Default Divination Lesson 2, In the kitchen

Just as the fortune cookies said on the notice board, the kitchen is where the next Divination class was being held. With the Divination Tower so cold Professor Cassie wanted a warmer place and possibly a happy and fun lesson to bring some warmth to the students.

Setting on a tray right at the door, Cassie had the house elves make enough hot chocolate for all the students. The house elves that had agreed to help during this lesson, since Professor Cassie knows nothing about ovens, cooking, or baking, are busy getting everything ready.

As you enter the kitchen you will find that there are chairs around the tables for a work space. You will also find a familiar snap cup sitting near where Professor Cassie is standing. Remember what to do? If not there is a parchment with the instructions just like last time.

Quote:
Once you find a seat at one of the tables pull out a piece of parchment and write one thing that you are proud that you have done or someone else has done today. Then come forward and place it into the cup. Head back to your seat and enjoy the hot chocolate!

Once Sophie had all three of her fortunes gathered up, she was ready to move on to the next step. Sophie cleaned her hands, just to be extra careful, and then she picked up the first fortune cookie. She carefully slipped the fortune for Pisces into the cookie. She left it as is then collected the fortune for Aquarius. She carefully laid into onto the cookie then collected the third and final fortune--the one for Scorpio. She inserted it into the third cookie, and with that, she was done with adding the fortunes into the cookies.

Looking back up at the directions, she read where the next step was to shape the cookies into the fortune cookie shape. That shouldn't be too hard--just a few twists and turns this way and that, and she should have them all whipped into shape. Okay, so COOL--she was almost done!

Alright time to make his own fortune cookie! This was kind of cool! But first he needed to reduce his fortune papers. They needed to be smaller so they could fit into the cookie. Seemed logical. He got his wand out and said, "Reducio!" and then the papers shrunk. "Finite!" he said so they wouldn't be too small. They seemed to be the right size and he could read them clearly. Now onto following the recipe....

SPOILER!!: Fortune Cookie Recipe

Ingredients
• 2 eggs (whites only), use the yolks for something else

1/2 tsp. (2.2g) of vanilla extract

1/2 tsp. (2.2g) of almond extract

3 tbsp. (41g) of vegetable oil

8 tbsp. (62.5g) of flour

1 1/2 tsp. (4g) of cornstarch

1/4 tsp. (1.5g) of salt

8 tbsp. (100g) of sugar

3 tsp. (15g) of water
Steps

1. Make fortunes, use the shrinking charm reducio to make the parchment small enough to fit into the cookie.
2. Using your wand heat preheat the oven.
3. Combine all the ingredients and mix well until dough is smooth.
4. Place tablespoons of batter onto a cookie sheet, space them around 2 inches apart.
5. Bake for fifteen minutes or until golden brown.
6. Remove cookie and place parchment in the middle, fold the cookie over.
7. Form into fortune cookie shape.
8. Place cookies into a muffin tin to hold their shape. Let cool for ten minutes.
9. Decorate if you like.

Aahh he needed to use his wand to reheat the oven? Well couldn't he just push the buttons instead? Ah wait they were in the wizarding world. He got his wand out and said, "Incendio!" and then he felt the heat from the oven and it seemed like the right temperature. It was warm to him.

Now that the cookies were cool enough to touch safely, Jasmine removed the first one from the pan. Grabbing a fortune, she placed it in the middle of the cookie and folded the cookie over. Then she formed it into a fortune cookie shape. At least she tried to, but her first attempt left a lot to be desired. Hopefully Jasmine would get the hang of this shaping thing as she made more cookies.

Jasmine carefully placed cookie number one in the muffin tin and moved on to the next one. One by one she placed the fortunes in her cookies and shaped them. When she ran out of fortunes, Jasmine just shaped the empty cookies and placed them in the muffin tin along with the others. Finally, all of her cookies had been completed and placed into the tin. Now Jasmine had ten minutes to kill while she waited for them to cool. The big question was, should she decorate them or not? She decided to check out her decoration options while waiting for the cookies to cool.

Now onto mixing all the ingredients together. He went up to the room and got all the proper ingredients. He checked and double checked just to be sure. He looked at his list to see how much he needed...

SPOILER!!: List

Ingredients
• 2 eggs (whites only), use the yolks for something else

1/2 tsp. (2.2g) of vanilla extract

1/2 tsp. (2.2g) of almond extract

3 tbsp. (41g) of vegetable oil

8 tbsp. (62.5g) of flour

1 1/2 tsp. (4g) of cornstarch

1/4 tsp. (1.5g) of salt

8 tbsp. (100g) of sugar

3 tsp. (15g) of water
Steps

1. Make fortunes, use the shrinking charm reducio to make the parchment small enough to fit into the cookie.
2. Using your wand heat preheat the oven.
3. Combine all the ingredients and mix well until dough is smooth.
4. Place tablespoons of batter onto a cookie sheet, space them around 2 inches apart.
5. Bake for fifteen minutes or until golden brown.
6. Remove cookie and place parchment in the middle, fold the cookie over.
7. Form into fortune cookie shape.
8. Place cookies into a muffin tin to hold their shape. Let cool for ten minutes.
9. Decorate if you like.

He got out a big bowl, then he went to the sink and washed his hands and added his two eggs. He cracked one and then split the yolk from the egg white and then the second one. He plopped both egg whites into the bowl. He got out his measuring spoon and measured 1/2 tsp of vanilla. He spilled it in. He got the tablespoon and measured 1 tbsp of veggie oil. He added it in and then two more. He cleaned out the 1/2 tsp and then measured the almond extract. Now onto 8 tbsp of flour? He cleaned out the tbsp and scooped the tbsp into the flour bag and measured it into the bowl. He dropped the flour in 8 times. Now onto measuring the cornstarch, sugar, salt and water. Once he had all that done it was time to make the dough smooth. He mixed it well till it looked smooth to him.

After the cookies had cooled, Jasmine decided that she would decorate half of them. Picking up her muffin tin, she carried it over to the decoration station. Chocolate sounded like a good idea so Jasmine took out a few cookies and dipped them into the chocolate sauce. Then she grabbed the sprinkles and poured some over the cookies already covered in chocolate. These were going to be soooo good. We're they allowed to taste as they worked? Probably not, but Jasmine could dream. She put the decorated cookies back into the muffin tin so they could dry. Deciding to forego the icing, Jasmine left the rest of her cookies plain as she had originally planned. Picking up her tin, she walked back over to her work station and started to clean up while she waited for further instructions fom Professor Cassie.

"Hi." Standard greeting, yes, hello, hi bestie. "So I'm thinking you bake, I supervise, we enjoy the cookies and the world is a happy place. Kinda like we always do." Lex was FAR better at supervising than she was at baking, even Cassia knew this so no arguments should happen.

"You reduce the fortunes while I go pre-heat the oven--no, wait, I'll burn myself. I'll shrink these, you light the oven so we can get that started." It might have been weird having someone boss around the Head Girl but Cass didn't let that sort of power get to her head. Power wouldn't make her bestie not listen. Pfft. Plus this was a team effort!

With that, she gathered their fortunes together to make one spell of it. "Reducio."

See, she and Lex had attempted this , baking, a couple of times. Years ago they totally failed because they always had better things to do. And when they did do it together it was Cassia working and Lex providing the greatest entertaining and conversation anyone could ever dream of. Perfect team.

While the sixth-year shrank the fortunes that belonged to her. Cassia was mentally deciding what she was going to do next. Yup, got it.

"Hand me that bowl, will you?" Just so the other blond would feel involved and not like she wasn't doing anything at all. The snake trusted that her friend knew what a bowl was. If not it would be quite an alarming thing.

But yeah, a bowl was the easy thing, so far so good. Rolling up her sleeves, Cassia switched to cook mode, which wasn't really that different from her regular one. Except just a little when someone ruined her work. No one was going to do that fortunately so all was well. One by one, Cassia started adding the ingredients. Flour, oil, vanilla, sugar, salt and all while adding water. She was using her mother's technique because she knew it by heart. And professor Morgan didn't specify a way for them to do it which was good. "How is Felix, by the way? I haven't seen him in while," And by seeing she meant spending time with him petting him and rubbing his stomach.

See, she just KNEW this wouldn't be a problem. This was what set Cass apart of all the rest of 'em stuck up kitchen snobs that actually knew what they were doing. Cassia could understand how lost Lex was in the kitchen and in turn didn't expect much from her in the way of contribution until it came to the eating part. They had a perfect system, could you tell?

Alexa reached for the bowl across the table and slid it to Cassia then watched the girl carefully add the ingredients. Left to her own devices, Lex might have just thrown everything in and hoped that it worked out in the end no matter how it would look at the time. "He's alright I suppose. Feeling more confined than even me--if that's possible. Usually he gets some time on the grounds but now it's nothing but the Common Room or the corridors when I take him with me. Even then it's short lived because I don't want him freezing to death or getting sick." A sneezing kneazle only liked sneezing in one direction, your face...while you slept cuddled up with it. She knew this system all too well.

"Wish the owls had stayed. How else are we gonna know how Mikey's treating Venom." After all these years she still didn't think the boy was very competent so yes, she had to ask.

Oh hey she was done adding. "I can mix." She offered, taking the bowl and the wooden spoon thing--this was what they were meant to use yes?

Mix. Mix. Mix. Nothing to it. "Lemme know when this looks smooth enough."

Occasionally checking the time, Lux waited the 15 minutes that the cookies needed to bake before taking them out of the oven. Once the oven had been turned off, the next thing she needed to do was add the slips of parchment that the fortunes had been written on. It seemed simple enough to her.

After placing the cookie sheet on the table and removing the oven mitts, Lux went over to the sink washed her hands again. It was always good to have clean hands when cooking or baking, that much she knew. Gathering up the three fortunes, it was time for her to add them to the cookies.

The time had passed and the cookies were ready. Lucy chose the three most beautiful and the most golden. Then She took the three small parchments and put them each one inside a cookie and folded the cookie over.
Then she formed it into a fortune cookie shape.
Done!
Then Lucy placed her cookies in the muffin tin to hold their shape.
As long as she let the cookies cool she was thinking about to decorate them..

She took her time adding and counting off all the ingredients. And once she was finished she checked the list again making sure she had not forgotten anything. All while listening to Lex and nodding. Yes, she could multitask when the tasks were chatting and baking. She had hidden talents, obviously.

"Poor thing," She said referring to the kneazle of course. She somehow was glad that she had not brought any of her kittens to Hogwarts like she wanted. They wouldn't have survived, they were better off back at home. A smile tugged at her lips at the mention of Venom. Because she missed the spider and the way Lex always questioned and became suspicious of her brother. "I'm sure he's doing well, he has been doing so for a while," She knew her brother wouldn't hurt the creature or neglect it just to tease Lex.

"And I hope my owl will never come back," she grinned sliding the bowl over to Lex. "Maybe it's time Snaty got lost or eaten or something," Who cared, she just didn't want to see the creature. Something she's been trying to do for a while.

The snake watched her bestie mix the bowl's contents. At some point she reached over and re-positioned Lex's hands for a better performance but the Gryffindor was doing a wonderful job. Meanwhile, the snake retrieved the cookie sheet and placed it on the countertop. "I think it's good now," She said sticking her finger in the dough.

Sliding the bowl closer to her she retrieved a clean spoon then started placing batter on the sheet slowly. She didn't want to miss up or make them too close to each other. Lex could help if she felt like it.

One more to go! Fern grabbed the card closest to her, which turned out to be Capricorn. Inspired, she wrote:

There! All done! The Hufflepuff leaned back in her chair and regarded her handiwork smugly. She was so good at this.

Even Miss Cambridge seemed to be doing wonderful and her attitude was so much better this lesson. It was just fabtastic.

Just glancing at some of the fortunes Cassie stopped and blinked once again at Zhara, “Oh no.. no Miss Zhara you can’t have something so violent. Not in my class. We do not punch people in the faces. We can hug, say nice things, or give out snaps, but no punching. Please change that.” She beamed at the girl before moving on.

“Alright class, it’s time to move on. Now we are going to start the actual making of the fortune cookies. Now I’m just awful in a kitchen so I have asked the house elves to come and help.” She beamed towards all the wonderful elves that had come to help. “They will be here if you need them to help you bake. I can help as well, but I warn you at my house my stove is a shoe rack not somewhere to cook.” Nope she didn’t have the slightest idea. The house elves were ready to help though, weren’t they? She glanced around and figured they were.

“Now you can work together or you can alone either is fine. Please follow the instructions that are on the parchment cards, if you need an allergy card you can come up and get one from this counter.” She flicked her wrist and the parchment cards went to their tables then she pointed towards the allergy ones. “Like I’ve said before I do have an allergy potion so you can do the activity without substituting if you wish.” It was up to them really which they did. “Now remember which cookie you’ve put which fortune in. Feel free to make some extra fortunes for the other cookies or just have them for a yummy snack. Once you’ve made them I have set up a little decoration station over in the corner to make them a little fancier if you’d like. There is a chocolate dipping, sprinkles, and some icing. So just have some fun with this. “ She rechecked each table to make sure their ingredients and tools were all set since the house elves had been working so hard. When everything looked like it was in place, she snapped excitedly. “Alright you can get started!” Eeep! How fun!

After Professor Morgan described her shoe-filled oven, Fern stopped listening. Imagine! An oven JAMMED with shoes!! Where else did the professor keep her shoes? Obviously her closet had to be packed. Maybe in the linen closet?! The pantry?! Oh! How Fern wished she could have that many shoes! Right now she only had six pairs, including her terrible, sensible black school shoes. Ugh.

Just the thought of those shoes snapped Fern out of her reverie. For a moment, the 13-year-old was completely confused, but then she saw the parchment direction cards and grabbed one.

“Rudicio” Easy. Fern looked at the next step. “Preheat the oven.” Uhhh. What?

Fern did not cook. That was what GG did. Frantically, the teenager looked around the room, trying to see what the others were doing. There was Cuthbert, looking like he had been baking since he was old enough to stand. There was NO way Fern was asking for help now. So the Hufflepuff did what she always did in these situations. She quickly shrank all her fortunes, then she quickly packed up her bag and moved next to Adi’s work station.

Not-so-surreptitiously watching her housemates actions, she successfully preheated the oven. Then she set about mixing the ingredients in a bowl. This wasn't so bad.

SPOILER!!: Recipe
Ingredients
  • 2 eggs (whites only), use the yolks for something else
  • 1/2 tsp. (2.2g) of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. (2.2g) of almond extract
  • 3 tbsp. (41g) of vegetable oil
  • 8 tbsp. (62.5g) of flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. (4g) of cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp. (1.5g) of salt
  • 8 tbsp. (100g) of sugar
  • 3 tsp. (15g) of water
Steps

1.Make fortunes, use the shrinking charm reducio to make the parchment small enough to fit into the cookie.
2.Using your wand heat preheat the oven.
3.Combine all the ingredients and mix well until dough is smooth.
4.Place tablespoons of batter onto a cookie sheet, space them around 2inches apart.

5.Bake for fifteen minutes or until golden brown.
6.Remove cookie and place parchment in the middle, fold the cookie over.
7.Form into fortune cookie shape.
8.Place cookies into a muffin tin to hold their shape. Let cool for ten minutes.
9.Decorate if you like.

Just look at that deft precision as Cassia went about getting the dough onto the sheets. There was a reason Lex left the more delicate tasks to her, seriously and anyone watching the pair could tell as much for themselves. Can you imagine ill-shaped or outright deformed cookie dough shapes? That's what Lex would produce. She lacked the discipline necessary to make certain things. This was no secret.

"Poor thing is right. He wanted to follow me to class once because he'd been sleeping in my blanket that I took with me but I don't reckon pets are allowed unless you've got a fancy badge saying Head Girl and the attitude to match." If someone like Lex tried...it wouldn't go that well but no doubt Cassia could pull it off. "I think the sleepover's at your house this summer, tell him to be sure I see Venom presented on your pillow by the time I get there." What did she think he might have done to the spider, she couldn't say but Mikey would suffer the same fate regardless of the ingorance on her part.

Oh jeeeeez. Lex's eyes widened some in realization. When the owls left, Snaty obviously went with them. "After all these years of trying to get rid of him. To think all it took was a little cold." Then again...the cold had made them all leave. "He'll be back. Don't you have a little cousin you could gift him to? Say he means so much and will help them too blah blah blah?" Surely the girl knew how to make it convincing.

Op, she was done now and Lex slipped the papers onto a tray big enough to hold them all then levitated them toward the oven to get them started. 15 minutes? She trusted Cassia would be keeping track of that even through their chatter.

Talking Post 4 + Fern <3
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.

What was the next step? Adi was so taken up with proceeding in the cookie baking that he failed to notice his fellow third year and Housemate, Fern, relocate next to him. All he registered was that the person was preheating the oven and mixing their ingredients.

Okay, so according to Professor Morgan's instructions, the next thing would be to put the batter on the baking sheet. Adi carefully scooped up some batter from the bowl using a spoon and laid each tablespoonful about two inches apart.

Grabbing some mittens, he placed the baking sheet into the oven for the baking. Right. Now all he had to do was keep an eye out for the end of the fifteen minutes.

This wasn't the easiest thing to do but she could manage. Usually when she'd be making cookies at home, her brother would actually help with this part. To think that Mike could do more in the kitchen than Lex could was really amusing. It felt a betrayal to say this now especially having really missed brother since they have not communicated in a while. And it was harder to be focused when she chuckled at Lex's threat. "I will tell him that as soon as I get the chance," she said.

And finally! She was done. She let the Gryffindor put it in the tray and all while she wiped the couple drops of sweat that formed on her forehead.

Back to poor Felix, " We can barely bear this situation, it's no wonder he's being like that," Were they ever going to get out of the castle! What if they were trapped here for years to come! What if they became elderly people here!

The moment the tray was in the oven, the snake started keeping track of time."I do have cousins, uncle Silas's kids but they are cute and they like me," So she would not give them such a present. Nope. Wouldn't do this to them. And the fifteen minutes were up!

"Time to get those out," She said grabbing an oven mitten and pulling out the tray. She examined the color of the cookies and nodded approving. It was the right color. "Now we have to put the parchments in the cookies," She told Lex who probably was lost now. Taking one cookie gingerly she inserted the parchment showing Lex how it's done. "See, it's easy," Or she could do all them all.

Lucy made her way to the decoration station..
She didn't like the sprinkles nor the icing..but she loved the chocolate.
She said:"Awesome!".
Lucy decided to decorate her cookies with the dark chocolate dipping sauce!
But she wanted to diversify the three cookies and she started to thinking how to do it...

You never really noticed how long 15 minutes were until you stood by an oven with your bestfriend waiting for that time to fly by. Funny how that worked.

"Ah right, forgot you can't just send him the threat express owl now. No matter, you'll have a week to threaten him before I come over so nothing I'm worried about." Venom would be there and Lex would gush about her and she would show her mummies how much more vicious she'd gotten. "I suspect she's gotten huge in this last year." Not big enough to scare Felix away but then the kneazle had more drive than sense sometimes so she wouldn't think much of that and instead watch Cassia demonstrate shoving the fortunes into the cookies.

"He'll be all too happy when we get home--when it's summer actually. He's not one for the cold at all." She was almost sure if Felix had wings he'd leave but not even a whole 10% sure because her kneazle would never leave her. Nope.

While she spoke she got busy putting a few of the fortunes in the cookies. "Eh...guess you don't want to mess up a good thing. Little cousins come in handy when they like you enough." Dax had yet to prove this but Lex--and her cousin Freya both hoped he'd grow to be of SOME use eventually. "Quite the fix you're in with that owl."

Aaaand they were just about done, yes? "Cookie shapes next." As in Cass would do and Lex would watch to get the hang of it.

staffed shop Post 5 + Fern again ^__^
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.

Now that he was waiting for the stuff to bake, Adi had a proper chance to look around at everyone else. Plus time to clean up those bit of spilled batter on his station and the utensils he had used. He caught sight of the person who he knew had been bustling around him just then. It was Fern.

The boy still had not realised she was copying him. Oblivious Adi. Hehe. "Hey, Fern. What's up?'' He did notice, however, that she was almost at the same step as he.

Adi glanced at his watch. One minute remained. Best grab those mittens again. He opened the oven and pulled the tray towards him. Yep, golden brown they were. Time to put the fortunes in!

This was going to smoothly and Cassia almost forgot they were in a lesson in a castle where they were TRAPPED and could not get OUT. Why did she remember again? She was having a great time and almost thought it was one of her and Lex's sleepovers or something. With the chatter and all. Speaking of, the snake looked around searching for the professor, surely the nice woman would not mind them talking while they worked. It wasn't like they weren't doing what they were supposed to do.

Cassia watched as Lex inserted her parchments. It was all done nicely so she did not need to get involved in that. Better prepare for the next part. Where did the list go again, "I think all of us would be super happy when all this is gone," she said as she crouched picking up the recipe. "Though, it has its pros, since NEWTs are postponed," That got a grin out of the snake who hopped up with the recipe and smoothed it on the countertop.

"Yup, cookie shaping," She nodded sliding the parchment aside and pulling the tray closer so it sat between the two of them. "This part is fun," Not that the others weren't, but she was trying to encourage Alexa and all. Before she started shaping, she reached for the sink and washed her hands. Just to be safe. After she waved her hands around in order for them to dry she stepped up again to the counter and started shaping one cookie slowly and carefully. Obviously to show Lex how it was done. Once she was done with it she moved on to shape another one faster now. She was sure Lex got how it's done.

The snake had always been so good at demonstrations so good that Lex just leaned against the counter and watched Cass shape one after another after another until she was already halfway through the cookies while they spoke. Shame they weren't actually back in Cassia's kitchen because then Lex could sneak a taste or two and there would still be enough.

"Hah, I heard about that, didn't believe them til I saw it on the noticeboard in our Common Room for myself." It was kinda hard to miss, compared to the other notices there. "Wish this had happened last time, though I am happy to have it over and done with. Got good grades and now I hope they cancel the finals for everyone else too." Whether as a reward for not going outside and getting themselves killed or....as a .....we're sorry you've all seen nothing but these walls since December please don't sue. Either would have worked for her. "You'll do great. You're smart, remember?" Sometimes Lex was kind enough to remind her friend. Yup.

Fun....right...Cassia said it looked fun. "It must be fun." Lex concluded, eyeing the cookies. "Otherwise you wouldn't have done them all like you just did. G'job Cass!" Lex said with a grin. It just went to show. If you stood by passively enough for long enough the work got done without you. Well then.

"I'll get them into the muffin tin then you can decorate. Sound good?" Even while she asked, Lex was already placing them. This would help them keep their shape? Well if you say so.

She really needed to get a move on at this point. So far she had managed to get absolutely nothing accomplished. Simply chanting reducio over and over was not going to yield results. Picking up her wand, she pointed it at the paper where she had written her fortune on. "Reducio." And just like magic it worked. The paper shrunk. This never happened to her on the first try. Things were looking up for the lion.

Glancing down at her notes, she saw that she needed to preheat the oven now. AJ had practice with this spell so it SHOULD go smoothly. "Incendio." Nothing. She should have known that it was too good to be true. Incendio." This time it worked. AJ had a shrunk paper and her stove was pre-heating. What was next?

Funny when you haven't done something for a while and yet when you started doing it after that while you find your hands know exactly what to do and how to do it. She only had to look at her hands while she shaped the two first cookies but then her hands were acting alone and she did not have to look at all.

"Yeah, never knew there was something that could cause a delay," Apparently there were and she was glad to have experienced it firsthand. "You did very well, indeed," She nodded like a proud grandma. She had helped Lex study History in case no one knew. She helped a lot. The lioness was very welcome. Of course part of it was sort of payback since she helped Cassia when it was here having to take the exams. But she still would have helped. What are besties for ?

"You know, that would be very nice. How could people just study when they're stressed and trapped," Though, those people were baking cookies now, but still! And she never got her hopes up for NEWTs to be cancelled. They were far more important and she knew that the ministry was involved to it would never happen. But she would be happy for the other years. Sort of. Might be a bit jealous.

Once she finished shaping she squinted at Lex, "I'm such a great friend, no wonder people keep trying stealing me from you," That never happened. But she obviously thought a lot of herself. And just because she had nothing to do with her hands anymore she started moving the shaped cookies to the muffin tin with Alexa. And they were done!

"Now it's decorating time!" A pretty cookie was a delicious cookie. Everyone knew that. She picked up the cookies and headed over to the decorating station. "I say we have chocolate dipped ones, and one with sprinkles and ones with icing," Because she couldn't decide on only one obviously.

The Idea Man Kori-Kins

Angel know had to make sure that she did this completely right, she didn't want to get into trouble or make a massive mistake and not spread the dough far enough apart because she had already found out before what happened when things go wrong because of that.

Angel got a cookie sheet, she wondered why they didn't just grease the tray that would be a lot easier, she then took out a tablespoon and put the spoon into the dough, she then places one table spoon of the batter onto the cookie sheet, she kept doing this making sure that they were spread around 2 inches apart, she didn't want to have to do it again because she would probably cry after all the hard work.

When she had finished she looked at her list to see if there was anything else to do before she put the cookies into the oven.

Know something? Lex was proud of their efforts, legit, she was or mostly with Cassia's progress but you know, this was a team effort and she'd helped more than even she had planned to so it was something indeed.

She beamed. "I did. Some of them were a shock even to me but of course I didn't plan to FAIL. That would have meant all the studying was a waste." Waste. Just the word annoyed Lex. Ugh.

"Sounds like something you should bring to the attention of the Headmistress or something. Remind her that people have started burning books for heat. Can't study when the books have gone up in flames." Totally understandable. Lex herself hadn't been burning books but she'd heard of a few students who were. See...it didn't make sense to, because they'd need them next year and there was no sense buying them a second time.

The chocolate drop was definitely a must and Lex began dipping the tips of each of them...until Cassia said that. "Fascinating. Well you can tell those people to shove off because you're taken." She concluded with a grin. Whoever these people were, they needed to find a bestie somewhere else. Juuuuust saying.

"Add the sprinkles then we'll officially be over this."

Sophie began the process of folding over each cookie. She didn't exactly know HOW she was going to fold these into fortune cookie shapes. It was like learning to tie your shoes when you were a little kid. You saw other peoples' tied shoes, but you couldn't just whip your own into a little bow without being shown how. You had to be taught. That's kind of how Sophie felt now. How was she supposed to randomly know how to make all the right folds?

Once all the cookies were folded, Sophie tried to get a good mental picture of what a fortune cookie should look like. All she had to do was kind of halfway fold the cookies once more time each, right? Sophie picked up the first cookie and experimented with it. It might not be a perfect fortune cookie, but it was at least the right shape! Sophie did the same with the other cookies, and pretty soon, they were all shaped like fortune cookies.

She felt that something was missing. What was it? Hmm? Right! She or they usually licked off the remaining dough that got stuck to the bowl. Duh. How could they have missed it. Though this wouldn't be as delicious as if they were making cake but all the same. Bowls had to be licked and all. She made a mental note to get back to that one. Unless one of the elves snatched to get it cleaned.

"Sure, tomorrow when the headmistress and I have our daily cup of tea together I will suggest it," she joked. Imagine her actually doing that over the year. Though, some firsties did seem to think that Head Girls were so very important and were like the headmistress's BFF or something. It was nice having them think like that but surly it would have been way nicer to be actually true. All the things she could ask for. But surely it had their cons, too.

These words were she felt important always flattered the snake. Lex just knew what to say. Always did. "They really should." They being non-existent people. But still!

So decorating time. Seeing as Lex was handling the chocolate dipping part she dealt with the sprinkles. "Those are going to be so delicious," She stated. Of course they were going to. However as she looked at the cookies she remembered something, "Is there any chance you remember which cookies have the fortunes inside of them?" She was guessing no but maybe Lex thought to set those out. Cassia did not know if it was important or not but it just occurred to her. Hopefully it would not be of importance.

And finally they were done! WOOT! Cassia took a step back admiring the cookies and beamed at Lex.
