Gobstones Consolation Match: Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw

http://i827.photobucket.com/albums/z...atchBanner.jpg
The building used for the Gobstones matches had had it's doors closed against the harsh, winter air and its surfaces magically dusted by Professor Botros and Mr. Kitridge, the school's Gobstones sponsors and made ready for the term's third preliminary match.

The red and blue marbles were set out and the playing 'field' had been marked. Chairs were set out on each side of the arena creating a Viewing Area for those not playing to watch.
OOC: Remember only members sorted into Gryffindor and Ravenclaw Houses can post in this thread, it is not a chat thread and there is no rping.

Read the Gobstones Rule book before playing and if you did last term, please check again because it's been updated and changes have been made.

Mr Kitridge had walked in with his hands stuck in his coat pockets against the chilly morning air, the Ancient Runes Professor had graciously set up the hall for the third match so Leo could focus on lighting the fireplaces and getting warmed up. As the teams assembled he put his wand to his mouth to enhance his whistle to get the players attention. "Good morning and welcome to the Gobstones club, today's our consolation match and third game of the season, I hope you're all as excited and geared up as I am." Not waiting for any responses Leo quickly signalled for the teams to choose their representatives for the first shot of the game.

"Let's begin!"

Sophie Brown and Victor Bay marched out with the shooters for their houses. The two players swung their shooters and kicked their stones forwards. The blue stone rolled past several obstacles before it stopped. The red stone rolled and rolled until it had just surpassed it's opponent before it stopped.

"First point of the game goes to Gryffindor!" Leo announced.

Botros, standing next to Kitridge, watched Brown and Toussaint take a shot at their house's stones. The red and blue stones rolled few steps further into the board, the blue one stopping only a step behind the Gryffindor's one.

"Two points go to Gryffindor, good job." He gestured for them to get ready for the next turn already. Last one in this round.

Diggle of Gryffindor and Brown of Ravenclaw marched out for a new battle. The players nudged the stones of their houses, the red stone surpassed the blue one significantly and stopped at a decent distance from the Jack Stone.

Blue gob was sent the Lions' way. "Points for Gryffindor at the end of this round. Gryffindor leads 6-0. Come on eagles!" Leo cheered on. It was more fun if the match was close.

Magical Soul 06-15-2014 07:03 PM

Both Third years seem to be confused about the shooter, holding it upside down and failing to kick any stones. Tsk tsk tsk. Botros made a sign with his hand so that they held it right and tried again.

Advisor's note: The question caused a little of confusion, it was referring to any two potions. So, we're going to throw it out and ask a new one.

Brown and Bay stayed for another turn yet. Brown had taken the hand of the younger Ravenclaw and placed her next to the shooting position to teach her the right way of Gobstones. Then both played shot. The stones were nudged by their respective players, though the red shooter hit the board and missed the red stone, giving the chance for the blue one to catch up to it. "Ravenclaw wins!" He announced, clapping lightly, "Great game Gryffindors, you were fantastic as well.
