Ian looked around a minute and saw a lady come over to the table. He eyed her a little suspiciously. She didn't look like a professor and she looked kinda like she was just looking for a place to hang out. It was kinda creepy, but Ian being a good soul (and having a soft spot for female people) decided to see what she was up to.

Hello. How are you? Who are you? You don't look familiar. He didn't mean to be rude, but after turning all old and wrinkly last year, he didn't want another terribly exciting year. He'd like to be able to go to classes and such and not worry about maybe, possibly dying the next day.

Just as he finished asking all these questions, the headmistress got up and spoke. Much to Ian's disappointment, there wouldn't be quidditch this year. He had hoped he'd be able to try again to make the team. His quidditch disappointment was soon forgotten as food showed up. His face broke into a wide smile and he reached for the closest pasty and some pumpkin juice (he was getting tired of the water he'd been drinking). He looked back up at the lady to see if she was going to answer.

Sky adjusted her leather jacket as she took a look up and down the Hufflepuff table, and then around her. Oh look someone decided they were going to talk to her. A Hufflepuff, darlings they were. Always so kind. She was a bit surprised that he had noticed her, weren't these children usually just worried about when the food was going to be arriving.

"Hello. I am good, and you?" She stopped talking as she saw the Headmistress get up and start her speech. Yes she knew it all. Sad no quidditch. Though she did take a look around and saw several disappointed faces, including one from the boy she was just talking to.

"I am part of the security detail, your headmistress just spoke of." she finished answering the boy's question with a smile.

Dylan laughed quietly to himself as the girl bounced. She was surely full of energy, and it was kind of super adorable. He raised an eyebrow as she talked quickly, he could just make out what she was saying. At least he was pretty sure he could. "I'm good. And it's really nice to meet you, Oswin," he told her with an amused smile. Because this girl was quite amusing. And her name was super cool. Oswin. It needed a nickname. Because all of Dylan's friends needed nicknames! "Can I call ya Ozzy?" he asked with a grin.

"Glad to hear it!" he said happily with a smile. "Oh, I've been good," he said to her question. "And I missed you too! We need to hang out more next summer, yeah?" he gave a nod. He hadn't really hung out with any friends this summer, actually. It kinda zipped by. Perhaps it was because he had slept for half of it or something. Dylan liked sleeping.

Dylan smiled at Lux, remembering suddenly about her and her boyfriend. She still had more details to spill, but he'd wait for that. Heh heh. Anywho. "So, you excited for this term?" he then asked her. He sure was. He had truly missed Hogwarts and the interesting classes. Except for ancient runes...

Following her gesturing with his piercing blue gaze, he managed to spot Mr. Tempus among the sea of blue. Rather easy really, the boy radiated Hufflepuff yellow to the core. Stuck out like the sun against the blue canvas of the sky. "Oh yes, there he is. Thank you. I'll just waddle on over there then. Enjoy the feast! I was in the kitchens earlier and taste tested the shepard's pie. Quite tasty."

Offering a quick salute, Airey began making his way towards the Ravenclaw table.

Kace chuckled when Dylan caught on. "I do not get all the credit though...It was Mitch's nickname for her. He was the one who created and then itjust stuck."he shrugged."Well i am glad we are on the same page!" he told him. "I missed you last term, you were hardly in any classes.." he said remembering if he ever saw him. Nope he didn't!

"What are you looking forward to this term?" he asked his buddy.



Kace chuckled. "Yes sports camps...ermm..i play soccer and american football mostly." he shrugged like it was no biggie. "But i wish they had Quidditch camps that would be awesome." he commented that to Mitch. "But have you been to any sports camps back at home?" he asked curiously.

He saw Mitch nod towards Emmy, and he smirked and asked jokingly with a raised brow, "So i guess you approve of Emmy then?"



"Nice to meet you Norah." he smiled warmly back. He was so glad to see new faces. Especially little firsties. He remembered when he was a first year, ah the good times...but now those times have passed. He has Emmy now and all his other friends. "How are you liking hufflepuff so far?" he asked her curiously. "You know our common rooms is one of the best?" he winked at her.



Kace grinned at Marigold's reaction. "Yeah maybe we could double date sometime. I think it would be fun." he shrugged. But of course he needed to ask Emmy if it was okay and to be sure if it was cool with Mitch. He remembered when Marigold blushed at his Valentine that he gave her last year. He smirked at that memory. He leaned towards Marigold and said, "I think i remember that blush that time i gave you my Valentine last year and i was labeled Puffanova." he chuckled.



"Oh no no i am good. I will be full when the feast starts." he told Lux gesturing toward his empty plate still. He hoped the food would appear. "I am pretty sure you get sick of them.." he chuckled when Lux mentioned she is usually stuck with all of them when Bay hates them. "Trust me Belle hates PB & J sandwiches and she used to give them all to me. Then i was stuck eating them and now every time i look at one, i wanna puke." he shuddered. But anyways onto other things!

Oh? So he interned at Wizard Wheezes? That made sense. "Aahhh so that is where he got them! I wish i could have tried them with him. You would have laughed seeing me with yellow feathers. I may have done the chicken dance at that point." he chuckled imitating the chicken dance slightly. Oh ever so slightly.

"Gryffindor is your favorite house?" he asked quietly. "Do we have a traitor on our hands?" he asked jokingly elbowing her slightly. But he understood. All her friends were there and she wanted to be with them. But Lux was different than the rest according to the sorting hat.

Kace noticed a new hufflepuff walking around. He seemed new. Kace never saw him before. He grinned and went over to chat. "Hey i am Kace..." he said holding his hand out. "Welcome to Hufflpuff, seems like you are new around here."

Annaleecia walked in and looked around. She really wasn't thrilled for this, at all... Of course she was happy to be back at Hogwarts... but it wasn't the same as it was, and clearly neither was she. But you know, it was hard to be in a happy mood when she got the chance to sneak and see how her family was doing and everyone, including her sister, seemed perfectly happy without her around... Just the outcast. She'd have to get use to that sooner or later she supposed, after all, it didn't seem much different here.

*Looking up from his food he looked down the table to see a familiar face. Giving her a warm smile Romulus gave her a friendly wave.*

"Adi. That's a cool, unique name! Aditya...that doesn't sound English..." now Ethan got curious. He likes those different, unique stuff. "Are you a transfer too?" Because that'll be extra cool. They can explore Hogwarts together! But even if he's not, it'll be cool to have a buddy to explore the grounds. What with him smuggling his skateboard to school; he needs to find the perfect spot to spend his free time skateboarding. Hehehe.

Oh! His name's cool? Ethan beamed and shrugged. "Not really. It's a common name around here." But yeah, enough about names! Adi seems to be a cool dude, so Ethan scooted a little closer to him. "I used to go to Durmstrang." Believe it or not. "Not my cup of tea, really. Hated all the snow up there." Because he can't go skateboarding. Although snowboarding was a lot of fun too! "So, Adi. What year are you in? What are your favorite subjects? What's your hobby? Do you like rock music? Do you like Quidditch? Sports? Politics?" Well, he just might be interested in politics...who knows, yeah?

Ethan perked up a little when Ana mentioned his cousin.

"Mordred's my cousin! He used to go here...graduated three...four years ago." Well, technically Mordred had to finish his last year in Durmstrang because of family reasons, but the former Slytherin still considers Hogwarts as his school. "He must be a Slytherin...never asked him that...all I know is that he's got green ties in his dresser back home." A pause from the boy and he slowly turned to Ana as he put one and one together. "He won't disown me! I ended up in his former house! Yusss!!!" Ethan rejoiced as he pumped his clenched fists up in the air. "Well, even if I ended up in another house, he won't have a choice." Ethan laughed and tapped the table like a pro drummer. "Mordred's awesome, you know? He's currently in Russia studying Dragon stuff. Said he's going to be the next Dragon Lord." Ethan doesn't know if he should believe that part or not, but since it's Mordred then it's safe to say that he's telling the truth.

As he calmed down, the boy made a curious face and turned to his companion. "Is it true that there's this 'house competition' thing? How do you go about it?" Ethan scratched his chin as he tried to remember the bits and pieces of information he got from Mordred. Well, his cousin told him a lot, but apparently Ethan wasn't paying much attention since he was too excited about his acceptance letter that day. "Oh yeah, I'm in my third year. Will turn 14 next month." Ethan nodded and smiled. "....eh...you don't look like a fourteen year old to me..."

Ana really didn't mean to eavesdrop but since she was sitting right next to Ethan she obviously couldn't help but hear what he was saying. How did someone not like snow? Definitely a strange kid. Ana loved snow. She also loved Durmstrang. "But Durmstrang was amazing," she said, biting her lip as she realised she might have just been extremely rude, interrupting another persons conversation. If her mamushka could see her now she'd probably be lamenting her lack of manners. Oh well.

"That explains why I have no clue who you're talking about." The guy was here way before Ana's time. A few of the other older Slytherins might know him though. Oh, enthusiastic boy. Why would his cousin disown him even if he ended up in a different house? That just sounded plain weird. But dragons. And Russia. Obviously his cousin was secretly great. "That does sound really cool. He'd be doing Cryptozoology or Magizoology right?" Ana asked, fairly interested in the answer even though Ethan probably wouldn't know much about it. She wasn't a hundred percent sure of her career choice but she thought she'd like to either become a Herbologist following in her parents footsteps or a Magizoologist like her step-father.

House competition? Huh? "I really don't know. I mean, we have the house cup and stuff which you get by earning the most house points?" Ana said hesitantly, not really sure of the answer. "I actually only transferred here last year so I'm not the greatest person to ask about the way this school runs things." Or even how to get places. Hopefully no one would come to her asking for directions. "That would be because I'm not. I'm sixteen and a sixth year," which meant she was much closer to actually needing to have a clue about her life than she was happy with.

Anna looked up and gave a weak smile, "Romulus!" She went over and gave him a small hug. She knew he didn't like them, but hey, they hadn't seen each other in nearly a year so... Yeah, he could have one small hug right? She sat beside him and smiled, "How was your summer?"

"Of course, Kace,'' Adi said *** he looked around the table for something to put in his stomach. Finally the Headmistress had gotten over her speech and he could eat now! Yay! "I don't miss an opportunity to play when I'm home.'' And speaking of sports. "You still have to teach me some soccer moves.'' Yep, the two had discussed that last year. Emmy? "Who's Emmy?'' Adi asked curiously. He was obviously missing something. "Yep, all set. How about you and fourth year?''

Adi laughed a bit as Ian described his experience with the Sorting Hat. The part with it slipping down his nose was funny and Adi could picture it happening in his head. But the part with lack of confidence was not. "Aw, don't worry about that bit with the confidence. I bet your confidence will get better before you're done Hogwarts.'' Yep, Adi was sure of that. "As for the Sorting, I wasn't paying much attention to the Hat like you were. I was too busy listening for it to shout out my House. I was half expecting Gryffindor since my mom was in that House.'' But he was mighty glad he got Hufflepuff instead.

Ah looky here! Another new Puffer (Nola). "Hello! Welcome to Hogwarts and Hufflepuff.'' Grinning to himself, Adi felt like the official welcome party for both Hufflepuff and Hogwarts.

Adi laughed out loud at what Dylan said about his hair. "You sound like you're doing one of those muggle ads for hair.'' Haha. That was something funny to picture. Oh, guitar. Right. "Of course. Sometime soon before we start drowning in homework.'' He won't put it past the Professors to give a huuuge pile of homework during their first week. And back to summer talk. "Did ya go anywhere for vacation?''

Hello, hello. Who was this strange girl (Sky)? "Hi!'' Adi said to her. "Are you one of those people here to provide security?'' He could see some other tables had strange people standing at them and the Headmistress had just spoken something about security.

Adikins. Adi liked that nickname. "Not too bad either,'' he replied to Marigold. "Looking forward to the new term?''

Another grin for Lux. She was pretty psyched up. And even more than he was it seemed. "I'm all set! As long as we're not old again this term, I'm good.'' Last term had not been very much enjoyable for him. Adi hated to be slow, old and achy. "So, was Hufflepuff the House you were hoping to be Sorted in?''

Stare for Declan. What was a Vipertooth? O_o "Uh, no I don't,'' Adi said. Mudslides, zombies and mountain trolls? Awesome! "that sounds so cool!'' Well, setting aside the danger and all but come on! That was one cool way to spend your summer.

"Yes, we're a patient bunch,'' Adi continued patiently. "Wait, are you not patient? Are you loyal then?'' The Sorting Hat did not make mistakes, right?

Adi grinned at Jakoby. "That we are. Nice to meet you, Jakoby. I'm Aditya but call me Adi.'' That seriously should be his catchphrase. How many times had he said call me Adi tonight? Hehe. "So, which school do you come from?'' Because this guy was definitely not a first year.

"Thank you,'' Adi replied to Ethan and grinned. "Nope it's not. It's Indian. You know, like the people from India? Some of my family came from there.'' And he was so glad they did. India was such an overcrowded place! He won't want to live there. "So, nope. I'm not a transfer. Been at Hogwarts since my first year.'' Now Adi was wondering why on Earth Ethan was sorted into Slytherin. He certainly didn't seem to be the usual Snake type. O_o

And he want to Durmstrang? Adi had seen Durmstrangers during his first year. They were not this chatty and cool. Somehow Ethan had been to the wrong school and Sorted into the wrong House. But the Sorting Hat didn't make mistakes, right? Anyway..."You'll like it better here,'' Adi said confidently.

Eep! So many questions! Ethan reminded him of the firstie AJ whom he met in Diagon Alley and had bombarded him with questions. Hehe. "I'm in third year, favourite subject is Care of Magical Creatures, hobbies include reading and listening to music. I like sports especially cricket. Do you know about cricket? I like Quidditch but I don't really play.'' Adi had purposely skipped the music question. Why? Because..."I LOVE rock music, yo!'' He made the sign of the horns with his hands. "I'm guessing you're a fan of rock too?'' This was so awesome! Adi didn't have much friends who liked rock.

*He never was one for hugs but he knew that she was. Giving her a little pat on the back he moved over for her to sit down.*
"My summer? It was good. Mostly stayed at home unless Cece dragged me out into the sunshine. I had a lot of reading to catch up on."
*Rom was always reading but the books he read over the holiday weren't school books. The boys mind was a sponge, always wanting to learn something new.*
"How about you? Do anything fun for your holiday?"

Lambrini grinned. "And I'm glad to be here with you." She was always happiest when Jakoby was around. That's part of the reason she'd followed him here to Hogwarts in the first place. "We'll both probably have a lot of homework, Jak, but that doesn't mean we can't have fun, too." She knew Hogwarts had rules, but they didn't have their overprotective parents around now to keep an eye on every little thing they did. Noticing that he was starting to look uneasy again, she frowned a little. "We'll take it slow, okay? Nothing too crazy." They could just... stay up all night on the weekends and eat lots of junk food. Yup. That would be fun.

Seeing Jakoby smile made Lamb smile, and her eyes flicked up to notice that his hair was a little messy. She lifted her hand and helped smooth it out for him. There. Much better. "You should've." She had helped herself to plenty of candy while on the train. Heh.

Hazel loved feasts at Hogwarts so much. Ohh! And now there was food! Everything was just getting better and better! She reached out and grabbed something or other. YUM! Yup, nothing gets better than Hogwarts.

"Hey, Adi," Hazel said to her friend. Her mind flashed back to last year. Ice skating. Slipping. Falling. Such a fun time. She could tell that's what Adi was thinking about also. "How was your summer?" she asked. She remembered last summer he'd won the pie eating contest. A smile appeared on her face. Pie was great.

"When I was little I used to live in France," she told Ian. "I just love all the little cafe's and the nature. I've never been to Germany either, though. It sounds like a great place." Germany always sounded so cool. And wasn't there some sort of strange magic there? She made a mental note to visit the library to check it out.

Now this girl liked to talk. She reminded her of her own first year self, bursting into conversations without any doubts or worries. She smiled at the younger girl. Oswin she said her name was? "Hello, Oswin. I'm a third year. No, you're not being rude at all! It doesn't bother me! she told the girl. So she was a Gryffindor, aiiii? Then she said out of impulse, "Do you mind if I call you Ozzie?" Nicknames were great.

She waved towards the boy she met in her first year. Dylan? She hadn't really talked to him for a while. Maybe he'd say hi?

"Hi Norah," she said. Norah was such a pretty name. She ran her hand through her hair. "Thanks," she said when Norah complimented her. She seemed like a very nice person, a perfect Hufflepuff. When she was sorted into Hufflepuff, she didn't feel like one, but to her, Norah was perfect for this house. "I'm a third year." That sounded so old! She remembered when she was a first year and she was frightened of second years! This girl sure was brave.

And then there was Marigold. Marigold always made her laugh. "I'm good, darling," she said. She giggled, for she was just so happy! So what if they were suddenly talking like royalty. What's wrong with that? That's right: nothing's wrong with that. "How was your summer?" she asked. Maybe she did something with that Gryffindor Mitch? Or was that just a rumor? Hazel had no idea. She didn't think it was a rumor since it wasn't told by a portrait, but she could never be sure.

Hazel smiled at Lux. "I had a really fun summer, but I'm glad to be back at school," she replied. It was great that Hogwarts was something she could look forward to. Hogwarts had everything. It had friends, food, teachers, classes, inside jokes. Oh, and magic. What is there not to like? "You're a third year, right?" she asked. She seemed to be around her own age, but she was often wrong. Oh, well. Maybe this time she'd get lucky.

Nola smiled at the boy. "Thank you. I'm Nola." She introduced herself as she swung her short legs back and forth. She flashed a smile before she returned to humming a tune she had stuck in her head again.

As she continued to peer around her, Nola's eyes found a very familiar face. "Lux!" Nola exclaimed with a smile. "I made Hufflepuff! How long is the feast supposed to be?" The questions began again.

"Did you get the shoes to fit? I hope they're not too tight. Or too big either." Nola questioned with a smile. She was happy that she was in a house she already knew someone in. "Hey, do you know if they serve eggplant here?"

"Hello, I'm Nola." Nola greeted another person. It seemed like all she was doing recently was saying hello and telling everyone her name. "Too bad you don't have any confetti." Nola told this one. She frowned for a moment thinking she had left her confetti in her trunk.

Ah, but there was a bit of the multi colored stuff shoved in her pockets for safe keeping. Nola's smile returned as she reached into her pocket and pulled out the confetti pieces. Quickly she threw her arms up into the air and released the confetti into the air. "Hufflepuff!" She exclaimed with laughter.

"Ohh, okay." Dylan said with a nod. Nicknames were so fun, Dylan loved giving all his friends nicknames. And now that he thought about it, he didn't think he had given Kace a nickname! But what could he call him? There wasn't really a name short for Kace, was there? It was a bit of a short name. Hmm. Dylan would have to think on it for a bit, then.

Anywho. "I missed you too! Yeah, I was sick on and off throughout the semester. It was pretty crazy. But this term, so far I'm positive that you'll be seeing more of me!" he explained. "I'm really looking forward to my classes," he answered Kace's next question, smiling. He was actually quite excited, except for ancient runes, that is. Bleh. Extremely boring class in his opinion. "What about you?"

Dylan burst out laughing at Adi's comment. It actually was true, he probably did look like he was in a Muggle ad for hair... "Really? Do I do it pretty well, then? Perhaps that's something I can do for a living after I get out of Hogwarts." he said jokingly, stroking his chin in thought. Grinning, he laughed again. Adi and him seemed to joke around a lot together, and he really liked that. They seemed to get on so well.

The third year nodded in agreement. "Definitely. Maybe tomorrow or something, I could meet you in the common room? Or in the dorm? Wherever you want." he suggested, smiling at the idea. Perhaps he'd bring some sweets too. He had plenty leftover from the train ride.

Noticing out of the corner of his eye someone waving at him, he looked up to see...what was her name? Oh yeah! Hazel. He had met her last year. Smiling, he returned the wave. "Hey, Hazel!" he said cheerfully. "How was your summer?" he asked.

"No problem. And it's nice to meet you, Nola." he told her, smiling in return. Noticing her continuing to hum a tune she had been humming earlier, he tilted his head slightly. "What's that your humming?" he asked curiously. It was quite catchy.

Kace listened to the Headmistresses speech and then the food appeared on the plates! Finally!! He stared at it hungrily and then ate. After he had a few bites, he looked at Adi and swallowed. "Oh right! I still need to teach you soccer moves. Well mate we can meet on the quidditch pitch and i can teach you anytime you want." he offered. He knew he would have more free time this term. Then he asked who Emmy was. He grinned and chuckled.

"Emmy is my girlfriend.." he said tilting his head and standing over Adi. He tried to find her at the Gryffindor table. "You see the short blonde over there? She is with Cinnamon and Bart?" he told her hoping he knew who he was talking about.

"Of course i am all set for my fourth year." he nodded toward the young puff. "It is quite surreal, time has flown by i will tell you that much. I hope the lessons will be awesome this year."



Then after Kace talked with Adi, he noticed a familiar face. He grinned and decided he would creep up on her. He tiptoed up to her and tapped her shoulders and said, "BOO!" and then smiled and waited for her reaction.



"What were you sick with that made you so many lessons?" he asked curiously. He might of had mono or something. He heard that sickness was horrible. Made you always tired and stay in bed. He smiled when he was gonna see more of him. "That's great mate, i wanna have a buddy to fly around the Quidditch pitch with." he said patting him on the shoulder.

"Oh i am looking forward to the lessons. I hear we have a new Divination teacher and a new History of Magic. So i am interested to see what they have in store for us.." he said telling the puff the rumors.

... She was sliding. Away from Mitch. Down the bench. Looking up at the force who did such a thing, she smiled because it was DECLANNNNNN!!! Her cousin!!! "I saw you sorted here super exciting, you know and this is Mitch!" she said all in one breathe, the last part being said with an arm pointing over Dec. COUSIN AT HOGWARTS ALERT. HOW COOL WAS THAT.



"Hi, Professor!" Marigold said, looking up and seeing her favorite teacher. Toby? "I thiink he's somewhere over there," she said, pointing vaguely to the end of the table and maybe a bit of the Claw table too. She hadn't really seen him yet.

"But aside from that, nothing really happened, just dying my hair, and a slightly different attitude." And neither was really the best, she just felt her blonde hair was too much of a bright color for an outcast, so now her darker hair just kinda represented her loss of faith that things would really get better.



She squealed slightly and turned and looked at Kace, gently slapping his arm, "Don't do that!" Annaleecia gave a slight laugh and smiled. She shook her head and looked at him, "You're mean." She stuck her tongue out at him and laughed.

The third year nodded. "Yeah, we do!" he said. They hadn't hung out much last year sadly, now that he thought about it. Frown. Mari was so nice and fun to be around! They'd definitely have to change that soon. "Maybe if we have classes or something together, I can sit by ya?" he asked with a smile.

"Mono," Dylan replied, frowning at the memory of it. It felt as if it would never go away when he had had it. He was just glad it was all over. Smiling when Kace mentioned having someone to fly with, he nodded. "Same here!" he exclaimed as Kace gave him a pat on the shoulder. It was nice to know he had someone he knew pretty well trying out on the team too.

"Really?" Dylan asked when Kace mentioned new teachers, cocking his head slightly. Huh. He hadn't heard about this. "Do you think they're up there?" he asked, nodding his head towards the staff table.

Marigold grinned and hugged Dyl again. "Of course! You can always sit by me!" Speaking of classes.... EXCITING.

Sky had been looking around doing security stuff when she heard another voice, looking back towards the Hufflepuff table she gave a smile. "Hello there. Yes I am here to keep you all safe and sound." Maybe not all the Hufflepuffs were ditzy...She had been asked earlier if she was a student... Did she look like a student.

*Wow... That did not sound like a fun summer holiday at all. If anything it made his summer holiday look amazingly fun. He did notice the new hair and wondered why she had made the change. It still looked nice.*
"Wow... I'm sorry. Hard summer then."

"Hard?" She shook her head, "No... Just reality hitting... I'm never going to be more than a freak to them. It's time to accept it and just move on." She looked down at her necklace and gently pulled it off, "Past is the past after all.. I'm here now." Anna smiled weakly and looked at him, "Just, kinda sick of lying to myself about it now, you know?"
