux. "HAT GIRL!" She beamed and poked Lux a few times. "Hi!" Melek plopped down next to her and poured herself something to drink and eyed the food, making a face. "Cant we have anything Turkish here?" Mel pouted and sighed, finally putting bacon on her plate and a piece of toast.

Hearing her nickname shouted out of nowhere, Lux almost choked on the piece of bacon that she was in the middle of eating. Coughing, she pounded her chest as she waited until she recovered. "Hey, Mel!" Smiling, she felt the girl poke her a few times but it was okay. Lux was always glad to see her friend. "So how are things going?"
Eyeing the remaining bacon on her plate she decided to avoid it for the moment and just focus on her eggs. Turkish food? "That would be nice. I've never had anything Turkish before." But then until recently she never tried a taco either.
Alright Kace needed to talk to Grayson about what he has been seeing. He has been seeing Grayson flirting with the slytherin girl Sophie. He just wanted to be sure and make sure his eyes weren't playing tricks on him. As he made his way to the puff table, he noticed food was out fresh for lunch. His stomach rumbled and he massaged his tummy. Hmm might as well eat ya know? He sat down and started eating some good food waiting to see if he could spot Grayson in the process.
I mean hey it would be cool to see Grayson flirting and having a girlfriend. I mean he has Emmy now. Maybe they could double date? That may be a possibility.

Food was the one and only reason as to why he was here.
Oh, and Kace. But food, mainly. Dude was famished, you know. His boredom had now led to him eating more food out of said boredom. There simply wasn't any thing to do and what do you do when you have nothing to do? Eat. Whitty logic. So, he had been making a few more trips to the kitchens and the Great Hall, but mainly the kitchens. The KITCHENS didn't have snow there. Just saying.
Anyways, he was here. Walking along the aisle of the Hufflepuff table, a table he had never sat at before. He hardly had any Hufflepuff friends so the fifteen year old simply didn't see the point in sitting here at all. Just no. Besides, the banner seemed a little too happy for his liking. Maybe it was all that yellow. Sunshine yellow WAS the colour of a certain potion he linked a lot with the house of the Huggers and Finders.
Right. Kace. "'Sup, Kace! Haven't seen you in a while, man." Been hanging out with the girlfriend? HMMMM? "What're we having? I'm STARVING."
As Kace was stuffing his face with donuts he noticed Grayson was there. He held up a finger while he swallowed the donut whole. He took a glass of milk and helped washed it down. "Heyyy mate.." he smiled. He took a napkin to wipe his mouth off. "I know mate it has been a while.." Alright he had to get to the topic now. But just a few more seconds. "Umm I was having some donuts but we can have some pancakes or waffles.." he gestured toward the selection. As he was picking, he look toward the slytherin and asked....
"So mate I have seen you in classes with the slytherin Sophie and I see you are flirting with her.." he smirked and elbowed him playfully.
