It's early afternoon on this Valentine's Day Monday. The freezing cold weather outside has made more work for Professor Cassie to keep the tower warm for the students inside. Placing a few extra heating charms on the classroom, she is hoping to keep it toasty enough for the lesson.
As students make their way up to the tower and through the trap door they might not recognize the old Divination classroom. Cassie has made her own special style show through the small tables all over the room. Decorated in pinks and reds, she's placed red flowers on each table to get into the loving spirit. Tea cups full of tea and heart shaped cookies have been placed on each table as well. In the front of the room students will notice Happy Valentine's Day balloons floating around.
Professor Cassie is just finishing up placing a poster on the wall and moves to stand where a desk should be. Remembering one last thing she hurries to place the empty cup on an empty table near the door. Using her wand she opens the door to allow students to enter. Wearing a red dress and red heels, she beams her biggest smile to welcome her students enter.
A cute little poster full of hearts and red ink gives students their instructions:
Quote:
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!
Please come in and take a box of crayons from the cart. Once you find a seat at one of the tables pull out a piece of parchment and write one thing that you are proud that you have done or someone else has done today. Then come forward and place it into the cup. Head back to your seat and enjoy the Valentine tea and cookies!
Emmylou blinked then blinked some more. What was she going on about the Prefect girl? Emmylou zoned out at that part because she felt like it wasn't any of her business to be listening to that at all. Emmylou smiled and gave all of her attention to her Divinations professor. That was a lot for one person to say and it was a little confusing to the third year lioness. The blonde nodded and tried to really focus. She wish she could say that Kace was distracting her but that wasn't the truth at all. It was...well she didn't know what it was. There wasn't much going on in her brain right now. She was long, totally and utterly lost.
The class was really fun but she was confused by the sun and the moon. She wondered if they were opposites, they had to be because night and day were different but could that really be what a person was like? Emmylou pulled out her notebook and a pencil, she had to write this down. No parchment or quill for her because those were to messy and she just always seemed to make a mess of the ink or just mess up on what she was writing.
Emmylou flipped her page to 138, she looked at her birth chart. She need the Sun in 4th House. The third year used her finger to skim through the text until she found what she was looking for.
"I have the Sun in Fourth House."

After reading the passage three or even four times she was just a little bit confused. She wasn't one to be a dictator or well demanding. She sometimes wished that she could get away from the real world and go to Neverland or something, yeah Neverland because Peter Pan would be there. Now to the moon house/sign thingy.
"I got Moon in Eighth House."

The only thing Emmylou could do was blink. She wasn't on to be jealous, envious or...possessive. Was she psychic? Blink. Blink. Blink. She was confused with this one even more so than the sun house. Emmylou raised her hand.
"Miss Cassie! I mean Professor Cassie. I'm confused by the Moon House."

Uhhh...what?
Why was Sophie always confused in this class? It wasn't the professor's fault--it was all the subject's fault for being so hard! Sophie stared at the chart she'd made and looked for the Sun symbol. ...oh, there is was! It was at the top of the chart in the tenth house. Sophie looked at her book and read what it said for the Sun in the tenth house.
If you have the Sun in the 10th house, you may have a desire to attain success and power for the benefit of others or to seek success and power for yourself without thought of anyone else. You want to shine and be recognized for your accomplishments. You want to be really good at something. There is strong motivation towards succeeding in a career and/or personal achievements. You have the ability to inspire others through your example. You are ambitious and self-aggrandizement is possible. People in high places can help or hinder your career.
Success and power for others?! PSH. Like she was going to do something like that. The next sentence looked way better--success and power for HERSELF. Now they were talking! Shine and be recognized...yeah, yeah. Sophie was nodding along as she read. Really good at something?! That was beating the NUNDU! People in high places--yup, she was all good with some help from the powers that be!
That number ten was looking pretty good. With a grin, Sophie flipped the page to see what her Moon house was and what it said.
Twelfth house--right!
The Moon in the 12th house can indicate work behind the scenes in an institution, hospital or jail. There may be dealings with public welfare or those unfortunates of life. Conscious or subconscious sensitivity can be damaging if not held in check. You feel some sort of cross to bear which others may not be aware of and many troubles may occur. Secret enemies may try to take advantage of you. Through suffering comes obedience. Your mother may be of great distress to you. Serving others is the safest, shortest road to God. Teach to others what you have learned through your own suffering. Concerning vocation: You prefer little or no contact at all with the public in your job. Symbolically, this position is the author hidden away in the attic, the playwright who will not attend a performance of his work, the behind-the-scenes person. The personality is hidden and may be limited and confined. In work, these conditions are preferred in order to provide maximum security and comfort to the personality.
...WHAT?!
Sophie had no desire to go work with the people in Azkaban. That place was creepy, and she didn't even want to see it in person, much less go inside! Sophie read along, a frown on her face. This number twelve did NOT sound fun. Working with the unfortunate? A career where she basically made herself into a hermit crab? UGH.
"Professor?" she asked, raising her hand. "Can you just tell one of your numbers 'thanks, but no thanks'?"
Alright now time to do some digging in his chart and book. He opened his book first to page 138, and decided to figure out his sun symbol. He look and realized his sun was in the 11th house. Once he figured that out, he wrote it down in his notebook. "I got the Sun in the 11th House.." he said still scribbling down his notes.

You are responsible, liberal and broad-minded. You are a humanitarian who would rather be popular than powerful. You have organizing ability and probably take the leadership role in group activities or friendly get-togethers.
He read his sun sign and he couldn't agree more with it. It described him well. He loved to work in groups. He looked around at Emmy's and the other's and he seemed right on track. Now onto the moon aspect. He looked for his moon, he saw his moon was in the 2nd place. So he looked up in his textbook and copied it down. "I got the Moon in the 2nd house." he said to himself still scribbling.

Perhaps you alternate between being thrifty and careless with your money. Concerning vocation: the emphasis here is on self-worth. You need a work structure that allows public view or access, or working with women or the public. Like a pretty piece of jewelry in a department store window, you should be within the public's view while working. This may not entail working with the public directly, however. You feel as if you need to be seen while working. Becoming one with your work allows you to identify personally and emotionally with some life purpose and to project this to the public at large. Because you so closely identify with your work, your ideas of how successful you are as a person are directly tied in with the success you feel at your work environment.
He read it and it did seem lengthy but it seemed true. He shrugged and put down his quill. Man his hand was cramping! But he seemed done for now. He heard Emmy's question and agreed with hers waiting to hear the answer.

Benny looked to Adi as the Hufflepuff nudged him, blanking at the question asked of him. A present for Angel? What kind of prese--oh. The Gryffindor couldn't help but color as he registered the source of the jest. His friend was teasing him about Angel and it being Valentine's day. So now he was technically wearing more red, this time on his face, the boy looking down at his notes and trying to hide. Or at the very least, calm his embarrassment.
He was quite grateful as the professor worked for their attention once more, moving on to the actual reading of the birth chart or natal chart as was mentioned. Benjamin tried his best to pay attention to what was being said, struggling a little to keep up and not get lost. He would certainly need to know all he could about what he was looking for in the crazy drawings he had done.
Left to their own devices, the third year turned his book page to the sun chart first, looking for the sun in the 6th house. In fact both the sun and moon were supposedly in the 6th house if he was reading it correctly. Finding what he was looking for, Benny copied it down into his notes.
SPOILER!!: Sun in sixth house
If you have the Sun in the 6th house, you feel a need to serve others or to be of service to them. Or perhaps it's that you simply want to be served yourself. There may be a tendency to wallow in self-pity, seek sympathy for any little thing, or to develop hypochondriac tendencies. You are a faithful, diligent and loyal employee who is usually helpful to fellow employees. Some with this position are domineering and develop a false pride with those they work with or for. You can be an administrator, but you may prefer to be an employee. If you are in a position of authority, be careful not to be the office tyrant. You are very happy when you are busy and you hate being bored. You take great pride in your work and your workplace. This is where you want to shine and be better than all others. Worry and anxiety, especially over the desire to do things perfectly, can be detrimental to your health. You need to learn how to relax and not let stress and tension get to you. With this position you should be especially careful to take good care of your physical body.
Reading it over a few times, Benny didn't think it connected all too well with what his personality was like. But then the professor had said it was how people saw you. Really?! Shaking his head, he moved onto the moon in the 6th house, copying it into his notes as well.
SPOILER!!: Moon in the 6th house
If you have the Moon in the 6th house, you are considerate of fellow workers and desire to nurture them in a productive work environment. Service to others is a fine outlet for your personality. Moodiness and sensitivity can be a problem, though. Fluctuations in health are possible, perhaps mostly due to worry and feelings of insecurity. Emotional tension along with digestive troubles indicate the need to relax. Stop worrying. You should not eat when overworked, overtired, or when you are upset. Take care of your health and watch your diet. Concerning vocation: You are probably totally absorbed within your work situation. You can be a workaholic. Many job changes are possible and working with the public or with women is indicated.

Jasmine found this whole discussion very interesting. She couldn't wait to find out what those stars had to say about her. Looking at her birth chart, she discovered that her Sun was in the Tenth house and her moon in the First house. Flipping through her book to find the explanation of both of these, Jasmine began to read.
SPOILER!!: Sun 10th house
If you have the Sun in the 10th house, you may have a desire to attain success and power for the benefit of others or to seek success and power for yourself without thought of anyone else. You want to shine and be recognized for your accomplishments. You want to be really good at something. There is strong motivation towards succeeding in a career and/or personal achievements. You have the ability to inspire others through your example. You are ambitious and self-aggrandizement is possible. People in high places can help or hinder your career.
Jasmine didn't know what to think about her Sun report. It sounded like it could go either way........use your powers for good or for evil. If the information did pertain to her, she hoped it would be the positive not the negative. Yes,she wanted to be good at something. She was good at something and had worked very hard to get there. She was self-motivated......true and she always wanted to do her best. Unfortunately it sounded like this 10th house person was one step away from being a power hungry, egotistical, attention hog. If she could just be on the good side of that description.......
SPOILER!!: Moon 1st house
If you have the Moon in the 1st house, moodiness and changeability are keywords for you. These emotions can bring on much indecisiveness, un-assuredness, and insecurity. Being self- conscious about your appearance can also bring about mood swings. You are sensitive and perhaps worry too much over what people might think or say about you. Forget about pleasing everyone (it can't be done) and instead focus on doing your best. Develop self-confidence and the courage to be different and don't let it get to you. You can be very sensitive to your environment so do not go to places that might bring up ill feelings or bad memories in you. Your sub-conscious is probably very strong and sometimes quite unmanageable. Be less sensitive to the real or imagined slights of the people around you. Stay positive. You can be quite restless and impulsive. Your mother perhaps affected you greatly as you were growing up. Some of your strengths and many of your weaknesses are probably due to this. Her influence is and may continue to be strong, both for good or ill. Concerning vocation: the emphasis is upon your individuality and doing your own thing. Try to find something that allows you to express your own uniqueness within your work. Find something that you can really put your heart and soul into. Without that deep emotional connection you will simply go through the motions and be unhappy in and with your work.
A little bothered by her first description, Jasmine found the page that talked about her Moon in the first house. She started to read and was very surprised. Besides the moodiness and impulsivity, she felt everything else could be applied to her in some way. Jasmine was often unsure and dare she say insecure. She was sensitive and hated for others to be angry with her. Her mother clearly had an effect on her. She was the one from which Jasmine obtained her magical ability. She was the one who cared for her when her father was stationed elsewhere or deployed. It was her mother who demonstrated what it meant to be a strong woman. And the vocation statement.......yes, Jasmine liked to do her own thing and what better way to express herself than through dance.
Jasmine didn't know what to believe. She felt the second description was pretty accurate. The first one, well the jury was still out on that one. She would have to ask Cris for his opinion. Maybe there was something she just wasn't seeing.

One of the good things that came from this explanation was the fact that his ego like that there was something that represented it.
He was also glad to have been cleared up on what a little part of his birth chart meant but that wasn't as important.
Once the Professor had finished explaining what was to be done, Grayson first turned to the page that had the sun chart or whatever it was called and listed the explanations to each of the houses. According to his birth chart, the sun belonged to the 12th house so, Grayson ignored the other explanations and turned to that paragraph instead.
Text Cut: Sun in the 12th house
If you have the Sun in the 12th house, there is the desire or the need to serve others in this lifetime. At times this is in direct conflict with a desire to seek seclusion from the world and/or wallow in self-pity seeking sympathy and service from others. This life may be a contemplative life due to the need to reshape negative character traits from past lives. You have an awareness of the oneness of life. You may lack confidence in your abilities. You have an empathy with sick or mentally disturbed people. You may develop or have clairvoyant powers and an interest in occult subjects and psychic phenomena. You may enjoy playing the martyr.
What in the freaking name of Merlin was THIS?!
It was a bunch of dragon dung, that's what. Because there was no way that he had a desire to serve others. Just no. It wasn't happening. He had no such desire. And excuse you, he had a LOT of confidence in his abilities, thank you very much. As for whether he liked to seek sympathy, frankly, Grayson didn't care. And he wasn't reshaping anything for anybody so...........
............. he was moving swiftly onwards.

Oh jeez, this was even worse.
It was interesting that the moon sign lay right on the line between the first house and the twelfth but what was this about pleasing everyone? Of course it couldn't be done. That's why he didn't even try it in the first place! JEEZ. The bit about his mum caused him to narrow his eyes. What. What kind of influence? An WHY was the second one suggesting that he would either go to a boring place, a hospital or jail? He did not WANT to go to jail. No, thank you. He also didn't want to work in a hospital. Being around all those sick people did not sound like his idea of fun.
Fine. Whatever. This was still a bunch of dragon dung and it was CLEARLY wrong.
He DID have a question so his hand went up in the air. "Professor? What happens if your moon or sun lies on the line between two houses?" DID his even lie on the line between the two houses?
Nessa knew exactly what her birth chart said, she had done one before. Well, Cassie had done one for her and explained a bunch of things about it for her. But even though she knew the gist of it all, she still found it very fascinating and of course she set straight away with her crayons to make one with the class. Unfortunately, she did not have a copy of the textbook.
"Can I just.." she whispered to the student next to her once they were done doing their chart and she slid the student's book closer to her. It didn't take her long to finish her own.
SPOILER!!: Professor Glendower's birth chart
Then she had to wait for a student to finish doing the other steps until she could borrow the textbook again. Really, she should just get her own copy. Again, she had done her signs previously, but she was eager to do a refresher on them. It had been a while. So.. Sun in the 10th house.

Hmm. She could hardly find herself thoughtless, so she was totally going with the first part - success for the benefit of others. That totally sounded like her! And of course she wanted to shine and be amazing! Yes, yes.. she thought of herself as pretty inspiring as well. Spot on! The chart got a few excited claps. Moving on..
Quote:
If you have the Moon in the 5th house, romances and attachments to children can be decidedly emotional. There is a constant search for pleasure and emotional self-expression. Activities concerning children are pronounced. Too much emphasis may be placed upon having a good time and being the center of attention. There are mood swings and fickleness in love affairs. A heightened desire to feel loved and important may need to be controlled. You are a pleasure-seeking person with a lot of charm. Fluctuating emotions may interfere with your creativity. Concerning vocation: The theatrical, exhibitionist, creative dimensions of the work needs are increased. Teaching and taking care of children are emphasized. Speculation and the dramatizing of all experiences are possible.
Nessa's moon was in the fifth house and she quickly read before she had to give the book back to the generous student. Oooh she liked the romance part and the children mentions seemed to be pretty evident considering that she worked with them now ore than ever. Hmm.. she did love to be the center of attention, what actor didn't? Was she placing too much emphasis on that? She'd have to keep an eye on herself to make sure she wasn't going overboard. Oh goodness.. theater, creativity, teaching.. of course that was all her. She beamed up at the front of the room, awaiting the next part of class.

After the birth chart drawing it was time to find the sun and the moon and their house significance. Surprisingly enough, Beverly flipped to page 138 in a matter of seconds instead of taking her sweet time. What? This was sort of interesting, the information hunting, that was. She was the predator. Always. Yes.
Looking at her chart she noted the sun landed on house one. That had to be good, yeah? Number one, the early bird, the BEST, the WINNER. Yeah, yeah? Well, lets see about that...
Text Cut: Sun :: House One
If you have the Sun in the 1st house, you are important to yourself and will spend much time and energy on your own personal affairs. It's not that you do not care about others, it is just that you have your work to do and it is very important to you. You want to shine and be noticed for who and what you are. You may want to lead or be in a position of dominance. You are confident, independent and responsible. But watch for tendencies to be power-seeking or dictatorial. Be alert to false pride and try to be more humble. Give proper credit to others for their contributions.
OH. MY. MERLIN.
This...it's like it NEW her. Beverly blinked at the text. Yes, yes. She was independent. She liked to lead dominate. And humble? What on Earth was THAT?.
SMIRK.
That one was just...PERFECT. Now on to the moon. What other greatness did it tell about her...
Text Cut: Moon :: House Six
If you have the Moon in the 6th house, you are considerate of fellow workers and desire to nurture them in a productive work environment. Service to others is a fine outlet for your personality. Moodiness and sensitivity can be a problem, though. Fluctuations in health are possible, perhaps mostly due to worry and feelings of insecurity. THIS WAS NOT FAIR.
She LOVED food. And...was the textbook maker watching her? This was somewhat...honest. Somewhat...on the point. Somewhat...she DIDN'T like IT. And she was going to lie if they asked her if it was true. Nope. It was't. She was in control and she loved food. HMPH.

Errrrrrrr.....
He spent a couple of minutes just staring at his chart, trying to decipher it. Sure, the Professor HAD made it all look rather easy finding the sun and moon numbers, hadn't she? Mhmm.. He frowned and turned to page 138 into his textbook and scanned the page. Then he glanced at his own chart and couldn't find the numbers. He squinted slightly and could make a very small '12' where his sun was. He glanced at his book and read the text.
SPOILER!!: Sun in the Twelfth House
If you have the Sun in the 10th house, you may have a desire to attain success and power for the benefit of others or to seek success and power for yourself without thought of anyone else. You want to shine and be recognized for your accomplishments. You want to be really good at something. There is strong motivation towards succeeding in a career and/or personal achievements. You have the ability to inspire others through your example. You are ambitious and self-aggrandizement is possible. People in high places can help or hinder your career.
Yes, Simon did have a desire to attain success. The young man was very ambitious. He smiled proudly at the description, feeling as if it suited him quite well. Simon wanted to be good at not just something but everything that he could do. Feeling satisfied with his result, he then looked for the little moon symbol. His blue eyes widened when he found it in the little pizza slight with the number eight written it. Ooh. Interesting. He read on further.
SPOILER!!: Moon in the 8th house
If you have the Moon in the 8th house, you desire security and perhaps look for it through other people's possessions or resources. You have self-doubt and worry. You may be subject to jealousy, envy and possessiveness. Psychic sensitivity is noticeable and psychic abilities can be developed, hopefully along positive lines. There may be financial gain through a partnership, business or through marriage. You are intrigued by what motivates others. Preoccupation with sex or death can exist for you. Concerning vocation: A work situation dependent upon others' resources is noted. Work involving reform, transformation, rehabilitation, mystery, psychology, playing detective, or research work appeals to you.
Okay, so this wasn't exactly accurate for the Slytherin. He was definitely intrigued by what motivates his fellow colleagues as well as pretending to be a detective with Ethan in the Greenhouse. However, he was certain that he wasn't over-worrying or envious of others. Okay, so he might've been a little bit envious that Agatha got to go on a super cool vacation with one of the most awesome people at the school or that most of his friends had grown up in this awesome world.
He brought himself away from those thoughts and focused on the Professor once more.

Mo had to wait patiently for his book to be returned, but he flashed a very brief smile at the professor when she offered it to him, still opened to the correct page. That was nice of her. She wasn't Professor Pretty, but that wasn't her fault. She was nice. Pretty, even, in an entirely flashy way. Acceptable replacement, IF she knew what she was talking about.
Might as well get to that, right? Mo traced his birth chart circles until he found the sun, which was... the 8th house. Mo skimmed the text, noting the themes of selfishness, wanting to be taken care of, being closed off emotionally... not good stuff and it didn't feel very accurate. The other comments were more likely, the parts about wanting to improve himself. The bit about the the inheritance, maybe. And an interest in Divination for sure, considering he was right here in class. So points for effort, but it didn't feel like a spot on hit.
He moved on to the moon house, tracing the lines again until he found... the seventh house. This one almost seemed to be about Cat, and Mo wanted to show her what it said. He attracted partners who wanted to mother him? That wasn't very flattering for either of them. There was one bit... where'd it go? Ah. He was influenced by his friends and wanted to be liked. Very true. Another one of those, although this one seemed much closer to the mark than the first.

Cris was still contemplating how almost inaccurate the traits identified on his birth chart were. Yes they had been derived from his birth data but it could still be possibly wrong, right? Cris wanted to ask Professor Morgan how accurate these charts were but decided to stay silent for the time being.
He glanced over at Jasmine and wondered what she was thinking. "May I?" he whispered to Jasmine before glancing down at her birth chart and then making reference to the pages. After he read what had been written regarding the position of both her sun and moon signs, Cris looked up from the book to look at her, brows raised.
Interesting. All the good stuff the text was saying about the position of her sun and moon signs, that was Jasmine. He had to disagree about the moodiness thought. Ever since they met, he had never seen her in a moody or bad temper, and he didn't expect to either.
Yes! he had been right. Not all of the readings were accurate.
Agatha had to resist the urge to rest her head on her book while the professor kept talking and talking and talking about all that she was talkng about. How boring.
The girl looked to see what the sun and moon signs looked like and tried to find where her ones were. Sun in the first house moon in the.... eleventh. Now she needed to check what that meant because that didn't tell her much so far. Flipping to page 138, it didn't take her too long to find the info about herself.
Text Cut: Sun in the 1st house
If you have the Sun in the 1st house, you are important to yourself and will spend much time and energy on your own personal affairs. It's not that you do not care about others, it is just that you have your work to do and it is very important to you. You want to shine and be noticed for who and what you are. You may want to lead or be in a position of dominance. You are confident, independent and responsible. But watch for tendencies to be power-seeking or dictatorial. Be alert to false pride and try to be more humble. Give proper credit to others for their contributions.
As she read that, Agatha sat up straighter and she actually could see a LOT of her in that. In all of that, even. Wow. That was impressive!! She blinked a couple of times as she stared wide-eyed at the page for a bit. Woooow! The third year chose to ignore the part in which it told her to try to be more humble and give proper credit to others. That was rubbish. She was amazing, wasn't she? Even the book said so.
Maybe this Divination thing wasn't too bad after all.
Onto the moon part then. It should be just as good. Flipping through the pages until she reached 140, Agatha read the paragraph about her moon.
Text Cut: Moon in the 11th house
If you have the Moon in the 11th house, popularity with women often comes with this position. Many of your friends will be female. The feeling of belonging to a group increases your feelings of security. If you feel you do not "belong", then negative emotions surface that all basically have to do with your own needs for security. Humanitarian projects may be important to you as you can develop your nurturing instincts with or for the group. You enjoy working for the good of the group instead of just your own good. You are responsive to the feelings of others. Concerning vocation: The network of friendships within the work situation is emphasized. Friends may help get the job, make the job rewarding and will probably endure after the job is done. A friend's advice about work opportunity or direction is perhaps more important than that of a professional counselor.
...What was all that rubbish? This was ALL wrong. Popularity with women, many of her friends would be female? Pfffffffffffft. If you feel you do not "belong", then negative emotions surface that all basically have to do with your own needs for security. Agatha frowned immediately as she pushed the book away from her and glared at it. Rubbish! She felt her face burning and her frown got deeper. She was NOT insecure AND she had loads of friends!!! Like..... like.................... Simon. And Beverly! Beverly was her friend, right? What a silly book and what a silly, SILLY subject. This moon business was all rubbish, she didn't believe any of that.
FROWN.

SPOILER!!: Cris
QUOTE=FireboltAvis88;11629571]Cris studied his birth chart before leaning over to peek at Jasmine's. Then he smiled at her before pulling his over to show his birth chart to her.
"Looks like my sun sign is in my 3rd house, while my moon sign falls in the 12th house. Let's see what this means," Cris quickly flipped to Page 138 to read what it said for his sun sign.
Text Cut: Sun sign in the 3rd House
If you have the Sun in the 3rd house, knowledge is important to you and you chase as much of it as possible. You enjoy passing on the knowledge you have gained. Although you are probably very open to new ideas, there yet may be the desire for scientific proof before anything can be believed. Your mind enjoys creating and it is thorough and self-reliant. Pride and intellectual domination may be something you need to work on, especially intellectual pride. Patience may also need developing. Misunderstandings can occur with siblings or neighbors due to your belief that you are always or mostly right. You have a strong desire to learn and this may take you on many short journeys. You need to communicate and there may be writing or speaking ability.
Okay...some of the traits sounded positive while others...hmmm...He wasn't impatient and proud...was that how people saw him? Cris hoped not.
Cris quickly turned to page 140 of his book, hoping that the position the moon sign was on his birth chart represented something better.
Text Cut: Moon Sign in the 12th House
Egad! this didn't sound better either. Cris looked desperately at Jasmine. His moon sign made him sound like a matyr. Plus that issue with his mother. He loved his mother, and would worry if anything were to happen to her, but it was actually his father who was causing him the distress right now. So yes, that sounded inaccurate. How much else was?
Jasmine noticed Cris peeking over her shoulder to look at her chart. "Of course you can look", Jasmine said in response to his request. He had shared his chart with her earlier and now she wanted to see what his Sun and Moon explanations were. Having finished her own, Jasmine Cris' houses and then looked in her book for the information.
Well the Sun had it right with the knowledge part because no one valued knowledge more than Cris. He certainly shared his knowledge with others, all the time. Intellectual domination, no. Lack of patience, no. Cris was one of the most patient people she knew. The part about the siblings she doubted very much. The need to be right all the time, absolutely not. Writing ability-yes to the contest winner. So basically the answer was some true, some not so much.
The Moon information seemed completely wrong. Jasmine couldn't find one thing in that description that she agreed with. Behind the scenes, no contact with the public......just no. Unless Cris had a totally different personality living inside him that Jasmine had not seen, this was very off. "Are you sure that you put in all of the information correctly? This doesn't sound like you at all."

Arista after seeing what the Sun sign looked at went looking for it. OOOO there it was resting her finger on it. She waited for the Professor to finish. LITTLE NUMBERS? She saw no such numbers. After looking around the room she saw that everyone was looking in the middle of the circle. She giggled before looking to see where her sun was at. "My Sun is in the First House!!". Now she needed to check what that meant, right?. Flipping to page 138 she quickly found the the first house.

At first the Gryffindor was appalled at what she was reading and then she nodded. She did like to shine be noticed for what she was...Which was being a princess and an adventurer!! She was all of those! Wait what?? She was not dictatorial!! Be more humble!! She stuck her tongue out at that she was humble and she did give credit.
Onto the moon part then. It should be just as good and not criticise her like the last one did. Flipping through the pages until she reached 140, Arista read the paragraph about her moon house.

She was so NOT sensitive. She took things well! Take advantage of her she gave a chuckle at that. Suffering??? She didn't suffer. She was fine. She glared at her book but continued to breath. Little or no contact yeah right. AND she was so NOT a behind the scenes kind of person. Personality hidden, no thank you!!
She gave a frown before saying, "This is rubbish." She wasn't sure if she liked Divination now...

"Yes I'm sure I did. I put in my first and last name. My birthdate and the place I was born in. I'm sure my birth time is accurate too...I think. I may have misread an a.m for a p.m. that was indicated on my birth certificate, but I don't think I did. Who knows maybe these are latent traits that will surface later in life. Merlin! I do hope not," Cris whispered to Jasmine, a look of horror appearing on his face.

First the snapping and now all this confusing birth chart stuff? Maybe Zander should have just slept through the lesson... Is it too late to change his proud statement? Because he was most certainly not proud of coming to this class anymore... More like really angry with himself for it. This was all way too weird and not to mention, SUPER confusing. Sigh. Either way he followed instructions, and looked at the VERY confusing birth chart thingy for his sun sign. Whatever all that even meant.
After a while of searching through the picture for his sun, he finally caught glimpse of it! AHA! Putting his finger right on top, he followed it down to the numbers. So ten? House number? Like Hogwarts houses? Could his be in the tenth house of Gryffindor? ..... ?
SPOILER!!: Tenth Gryffindor House XD
If you have the Sun in the 10th house, you may have a desire to attain success and power for the benefit of others or to seek success and power for yourself without thought of anyone else. You want to shine and be recognized for your accomplishments. You want to be really good at something. There is strong motivation towards succeeding in a career and/or personal achievements. You have the ability to inspire others through your example. You are ambitious and self-aggrandizement is possible. People in high places can help or hinder your career.
..... That all sounded like a bunch of made up stuff. Zander did not want power.... Well, he did want to be good at something, but then again, doesn't everyone? Either way, all this sun sign stuff was definitely a little wonky and kind of out of place. He didn't match any of that... "Professor, I don't think mine is accurate? It doesn't sound like me at all."
Now they were going to look for the moon? It was hard enough trying to spot the sun. Gah. Divination is even more work that Arithmancy is.... Which is why he disliked both subjects, with the burning passion of a thousand and one tenth house suns. Yeah. He went there. Oh, finding his moon was actually super easy! It was in the biggest slice of his birth chart pizza! It was in the six! Aka, his favorite number, duh. Was this magical divination stuff a coincidence?
SPOILER!!: Sixth Houseeee
Okay... This one sounded a little better... Just a little. He did admit to being a somewhat, worrying type of person. Okay he worried a lot. BUT THAT WAS NATURAL STUFF OKAY!? Either way, this divination stuff was not impressing him at all. Nope. Nuhuh.

You know what? Lex just kinda bit her inner cheek to keep from saying anything further while she crumbled a cookie. Astrology was not a subject of Divination, it was a topic to be covered at most and the Professor would have been proud to know she knew the dispensible nature of Astrology but she wouldn't be saying all that because the woman would BEAM at her again and that...she would simply pass on. There were only so many smiles she could take in one day. Lex hadn't been distracting, she'd stated a point that they could have moved beyond if the Professor didn't stop to call Airey unprofessional like she did. Surely she didn't think Lex would have nodded and let them move on after that? Nooooope.
And what was with that look? Very poor misunderstanding? The Gryffindor bit down a little harder on the soft tissue on the inside of her cheek, still deciding it wasn't worth another smile. It was what it was and of no consequence to Alexa anyway. Her father and grandparents would never support a career in this field and she liked being in their good graces because it came with money.
Now came the part of the exercise that always proved Divination--AND ARITHMANCY FOR THAT MATTER--wrong. The part where it made assumptions, because that's all they were. The Gryffindor found the sun symbol and traced it to the 12.
SPOILER!!: Sun: 12
HDVCJHFDGJJSD!! O_O
Nooooooope. Nope nope nope. SEE why she didn't believe in this stuff? Was anyone else seeing this? Self-pity? Seeking sympathy? Lacking confidence? Were they talking the same conceited Gryffindor sitting right here? What EVEN??? Lex blinked at the page, then over at Professor Smiles. She couldn't honestly believe in this right here?
This just had her doubting the moon would be anymore accurate but she went looking for it anyway.
SPOILER!!: Moon: 3
If you have the Moon in the 3rd house, you possess intellectual curiosity and may well express your true feelings through speech, poetry or writing. Intellectualizing your feelings is probable. There is a strong need for communication and for gathering information, which is later shared with people in general or women in particular. You have a fine sense of humor and like to joke and play around. Travel appeals to you because it affords new opportunities for learning. Routine of any kind probably bores you and you are constantly looking for variety. Your ideas change at a moment's notice and you are forever flexible and adaptable to any situation. Learning is perhaps better accomplished through listening rather than reading. Your mind can be quite emotional at times. Concerning vocation: the emphasis is on communication and information exchange. Your personality gathers, shares and reacts to information. This position represents the intermediary, the go-between, and the dissemination functions.
Admittedly the moon wasn't as bad. No, that one she could leave with. The sun, not so much. Just no.

What did this have to do with Valentines Day again? Michael was getting totally lost on this whole birth chart thing. He wasn't even sure what this had to do with Divination. With a heavy sigh he pulled his chart closer so that he could see where his sun and moon sat.

When he had finished reading the interpretation, Michael pursed his lips but didn't say anything. Instead he read the next interpretation.
SPOILER!!: Moon in the 12th house
The Moon in the 12th house can indicate work behind the scenes in an institution, hospital or jail. There may be dealings with public welfare or those unfortunates of life. Michael pushed his textbook and his chart away from and crossed his arms over his chest. "MY SUN AND MOON SUCK!!"
Lucy looked at the book, saw where her sun was, then she moved to the center.
She said:" So my sun is in the 4th house."
Quote:
Sun in 4th House
If you have the Sun in the 4th house, you desire to build strong inner and outer foundations, but, at times, you may have the wish to retreat from society when life becomes difficult. The influence of either or both parents is strong for good or otherwise. There is pride in the home and that is where you want to shine and show your creativity. That is where you can be the real you. You want to be king of your castle, but just don't be too demanding at home. No one likes a dictator.
..And for the moon it was in the 10th house!

Moon in 10th House
If you have the Moon in the 10th house, what others think is very important to you. A desire for achievement can dominate your feelings. You may hold a public position managing or dealing with change, women or publicity. You have a personal charisma which enables you to influence others. Many changes of career are possible. You feel a need to be socially useful to society. Concerning vocation: You desire a take-charge position within work situations. Your individuality is emphasized, often to the point that no subordinate position within work can be easily tolerated. Your emotions must be controlled.
...Lucy seemed to recognize something exact, but something else that looked like her at all ..
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
Well, Kevin was really glad that he had used his real name, Kenji for this chart. Because if he had to draw another one he would have caused an uproar. So Gryffindor, you can all relax because this agressive lion is still calm.
Talking......looooooots of talking. "Geez she really loves to hear herself talk" the second year mumbled silently. He was half listening and half coughing in his tissue from time to time until they had to work again. And more looking up from the textbook. Mweh. Kevin flipped the pages and searched for his sun house first.

This was ..half right and half wrong. The points that were right was the desire to raise goals to a higher level. What was completely wrong was the rest of the text. Ah, mood swings. This was pretty accurate. Restless? yep. Impulsive? yep. Mommy's boy ......yep... ahem. Mood changeability? That sounded about right as well. A good example was their potions lesson. He is calm and doing his work but when SOMEONE comments on his work...he transforms from a cub to a lion RAAAWR. He kind of liked this moon house if he had to say to himself. After he was done , the Gryffindor grabbed a cookie and ate it. It tasted like nothing...stupid cold.
Sun and moon symbols. The symbols were cute, for one. Leah liked those, and that was a positive sign. The mention of pizzas made her lick her lips and grab a heart-shaped cookie. She could not help it. What was with lessons this year talking about food? Leah nibbled on the cookie while looking at her chart again. She soon found the sun sign... in the ninth house. Immediately fliping to the directed page, she read the description, frowning.
Quote:
If you have the Sun in the 9th house, you may wish to find, understand, live and accept a higher ideal or philosophy. But, then again, you may be one who insists upon scientific proof before anything can be believed. You can be the far- sighted thinker, one of high ideals and tolerance of other people's views or the dogmatic fanatic who just parrots what others have told you. Generally, there is a quest for truth and wisdom and a love of travel, not necessarily physical. You may have an aptitude for foreign languages and a love of foreign culture.
Hmm? She is a far-sighted thinker? That sounded niiice. The final part about having an aptitude for foreign languages and a love of foreign culture was kind of correct, as she was part Asian.
Leah moved to find her moon. It was about right opposite the sun, in the third house. Expecting more good things, the second year turned a page and read the description.
Quote:

She could not help but feel tired reading that much description. She possesses intellectual curiosity... like a Ravenclaw? Nope, not really. Fine sense of humor, that one was right. And YES!!! Learning is not accomplished through reading! So Leah closed her book with a smile and relaxed, waiting to move on. Hey, Divination was fun.
Queen of Typos | The OTHER OTHER Roro | WICKED is Good
She stared at the birth chart of her waiting for it to make sense. Nope, it didn't. So she just waited till the Professor started explaining. That's when the others finished. It seemed that everyone almost finished anyway so she wouldn't have to wait much longer.
And Professor Morgan started talking. Cassia's full attention was on the kind woman. Her hand was quick taking notes meanwhile, a lot of new and helpful information was being said, the snake tried not to miss a thing. This ALL could be on NEWTs.Luckily nothing seemed to be too complicated or hard to get. Absent-mindedly the seventh-year nodded at the explanation on how to know the houses where the moon and sun sign were.
Turning to her own birth chart, she tapped the parchment as she searched for the sun sigh. There it was! Sliding her finger over to the beginning of the pizze slice-like part she reached the number one. Meaning her sun sign was in the first house. Turning to the book she flipped through the pages until she got where she wanted.
Quote:
1st Sun House
If you have the Sun in the 1st house, you are important to yourself and will spend much time and energy on your own personal affairs. It's not that you do not care about others, it is just that you have your work to do and it is very important to you. You want to shine and be noticed for who and what you are. You may want to lead or be in a position of dominance. You are confident, independent and responsible. But watch for tendencies to be power-seeking or dictatorial. Be alert to false pride and try to be more humble. Give proper credit to others for their contributions.
As she read, her eyes only grew bigger, not a lot though, but it was obvious that she was a bit surprised. Of course she didn't not believe in Divination but reading those things right now which were accurate made her believe in it hugely. Eager as she was got her to search for the moon sign fast so she'd see how this one would work. hmm... Moon sign, fourth house.
Quote:
Fourth Moon House
If you have the Moon in the 4th house, there is a strong sense of family and home with this position. A love of antiques perhaps grounds you to your roots. Security is very important to you and you seem to get that through your foundations, your home and family, and your parents. Things collected serve as reminders of the past which you maybe try too hard to hold on to. Many changes of residence can occur until you find your personal foundation or roots. One or both parents are strong in your life. Concerning vocation: the emphasis is on the home. Maybe working in your home would be most fulfilling or maybe you simply need to make your place of work very homey, using photographs, mementos, furniture, etc., to establish the most personal atmosphere. The need during work is for security and comfort.
Yup, this one was correct as well. Cassia nodded sagely at it. Was it only her impressed by this? Peering at Lex's, the snake squinted. Stifling a laugh, she shook her head at what the sun house said. Nope, wasn't true. The moon house did fit more or less, though.

"Professor?" she asked, raising her hand. "Can you just tell one of your numbers 'thanks, but no thanks'?"
_____________
Hearing another question she turned to the Slytherin and grinned as she almost bounced over towards her. Her question did make her chuckle, “What do you mean dear? Is it your moon sign or Sun?” Sometimes younger students misinterpret the words, which could be the case at the moment. Looking towards the rest of the class, “I know some of you are probably thinking no way, especially with your moon sign, but remember as you mature your views and priorities do as well, so what might seem crazy now, might not be in the future.” Most of them were still finding themselves so the things that might be said about them really to them could sound not at all, but to an outsider looking in could be spot on, they just didn’t realize it yet.

_______________
The next question really caught her attention. Cassie moved towards the boy and looked down at his chart. She smiled at his work, “You are doing a-mazing and I can see where you think it’s in two houses, but look closely. If you take out these red and blue lines you will see this very thick black line. See it here? The moon is sitting right above the line so it’s only in the twelfth house. It can be tricky with all these different lines though, so I like how you are really looking and thinking about it.” Of course he got snaps for such a great effort!

She chuckled a bit as she walked towards the Gryffindor. Waiting for this type of response, “Ah yes, and ego sign that doesn’t sound like you. The sun can be harder for people to admit or see as themselves, because it is an outer characteristic. It’s what others see at times. If you are in a house that says you like to help others, you might take that as no you don’t, when really it’s just your personality. You help without even realizing your helping. As you grow you will come to find ore of awareness of these things.” Did that help explain it to Zander? She glanced at his chart. “Now this..” pointing to the ability to inspire others, “I’ve already seen this in you Mr. Zander. You came to my SNAC meeting, you didn’t know what was going to go on, you participated, you went outside and tried to help those animals and myself. So you inspired myself and others to keep working by your hard work. “ Giving him a smile she turned on her heel to help other students in need.

Then a word came that made the always smiling professor stop and turn her green eyes, “Oh no what’s wrong?” She over dramatically took her hand to her chest to be all sympathetic towards the upset child. “Those aren’t words I like to hear about our signs. Let’s look at them and see what’s wrong? Maybe it’s just a matter of misinterpretation.” She glanced down at his chart and snapped happily, “Your sun is in the same house as mine. This is a fabulous house to have your son in. It’s a great place for healers, professors, people who want to help. Serving others doesn’t have to mean literally serving like a house elf remember, I’m a server in a way, because I serve education to all of you. A healer is because he or she serves medicine and healing to patience.” Was that making sense to the boy? She hoped because it was a great way of looking at it. And this..” Pointing towards the self-confidence, “This is a part I love about these houses. They grow with you. You are young yet, so the self-confidence has room to grow. Something you might find that you lack now could make you become a stronger person because of your awareness of it.” See positive thinking was the best way to go about reading these. Finding the truth in them was the start of any great growth in who a person was. “Do you happen to know anyone that maybe be a little different than others? Mentally disturbed could have many forms of meanings. Or maybe someone sick that you have helped before? Empathy is something that shows great strength for a person in my field.
Moving back towards the front of the room she beamed at the class, “Great job everyone. I hope you found things that you liked and things that you didn’t.” Oh would that surprise anyone that she said that? “Your houses that your sun and moon are in only describe part of you. It’s not going to be all of you, so something’s could seem far fetched or off. It could be because you are still young, you really haven’t grown into your true identities yet. These traits are there you just don’t know it yet, or it could be missing a piece since you haven’t looked into the other planets and their houses. We could spend all day doing this, but what fun would that be when it’s Valentine’s Day! So we should use this for something special, don’t you think?”
It was getting closer to what she really wanted to do with this lesson and it was super exciting!!! “Now we will be putting some focus on your sun sign, but also the Venus and Mar symbols. We won’t be looking at their houses though. For this we will be looking at where they are placed in the Zodiac Wheel. Venus which looks like this, is considered the feminine symbol. Anyone want to venture as to why that is?” She looked around the room for answers. “Mars, which looks like this, is considered the masculine symbol. Guess again as to why?” This was fun, wasn’t it?
“Now what we do with these symbols is line them up to find the best matches. If you look at my chart my sun sign falls in Libra, which is my birth sign. Many of you will have this same type of thing. Your own sign is supposed to be your strongest match. I know.. I know people always say opposites attract, but if you think about it, do they really? What do you really have in common with someone that is the total opposite of you?” She had never found anyone she could be around more than a few months that was total opposite, WELL dating at least, but when it came to being just social she loved to be around everyone.
“Now some of you will find your sun is not in your birth sign, which is fine too, it just means that your sign is very compatible with this other sign. Venus being the more feminine is going to be a match that emotionally you are equal to, or well compatible for. They will understand your inner needs more. The more comforting, loving, sympathetic type needs. Whereas Mars being the more masculine is going to be your adventure and attraction type of compatibility. They are going to be those ones that you fit better with in interest and an attraction on their looks. “ Did they realize what they were doing now? “So our next step is to find out what Zodiac signs are most compatible with us. Now this doesn’t mean that others are not. No, people can get along with any match up, it just might me a little extra work. The ones that find their true sign match can find the easiest ways to get along.” Which is what she’d rather prefer. “If you look at mine you will see that my sun and Venus are in Libra, so my strongest match is my own sign, though Venus if you look is on the border of Libra and Scorpio, so Scorpio would be considered another close match. My Mars symbol is in Aquarius so this would be my third compatible sign. Take a few moments and see where those three signs are and write them down, you will need them for the next part of the class.”

Now they were going to find their best relationship matches. That should be interesting. Jasmine was ready to give it a try. First though, Professor Cassie asked a question about Venus and Mars. Jasmine raised her hand to offer her thoughts.
"I think Venus is considered the feminine symbol because Venus was the Roman goddess of beauty, love and pretty much all things girly. You can't get more feminine than that. Mars was the god of war so he would represent strength, testosterone and manliness." Having given her answer, Jasmine set to work on her chart.
