Go-Kart Race
|
for Shan/ Simon <3 Were those engine sounds he was hearing? Adi had to investigate. He edged towards the stairways only to be confronted with...Go Karts and a race track! A Go- Kart race! So awesome! But apparently he was the only one there so far. No matter. He'd strap himself into one of the Karts and wait for someone to turn up. So, Adi did just that. He eyes the course. Shouldn't be too hard to do one lap, right? |
To say that Dora had been going stir crazy would be the understatement of the year. This prefect had a thing about being confined, and the shut in had brought out it and all the worst sides of her. She was just barely managing to stay sane. Distractions were needed, while this prefect event wasn't the best of them, it was a different one and managed to get Dora's involvement. Mostly this station since she hadn't been able to drive anything for over a month now. She missed her motorcycle. And other things. Making her way out of her common room in a Magpie sweatshirt and a dark miniskirt, she sauntered over to the starting line up and settled herself into one of the carts. The prefect had no intentions on taking these things for another test drive, but she was taking this job very serious and planned on chasing down and hexing anyone who didn't follow the rules. Hence her wand being out. There was an small thing here already though, and she eyed him speculatively. No talking. That was the job of the other two. Where were they anyway? |
For Felix! :3 Now…where is Kyroh? Ethan rubbed his right eye, which still stings, by the way as he made his way towards the stairways. The kid probably dashed off towards the Ravenclaw tower now, yeah? Merlin, he felt bad for Cutty…and for Kyroh too. He looked really freaked out with the roaches. Ethan squinted his eyes as he trained his hearing towards…a sound. An engine? And…why was there a track? Oh! Ooooh. Is it part of the Prefect event thingamajig? He did saw the notice back in their Common Room, which the Head Boy pinned on their noticeboard before heading out to see Cutty. Go Karting! This is awesome! Ethan wore a grin on his face, and decided right then and there that he’ll give it a go. It’s been a while since he rode one. How many summers ago was that? Two? Three? Maybe more. As the third scanned at the karts, he caught sight of Adi already strapped in…and an older student nearby. The Slytherin gave the Hufflepuff a wave, and quickly chose a kart. The fourteen year old wiggled on his seat, making sure he was snug, and strapped himself in. Now…time to review the pedals. Hmm. |

Toby found the group of Go-Karts grouped together in no time, and noted immediately that they weren't using the whole 'one size fits all' thing. That was good. He hunted around for a kart that didn't expect him to stretch ridiculous amounts to reach the pedals, and soon happened upon one of the smaller karts available. It was sat there right beside another student who looked about Toby's age, and who he knew by sight, but not by name. Toby gave him a friendly smile as he took a seat in his own Go-Kart and kind of got a feel for how to sit and where the pedals were. This thing has a seatbelt, right? |
Tag/Lexington :3 This Prefect's event was the BEST THING EVER. Why? GO-KART RACING. And the paintball fight! Which he was DEFINITELY going to go to afterwards. Uh huh. It looked like it was going to be a LOT of fun and the boy would certainly kick himself if he didn't manage to drop in there and shoot people with paint. Somewhere that the fourteen year old was SURE that he was NOT going to go to was the Butterfly Hunting. Nope. That didn't interest him at all. He was even pretending that that section didn't exist for the time being. Right now, Grayson was searching for the start of the race and this had led him aaaaaaaaaaaaall the way up to the seventh floor. Sure, he was tired at this point but it was going to be worth it. Uh huh. A wide grin spread across his face at the sight of the banner and then at the sight of the actual go-karts themselves! The only thing missing was.......... a worthy victim. Someone he could challenge to this. There was some Hufflepuff guy over there and an older student in a miniskirt, bookstore boy Toby andddddd ETHAN! 'Sup! Waaaaave for you! Then his eyes went back to the karts and he observed them carefully. He wanted to pick the best one, you know? One that looked good and would drive around quickly. Meanwhile......... victim waiting? Victim waiting. |
anyone! Theodore really needed some fun in his life, and he certainly wasn't going to find it at the sissy butterfly hunting thing. Naturally, the go-kart race was his first choice, so here he was with his hands stuffed in his pockets and a certain swagger about his walk. Totally putting it on, of course. Theo had to maintain his cool. He jumped straight into a kart without hesitation and looked over at the other participants. He gave Dora a sneaky two fingered salute, and then gripped the wheel tight with one hand and used the other to slide through his hair. Slick. |
Had she walked around the track twice that morning to make sure it was okay? Yep. Was she avoiding people by doing that? Exactly. She'd also headed over and gotten some food because being up on the seventh floor was inconvenient for her hunger needs. Breakfast and something to cover the whole day. Tugging her jumper arms over her fingers, Els traipsed over in Dora's direction, noting the fact the other girl had her wand out. Hers was close by, but not out. In her leg holster, actually. "Planning on hexing them before they get started?" It was a good idea, she supposed. In other news though; "I brought us up some food and drinks. Stole 'em before the rugrats could get to them." Did she want anything now? No? Too busy waiting for someone to do something wrong and need hexing? So she just watched the kids that were already there. Hi there Adi duck. Hi Theo. Of course he'd jump in and look cool in a kart. What was he doing with his hair? Weird, attractive kid. |

Since there weren't really any seats up by Ethan, he made his way over to find an empty race kart near a familiar Hufflepuff boy. Adi? Was that his name? He'd seen him around the school a couple times. "Hey! Ready for the race?" asked Simon as he hopped into the go kart and strapped himself in. |
Quote:
The Slytherin did a final check on his kart, then tugged on the straps, when Simon walked over to him to get the next kart positioned on his right. Wait, what? Why was Simon switching karts? Ethan did a double take…and, “You’re not Simon. You look like my best bud, but you’re not him.” Ethan staaaaaared long and hard at the Hufflepuff, then quickly glanced at Simon who was up front. Okay. This is…confusing. Was the weather messing up with his brain again? Ethan slowly turned his gaze towards Simon's look-alike, his mouth ajar. |
Quote:
Toby looked up at the kid next to him, blinking in confusion. You're not Simon. That was an odd thing to say. What this some kind of code? But then the other boy continued and the mystery was over. Toby followed the other boy's gaze to see another kid who looked................. familiar. Wait... was THAT Simon? Was THAT who he looked like? It was hard to tell; suddenly, Toby couldn't remember what he himself looked like at all. So he looked at the boy beside him again. "No, I'm not Simon," he agreed quite confidently. "I'm Toby." The Hufflepuff smiled slightly. Hi. Toby. That me. |
Quote:
Toby. Toby? Ethan slightly jerked and got the letter he got from Ella from weeks ago. It says there to find a Hufflepuff kid named…Tobias. And that Kyroh said earlier that this Tobias kid goes by the name of Toby. Oh…Ohhhh. It looks like he finally found him! “I’m assuming that Toby is your nickname. Am I correct…Tobias?” he asked as he looked at the boy from Ella’s note. Merlin, please say you’re him. |

Then, he saw it. The go-karts. Perfect. This was Tag's kind of game. He went over to the selection of the go karts and got inside the green one. Of course. There was no other choice. But, now to race someone. Tag took his seat and looked around for a worthy competitor. He turned the engine on of the kart and made his way over to that stupid slytherin boy who did that silly collar thing with his shirt. BUMP BUMP, went the go kart against the kids shoes. That should do the trick. It wasn't a hard bump either, really soft. Tag didn't want to run him over. Yet. Hehehehehe. "Hey! You! Pick a kart. We're racing. No questions asked." That's right. Tag was actually going to race against him. The blonde made a sharp turn with his kart and parked it behind the strip of the starting line. He'd actually wait for the kid. |
Quote:
He was looking for a VICTIM, not to be ATTACKED, thank you very much. Mind keeping the go-kart AWAY from his shoes? Thank you. And who was the culprit? Sassy Loony. Of course. OF COURSE. Who ELSE would do something like that? And he had a NAME, by the way. "That's a nice way to greet someone," he said, rolling his eyes at the blonde seventh year. But he was amused. Why? HE HAD SOMEONE TO RACE NOW. And who better to race than the sassiest person he knew, eh? So, Grayson got into the go-kart closest to him. Surprisingly, the kart wasn't too big or too small for him. It was just about right. The right size for his feet. GOOD. He readjusted himself into a comfortable sitting position before driving up to the starting line where the other boy was. Sure, this wasn't like driving an actual car but the boy liked to think that it was. "Hope you're ready to go down." SMIRK. |
Anyone else as well! SPOILER!!: Dora and Theo Cassie was very excited about this prefect event. She had heard they were working super hard, so of course she was going to go and support them and see what exciting things there were to do. Being that her tower was up at the seventh floor her very first thing she heard was the sounds of the Go Karts. She blinked and headed towards the sounds. As she walked towards the starting line of the Go Karts, Cassie couldn't help but Snap with excitement. Looking at the female Ravenclaw Prefect she beamed, "This looks fun, how do you start them?" She had never been near Go Karts before. She didn't have an ounce of boyishness in her body and it showed by her high heels that she sported to a field day event. Though she refused to think that there was anything you couldn't do in heels. "So can Professors try too?" She'd give it ago, maybe race some students if she could figure out how to get in it and start it. Looking towards the male Head boy she tried to see how he was in it. "Are you going to race? You'll go easy on a professor won't you?" She was just joking of course, but she'd have to figure it out before the racing happened. |
Quote:
So, obviously Grayson would be the one going down. It seemed that his loser, excuse us, competitor was ready to go. Good, they could get started on Shirt Boys defeat. Tag would start the race, yes? It was only fair. He was in the better house, and clearly the better looking one out of the two. Logic. His girlfriend could account for the looks. "On three we start the race." Tag said, giving Grayson a nod. He'd try to play fair, but like he said, there is not friendship in go kart, just enemies and competition. "I'll count us off, yeah?..... One.... two...." Before he could even say three Tag pressed his foot down, hitting the gas pedal and started zooming across the seventh floor corridor. His driving swerving a bit as he tried to gain control of how to turn the wheel with good accuracy. So, yes, the gryffindor was go karting in dangerous S shapes. AWESOME. |
Quote:
"I guess it is, yeah," he nodded, looking thoughtful for a second. "A lot of people call me Toby, some people call me Tobias." Like Ella in particular. He'd always kinda liked that she stuck with his full name, even if he now introduced himself as the shortened version of his name. "Tobias Tempus." Heh. It was an odd name. "Why'd'you ask?" Toby added. |
Quote:
The face though. It was still so weird to be conversing with Simon’s look-alike with a different accent. “Anyway. We should race!” Yes, yes. That’s why they are there, no? Oh and look. Professor Cassie was here to join them! Although…he wasn’t quite sure if she’d be comfortable racing with what she’s wearing right now. “Do we…just start our engines now and start the race? Or…do we wait for more participants?” Ethan looked around and saw that nobody has started yet. Hm. |
For Syd/Dylan & Anyone! :3 What was that loud noise she was hearing? It was a very unfamiliar sound that wasn't used to, so what better way to go & explore it, right? Josie's blue eyes had immediately gone to a banner that read 'Go-Kart Race' & she raised an eyebrow. Was that the cause of all of this noise? Only one way to find out, right? The second year walked passed the banner & walked towards a track where she saw multiple loud looking karts of some sort. These definitely weren't those bumper cars that she'd ridden once last term in Muggle Studies. These had wheels & they were very loud. ...Were they dangerous? Josie cautiously made her way towards the go-karts where she saw a lot of people already sitting in karts waiting to go. ...Maybe she should jump in one too & join in the fun? |

Ella. Just like that, Toby's face split into a wide grin and he glanced at the parchment Ethan was waving around. A letter? Probably. "Ella, huh?" the fifteen year old practically beamed at the mention of the older girl, his basically-big-sister. "She told you about me?" Ella, bringing people together even when she wasn't even here. That made sense on so many levels. "Sure, we're definitely friends," Toby said enthusiastically. Any friend of Ella's, after all. "You can call me Tobias, I don't mind at all." Oh yeah, racing. Got a little bit distracted there, as per usual. Toby looked around at the other students in Go-Karts, the prefects in particular, and wondered if perhaps they would explain when they were to set off, or it they could go whenever. "I'm not sure," he said thoughtfully, looking back to Ethan again and giving a shrug as his fingers tapped rhythmically on his steering wheel. "I suppose we'll know if they start driving," Toby added, gesturing his head towards the prefects and that one professor. |

It looked really good today, did he know? Quote:
Giving some of the kids warning glances (she really WOULD hex them) she motioned to a free cart with her wand. "You can join me if you like." Quote:
"There's a peddle inside the cart." Just one, and hardly missed. Her eyes cut to the woman but her wand flicked at a go-cart a little further away from the one she'd motioned to for Elodie. "Runs off magic, and yeah." Shrug. "You can have a go." But if she got stuck, she wasn't helping her out. Or anyone for that matter. |
Quote:
But he was especially excited for go-karting! He had went with his brother a few times and it was SO fun. The badger ran as fast as he could over to the go-karts eagerly, his long hair flying behind him. He was so very full of energy today... When he reached them, he noticed his friend Josie standing there eyeing the go-karts. She looked a bit uneasy about them or something. D'awwww. Smiling, the third year made his way over and stood next to her. "Hello," he said. "You gonna go in one of the go-karts?" he then asked, turning his head to look at her with a smile. |
Mention of Elodie too ^_^ SPOILER!!: Simon <3 Oh goody! More persons were arriving. Someone to race soon, perhaps? And look! There was his Super Els. She got a wave from him. He must remember to tell her great job with organising the event. Of course there were others who helped...but still. Els was a apart of this. The third year was distracted by another student. He looked around and noticed a Slytherin dude getting into the Kart next to his. A familiar Slytherin dude he'd often seen in the company of Ethan. Was Simon his name? "Hi!'' Adi said. "Ready as I'll ever be.'' He grinned broadly, feeling totally up to the challenge. "You all set?'' |
SPOILER!!: Adi! "You're Adi, right?" he said, really hoping that this was Adi. If not then this whole encounter could turn out to be really awkward and Simon didn't need anymore awkward situations. Sheesh. He and Agatha were ALREADY in a very awkward situation. But maybe only girls got that way? Maybe with another lad, the two of them would just laugh it off and go on with life. That seemed more likely to him. "I think so. I'm not sure if we're waiting for someone to send us off or something," he said as he eyed the Professor and student leaders in front of them. Was someone going to appear out of nowhere to notify them to start the race? Or would they have to do it themselves? |
