The building used for the Gobstones matches had had it's doors closed against the harsh, winter air and its surfaces magically dusted by Professor Botros and Mr. Kitridge, the school's Gobstones sponsors and made ready for the term's third preliminary match.

The red and blue marbles were set out and the playing 'field' had been marked. Chairs were set out on each side of the arena creating a Viewing Area for those not playing to watch.

Botros, standing next to Kitridge, watched Brown and Toussaint take a shot at their house's stones. The red and blue stones rolled few steps further into the board, the blue one stopping only a step behind the Gryffindor's one.

"Two points go to Gryffindor, good job." He gestured for them to get ready for the next turn already. Last one in this round.

They shot again. Brown's shooter hit the blue stone right on spot causing it to roll further across the board. Bay's shooter missed his red stone by just a hair's breath, it didn't move at all. Botros made a TSK sound, feeling the boy's misfortune.

"Ravenclaw wins this round." The old professor announced, moving a little closer to the board and hoping to Merlin this match would end before he turned into an icy sculpture.

Bay and Brown shot again. The Gryffindor player seemed to gain back his attention, he took the shot and the red stone rolled swimmingly further ahead. Brown missed hitting her stone entirely this time.

"A point goes to Gryffindor!"

Bay's shooter missed the red stone this turn while Brown's got it rolling further, closer to the Jack Stone. Only three rounds were left to conclude this game, both houses seemed to have alternative strong and weak rounds.

"Ravenclaw gets this turn." Botros had brought a chair and set it next to the 'field', the white mist coming out of his mouth proved how COLD it bloody was. He eyeballed the Librarian to refresh the warming spells around here. The professors in the audience too. *EYEBALLS*

Diggle took Bay's place for this next turn in the fifth round of the game, facing Brown still. He concentrated on the red stone, assumed the position and shot. The shooter connected with the edge of the stone sending it whirling sideways and further up ahead. The blue stone was missed by Brown's shooter, on the other side.

Bay stepped up for Gryffindor again, and this time he got his focus back. Both houses' players grabbed their shooters and swung at the stones. Neither one of them hit, though. Botros let out a low groan, feeling the cold get to him, and gestured for them to try again.

Diggle seemed to be growing impatient, too, he took the shooter from Bay and gave it a reckless but lucky swing, sending the red stone hurtling forwards, closer to the blue stone, VERY close. Brown gave him a glare, clearly unhappy with the recklessness.

"Gryffindor gets this turn. Shoot again, come on, come on." Botros tried to get their attention back on the game. Less staring, more swinging.

Diggle and Bay were standing next to each other, arguing over the shooter. Diggle swung it towards the red stone without waiting for Bay to let go, causing it to flyyyy to the other side of the hall. Miss Brown allowed herself to laugh openly at them, having made a successful shot for Ravenclaw.

Botros rolled his eyes and pointed at one of the boys to go grab the item and return to shoot again. "Ravenclaw gets this turn's points."

Bay and Brown shot again at their stones. The Gryffindor shooter missed while the Ravenclaws got their stone moving further and much closer to the Jack Stone.

Bay switched with another player, miss Angel Valentine, for the next round. Brown stayed put where she was and took the shot along with her Gryffindor peer. The stones rolled forwards, the blue one staying in the lead.

"Ravenclaw g-gets the first w-win in this round." Botros teeth might or might not be r-r-rattling at this point.

Valentine and Brown stayed for the next turn, shooting at their stones again. Brown was shaking a little with the cold mist coming out as clouds from her mouth, she missed the stone while Valentine, with a luck hit, got her stone rolling.

Bay took the shooter from his housemate Valentine, and took a shot at his red stone. The stones seemed to roll smoothly now over the icy-board. Both stones slid further, though the blue one was still ahead.

Bay and Brown seemed to be facing each other once again at the very end of today's match. Both stones rolled fairly easy, closing in on the Jack Stone, though the blue one was still gaining on.

"One more question to conclude the g-game!" Botros announced, too excitedly, and had stood up from his chair.

The players were trying to warm their hands and blowing on them before they took their next shot. Both stones were missed, leaving the stones where they were with the blue one in the front.

The last encounter between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw was concluded by the facing off between Bay and Brown. Both players did their best in this last turn with their shooting. The blue stone raced towards the goal and was the first to touch the Jack Stone, causing professor Botros to start applauding a little too enthusiastically-- not because it was Ravenclaw, but because it was finally over and they would all go back to their headquarters to warm some more.

"Ravenclaw wins!" He announced, clapping lightly, "Great game Gryffindors, you were fantastic as well. Thank you everyone for watching and taking time out of your lesisure time to enjoy this match today. One last match is left in the season so make sure to attend that as well. Today's player of the match is miss Sophie Brown, thank you for your dedication, dear." He offered the girl a smile then another smile to Mr. Bay. "Off you go to your common rooms for some warm tea and cookies!" He ushered everyone out, out, out.
