She watched the box house being offered to her, it took only seconds to know what it was and hearing it was from Cutty only made it better. Where was the guy anyway? She'd have to thank him. "Gee thanks." She said, reaching over to take it. "Did he say why?" |

It didn't surprize her to hear that the speech was bad. How many good ones had they ever had? Exactly. Lex took up her goblet of pumpkin juice and promptly did a spit take. "WHAT???????" Her eyes shot to the staff table before settling on the little lion again, hazel eyes wide and wild with disbelief. "Cancel WHAT??? They...they can't." hdvskjhfsjf....JBDKSFEGSYRGFISRGFKSRGIFSGR!!! NO. She set her goblet down, figuring further attempts at drinking might lead to choking. She didn't CARE about the security OR the bloody threats. Quidditch??? SERIOUSLY???? Was that what she wanted to speak with Mo and the others about??? Whaaaaaaaat? |

Adi couldn't stop grinning. "Sure you do, Angel. But you can't seem to call me that. I'm offended.'' Hehe. That offended part wasn't true. He was just teasing. "Benny and Angel sitting in a tree...'' the third year said in a sing-song voice. Oh Merlin! He was never going to let this go! |
SPOILER!!: Sir Nick! Exactly, no harm done. Tag nodded at Nick's words. They were all made of magic here at Hogwarts so any mess or trouble someone got into could be fixed up easily and made to seem as if nothing had happened. "No harm done. If you're still feeling a bit sick later on the Gryffindor prefects, either of them, can lead you to the hopsital wing if you need." Tag assured her. Gossip? If quidditch being cancelled was gossip than Tag didn't find it much gossip. Though, everyone had their own views and opinions on everything. "Do you have your eyes set back on the Grey lady as well?" Tag asked. This was kinda interesting, you know? Ghost gossip. Ghosts fancying each other. There's something Tag thought he'd never think. "And watch out, Nick, we don't want to lose the house ghost over here." It'd be a shame though. SPOILER!!: Lucy! And then it seemed Bree's friend, or Tag supposed, had came over and was making sure that she hadn't been sick anymore. Which Tag understood, and then she was introducing herself to him and asking questions. A bit chatty, but something Tag understood, especially being first year, there were so many questions. "Tag." said the blonde, smiling back at the younger one. He nodded at all her words and then answered her. "Its dark out right now, I highly doubt, with the threat the school has, and even with the extra security around the castle, you'd be allowed out right now. Even if there was no threat or security, the feast ends and everyone generally goes up to their dorms to sleep." Tag explained giving the girl a nod. "Tomorrow is best. And congratulations on joining Gryffindor." |
SPOILER!!: Angel and Adi Angel's suggestion certainly made sense from the information he had from books and others about Peeves. He was quite thankful he hadn't any real first hand knowledge on the poltergeist. "Um...sure...I guess that would be the best," he said in answer. "Best to keep his attention away from you and get tricked." And best to keep attention away from the topic of Angel and her possible crush on him. Which of course was very much drawn by the headmistress as she stood up and gave her speech. Security...check. The people not students or staff was kinda obvious in their presence. No quidditch?! Awww he was beginning to really like the sport from last term. And given the reactions of those around him including a certain lion prefect, he wasn't the only one disappointed by the news. Sigh. Bummer. "What?" he questioned, hearing his name as Angel asked Adi if the two of them would help her get settled in the school. "Sure I gu---" he started to answer, being brought up short once more. Now his bestie was starting to sing about him and Angel and he wanted to hide. "Don't make me tell Sophie..." he threatened, thinking of the first thing that might get him to stop with it. |
Zander needs a friend, anyone interested? Zander looked around the Gryffindor table quickly as he tried to remember all the faces. Though he was a third year, he spent the past two in the shadows. Didn't volunteer during lessons. Didn't care much about his marks. Didn't try to make new friends. He hadn't really warmed up to the idea of being away from all his friends back home. But after two miserable years at Hogwarts without any friends, he realized that he could not let himself stay invisible for much longer. Zander had a mission. A mission to make new friends, or at least a friend. |

O______________o Why couldn't Adi leave it alone. "I... I... eh." Angel was blushing she could tell. "I do, I just don't seem to be able to call you it." Angel lied, she hadn't called anyone cute before, she normally thought all guys were icky. She stared at Adi when he started to sing a song because she was getting upset, why couldn't he leave it alone. Quote:
"Who is Sophie?" Angel asked, was that Adi's girlfriend because if it was she was going to tell her all about her Adi was upsetting a first year at Hogwarts and how he had been really bad. so take that Mr Adi! Angel looked around and smiled as she ate something before speaking to Benny. "So C.. Benny what is there to do at Hogwarts when there's no lesson?" Angel had just heard about the cancellation of something called Quidditch. |

Sorry for the delay guys! <3 SPOILER!!: Angel Listening to Angel describe the possible food choices only made her stomach growl that much more. Really any food would be good at this point, but she was hoping for a bit more assortment. She wanted to try something new and exciting. ”I really want to try something new. AJ was about to talk more about food when she caught a weird gleam in her sisters’ eye as she looked at Benjamin. Hmm… what was going on there she wondered. ”Are your eyes okay? she asked while she gave Angel a playful poke. SPOILER!!: Benny This one didn’t seem like he ever had much to say. She decided to make a mental note on not playing 20 questions with him. AJ usually got a bigger response when she told somebody that she was a triplet, but Benjamin actually didn’t seem all that interested. He got his question answered and that seemed to suit him just fine. [/B]”It’s nice to meet you as well.[/B] Yup, Aj knew Adi alright, but it wouldn’t have been out of character for her to act very friendly to someone whom she had just met. ”We met at the sweet shop actually. He told me a very interesting story about some frogs actually.” She shot Adi a smile. SPOILER!!: Adi ”Gryffindor does seem cool and the people are great so far.” She had still yet to meet anybody from the other two houses. Well, there was her sister Abby, but she didn’t really count right? Did she have any more questions? That was like asking if the sky was blue. ”It’s pretty safe to say that I always do.” She was a bit off her game though because she was starving over here. ”When do we find out about our classes and stuff?” She needed to know when her lunch schedule will be. ”Will I only be able to go to class with the Gryffindors and the people in my grade?” Because everybody that she had met so far had been older than her and she was hoping to be able to see them more often, and an older student sure would be helpful for homework. As she was asking Adi a million questions she couldn’t help but to notice his hair. ”What kind of shampoo do you use?” she asked while combing her hand though his luscious locks. AJ never really cared about appearance much, but Adi’s hair was gorgeous… even she had to admit that. SPOILER!!: Candice Um… hi person that she was pretty sure that she never met before. Oh, she was talking to Angel and it looks like she just discovered that they shared the same face. ”Hi there, I’m Aubrey, but you can call me AJ.” So she was one of her housemates and she had to be about the same age as her. ”Actually we are triplets.” But, yes technically speaking AJ was a twin of Angel and now came the part to see how she would react to this. Back home everybody already knew about the Valentine triplets so she had forgotten how annoying it could be to have to explain this to people over and over again. SPOILER!!: Nearly Headless Nick Blink.Blink. You just had to be afraid of death. ”Who isn’t afraid of death to a certain extent anyways?” AJ didn’t want to die, but she didn’t know if that would really count as fear. She was just about to launch into a second set of questions when a familiar voice caught her attention. SPOILER!!: Ian ”Hey Ian! Thank you. Too bad we aren’t in the same house.” He was one of the cool people that belonged in Hufflepuff and one of the reasons why she wanted to be sorted there herself. She was liking the people that she was meeting so far in her house so she knew that it would all work out. ”Can you stay here and eat with us?” She really hoped that he could and that he wouldn’t have to go back to his own house table. It would be nice to be able to talk to him some more. |

He noticed that she looked down at how he was sitting and he wiggled his toes absently. "I've never heard anyone say you couldn't be bare-foot at the Start of Term Feast. Besides I forgot to pack my socks and my foot has a blister." Today had been such a rush. He quickly began to stuff his face with mac-and-cheese. SPOILER!!: Alexa, Penelope, and new firstie LUCY Ezra had a mouth full of mac-and-cheese and was going in for another one when someone sat down on his other side, the one not occupied by Candice. It was Prefect Alexa! HE was sitting with the PREFECT, and she chose to sit there, he hadn't even ask to sit with HER. "Hi A-LEHX-AH." The first year said with his mouth full, then a small apology after he'd swallowed the cheesy goodness. The Speech, yeah. Right. Ezra was about to tell her ALLL about the horrible Headmistress who had cancelled Quidditch for the year when another new face at the table spoke up, a girl who's name he didn't know. He waved at her though. When she was finished and Alexa-PREFECT was beginning to show shines of exploding Ezra spoke up. "Yeah, I was just sitting her talking to Penelope, you know her right?" Of course she did, duh! "Well we were talking about how cool Gryffindor was and how our mom's both were in Ravenclaw," he nodded at the older gril across from him as if checking his facts, "and then Truebridge goes and drops that waffle on us. LIKE A BIG WAFFLE." He slammed one of his empty shoes on the table for affect before taking another big bite of mac-and-cheese. "Penelope said she played Quidditch, did you Alexa? What position were you Penelope?" The boy was CURIOUS okay? He'd never played Quidditch with a girl before and according to their reactions to the announcement there could be TWO on the Gryffindor team! |
Adi was enjoying himself. When was the last time he got to tease a friend so much? After all, that's what best friends were for. Hehe. Poor Benny. Adi knew his friend wanted to disappear but Benny had no need to worry. He wouldn't carry on the teasing for long. But right now, not even the threat from Benny could make him stop. "Tell Sophie what?'' he asked innocently. "That I have a crush on her? I think she knows that already.'' Was Angel looking upset? Yes, she sort of was. Awww. Adi didn't want to upset on her first day at Hogwarts so he shut up. "I'm only stopping this because of Angel,'' he informed his bestie. "And don't worry about it, Angel. I've shut up now.'' Though he will surely resume some other time. "Sophie's my friend,'' the Puffer said. "I'm going to ask her to be my girlfriend soon, though.'' Oh yesh, he would. He hadn't told anyone that not even Benny but he figured it was time to let him know. Throwing the "lovebirds" a grin, Adi turn his attention to AJ. "Well, fire away,'' he said and tucked a bit of roast potato is in mouth. Gosh, he was hungry! Adi chewed as he took in AJ's questions. He swallowed before addressing them. ''You'll get that from your Head of House soon. Nope, you'll be having classes with other Houses so don't worry. You'll get to see me.'' Adi winked. Uh. What was AJ doing? O_o But he had to admit, AJ running her hand through his hair did feel good. Shampoo? "Um, I'm not sure. It has a picture of Iron Man on the bottle though.'' Like that would be a big help. "Mom usually gets them for me and I've never bothered to check the name.'' Anything with a superhero on it was good enough for him. |
Mentions of Angel and Benjamin as well. :) Quote:
Head of house right. "Which one is she?" If it was a girl anyways. "Can you point her out to me?" she asked looking at the staff table. "Cool. It will be nice knowing some older students." AJ didn't think too much into the wink as she herself was not boy crazy like her sister over there. "Iron Man is cool, but Batman is better." Obviously. Wait, she was asking him about shampoo and not his superhero preference. "Ypur hair looks so maintained." For lack of a better word. |

and hiii Penelope Quote:
Someone avada kadevra her now. UGH. SPOILER!!: Ezra and Penelope mentions Ezra talking with his mouth full didn't bother her that much. Nah, Aidan used to be worse and Lottie used to hate being forced to eat with him. This was nothing. "Yeah, I know her." Teammates up until last term and housemates. Penelope was one of the cooler ones. "Hey Penelope." She didn't know the girl's mother was a Ravenclaw. "That's neat. Mine was a Puffer but everyone thought she might as well be a Gryffindor." Just a little fun fact since they were sharing. Something to take her mind off the fact that someone just drove a spear through her heart; NO QUIDDITCH?? Good to know she wasn't the only one devastated by this, not from what Ezra was saying. "Our old Captain had me all over the place." So yeah, she did play Quidditch and would need to speak with Mo because....because he was a Ravenclaw and would know what to do? Because he was a Branxton? Maybe. "Started out playing Chaser but got to play Beater--that was my favourite, cracked Mo's skull once and broke some bones...but then Alice made me play keeper." The Gryffindor pulled a face. Never. Again. Possibly quite literally if they kept up with this rubbish. "Did she say what the threat was?" |
To Alexa, Ezra and Penelope Quote:
"Hi," she said to Penelope and Ezra .. Nice to meet you .. I hope we will become friends .. Then she turned to all three and said: "My mom always says that I'm "a glass half full person" but I believe that for every problem there is a solution .. I do not think that things will get so bad. You will find the way to play.. and at worst, you could play in hiding .. "Lucy said, winking at her new friends.. |
Quote:
Quidditch. That would be the talk of the castle for a couple of weeks, Tag supposed. Especially by those who were really into it. "I'm not one of those "quidditch is my life" people but I played on the team for three years. So i can live with the no quidditch, though the matches were fun. " Tag answered Lucy. |
Text Cut: Ezra, Alexa, Lucy Penelope simply nodded about knowing Alexa, even though the question hadn't been directed at her. The explanation got a single nod too, although she didn't agree with the waffle part. Waffles were good, THAT was not. It was an insult to waffles to compare the idea of no Quidditch to them. "Hey Alexa." Another nod, and her mum being a Puff was thought about briefly and then pushed to the back of her mind. There were more important things to think about than what houses their mums were in. What position did she play? "Seeker." And Keeper once, but that was all the way back in her first year for one game and it had been bad, so it wasn't important. Seeker was her thing, and she loved it. And missed it. Merlin, she missed playing Quidditch more than she realized. And no she didn't pay attention to what the threat was, if it was even explained, so she'd let Ezra explain if he knew. He seemed to have paid more attention than she had. Oh and another firstie. Find a way to play? In hiding? Hmm...there was a thought. "I like the way you think," she said with an approving nod. |
Anyone? :D You had better bet all your galleons that Demelza would be back at Hogwarts for the final year of her magical education. After everything that had happened last term, transferring to Hogwarts was the best decision she had ever made in her entire life. The place was obviously no WADA, but it could be debated that she was learning a ton about the noble art of acting. She got to have a professional photo shoot, proved to herself that she was the master of acting terrified Speaking of the future, apparently there wasn't going to be any Quidditch this year. Demelza did not think too much of this. Yes, she had made the team last year because, well, she was perfect at everything. But she never actually got to play the sport as her self-taught acting lessons got in the way. But one of her prefects and a number of other students were freaking out about this. Was she supposed to be that riled up about this, too? Awkward... Her mind wandered as she started playing with her hair. It was probably best to not say anything about Quidditch while it was a touchy subject. She would just sit back and observe ... that attractive man sitting by the headmistress. Why, hellooo! Was he part of security? Could she volunteer him as her personal bodyguard? She did not want Flamsteed, mostly because he wasn't very good at saving people from the Heir of Slytherin. Just saying. |
Text Cut: Demeiza Zander kept looking around the table for someone to talk to, but his search continued to be hopeless. It seemed as if everyone already had their own friends. Maybe he'd just keep quiet this year too. BUT WAIT. Could it be? There was hope for Zander after all! There was an older brunette sitting right across from him this whole time. So yes, he may have stared at her for a couple minutes before working up the courage to say anything. But hopefully she didn't notice... "Um, H-Hi there." His cheeks turned a light pink color as he noticed himself stutter a little. He hasn't even told her his name and he's already screwing things up. |
Quote:
Demelza blushed and immediately looked away from the staff table just in case. This was so awkward. And she did not even know if that man was in fact looking at her. She was tempted to risk another glance, but she feared that she had given herself away. Now was the time to play cool. Breathe in, breathe out. Fortunately for her, she heard a male voice that was coming across from her. With a quick blink, her eyes focused on the boy in front of her. She couldn't help but notice the pink in his cheeks. Either he was blushing or he was wearing a little makeup. Demelza assumed that he was blushing and gave him a warm smile. Aww. How adorable! "Hi," she replied, making sure to not look back at the staff table. "I'm Demelza Diggle. And you are?" |
Quote:
Demeiza Diggle he repeated to himself. He'd have to remember that for later. It was the first name he heard all day and if he remembered anything from this year's welcome feast, this would have to be it. Demeiza hadn't even made much of a reaction to his nerves and that comforted Zander. Hey, maybe she didn't even notice the stutter!? That, or she was nice enough to brush it off. Either way Zander liked this girl already. Just for that. "I'm, uh, Zander Adair." HA! Clear and concise. This was progress. And no blushing this time. Pft practically at a professional speaking level now. "It's really lovely to meet you." Wow. It's really lovely to meet you!? Did he really just say that out loud? Way to play it cool Zander. He silently cursed himself for that one. Maybe he should just stop now before he embarrasses himself any further. But he couldn't just end it here. No, that would be even worse that "lovely". "I'm a third year, what year are you in?" Okay that's enough. He'd have to work on this whole conversational thing. But it's only the welcome feast. There is time to grow. Or not to grow. But either way, there is time. |
Quote:
She turned her head ever-so-slightly to do so, but then the boy across from her started talking again. Demelza nodded her head when he told her that his name was Zander and flashed those pearly whites of hers at the mention of it being lovely to meet her. Well, naturally it would be. "It is nice to meet you too, Zander." There was a brief pause as Zander looked like he was deciding what else he should say. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Demelza made a quick glance at the staff table just to make sure she wasn't imagining everything about the man sitting next to the headmistress. Everything seemed to be going normally, as normal as things could get. She made a mental note to bump into Mr. Tall and Handsome later. Until then, there was a feast to enjoy. "I am a seventh year," she said, placing food on the plate in front of her. Her brown eyes then looked back at Zander. "Third year, though. Hmm. Is this your first year here?" Or maybe he was just too shy for her to notice him right away like the others? |
Quote:
Another smile? Wow. Either he must be doing something right, or she really just likes to smile. Hopefully it's the former, but either way a smile is never a bad thing, right? Yes right. He needs to stop doubting himself. He kept noticing the older girl looking over to the staff table. Did it have anything to do with the quidditch announcement? Or was he really doing such a bad job at trying to keep her interest? Woah. A seventh year?! His eyes must've doubled in size. Is he even allowed to talk to her?! Okay no. They're having a conversation and that must count for something. It's like that time his dad taught him division before subtraction. If you start with the difficult stuff, then everything else will be easy. So if he starts with a seventh year, then talking to everyone else won't seem as bad. Unless you count professors. That will be pretty bad no matter what. And here it goes. The million dollar question. Zander had been preparing for this one all summer. After realizing how potentially embarrassing it could be telling everyone that he didn't try to make friends his first two years, he needed some rehearsing. "Yeah-- I mean, no. I-I've been here since my first, but um. I was [am] really shy and I guess I just didn't really make an effort to reach out to anyone." To be quite honest Zander wasn't really aware of his lack of participation until his parents asked him if he wanted to see any of his friends over the summer. To which he had to respond, what friends? And yes, the past two years were dull and spent mostly under the covers reading comic books (each three weeks a new issue would arrive, basically the best investment of his life). But if he works really hard to make some new friends this year there'd be no harm done.... "But I'm not going to let that happen this year." Hopefully she'd see that. He was the one to initiate this conversation, doesn't that count for something? And by this rate he'll be a socialite in no time at all! Or at least by seventh year. |
Quote:
However, the risk of danger was pretty low at the present time. All of the staff and other security people were at the feast. The only real danger would be the Quidditch addicts rebelling, Cambridge in particular. Demelza had heard all the stories about her cracking skulls and breaking bones. But the odds were that she would be safe if there was a sort of rebellion. She was, after all, the one that didn't cancel the sport. Plus she could use Zander as backup, just in case. Before replying to Zander, she took a bite of food and nodded her head. So he was extremely shy. The slight stuttering and the blushing made sense now. Demelza gave him a sympathetic look. She never had been a shy person herself, but she could imagine what it must be like. "Well, you are definitely starting off in the right place. I could maybe help you out with a thing or two, if you are interested. I'm going to be a professional actress when I graduate, so being social and all of that is kind of my thing." |
