Hufflepuff House Table

The Badgers sit under a brand new gold and black banner representing their house. Their solid, shiny wooden table is nicely polished with all the place settings perfectly set. It was once said that the Hogwarts House Elves are the best in the world. It is up to your stomach to agree... but surely it will! Why wouldn't it like elf cooking?

If you're thirsty, there is also fresh pumpkin juice and water on the table, regardless of whether or not it is actually mealtime.

She was exhausted. Not only want keeping up a relationship by letter all sorts of heartbreaking, but it was taking it's toll on her sleeping pattern too. If she didn't oversleep, then she didn't sleep at all. Going from hearing phrases every day and having someone to rest your head on..to relying on two way mirrors and having to read all of their things, to read all of their sayings... it was difficult. But battling on she was, and that she did. Keeping her head up high, Elodie made her way to get some food, with her History of Magic textbook tucked under her arm. She was going to do some eating, some studying and then hopefully be able to reply to her letter and catch five minutes with Coul.

Something else that was borderline heartbreaking was seeing the younger students grow up. Sliding into the seat beside Cutie, Els gave his hair a fluff and put a lollipop in front of him. "You gotta stop growing on me, bud." After graduation...was seeing him going to be really strange when he properly hit his teenage growth spurts?

Was this how things had been for Kurumi when she had seen Elodie grow up?

Jakoby took a seat at the Hufflepuff table -- or at least, he thought it was the right table. He made himself a bowl of mixed raspberries and blueberries, and while he slowly at them one by one, he pulled out a piece of parchment and a quill from his shoulder bag that he had brought along with him. It was time for him to finally write his parents and tell them all about the non-adventures he's had and how he's made the library his second home.

He wrote for a good while, scratching stuff out as he went, and he looked up briefly to give his eyes a rest. His hazel eyes landed on that redhead girl that he had met at the feast. What was her name again? Would he be rude if he did not say anything to her since he had noticed her sitting there? Probably so... He needed to SOCIALIZE with people, which he was getting better at. Kinda.

"Hi."

Swallowing her bit of chicken, Lux heard someone saying hi to... she assumed was her? Turning her head to the side, she saw that it was the shy seeming guy she had met at the feast.

"Hey! Jak is it?" Pretty good with names, she would feel bad if his name ended up being something else entirely.

Jakoby nodded his head at her question. "It is Jak, yes," he replied and a smile followed after his answer. Honestly, he was quite surprised she had remembered his name since the feast had been a few weeks ago. Had he left that much of an impression on her? He fidgeted with his quill for a second as he sat there, awkward silence and all, as he thought of what to say. "So..."

...... so ......

"Nice weather here." He continued to fidget with his quill.

Oh good. She had been right in thinking his name was Jak.

Lux didn't mean to stare, but he seemed so uncomfortable, that it started to get a little worrying. That much fidgeting from one person was never a good thing in her opinion.

Smiling, she put down her chicken leg and slid over a little closer to him. "Are you okay?" Hopefully she wasn't creeping him out - because she wasn't wanting to intrude on his personal space - but well... maybe he had anxiety?

..... why was she staring? WHY WAS SHE STARING?!

Jakob looked down at his letter so that he could take his mind off the fact that she was staring at him. It made him even more nervous to know that she was doing that, and to make things worse, she slid over closer to him. He could feel his heart begin to beat faster against his chest, and he tried to calm himself down. It was hard though. He had a personal bubble, and she was definitely inside that personal bubble right now.

"Uh...." Goodness, he really needed to calm down. He looked at her then down to his letter then back up at her. "I -- I'm fine."

Realizing that she was probably creeping him out, Lux looked away from his face and towards the table. Oooh, looked like he was writing something. A letter maybe? Generally she would be her curious self and ask questions, but something told her that with Jak that wasn't the best of ideas.

Hmmm.... What to do instead? After thinking for a moment, she finally decided on something. "Want to play 20 Questions?" Maybe a game where they could get to know each other better would help him relax.

Of course one could find Adi at the Hufflepuff table. Food was there after all and he was hungry, which was no surprise. He wanted something sweet actually, but his stash of candy had ran out and Cutty was no where to be found.

So instead he was being content with whatever he could find at his House table. Plus he was reading a book on Hippogriffs. What more could he ask for? Hehe. Adi was distracted by a little firstie joining the Hufflepuff table, however. She certainly wasn't a Puffer for he recognised her as a Gryffindor. "Hi,'' the third year said with a smile. He wasn't going to tell her this wasn't the Lion's table. Poor girl must be really hungry as she was filling her plate. "Hungry, aren't you?''

Candice looked up from her plate full of foods when she heard someone was saying 'Hi'. Was that boy talking to her? Or someone else? She looked around but there's no one near them so he probably talked to her, right? "Hi." She looked at the boy. Hufflepuff. He was a Hufflepuff? Why there's a Hufflepuff in the Gryffindor table? Wait. She's in Gryffindor table, right?

Hungry? "Duh! If I'm not hungry I won't be here." Back to her foods. She slowly ate her foods, there's no need to hurry.

Donny stuck his tongue out as he focused on his dolphin drawing. It had to be nothing short of perfect if he wanted to send it to Cian, he had to be a good example y'know. He flicked a page in his book and nodded to himself; common dolphin. Not Flipper, no way. Perfect.
Donny's drawing skills weren't that great, but how was Cian supposed to know if that was what the common dolphin really looked like?

As it turned out drawing required a lot of attention and Donnacha didn't hear or see Elodie walk over or sit down beside him. He jumped up when something ruffled his hair, but he quickly recovered when he saw who it was. The lollipop helped too, 'course. Elodieee. Elodie was the best, he'd miss her next term. Donnacha beamed at her as he took the wrapper off and stuck the lollipop in his mouth. "Hi 'Lodie!" He knew it was Elodie now, but Lodie was special. And she had noticed that he'd grown! "I'll try!" Did that mean he wouldn't be her cutie anymore? That didn't sound nice, nope. If getting taller meant no longer being her cutie he'd rather stay short a little longer. "D'you like my drawin?!"

Adi could see a bit of confusion on the girl's face and figured it might have something to do with him. Maybe she noticed he was a Hufflepuff. Still he decided not to tell her she was not sitting at her House table.

Woah! This young one was rude. Or maybe just annoyed at being disturbed from he food. Meh. Adi wasn't going to let a bit of rudeness keep him from talking to the girl. "True,'' he said. "Anyway, I'm Aditya but call me Adi. I've seen you around loads of time. How do you like Hogwarts so far?''

Candice looked around the table to make sure that she's in the right table but unfortunately for her she saw a few Hufflepuffs not far from where she was seating. She's in the wrong table. SHOOT! But hey, her brother was a Hufflepuff so that's okay, no?

The first year made sure that she already swallowed her foods before she speak. Adi? Got that. "I'm Candice." How she liked Hogwarts so far? "I like it here. Its cool!" Hogwarts was AWESOME!

Adi guessed that now the girl knew she was at the wrong Table as he saw her looking at the other Hufflepuffs sitting not so far away. "Welcome to the Hufflepuff House Table,'' he said with a grin. "Hope you like it here.'' Yep, Adi was the Welcoming Committee. Hehe.

"Nice to meet you, Candice.'' He smiled broadly to see her reaction about Hogwarts. Oh to be a firstie all over again and re-live the experience. "Any favourite subject yet? Or any you dislike?''

When Donny was preoccupied with the lollipop, Els opened up her own and popped it into her mouth with a grin. See. Bonding over sugar and stuff. Bonding was all the best kind of stuffs. Especially with Donnacha. Her fave little rugrat! Who was growing up. Growing up incredibly. Poor little mite. He was going to be big and fighting off swarms of girls very soon. SHE DIDN'T WANT THAT TO HAPPEN. HE WAS HER LITTLE PAL. And he let her kiss his cheek without getting obsessed and wanting to kiss her like other people.

"I love your drawing!" She grinned, reaching out to pick it up and look at it properly. "Are you going to frame it or anything? Is it for your ma?" She'd help him frame it if that was something he wanted to do. She was sure she could do that, actually. Positive of it. Anything for one of her C's.

Yikes. She needed to look where she's going or eating next time. "Umm. Thanks?" Blinks. "I'm allowed to eat in here, right?" There's no rules that said you can't eat in other houses table, right? Right? Right? "Uh huh" Its no different from her house table but having different view was nice sometime.

Favorite subject? "Herbology." Definitely. The flesh-eaters plants just stole her heart right away. "Dislike? Hmm. So far I don't have any dislike subjects." Yet. "What about you? What's your favorite subjects?" And do you have any tips for a first year?

To Adi the first year looked a bit worried about having discovered she was not at her own House Table. Poor kid. "Of course you are,'' he told her. "I sometimes eat over at the Gryffindor table because my best friend is a Lion.'' Though they weren't exactly on friendly terms at the moment.

Adi grinned. "I'm guessing you really enjoyed that first lesson then.'' Yep, those fleshing eating plants really were something. And she didn't dislike any subject so far. A good sign? Nah. Soon Candice was bound to find one that would change that. "I like Care of Magical Creatures,'' the Hufflepuff said promptly. ''Potions would be my second favourite. I don't like Divination though. It's a lot of made up, fake stuff.'' But that was just his opinion.

He sometime liked to eat at the Gryffindor table? Ohh. Cool. So she's not in trouble or anything like that then. "Your best friend is a Lion? What's his or her name?" Maybe his best friend was someone she knew. But she doubt that, she just know a few older Gryffindor students.

"Yup" Nods. "The first one was really cool!" She wondered what's on Professor Bentley next lesson. She hoped they gonna learn more about Flesh Eater Plants because they're just BEAUTIFUL. "Care of Magical Creatures is a very fun lesson too." Plus the Professor was REALLY pleasant to look at. Divination? "I agree. I never really interested in that kinda stuffs."

"Yep, he is. His name is Benjamin Atreyu. Know him?'' Adi wouldn't be surprised if Candice didn't really know him. Benny was a pretty shy guy so he didn't socialise much. But she'd probably seen him around. They shared a common room after all. "Have you made much friends as yet?'' She didn't seem to be the shy type.

Candice obviously wasn't the typical girl. Not much of them would like Flesh Eating Plants. And look! They shared the same opinions about CoMC and Divination. Cool! "So, Candice. Are you the first person in your family to come to Hogwarts?'' Adi spooned some food into his mouth and chewed.

Benjamin who? "Nope Never heard of him." Was it the boy who liked to hang out with Angel? Or was it AJ? She still couldn't tell them apart. "I have. Most of them are first year though." Unfortunately.

Yeah Divination was not her thing but she was kinda curious what kind of stuff they gonna learn there so maybe she'll come to the first lesson and see how it goes. "Nope. My Uncle and my brother went to Hogwarts." She told the older Hufflepuff. "In fact my brother was a Hufflepuff. He just graduated last year. What about you?"

Okay, so that wasn't surprising that Candice did not know who Benny was. The guy pretty much kept to himself. Which Adi did not think was healthy. Everybody should be out there socialising. But Benny was Benny. "Well, I'm not a first year.'' See? She made a third year friend. "If you have any trouble with any homework or you want to partner up in classes or for assignments, just let me know.'' The life of a firstie was not an easy one since they've got to adjust to so many changes so maybe Adi could help make stuff easier for Candice.

Her brother was a Hufflepuff? Well then! Adi must have known him a bit, if not that well. "What's your brother's name?'' He paused to take another bite. After chewing and swallowing, he replied ''My mom came before me. She was a Gryffindor.''
