Front Gate http://i1149.photobucket.com/albums/...ps80bd00dc.jpg Image credited to Govoni A strong iron gate with two giant statues of winged boars on either side, is the main entrance in and out of Hogwarts Grounds. Through out the school year, the Front Gate remains closed at all times with the use of powerful enchantments and is only opened when the trips to Hogsmeade are. Faculty members are the only ones who can undo the enchantments and open the gate to prevent the students from sneaking out. |
twinward The Aurors and Wand Weighers and whoever else Browne had sent over weren't the ONLY people keeping this castle safe, ya know. Bunz was also doing her best to be out and about and present more, in front of the students and within the corridors and etc. Today's first stop: the front gate. It was not yet a Hogsmeade weekend, so no one was going in or out. The redhead's stiletto boots made pleasant crunching sounds on the gravel drive as she marched down to the gate, her wand already out and being tapped in her hand as though it were a |
Twin!! Quote:
He'd taken to laying in his grass at home when his next door neighbors had moved in and he didn't want to play with their annoying little kids. So when he'd go in the backyard and they were in their's the boy would drop to the ground and lay in the grass and cloud or bird watch for a bit. No one was here now bothering him but he'd just gone tree-climbing and was WORN OUT and decided to lay down for a bit before heading up to the Castle for dinner. As he layed there he heard a crunching sound and he rolled over onto his back and peered at the lady. "Enemy target approaching main gate." the first year whispered through the blades of class that tickled his nose. She was a dark witch and he was a guerrilla auror! |
oh dear....... xD Quote:
She was just marching along, her eyes doing their usual sweep of the grounds as she patrolled, when she heard something. And the noise appeared to be coming from the grass. Now, ordinarily she wouldn't be so suspicious/paranoid, but WELL a CRAZY PERSON had just made a threat against her school! HER SCHOOL! Where there were now precious CHILDREN trying to get an EDUCATION! So what was she to do?! Stop, freeze, and stick her wand out. The redhead dropped into a crouch, keeping her center of gravity low and her arm out and going around in a circle. Heeeeeeere little noisemaker, make your little noise again.... She wasn't opposed to using Javy's duck duck goose as target practice, for example... |

Hehe. The Gryffindor couldn't hold in his laughter at the site of her squatting down like that and beginning to wave her arm and wand around. He layed down as flat as he could, deeper into the grass before pulling out a tiny acorn he'd found up in a tree on the pathways the day before. He slooooooowly placed it in his palm in front of his face and FLICKED IT towards the red head! INCOMING!!! |
Quote:
...did not take kindy to having things thrown at her. "MASTERSON!" the redhead exploded, popping out from her squatting position like a rocket from its booster pack. She pointed her wand at the offending acorn that had harmlessly bounced off her head and instantly exploded it into a million little pieces. Then she calmly stomped out the pieces, because a forest fire was the last thing Hogwarts needed. "THAT'S WHAT'S COMING TO YOU TOO!" she shouted again at the empty air, at her invisible opponent. And then she started marching toward the front gate once more. |
Quote:
That had not been the desired affect of the acorn projectile but it certainly was HILARIOUS! Ezra REALLY couldn't hold in his laughter this time and smashed his face into the ground in order to try and stifle it. She WOULD HEAR HIM! Shhhhh! The dark witch was a nut and she would blow him up like that acorn and whoever MASTERSON was. EEP! hahahaha. |
Quote:
If it DID turn out to be Constantine Masterson, she was going to have a stroke. "Homenum Revelio," the redhead murmured as she continued through the grass, her eyes scanning every blade for a possible suspect... |
*cackles* Quote:
Ezra layed as still as he could in the grass wishing to be invisible. There had to be some spell for that, right?? Only if he moved to get his wand Truebridge would see him and call him an acorn thrower not to mention the fact he didn't know how to conjure something like that and it was probably pretty advanced magic. He was out of luck. He'd missed the fact that she had cast something during her pursuit and he suddenly felt a swooshing sensation just over his back. SHE CAST A SPELL TO FIND HIM! DRATS. Ezra was caught lying in the grass. What was he going to do.... "HELP, OWWW! MY HEAD!!!" The Gryffindor jumped up from the grass and began to run around, hand clasped to the back of his head. "SOME MAN THREW AN ACORN AT ME! I THINK HIS NAME WAS MASTERSON! OWWWW!" Flails and arm waving. Was it working? |

Her wand was still pointed at him from between her crossed arms. "He told you his name before he threw an acorn at you?" she reacted calmly |
For one Pat Cosgrach, with an extra coat not to shiver in this COLD weather (one wouldn't believe it was autumn), was walking aimlessly on the grounds. It was one nice Saturday, away from the lessons and the hustle and bustle of the school. He'd run to the grounds right after breakfast to avoid needy students, and here he found himself, staring at the massive doors and looking thoughtful. |

Having been cooped up in her dorms for longer than most, the prefect grabbed her bag and slung it over her shoulders, taking to the grounds to put some distance between herself and the castle. The gates weren't her favorite place to be when they were locked, nor were they that far from the castle, but she noticed the professor there in passing and paused thoughtfully before heading in his direction. "Plan on going somewhere, Professor?" She stopped short beside him, glancing out past the bars and down the path she knew all to well. |

Cosgrach turned to find a first year or someone, the type that wouldn't get the hint that he wanted to be alone. So, upon seeing Ms. Miroslava, he was surprised. He was also glad. He didn't know much about her, but she seemed like the type to like silence, so she and he would get along well now. "I wish, yeah," he casually answered and eyed her. "How about you?" She even had a bag. |
Quote:
"What's stopping you then?" She tilted her head up at him inquisitively, but didn't seem over eager about knowing, just curious. A shrug rolled off her shoulders at his response and she managed to turn her gaze back to beyond the gates. "My wishes are bigger than yours, professor." Maybe she'd go another day... but not today. |
Quote:
Huh? What was that supposed to mean? He frowned in confusion and eyed her. "What are your dreams, then?" |
Quote:
Shrugging she slowly turned her eyes back on him, "Just that I have more reason to want to be on the other side of these gates than you do. No one's paying me to stay." Not that it would have been an incentive, but still. |
Quote:
"I'm sure you can be on the other side if you want," he said, "I mean, you must know a secret passage." He, only the other hand, had to tell Annie. Responsibility and all. He had that. |
Quote:
Did he really think she'd tell a professor about secret passages out of the school? He must have forgotten he was talking to a Ravenclaw. Dora shrugged innocently. "All the secret passages were blocked off years ago. No way for me to come and go on my own accord." |
Quote:
"So are you Russian? Or have Russian roots?" He was asking casually, but his heart was beating slightly faster in anticipation. |
Quote:
"I'm a few things, but Russian is what I identify with, yes Sir." Raised there and all. She leaned against the gate, hands tucked behind her. "What about you, Professor?" |
Quote:
"I'm Scottish," he said as his voice came out proud. Scottish were like that, y'know. Proud of their nationality. "I lived there briefly, y'know. I was generally in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, but I've spent a winter and spring in Russia too." He wanted to ask her why she chose Hogwarts, but again, it wasn't his business. Alas. |
Quote:
"So you went here, then? What house?" She figured him either a Ravenclaw or Slytherin, but one couldn't tell so much when they got older. It was easier to show qualities of multiple houses as you aged, depending on who your friends were. Oh, and he lived there too? Dora was moderately impressed. "I've been to those areas. Did you stay there and Russia for potions, or other interests?" It was obvious that the Ravenclaw didn't mind asking questions so much as she minded answering them. |
Quote:
She had? It was his turn to be impressed further. "I went to Kazakhstan and Afghanistan to study ancient potions, and once my studies were done, I had more studying opportunities. So I stayed and I met a woman." He looked away. Somehow he looked sadder, even though he tried his best to hide it. "I got married to her," he said directly as nonchalantly as he could, but if she looked closer, she could tell there were some deep emotions there. "But it didn't work out, so here I am." He smiled then, and his mood was back to 'casually gloomy' again. "Why did you come here instead of Durmstrang, if I may ask?" He wouldn't mind it if she said he may not, though. He wasn't sout about those kind of things. |
Quote:
Dora listened to him explain the reasons for him being so far from Scotland back in his youth she assumed it to be, when he started to mention a woman. The change in his expression didn't go unnoticed by Dora, but she wasn't one to pry on these things unless it concerned someone she cared about deeply. "They have excellent potion's masters down in Kazakhstan. I've not delved too deeply into ancient ones, but it is part of my studies." Ancient studies being one of the few classes she was taking this year. That was the only comment she'd say on that though. "All of my family went there, and still goes there." She shrugged nonchalantly. "I wanted to go someplace apart from them. Someplace of my own, and I Hogwarts is the best so it's to here I came." Dora got what she wanted too, with no regrets considering the friends she'd made while here. |
Liam/Angel Disappointed. That's the first word that came to her mind after Gryffindor lost to Hufflepuff in the Gobstones match. Its her first time playing Gobstone. Its a very fun experience but she HATE losing especially to her brother former house. She could practically see her brother smug smile and all that speech she should be in his house. WAIT. Where was she? How did she get herself here in the front gate? Frown. |
