Default Divination Lesson 2, In the kitchen

Just as the fortune cookies said on the notice board, the kitchen is where the next Divination class was being held. With the Divination Tower so cold Professor Cassie wanted a warmer place and possibly a happy and fun lesson to bring some warmth to the students.

Setting on a tray right at the door, Cassie had the house elves make enough hot chocolate for all the students. The house elves that had agreed to help during this lesson, since Professor Cassie knows nothing about ovens, cooking, or baking, are busy getting everything ready.

As you enter the kitchen you will find that there are chairs around the tables for a work space. You will also find a familiar snap cup sitting near where Professor Cassie is standing. Remember what to do? If not there is a parchment with the instructions just like last time.

Quote:
Once you find a seat at one of the tables pull out a piece of parchment and write one thing that you are proud that you have done or someone else has done today. Then come forward and place it into the cup. Head back to your seat and enjoy the hot chocolate!

"I'll go start the oven, yeah? That should save us time..." If Simon asked, his best friend is now a master when it comes to the Fire Making Spell. How many times did he actually burn the Aparecium articles? He lost count. Ahem. Anyway. "Incendio!" Fiiiyaaaaaaaaah.

Now that two steps are done, Ethan consulted his notes and checked it off the list.

SPOILER!!: Recipe!
Ingredients
2 eggs (whites only), use the yolks for something else
1/2 tsp. (2.2g) of vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. (2.2g) of almond extract
3 tbsp. (41g) of vegetable oil
8 tbsp. (62.5g) of flour
1 1/2 tsp. (4g) of cornstarch
1/4 tsp. (1.5g) of salt
8 tbsp. (100g) of sugar
3 tsp. (15g) of water

Steps

1.Make fortunes, use the shrinking charm reducio to make the parchment small enough to fit into the cookie.
2.Using your wand heat preheat the oven.
3.Combine all the ingredients and mix well until dough is smooth.
4.Place tablespoons of batter onto a cookie sheet, space them around 2 inches apart.
5.Bake for fifteen minutes or until golden brown.
6.Remove cookie and place parchment in the middle, fold the cookie over.
7.Form into fortune cookie shape.
8.Place cookies into a muffin tin to hold their shape. Let cool for ten minutes.
9.Decorate if you like.

Simon returned with the measurements and ingredients after having carefully juggled them past the various moving students and house elves. Brilliant. "Awesome thought," he said nodding as he gave his mate a thumb's up. Ethan was really good at that fire spell. Like he really good. He wondered if Ethan had spent plenty of times practicing burning the silly little gossip magazine. "I grabbed some extra mini bowls so it would be easier to separate the eggs into yolks and whites," he said as he picked up an egg. He tapped it against the side of the bowl, cracking it, and then pressed lightly on the shell to cause it to break it in half. Scooping up the yolk in the egg shell, he let the egg whites lazily drip into the small bowl. Then he did this again with the other egg. With the two egg shells remaining, he quickly discarded them into the closest trash bin and washed his hands.

Next, he measured out half a teaspoon of vanilla and almond extract. Then he measured out the correct amount (3 tablespoons) for the vegetable oil. Placing all of those into the bowl that had the egg yolks in it, he quickly scooped up 8 tablespoons worth of flour and then placed them in that bowl. Eying the recipe for the correct amount of the remaining ingredients that he should put in, Simon began measuring and pouring them into the bowl. Soon enough, he had added the water and had picked up the spoon.

The boy began stirring the mixture, applying as much force as needed to move the dough around. Phew. His arm was growing tired. There must have been an easier way to do this, right? He smirked and then quickly pulled out his wand and cast a charm that enabled the spoon to continue stirring the mixture around.

Once everything was mixed in well enough (or what he deemed well enough), he turned to Ethan. "Alright, the next step is...putting the batter onto the cookie sheet a couple of inches apart?"

After setting up the cookie sheet with some parchment paper (so the cookies wouldn't burn), Simon grabbed two teaspoons and handed one to his mate. "I figured the two of us working together on this step could speed it up, Holmes. We have to put them at least two inches apart," Then Simon set off to work. Scooping and placing onto the cookie sheet.

Alright now he added all the ingredients. He saw the dough was nice and smooth and now he needed to check his next step. He knew he crossed off step 1,2 and 3 now onto Step 4.

SPOILER!!: List

Ingredients
• 2 eggs (whites only), use the yolks for something else

1/2 tsp. (2.2g) of vanilla extract

1/2 tsp. (2.2g) of almond extract

3 tbsp. (41g) of vegetable oil

He got his hand on another tablespoon and cleaned it off. He began to scoop his tablespoon onto a cookie sheet. He scooped one at a time. But wait he needed to use cooking spray. He got some and sprayed it on. He plopped one down. Then he measured 2 inches apart to give them room to grow. Once he figured it out, he plopped them down and once he was done, next was to put it into the oven.

Was there a way they could do something he was actually good at because the kitchen just was his element okay? With that in mind, the third year knew he needed a partner for this activity. One that was older and wiser and stuff. Zander looked around the room very carefully. He was on a hunt! AHA Mr. Group Leader Grayson looked available! Which was kind of funny because wasn't Sophie Newell taking this class too? Anyways. No Sophie Newell, we NEED this guy more than you do. Seriously.

Watching the other tables as he went, Zander made his way up to the fourth year in mention. "Heeeeey, Grayson wanna partner up?" Because he was desperate okay. Major new of a partner here and last time he checked Grayspn hadn't set his muggle studies pizza on fire. So he would do. Whaddaya say Grasyon? Pleeeeeaaasseee?
Grayson was standing there, model-like, with an imaginary sign over his head that would probably read something along the lines of:

Perfect, wasn't it? And it had WORKED, too.

A small smirk spread itself across Grayson's face as he noticed the boy coming towards him out of the corner of his eyes. Really, he didn't want to be paired up with someone who'd make him do all the work. He wanted to be paired up with someone cool. Someone who would understand him, in a sense. So, Zander was more or less perfect.

"'Sup, Zander" he said, giving the Gryffindor a nod and even a smile because he was nice -- SNORT! -- like that, "'Course, I will! I think we'll make a brilliant pair." Confidence and all. This Slytherin had some of that. "First thing to know is that we're going to make the best cookies ever, mkay?" It was decided. Now. At whatever time it currently was.

"Soooooooo how good are you with Reducio?" It was their first step and all.

The Idea Man Kori-Kins

Angel now had to bake the cookies for 15 minutes or until the were golden brown, she had looked to see if there was anything else to do first but there wasn't, so the worst thing was to come now, she had never been any good at anything like this.

Angel sighed before she put on a pair of oven gloves and she went over to the oven and put the tray into the oven now she had to wait and this is something she hated because she would have nothing to do for the next 15 minutes.

Tick....tock

Angel was totally watching the clock now, had it been 15 minutes yet, she was sure that it must have been but when she looked at the watch it hadn't even been 5 minutes...

Tick...tock

Angel decided to try and thing about a few things, she thought about all that had chance since last summer and she thought about what was going on with the weather at the minute.

She then looked at the clock and smiled, it had been 15 minutes and so she decided that she would see what the cookies was doing, she put on the oven gloves and opened the oven door and took out the cookies, she was glad when she saw that they were cooked, she then went and put the tray down and tried to figure out what to do next.

Bake for fifteen minutes or until golden brown.

Zander beamed at the 'sup' AND the boy's smile. Man. Group leader Grayson was just so cool. Hopefully hanging around him would cause some of it to rub off? Please? It's just that well... The Slytherin did it all so effortlessly. It was so well played. If Zander ever even tried to say 'sup', well no he couldn't even think about it! He wasn't that cool yet. Yet. Grayson could teach him! But first, the boy would have to teach him how to cook. Because that was the mission. Right. Brilliant pair?! Zander felt his eyes WIDEN in excitement! See, so cool. "Really!?" Grayson was so cool and he was just a dweeb. Man.

Best cookies ever...? Well Grayson... has he got some news for you. Last time he tried to cook in class... He ended up with a pizza on his head , but maybe this wouldn't be a good time to mention that incident. So instead, just nodding. Mhm. Totally going to make the best cookies ever. Right. "I think so too!" Except no. That was a lie.

Ahem. Anyways, they had to get a move on! Some other were already making some epic progress. Even Zahra-- Wait was she using the elves?! DISQUALIFICATION, Professor! Wait no, she was a Gryffindor. Uh, bonus points for resourcefulness please? Right anyways, back to Grayson. "I'd say I've got that spell down," at that he turned to his fortunes and took out his wand. "Reducio!" and the first one shriveled down to a perfect fortune cookie size. Well done, Z. He looked back up at the older boy and smiled as if to say 'see, I wasn't lying this time'. "I'll take care of the fortunes, could you preheat the oven?"

Lux placed the first piece of parchment in the center of one of the cookies before moving on to do the same with the others. After making sure that the fortunes were placed correctly, she folded the cookies over so that the pieces of parchment were hidden.

Now it was time to shape the cookies. Since Lux had never eaten a fortune cookie before she was not exactly sure what they were supposed to look like. Shrugging, she decided to do her own thing and make the cookies into small hearts. Working carefully so that the parchments remained hidden, she narrowed the bottom of each cookie to a point. Next, she made the tops into two arches. The edges were smoothed out as much as possible so that they looked somewhat decent.

Tada, heart shaped fortune cookies.

SPOILER!!: Recipe
Ingredients
• 2 eggs (whites only), use the yolks for something else

1/2 tsp. (2.2g) of vanilla extract

1/2 tsp. (2.2g) of almond extract

3 tbsp. (41g) of vegetable oil

8 tbsp. (62.5g) of flour

1 1/2 tsp. (4g) of cornstarch

1/4 tsp. (1.5g) of salt

8 tbsp. (100g) of sugar

3 tsp. (15g) of water

Steps
1. Make fortunes, use the shrinking charm reducio to make the parchment small enough to fit into the cookie.
2. Using your wand heat preheat the oven.
3. Combine all the ingredients and mix well until dough is smooth.
4. Place tablespoons of batter onto a cookie sheet, space them around 2 inches apart.
5. Bake for fifteen minutes or until golden brown.
6. Remove cookie and place parchment in the middle, fold the cookie over.
7. Form into fortune cookie shape.

8. Place cookies into a muffin tin to hold their shape. Let cool for ten minutes.
9. Decorate if you like.

With the cookies all in a neat and tidy little shape, Sophie turned her attention back to the directions and realized she was at the end. WOOT! She'd nearly made a batch of fortune cookies, and the best part was, the kitchen was still standing and not burnt to a crisp! That might have something to do with the weather inside the castle, but Sophie was going to at least give herself some credit here!

She collected a muffin pan and laid it before her. Very carefully, she collected each cookie and placed it into the different parts of the pan. She checked the time and began the ten minute wait it would take for the cookies to cool. Waiting...waiting...waiting...

When the ten minutes was up, Sophie looked around the kitchen. Class was still going on, so why not--she'd decorate! "HEYYYY, HOUSE ELVES!" she said, smiling at them. She didn't know their names. "Do any of you know where the icing is?"

Ascanius was ready to wrap this up, y'know? As much as he looooooved cooking in the freezing cold he would much rather be doing about anything else, yeah?

So the seventh year grabbed a cookie sheet and began to place out the dough two inches apart. Tablespoon size.

He didn't make a fancy design or anything. Just simple lines because they would cook so much better if he didn't mess with it. And he really didn't WANT to do anything too extravagant.

Not laziness. Nope.

With that done, he tossed them into the preheated oven and began to wait.

A little excited there, aren't chu Zandy boy? Not that Grayson minded because let's face it: who WOULDN'T want to be paired with him? A couple of people, now that he thought about it, but he also thought that they were in denial about it all. He made a GREAT partner, thank you very much. So, the excitement was appreciated. "Really really. You're pretty cool, you know." In the sense that he wasn't one of those Gryffidors who jumped head-first into something without using their noggin.

And Zandy boy was such a freaking weird nickname. MAN, get it together, Whitty.

Moving on swiftly, the Slytherin was VERY glad that the boy had agreed. Confidence. He was a Gryffindor, the boy probably had plenty, if he fitted well into that lion den he was sorted into.

What was even BETTER was that he was good at the Reducio spell. SEE?! Not an idiot. "Brilliant!" Look at them fortunes, shrunk down into small pieces of parchment with some very wise words on there. "Sounds like a solid plan," he said, pulling out his wand and pointing it over at the oven, "Incendio!" Was that a little too dramatic? Shrug. It had done the trick, something that was proven when he bent down and took a quick peek at the inside. There was the sound of FIYAH.

What was neeeeeeext? Ingredients? Baking time? Grabbing a bowl, Grayson gave the inside a quick magical clean -- thank you, Potions -- before setting it down again. "Wanna start mixing the ingredients?" he asked, before grabbing an egg and cracking it against the rim of the bowl before depositing the insides into the bowl itself. Only whites, of course. He wasn't DUMB. And this was all done with a bit of a pazzaz! "Try the chef way of adding egg into a bowl!" Go on, Chef Z.

Chef Z and Chef G sounded GREAT, thank you very much.

Proud of how well she was doing so far, Lux placed the heart shaped fortune cookies into a muffin tin so that they could retain their shape. The recipe said that they had to remain this way for 10 minutes to cool. Sigh, this was always the most tedious part of baking or potion making.

Checking to see what time it was, Lux set about waiting. Time would pass quicker if she distracted herself, so she started singing songs from The Little Mermaid to herself. Singing was a great way to pass the time and as she sang she danced a little, hopefully not enough to disturb other people.

In what seemed like no time, the cookies were ready to be decorated.

SPOILER!!: Recipe
Ingredients
• 2 eggs (whites only), use the yolks for something else

1/2 tsp. (2.2g) of vanilla extract

1/2 tsp. (2.2g) of almond extract

3 tbsp. (41g) of vegetable oil

8 tbsp. (62.5g) of flour

1 1/2 tsp. (4g) of cornstarch

1/4 tsp. (1.5g) of salt

8 tbsp. (100g) of sugar

3 tsp. (15g) of water

Steps
1. Make fortunes, use the shrinking charm reducio to make the parchment small enough to fit into the cookie.
2. Using your wand heat preheat the oven.
3. Combine all the ingredients and mix well until dough is smooth.
4. Place tablespoons of batter onto a cookie sheet, space them around 2 inches apart.
5. Bake for fifteen minutes or until golden brown.
6. Remove cookie and place parchment in the middle, fold the cookie over.
7. Form into fortune cookie shape.
8. Place cookies into a muffin tin to hold their shape. Let cool for ten minutes.

9. Decorate if you like.

SPOILER!!: Nah, Zander thinks he's the epitome of cool

How did Grayson do it. All he had to do was exist and he could be cool. No wonder that Newell girl got all fluttery around him. Maybe the third year could just pick up some pointers along the way- and not just about cooking. So how did the guy do it? O_____O Had Group Leader Grayson just called him cool!? MERLIN WHAT? No wonder that stupid smile was still sitting on his face. Man. The coolest guy around had just called him cool and no, Grayson, he didn't know. "Oh-uh-wow thanks Grayson," Could he have a minute please?

Today shall be marked down in history as the day that Group Leader Grayson Whitlock called Zander Adair "pretty cool". Actually, could he have two minutes?

Okay no, no. They had the best cookies to make. He'd have his minutes later. As Grayson worked on preheating, Zander finished off reducing the rest of the fortunes, Grayson's included. Alright! This was progress. The third year grabbed all six in his hands and set them to the side of the table. Those would be for later. But now, now they had cookies to make! He quickly turned his attention back to Group Leader Grayson aka Colonel Cool and smiled. Again. "Yeah definitely!" He could totally mix. There'd be no way to possibly screw that one up. Ha no. Not even Zander Adair could screw up mixing.

Try cracking an egg.... Okay if you say so Grayson... The Gryffindor hesitantly grabbed an egg and cracked it on the table top. That part was easy. Now only getting the egg white... That was difficult. Very difficult. The Gryffindor struggled a bit trying to get only the white into the bowl... But after a minute of pure and TOTAL concentration, he had managed. Somehow.

Ahem right anyways. Maybe next time it'd be best if Grayson stuck to the handling of ingredients. So what was next? Ah, the rest of the ingredients. Right. The Gryffindor looked back up to Grayson, still sporting his goofy grin,"Can you measure out the liquids? I'll take care of the solids." They didn't need vanilla extract to end up all over the floor. No, solids were a much safer choice for this Gryffindor. He then reached over to grab hold of the flour, cornstarch, salt, and sugar. Now to begin measuring! This wasn't actually too bad! After getting the perfect amount of flour, the Gryffindor quickly poured it into the bowl that contained the egg whites. Alright!

Alright now time to put the fortune cookies in the oven. He got it all set and then he lightly placed the cookies into the oven. He needed to wait fifteen minutes. He set it on his watch. Once the fifteen minutes were up he took out the cookies with his oven mitt. They looked golden brown to him. He grinned and then placed them on a cooling rack that was provided. Now he needed to
remove cookie and place parchment in the middle, fold the cookie over.

He removed the cookie and place the parchment in the middle. He got his mini parchment and then folded them over. He did it for all the cookies and then checked what he had to do next.

SPOILER!!: Simon

There was a reason why Simon was dubbed ‘The Chef’, right? “Ladies and Gentlemen…and House elves. I present to you Exhibit A.” he said as he pointed at Simon as he did his thing. Separating the yolks from the egg whites, measuring the flour like a pro…Ethan can go on and on and on about how fantastic his Watson is. Ethan would open his mouth to say something, such as offering his help, but Simon was too fast with all of the preparation and mixing. The blond boy just decided to shut his mouth and observe.

Uh huh.

He can do that too you know. Maybe in the next 100 years?

Then a tablespoon was handed to him. Right. Placing the batter onto the baking sheet. He can do that, mhm. Scooping out the sticky stuff from the bowl, Ethan then placed it on the tray carefully. He didn’t want to upset his best friend by doing a sloppy job, yeah? “Two inches apart. Got it.” If you actually want a precise partner, Ethan’s the man for the job.

Two freaking inches.

The boy had manners. GOOD. Grayson had nearly zilch of that stuff within him -- something his mum was oh so keen on remindin him about -- but that didn't mean that he couldn't appreciate the art for himself. Besides, if the boy had gone ahead to not accept his compliment, poisonous fortune cookies might have been a thought. Nothing major, mind you. Maybe adding cockroach clusters to the bad boys. OR, he could just ignore the boy for some time. Demote him. Whatever. "You're welcome, mate." WERE they mates? Who even knew.

It was a good thing that Zander had agreed to do the mixing. Swear to Merlin, it almost made Grayson happy and gleeful! As if someone ha gone ahead and added some Elixir to Induce Euphoria to his morning bowl of cereal. And what was even better was that he was going ahead with the egg cracking too. "Come on, Chef Z, show them who's BOSS." Encouraging words from the fifteen year old. And one you wouldn't hear often so take it or leave it, Adair.

"Brilliant!" What was he talking about? Two things: that crack-a-lackin' egg cracking and the plan. "Measure out the liquids. Sounds dead simple," he said while reaching over for a tablespoon. That got a magical clean too before he continued, "Do you think we'll get to try these out for ourselves?" Or could they get someone else to take a small nibble to determine whether it tasted alright? An overly confident Gryffindor would do the trick. He didn't want to take their cookies if they tasted worse than vomit flavoured beans.

PSH. Like their cookies would taste bad. Yeah RIGHT.

ANYWAYS. Grayson poured out half a tablespoon of the vanilla extract -- which smelt nice, by the way -- and added it into the bowl. Next came the almond extract, which was another half a tablespoon. Thank you for keeping the measurements simple, Professor Cassie. Three tablespoons took a bit more time to measure out, especially when Grayson didn't want any of the substance to spill over. But when it was, one......... two......... and three tablespoons of the vegetable oil was added to the bowl. And lastly, oneeeee........ two.......... threeeeeee tablespoons of water went into the bowl. The last bit was done a bit dramatically because it was OVER.

Andddddd to bug his fellow chef because what better way was there to kill time? "Think we should leave some dough at the end for us to snack on?"

Heading over to the decoration area, Lux could already tell that this was going to be her favourite part of the lesson. She got to make her cookies look prettier and anything involving candy was AWESOME.

Looking at her options, she decided to go with chocolate and sprinkles. Dunking each cookie into the chocolate, she covered half of the hearts so that the other part was plain. Sprinkles went onto the chocolate to add more fun to the cookies, but she didn't think that anything else should be done to them.

Satisfied with her work, she set her cookies to dry and waited to hear any further instructions from Professor Cassie. This couldn't be the last part of the lesson; Lux was having way too much fun for it to be over!

Mate!? They were MATES?? Dear Merlin. If that goofy grin wasn't already evident enough, then this one sure would be. He was officially mates with the Group Leader Grayson. The super cool Group Leader Grayson. Oh boy! If he had been at all nervous about a divination class in the kitchens- which he totally was- THIS certainly brought some beautiful sunshine to clear away his cloudy day. THE Grayson Whitlock thought he was "pretty cool" AND a "mate". Could this day get any better? Maybe. If they made good cookies, which they would because Colonel Cool, but still. Woah.

Make that five minutes. He needed five minutes. Please?

No. Focus. He'd take those five minutes after this was done. He couldn't possibly let Group Leader Grayson take back his compliments. No. Ahem. Right. Zander was most definitely fangirling on the inside. He kept pretty composed, though- well, other than the goofy grin. He had been keeping his eye on Colonel Cool over here. And yes, he most definitely was cool. And the Gryffindor had never even stopped to think that he'd ever become actual mates with the guy. This was insane. It was... cool.

Chef Z!? yes, this was most definitely- cool. He turned to Grayson and smiled, before giving the older boy a thumbs up. So far, so good.

The Gryffindor then turned back to the dry ingredients in front of them. Alright so flour was done, now for the... Cornstarch. Right. Hearing Grayson addressing him again, the boy turned just as he added in the cornstarch. "Hmmm..." It was a good question. Really, he didn't know what to expect. In this class the could be doing anything. Merlin, watch them make the cookies, but then finish the class off by sitting in a circle and snapping again. Wouldn't be surprised if the snapping returned. It always seemed to. "I reckon we're gonna have to switch with people.. So that we get different fortunes or something?" Or that too. But the snapping was always a possibility. Always.

Adding the last of the ingredients into the bowl, Zander couldn't help but feel mighty proud of himself. He hadn't managed to get any of it on his head so this was a pretty big step, y'know? One small step for wizard; One big leap for wizardkind! Anyways. Now for the mixing. The Gryffindor went ahead and grabbed a spoon, following Grayson's suit and making sure to clean it first. Incase Culloden was spying in on them or something. That man was everywhere! Aaaaaaand now for the mixing!!

At first it was pretty simple, you know with everything being so liquidy and powdery. But once all the ingredients molded together, it got a little tougher. But he could work through it! Totally strong Gryffindor guy over here. Nothing to see. It was all in a days work really. Ahum, sort of. O___O Eat the dough?! But if this was the way to be cool... Then why not? Maybe this is how he got his hair to be so shiny. By eating dough. "Alright, let's do it!" Mixing, mixing, mixing, and moooore mixing!!-- "I reckon it's done, what do you think?" Yes, what do you think oh ever-so-cool one? What do you think?

Leah grabbed a bowl nearby and used 'Scourgify' on it. This felt soooo much like Potions. She picked up the eggs and cracked them against the edge of the bowl at the same time. Girl trying to be cool here. She could not help but remember how Jun once told her that eggs were good for her hair. The girl smiled and tried her very best to put only the whites and the whites ONLY in the bowl. After several moments, the whites were safe and sound in the bowl. Use the yolks for something else.. Leah wondered if she should use them on her hair.

The Hufflepuff moved to the other ingredients, which hopefully would be easier to add in. After scourgifying the teaspoon, she measured all ingredients with ease and poured them into the bowl containing the egg whites. That was not as easy as she expected.

What fun this was. She couldn't help the few snaps of encouragement as she went around the kitchen. "Your cookies are just looking wonderful and isn't the heat from the ovens just splendid?" See a lesson of learning and warmth. It was just brilliant in the Divination professor's green eyes.

Noticing a look from a young Hufflepuff, Cassie made her way toward Adi and Fern. "Everything alright?" She really wasn't sure if she could help, but she'd try. She was thinking about trying to bake the cookies too, just to see if she could. Nessa would try them if she made them, she thought.

Her eyes glanced around the rest of the class. "Everyone doing alright?"

OOC: You are doing great! Sorry I didn't post Cassie yesterday, we had Tornado Warning and my baby hurt my dog falling on him, so I read posts just didn't get a chance to reply myself!

I'll be closing the class around midnight EST so still plenty of time!!

Now for the mixing part. Hmm, this should not be too hard. Just grab a spoon, stick it inside the mixture and stir! Leah did exactly that, adding a 'cleaning of spoon' part before the real mixing. Hygiene problem, yo. She started mixing excitedly, splashing a bit of vanilla extract onto her table in the meantime.

As time passed, the mixture became kind of sticky, making it difficult to mix. Leah gripped the edge of the bowl tightly and stirred with all her strength. Soon enough, the dough became smoother and smoother.. into the real batter! GREAT. The only other time she made batter was for her ancient runes homework, and that worked out pretty well too.

The next step was to place the batter onto a cookie sheet. Leah put the bowl down back onto the table and picked up a tablespoon. She made sure to lick a bit of batter from her spoon before moving on though. Professional, huh? She set the cookie sheet down onto the table. The second year began to put the batter on the sheet. A tablespoon for each cookie would be enough right? The shapes happened to be perfect circles! And about two inches apart.

Next, Leah passed the cookie sheet on into the preheated oven and let it to the job for the next.. fifteen minutes or so.

Now it was time to preform the task that could very well mess up the entire operation. Her measurements needed to be exact because she had every intention on noming these cookies. So she needed two eggs, but not the yolks. Exactly HOW was she going to get the yolks separated from the eggs? Did she look like a young Betty Crocker over here? AJ picked up a egg and cracked it over a bowl. The yolk went into the bowl with the white. RUDE. Didn't it know that it wasn't welcome. Now she had to start all over. Finally she managed to get two egg whites into the bowl about twenty minutes later.

Vanilla and almond extract went in next. Mmmm... the extracts smelled like heaven. Vegetable oil, flour and cornstarch followed quickly behind. AJ was even measuring the right amounts. Salt, sugar, and water was dumped in next. Weee.... her cookies were going to be fabulous!

Lucy remembered that her mother always prepared some fruits with chocolate dipping sauce..she loved the fruits with chocolate.
So she pulled out of her bag one pear and one banana (her snack!).
Lucy cut the fruits into small pieces..she put some tiny pices of banana on the top of the cookie for the sign of Taurus, some tiny pieces of pearover the cookie dedicated to the Gemini and some of both fruit over the third cookie!
Awesome!now the cookies were perfect!

Leah stared into the oven, watching the process of the dough turning into a brown shade of cookie. All set, and the fifteen minutes should have passed. She had convieniently forgotten to set her watch. She pulled on her oven mitt and took out the cookie sheet. Golden brown and mmm, smelling nice. She quickly moved them to a cooling rack.

The Hufflepuff poked the cookies several times to make sure that she would not be burned before removing the cookies and stuffing the parchment with her fortunes written on them underneath. She had to hurry with the next steps before the cookies completely cooled down.

Everything was mixed ready to go. AJ looked to her right, and then to her left. The coast was clear. Everybody seemed to be immersed in their work so now was the time to act. She stuck her pointer finger into the mix and picked up a hunk of the fortune cookie mixture. Without waiting she popped her finger in her mouth. "Mmm..." Cookie dough was the best. Sometimes she thought it was better than when they were cooked.

The lion needed to measure out the cookies now and space them just right. The best way to measure the distance was with her fingers. Whether or not it would be the exact two inches, she couldn't be sure. Without bothering to wash her finger that she just sucked the mix off of she started ladling the cookie mix into round balls on the cookie sheet. Once it was all done, AJ stuck them in the oven. Now she had to wait. That was another thing that she was bad at. The lion couldn't have burnt cookies though. Yuck!

The Idea Man Kori-Kins

Angel looked at the list and smiled, she was glad that she hadn't let them cool down like she had wanted to at first because now she would be restarting the whole thing because she had to put a piece of paper into the dough whilst it was still hot.

Angel took the pieces of paper with the fortunes on them and slotted them into the cookie, she was totally enjoying this now and she couldn't wait to see what the Professor did when she got her fortune, she was starting to wish she had put in one, one day you'll die because well that would be 100% true and accurate.

Angel now had to decide what she was doing next.
