The Professor had been there the whole time?!?!?! Simon could have died of humiliation right in that moment when he realized that.... But he didn't because then he would have missed out on this class and this very peppy Professor.

And class had started!

A specific moment where Muggles witnessed something magical?

He pursed his lips as he tried to think of an occasion where that had happened. Hmmmmm.... He knew this! It was on the tip of his tongue but he just couldn't get it out there. Frustrated, he slowed himself down and searched for an answer. Was it the Ilfracombe Incident or something? The one with the dragon?

Ah, yes! The one with the dragon!

He raised his hand and gave it a try. "Professor, would the Ilfracombe Incident be an acceptable answer? It happened way back in 1932, when a Common Welsh Green dragon attacked a group of sunbathers at Ilfracombe. The attack was thwarted by the Toke wizarding family who had to cast a couple of Memory Charms on the group of muggles to make them forget about the incident," he said.

Bay loved watching everyone come in their own ways.. But the professor took the cake.. She was an amazing dancer "wow.. Awesome professor " he won't be doing much more dancing... Last time he did that he was stepping on the poor girls toes.

Listening to the professor explain about learning by doing rather than reading bay couldn't agree more. That's how he learned best.

Thinking real hard about the question he raised his hand " professor when the dementors where attacking the muggle population.. They still felt it and saw mist even though they couldn't physically see them it's a type of witness? " it was a scary topic and everyone brought up those events but he just totally felt uncomfortable talking about it. He lowered his hand down slowly.

Agatha simply watched as the weirdos other kids entered the class wiggling like crazy. Merlin, what was that? Did they think they were dancing or something?She couldn't believe what Ethan was doing. At least he pointed to loads of people so she could pretend he never pointed at her.

Once a grown woman materialised next to the door and tap danced her way to the middle of the room, Agatha's eyes widened. Whoooooooooooa!!! Now THAT is dancing! Not that silly wiggle thing all the others were doing. Wow. That had been pretty nice.

The professor spoke a lot, but didn't say her name. The Slytherin blinked. "What's her name?" She whispered to the random person next to her. And the woman was speaking rather fast and was already asking something. Any detail is history? That still happened nowadays, didn't it? But it was a History of Magic lesson, so it made sense for the woman to ask them that. "When young kids used magic unintentionally?" ....That hadn't been an historical event, but it was the only thing Agatha thought of. It was still quite normal, actually. She has even witnessed a case or two.

Lex hadn't made an entrance when everyone else did, mostly because she'd interpreted the sign way wrong and was prepared to make a hole in the wall (making an entrance, hello) but saw others doing less...extreme things so there she was sitting, the song long become background noise to her. It was so repetitive. Repetition was the fastest way to lose her interest. The song hardly registered anymore.

What did register was the happy new Professor. Had they ever had a female HoM Professor? Not from her memory, this should be interesting. The Gryffindor sat forward in her seat, feigning interest while introductions and questions were being tossed out. So far, she liked the idea of living history as opposed to memorizing dates and people that were of no importance to her.

As for whether she could think up an incident, nope. Did she want to go searching through her textbook....not particularly so Lex sat there, waiting for them to move on to a question she might have had a greater chance of knowing or the activity; the girl had always been a more hands on learner.

Zander sat down in his chair and watched the next few students trickle in with their "entrances" and it was hilarious. Especially Ethan, who made a point to give everyone a little shout out. Zander clapped with the boy for a few beats as he watched him dance all over the place. Ah, what a guy.

AND WOAH, where did SHE come from?! Either way, at least the Professor made an effort to make an entrance too? And what exactly did all the music and the entrance have to do with the lesson? Because now Zander's curious.

As for the question... Zander had to think a little bit. He nodded as Simon gave a very intelligent answer. Woah, he must've done his research for that one. And then bingo, Zander thought of something! "At the 422nd Quidditch World Cup, wasn't a muggle family taken by the death eaters?" he asked. "I'm pretty sure the death eaters used magic against them and levitated them and cruel stuff like that," he added. Ugh. Using the term muggle still felt kinda weird to him.

This class was amazing already, and it hadn't even started yet. Grooving in her chair, Lux clapped her hands along as more people arrived. Cinnamon, Jasmine, Bay, and Ethan all made amazing entrances and got enthusiastic greetings from her. So many dancers at Hogwarts, and Bay was totally adorable.

In the middle of her groove, Lux was sad when the music stopped. BOOO! But it was okay, because the Professor had arrived. AND LUX LIKED HER A LOT ALREADY!!! Oooh, the idea of placing oneself in a moment of history was really interesting. Not being able to think of anything to answer the first question, Lux remained silent and instead got out her notebook so that she could write things down.

Then there was sudden TAP dancing into the room and .................. jazz hands Jeremiah sat in his chosen seat with wide eyes at this professor as she spoke. He found himself squinting slightly at her round of applause at the entrances. Did his running count as a good one, even though he didn't know they were suppose to make an entrance?



Wait, WHAT!? no date memorizing?! no intellectual fact note cards to study!? He didn't want to GO places he wanted to READ about them. they we're history for a reason and he'd rather have no part in History but rather the future. This was a nightmare and this lady had point FIVE seconds to turn this class around or else he'd... he'd, he'd cry! Also, did she ask a question? he didn't catch that. oops.

Did the professor just…tap danced??? Ethan loves to dance…and if this lady knew how to, then she’s definitely going to be in his list of Cool Profs. Well, he still needs to see how their first class is gonna go, but yeah. HoM professor is half-way there. Wait, what’s her name? The Slytherin got his notebook out and scanned the list of professors he jotted down previously from their Noticeboard. History of Magic: Professor Nessarose Glendower. Noted.

The young boy looked up with a grin on his face as the professor started her welcome speech. So…wait, she was there all along? She saw him make a fool of himselfdance and such? Cooooool. Hehehe. Ethan gave Simon a quick glance and a wink. She saw how epic his dance moves were, and he this already made his day. Now, moving on to a more serious note. Hmm.

Hand up.

“Professor? How about the sighting of the largest kelpie in the world? Um, the Loch Ness Monster?” Yeah, that’s the one.

While Cris waited for the lesson to start, he waved and said hello to those who greeted him. "Hi Simon, it's nice to meet you. I'm Cris," Cris introduced himself the young Slytherin who had been the other student in the class when he had first arrived.

Then came Adi, Ethan, Jasmine and AJ and others whom he had never met before until now. Then it was the turn for the new History of Magic Professor to show up and introduce herself. Cris kind of liked the way she introduced the lesson proper and had his hand up right after the first question was posed.

"Professor there was that incident where a Flying Ford Anglia was witnessed by 5 muggles flying over London. Inside the car was Harry Potter and his friend, Ron Weasley."

He'd taken a seat at one of the larger type chairs and settled into it. Actually, it really felt quite nice. Nevermind that everyone could see him. Besides, he could also see them. His scowl soon faded into a calm, though not pleased expression as he sank into the seat. Professor Glendower had made her appearance and Cutty could see that he was not wrong about the subject seeming to attract more eccentric types. As she spoke about her aims for the class Cutty withdrew his quill and parchment. It was always a good idea to know what your Professors want out of you. And ideal bit of information really when trying to fly just below the radar.

But not be invisible, exactly. Cutty raised his hand to offer an incident, "Muggles would've seen all those unfortunate things which were the responsibility of Voldemort and his followers, wouldn't they? Only they would've thought things like gatherings of dementors were storm clouds." They were one question in, but he already had questions so his hand immediately rose again. "Professor, do sightings of creatures or incidents always lead to memory modification charms where possible in Wizarding History? Even if muggles think they've seen something else? Something more mundane that belongs in their wehld?"

Not paying attention to whatever else was going on around her, Beverly took out several pieces of parchment, a quill and the text book. That was until she caught someone at the corner of her eye. HEY. It was Jeremiah--he didn't look too enthused. Tilting her head as he sat at the desk in front of hers, Beverly wondered who she'd have to punch. Did someone interrupt his reading? 'Cause he REALLY loved that. Or did someone steal his pizza? 'Cause that would be blasphemy and a butt whooping HAD to be in order.

Shrugging to herself, she stretched her foot, just barely giving his chair a tap-kick. She made sure the professor had been looking away 'cause, hello, Little Angel Face here. NOT.

Leaving that for a moment, she mulled over the question ignoring whatever else Professor Glendower said before it. She did mention they weren't getting into that just yet. After a moment, the Slytherin raised her hand.

"I don't remember the exact date of when it happened the first time, but the Ministry had a hard time with muggle sightings of Yeti in Tibet. Muggles refer to them as Bigfoot or the Abominable Snowman. It was horribly bad that the International Confederation of Wizards established a permanent International Task Force in the mountains." Meaning...

She had yet another career path!

Angel raised her hand. "Professor when that Peter fellow faked his own death he made sure that it was the seen by everyone, which if I had been an Auror at the time then I would have been suspicious about the fact that all they found after was a finger." Angel wondered how the Ministry had got the wrong guy and wonder if they had pardoned him after all what had happened, seriously though the Ministry must have been thick to just let it go at that.

And with all that aside.. "Let's get started!" Nessa clasped her hands together and looked out with a hint of excitement at the sea of faces in front of her. "I feel that the best way to learn about history is to put yourself there - at the scene of the events, so to speak. Instead of simply memorizing names and dates, you can really feel what it was like for events to have happened, and that often aids in retaining it to memory." Not to mention make it more fun!

"But before we get into all of that, let's narrow it down to just one specific event in history." She already had something in mind, but she wanted to see what they knew first. "Can anyone name a specific event in history where Muggles were witness to something magical? Or provide any details about it?" Something against the Secrecy Statute, no? And this would come in handy later. "You can use your books for this part."

Put yourself into history. Nice quote, Professor. Leah was already starting to like this new professor, from the way she made students make an entrance to the way she started the lesson.

Raising up her hand, the second year said, "Professor, I don't know if this counts as an event, but Ariana Dumbledore was seen practicing magic when she was six years old by muggles." Poor her. Leah did not mention that Ariana was attacked by those muggle boys after that.

Cinna watched as others made there entrance. She danced, clapped and sung along from her seat. Bay joined them and shortly after that the professor tap danced her way into the classroom. Awesome. She would have to talk later with her about dancing one day she was a fellow dance too. Ballet and ballroom.

Now this approach to History of Magic no remembering names and dates was totally great. It was so hard to remember names of old people and dates of times long ago. Now a answer she raised her hand "This actually isn't a time of witnessing magic. But being told. When there is a new Prime Minster appointed the current Minster of magic meets with them and tells them a the magic world." Or at least that's what she thought she heard once.

The Professor had been watching the whole time? You always had to expect the unexpected at Hogwarts. Jasmine had already learned that much. And.....the Professor was a dancer. Cool.

When the first History of Magic question was asked, Jasmine raised her hand to respond. When Harry Potter was attacked by dementors in Little Whinging, his muggle cousin was involved. Actually he was attacked as well, so he was a witness to magical activity.

The professor's entrance... Had she been there the whole time? First question, magical events witnessed by muggles. Many people had already answered, so Penelope decided not to say anything, taking time to think about it. She did not know much about the wizarding world and magical history, so she listened to what people were saying and got out her notebook and quills for taking notes. If she thought of anything to say, she would, but for now she remained quiet.

Look!!! It was the professor who taught her how to use the hot air charm on Peeves. Hiiiii professor. AJ smiled at everybody that greeted her. The first year was afraid that this class was going to be boring simply because of the word history. This professor might just be able to change that.

Err... AJ wasn't sure about the answer to this one, and she really didn't want to look through her textbook. Plus, it seemed like everybody else had already said everything so did she really need to hunt further? "How about when a bunch of wizards got together in their wizard attire and caused suspicion?" She totally just made that up, but that could be a thing.

UGH. dumb people were singing a dumb song and clapping their hands like...dumb people. Seriously...coud he leave? Even the Professor's entrance had not impressed him as he merely rolled his eyes and leaned back in his chair. Maybe this was because he wasn't in a good mood. With this sudden cold weather, the Gryffindor had a cold earlier and he had to sniff loudly now and then and breathe through his mouth.

Yep, he didn't feel very good. Luckily , the first question came and everyone was silent again. Well, there was a case of muggles seeing Kevin use magic before he got to Hogwarts and it resulted in him being bullied by them ...was that an answer? Probably not . So instead he grabbed his book and flipped the pages.

"Weren't the tents at the Quidditch World Cup located where muggles camped out as well? So they might have seen a kid flying on a broom or someone using magic at least a few times , right?" he asked.

Lucy raised her wand and said:"Professor when Lord Voldemort killed James and Lily Potter and he was
defeated by Harry Potter who was a child the entire wizarding community celebrated the event with fireworks and many feasts..At that time there was a danger that the wizards were discovered by the Muggles!

Wait...whaa?! No! UGH!

Those were the first four initial thoughts going through Sophie's mind. Why was this? Well, each time an answer to the question came to mind, some LOUD MOUTH blurted out Sophie's answer before Sophie could even raise her hand. So they weren't really loud mouths, but it made Sophie feel better to punish them, even if it was only in her thoughts.

So, take that!

"What about Petunia Dursley?" she asked, raising her hand. "She's the sister of Lily Potter, and I read where as a kid, she sometimes saw Lily doing magic, but she thought her sister was just strange for doing it." Petunia counted as a Muggle, right?

Adi waved back to Lux. "Hey, Kace!'' he said to the fourth year who made his appearance next. "Hi, AJ.'' And not too long afterwards, Ethan arrived. Adi grinned as he watched the other boy do his thing. Leave it to Ethan to be funny.

And there was the new Professor. The Hufflepuff hoped she wasn't going to make the subject and more boring than it already sounded. He liked her at once though. She looked excited about teaching them.

Yes, Adi could think of an event. "Dudley Dursley saw when Harry Potter cast the Patronus charms when the dementors were sent after him.''

People had some............ interesting entrances. There were cartwheels and singing and theeeeeeeeeeen............

.............. tapdancing.

Grayson tilted his head to the left, his eyes on the woman who had to be their professor. She had to be. And it turns out that she had been there the WHOLE time. HA. Some people had made a right ol' fool of themselves, hadn't they? And what he was taking from this little exercise was that they had to be as bold as possible. Let people know that they were THERE. For historical purposes and whatnot.

Cool. Noted.

Er. This question was a little harder, especially when answers were already flying around like well-crafted paper aeroplanes. Thank MERLIN that they could use their books. Heaving out his large book, he let it drop to the table with a THUMP! and flipped it open. Overrrrrrrr and overrrrrrrrrr and overrrrrrrrrrrr................ right up until he reached a section about the Statue of Secrecy. Because if there was anything about Muggle sightings of magical things, it had to be THERE.

And YES. There was something here was someone hadn't said, he was sure of it. "What about Carlotta Pinkstone?" he asked, his hand in the air, "There aren't any details in here about what she did but she was an activist who tried to list the Statue of Secrecy and tell Muggles about magic and whatnot. She basically just used magic in public, deliberately too, and was imprisoned for it quite a lot of times." Uh huh.

He was grumbling about things when he suddenly felt someone KICK his chair and anger built up in him suddenly. Really way to be R U D E. Turning on point to whisper!tell off whoever it was kicking his chair he blinked. "really!? could you n...." oh.......... noticing who it was his anger quickly subsided seeing Beverly. "you...... stopit." he was still whispering but his lips turned into a grin before he winked at her and turned away back to the front of the room.

But whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy stop now? THIS WAS THE BEST HISTORY CLASS EVER and Professor Party Pooper was already going down hill with boring history! Booooo.... booo..... Zahra wanted to hear more that HISTORICAL SONG. That was PROBABLY a wizard in a cool hat singing that jam.

.....Zahra was probably the last to stop dancing, almost as if she persisted, the Professor would change her mind about having real class....

He liked this professor already. Not memorizing things would be blissfull.

Did this professor know she was being SUPER nice to her students by doing that? WAS that even allowed in their secret professors code?

As far as her question went, Noel wasn't really planning on answering but then everyone started answering - and when Sophie said something about Lily Potter's sister. Noel chimed in: "What about the time Mr Potter turned his uncle's sister into a balloon?" He said, cackling in the end. It was funny.
