After taking down notes, the boy moved on to the next activity. Of course, they had to do this first before they go on to...whatever they'll be doing next. Perhaps, bake the fortune cookie themselves? He was...quite sure of it.

Oookay. Three zodiac signs? This should be easy. Ethan got three cards for Libra, Taurus, and Sagittarius and read through each card. He wanted to say so many things for each card, but he didn't want to sound preachy or anything. That'll just bore the reader, no? Anyway...onto writing the fortunes of the misfortuned.

Then Lucy started to read the horoscope of Gemini..
Then she began to thinking and she wrote down:
..."Yes!!! I like it!!!"

And now it's up to the sign of the Taurus.
Lucy read the horoscope with care..She didn't understand what she had read but one word has impressed her mind: freedom..Then she started to write:
The lesson was very interesting! Lucy was curious to see what would happen next!

At first Lex didn't notice because she was busy watching the elf pour her more hot chocolate but then it became hard to miss as Professor Smiles actually walked up to her. You'd think a proper response from her was worth 50 galleons or something and the Gryffindor got the feeling that it would only get worse if she gave a light shrug and informed her that in fact she wouldn't like to share anything on the subject happening right now.

No easy way out.

Alexa forced a wide smile across her face. "I'd love to, believe me Professor, considering how riveting a topic this is and all but would you believe my limited knowledge? I'd just hate to say something that didn't make sense, you know and disrupt your class on account of how brilliant a job I think you're doing keeping everyone on the right track. Far be it for someone like me to ruin all you've worked to accomplish so far." The painful smile stretched wider though it continued to look effortless because see, she was being NICE.

If that was all then she would grudgingly happily get into the activity the Professor set out for them. At, random she picked several notes because apparently she'd be needing these.

Gemini, Scorpio and Cancer. Yup. Those were her choices.

Jasmine re-read the horoscopes and glanced down at her notes. It was time to make the fortunes. She decided to start with Aries because that was the fortune that she found to be easiest. Jasmine wrote her first one on a piece of parchment.

One down two to go. Next Jasmine tackled her Libra fortune. She found this one to be more difficult and it took her longer to come up with a fortune.

Jasmine saved Virgo for last and now it was time to give this fortune more thought. After several minutes, Jasmine came up with a fortune that she was satisfied with. She quickly wrote it down on the parchment.

Glad that she had completed her first task, Jasmine was ready to make the cookies.

More hot chocolate? Brilliant!

And it looks like manners worked well. Something the Slytherin really was going to keep in mind. "Thanks, Pips!" he said, giving the house elf a smile before he took a sip of his hot chocolate. Mmmmmm! Warmed him right up, that did. Good stuff, good stuff.

The sipping continued, even when Professor Cassia went on to talk about........ Astrology? Grayson sat up a little straighter so that he could get a better view of the cards that she had sorted out. Making their own fortune cookies sounded like a MUCH better way of spending the class. Yes. Very much better than figured out those freaking birth charts they had had to do last lesson which gave him some WEIRD meanings.

The only downside was that they had to write the fortunes themselves. Something that required a LOT of effort and thinking.

Taking one last sip of his hot chocolate, Grayson put the cup down before heading over towards the cards to choose three. Three signs. Only three. So heeeeeeeeeee was going to piiiiiiick.......

............. Eeeny meeny mino mo...........

Sagittarius, Cancer anddddd Aries. Picking up one of each, the fifteen year old headed right back to his seat to get started.

So...it had to kinda be like the fortune from the horoscope. Vague. She could do vague. Vague happened all the time just not with her, vague was often lost on her. Lex reached for the cards being passed around that she would use to create the fortune. Don't ask what they'd be doing with fortunes when their own actions were what shot them in the leg or pushed them forward, she just didn't know anymore and wouldn't really say.

First of the lot was Gemini. This one seemed simple enough and Lex quickly got to scribbling down what she'd interpretted from the parchment.



How accurate that actually was was beyond her. On to the next! Er...Scorpio was it? Alexa leaned over to get a better look and read of it. This one....was pretty clear cut too and again she got to scribbling.



The last of the fortunes was Cancer. This one wasn't quite like the other two actually. A little disappointing when she thought about it but she got something written down for it anyway.



THERE. Done.

All right. Moving on to the fortunes! Ethan had to admit that this was a bit of a challenge. He really isn’t a person who gives great pieces of advice, but at least he knows he’s trying. Well, he’s trying really hard right now. Treating as if he was giving words of wisdom to the dear readers, Ethan wrote the following:

He started off with his own zodiac sign, Libra. The blond boy thought that he should listen to his own advice. He’s been impatient as of late.

It was more of a saying, rather than a piece of advice, but it should work nevertheless. Who knows, maybe another Libra kid in this room needs that reminder. Now, for Taurus:

Well, now that was better, no? Moving on to the next, Sagittarius:

Hmmmmmm. Really not the best fortune readings out there, but right now, his crazy creative juices seemed to be frozen at the moment. Ugh. Now where’s that elf offering more hot chocolate? Gone? Sigh.

Interesting lesson so far. One because kitchen, two because cookies. And was there a need for more reasons? She thought not!! She wondered if they would get to eat the cookies they were to make afterwards. But then again, the elves were walking around offering cookies and hot chocolate. The seventeen years old gave innocent cute looks. She'd like the treat.

Meanwhile, she had some working to do. She was not going to be distracted by cookies nope. That ship long sailed. not really.

So to pick three zodiac signs and write fortunes. Didn't sound hard but wasn't easy. Surely could be managed, though. As start, she knew she wasn't going to pick her own zodiac sign. So that's one of the table.

And because she didn't know how to choose she decided to be totally random. The professor didn't mention it was that important. Finally, Cassia decided on three and started writing them down in order to not forget them or change her mind. This was official now. Aquarius, Aries, Capricorn

Adi now studied the three cards. Well, he mainly focused on Gemini's for now. He'd start off his fortune writing with that sign. Er...okay. What did he write in reply to that? He re-read the card before scribbling:
Ah crud. Did that sound too cheesy? This was so not Adi's thing. He frowned at what he had written. Meh. He didn't have anything better so he moved on to Libra. After studying that card, he wrote:

Now, that one sounded a lot better. Onto the next one, then. Pisces. Once again, the boy studied the card for a moment then wrote:

Annnnd he was done! Adi felt please with his work. A few sips of hot chocolate would be his reward. Sip, sip, sip.

Angel looked at the signs she had chosen and smiled, they looked really good though some of them were really weird about a few of the different fortunes that had been given, she would work them out though.



Angel thought that was a nice fortune now all she had to do was the next couple of the fortunes, she decided to do Cancer next.



Angel smiled, she really liked that fortune now though she had one more that needed to be done.



Angel thought that this was really a cool fortune and she was glad that she had thought hard about the fortunes, she also thought that this was an amazing lesson and she couldn't wait to hear what they were doing next.

The Gryffindor looked over at the two fortunes he had already written. They didn't actually look half bad! Plus, his handwriting was actually pretty legible so that was always a good thing.




Right moving on. He had to make one more, but for which sign?! There were so many possibilities to choose from! The Gryffindor took one more look at the options, before deciding on Leo! Didn't Leo have something to do with a lion? And he was a lion! A Gryffindor lion that wanted to get the lead back!! So yes. Leo it was.

Merlin, wasn't ONE enough? Zahra was good with one.

Ooooh! OOOOH! Fern snapped happily when Professor Morgan told the class about how to create a fortune. The 13-year-old was an EXCELLENT advice giver, not only because she regularly read the Daily Prophet's Agony Auntie Advice Column, but also because of her natural womanly intuition.

Grabbing a card for Aquarius, Fern read the horoscope and then nodded knowingly to herself before writing out the fortune using her favorite dark orchid ink:

After making sure her i's were all dotted with hearts, Fern moved on to Sagittarius.

Okay, now that she had chosen her three signs, it was time for Lux to get started on the fortunes. She needed to get her creative juices flowing, and this should be fun. Looking at the card for Gemini to start off, she thought hard for a moment before jotting down a simple fortune:

Satisfied with her work so far, Lux looked at the card for Pisces. As far as she knew, This was Emmy's sign so that was pretty cool. She got to make a fortune for one of her besties. Smiling, she wrote down what she wanted it to say:

What did they need to do next?

Cassie walked around the room as the students got busy working. They were doing so well that Cassie couldn’t help but snap as she moved. “Very good, wonderful, all of you.” It was soooo amazing watching them all work. She stopped at a few tables to watch the students. Were they confused at all? It didn’t seem that way. Even Miss Cambridge seemed to be doing wonderful and her attitude was so much better this lesson. It was just fabtastic.

Just glancing at some of the fortunes Cassie stopped and blinked once again at Zhara, “Oh no.. no Miss Zhara you can’t have something so violent. Not in my class. We do not punch people in the faces. We can hug, say nice things, or give out snaps, but no punching. Please change that.” She beamed at the girl before moving on.

“Alright class, it’s time to move on. Now we are going to start the actual making of the fortune cookies. Now I’m just awful in a kitchen so I have asked the house elves to come and help.” She beamed towards all the wonderful elves that had come to help. “They will be here if you need them to help you bake. I can help as well, but I warn you at my house my stove is a shoe rack not somewhere to cook.” Nope she didn’t have the slightest idea. The house elves were ready to help though, weren’t they? She glanced around and figured they were.

“Now you can work together or you can alone either is fine. Please follow the instructions that are on the parchment cards, if you need an allergy card you can come up and get one from this counter.” She flicked her wrist and the parchment cards went to their tables then she pointed towards the allergy ones. “Like I’ve said before I do have an allergy potion so you can do the activity without substituting if you wish.” It was up to them really which they did. “Now remember which cookie you’ve put which fortune in. Feel free to make some extra fortunes for the other cookies or just have them for a yummy snack. Once you’ve made them I have set up a little decoration station over in the corner to make them a little fancier if you’d like. There is a chocolate dipping, sprinkles, and some icing. So just have some fun with this. “ She rechecked each table to make sure their ingredients and tools were all set since the house elves had been working so hard. When everything looked like it was in place, she snapped excitedly. “Alright you can get started!” Eeep! How fun!

Toddles hurried back into the work area part of the kitchen carrying the special bag of flour the Professor Missus asked him to bring. This bag was much smaller than the first so it was easier to see over the top and also much less heavy. Toddles just hoped he wasn't in too much trouble for not cleaning up the mess right away. But Tippin was taking care of it now so it should be okay. Besides, he couldn't ignore the Missus.

"Toddles has brought the oat flour, Missus Cassie," the little elf said as he set it down near the other ingredients. See, Toddles was a good elf. But this bag didn't make the same puff cloud when he put it down though. Boo.

He looked around at the studentsies all already hard at work then back at the professor lady when she said the elves would help. Toddles could help! That could be fun! He started wandering around, seeing if anybody needed Toddles.

THEY WERE NOW GOING TO MAKE THE COOKIES!??!?!

Hooray. He couldn't wipe the smile off of his face. For all he coudl have cared, he could have started improv snapping but the boy was stil a little self-concious about his image in front of his fellow classmates so he remained calm. Instead, Simon quickly wrote down the recipe in his notebook. Then he glanced around the room for Holmes. "Ethan? Co-chefs?" he offered with a wide grin. Watson did need his Holmes. And vice versa.

Ethan looked up and scurried towards Simon’s side with his things and fortunes. “Let’s do this!” he said as he placed his satchel on the stool, and the fortunes he made on the table. He was able to differentiate the two recipes and asked, “Which one are we making? The regular recipe or the one with the oat flour?” he asked as he brought out his wand and started to clean their utensils with the cleaning spell. Just in case, you know?

The cookies! Finally. They were going to make ze COOKIES.

Leah snapped along with the professor as she smiled excitedly. What was with the theme cooking this term? Muggle studies, ancient runes, and now divination. She liked it, but it was not her speciality. It did help to keep warm, though.

The Hufflepuff looked at the recipe on the parchment cards and the allergy ones on the counter. She looked around the room for a partner. It was easy to spot Angel not far away. "Angel! Let's partner up." Leah called out, beaming.

Lucy was enthusiastic about the next activity..
She loved to cook!
She started to write down some notes following the instructions of the Professor..


Then she said:" Fantastic!

Missus was saying it was time for the house elves to start helping and Pips still had the hot chocolate in his hands. Hurrying towards the counter he scooted the container back. Turning he looked towards the studentsies.


"Any studentsies need help Pips is a good helper." He was a good elf and he would help the studentsies make the cookies for the missus lesson.

Time too get baking! Adi decided that he would work alone. There was a recipe to follow and as he found out in Muggle Studies when they were making pizza, a recipe wasn't that hard to follow. He was sure Professor Morgan and the elves had gotten everything ready but just to be sure, the Hufflepuff double checked that he had all the necessary ingredients. He liked to be organised, you know.



So, the first instruction. They had already made out the fortunes so the next thing to do was to shrink the pieces of parchment. No problem. Another sip of his hot chocolate before he got started. Sip! Now, where was his wand?

EEP!

The lesson was moving on, and Sophie had spent so much time with the first part of activity one that she still hadn't done the second part. Did she need those little strips of paper? They were making fortune cookies, so yes. Yes, she did.

Sophie ripped away a piece of parchment until it was the right size. Dipping her quill in ink, she quickly reread her notes on Pisces then wrote out a fortune.

Don't be afraid to let go of extra baggage. There's always something new just around the river bend!

Ohh, that sounded cool. Heh. Sophie turned her attention back to her notes then reread what she'd written about Aquarius. Hmm... Okay, got it. She tore off another piece of parchment just the right size then created a new message.

Don't be afraid to try that new idea that's been floating around in your mind! New adventures await!

Then, it was finally time to create the third and final fortune. Sophie repeated all the steps to getting the paper all set up then wrote the last fortune. This one was for Scorpio.
